We were there a bit early yesterday and it was still a bit empty, but the place filled quickly when the line dancing was about to start. I did not expect that to be this popular among the youth! I had the time of my life and spent all night on the dance floor! It was my first time line dancing and Im sold. 10/10 a night to remember!
This is by far my favorite bar in San Francisco. There is so much to do, from trivia to line dancing to pool. The decorations are phenomenal and it is the casual space in between a bar and a club. Line dancing makes my heart so happy here.
Great place to hangout with friends after hours, pregame or even a night out. They have a room that you can book for more privacy. The drinks are good, they offer food as well. They have plenty of seating, DJ, a dance floor, jenga & bull riding($5). The manager was super nice, he showed us around. Plan to arrive a little early cos parking in SF is a nightmare. Will definitely be back when we visit SF again.
Lexie is the best bartender. She is so friendly and engaging. She makes everyone feel great. She is the main reason I go to Westwood. Ive been to a million bars none of them had a bartender like Lexie. Very quick service she doesnt mess around.
Came for the 90s speakeasy bar. So to start it impressive there is enough space for this. The pricing for tickets to the bar is pretty bad, you pay for sitting but arent guaranteed seating which is frustrating. Its a very cool concept for a bar and we thought it was fun to look at the video drink options. It was very dirty! The bathrooms had pee all over the floors and out of all paper products in every place. All tables and floors were very sticky.
I have been going line dancing here every week for a year, and I genuinely look forward to it every single week. I had never done country dancing of any form before coming here, and I instantly fell in love with the energetic atmosphere, helpful instructors, and culture of the clientele and bar. Ive brought many people here and no one has left without being captivated by their time here!
Westwood is such a fun place on a Saturday night. It’s so huge, and I was amazed how much space there was! When you enter, there’s the western room with the bull riding and a bunch of country music. (Just need to sign a waiver) I didn’t last long, but it was so fun. You can walk through to get to the hip hop room if you want a different vibe!Definitely get a VIP table upstairs if you want to celebrate a birthday since it gets pretty crowded on the ground level. I personally loved the hip hop room the most. We celebrated my friend’s birthday up there with bottle service and had such a good time.
Came in on a Sunday afternoon. Definitely a country bar has a mechanical bull, pool is free, and has a stage for a live band. On Sundays they were playing reggaeton?? Seemed on given the decor of the place. They service food the sign hanging above the entrance says they were voted best in SF for their BBQ. When asking the bartender she said they updated the menu and its not available. Ordered wings and a brisket sandwich wings were ok but the brisket had so much fat on it, it wasnt worth eating. Pricy beers $7 for draft beer and $8 for bottle. Probably a better place to visit in the evenings when theres live music.
- I order a vodka cranberry at the bar- bartender gives me a vodka Red Bull- I kindly say I ordered a vodka cranberry- bartender disagrees and persists that I said vodka Red Bull, and then begins to argue with me on it.- bartender gives me a dirty look and finally begrudgingly gets me a cranberry vodka with near 0 vodka in it, but still says to my face that I’m lying. Why would I lie about that? What is wrong with that dude? There’s no need to be a rude like that, get over yourself!
Enh, not a fan of venturing into the Marina.. honestly some of the most horrible things ever said to me have been in this neighborhood. This place did the job in a pinch because the Brixton was overrun by Union St Faire revelers. Mostly, its passable bar food and decent drinks, but definitely not exceptional.. and we were there largely for UFC.
I would give 0 stars is if could!!! I had money stolen from my bag when I was denied access to the vip area after downstairs had closed and I was upstairs! We were in the VIP section for a friend’s birthday, so none of my friends would have taken it. Despite my requests to go get my bag, your staff refused to let me back into the area to retrieve my bag, leaving it unattended and after an hour they had given my bag to me, and my money was missing from my bag along with another friend or mine (btw - they were going through my bag right in front of me by the door before giving it back to me)!!
My husband and I had a great time. We came here after a comedy show and arrived very close to the kitchen closing time. We had ordered ahead just to make sure the staff wasnt stuck working late and were greeted by the manager when we arrived. He took great care to ensure our order was correct and delivered in proper time(salads and apps, then mains and dessert). All of the food was very good, my favorite drink was the Espresso martini. Service was overall excellent and the staff was friendly. We would definitely return and will recommend to friends/family!
I visited this place and had a very disappointing experience. The staff at the door were incredibly aggressive and unwelcoming. I wont be coming back and would not recommend this place to anyone.
Very bad bar service on the 1st (main floor) 2 bartenders that I dealt with have very bad attitude. One is old (around 60, with a little long curly gray hair) the other one is a mid 30s Hispanic with a little beard and a hat backwards) bartenders downstairs are very nice, total opposite of the 2 upstairs
It’s a glammed up dive bar with lovely decor, friendly staff, and lots of space. They do free line dancing here on Wednesdays and Thursdays — sounds cheesy, but was awesome fun. (They do it to pop songs)
A fun western bar in the city. A great spot to meet up with friends.
Not been to the main bar - but instead have been to the speakeasy located through the hold in the wall, down the stairs and through the book case/shelf.Really cool spot with a lot of room inside for activities. I enjoyed the pop-up bar that was 90s Blockbuster Video themed and was just a fantastic experience for us 80s babies.
Watched the suberbowl here. This place is full of hard workers, great security when facing capacity, great bar service, and plenty of room. I will be going back.
We went twice to Westwood. The place is divided in 2 rooms. The first room provides pop / all around music and had a bull. The second room provides in R&b, Hip-hop,... overall friendly staff and a nice place to spend the evening.
Nice place in terms of having fun and infra structure. I guess most of the people that usually go there are under 23-25 years old, but its worth checking it out at least once if you havent gone yet.
I wanted to like it--Im from the south. I couldnt eat my meal or the replacement one I got. The food wasnt actually southern in any way, and the music was way too loud. Im giving it two stars because the server was friendly and had a great attitude. Im not glad I went there, and frankly, it wasnt worth the $83 I spent.
In the heart of San Francisco, a twang of southern charm and a boot-stomping good time await at Westwood, the quintessential country music haven. As you step through its swinging doors, youre instantly transported to the sun-soaked plains of Nashville, where the notes of country classics serenade you like an old friend.Westwood, a country music-themed bar thats as authentic as a well-worn pair of cowboy boots, strikes a harmonious balance between urban flair and rustic allure. The interiors, a fusion of reclaimed wood, barn-inspired accents, and a touch of urban grit, evoke the feeling of a true honky-tonk. The low hum of laughter and the clinking of glasses compose a lively soundtrack thats the heartbeat of the establishment. But the crown jewel of Westwood is its mechanical bull, a wild ride that promises thrills and memories in equal measure. As you saddle up, anticipation courses through your veins, and with the tug of a lever, the bull roars to life. Its a dance between rider and machine, a test of skill and tenacity, as you grip the reins and strive to outlast the bucking and spinning.Country music enthusiasts will find solace in the diverse lineup of live performances. From up-and-coming local talents to seasoned crooners, the stage becomes a portal to the soulful heart of Nashville. The melodies of heartache, love, and the open road echo through the space, drawing patrons to the dance floor like a magnet. The libations here are a celebration of southern spirit, with a menu of craft beers, whiskey flights, and signature cocktails that pay homage to country legends. The bartenders, more like storytellers, whip up concoctions that are a fusion of flavors as diverse as the genre itself.Westwood is more than a bar; its a destination where urbanites and country souls converge. A retreat into a world where denim meets diamonds, where the mechanical bulls roar harmonizes with the melodies of the stage, and where the vibrant spirit of country music weaves its magic into the heart of the city.
The staff and the owner of the bar are incredibly rude. Ive never seen this kind of behavior in California. They showed us a place to seat. Weve spent thousands dolar in 1.5 hours. After that, the security guy came to us and said that in this seat you have to order bottle or you have to leave in 2 mins. They showed us this seat to us. They didnt say anything about this and suddenly they came and threat incredibly rude. When we were trying to understand what was happening, the guy said that I dont talk to you and talked to my friend and after that he came again and yelled us.The owner came and behave us rude, humiliating and insulting. Because we didnt obey them without understanding what was happening. I couldnt believe what I lived. It was a really bad experience.
Great club, the entry was 5$, there were 2 floors with 2 moodsId definitely recommend it
Absolute joke of an establishment. Never known a place to charge you for going out for air and coming back in to finish your drinks and pay the tab. For a country that prides itself on customer service, this place lets down an ENTIRE nation. Absolute waste of time, dont waste your money
As a Texan, I appreciate this bar. It can be a little over the top kitschy, but its a nice familiar flavor of home. Staff has always been really nice and attentive, the mechanical bull is a hoot, and they actually have pretty good food. Always a fun time!
Went for early dinner on Friday not knowing what to expect since we never had been there and not familiar with the area, just looking for a quick bite to eat. Place was empty, and the couple we were with said that we could try somewhere else but we decided to stay. We ordered drinks which were reasonably priced and 2 of their promo drinks which included shirts. When our orders arrived we were pleasantly surprised. Everyone ordered something different and the food was delicious. More people filtered in as there was live entertainment that evening. If were ever in the area, we would go back and explore more of the menu. Also, staff was very friendly
Overhyped but a fun place to end up on a late evening out. Lines are now insane, even at 1 am, and their clientele is getting rowdier and ruder. Would avoid unless absolutely necessary to party in this part of town.
Westwood is always an enjoyable experience. Im treated like family when I walk through those doors. I have created close connections with the amazing staff at Westwood and come frequently because its one of my favorite bars in SF.Not only does it provide an amazing country scene, it also recently opened the speakeasy in the back that has more of a hip hop vibe. l normally do bottle service in the speak easy and everybody in my party has an amazing time.Even when we dont do bottle service, we still have an amazing time and are treated with an insane amount of hospitality.I highly recommend visiting this bar if you are in SF.
Please hire new security guards. The two security guards including the older one with glasses on and a beard last night were verbally bullying us (a group of 8 females) for no justifiable reason. We were respecful in the manner and the tone that we spoke with them and got in the long line to get in as instructed. However, when we made it to the front of the line, they lied and did not let us in. How disrespectful and a waste of our time. They were on a power trip for sure but just because they are in a position of power and can control who can get in, doesnt mean treat us poorly or belittle. Ive been here a handful of times on a Sunday but after my experience last night, i will not be returning until this issue is resolved and security guards who are professionals and conduct themselves in a a professional manner are hired. They told us that we better never come back and after being border line verbally abused by them, I dont plan on returning. To management/ownership - check the Google reviews. Issues like this with your hired security guards have been a recurring issue for over 6 months. Why hasnt this been resolved yet? Unless you dont care how customers are treated and spoken to.
The server and bartender gave themselves a 20% tip this was no accident because they did it twice in two different tabs. The worst part is that i was nice enough to tip $50 in cash and they still decided to rip me off. worst experience ever.
Security pulled us aside after a guy stole something from my bf and told my bf not to “look at him like that” or he’ll kick us out super aggressive and wouldn’t let me talk they’re on some power trip here. Overpriced cover and drinks way better places down the block
The guard was very violent. He kicked me out with a really bad reason and he didn’t even let me grab my phone to communicate with my friends (so important for a girl alone in the street). Amazing place but they should take that guy out. Also I paid 5 dollars for the mechanical bull and it got broken after 10 seconds. I’m a really peaceful person but that guy was violent and I had a bad time.
This place is awesome the food is great they have a great chef. You can also enjoy the night life there live DJ who keeps the rock and roll going until the end of time. Just get there early because they have a long line. Its safe and friendly and if you like riding a mechanical bull you came to the right place. 👍👍👍
Bizarre service. My beer was room temperature. I wouldnt go back.
Has mechanical bull, super fun time. Ultra busy though. Takes forever to get in and to get any drinks. crowd us super super yiung
Ah, we were so excited to try this bar as it was described to us as the new hip spot for country. Given SFs dearth of proper country bars, we knew we had to give it a try and, indeed, when we arrived Saturday night the line was far out the door.Long lines are no problem and to be expected. We patiently waited and the bouncers were pretty chill (albeit annoyingly trying to peddle downloads of a fringe dating app to cut the line - weird and unprofessional). We finally get through to find out theres a cover ($10 for guys, $5 for girls). Cash only. And their ATM is broken. We were directed to an ATM down the street and fortunately the bouncer let us back in - only to find that this is a sorry excuse for a country bar. Its more of a country bar for Californians who have never been to a real country bar.1 star review because there are SO many better (and free entry) bars in the Marina to go to - dont waste your time or money at this one! We hung out for 15 minutes and then dipped.
So we went to a 4pm dj party on a Sunday. The music was good so +1 to the DJ. The crowd however was meh, very young girls, getting drunk, weird looking older men around hovering.Honestly if it wasnt for the DJ we wouldve left sooner and we most likely wont go back.
Nice bar, good vibes but they overcharge your credit card later with a much higher tip than you expected.
Their security kicked us out for being indian while they were Black themselves. A lot of crowd agreed with me when i showed the video and the security could not give us an explanation when we showed them the video.Im trying to pursue a legal case against them and already have more than 10 witnesses, ill update yall when i get an update.worst experience since i came to US.
The bouncer (Zyrie) manhandled me and tried to kick me out.immediately after I paid the cover.. Definitely felt like it was racially motivated so would not recommend if you are not white. It was truly incredible to see they suck!!! F Westwood, anywhere else in the marina is better ngl theyre hella racist
Had some good country music on for ambiance. Very attentive wait staff, good beer and the Mac and cheese with ribs was fabulous
Great place we got here at 9 and no cover charge to get in. It was 5$ for riding the bull but free if tou fallow on Instagram. was a great time with a big group of friends. Dance floor opebs at 930 and the party starts and about 11 it gets super packed.
Don’t come to this place… get in before 10, go outside for a cigarette and they make you pay to come back in to get the drinks you have already paid for. Biggest joke of a place.. 0 star all round . Robbing left right and Centre!
Christmas decorations were ok, but didn’t live up to the hype. Bartender did a great job making our drinks though!
God I love this place. For a place thats not at all country, it was a lot fun. Definitely ride the bull and bring some cash too!!!
We were so excited to check out Westwood but were hugely disappointed. The layout is awkward, the crowd is very young, the lights were far too bright and the music could barely be heard in parts of the bar. We’ll stick to Jaxson around the corner.
The music was good on Thursday, it was Latin night, but my jacket got stolen! Do not hang your jacket under the bar if its a cute one..
Followed some young hoochies into this place - figured they knew what was up - and they were right!Cant wait to go back for more Mac & Cheese! While it is an EXTREMELY OVERPRICED starter at $10, it was nice to see a creamy option on their menu! For the Animal Style Totchos, which are tater tot nachos, these too were bomb but SUPER surprised they didnt use the mac & cheese sauce on it... unless they did plus shredded cheese? Unsure, cannot remember, was not sober. Lol.Overall, it is a nice spot and apparently new. My tip would be to turn up the music on a Saturday night though. :)
Very fun and cool experience. Staff were super friendly and sweet. Highly recommend to check out
Beware of their manipulation of tips. On June 3, 2021 a worker at Westwood added $7 to her tip without my permission. I called them 4 times about it and they wouldnt even return my phone calls, let alone my $7.
The mac and cheese is one of the best Ive had! They also have a great selection of finger food and cocktails.
Great ribs! Club during the weekends and most evenings, but the late afternoon is a decent time for a drink or two and some tasty grub.
The worst place in the Marina. The staff is the least LGBTQ+ friendly people on this earth. We faced discrimination like never before. If you believe in equal rights, never ever visit this place.
Not a country music fan? Me either! But they are the exception to the rule! They have a mechanical bull! Live music! 100 different kinds of whiskey!!! Not to mention, a very friendly and smoking hot staff!!
It has two rooms....one for county music and the back room for hip-hop....it gets busy and being in the rich area of the city theres A Lot of ptetty girls!@
Such a cute country vibe here, the interior design is great. They even have an electric bull you can ride. So much fun. HUGE space.
It’s a fine bar. Gets crowded and they will charge cover at night. Food is average
Fun bar and environment to be in. Great live music, I hope they keep bringing in Jose!
I just love this place! Two dance floors, good drinks and also good food.
Super fun place to go with a group of people. Lots of games and space to keep everyone entertained! Great place to meet new people
Best country 🎶 music bar in SF.Avoid the lines before 8 PM, weekends.
Mechanical Bull? Check.Line-dancing? Check.Rocking tunes? Check.Oh yeah, delicious cocktails and grub. Love this spot.
Country bar but also has two rooms. Top 40 and the country room is a mix. Good spot.
The little details in this place are whats up! The The fast paced bartenders know how to keep a packed crowd happy! Cant wait to try the hot chicken!
Great service and super attentive staff. Great atmosphere to watch sports games. Food and drinks are on point.
Lots of fun line dancing!
5 stars all around! Friendly security, nice bartenders, delicious drinks!
Awful service I waited for 2 hours for a drink and ended up leaving instead and the bartender had a terrible attitude
Well priced drinks, good atmosphere
DO NOT GO HERE - they will steal all of your stuff... everyone I know that goes here gets everything they own stolen. DO NOT GO HERE you have been WARNED
The food there is amazing, some of the best BBQ in the area. I highly recommend this place
Great place to drink whiskey (150 different!!). Concert every friday evening.
Very fun experience and kind people. The bull riding is the best experience.
Wonderful place and amazing food everywekend I eat my brunch whit a delicious cocktail
A great time. Good music. Good drinks. Cool place.
Country place - awesome for the 25 - 35 crowd. Seems like a fantastic place to meet people
The vibes were immaculate. enough said
Great bar. Great DJ (Jspades). Check them out
This place is scary. Aggressive bouncers and your belonging will get stolen,
Fun staff and amusing drink options.
Great country bar and underground club. $5 cover tho!
They have a bull that you can ride.. i think..
Wallet was stolen out of my purse here last night. Apparently this is not unusual.
Only got the espresso martini and it was terrible. Go across the street to balboa.
The mechanical bull is awesome!!! food and drinks are great too.
Love the vibe. Live music on Thursdays. Peanut butter in burger!
Something for everyone here!
Great service average food good prices
Oof this bar loves to play R Kelly. RUN the other way.
Had more fun than I thought and I don’t even like country

Great place, good vibe
Typical American bar .loud music a bull and alcohol what possible could go wrong

Nice place!
What a scam.
Fun spot !
Great atmosphere
Very nice!!!
Also NO. The staff is really unfriendly. Even though there was a moment of difficulty, they preferred to pretend nothing had happened and didnt worry in the slightest. The prices of the drinks are decidedly different.Music is okPersonally I find it not worth it
Great restaurant, good food, great music
Super tasty sandwiches at normal (San Francisco) prices. We only took some food with us, so no review of the bar itself (except that it was really unbearably loud).
Super cool bar with live music on Fridays. Delicious food, nice bartenders, great atmosphere and nice people.
Went there on Wednesday to have something to eat and drink. We were thrilled with the quality of the food, rarely had such delicious sandwiches and burgers.
Super delicious food and drink at reasonable prices
Guaranteed fun and good beers
It is a place to have a good time with friends
Excellent chicken wings of different flavors.
Cool pub! Nice staff6
