I have been coming here for at least the past 6 years. I have seen Joseph capriati, dubfire, Chris leibing, and Nicole m here. Dubfire played until 4:30am last time. Incredible. They even brought Ben klock from Berghain.The sounds system puts public works and midway to shame. The midway sound system is so bad now.The security has always been cool and even chatted with one after the show. Not sure what people are doing who are writing those reviews.I just wish they got more headline house/techno djs to play. The sound system is amazing.It’s a small club but that makes the experience more intimate I feel like.They do charge for waters and no tap water which they should consider changing.

Was $25 cover despite being completely dead on a Saturday night. Water was more expensive than at the airport. It was also all guys I only saw like 3 women

Great little venue, Mikey the owner was very nice and was working coat check! Makes for a trustworthy place to leave your jackets and have a good time.Good music, friendly bartenders. Looie pours a nice size shot ;)Would go again.

Worst club in SF! Absolutely avoid at all costs.Staff is rude! The crowd is unruly and cheap. Women get hit on and groped incessantly. Doesn’t feel like a safe space at all.Bartenders are RUDE and won’t even give you water after 2am, unless you want to buy overpriced bottled water.Vibe, lighting and sound is C-Gave this place a lot of chances, but never ever coming back, no matter who the artist is.Don’t waste your money and your mental peace.

One star is generous. We only went here to avoid the line at Audio and the colder weather. It felt extremely unsafe once inside. Why? Because there was a man in the women’s bathroom trying to get into multiple women’s stalls and was trying to grope one and would not get out. We were finally able to get the right people involved to remove him but as a woman, i’d advise other women not to go.

We come here often. One of the best clubs in San Francisco. Everyone from the Bouncer to the Bartender are all cool. They always have the best House music.

This was one of the worst club experiences Ive had to date. Music and lighting were cool but the bouncer was extremely aggressive and rude for no reason. Major vibe kill before we even entered. With the 7:1 ratio of men to women not exactly a place where I as a woman felt safe, was being followed and harassed literally from every angle. The fog machine caused both me and my friend to lose our voices and have really bad asthma for days after the event. Overall would not recommend if youre trying to have a really good & memorable night.

The sound system is pretty good, the lighting setup is unique.

The best sound in San Francisco and you can actually move around on the dance floor.

Ive only been here a few times now but, compared to Audio next door or the others it felt way way less crowded. Some of you may prefer the packed vibe but not me, the music was fire and we had space to fn jam out and get drinks when we wanted them so, thats huge for me. Otherwise sound quality is solid, overall its cool!

Horrible experience. Lady in box office scammed my friends by overcharging them. I paid $15 while they paid double the amount per entrance. She accepted cash or Venmo, which is not normal for an established business. She might be pocketing some of the money.

Would have given lower than 1 star if I could.Rude Bouncer, terrible drinks, terrible sound system, unnecessary loud, terrible music, terrible fog machine.Had a bad feeling when the bouncer was rude to my friends who were from out of town.The drinks were so bad that no one could finish their drink. It tasted awful.The sound was unnecessarily loud and made the beats unenjoyable.The fog machine was used way too much made everyone sick the other day.DO NOT GO.

First time visit this club 5/17/24 not bad at all

Lighting was cheat and constantly on strobe setting. Zero deco. My friends and I sat at a booth that had no reserved sign or was blocked off in anyway. A *couple hours* after being in this spot, a group of people aggreively told us we needed to leave the booth or we would be ejected from the club entirely. Turns out this was the owner threatening to eject us, paying customers. A word of advice to the owner: just put a reserved sign up if something is off limits. Theres no way we could have known which areas were vip in a one room club without clear indicators. Theres a much more tactful way to inform your paying customers of your unspoken rules - mistakes happen and theres no reason to be that inflammatory.

The music is good, lights are awesome. Opens a little longer than most places. But what hurts me is they used to have free water to drink and they started monetizing it now. I understand that. But it’s their own brand and freakin $7-8 for a small water bottle. You will need at least 2 of them. Now that’s a soulless and greedy thing to do. In long term, I think it will hurt the vibe of the place.

Great venue except the fog machine going off every 5 mins. Love the visuals and lights, also couldn’t see them very well because of all the fog. Pretty much the whole experience was great except the fog, it was just overkill. There are other reviews on here about pick pocketing being an issue here. I can totally see how easy they make it with the fog machine. Coughed for a solid bit after leaving. So overall great experience except maybe less fog and more cowbell.

The tall black lady who works outside here is so rude !! The other reviews are right, why do she attack us and make us feel negative and bad for no reason? Me and my girls could not even enjoy the night after with her. Never again coming to this terrible place until shes gone

Worst place I’ve genuinely ever been to and I didn’t even go inside. After waiting in line the bouncer told me to go back and pay the cover charge. All I did was ask how much it was and they grabbed my hair and threw me. Straight up assaulted me for no reason. I didn’t put a hand on them and never would. They were so aggressive and pulled a taser out on me and my friend and threatened to taser us. No one around helped in anyway. I was attacked at this club by a person that works there because they were on a power trip. I was also much smaller than them and was in no way a threat. They should be fired but the club couldn’t care less. By all means do not go here. This is also the first review I’ve ever written…I would never take the time to write this if it wasn’t such a bad situation and honestly pretty scary. Giving this place even one star is hard for me to do.

The worst club in San Franscisco. We arrived at the place to celebrate my birthday and 5 minutes later they stole a camera from me, we quickly went to the exit to tell the guard who sent us inside ignoring us. After that they robbed a girl who was next to us. very ugly environment

Awesome dance club showcasing DJ’s from around the world. Door staff are friendly and efficient. Apple Pay accepted at the bar making it easy and secure. Bar staff are also friendly and efficient. No longer a Dolby Atmos club but still a great sound. DJ’s listed on the website typically have a SoundCloud page so you can check them out to determine if you want to catch their set.

Worst experience ever. All my friends and I got sick right after due to continuous fog and smoke from their fog machine. Super loud music and frequent use of flickering lights was annoying.

I have always had a great experience at Halcyon. It took a while for people in SF to discover it - my first show there for Jonas Rathsman was almost empty - but once it caught on it became the best place to enjoy music. It has a great sound system for being so small; I heard they installed Dolby speakers in the last year. The lights are modest but effective. It is a smaller than normal venue for sure but that has made for a really great experience. Its so fun getting an intimate show with DJs like Nora en Pure, Kyle Watson, and legend Pete Tong.According to other people on this thread, pocket thefts have been growing so keep your belongings safe. As for the staff, theyve always been fairly chill to me. Curt sometimes but hey dealing with show-goers isnt always easy :) Im looking forward to returning.

A kind of classy electronic scene. The atmosphere is less dance, and more socialize; you can talk without having to scream. They also have a VIP section behind the DJ, which is unusual for SF. After a point in the night when it starts getting less crowded nobody really seems to care if you go in there.

The staff was not doing enough to eject people who were smoking, and they were on too many occasions. Despite complaints to the security staff, the smokers were allowed to stay. Also the sound system was not up to the standards. The DJ was not happy how the volume would fluctuate on its own. Not going back there again.

Depending on the benchmark u have.Halcyons setup is minimal. Love the LED lights on stage. The ceiling is high gives volume feeling. Sound system is on par w super clubs. I would go again for good shows here.

Cabaret license = late late hours, which is a huge bonus. Good layout but needs better more creative lighting to make up for lack of other rooms. Sound is decent but not spectacular when compared to other clubs.

The security lady was rude and the place looked shady. The bartenders were nice and thier service is good. Not a best place to party on a weekend.

This place is wild, good music, drugs everywhere and be aware of stealers.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! My phone got stolen here. Lots of phone covers found outside later in the night. Looks like this is pretty normal here based on the other reviews I just read. SO PLEASE BEWARE

Staff was kind and attentive never had to wait too long for service even when the main act was performing.

A pick pocket heaven! Beware, within an hour of dancing in this club my iphone was stolen out of my purse. As the reviewer below noted, pick pocketing is rampant here.

I used to love this Club, but now there ask for $100 p.P. entrance after 2am.

Good place for dancing, bar selection was limited but bartenders were friendly. Kinda dingy and VIP seating is a bit over rated.

Reasonably nice venue, with reasonable ticket prices. I went to Halcyon SF on November 10th, 2018, to see Oliver Koletzki. After leaving my jacket in a corner near the coat check, to be picked up later, I found it had gone missing only moments later. Sure enough, at the end of the show, I asked at the coat check and my jacket was in their lost-and-found. The woman working the counter then CHARGED ME money to recover my jacket from their so-called lost-and-found.I left Halcyon feeling cheated; I will not be coming back here.

Really enjoy this space. Open super late and usually host to good djs and fun peeps. DJ booth is like a space ship so get ready to get blasted! :D

An amazing Venue with amazing sound and lights.Gets you close to true sound with the sphere created.Combine this with just one of a kind lighting effect and its a great scene.

Halcyon is a participant in a scam – I bought tickets to a Boiler Room show at the Halycon but eventually found out it was deceptively advertised and branded under the Boiler Room name, but not an official Boiler Room event.The event description was purposely vague as well. Completely unethical and irresponsible.

Best club in sf for techno and house. IMO

We got into the club at 02:45, paid $10 entrance fee, just to find out that they were closing and did not sell drinks anymore. Someone needs to edit the details that club closes at 03:00 😏

This place is most awesome if you are into the rave/trance/electric dance scene. The strobe lights themselves get you in that dizzy headspace that only raves get you into 😉

Club inside is good, security was friendly. The music was ok but wasn’t much alive.

I should have listened to Google Reviews. They collect their money($30) as part of the cover fee because they also know that it sucks after one enters in. So they make the most of cover fee because it’s only downhill from there. $30 is too much and the least crowded club I have seen so far. This is a review for a Friday night at 11pm. The business model is banking on FOMO as if there’s something happening inside with high cover fee but inside all you see is a deserted space and a bar with extravagant pricing of drinks.

A shell of what it used to be. It used to be an atmos venue with amazing sound, now its just meh
