Its an amazing place that I found in SAN Francisco, a bar that is a kind of night club with music, good drinks and appetizers. I went with my friends and we enjoyed incredible moments in this place. it has a beautiful decoration, it is very well located, the staff are super attentive, cordial and receptive, the drinks are delicious, the price is good, the music is great, I highly recommend it. If you go to SAN Francisco and want to have fun with friends or family, this is the ideal place. It is worth mentioning that the place closes at 2am. recommend 10/10.

Stopped here very early one night on our visit to SF. Walked over from The Marker. We were the only two in the place. So we missed all the vibes and music, but we enjoyed our drinks and loved the fireplace. Bartender made me a great Old Fashioned but in their own style.

Riven try neighborhood, the bar is awesome. Elegant and beautiful; drinks are strong, delicious, and affordable. Bartenders are super nice and live DJ always is plus especially that acoustics are excellent producing crisp sound.

One of our random stops on a Wednesday night! Was lucky enough to run into live band night with amazing talent. Drink selection was amazing and atmosphere was great. We a bit of everything from beer, whiskey , and cocktails. Everyone was nice and respectful with the noise and entertainment- thanks for the awesome night

Great music, clean place, cool vibe, great dancing spot. But you cannot have ONE bartender on a Friday night. Will prob not be back for slow service (not bartenders fault). Management should consider putting another bartender on busy nights. Duh.

Nice trendy spot with no cover charge. Small but there are two levels to hang with your friends or man. Great acoustics and the dj plays some fun dance songs. I had the bartender make me something with coconut, cucumber, and mint and man was it delicious, even at $12. Fun spot to drink, hang, and dance.

Beautiful open space with a large bar top and dance floor. Was here for a night of live music which was enjoyable. Staff was so pleasant. Door guy and bartender were professional and friendly. I had a MEAN manhattan which I highly recommend

We ordered signature drinks from their menu. They were amazing! Service was great! The rotating shelves of whiskey were ridiculously entertaining!

Good cocktails 🍸! The names of the cocktails were clever, such as Holla at Chamoy. Large selection of alcohol. I got Glenfiddich 12, and he used the rolling ladder to grab the bottle, so I thought that was cool to see 😎.A lot of seating, and can accommodate larger parties. Parking is extremely difficult, so Id suggest to take a rideshare or taxi. Has a fireplace 🔥 to keep you warm.

Excellent choice of spirits, cool atmosphere. However, my girlfriend had a homeless man sit on top of her at the bar, which kind of killed the vibe. Usually understandable, (this is SF, after all), but there was a bouncer and he had to chase us down when we entered the bar. Maybe if the three employees at the bar and the bouncer weren’t MIA, the shoeless man literally navel gazing (staring at bar fruit) wouldn’t have ended up sharing a bar stool with her.

Love the ambiance & drinks here. Went on a Saturday and dj was playing so many good rnb & hip hop hits. Drinks were good, bar wasn’t super full. Only weird thing was the dj would seem nice / take requests, but then never* played anyones requested songs. I understand not taking requests, but why pretend & lie about it? Odd vibe.

Really lame bar, horrible music, bridge and tunnel crowd, smells like bad bad greasy food while your getting a drink at 11Pm.Bathroom is decent size for 2 :)

Was located down the block from my hotel so decided to give a try. Great space, great decor and ambiance. Drinks were tasty.

A cool little bar in downtown. Came here for the first time in years the other weekend with a friend. Had a few drinks and got our dance on.While its not a club and not really a lounge, they have places to chill and also a make-shift area to dance. They had a dj there on this Saturday night.The place is very well decorated inside. Dont hesitate to dress a little nicer if coming here.

Lots of memories (or not) going from Swig to Ambassador to Rye to Osha.[2022.09]Currently, after yeaaarrrs away, i see an Interesting remodel of a 10+ yr bar space. Aesthetic aims for modern/industrial rustic cozy but the lighting styles are potentially mismatched. Roominess can accommodate a thick social environment/party event, but on an off night feels vacant (like tonight). Fireplace vibe helps. The bar shelving is nice.Tonight is Thursday and now Ive realized the DJ network are people I follow/play the best on KALW!Thursdays w/ Boogie Brown feature some of the better DJs in the Bay, when it comes to taste in soul/funk/boogie/dance. Tfw a Joey Lawrence Remix mixes perfectly out of post-Prince / New Jack Swing, is kind of a no wayyyy, this is good?? moment. Great bar/lounge/transition vibe.The cocktail menu is somewhat forgettable. Dont bother with the new customs, just order classics that they cant mess up.I generally judge a bar/bartender by 1) the drink; 2) how willing they are to please the palate (pride in the craft)Here, disappointment in their lemon juice with whiskey/earl grey cocktail fell on deaf/ignorant ears (hint hint). I felt it uncouth to be a Karen on the spot, so yes - passive aggression review? Haha jk. Dude said I put 1oz lemon. Yeah, its the recipe. So... Yeah @ Swig Bar Mngr: the lemon drowns out everything else, maybe tone it down; and what earl grey?Alternate recommendation: literally up the street, you can hit the Bourbon & Branch library and have your palate be blown away with refinement of distilled flavor by the pioneers of West Coast mixology, for the same or less cost.

Classy decor and great cocktails - this wouldnt be a bad date spot. They have a ton of alcohol and theres quite a bit of space. Wasnt crowded around 6pm on a weekday, so it could be a good place to go after work for drinks as well.

They have a fireplace, house dj and a craft cocktails. Small bar but its an open floor-plan with NO COVER. Like other ppl have said, the bartenders are pretty helpful. We stayed at the Hotel Adagio across the street and it was a great transition spot if youre starting your night or winding down.

Totally fun, unpretentious standby bar near Union Square with a great whiskey selection (a must). Really big welcoming space, but only a few seats here and there. Service is friendly, but not all that fast. They have an upstairs section that overlooks the main floor that you can rent out for private parties. A bonus for me is that they open earlier than the other bars in the area. Dont judge.

Came here on a Saturday night with a group of girls. The back room gets a little hot. The service is friendly. Beer selection is excellent. Good place to grab a drink and dance -- its nothing fancy, theres no cover, and kind of low key which is great! When we left at around 11:30, there was a huge line to get into the place... so Id recommend coming early to avoid waiting in a line.

For starters I love the place. What I don’t like is the service. Several times I’ve been there I notice ATTITUDE and rude bar woman. Music is awesome and drinks are great. It works if you can put up with horrible service and attitude you will get from the bar woman. Good luck!

I had an extremely tasty pear cider here. The decor was great, and it was a nice place to chat and drink with some friends, but then they started cranking the music to antisocial levels. No one was dancing, but they sure drove us away.

It was a Wednesday evening and this cool place was far from full. That said, the bartender was very helpful and the drinks were good. The place has ambiance and a fireplace. Im looking forward to coming back on a weekend.

Very pretty looking bar, with a cool fireplace on the main floor. Only a few tables on the main floor, but the upstairs is a great venue for private parties or simply hanging out. The music upstairs is a tad muffled compared to the main area.

Good sized multi-level bar in SF with many hand crafted drinks from true mixologist. Didnt even see a bar gun while there. Diverse crowd in 20-30s. Credit accepted. They seem to close the door at some point which immediately raises the temp inside.

Was here yesterday with friends for our last night. Amazing place! Great vibe and atmosphere! Very nice staff and DJ. Only problem - they have to close early (01:30 on a Friday) because of the neighbors’ complaining..

This is one of San Franciscos better cocktail bars. It always smells sweet and woody and the drinks are tasty (and under $10). They also have a selection of good beers on the menu.

Was there on Tuesday evening. Check at the door by a doorman.Place looks like there is enough room to dance while you can get drinks at the bar. A small DJ booth in the back.They have a seasonal menu with some daily specials.Price is average and the Original Sin I had felt like a sin as it was nice and burning.

-1star for pricey drinks. Yes, I am aware it is in San Fransisco. Great staff, great drinks, and (on the night I went) great DJ. A small tip to the DJ jumpstarted some dancehall. 🤘 I will be back, the next time Im in SF. Thanks guys.

The drinks here arent awful, the vibe is kind of fun, but overall, the experience wasnt memorable. We went to Swig briefly, for maybe 30 minutes before my friends and I realized the guy girl ratio was well above 5:1. Not to mention, the level of energy was low, especially for a Friday night.Id give this place another shot and definitely wouldnt write it off the list, but didnt have much more than an average time here.

Swig is a fun club-type atmosphere that seems to cater to the bridge and tunnel folk mostly. if youre in the mood to be starred at and questioned as to why youre there then this is the spot for you. Put on your fancy dress and high-heels and get yourself downtown to Swig.The contemporary decor seems to keep up to date and thrives as being a sophisticated bar. I think its lacking in the classy aspect of the word sophistication. Although, the drinks are good and music is fine, there seems to be nothing special or deserving of a 4th star.When theres a good DJ or live music then its a better night. Be sure to check it out for your own experience.

Nice ambient, people there are friendly. Bit pricey cocktails but suuuper good and original. I loved the music. Great place for some fun evening.

Swig is tiny, but its fun. Theres a lively, mixed crowd with mostly young patrons in their 20s and 30s. I like the music they play but the bathroom situation is less than ideal. Either go somewhere else for restrooms, or dont drink so much that youll need to use it every 30 minutes.

The bar closed earlier than the announced opening times and the staff snapped the drinks that we paid for out of our hands. It is fine to close after the law but we did not even have the chance to finish our drinks before the waiters yelled at us and violently snapped the drinks out of our hands.

We gave this place a try after many attempts to find the champagne bar nearby. I had my first sidecar and it was delicious. Theres also an upper balcony where you can hangout at too.

While many other folks seem to dig other speakeasyish bars around the area more, I actually prefer Swig. More space, more chill, less sugary drinks, and I believe their cocktails are lower priced, too. I really dig the decor and ambiance of this place.

Great atmosphere, right on one of main streets and superb entertainment by a band that was wishing out live music. We were a bunch of folk from around the world and what a fun time we had at Swig.

The doorman , with headphones in, was a total bonehead, but the bar was great and the ambiance was stellar. Sunday night good music priced right, but again the doorman wanted to be somewhere else and I hope next time I visit he is somewhere else.

The worst place i ve been to, very rude staff, particularly bouncers. Got charged 50 bucks for single yamazaki 12, ridiculous price. Then my 3 out of 3 drinks were stolen! Unsafe!

Swig is a great place to have a good cocktail and listen to some old school music during Happy hour. I love the fireplace and the DJ plays great dance music!

Compare the B&B and the Rickhouse, this place is in between. This is one of my favorite hangouts in the city. They make some stiff drinks and attract an appealing crowd. I wish they had more drinks in their menu and though its a treat to see the bartenders making your drinks with care and skill, a couple of more poeple can surely help fasten the serivce out there.

This is one of the loveliest places to stop and have a really nice cocktail in the tenderloin. They have a nice fireplace beautiful lighting and the bartenders know how to make the great cocktail.

The few times Ive been to this place always had a great DJ! Drinks are good also but no one really dances.

The fireplace here is the best on a foggy San Francisco day. Order a golden mojito and cozy up on one of the comfy leather chairs! However, turns into a semi-Eurotrashy dance club on Saturday nights.

This place was amazing!!! I went there on Latin/salsa Monday night and it was packed with fun dancing. Very upbeat atmosphere and everyone was having a great time!!!

Nice bar, BUT one of the bar tenders tried to serve us a cheaper Gin. However one of the bar tenders was great and rectified the situation by subsidising the drinks. Nice bar and drinks in general.

Ok guys, friday youre drunk and want to show yourself on the dance floor, you go up into the room and see the club crowded tight and you stay until closing, but on the rest of the days its pretty quiet though it doesnt stop to enjoy good cocktails with the appropriate company.

Horrible service. I have never been treated so badly in my life. The bar closed earlier than what it said online and I had my drink rudely ripped out of my hands followed by being verbally abused (close to physically) by the bar tender because I was asking questions about the closing hour. Will never go again and would not recommend it to anyone.

$11 + for a cocktail - that they do not come and serve to you. I understand the cocktail itself is a creation but I’m quite offended at their price and LACK of any sort of service. Save yourself the money.

Very rude and ignorant staff. I was given an incorrectly made cocktail and when I pointed this out, I was verbally insulted and my drink was not fixed. In fact the man thtew the proper ingredients into the faulty cocktail as if it were a waste can

Original bar with in-house cocktail creations. I was there on a Sunday evening and there was a blues jam session. Around 10-12 musicians thrilled the audience. These sessions take place there regularly. The Swig also stands out from the crowd thanks to the illuminated design of the bar and the fireplace. The cocktails are recommended.

Hospitality ZERO, the second barman or waiter with long curly hats welcomes me, the only person in San Francisco where he asks me to show a physical ID, I ask for the Wi-Fi password and I am denied because it is only for the staff and then the other customers are given it . Nice place, good cocktails but zero customer approach!

Italians, be wary of this place as they have HUGE prejudices against Italians. We had a cocktail, paid regularly, we wanted to have another one and the red-haired girl replied that she would no longer serve us without specifying the reason. Obviously I called the Manager who asked us to finish the cocktail and leave WITHOUT EXPLAINING ANYTHING.They all had a very rude and snooty attitude. Dont give money to these people.
