First night out in SF and this place was lots of fun! We came for some house music downstairs and it started out mellow around 10 and got packed by 11:30, had to go out for some fresh air a couple of times. The bartender that served us was awesome. The photobooth was super fun. We danced the night away and met some eccentric peeps. There is also a really cool speakeasy close by which is now my fav place for food and drinks.
That person who was charging for the entrance was rude and violent. Worst experience in my life.
Let me begin with this: Monarch is a rare club where the primary focus is on the unity of people through the experience of music and dancing. Intimate, warm, friendly—the future of techno music in San Francisco lies beyond the gates of Monarch. Not to mention, Such. A. Good. Sound. System. But what’s particularly wonderful about Monarch are the people who run it: Craig, the manager; Cesar and Eva, who were bartending that night; Mattie, the guy behind the visuals; and everyone else—absolutely amazing humans who make you feel like you’re at home. They made the experience for us not only memorable—but also heartfelt and sweet. My friend, Brigitte and I came here for Dax J (which was ufff absolute insane), but we left with so much more than that; we left with new friends to come back to and an experience that was truly remarkable—remarkable in sound, in movement, and in connection. So to conclude, this is where you will be this weekend. With love,Ting
Hi, I’m visiting with a friend of mine from Los Angeles and we ended up in the best night club in town. Monarch in San Francisco is seriously the place to be! The atmosphere is electric, the music is on point, and the vibes are unbeatable. Highly recommend checking it out! 🎉🎶
After party with friends, Doc Martin, Manny, Galen. Great sound system and air conditioning.
The main floor is a really cool bar with a small dance floor in the back. The downstairs dance floor is much larger with only so much of a capacity, so larger artists are going to cause an uncomfortable pack-in for audiences. I ended up at a corner of the room, dancing outside of the range of the speakers because it was so packed.Great atmosphere though, would recommend for nights with unspecific artists and DJs so you can have room for yourself.
Drinks are good. Vibe is good. But there was an unpleasant odour in the dance area behind the bar, possibly due to old carpet. Otherwise a nice place to hangout.
Very nice music(house music the day i went). Clean all gender restrooms. Spacious. Very very nicely decorated basement. Someone really gave a thought. Free water available. Respectable and nice crowd. And $20 cover charge the day i went. Totally worth it.Good job whoevers managing it.
Over 30 dollars for two shots. Better off buying a bottle ahead of time.A 375ml bottle of jamo at total is 15 dollars. That comes out to roughly 4¢ a mL. One shot or jigger is 44ml and costs 15$ minus tax and tips and such. Lets say 35¢ per mL. That is a 775% increase.California’s anti-price gouging statute, Penal Code Section 396, prohibits raising the price of many consumer goods and services by more than 10% after an emergency has been declared. For items or services a seller only started offering after an emergency is declared, the seller may not charge a price greater than 50% of what it cost the seller to provide the item or service. I highly recommend the upstairs. Cool vibe, excellent cocktails, and I loved the aerial performance. The basement was not great, though. The music the night I went was extremely repetitive techno and house, nothing progressive or creative at all. The bathrooms were also way seedier than youd expect for a place with such a nice upstairs bar. Its possible it was just not my taste, but it started to feel like the $20 to get into the basement was a trap to make sure you didnt leave once you found out how boring it was down there.
Staff are really nice, and work their booties off. The upstairs vibe is chill, with soft lighting - suitable for conversations. The downstairs is bumping, and has a decent dance floor. First venue Ive been to in the city which books awesome DJs (who pick good tracks + know how to beat match). Clientele seem to be humans who actually want to dance, which is refreshing.
This club is located in of the worst parts of town. Getting in and out of the venue without being bothered by homeless people is nearly impossible. They have a great sound system and is fun to dance to house music. Drinks are expensive. They do a Taco Tuesday special with a full menu and drinks at a good price. Just be prepared to deal with the rough crowded when coming or leaving. If you do park in the area do not leave anything valuable in the car.
This place was pretty cool, vibes were safe , bartender and bouncers were friendly. The night I went, however, crowd was on the older side and the DJ wasn’t too versatile
I usually don’t write or share reviews but felt the need to, after last night’s treatment. The music was amazing, both the 2 back to back djs upstairs and the main act djs down in the basement, no issues / complaints there. Also the security guard older gentleman outside and the lovely and polite bartender at the upstairs bar were both great BUT some of the staff was extremely rude, bossy and condescending.During entrance, after we paid the cover, I wanted to give my coat to coat check. But the lady at the checkin booth was extremely rude and even though I saw an empty hanger and politely pointed it out, she kept repeating “Coat check is full, I can’t take your coat!” almost semi-yelling a couple of times. And later, I was still sipping away / finishing my drink past 2am and some manager type dude walked up to me while our whole crew was sitting with me at the couches, pulled the mason jar out of my hand and kept repeating super rudely “It’s past 2am, you can’t drink this” - instead of asking “Can I take it away?” or offering some sort of gift or money back for the drink I couldn’t finish. It really took me aback and I haven’t been treated this rudely at any SF nightclub before, ever! Don’t waste your money on Monarch. So many other amazing venues in the city with much nicer staff 😉
Pretty decent night club. Has two distinct floors and experiences. On the street level, there are two bars and a small dacing floor. Entrance is free to access these areas. There is a basement where you have to pay 20 dollars cash to have access to it. They have a bar and a larger dancing floor. There is a DJ and a theme party going on. Pretty cool experience with all the decorations and everyone dancing around.
Would give them a 3.8 (lol) to be technical. Small vintage feel upstairs bar and dance room with a downstairs dancing floor with a $25 cover the night I went. I was probably a little over the average crowd age, been there done that... it was all right. House music is house music but a little too redundant. African-American bouncer was super friendly. Two gender-neutral restrooms ground level were cool but a bit too dark and not taken care of as the night went by - had to deal with increasing puddles.
Stopped in for a drink the other day but ended up checking out the club below. One of the most interesting sound systems Ive seen before. Almost antique looking speakers that sound amazing. The bar usually gets some great house djs playing here. Its a smaller venue so it can get packed.
Staff were really nice, upstairs have soft lights and chill music. But downstairs were just an energy bomb with high techno music. Artists were very talented and knew how to adapt dancing people.
Post pandemic, this place is really scary. It felt like it was hunting season and the ladies were the prey, and we were NOT informed. Compared to other clubs in SF, the bouncers were completely absent and not keeping anyone safe. There were so many gropers present it was disgusting. The only reason I give it 2 stars instead of 1 is because the sound system is great. But if you are a woman, I would reconsider coming to this place.
A pretty venue inside for sure, however the staff is terrible. All of the bartenders were unbelievably rude and the door staff aggressive. I had a really bad experience after a long wait to be able to attend. Super disappointing. Procede with caution.
Great little venue right there in SOMA. Its an upscale-ish bar up top with a small and intimate music venue in the basement. It has easily one of the best sound systems in the city so if a DJ you like is playing here I wouldnt hesitate to go see them. It can get a bit hot downstairs but nothing too crazy, overall I would say a solid venue to see an artist you enjoy and not a bad place to check out on any given Friday/Saturday night.
Great cocktails at the upstairs lounge with a very relaxed atmosphere. Downstairs is an entirely different experience. The one and only VOID sound system is mind blowing. This place is a real diamond in the rough on the 6th street corridor. Great amazing hour specials as well.
Great time. We went for an after party at Dreamforce. We didn’t even realize there was a lower level until we’d been there several hours!
Amazing venue with great sound. The Staff is friendly. Drinks arent badly priced for the city. Cover is normally free for the upstairs and minimally priced for the downstairs. Allways has a great crowd
One of the best house music venues in SF! Owners are all long time members of the SF music scene so you can trust the sound, lighting, and the talent booked here are all top quality. Only challenge is the neighborhood, but besides that its a killer spot for a night of dancing! 🕺
Its a classier bar, and they have a hanging hook that an acrobatic gogo dancer dances in sometimes. The real dance floor is in the basement and the bouncer makes up prices to get in. It was $10 and then my friends checked 10 minutes later and it was $20. Pretty small areas, not great for groups.
One of the best Soundsystem and staff in s.f. Very little attitude. Atmosphere is really well done upstairs. Downstairs is like your old-school rave cave with an all concrete bar.
Upstairs is nice, but downstairs is where this place shines. The sound system fits the basement perfectly; its not too big of a space, but still has loungey areas away from the dancefloor. Make sure to come on a night that matches your tastes.
Great drinks at the bars up tip and fun dancing down below. The bartenders are the best here, just say hey. Most nights have a theme or a weekly thing thats going on. Taco Tuesday and Smoked Out Wednesdays are bomb.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. AVOID THIS AWFUL ESTABLISHMENT. There is a SECRET BALL PIT behind the vent by the living room set up in the corner by the front door. Pathetic general manager getting a power trip from kicking my friends out for being in this area even though there was no signage and we were complying with leaving the area. After paying a cover charge and drinks, they threatened to call the police on us for trespassing because we asked why we were being kicked out. Overpriced with an awful staff, no one telling us a good reason for why we were getting kicked out and took our money after being in the establishment for 5 min. AVOID. A WASTE OF MONEY, TIME, AND THEY CLEARLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATRONS
This is an insanely beautiful art deco space-- covered in swirling gold patterns above the bar, lights coming out of a tuba from the ceiling, has a giant circular gap in the wall where a Lyra hoop hangs, fancy lanterns and flocked wallpaper...its just gorgeous. Its what you want the inside of all bars to look like and puts other places to shame.
Comes as a relaxed club / lounge. Music was clubbing but a bit boring. Average age above mid thirties. 25 bucks entrance fee, 11 a vodka shot.
I went here on a Friday night to see two neo-80s (?) bands: FM Attack and French Horn Rebellion. I spent all of my time downstairs on the dance floor. Thoughts:* The first band didnt start playing until ~11:30 (originally scheduled for 9:30, not sure if thats typical)* Downstairs mens bathroom stall has no door.* Drinks are on the stronger side.* Sound system was great but LOUD! Earplugs recommended.* The dance floor is pretty small, but filled up to the right capacity around midnight.* The crowd had a better gender ratio than I expected for SF, at least earlier in the night!
I had to witness a horrific night when the 500 lb bouncer harassed my 100 lb girlfriend. It was super painful to watch my friend terrified like that and this big bald dude made A scene out of nothing. He lifted my tiny friend up in the air and shook her in the public and yelled at her face. Unskilled, unethical, no manner and no respect for women. Do you not have any sense of sizes like how big you are? You do not need that much energy to say No to a tiny girl.8 of us had already purchased tickets for the night. We are all educated young professionals who just wanted to celebrate our friends Masters degree at Monarch. But bouncer accused our couple girlfriends were trouble because they were drunk. They minded their own businesses and waited in the line like other people who were there. They were not drunk enough to cause any trouble.Always enjoyed my time there, but not anymore after what happened that night. And I am telling this to everyone I know.I read some yelp reviews, sounds like it is not his first time that he went nuts on other people. I wish I could give 0 star if I had an option.I hope Monarch management addresses this persons unethical attitude to their customers.
I went there on Friday and I’ve had a good night until the end when they gave me the wrong credit card. Luckily I found the guy and gave him his card back the next day but I wasn’t able to get back mine. I tried to call them, leave messages send e-mails on the informations they gave and I never got any answer so I had to get a new credit card. I went there on Friday and I got a few drinks and on the receipt It was 48$ and I remember that I’ve bought drinks for that price. On Monday I check my bank account and I see that they added 12 more dollars so they ignored my contact and used my card to take more money 3 days after I left my cart there. I never complain or write for nothing but this is not honest at all and I will call my bank to take those 12$ back and pay only for what I bought no more, no less.
Nice decor and great lights club for EDM music. I came here last night with a couple of girlfriends to dance and I liked the layout with good seating area at the corner. The music was on point if you like EDM music.Parking was easy but be sure to read the parking signs!
Came here for a bourbon tasting event last night and it was great! The venue is a little on the smaller side but theres two floors and a dancefloor on the lower floor. The downstairs bar looks very wide and great for some manhattan-making classes they were doing!
Really cool cocktail lounge with a tiny dance floor on the main floor and a larger jam packed dance club downstairs thats open until 4 AM. This place gets seriously poppin after 11 PM on weekends and it maintains a good volume balance thats high energy but also conducive to conversation.
Came with 7 of my friends, with full classic dress code, they didn’t let us in because the security gentleman “didn’t like us”, good luck getting in, I would avoid this place.Enjoy rest of SF.Cheers 🍻
Such an amazing place with such amazing people!! I was very impressed by Bobby, one of the bartenders from Monarch, who was talented enough to be able to create delicious, authentic cocktails when I asked for something special. Good vibes only! Loved it!
Great environment. Great down stairs addition. Good music to drink dance and enjoy...
I loved this place, it is a good place to go out and dance for a night. The downstairs is the club part which can get a bit packed, and the upstairs is a lounge that has a very chill feeling to it, think Punk meets Art. The crowd here was friendly, the only downside is the club isnt in a very nice area.
One of the best sound systems in SF. If you like house music/electronic/etc its a great place to go dancing. The bar upstairs has a cool steampunk feel to it and they make surprisingly good (for a club) cocktails.
You must come here on Tuesday! Its Taco Tuesday! Alfredo makes all the food himself and everything he touches turns to gold. No joke the food is ridiculous and very reasonably priced. Amazing DJs playing as well. Starts around 6pm and goes till the food runs out! Important note, cash only for food but card/cash for drinks at the bar.
RACISTS! Stay awayI only bother writing a review in exceptional cases & this club is fitting of this criteria. This clubs security hosts unreasonable racist and power hungry bouncers. On reflection I noticed they were kicking Asian people out & make up false accusations for justification. My friend (who is American Chinese) used what she thought was the gender neutral bathroom. As the bouncer saw her in what he claims was actually the men’s, without questioning her he threw her out. As he was pushing my friend out I kept asking what was happening as she was my ride home but he kept ignoring me & pushing me back. He wouldn’t tell me what was going on and after much persistence aggressively turned around & said are you in or outside with her. I said I needed to at least go outside to speak to her to which he immediately responded with my snatching my full double g&t, handing it to a colleague and instructing them to throw it outside on the ground. I responded that this was a highly unreasonable response and asked where I’d find the manager. When I walked to the front he was already standing there with the manager looking very flustered. He’d clearly realized his actions were unreasonable for if they were not he’d not feel obligated to sheepishly attempt to defend them. When I complained to management the bouncer who had chucked her out in front of us kept nervously stating ‘what girl uses the “gender neutral bathroom” unless they’re taking coke’ and then changed his story claiming he’d in fact actually seen her snorting illegal substances which was a complete fabrication (I said he could literally test her). Whilst I was positing what had happened the manager kept looking at me & stating to his colleague over his shoulder ‘I’ve got your back man’. This is clearly something that happens here a lot & management had no interest in hearing the complaint. FYI it was 1.40am (we’d entered at 1.30) and the club shut at 2 - no one will be starting drugs with 20 minutes to go.The reason it appears they try close up promptly by chucking people out is that there literally were a line of 3 police cars & bouncers continuously throwing non-violent tipsy people out claiming they were all on drugs. We also met some Korean American girls outside who told us the same thing had happened to them on a previous night there. As we stood there we saw them kicking out a Chinese girl for doing lines of coke. What is extremely ironic is that inside there were people gurning their faces off and none of whom were kicked out. I believe that it appears as though they’re more concerned by those who drank than those on drugs as the drunkards are the ones to usually be more unreasonable and messy.Very disappointed as having just paid 20 we were in there for little over 10 minutes. My suggestion to the owner:Invest in new non-racist security members & some more female loos as 1 toilet (as apparently gender neutral loos are off limits to us) is not sufficient.FYI if people are taking drugs they’ll try be inconspicuous, so guilty girls won’t be in the men’s.
Always have a blast when I come here. Im not much of a drinker but they make great drinks and always have bomb music (Most of the time a live DJ playing Some type of House music). Dont forget to check out Taco Tuesdays! 👍😁
I absolutely loved it, best Long Island iced I ever had. Winter two nights in a row this last holiday weekend and I got to see my favorite dj mixer Mark Farina. Total Size of place some what small.... But the women were sexy!
Pretty bougie place. Nice decor and all that. But! In order to hang out with the cool kids downstairs, you got to pay cover. I guess they try to keep out the ghetto people since it is off 6th and mission. Didnt really like the music and the scene. Its a pass for me.
Worst music, despite many requests to DJ to change songs. They play one tune for 2 mins minimum. Need to invest money on DJs than website for attracting crowd.
While Monarch is best known as a dance venue, I say skip the evening lines and sidle up to the bar after work for happy hour for $3 pints. Thats right, $3. Everything on tap, $3. At that price you can afford to buy a round or two for your friends and still be able to pay your rent.
Im a social butterfly. What can I say? As always, I handed myself the club card to go out for some dancing. Well, I deserved it after a stressful few weeks. Where else would I go? Nonetheless, SF.Meandering the streets of SF and feeling obliterated to leave Supperclub, I had the urge to head to Monarch. Odds were 10 to 1. Gambled with my friends and my conscience of what I had left after a few drinks to figure out how the club scene would be. Since its only been open for a few weeks, I didnt want to make the poor choice. Well, why the hell not?!I was taken aback! Monarch was a different vibe. Upstairs was more open. Fresh and lots of room, air to breathe and you can check out the crowd while tunes of rhythmic melodies streamed throughout the top floor. The place so far was inviting and so tasteful! Newly renovated and the color scheme of everything fell into place. I was loving every piece of it. The upstairs was definitely more of a lounge feel. Quiet yet elegant in such a casual setting. The upstairs DJ booth is tucked away in a window-like display before heading down to the rest of the venue below. My friends and I worked our way downstairs to their dancefloor. Downstairs was more packed yet still more room to get yourself to dance. They have the DJ set and stage nearby the downstairs entryway and bar area. Shocking they have stools and chairs to sit down if you care to rest a bit. Spectacular venue. Uptempo, mix crowd and the music is jumpin!! Grade A in my book. You cant go wrong with the place.Luckily, I found out they had Miguel Migs and Julius Papp spinnin the evening we went. House music and $5 cover charge?! Not so bad. If you come in earlier before guestlist closes, FREE. Drinks are hit-or-miss depending who pours your drink but I wont complain. They do have one bar upstairs and the other downstairs. However, its a CASH ONLY bar, but they do have an ATM machine. Unfortunately, the night we went it wasnt working. Love the place anyway, so that doesnt take away a star! Experience was fun! Security kept crowd control under wraps, so there was no problems whatsoever.I was feeling exhilarated when I swayed my hips from left to right and my feet was dancing to the groove with everyone! Lots of eye candy! I may have found a new joint to dibble dabble my tush to and fro the next time I visit. Penciled into one of my go-to spots!
Came here and danced my feet off. The crowd is great and not rowdy. Everyone seems to just want to enjoy the music and drinks. We left very tipsy and happy.
I go at least once a week for Taco Tuesdays 5:30-9:30 djs and music. JJ Shay and Dizkoalition are my faves. I dance til Im wrecked. Its great. Tacos and house music make for a good night out right at the beginning of the work week. Go!
4.1 average is very accurate rating for here I thinkNice bar. The club in the basement is fine. Not spectacular. The DJ when I was there was good
Only go to monarch on Tuesday, for the best Taco Tuesday in all of San Francisco. Has techno ish music playing and cheap yet amazing tacos. The food for Taco Tuesdays are fresh every Tuesday, and let me tell you the Tacos are loaded with goodness, and made with love of the food.
Went with my bf, great vibes, dim lighting, pricy drinks though. We danced a lot on the smallish dance floor but many different sections to explore in there. ALSO, free photo booth, WOW!
Very pleasant for meet-up events and the happy ours not bad either. If you drink beer, I recommend the Staropramen. Dont overlook the photo booth, but not to get too frisky on camera with your new friend(s), you may be visible on the web.
Free photo booth. Literally you can take as many photos as you want and they print them for you. That is something I have never seen at any other bar, ever. Therefore, I give Monarch five stars by default. I will continue to go back just for that feature! Loved it!
Fantastic sound system in the basement, reasonably priced drinks. Great talent comes through. Location is a bit sketch, but I havent actually had any problems coming here.
The good thing about this club is the audio. The people not much. The artists are very good. It gets very crowded upstairs and downstairs. If you are looking for a loungey place to talk, this is not the place to go.
I would never recommend this place, it’s completely unsafe. The security working at the door was drunk and threatening. Definitely not a place to go out thinking you will have a good night. Very disappointed.
The one and only Bi-Level Lounge Night Club in SF! Amazing sound by VOID...only one of two custom built sounds in the Nation!Drink hand crafted cocktails upstairs while the amazing DJs spin the latest in top beats!Or go downstairs to the dance floor and enjoy the sound and top DJs from around the world!
NO STARS! The security at the door are very rude and unprofessional! They are violent and by the looks of the reviews its not their first offense. Management you need to train your staff better and hire new staff! Poor people skills!
If you make it early enough on Fridays, Monarchs Amazing Hour will surprise you with their twist on happy hour. In addition to $4 beers and $5 wells, you can participate in the Photo Booth Competition and win $200 or play the Double or Nothing where the bartender flips a coin and you could potential get free drinks. Monarch does not open until 4AM every Friday and Saturday, so make sure to check the calendar on their website for specific dates. In most cases, cover ranges from $5-$20. Monarch has hosted top international DJs such as Kaskade, M83 and Carl Craig, and has a powerful sound system with an in-house sound technician. Monarch is a great combination for those looking for a nice lounge to chill and otheres looking to dance their butts off.
Let me tell you, I had a blast when Monarch hosted DJ Commix on tour from the U.K. There was a slight pause in the music while the two DJs switched sets. I did not necessarily know who was coming on next. I figured I had a little time to recharge while this new DJ warmed up. But this dude came in hella hard from beat one. He didnt waste any time and was obviously strictly down for bizness. I had to get up and go back to work. It seems theoretically impossible for every new track to be consistently sicker than the last sick beat, but Commix delivered just that. By the end of the night my legs were killing me, but he wouldnt let me stop. It was all worth it. Thanks, Monarch, for hosting that event.
I absolutely love, lov⁰this televisoin drama and hope it is on for many many more years to come. My new favorite show this seasonsesseasonhe aantelaviteshow.absolutely
ABsolutely loved the energy, the people are just so friendly! The staff completely amazing made me a new drink which Ill be introducing in London! ;) until next time X
It would be ok place if everyone there wasnt trying to pick pocket you or steal your jacket if you set it down man it was unbelievable I dont know if people go there to have fun or to try and rip each other off pretty creepy place not a very friendly environment
Decent place. I like that theres an upstairs thats free, but then the downstairs is where the DJs (generally you have to pay) spin. Can get really crowded though.
Always a good spot w great DJs. It’s on the smaller side, and it does get packedHowever, the vibes are always really great.
Interesting djs cool sound. Snobby door people and rude bartenders. I love clubs. I love the music this place books. But hate going here. 🙁
Monarch is a funny place, it has a loungy and a clubby feel at the same time. The free photo booth is probably the biggest draw though. Recommend if youre up for anything but cant decide what kind of night you want to have just yet.
Classy bar with aerial performances on top floor. Basement with Techno and Deephouse DJs on the weekend. Good crowds, nice staff.
If you haven’t stopped by, you’re missing out. Really cool staff, great music, and delish drinks. Area sketchy so stay inside. J/K...no really.
If you are going to charge $20.00 per person, you better have better DJs than you did tonight. Music was awful on both levels.
Bartender double charged me and then lied when confronted about it. Was very rude to me and my wife regarding the whole thing. There are better bars with better service in the area
Smaller venue, the bathroom was small and limited and music was not bad. Good seating and decent drinks on the main floor.
Been once, Im sure the regular croud is a bit snobby, but downstairs had good sound. If you know the DJ, Id recommend the sound.
Worst experience we have ever had. Rude, lying staff. Plenty of other clubs in the area and Id recommend going there instead. Double charged me and made my wife cry with how rude they were.
Upstairs is great, downstairs cant tell we were at a private event but it isnt as well decorated and the vibe was distinctly teenagers converted garage
I went there once for a May the 4th Star Wars party and it was just a regular dance hall scene. But still had a good time.
Great venue. Play dance music. Great split between lounge and dance floor. Feels completely like a different place.
Good bar. Good time upstairs. ANd the club sound system rteally makes it worth it. Their line up is also usually very quality like
Super fun bar/club. After we drink some delicious cocktails we went downstairs for an amazing night.
They often have great DJs in the downstairs basement space that is a great space. Upstairs off the street is the main bar, which is fine.
Depending on the night this place could be really awesome. Id always recommend checking out the artist online on Monarchs website. Usually really good house music.
Very cool place. Downstairs was kinda crazy so I stayed on the main level and the bartender there was outstanding.
Great spot to chill and see live music in the basement. Really well built, great ventilation, basement doesnt get stuffy and has clearly marked exits.
One of the rudest crowds I’ve ever dealt with. Very pushy. I can only speak for the basement though. One star redeemed for the amazing sound system.
Its a perfect place to go dancing, but the dance floor isnt open all the time, so that sucks. My friends and I love to go out TO dance.
Cool venue. Chill vibe upstairs and great dance floor downstairs but the music has been meh the three times Ive been.
Is not my style, I didnt like it. Down stairs is terrible, up stairs maybe but dont have tables e chairs enough, I lost 20 bucks (u should pay to enter)
Location isnt the best and venue is small, but the bartender was great and the cocktail list was inventive and tasty.
Cool hangout spot in the city, but no Ciroc or Hennessy....like forreal tho!? Ill still attend, but their drink selection needs to change.#Combinations #PeanutButterMobb #PBMobb
What a fine location; I dont know how I missed that one during all these years. Very cozy bar and a neat little dancefloor below.
Decent Soundsystem but the crowd visiting is often too much techbro crowd. Definitely too much talking on the dancefloor going on.
Interesting decor and drinks are reasonable. The bar is a bit unique compared to other establishments in SF
Out group was knocked out for no legitimate reason. When asked to security answers we are about to close but the club has still 1 more hour of open time
We had a brilliant time on a Wed night. Soul & funk - turntables plus drums, percussions, trumpet.
Good drinks. Is a good cocktail lounge and the music has a minimal electronic vibe.
This place was ok. Cover for the downstairs dance area is $30 which is a little steep for what you get.
So many good shows here, even better when you get tickets ahead of time. Paying at the door can be pricey.
The worst place in San Francisco, music terrible and the drinks very very expensive… Never came back again.
Great atmosphere, great music, great drinks. had a great birthday here! :)
I had one drink and was treated with the utmost respect. It was very clean and upbeat and a lot of good vibes.
I was not fun today
The bar is very nice, the nightclub is for house and Electronic music lovers!
Good sound downstairs, good food taco Tuesday up, and places to sit. I like it here.
Cocktail Bar/Club. Reliable for burning man/steam punk decor and club nights with mostly electronic music.
Nice atmosphere. Good entertainment. Pricey drinks but they are good.
Barely opened the door and was yelled at. If you don’t like your ob then do something else
Funky dance place. Really great cocktails and taco Tuesday was awesome.
Staff is a little tough and drinks are pricey but they host cool music nights.
Great place to forget it all and just vibe. Chill top floor, hypnotizing basement dance floor.
The floor was overpriced, music down below was disappointing, the washrooms seemed like theyd never been maintained
Do not underestimate the amazingness of the art on the walls here. Seriously. As an art collector it was my favorite thing about this place :-)
SF’s premier spot for killer tunes and the best liquid concoctions. DK all the way 😉
Good location for a private event. Two levels, three bars, good bartenders.
So they had a 30$ cover charge just so they could go to burning man while their streets were littered with homeless.
Great tacos for 2 bucks. Good happy hour. awesom djs. Taco tues
My go to neighborhood bar/night club! Awesome music, awesome place!
Has a great vintage vibe to it. Good sound and free water cups!
Very unfriendly bouncers and pretty small. But a nice place tho
$25 cover, horribly priced and not even clean
Dance floor in the lower level. Good music. Two bars.
Classy/Funky Upstairs, Modern Techno/Party downstairs. Perfect.
Steamfunk bar? Interesting decor and vibe in this small but friendly space.
Taco Tuesdays cant be beat! Great food great bar tender, just fabulous
Amazing house music downstairs. Love the mix of people there!
Really cool place ! Good music, drinks and people !
Great place and I love their photo booth
If you are traveling and not from SF its a gay bar but a dope gay bar gets lit here on a Sunday night
Cool hip space with yummy cocktails that leave you a bit more than inebriated.
Good music. Poor service and abusive wardrobe policy.
Very bad music! You cant even dance. Bad and expensive drink!
Amazing Void sound system, perfect size, intimate club.
The bar itself is good but its in a really bad neighborhood
Nice little spot with an underground club and a free photo booth.
Clean, Deep, Bass - Monarch has it. The sound system alone is worth it.
I dont eat at chain restaurants, except Super Duper. F In & Out.
