Had Kai as my masseuse she was amazing, very knowledgeable. She works on both sports injuries as well for anyone interested in that. All the ladies here have been amazing in the past too. Im definitely a regular nowJust heads up its a thai massage (step on your back kind of deal). Love it

Did a couples massage. Really welcoming room and nice smells/music. Some street sounds from being in Union. First time being walked on as a part of a massage and not bad. I enjoyed the warm clothes. Also the stretching felt good. Sometimes was a bit on the harder side so recommend asking for lighter if you dont usually ask for hard massages (I did medium and it felt hard compared to past experiences).Update: coming back to downgrade this a star after my shoulder hurts immensely from my massage earlier. I feel sore. Too much against the muscle grain pressure which put things out of whack.

MassageWe have been here a hundred times and it never disappoints. They are very nice and skilled. They ask about the strength you need and if you have certain areas you want them to focus on, and they do it so well. It never feel like they are just following some script.

This is a very traditional Thai massage. The masseur is a very experienced Thai and has a remarkable effect on relaxing muscles.

I had a 90 min massage with Monica. Monica was very attentive and kind. She frequently checked in with me, while also recognizing where I held more tension and paying special attention to these areas. She encouraged some unpleasant sensation during the massage to find relief, but it was never forced upon me and I even received warning. Again, always checking in. I feel significantly lighter as someone who holds a lot of tension.My chosen massage was the hot stone. The massage was not entirely hot stone and involved traditional Thai massage and what seemed like some deep tissue.

Really good value—skilled masseuses giving Thai massage at a very reasonable price. We try to come every month when we can. They are good at tailoring massages to our needs. I just had my mid-back and hips worked on, and I feel great. It can get intense, but they can modulate the pressure.

I went for a 90min couples massage with my boyfriend at the Somerville location and we had a great experience. Service was excellent and they did a great job, we were so relaxed and free of muscle tension after the session. Definitely coming back every month.

Smile Thai Health Spa is a hidden gem. Their prices are so reasonable for the experience that you get. I am currently training for a marathon and went in for the soreness. I did the 60 minute deep tissue massage and left wishing I splurged for the 90 minute. The treatment includes lotions/oils that smell great, hot towels, and stretching. Emily was my masseuse and she was fabulous, always checking in on how I was feeling and if the pressure was good. Can’t beat it!

Great service all around. I was able to come with a group and reserve for 7 over the phone, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. On-site, the massages were great and helped everyone feel more relaxed and we enjoyed the green tea afterwards and the items available for purchase. Will definitely be back!

Highly recommended! I just had my second massage here, each with a different masseuse, and both of them were clearly experienced pros at Thai style massage. They applied a generous amount of pressure but we’re careful around the areas I told them were sore. Pam was excellent. You can’t go wrong here.

This place doesn’t need any more 5-star review and it’s known as the best Thai massage in Boston. However I just had the best massage in this place that I must leave my own review to share my satisfaction and appreciation.I have been here for the past 3 or 4 years and I always go with therapist Aommy. I can’t tell anything in particular about her massage style/skill, but I just love every presses and kneading motions she makes. She is very consistent with the frequency of every motion so I always have equal amount of treatment on both sides of the body. Unfortunately she moved out of town and I stopped going here for a couple of months.Then I started with Emily. She didn’t leave a strong impression on my first visit with her. All I remember is: oh she applies strong pressure (and it hurts! in a good way). What made me leaves this review is my latest visit: a 90-min thai massage. I originally asked for 60-min thai + 30 min feet/hands, but totally forgot about that when I was in the session: it was so good, and so different!! She did spend more time on my feet and hands but didn’t necessarily keep the two sessions separate. When she’s done with my back and asked me to turn over I was like: what? This felt so short!! May I have more time plz. But the session continued to be delightful when I was lying down. There were so many different motions than the 60-min session!! I wish I can drown in this massage and never wake up. It felt so good that I almost burst into tears. But good things never last and my session came to an end. It’s over. Now it’s time to get dressed and pay.Ever since my first visit, I’ve recommended this place to every friend of mine who lives in Boston or visits Boston - and for those who went, no single one of them doesn’t love it.I wish their business continues to thrive and maintain the high standards of service they consistently provide ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I’m moving out of Boston but want to leave my happy review as a closure to all my visits here. I hope I can find another massage place just as good as this one.

I really enjoy the massages here. Theyre incredible. My issue is with my back, and it gets a special stretch after the massage. She has very strong hands and feet, and she presses them into the spot I need, making my whole body feel relaxed! I especially love the perfect ending - the head and face massage.

I breakdance and exercise regularly, so my body’s been feeling tight for the past couple weeks, especially at my neck and traps. It was my first time coming here and the therapist here did not disappoint. I asked for medium pressure for my massage. I was stretched, pressed, and massaged in effective ways. I felt relaxed and pushed at times during the massage, and came out feeling like I had a refreshed body. The employees here are very welcoming and catering. It’s also clean here with a good ambience.

I have had my fair share of Thai massages in Thailand and other places. This was hands down/on?, one of the best. I can only speak for my one experience with my masseuse(wish I had gotten her name, I was in a massage haze by the end! long hair in a ponytail with glasses). She went straight to business with full-on Cirque du Soleil moves. There are gymnasts bars on the ceiling that she actively used. She said I was the tightest person she had seen that day, what an accolade! I wanted a deep tissue massage and I definitely got it and did not want it to end!I will be back and might be purchasing gift cards for friends I know that live nearby! I was in such a daze afterward that I did the addition wrong on the tip and final amount, making it higher, and in a very sweet Thai way before I left came after me giggling asking me to check my math. Love this place!

Cozy place in Somerville. Great customer service and they can deliver a very intense massage, if that’s what you’re looking for. Medium was quite nice for a first timer, but I could also recommend Light since some of my knots were quite tight. There’s a cash discount too, which makes it decently affordable for the area. Would definitely come back for a couple’s massage again.

Thai spa has been my go to! They really make an effort to work professionally and focus on areas of stress. They have reasonable prices and are always willing to accommodate timings. Great experience every time.

This place is the best thai massage Ive experienced ever. Ive had massages in the US, Korea, and Hawaii, and this is the best location!Keep in mind the day of the week and time you book the appointment because you want the therapist to be well rested and energized; so I prefer the morning or an awkward time before 2 PM on a random weekday.Also, there are many therapists here, so you just have to experience them and see which one is the best fit for you because everyones preference is actually different. Ive been here many times, and I finally found the one!

I have been here twice, one for a deep tissue thai and one for lymphatic draining. Everytime I leave revived and completely relaxed. I sprained my ankle 4 weeks ago and knew I needed to get blood flow to the ankle as it was tight. The mobility of the ankle has already improved in the same day. I have a massage about once every 3 months and I have been to many massage therapists in Boston and all over the world. Hands down this place is top notch and priced fairly for their healing work. They listen to your needs and communicate very well through out to make sure the pressure is comfortable. Do not hesitate to book here. I know I will be coming back and back again now that I found this place.

I had a 90 min Thai yoga massage. It was great for my shoulders and upper back. My shoulders can be pretty tense so it’s hard to find a good masseuse, but Monica did a great job and I will definitely be back!

I love this spot and always go to the Union Square location, but there’s another one in Watertown. Kai is amazing, but I just had a massage with Diana and she is incredible too. The service is excellent and they offer hot tea after each massage. It feels like a true spa experience!

Never had thai massage before but it was really good and willing to do it again. Only $65 Per hour with Cash and they do foot, hand, oil massages on your whole bodys. Really relaxing you will fall asleep. It little hurts the next day on my back but maybe bcoz i never done once. Willing to go there again and really recommend this place.

I have been to smile thai a few times and everytime its great. Today I had an hour session with Monica. Im recovering from a foot/ankle injury which puts a lot of pressure on my legs and she took a lot of care focusing on tight leg muscles. Wonderful :)

I recently had the pleasure (and pain) of experiencing a Thai massage at Smile Thai Health spa. My masseuse’s name was Nina. I’ve had tons of massages at many different reputable and not so cough* reputable places, but this took the cake. I was looking for a place with availability that day, and had no problem getting in. Let me tell you, it was an experience like no other! Niñas hands might as well be forged from celestial iron and titanium because the pressure she applied felt like I was being squished by the mighty fists of God himself. I swear I died seven times during that massage, but each time Niña brought me back to life with her expert techniques and soothing voice. “Relax, it’s good for youuu” she purred. At points it almost felt like she had 6 hands all working cohesively.I walked into the parlor with aches and pains, but after Niña worked her magic, I left feeling like a brand new person. She applied just the right amount of pressure of me! In fact, Im pretty sure she not only cured my tired muscles, but also vanquished any lurking cancer cells in my body! XD Who needs chemotherapy when you have Niña?! So if youre looking for a massage experience thats both outstandingly painful and positively life-changing, look no further than Smile Thai Health Spa. I will be visiting every time I am in the area.

Appointments booked to close together, not giving anytime for staff to prepare and causing appointments to be late. Have the same girl do a 1 hour massage 6-7, then next 7-8... how can they expect to be on time when need to clean/prepare room first, and it just cascades from there getting later and later. Also charge more for credit card (10%), which is illegal in Massachusetts! The massage was great, staff is friendly, management/owner seems to be the problem here being too greedy with crazy credit card fee and booking appointments on top of each other!

Every time I come, I leave here feeling so much better. It relieves stress, tension and tightness. Just wish I lived closer to come more often.

The place is very accommodating when called for a last minute booking. Although an hour was not available, I opted for a 30 minute hand and foot massage mid day. It was great and you get a discount when paying in cash. Commute to union square is easier now thanks to the new T stop.

After spending $250 in your establishment, I offered a tip of $30 willingly but you insisted it had to be $37.5. No gratitude for what was offered and taken. I only wished I didn’t give the $30 at all. It’s crass, entitled behavior and I won’t be back. If your tip must be ‘required and entitled’, by all means, include it in the bill.

Got a couples massage and we both left feeling limber and relaxed. Very kind (and strong!) staff, who are willing to work with your needs. You can choose your level of pressure in the beginning- we went with medium and at first it seemed too hard, but it all made sense within the routine. Super effective, will definitely return!

This massage was amazing! The masseuses really know what theyre doing. As has been said in previous reviews, they used techniques that Ive never had done before (they said it was a mixture of Thai and Swedish massage techniques), and I left feeling incredible. I was so relaxed and centered afterward. Booking was easy, the price was reasonable, and the service was great! I will definitely be going back.

All the 1 star reviews are true and it doesn’t matter. The quality of the massages more than makes up for minor scheduling inconveniences. I have gone to many different massage therapists and the best ones have been here. The masseuses are very kind, accommodating of different preferences, and can quickly recognize what each body needs. If they don’t have a record of your appointment, try letting them know whether you booked it online or by phone, I believe there are two separate lists. This has happened to me and I was still able to get my appointment even though I was initially told it wasn’t booked.

I visited this facility back in the summer to have a regular Thai massage. On the form where they asked what kind of pressure you wanted, I chose medium, but the actual massage was one of the most painful experiences of my life. The masseuse used the hardest pressure possible, to the point where I cried several times and I thought they were going to break my back and legs. They could see that I was in extreme pain and I even asked them to lessen the pressure, but one of them said I chose medium pressure. That was far from medium pressure, and Ive never felt anything like it! Also, the room was very cold and at the end of the massage, they added a tip to my total charge.A few days later I got a voicemail reminding me about a follow up appointment that I did not make. I quickly called them to cancel but I found that to be a huge red flag. It was a painful and scary experience, and Ill patronize businesses that dont try to injure their customers.

Used to be great and you don’t need to pick the therapist. The past couple times I’ve had inexperienced therapist that didn’t fix any of my pain point and didn’t even perform foot walk. I had to leave a note requesting experienced therapist to get the treatment that used to be available from every therapist.

It is definitely not fancy, but we have been to many fancy spas across the world and had mediocre massages at most of them. If you want a healing/therapeutic massage, this is the place to go. Ill skip the frills of a hotel resort spa any day, because the most important quality of a massage is that it actually makes you feel good. Highly recommended for Thai style massage.

Jenny was a great massage therapist and truly listened to my needs to make me feel relaxed. I HAD a pinch nerve in my neck and pain was traveling to the back of my head. In addition; I had a sprained right ankle. Jenny applied perfect pressure on both problematic areas at which I walked out of the spa pain free from my neck! My ankle is slightly swollen but the swelling definitely went down from the relaxing and therapeutic massage I was given. This is my second visit here and I will be back in the near future!

Ive been here before with my fiancé, and we both loved our massages. I couldnt wait to come back here when I had a free weekend, but unfortunately, the service was not the same as I had remembered. The signature part of the massage that I was most looking forward to was when the masseuse walks on your back - this did not happen at all, which was a bit strange, but I did not mind so much since the massage itself was still pretty decent.At the end is where it gets a little weird.. as Im checking out, I hand over $140 in cash. Initially, I had thought the massage was $120, so I was always meaning to leave a $20 tip. She lets me know it was $130, and asks me Was it not good? I said, Yes, it was good! The receptionist then proceeds to pull out a piece of paper with a handwritten note that says Buy me a Budlight and how much 20% would equal i.e., 20%=$29. If you calculate it yourself, 20% of 130 is actually $26.. Anywho, besides the mathematical miscalculation, I then proceed to hand her another $20 and ask for $10 in change to stick with my original plan of leaving a $20 tip, which would have still been 15% tip for the massage. When I ask for my change, she again points to the paper and refuses to give me anything, basically just staring at me. At this point, Im feeling extremely awkward since the masseuse has also walked up during this time. She did do a good job, so I end up letting it go and not pressing the matter further.Honestly, I am all for tipping for great service, and I know these ladies work hard. However, I do not appreciate being pressured to give more of a tip when I felt like the tip I was giving was sufficient (their website even states that 10%-20% is typical). It definitely felt very shady to me, and honestly, I probably wont be coming back anymore due to that strange interaction. It sucks because I really liked this place, but at the end of the day, making your customers uncomfortable and forced to do something is not going to make them come back.

My wife and I came here for a couple massage after a long two days of walking around the city. Although we were staying mainly in downtown Boston, we were definitely glad to have come out here and it was absolutely worth the trip. We both feel relieved and the pressure of the massage was definitely spot on. I prefer a more firm massage and they were very accommodating in making sure the pressure was right for each of us. Id recommend this place to anyone looking for a more traditional Thai massage and Im certain you will enjoy the experience.

Been here 5 times and all great experiences. Had 3 different therapists and all were excellent. I requested deep tissue and got it. Be prepared for traditional Thai which includes stretching client into certain yoga poses. Have them explain it before you start. Really great!If you use cash you get a good discount.
