The 244 Spot

So I have gone to this bar twice. The first time was to see my friend perform. My drink had no alcohol. That has never happened to me at a bar before. The second time I went to perform myself. They slammed both doors in my face because I left the door open and they shouted “close the door” and slammed it very hard. For obvious reasons I will not be going back. A brought a group of people with me there and bought several drinks. It’s rude to slam a door in a customer’s face, in fact that is unheard of, because your door doesn’t close on it’s own. That is not my fault. Really unprofessional and rude.

This is an ideal dive bar with excellent bartenders, fun theme nights, very reasonable prices and specials, the best DJs spinning vintage vinyl records and a cool, relaxed atmosphere.It’s a gift to have a place like this for the Central NJ LGBT community - there was such a void until recently. It’s virtually drama-free; the only drama I ever hear about is summarily dealt with and not welcomed back, which is as it should be.Come support them - Friday nights are the best - and have a great and safe time!

This place is not up to standard. The drinks I had were spiked, and I should know, being a bartender myself. I didnt appreciate that you are harming your customers for a quick buck. They just wanted to have a good time. I only had one drink, so I shouldnt have a headache or feel nauseous.Also they only take cash….. as if mobile pay isn’t a thing.

Such a fun place to be! Small and lovely with a huge family like atmosphere. Everyone is so nice and caring and all they want to do is make sure you’re having an amazing time while you’re there. Definitely try a Tsunami and Frank ocean

Very fun bar! Cheap drinks, great entertainment!! Drag shows are a ton of fun here- if only the owners would fix the speakers from cutting in and out!! Not fair to the girls performing.

Amazing night time bar with amazing staff! Everyone makes you feel at home and taken care of! Feels like family. Has great djs on the weekend and for drag night tuesdays and has a touch tunes for the other days! Pool table and seating makes it great for hanging out with friends. Definitely a great place to go!

I hate to say this but I think our beers were spiked by the bartender. Thursday night. 05-17. The other bartender was there that evening with his friends. We immediately tasted a change in the beers, bud light. And immediately asked for another. I will never go to that bar ever. It’s a shame when they say NJ is low life, white trash. —— it’s true.

Just moved to Jersey and wanted to head out to a gay bar. Was pretty disappointed to get to the door and find out that a cash-only cover is required to get in the door. I typically go out with just my phone and credit card, but most places nowadays accept Venmo or Apple Pay in the event that a cash fee is required. Maybe I’ll come back another day with some cash, but for now I’m upset that the closest gay bar to my place is behind the times.

Love it here. Frank, Stephen, Joey, and Aiden are amazing. They all know my order when I walk I . Such a fun and safe place to go….

Great spot to hang out, dance and have a few drinks… every night is a different vibe but a friendly group all the time, bartenders make you feel like you belong…management is A+++

The 244 Spot is a great all inclusive establishment where everyone is welcome! Friendly staff, affordable drinks, great entertainment & DJs...the perfect home away from home! The green tea shots are a MUST HAVE!

Great place, inexpensive & great atmosphere. Live bands on weekends, Pool Leagues, Poker Leagues during the week. NFL Ticket, friendly bar Staff, Kitchen open late till 1:30am Great Bar Pie too!

Great neighborhood bar! It is not a dive bar but rather a locals bar! Great service and okay food choices without a full kitchen! Great chicken wings and pies!!!

Dont bother opening before 11p... snoozy otherwise.. completely not worth spending a dollar

Nice new spot. Not much parking in the area. Its smack dab in the middle of a few residential streets so not that easy to find. They are working on a bar menu. The bar pie is tasty. The effort to compete with some other local dives is noticed and appreciated. A few more months of working out the kinks. Some TLC. And maybe a few signs to mark the way. Then this place will be exactly what the area needs to breath life back into its long forgotten night scene.

Nice local watering hole with pool tables and nice staff and customers. Guinness on tap, as it should be. The bars ceiling and walls are filled with great signs and many of the walls include photos of famous Dannys such as Aeillo, Baldwin, Tartabull and Kaye. Recommended for a stop off.

Sorry for the 2 stars guys. This is a neighborhood bar. Its good for a couple of beers and a quick bit. The thing that is special here is the staff and good ownership. It kind of has an at my friends house type vibe. Of course, bring your friend.

If you like dive bars you will like this place. Not enough televisions. Drink prices are reasonable. Dont expect quality food or sometimes any food if there is no cook if there is a cook the prices are extremely good.

Its your local watering hole. Do you like drinking? If so, this place is for you.

Great Pub. Good food(all air fried) great drinks, two pool tables and Alyssa (the bartender)was fantastic as was Jim. Cant say enough good thinks. Its got it all. Prices are good.

All cash bar with great prices! The staff is friendly and attentive. Great place to hang out with friends, always a good time.

It is a casual place but would be better if NJ would take their iron boot off the neck of small businesses.

Mike the bartender is amazing..he makes all kinds of good drinks. He is by far one of the best around.

Pool in the rear, drinks in the front. Staff is always wiping surfaces and getting you drinks while you play.
