I love this venue! It marks the beginning of several more blocks of wonderful businesses that cater to my tastes as an African American Person of Trans Experience! The location truly serves as a hub because walking a mile it any direction from there will take you to a gayborhood that meets your standards of equality acceptance fresh sweet eye candy!

This gorgeous purple SF building now has a mural featuring @fnnch’s honey bears, just in time for SF’s 50th Pride celebration. There’s a bear one for each flag: Progress and Philadelphia Pride with black and brown stripes, Bi, and Trans. Check out his Instagram account for more info.Update 7/22/21: a new mural was painted in May 2021 which features “Queeroes” by @manuel165 and @simonmalvaez

The center does so much for the LGBTQ community. The people are knowledgeable and caring. I spoke at a career event they hosted, and it was a lovely event. Respectful. Empowering. Supportive for the community.

Truly a great place to swing by and receive information on all kinda of topics. The front desk staff are awesome and always informative. They have made some renovations since I was gone and the facility is clean and welcoming.

Do not let this place fool you ! They get tons of donations which the staff always pick first , and I am one of the youth who participate in the youth program. I have been given unfair treatment by the staff who work there. They are aweful and do not take care of situations properly. Its a safe zone , but the youth are always wanting to fight and start drama and the staff just alow it but when times get tough they sit back and sip there tea. Levi is the main one who causes bad tension and always wants to scream when trying to deiscalate a situation. On top of everything I explained there is a lady who is kinda dikish , lesbian white , anywho she has harrased me , and a few of my friends. She will come in the bathroom to make sure your not wearing shoes. Kinda weird right ? Well apparently you cant go w/out shies in the bathroom but for someone to squat down and look under the stall your in is out of pocket. I have filed several grievances and have no heard back . This place is horrible. !

This center needs to get a better representative. The guy sounds like he’s either under the influence or is not wanting to be there. I could probably do a better job and btw my name isn’t Jason it’s jacob.

I was at the San Francisco LGBT Community Center for the monthly Portuguese language group of Águilas, an organization with various group meetings throughout the month in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. While the primary focus is on gay and bisexual men of Latin-American heritage and prevention of HIV/AIDS, the groups welcome all members of the LGBTQ+ community and their friends and allies.Topics discussed range from psychosocial to legal to health concerns. Águilas also sponsors purely social events, e.g., a Halloween party, Thanksgiving dinner, and winter holiday festivities. The SF LGBT Community Center was recently renovated and the re-do provided more functional and comfortable meeting spaces for Águilas and other NGOs.

It helps going to the meetings. then one time this trangender woman who looked like miss congeniality was trying to get in her truck and she had this elongated wig that she had to take off cause it was too big to get into the car

Rude people at the front desk who looked like they could care less about helping me even though I was in noticable distress. Might try this place again cause I am interested in meeting others from the LGBTQ community here.
