This was my first visit, saw New Found Glory. It was great, the staff was great all through the VIP process. I was front row and the security was on the ball with all the crowd surfing. I was pleasantly surprised that security also walked around handing out small cups of water. They also answered any questions that were asked of them.
- very nice music venue with a great sound engineer. Not too loud or too low whoever is in charge of the sound does a great job. Nice lighting as well.- security and staff are on point here. Always watching and monitoring everything and everyone, help people in need quickly and make sure everyone inside is safe.- decent mid size venue with standing and balcony sitting.- prices for everything are normal for the area.- parking isnt that bad to find in the area.- check bag policy before going everywhere is changing and so is this place.- place was clean and organized.- always feel safe here and enjoy my time seeing bands.- overall a great experience each time. Id recommend this location.
Great place and highly recommend to catch a show here! My only complaint would be the wires and cables hanging from the scaffold that obstructed our view. Particularly, to the left of the stage, the dangling cables could’ve been organized and stored better in order to not obstruct the view from the balcony.
I have attended several concerts here and have always had a good time. The drinks and food are average ballpark/concert prices. A tall boy was $15. Food was somewhere between $5-15. Other mixed drinks were about the same as the tall boys. Parking (I have only ever used parking garages near here) is pretty easy in the area and only a couple bucks through the ParkMobile app. There are seats on the second floor and plenty of standing room. Restrooms aren’t bad but they do get really busy after the concert and in between sets like most places. My most recent concert was for Our Last Night. I have attached a photo of my experience also hoping to get it to whoever he was! It was a good time! I will definitely be back to attend more concerts here.
Attended ScHoolboy Q’s show here a few nights ago and had a great experience! Security/ticket lines were quick, staff was friendly, bathrooms were clean, and plenty of areas to order drinks. Free water as well!My main complaint is that merch sold out before the show even started😭 (but that’s not the venue’s fault).Perfect venue for an intimate concert experience!
We loved The Fillmore & the staff especially. Attended a Thursday night show. Parking was easy in the nearby parking garage (metered spots so parking was only a couple of dollars) and a short, safe walk away. Very clean venue and bars are easily accessible. Merch is easy to view in the lobby area. The floor was packed for a rock concert, we went upstairs to see if a short girl like me could get a better view. We asked about the reserved seating tables (with waitresses!) and the staff kindly went out of their way to show us where GA sections were and explained the reserved upgraded seating without pressuring us to purchase. They welcomed us as newcomers and had a smile on their face the whole time. We ended up upgrading but loved that we didn’t feel pressured. Security was so kind entering & leaving the venue. Quick entry but felt secure. We ESPECIALLY loved that staff were handing out water in the crowded “pit”. While we weren’t down there, we understand how overheated it can get in a mosh and thought that was so cool to pass out water for everyone.
Enjoyed every minute of the experience once we were in the venue. If its your first time when you go there for event, heed this one piece of advice. Go one hour earlier, get the lay of the land around the venue (the parking in particular), and youll have a great time!Good acoustics, intimate experience, and ample services for the size and category.Well go there again, for sure!
Recently saw Joyner Lucas and Dax perform at the Fillmore, and had a great time. The venue is on the smaller side, but I thought that was a plus as you have a more intimate experience. Also, the venue made me feel very safe with their security, and entrance protocols. Also, parking was very easy, and cheap with a public parking garage about 1 block away from the venue.
The process of getting in is pretty headache free and the staff make it easy. The venue is pretty small though so I would recommend getting there early so that you’re at the front of the line when doors open. Moshing and crowd surfing ARE allowed. Staff make sure surfers make it to the ground safely. At one point an actual fight did break out in the pit and they did a good job resolving it quickly and with minimal distraction. Free water was given between sets like most of the reviews mention.Food and drink is card only but there is a cash-to-card machine in the basement bar.(PS: there’s a 24 hour Taco Bell next to it. Great place to eat after a night of screaming and headbanging.)
This is one of my favorite venues. My fiancé and I took our 3yo daughter to a show last night (The Amity Affliction) and the staff were super friendly and helpful! They gave our daughter a sticker that said “My 1st concert” and gave her a stool to stand at barricade. This was a great venue for her very first concert. Thank you Fillmore Silver Spring! ❤️
Nice venue. Clean bathrooms. Good drinks. Minus 1 star because when I called for set times it said the DJ was opening. So I purposely came late thinking Id miss the DJ. Instead the group I wanted to see went on 1st and I completely missed them other than 1 song 1 member of the group did with the DJ near the end of his set.Main act was great.Venue needs to make sure set times are up to date on your automated phone system.
Hello Fillmore Crew, thanks for setting up a great show for our last night, yesterday evening. I had initially came by after work with my work bag. Its now 10 dollars for the bag charge, and there is an updated list posted out front for the prohibited items too. The staff were reasonable and accommodated my concerns about throwing away my empty water bottle. I got to keep it in my bag. Thank you silver spring Fillmore for housing some of the greatest live events ive been to.P.S.Ill have to show some of you my vintage book on the now gone Fillmore east one day. Much love, Grey
This is my first ever time coming to the Fillmore. Ive always wanted to come here but I live in Richmond, VA and no bands that I like come to Richmond. Every band I want to see either come to the many venues in DC or go to Norfolk, VA. Im glad I finally came I saw Crosses here and I loved every minute.
Very intimate setting- drinks are pretty well priced, the staff is professional and courteous, and the place is relatively well-maintained. Parking is cheap, close by, and plentiful. Love that place- have been going there for years and will continue to do so!
Saw Marilyn Manson there this past Saturday. I haven’t been to the venue in 7 years or so. It is drastically better than I remember. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Security were on it, they weren’t just throwing people out unless they absolutely needed to. They made sure everyone was okay and having a great time. I will absolutely start attending more shows here in the near future.
Awesome place to see a show! The floor is huge, but if you need to get away from the crowds, the balcony is available. Coat check available, ample bars. Takes a while for the smoking section to open up, but they have an area to go outside if thats your thing. Close to the metro, but also plenty of garages. If you park at the mall its less than $5
Had a great time! Got to meet my favorite Tech N9ne. Sat center stage premier seating (photos attached), which included my own server. I didnt have to wait for drinks, and there was easy access to the restroom, so i cant comment on the bars downstairs. Drinks were a little steep, and the selection was okay. Facility was reasonably clean, and the staff was exceptionally friendly. There was plenty of air ventilation, so I didnt get hot while watching the show.
Nice venue for not so big artists. It get full very fast. Clean bathrooms and lots of security. The bar is always lacking one thing or the other but thats not really a deal breaker for me. Cheap parking across the street and easy access to and from the beltway!
Convenient parking. Made it in and out quickly, though I had an early admission ticket and didnt use many facilities. Strong drinks from friendly bartenders. Security passed out water and were courteous. Had a great time
The Fillmore is a nice venue to see great artists. You can stand on the floor or stand on the upper levels. Or you can pay more and sit on the higher levels. There are bathrooms on the top level, 3rd floor, and the bottom level. There are bars on the top and bottom as well. If you are on the top level by the stage, you will have a blocked view from the speakers. Since the main area is flat, you will have a hard time viewing the concert. Many other venues have a tilted floor for better viewing but not the Fillmore. This venue has great concerts but horrible viewing areas. You have to pay to sit and those seats are expensive. The concerts have been short where the main act plays for about an hour and there is at least 30 minutes between the opening act and main act. Overall it’s a good venue, but it is not a good design. Also, I have a suggestion to have ear plugs available.
I had a wonderful experience with a recent Blues show and called for handicap seats and it was very easy to reserve two seats on the second floor for my wife and myself. The entire staff treated me very professional and pleasant. I will definitely recommend the Fillmore for future events.
Very clean venue. Staff very courteous and friendly. Great crowd vibe. My only complaint is that it seemed like the A/C was off. It was 100 degrees outside and felt like that temperature inside as well. Not sure if it was broken but I highly recommend to bring a fan or you will be miserable. Recommend parking at the town square garage for less than 3 bucks - only a 3 minute walk to the venue.
Fantastic venue. Was there last night for Static-X show. From the guy checking my bag at door to all the staff, bartenders etc., everyone was kind, professional, courteous and just awesome. Not a single negative thing to say at all. Meet and greet staff also amazing people. Thanks for a great night. Would travel 3 hours again from NJ to this venue.
The Fillmore Silver Spring is a fun place to see a show. Been sold out packed everytime Ive been there. If you dont mind standing the whole time, try to get in early to get close to the front. If you prefer sitting, get balcony row A. Row B can be limited view while sitting which makes you have to stand. Employees have all been awesome!
The Filmore is a nice sized venue for small/medium events. I went Sunday for the Luv is 4vr your and it was a packed, sold out event.I recommend getting to your event at least 45 minutes to an hour before doors open for your event as the line will be wrapped around the block. They (Filmore staff) were giving out water, but mostly to those who were close to the stage, however you could go to the bar and ask for a bottle of water or get some water out the water dispenser. The one thing I truly disliked was the fact that it was sooo hot. There were bursts of cool air periodically but it was very hot, sticky, and stuffy in there, my friend was getting light headed from the heat alone.Lastly, its a standing only venue with the exception of the reserved balcony seats. I was in the back but I was able to see pretty good and in not that tall.Outside of that, the venue, the staff, and security at the venue were great. Cant wait to go back for another event.
Very good venue. Ive been to several shows at the Filmore, and its usually full. The sound is good. I normally get Gen admission, but got balcony because Helloween was my daughters first concert experience. She did well, but was very tired after a day of school and being out late, so she turned into a pumpkin. I will go there again, and I think she will too. Only gave 4 stars because the concessions are terribly overpriced and the portions are small. $12 for two tacos made with ground beef? LAME!
Saw VNV Nation and thoroughly enjoyed the show. The venue is smaller, roughly the size of 9:30 Club, but I liked it. The stage is at the perfect height with accommodating sightlines from wherever in General Admission, even at 56. The acoustics were great! Both the sound and volume were well balanced with the music coming through and the sound loud enough to be a concert without deafening you. I was also kind of impressed with their lighting. It felt like a much bigger venue in that regard. The drinks are priced on par with other venues in the DC Metro area but I particularly liked the option of a double. Essentially, two shots of liquor with your mixer which is not only economical, but also permits you to watch the show rather than getting another drink.Security was friendly and it felt safe. There are multiple garages within a block or two to park and even saw street parking available.
I dont get cold easily but it was FREEZING. Their HVAC was on full blast blowing cold air the entire time; its on the ceiling so there wasnt anywhere I could stand to escape it. Really made the show hard to enjoy and I was on the verge of leaving despite wearing a hoodie. Several other people in the crowd were also shivering.I did talk to one of their staff about this and they told me it should switch to heat soon (that never happened). It wouldve been a lot easier to tolerate if they just turned the fans down so it didnt feel like I was in a wind tunnel. Also seems like they need to adjust the bass. It seemed overly pronounced to the point the performing artist made a comment about it messing up her vocals.
Great live venue! I’ve been here twice (to see Rema and then Mahalia) and both times were a lot of fun! The security always made sure there was water being passed around and they had the AC blasting! The only negative is getting pushed around sometimes by the crowd but that is not something the venue can always control. Otherwise great place to see artists in a more intimate setting and parking is usually easy to find - plus there are a bunch of food places nearby if the concert ends in time to grab a bite.
It was great being at The Fillmore. Its a really nice space. The air conditioner was on blast, so I didnt really get hot until the last set of the show. I didnt even realize there was a lower level with a full bar and thats where the restrooms were. It was a very great night of seeing Vended, Orbit Culture, Fit For an Autopsy and In Flames.5/22/23 update: Ive seen more shows here since and the experience has been nice every time and all of the shows have been great.
Fantastic venue! Love seeing some of my favorite heavy metal bands here. Good sound for live music. Temps kept comfortable when there’s a big crowd. There’s a bar, roomy reserved seated areas that have excellent views. Super easy to navigate different levels once inside. There’s often a coat check available. Extra Bonus: Massive public parking garage right next to it which always has spaces available.
Dont get me wrong as I love the venue and the staff here, especially because they always have my favorite artists and staff has seemed to really care about the guests, being very attentive with water cups and having very effective crowd control tactics. It has also always been very clean and they pump the AC which helps when you are in a crowded room jumping all around. But, if you are the type of person that loves being up close to the stage, this is not the venue for you. They offer way too many upgrades which make it difficult to get a good spot upfront. Meanwhile, you could sit in line WITH a fast lane ticket for 5 hours and still end up over 20 rows back from the stage. Especially when they sell last minute VIPs to people in the GA line, doubling the amount of VIPs despite it being sold out online. Its a shame because I love the location and venue but the upgrades are a pure money grab and they are ruining the experience for me. Especially the vertigo lounge upgrade which is falsely advertised and does not get you into the actual venue early as it states online. These are just things to consider if you really want a great view and experience at this venue.
The staff and security at the venue are phenomenal. They were quick to respond when people were in need. The one security guard was sweet and wrapped and safely secured our merchandise near the stage. The place was packed and the security would also assist with working you through the crowd. Also, they were passing out cups of water throughout the entire show. The bathrooms were clean and the venue itself was nice.
Saw The Menzingers on 11/18. Amazing show. Parking at nearby garages was convenient. Plenty of places within walking distance to grab dinner before the show. Getting inside the venue was easy and quick. The venue has great security and I felt safe. The staff seemed well trained to help crowd surfers. The only issue is that I paid $43(!!!) for 2 drinks but we always expect the price gouging at events.
I had my ID taken as a suspected fake at the door, and while I was sympathetic to that (admittedly, it is bent and out of state), the rudeness from both ID checkers, the security guards, and the police officer that ran (and verified, might I add) my ID was totally uncalled for. We were scoffed at, eye-rolled at, ignored, talked-down to, and spoken to with passive aggression. One of the security guards and the police officer were even bad mouthing us while we stood 5ft away. If the main performer hadnt been late we would have missed the first 20 minutes of the show (we missed part of the opener instead - who we still paid for) and we werent so much as offered an apology for the confusion let alone the attitudes or the delay. Our treatment was so offensive that Im still pressed about it days later. The bartenders inside were lovely, but I paid $15 for a single shot vodka soda which is insane in general but especially for MARYLAND. I dont intend on coming back - there are MUCH better venues in the DMV area.
Went to a metalcore show here. Had genuinely nice interactions with all the staff I encountered, and the team working security in front of the railing did a phenomenal job. Unfortunately though, I agree with every review about overselling and it being crowded. The headliner asked us to do that thing where everyone gets low to pop back up, but there wasnt even room enough to squat down. The density clearly created high tensions within the crowd. I focused on the show and on having a good time and was able to do that. But there were a lot of people being snippy and irritable, overly aggressive verbally and physically, etc.. It was not hard to draw a line between cause and effect in an overcrowded space that pretty much discouraged pit/crowd etiquette.I was also alarmed by how long exiting the venue took and by the fact that a band was allowed to set up merch in front of one set of doors on the exit path (not the bands fault, Im sure.) It painted a clear picture of just how bad things might have been if there had been an emergency requiring a swift evacuation.I will probably only return to this venue for acts on my cant-miss list and might even travel to a diff nearby city if thats an option. The stress and the environment that fosters high tensions in the crowd just isnt worth it for anything less.
If youre not tall, expect to be in the front of GA on the floor, pay $$$$ for premium seating, or be unable to see. The sightlines from the balcony are a bit of a joke in the GA area, if the people in premium seating decide to stand up, which they usually do for a hype show. I had the best spot you can get in the GA balcony and I struggled to see the entire night.Theres also monitors, but they are mounted so high that you have to look straight up to see them, and then all youll see is a video feed quality that rivals someones 1998 camcorder. It was laughably bad picture quality for 2024. One static shot of the stage from the back of the room that showed no more detail than if a person was on stage or not.It was also hot and smelly. Seemed to be no noticeable ventilation and with dozens lighting blunts in there it quickly became inundated with smoke.Ive seen other shows here over the years and knew it was not my favorite venue, but didnt remember experiencing difficulty seeing the action this badly. Maybe premium seating used to be part of GA. Idk. But I probably wont be back.
Such a cool venue in downtown Silver Spring not too far from the metro. Not a bad spot in the place as its on the smaller side giving it an intimate feel. Bars flank both sides of the stage and bathrooms are downstairs so lines arent spilling out onto the show floor. Theres a small balcony with pricier seats, but not a thing wrong with GA floor space. One of the cleanest venues Ive visited as well.
This was my first time at The Filmore and I had a great time. Went to see DVSN. I love that the venue was fully staffed and everyone was friendly. The wait outside wasn’t long at all once the doors open we got in fast. I like that it has a lounge downstairs, balcony seating, tables and coat check. The show started late but ivv be still enjoyed myself and can’t wait to visit again! Oh a security was A1 they were passing out water I thought that was very important because it got packed in there and it was hot. It was a girl near me who was not responding when another girl asked if she was ok. So she got Security attention right away and came by and grabbed her immediately and got help. That really made me feel safe that security was making sure everybody was safe so 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Thank you 😊
Saw Trixie Mattel here last night. Checkin procedure was not the smoothest, as there were multiple people being confused as to where to line up. But the line moved fast, and security and checkin was quick. Prices are insane for the drinks, and you get so much ice. With the Red Line on the Metro closed for the summer, not the most convenient venue to get to with public transit from downtown DC. It was so hot inside, but they gave out free water cups, but that was only at the front. If you were in the middle or back, you have to ask at the bars (which had long lines).
Ive been going to this venue for years and never had an issue. The staff has always been friendly, the venue has always been clean, plenty of free parking nearby and restaurants in the area to grab a bit before or after the show. The staff really tries their best for everyone to have a great experience. Drink prices are average for any venue. Great spot for music!
My daughter had a medical emergency at the show on August 3,2024. She was bumped and her water cup flew out of her hand and my 115 lb, 5’3 daughter who was in the middle of a panic attack was man handled by a 300 lb and had her shoulder dislocated when he yanked her.She was denied entry back in the show. I was also not allowed back in ( I stayed with my daughter out front but “ off the premises”.After standing 2 hrs in pouring rain , waiting months and spending hundreds for tickets. Never again will I support their venue.
I love this place. Every show has been fabulous. Some of the best, Reggae bands and musicians, to come to the DMV throw down here. Just saw Stephen and Damian Marley just a few weeks ago for my birthday. Best present my wife could have thought of. And I am glad she thought well in advance because these hot shows sell out fast. The Fillmore in Silver Spring is a great venue. Glad it is local enough to catch shows there on the regular. There are no photos to the post of the last show. Too much dancing was going on and I didnt want to miss a minute of the concert!
Accessibility note: I’m a women’s size 22 and the seats were too small for me. Originally I was in a balcony seat but there wasn’t enough space for me and the metal on the side of the chair was digging into my side. I asked to be moved to the ADA seating which is more spread out but still has the same seats. It was better but still very uncomfortable. Also the ac was on high so it was kinda hard to hear the people talking and it was way too cold (and I don’t get cold easily).
Decent place to see live acts in the DC metro area. It would be better if they had more seating for upgrading from general admission/standing. As it is, they have a small table service area at the back of the balcony and stadium two rows of (super tight) stadium seats along the two sides that are self service. Drinks are very expensive. Decent sound system. Near silver spring metro station (4 blocks or so) on the red line.
Sound is amazing. Upper balconies have a grated protector obstructive view of the stage though. Should be changed to tempered glass for better views when sitting.
Nice venue but no seating. Just be prepared to stand the entire time. There are not even seats at the bar. Drinks are also priced really high as most concert venues.
This venue constantly oversells tickets. There were far too many people packed in this venue. Its like this everytime. I couldnt move anywhere and the guy in front of me was literally trying to record the entire concert on his phone. So we paid to come here and see the show through a phone. The bar is obscenely expensive. The bartender told me he could take cash but couldnt give me change? Then I hear later that the bar is cashless, so I guess the guy pocketed my money. Nice. Also, $17 for an Angry Orchard Cider? Really? It was actually $20 for me...because...ya know...no change. The sound was terrible. Some bands were louder than others. The opening bands just sounded muffled.
I went to see Shy Glizzy on Friday, May 26th and the staff was very nice. This is my 2nd time visiting here & the venue is always clean. When you arrive to the venue, the security outside are very helpful when it comes to finding the right line. The queue runs smooth from checking your bag/person to your ticket being scanned to enter the venue. The bartenders are nice as well. However the alcoholic beverages are overpriced. When i came in February, a regular margarita was $15 now this time it was $16 for a strawberry margarita. So a $1 extra for fruity syrup? Smh where Im from about 45 minutes away, these drink are about $10-$12. The air is on full blast when you arrive but by the time the show starts, its so hot. Security pass out cups of water to the crowd during the show which is nice.
Just an amazing venue all around. Its clean, and security is the absolute best.
Staff were very polite and helpful. Security did an awesome job with crowd surfers. Clean facility and clean bathrooms. Easy access parking. Great venue to see a show.
The Fillmore Silver Spring was a bit of a disappointment. While the view to the stage from upstairs was good for most, the venue on a mid 70* day was boiling hot. No sir moving, no air conditioning to speak of. I’m unsure why this was the case as it wasn’t very warm outside. Beyond this, they charge $5 for a can Liquid Death of water. When we asked for a cup to use the public water dispenser (free) we were met with a no. Hydration shouldn’t be so costly, especially since they can’t even cool the place.
Had a wonderful experience attending a concert of a favorite band that doesnt tour the US often. Well worth the trip from Raleigh, NC. Will absolutely attend again if a show we want to see come through.
Great venue with decent space, friendly staff, and good bartenders. Drinks are pricey at $13 a draft but thats to be expected. Come early, and be mindful of what you can and cannot bring.- Vapes are allowed ( unless restricted by the performing acts) as are cigarettes, however Tanks are the best choice as any bottles of juice are not allowed. There is an out door smoking section as well.- No knives or suspicious combinations of things. (Possibly dangerous materials if combined, etc.).- No flashlights ( I brought my EDC and had to give it to someone of site to watch.)- Saw some dudes wearing fanny packs as chest sashes, vests also work to hold belongings, purses with thin strings probably arent great for rock concerts. Youll have to empty your pockets for inspection before entering with a full body metal detector sweep, ankle check, and ID check.- Have one drink before going if you are on a budget. As always plan a ride home for safe travel too.Now for some positives. This was my first concert Ive ever been to. A buddy from out of town pulled me in as something to do. It was fantastic. Everyone was nice, understanding, and clearly communicated(a difficult task in a metal concert environment). Drinks were served cold and by friendly staff who appreciated tips (Make sure to tip and plan ahead for it 😉). There were merchandise stands off to the side, active security, and police on standby due to recent events in America as a whole. The whole experience was fun, inviting safe, and a must go for anyone in Silver Spring. Bars and restaurants open late nearby provide food options up to about 11pm. Silver spring and Takoma are a few blocks walking distance and cover charge for our show was about $40 with another guy who was more frequently there saying hes paid as high as $83.( Check for your specific show before going.)Overall, for a first time concert goer, Ill be back, and Ill tell others about this great medium sized spot with affordable prices and close to metro.
Great venue for a concert. We didnt want to stand the whole concert, so purchased seating in the VIP section. Prices for food and drinks were surprisingly reasonable, given the event. We had the churros, and they were delicious. We were close enough to the stage to see clearly, and comfortable in the seats with a table and wait staff. Overall, I would definitely look forward to going back again, and strongly recommend the VIP package.
Such an iconic venue. We were recently there to see The Dirty Loops and the staff could not have been more welcoming especially during the “meet & greet.” A very special thanks to Dre in security.
This place gets crazy packed and Marylanders are a rowdy bunch so if youre gonna see someone high energy, expect to be jammed in like a bunch of sardines and have physical run-ins with the crowd. If youre young and love that kind of atmosphere then more power to you, but 30-somethings and up are going to struggle here.
It was definitely illegal to fit that many people in one space. People were getting physical with me and yelling at me for just trying to leave.. thats how tightly packed in there it was. Drove 3 hours to see my favorite artist and was forced to leave before even seeing him considering i couldnt stand in even the farthest spot away without getting nearly trampled. They were still letting lines of people in when i left…
Ive seen great bands here, but the venue itself is not so great. Hyper priced drinks, and on one occasion, on a 38 degree day, the place was so cold, the entire concert we were shivering. It made me not want to go back to this venue.
No re entry, BOOO! But I get it. Its for our safety, and so you dont get hammered in your car and act a fool when you come back. Every time I go, there sound is always top notch where most other venues have a mixing issue, the filmore, never disappoints! TRIVIUM is epic on their own, but I have heard some mixes do terrible things to epic metal bands. The filmore has a top-notch crew and a pretty great staff, that 8$ pretzel 6 for the pretzel and 2 for cheese was regrettable that sh*t needs work for sure. I want to give 4 stars for that bit, but I was there for a show, not a pretzel. I love the venue though!
Worst concert venue Ive ever been to. I honestly dont know how its legal to cram SO MANY people into one space. I am claustrophobic and literally had to leave without even seeing the main performance I paid for and had waited 3+ months to see. I will definitely never go there again.
Good venue. Just don’t buy the access to the lounge the vertigo lounge. Worse than a bowling alley. Bad food super expensive and missing beers. No tap beer and only shots available
We went 4 Masegos 2nd sold-out night. We have premium VIP seating. The staff I worked with was excellent. Our seats were right in the middle. Yes I said seats. Pay extra as its worth it. Our server was very attentive. The food was good. Of course we didnt come 4 the food so dont expect much and sure it was much higher than what u pay at a bar but nothing unexpected. The venue is a nice venue. For those who dont mind standing all night it seemed like GA was nice from our POV. But there r some truly tall people in the world & I would have been mad being stuck behind them. All in all it is a nice venue & perfect place to catch amazing artists perform. Will definitely go back and definitely have premium VIP seating. So glad this was an option.
Up-grade to premium seating was well worth it. Great concert, met new great people. Beverages a little high, but expected. bands on point all night. The only negative was the confusion of all the lines in front of the venue. We got vertigo lounge tickets but there were several lines for meet and greet, fast pass etc.
I really loved the hotel room, awesome staff, I honestly think they could’ve added a fan in the bathroom be Ayse when you take a hot shower it makes the whole room humid. Overall great!
Can someone tell the gentlemen in security that a light used for transportation, commonly referred to as a bike light is neither a laser pointer nor is it LED gloves, or LED microlights used for light shows. Further still, its not a flashlight, which is what the manager, busy doing his job of sucking an e-cigarette, referenced as a non-existent policy to justify his harassment against us.
I loved this venue. Its centrally located, well staffed and well maintained. Plenty of bar space and bartenders. Bathrooms were clean and the acoustics were excellent.
The venue itself was great! Very well organized getting people in and clean. I definitely don’t recommend the balcony row b because it’s kinda hard to see behind row a, and absolutely under no circumstances get seats 1-6, your seats are over the stage so you mostly see their backs so it was kind of a bummer. Show was amazing regardless. At the immediate end of the show as soon as the lights came on the employees started screaming in everyone’s faces the venue was closed to make their way to the exits and look I get it we’re all tired and I want to go home too, but maybe organize one person or a repeat recording over the speakers because that was kinda chaotic.
This place runs like a well oiled machine! The staff is great, security is attentive and knows whats going on, the stage crew was amazing and they have a crew that comes through in between each band and passes out water to the front rows. Thats true responsible club ownership!! Its expensive but its a concert venue, I expect that. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is the all ages thing. There were little kids on the floor, right next to the pit on a weeknight at 11pm. It made me uncomfortable just watching it. I understand the value of all ages for shows, however, 18+ or even 16+ is reasonable but 5 year olds (in my humble opinion) dont belong next to the pit at a metal show.
The artist we went to see last night was amazing as always but this venue was terrible. We drove from Pittsburgh. When we got to The Fillmore, it was somewhat difficult to find parking, not knowing the area at all.It was in the 30’s outside and they had the *air conditioning* blasting for the entirety of the show and I was shivering while still wearing my winter coat. Made it kinda hard to enjoy the show and it was blowing so hard my hair kept blowing in my face. It felt like I was standing at an outdoor show.As my favorite artist started her last song of the night, I could smell heat—and then I felt it. They turned the heat on for the last five minutes of the show. Thanks a lot Fillmore. Also we each got one drink from the bar. One Yuengling beer was $15 and one single Jack and Diet Coke was $16 and the lady had the *nerve* to try to upsell me a double for $19.I can buy an entire bottle of Jack Daniels at the liquor store for $23. Wow.Great show; awful, brutally cold venue.
Very organized! I went to a Amy Winehouse tribute here. Entering the facility was hassle free. Be prepared to have your bags checked and be wanded and pat down. Dont expect a great eating menu, it was also pricey. However there are great eating places all around! There are 3 levels but the 3rd level is VIP that is where you can be seated while watching the show. There are no seats on the main floor which is the stage floor.
Great Venue, saw Wale, Lightshow and Glizzy there. In a good neighborhood with a mall across the street. I would get to shows on the early side, as there tends to be a line outside. The venue is midsized, smaller than the Kennedy Center or The Anthem, holding about 2000 people. Additionally, the space can be rented by individuals for concerts or events.
Great place to see live concerts. Main floor is standing room only. Have a coat check and restroom on lower level. Bars on multiple levels
The Fillmore doesnt get the big name acts that the DC venues get, like the 9:30 Club, Black Cat or the Anthem. But, its a great venue. I was going to give it 4 stars but really had no reason not give them 5. Its easy to get to by Metro, the floor and balcony layouts give you good opportunities to see the stage well, the audience (for the show I went to) didnt crowd me or invade my space, and most of all the people working there were super nice. I saw bouncers in front of the stage giving people water, they resolved some scuffle in seconds, and checked to make sure everyone was ok, and the line moved quickly getting in out of the cold.I stood on the second balcony and had a pretty decent view, the first balcony has VIP seating so looks like its worth it to last extra if you want to sit. The lighting and chandeliers were gorgeous.
Great venue. Atmosphere is turned up to 100. Great energy. Close to the artists. Great tables on the second level and at a great price. Great serving staff. Definitely coming back.
Great local venue for live music. Standing room only with a VIP section on the second floor with tables (very expensive). They also have reserved seating on the second level, on the side. When they first opened I was able to pay $25.00 for a seat. The last time I went they wanted $125.00, and they sold out. Just goes to show you how much expendable income people have in Montgomery County. I gave a four star rating only because of the outrageous cost of the paid seating. Otherwise the venue is great and they bring fantastic acts to the area.
Great venue! Staff was friendly. Security were awesome guys, definitely concerned with your safety and helpful!
Forcibly grabbed by a staff member when I had ice in my reusable cup. I asked where to drain it and she physically dragged me back inside the venue to drain the ice water in my cup. I have a literal bruise on my arm.
Great time seeing Orbit Culture, Fearfactory, and Machine Head. We were able to upgrade and get a table to sit and enjoy the fantastic show. Great service for the drinks. It was a great time and lunch looking forward to the next show.
The show was amazing. The crowd was rude, and I could barely get out of it to use the restroom because people would not let you through. Other than that it was good.
Club was very cold inside despite good crowd. So they need a set of inner doors to help insulate the main hall or music venue. Beer overpriced.Good acoustics for the 2 bands we saw.
Great place to catch a show, short walk from metro and good food options nearby. Would go again if Im in that part of the world!
This venue has decent views from wherever you are standing and the sound quality is great! The lighting is always solid here. As others have said the drinks are a bit pricey here. Additionally, the A/C is always blasting in the back third of the venue. The whole show a lot of people were complaining about being cold and it can be a bit of a distraction during the concert.
Just saw skinny puppy there! Great venue, amazing staff, and incredibly responsive. A guy fell out and the staff really didnt miss a beat to get him help. They got him before the people standing next to him knew what was happening. The venue is incredibly safe with a really welcoming environment. The venue was packed and nobody was being harassed. Nothing but positivity for silver springs and the fillmore!
A bit too small for the crowd capacity on a Saturday night show. Drink service was fast and restrooms were kept clean.
The head of the security is a man in his 70s (Beny) who seriously thinks this venue is his home and we are all guests there.... totally insulted my family when we prearranged to bring a gift to the singer. He treated us as if we are bringing food into a prison with all sorts of comments that were amazingly rude. And this macho reaction was simply because I was trying to point out his colleagues in spoken with who were standing right behind him. What a stereotypical shovinistic attitude of a man who was born in the 50s.
We came for a New Found Glory concert and they were amazing! We ordered drinks and food (a bit overpriced but expected). We paid additional for VIP passes. When we ordered our food, we ordered sliders but the waitress said we could not make any changes to the food which was odd because we were only asking for the toppings to be left off (onions, tomatoes, and sauce). Didnt ruin our time but will certainly eat somewhere else next time.
The venue was disorganized and slow at checking people through the doors. In their hurry we got shuffled about with little direction and were confused. The show started an hour late because they hadnt gotten everyone in the doors yet and the band wanted everyone who bought tickets to be able to see the show. Kudos to the band! And at the end of the night they wanted to close the main hall to clean and caused confusion for the merchandise line which added a lot of time if you were waiting to buy something. Soda was outrageously priced for a red solo cup of pop... All in all I wasnt very impressed with this venue and if you get standing room only dont be short or you aint gonna see nothing except peoples hands or heads...the band was awesome though and was worth the experience at least one. Not sure if Ill return though.
The sound in this venue is very good. Other than that, every show I have seen here has been miserable. It takes FOREVER to get through the front door. So long that we end up missing bands, and we dont even arrive late. The drink prices are outrageous, even for a music venue. They also tend to overlook, so expect to be packed in like sardines, unable to see anything unless you purchase VIP seats.
This place honestly was more (in terms of crowd density and location access) than I realized I was signing up for - but the security folks are incredible, and the venue is really nice, accessible, and clean.I went to the Fillmore for a concert, and since Im not from around the area, did not realize it is basically in the city (yes...checking out the venue is a good idea before purchasing tickets...I realize this now). When I arrived embarrassingly in pure anxiety-mode, Security was quick to put me at ease and go above and beyond. I felt very safe in the crowd and had a great time at the show.I do recommend - just look ahead of time at where youre parking and plan your walking route to the venue.
I will not return to this venue.I watched the first band from the floor. The sound was good. Not easy to move around.I took a bathroom break between bands (very clean). They oversold the show. I got stuck on the balcony for the second band. Behind the seats, trying to get a peek at the stage. The sound was horrible up there.
2nd time going to this venue went to the Kevin Gates Concert although Gates was lit and security was on top of everything the show started so late and there was like no opening acts we just listened to the DJ play music for like a hour and a half smh
Amazing experience every time i come here.Idk how the staffing works for each venue but there was this one lady that was just beyond loud and rude, telling everyone to stop sales at the merch line until people were calm or somethin but it was literally the end of the show when people were trying to leave idk. she was freakin out about the wrong thing. but besides her, lots of parking garages near by, the line moved very quickly, and has a nice bar inside, great security as well, i feel safe every time i come here.
This review is for the Vertigo Lounge:Sure, it was cheap to get in, but the owners can definitely liven it up: lower the lights, play music, put some more photos ops (neon sign with the Fillmore name), and more stools! It felt more like a waiting room than a pre-concert lounge.
My most recent experience at The Filmore Silver Springs was poor. Mainly becsuse of the super intrusive shakedown before entry. I was first denied entry because of an INK PEN! Told I could throw it away or take it back to my car. They are worse than TSA. I saw them actually look through a mans wallet and rifle his cash. My pen was nice so I had to leave to secure it and come back. When I came back, I had my pockets empty and approached the security guy to be checked with metal detector wand. I informed him I had replaced hips that may trigger wand. He says, well can I pat you down then. What in the world! I told him, this process is entirely too intrusive. He then told me to go in. I understand the need for safety but I have a need for dignity as well. Not sure I will return to that venue. The show was okay. If I hadnt already paid for ticket, I wouldnt have gone in there.
Very little atmosphere here in this place. Would rather be at 930 Club 7 out of 7 days. And now you have to pay extra to stand along the railings on 2nd floor. Just not much good other than location. Just sterile.
Seats are definitely over priced, and the sound was a little weak for our concert (could barely hear the vocals). I didnt even bother with the food which Im sure is also pricey for no reason. Go here if you wanna hear the instruments but not the singer, or if you wanna spend upwards of $100 just to stand at a slightly better angle to the stage.
Drove a little over 4 hours from Pittsburgh to see Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, At the Gates and Grand Magus October 13th. The Fillmore is located within a 2 minute walk from major hotels, restaurants and bars. The venue is clean, easy to navigate, the staff are friendly and very helpful. Maximum capacity is in the 2500 person range thus providing an intimate performance with the artist. Shows are general admission/standing room only on the floor with seating in the balcony above for an additional cost. I am happy to say, that as an above knee amputee, they have ADA seating available on the balcony at no extra cost. Beer is pricey at $11 for a 16 oz PBR draft but this is to be expected at almost any concert these days. TIP: Theres a restaurant/bar around the corner with a happy hour from 5-7 that sells PBR $2/12 oz can. I would gladly go to The Fillmore again. Continued success...you guys ROCK!!! 🤘
They gave out free water between sets. Parking is easy, plenty of nearby garages. Sound through (Hearos) Ear Plugs is good, cant say what its like without plugs. Easy to navigate, plenty of room. There are posted signs for no moshing and crowd surfing, but security didnt go after moshers and gently rescued surfers.
Difficult to see the stage from the standing room only area. But they offer a great variety of live music at a decent price.
They will over sell a show. It gets so crowded you can barely move all the way back to the doors. Dont even try to go to the bar if its a sold out show cause you cant make it lol.
The Fillmore was a really great venue, clean place and from what I can tell really nice staff. During intermission they even handed out little cups of water! I have never been to a venue that does that! Parking was a little confusing, not sure if it was supposed to be free or paid for. So we paid $10 to park right around the corner behind the venue. Also there were like 4 admission lines. One called Fastlane, that was allowed in first, along with Vertigo for the balcony seating. General admission was let in last which was where we were. Fast Lane was pretty full of a line for this show and it limited how close we got to the stage. We were very far left but still could see the show clearly on the barrier but would have been better if we got in with Fast Lane. I didnt see anywhere having that offered. So I dont know how to obtain it.
It is small but huge. The seating. The courtesy.. I will come back.. Thank you .. as i i am handicapped and pleased to be safe to still enjoy a good head banging concert @50 years young.Bullet for my Valentine, show was cut short yet NICE to see bands come back. Like 5 years ago. 👀😁😁. The the first act, toothgrinder the bassist and the drummer...YOU GUYS NAILED IT!!!!Wonder if Jiffy Lube will be as ,,,,,Courtesy, sincerity, kindness, nice workers on May 6th, 2018. Sincerely thank you...Alexander Otey and Jessica you two .....Im proud of you. Jess ^^^^ good pic. Lol
Adam Doleac concert was amazing! Greylan James was with him and terrific too! Wonderful venue!!! Easy walkFrom Doubletree too!
Ended up at the Fillmore, upstairs at a balcony table for the first time for a birthday thing. The performers themselves were great, but less so the event space.Pros: Stage lighting was nice throughout. There are also four chandeliers and a disco ball hanging out by the ceiling.Cons: The tables are square and tiny, less than an arms length looking. With four chairs to each table, it will be tight and youll be and touching elbows with strangers if youve not purchased all the seats. Drinks are obscenely overpriced. Theyd also rather serve you a $5 can of flat water, so dont expect your server to let you know that theres actually free water stations sprinkled around. The sound is VERY loud, and Id recommend bringing ear protection. Whoever does the sound mixing for the venue lets the instruments overwhelm, making it very difficult to hear the artist talking if any instrument is played.
Good environment. Friendly helpful staff. If you get parking the entrance is on the next street on the right past where GPS takes you.
This venue is one of my less favorite ones. It has what you would expect, enough bars, big open area at the bottom. But as someone who always buys tickets with seats due to an inability to stand for hours on end, this place has some of the absolutely worst sight lines Ive experienced in seats, even when standing, if you are in the B row, you have an obstructed view. Same goes for the General Admission area up top as well. I advise to only buy the seats if you really need them, otherwise youll effectively be stuck sitting in obstructed view with only half the stage visible.
I like the convenient location. Know that this is a standing venue unless you get special seating such as the balcony. Nice backdrops for pictures too. I enjoyed The Internet tour it was an unexpected birthday experience. I had never heard of The Internet before that night. It was a nice show. We got there a little late but before the show started so we stood on the balcony by the speaker.
Oversold often, drink prices are absolutely absurd, and unless youre local to silver spring, its awful to get to. Would rather hit literally Any venue in DC or bmore.
This is such a great venue for live music. Its so intimate, and the acoustics are phenomenal!
Great venue to see a show. Not a huge place so you can see the stage pretty well from the main floor. If you like a better view and dont mind being a little further from the action head upstairs to the balcony. Bars are setup nicely for quick service without having to miss any of the show. Staff were super friendly and professional.
Came to see JoJo and had a blast! Seriously, the Fillmore is amazing! The venue was organized and well set up! It is spacious for dancing and the bar is well stocked too. The restrooms are well kept and clean and stocked. I did not use the coat service but they had one. They gave out tickets to the next show on the way out and had a few raffles. It was fun! I would definitely come to an event here again!
My favorite venue. Easy parking. Well lit streets. Very safe location. Just awesome!!!!
Great venue that books killer acts. Staff are universally great, from ticket office to security to bartenders. Drink prices are a bit... optimistic but worth it. Not a bad spot in the house and even when sold out, not too crowded. Fantastic venue. Buy directly from the box office to save $5 at minimum.
The Fillmore has grown on me since my initial so-so impressions. There’s lots of standing room upstairs and along the side balconies. The paid balcony seats are good, if somewhat crowded. The subscription tables make no sense to me, but most venues VIP sections seem entirely arbitrary. The floor gets very full for most shows. Sightlines vary, but not a problem if you’re tall. There’s roomy booth seats in the basement bar, with passable food. Drinks are mostly large cans, poured into cups for rowdy shows. I vastly prefer the 9:30 Club for shows this size, but if I like a band I’m still happy to see them at the Fillmore.
Always a good time. Spacious venue. Every where is a good seat
