Attention to detail was amazing, and made my decent looking acrylics from a different salon look the best they’ve ever looked. Fun colors to choose from, too!! Reasonable prices. Great nail salon with friendly, talented staff! I love the ease of the online booking feature and have never had trouble getting an appointment for the day/time I wanted. The place is clean, bright, and pretty, and Ive loved every service Ive had here. Most recently Michelle did some glazed donut inspired nails for me. It was my first time getting acrylic and I wasnt sure exactly what to ask for - she took the time to look over my inspo pictures with me and carefully chose the best colors to achieve the look I wanted. Im OBSESSED with how good it came out. Id recommend this salon to anyone in the area looking for a place to go regularly.

I still feel like i’m being pranked right now i don’t understand how any self respecting nail salon would do nails like this and send the customer on their merry way. i could’ve asked my 10 year old cousin to do these. im afraid to say that the lady who did them didn’t know how to do acrylics and yet they gave me her. i asked for long square nails and got half coffin, not to mention the unevenness/bumps and air bubbles. i didn’t want to say anything because they were nice but i cant believe they made me pay $80 for something that shouldn’t be no more than $40. im very upset…

Horrible service ! Tony rushed my set like he was in a race. Then after it was time to do my flower he told me he couldn’t do it! I showed them a photos multiple times. He asked me if I wanted to wait for someone to do it I said yes but no one came. Plus his work is very rushed. They seemed very racist and treated me like a peasant I was extremely upset and embarrassed. If zero stars could be given it would. I will be reporting this business asap.

I love City Nails. I started doing with gel nails and moved onto dip nails since they last weeks and help my nails grow a ton. Ive had Michelle & Tony do my dip and they do an amazing job. Both so focused and gentle. All their techs are uniquely great and each one has their own experience and skills and does their best work. I have no complaints. Its a walking distance from my home and I leave the place satisfied. And if youre not happy with how your nails turned out, the techs always find a solution for no extra charge :) check them out across the street from Winter Hill brewing company. Those are my nails all done by Michelle and Tony. Cant thank them enough keeping my hands looking elegant ✨️

I got dip on my natural nails with one tip. The Lady that did my nails was ok not rude but not nice. she would pull the sides of my fingers too hard. i let it happen since i thought she was getting to the cuticle. (she didn’t even touch any of my cuticle) when done i had dip all over my fingers coming from my nails. Long story short the next day the dip on one of my nails was already cracking. and the next day after my nail broke right where it cracked!! i was so upset because why 3 days later is my natural nail broken? I didn’t call or go back because why would I my nails currently look like i’ve had the same dip on for weeks but it has only been a week. save your money and go else where your nails will thank you!

I haven’t treated myself to a good pedicure or manicure in a LONG time, so it was a pleasant surprise when I walked into City Nails and was welcomed with absolute kindness! Tony did both my pedicure and dip mani, and he was gentle and took his time down to the very last detail. I will absolutely be back and 100% recommend!

Made an appt for my MIL and myself. When we arrived they didn’t have a nail tech available for her and I ended up having all my services (pedi and mani) done while she was waiting sitting and I just felt so terrible that she wasn’t getting her services done despite us making an appt.Other than that, the nail techs try their best to understand and accommodate to the color shape and style you want. Pleasant salon but sad about having to watch and wait even though we had appointment.

It was my first time going today. I’ll definitely be back. ngoc phu dang did my nails. i think he did a fantastic job. i requested these colors to match a costume, and i love them. highly recommend.

Called in for an a fill and minimal design appointment and was told I could come in “now”. I’m five minutes away so I took it. Sat down and was showing my technician what I wanted when I was told by the front desk person “we don’t have time for that” and that he didn’t know I wanted design, even though I explicitly asked for “minimal design on all nails” over the phone. We compromised and I got black with white stitch tips (I wanted something much different). It was a complete rush job and they made me feel like I was inconveniencing them when they were the ones who told me to come in right away. Needless to say, the gel didn’t cure in two of the nails and the design was so sloppy. I pressed on the glob of gel on one nail and it literally oozed out and the other, as you can see in the photo, literally wiped off that night even though I was insanely careful because I knew it was a rush job. I’ll be going to another salon to see if they can fix the damage they did. I will never come back here. ***these photos are one day after getting my nails done here.-In response to the owner response: I went to another salon that was appalled at the work that was done on my nails. They told me my 24hr old fill looked grown out and misshapen. There’s no way I’d ever come back here. Your staff was rude, pushy, inconvenienced by customers, and lack the knowledge and skill to provide adequate services. I recommend getting your business in check before asking people to come back.

I was able to drop in today and only waited a few minutes for a manicure. Staff is friendly and efficient, and Michelle did a great job with my nails! Highly recommend!

I reached out on their website chat ahead of time to see if they could do the design I was looking for and booked my appointment accordingly. THEY GAVE ME A FUNGAL INFECTION. Here’s what my toenail looks like after almost two months of oral anti-fungal medication. Half of my nail has fallen off, and it will take at least a full year for new uninfected (if the medication works) toenail to grow in. They should be ashamed of themselves.

City Nails is the BEST in and around Somerville! I have been a customer for 10 years and all the mail technicians are wonderful and competent. I also get my waxing done there. Very convenient parking on the side of the building too.

I’m in love. This is one of the few places in Somerville where you can find a lot of cute designs. My 5 stars are for the work that Michelle did on my nails. It was great. They’re also fair with their pricing which is hard to find around here. So I’ll be definitely back soon!Besides that there are a few things that can be improved like there’s no hand massage or they’re not the friendliest either but good overall.Really clean place! :)Update: After a couple of times going there I just felt like they always had a bad attitude. Except the only guy who works there, he was always nice. Anyway, they jacked up my nail and after I let her know she said “everything is fine, there’s nothing wrong with that I’ll fix it anyway” and well it looked terrible. Plus I had nails breaking every week and this never happened before in any other place that’s how I knew it wasn’t me and I was ALWAYS charged for them even though it wasn’t my fault.Thank you very much but I’ll NEVER be back.After a few times their prices started to go higher and higher too.

I’ve been going to City Nails for close to 2 months now and up until this past weekend all of my gel manicures have been great. They have lasted 2-3 weeks. However after only 4 days my most recent manicure my nails started chipping. I contacted City Nails about the issue and I heard back in a timely manner offering to fix the chipped nails free of charge. That isn’t the issue. My issue is when I did arrive to get my chipped nails fixed, I arrived early (approx 15 minutes) the person at the front desk was very rude. Telling me in a nasty tone “I told you to come in at 6” and when I said I was fine waiting until they were free they were still rude. I then waited an additional 30 minutes before my nails were fixed. On top of that I also witnessed poor customer service to a woman who was getting a pedicure. When she asked if her nails were dry the same man at the front desk went (the same one I dealt with) said “I think they are” but her nails were not physically checked to see if they were dry or not. Customer service is a real hit or miss honestly, which is unfortunate because the establishment itself is really nice.

Salon was clean and quiet. Tech was patient but quick. Nails were not perfect but did come out great and prices are fair!

Ive been back to the salon a few times now and have had a few different technicians and overall I really like visiting this salon. First, I absolutely love how clean it is and the second thing that I like is the variety of colors that they have to choose from! Everyone is always friendly when I go in, which is a plus!What kind of bothers me is they dont put on cuticle oil or lotion for you after you get your nails done. Usually when technicians put this on they also give you a mini hand massage which you dont get here. They offer the products, but theyre at separate table for you to put on. For this price point I would expect a technician to do this. Also, sometimes they dont get my cuticles very good and so in a few days they look like they werent done at all (I say this, but Im overly picky about my cuticles being done properly).

Service and price were OK. Problem was my wallet being stolen from the bathroom. I had went right next door to get my hair done and when it came time to pay I realized I had left it in the bathroom at the nail salon. Just to make sure I asked the guy at the hair salon to pull up footage of me coming in and I didnt have it. When I asked the nail salon to review their footage they were too busy. Officer came and they were still too busy.

I rarely write bad reviews but am so upset about my experience here. I live in the neighborhood and was excited to try it out. The tech convinced me I needed a refill on my gel x bc I “waited too long” then had no clue how to take it off & RUINED my nails in the process. I ended up getting a clear coat, was there for almost 2 hours & was charged $34. He did not massage, hot towel, or even attempt to fix my damaged nails (which by the way is included in the price if you look online!) I hate to sound like a Karen, and neverrr write a bad review :(

Got the ‘quick’ pedicure with regular nail polish. Service was great and my nails came out beautiful. Everyone was very nice and it’s easy to tip with Venmo if you don’t have cash. Price was very reasonable, especially with other places charging way too much for the same thing. Will definitely go back!

Super impressed with City Nails! I just moved here and live a block away, they were able to accommodate moving me to an earlier time slot and the entire team was super friendly. I had a deluxe pedicure done by Thi and she was awesome! Really took the time to give you the service you pay for and I was really relaxed/beyond happy with my pedicure. They also gave me a discount as it was my first visit! Highly recommend them and I will be back again ☺️

I got my nails done here for the first time on May 13, 2022. They looked good but then the whole gel nail fell off the next day. Peter responded immediately and had me come back to fix the issue.Since then my nails have been beautiful! The fist chip only happened yesterday, June 14! The nails still look great, but have grown out so Im heading back for another manicure!

This nails salon is awesome, easy to make an appointment online, responding so quickly and nails technicians so friendly, salon clean and spaces. This salon has a lot of discount for customers. May sure you are reminded them. Sometimes they forgot my discount and than they called me to return my money.

I decided to treat myself to a rare self care day at CIti Nails. I was referred by a friend who gets very nice acrylics there. I was very impressed by how clean and spacious the atmosphere is, and with the new high quality massage chairs. However, my gel shellack with Michelle did not last a full week, and my pedicure chipped the very next day :( Regular polish jobs I give to myself have lasted far longer than this. Sadly, will not be returning. What Lisas Nails lacks in selection of shellack colors she more than makes up in quality. Her shellacks are bulletproof and last at least two weeks.

I have never written a review in my life, but my experience at this nail salon was good that i had to write a review. this is Literally the best nail salon ive ever been to, and im REALLY picky about nail salons. I walked in and chose my color (many options) and was seated right away, which everyone knows NEVER happens. they were very nice, the place was so cute and spacious, they had a nice sitting area, and my nails were done QUICK (under 45 minutes and i got a full set of acrylics with designs!) and they looked amazing. they did exactly what i wanted and had no complaints. they are very skilled. i also feel like a lot of the time they talk about you when theyre doing your nails, but this place did NOT make me feel like that. At the end they gave me a holiday gift and the vibes in there were just so positive.

Pretty disappointed. I got a gel manicure here, the nail tech rushed the entire time and sure enough my nails chipped immediately. I went back and they fixed my nails at no cost but unfortunately several nails chipped significantly on the course of a few days.

I love this nail salon! Ive gotten acrylics done many places over the years and have had many people do a great job, but so far Michelle has done the nicest, cleanest, smoothest acrylics Ive ever gotten. They are so natural looking and feeling with zero bulk at all! I highly recommend her and will continue to come back!

Tony was so attentive to detail while doing my pedicure! He made sure to check at every step what length, color, number of coats, and detail I wanted and made adjustments accordingly! They also offer a 10% discount for first time clients which was a nice surprise.

Had my first gel manicure today after moving around here and it was great! They were able to squeeze me in last minute before close on a Sunday, the doors were open the entire time which I loved because it was a beautiful day and it really aired out the space. My nail artist was very kind and courteous, and the rest of the artists were as well. This will definitely be my new nail spot :)

I recently moved to the area and was nervous to try a new nail salon. But, when I saw City Nails just opened I thought I would give it a shot. I was blown away by their customer service, cleanliness, and the variety of polishes they offer. They do an amazing job and are very efficient. My nails did not come out good. I was really disappointed because I’ve been here a couple of times and they usually do a great job. There was a different person who did my nails the most recent time I went. My nails came out too chunky and boxy. My toes also got ruined before I left the salon. I guess it wasn’t my luck that day.

Ive been there several times and I have to agree with all of the testimonials they’re very clean, spacious and varieties of nail color options. However over the weekend I made an appointment, due to traffic and I live about an hour away I had the decency to call and say that I was running late I got there 2 minutes after the time I said I was gonna get there and she refused to do my nails. I got a gel manicure. The nail tech was super through and very friendly! My nails looked perfect for a whole month before chipping. It is appointment only, but I requested a slot through yelp before they opened and got an answer almost immediately for less than an hour later. Highly recommended!

These people do not know what they are doing. This was my first experience with City Nails, I got a powder manicure. I went back 5 days after my manicure because the top coat was peeling off. They put on an additional top gel coat. 5 days later every nail has a peeling top coat. I have gotten many powder manicures in the past and have never had an issue like this. It was clear when I was getting my nails done that the person didnt know what they were doing. I spent a lot of money and will never go back.

This is my go-to salon. They use sterile tools, the color selection is great, the salon itself is newly renovated and clean, and my gel manis and pedis always last 2+ weeks without chipping. A gel mani is $30 which I have also not been able to find cheaper elsewhere in the city for the same quality of work. And, I like that they are almost always to accommodate walk-ins.

Tony took his time to work a miracle on my feet. I kno it had to be finished within 30mins but yet he went a little over time. Tony didnt rush and that was overall a plus because after I really felt Tony took the time to make sure my feet look and felt great. I was more than happy, I was satisfied. Overpriced mediocre salon. I can get a deluxe pedicure (paraffin wax massage exfoliating and even roses in the water) for $30 in other places. My mom got the same pedicure and 4 acrylics done on her toes and acrylics French tips. Summary = 2 gel deluxe AVERAGE pedicures and short French nails for $199. Out their damn minds. Don’t waste ur time here better places that will leave your feet feeling way softer.

City Nails was great! Alan was great. The salon was clean and busy at 6pm. Some of these reviews are bad, but I went anyway and had a great experience with my pedicure.

Place was ok for the price i guess. my nails were not the best shape when finished (crooked, flat, bumpy) they charge extra for shaped nails and to be honest i could of done the same if not a bit better paint job myself. Im going to try and go again to give it another chance for theyre so close to me. hoping itll be betterUPDATE:went a second time, nails came out very nice, except they dont clean your nails pre or post acrylic, they do nothing with the cuticles, dont clean under or around nails, dont brush off buffed particles and dust (concerning), didnt clean my hands (idk about theirs?), and didnt give hand massage, also said could do any design i had in my phone, i asked for ombre (simple) they couldnt do it lol but over all nice shape and quality i guess (well see)update#2got my nails done Friday 11/3, they look like they need to be filled already today 11/6

If i could give no stars i would. I called and made an appointment for 12 for a fill. When i came in and started looking at gel polish he got mad at me because i didnt specify that it was gel. Then they had 3 people doing nothing but stocking polish after 15 minutes past my appointment time sitting watching them stock, i got up and said thats ok i guess ill go some place? else and they said nothing to me.
