Don’t go. OVERPRICED entrance fee for Santa Cruz. Drinks are over priced. You are better off at Rosie’s or motiv. No good greeting whatsoever. Feel like staff doesn’t know what they’re doing, security especially. Need to promote it better and make it a place people actually want to go to. No one inside. Save your money for other bars in downtown. The grupo and bandas are good though. Everything else 🚮🗑️
Walked in and had my ID checked my a very welcoming guard. He thanked us for going and hoped we had a great time. There is a coat check if needed which is a nice bonus. New furniture, plenty of screens to watch music videos while the DJ plays music. However, we ordered a Lemon Drop and the bartender was confused. We showed him the recipe and he said they didn’t have simple syrup. We opted for a vodka cran, a little disappointed. When we got the bill, we saw we were charged $40 for two drinks that tasted like cough medicine. Beware, as it seems like the overcharging might be a common trend based on another review. We stayed for about 45 mins, hoping more people would come is as there was only 5 of us (I counted). Not sure if it’s the bartenders lack of experience, the marketing, or the overpriced drinks but this place truly needs some work.
Before entering Monaco you’re greeted with extremely friendly security which was a great start and the ambience is really nice with beautiful fixtures great music and graphics. However there is alot of room for growth, one being the bartenders who could not provide in making a lemon drop. I opted out and instead asked for a cran vodka with Tito’s, which ended up being a bit overpriced if you ask me given previous reviews it seems the trend is to overcharge for mid tier self drinks. I do although believe if they higher adequate staff and better marketing it has the potential in being a great club.
Make sure you pay attention to your receipt when paying with card. I attended this place for the first time they seem to overcharge for drinks & add stuff you didn’t order. I ordered two Palomas, which each Paloma is $15 which should’ve been $30, but they overcharged me for $70+ then when I went to the waitress and let her know that she was charging me for some thing that I didn’t ordered, she grabbed the manager and took a good 15 minutes to refund me back. She then came and notified me that they were going to refund me but charged me for the drinks that i had ordered which was $30 she gives me my new receipt which showed they were now charging me $60 when it should’ve been $30 the receipt never stated what they were charging me for. I end up requesting my refund and pay cash for this transaction. The second receipt they gave me didn’t state that my transaction was voided. However, they thought solving the issue was writing void on my receipt. Just be careful when purchasing drinks from them especially with CARD!!!! I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! It was a terrible experience.
Good drinks, Latin dance music! Our group had so much fun!
Place was pretty dead for a weekend and one of the women working there was very pretentious snobbyThe place did not have a good atmosphere for a weekend. And a skinny lady with black hair acted very pretentious. I dont plan to return
