Wish I found this place sooner!! Everything you’d want in a neighborhood spa. Classy ambiance, warm reception, amazing prices and even better therapists. I’ve seen Tucker for massage twice now—he’s incredible!! They have a wide variety of treatments available, and booking online is a breeze. Very satisfied client. Thank you.

This is my Absolute #1 GO TO for quality massages at an AMAZING price! Such a classy atmosphere, relaxing, soothing, but the massages are Always Perfect. Ive had a different massage therapist for almost every visit, and I have been impressed with All of them. (And I would say Im pretty high-maintenance :) They even email out discount coupons every so often! A+++

Had my first massage here after reading the reviews and also seeing it on 2024 best of south tampa, I decide to give it a shot.Gerrard was great and took his time to work out all the tension I have in my neck and back. I will definitely be coming back for more session.

I had an hour long facial with Freida. She is amazing and very knowledgeable. My skin is mostly dry and she knew exactly what to do! When I left the spa my skin was glowing and felt hydrated. I am looking to my next visit! Highly recommend Freida for a facial/skincare!

I booked my husband a Father’s Day Massage. He said it was okay, they had an elder woman named cookie who gave him his massage. He said it was average.Pressure could have been better, and she didn’t give him a “Full massage”. As a licensed massage therapist I know the ins and outs of massages. That massage cost me $180.00. I was fine with that, but then they charged my card another $36.00 . I was confused at first , so I called the office. The lady at the front desk RUDE! Like rude, rude. Treated me like she didn’t know what was going on. I explained my card was charged additional $36.00, she then goes to explain everything I paid for, I said yes it was the Father’s Day special for $180.00 that is what you guys advertised. Where is the additional $36.00 mind you my card is on file. My husband didn’t authorize any additional charges and didn’t have access to my card. Come to find out someone in the facility charged a $36.00 tip to my card. I was shocked!!! The fact they can just do that is crazy. The lady at the front desk was making me out to be a liar. She explained to me that that didn’t happened and that I had to authorize it. Negative.So she then takes my information so the manager can get back to me. 30 minutes later they reverse the transaction. I don’t trust this place and the fact they can just run my card at anytime is unsafe and makes me feel uneasy. I would strongly recommend not going to this massage therapy establishment

I’ve been coming here regularly for a couple of years and I will never go anywhere else. The pricing is very reasonable and the massages are always amazing. Alexandra is who I go to and she is the absolute best! Checking in is always easy and quick and everyone that I’ve encountered who works there has been great as well.

My first experience at Essentials, and had the prenatal massage with Rachel! She was extremely attentive to my comfort and spent extra time on my problem areas. I left feeling less tense and relaxed. Will definitely be back!

I have been going to Essentials for a few years now and cant recommend it enough! The facility is very clean, smells amazing and is ascetically pleasing. Gerrard Jackson is one of the best masseuses Ive ever had the blessing to experience!

Ive been going to this spa regularly every month for the last 7 months. I have had several massage therapists there and I can say that Nadim is my favorite. He does a great therapeutic massage but even better relaxation. Highly recommend.

My girlfriend surprised me today with a massage and it couldn’t have been better! The ambience here was inviting and relaxing. Our therapist Alaney was able to relieve my built up tension and pains. I received an hour and a half session and she made the most of all of the time! We will be back again!

Personally from someone who gets regular massages this was the worst one yet. They seemed clueless. One guy wore gloves due to eczema breakout and didn’t want to touch the bare skin of the client I was with and the one who had me was alright except instead of breaking the knots down she basically applied so much pressure to get rid of them immediately that I left not feeling Better but painful neck and then they stopped 10 minutes early. Definitely way better places.Out

Beautiful establishment and average massage, but overall was a little disappointed. We did a couples massage on Valentines Day and had requested hot stones and the package that includes champagne - unfortunately those notes were not inputted into the system so we did not receive either. Also, only had about 40 minutes of hands on work. When I communicated this during the checkout the woman was very nice and apologized, while also offering $10 off my next visit. This was my first experience at Essentials South Tampa, so I plan on going back, switching up the masseuse in hopes to update my review with 5 stars next time around after a better experience!

Hands down one of the best places to come and get a massage! I always book with Aundrey he’s so phenomenal! The techniques that he has are out of this world, you’ll walk out feeling brand new after a massage from him! Owner Kelly is very kind and goes above and beyond to help and make sure that her therapist, estheticians, and receptionist are all doing great and on the same page! Very friendly spa with so many modalities to choose from and also great spa packages to give as gifts. If you’re needing to relax and get stress release then I’d recommend coming to Essentials to get a massage or facial.

Just visited this place for the first time and had a wonderful, relaxing facial with Lila. She was very knowledgeable and my face is still glowing! Cant wait to try the $55 massage next - cant beat that price!

My husband booked me a 90 min full body massage with Jeremy for Mothers Day and it was so refreshing! Jeremy was kind, professional, and very knowledgeable. I have scoliosis which tends to create shoulder pain and I haven’t had any pain since the massage. I will definitely be back.

My experience was less than calm and relaxing. The front desk people were lovely and welcoming.The experience itself was average. This place operates with very little etiquette, it’s loud. I sat in the sauna for 25 minutes and could hear every conversation passing me. I spent that 25 minutes counting down till it was over. 100% would not recommend that experience.Maria, my esthetician was great and knowledgeable. But the esthetician next door was loud and lacked proper spa etiquette. I could hear every conversation which took away from my overall experience. I spent most of my session trying to ignore her and her client’s conversation. At some point, I was just ready for my experience to be over.On my short walk to the shower, two estheticians were talking and one was complaining and cussing as I walked by… is there a break room to do that in? That was odd and unprofessional.Thank god this was a gift from my sister and not something I paid for. I would book with caution as it seems there isn’t a lot of consistency in the competency and etiquette from person to person.I will end on a positive that Maria is super knowledgeable and patient.

Really wanted to love this place so close to home. I’ve given it two opportunities and disappointed both times. First of all a spa should have a welcoming environment when you come in. That was not the case. The ladies up front are not warm, welcoming or friendly. The waiting area is small and stuffy. You feel there is no personal space and the a/c could definitely be turned down. Chairs are so close together. The massages were mediocre. I wasn’t asked if I need to stop at ladies room prior or even asked by reception how my massage was. They can definitely turn these things around if management takes heed but for now I will be driving to Essentials in Brandon which is 30 minutes away where I’ve always been greeted as I walk in. Very friendly and professional staff and relaxing wait area.

I had such a great experience visiting essentials. I went in for a typical deep tissue massage and felt amazing afterwards. The masseuse was very helpful and willing to target the areas that I experience the moist stiffness. The girl at the front was super helpful and knowledgeable when helping me figure out what to choose as well. Overall 10/10 experience and I will definitely be coming back.

Worst massage experience ever. Read reviews! The front desk is rude and rushy and masseuse was touching my butt.Previous reviews say the same thing . A review said she made racist comments and my group experienced multiple microaggressions / back handed comments. To start we booked detox massages and she booked us for therapeutic and deep tissue. Then when we asked she was dismissive and rushed us out.The masseuse was inappropriate and spent a considerable amount of time focused on my glutes. I left feeling disrespected and tense not relaxed.The atmosphere In the massage room was awkward. I was told to start face up/laying on my back. No eye mask/covers. Just staring at the ceiling.The technique was amateur. He did not chop or kneed just rubbed at varied inconsistent pressure. Barely touched my calves and did NOT do my shoulders/neck/upper back. Just thighs, glutes, lower and mid back.

Both the massage therapist, Magali, and aesthetician, Fedra, were amazing! They were professional, provided a great service, and were super sweet. Will definitely return in the future!

Magic Hands Jae, I have been rowing four times a week and recently began incorporating Pilates into my daily routine. Despite my aversion to massages, I found myself in a state of desperation due to the tightness in my back that was impacting my ability to sit or stand comfortably at work. Reluctantly, I scheduled an appointment with Ms. Jae today.To my surprise, Ms. Jae worked wonders on my back, leaving me feeling a level of relief and rejuvenation like never before. Hands down (no pun intended) one of the best massage experiences I’ve had in my life! I have some back issues and I see a massage therapist regularly. And then sometimes I treat myself to a spa experience at the luxury hotels locally and when I travel. I’ve had amazing massages at the JW, Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, etc and this Essentials Massage with Gerard ranks right up there but certainly not as pricey. He was professional and provided a synopsis of some of my problem areas after the massage. Lisa also offered top tier customer service from beginning to end in the reception area. This experience far exceeded my expectations thanks to Gerard and Lisa!

Overall, disappointed with the customer service. I took a necklace off prior to a massage service and immediately realized I left it at Essentials the next day. I called and received a rude response when I asked if someone could check to see if it had been turned it. Simply searching the room or asking the massage therapist would have been the appropriate response/approach. It did not happen. Sad, but Ill never patronize this company again. It was a beautiful 14kt gold necklace thats gone.

I was expecting an amazing massage since the spa was clean, warm and inviting. Unfortunately the masseuse ruined my experience. She seemed nice enough but rushed and didn’t speak. She then took way too long on my back (mostly shoulders) and rushed all other areas. The only area I had massaged when I turned over was my next and shoulders….AGAIN. I barely even smelled the aromatherapy I ordered. I think this place could be amazing but maybe time to reveal the massage therapists. No post greeting nor offer for water. Very weird. Did I mention she blew her nose like twice during my massage and just as another reviewer mentioned only about 40 mins hands on time.

This is a beautiful facility, comfortable and calming. Everyone at the front desk is friendly and helpful. Once you are in the room it is quiet and the massage is amazing. All of the knots in my shoulders were worked out. The facials are very relaxing. Essentials creams smell good and arent abrasive to your face. I had an incredible experience. From the moment you walk in the staff makes you feel extremely comfortable! Very elegant decor. The massage therapist were very professional and gave me probably one of the best massages I’ve ever had! Another plus to the salon is you receive reminders prior to your appt so you don’t forget. My mom and I came from out of town and the massage therapist recommended us numerous places to visit while we were in town. You can tell they care about their clients very much.

5 Stars for massage therapist Samuel Katz.Ive been to this location 5x. I tried 3 different massage therapist who were very professional and well-trained but it wasnt until I was booked with Sam by happenstance did I really luck out! His speciality is deep tissue and boy is it! I have feeling in parts that were so tight and numb and I didnt even realize how atrophied and over compensated some of my muscles were. Definitely recommend him if youre are looking for precise pressure.

The worst spa I’ve ever come across and I’ve been to a lot of mediocre spas! Their services are so subpar and are not worth their prices. Laura in particular is the most unprofessional person I’ve ever come across in years. She was rude, hasty, short with me and couldn’t answer my questions at all about things that should be basic knowledge for anyone in her industry. Her service is horrendous and I broke out immediate after my facial! I think I actually have an infection from this place. I have to go to a dermatologist now just to tend to whatever Laura did to me

One of the best places to get a facial! I book with Savannah, she is hands down amazing! My skin has never felt or looked better. She created such a relaxing environment, walked me through what she was doing and was just amazing! Would highly recommend booking with Savannah!

Took my daughter in law here for a little pampering. The massage is affordable but the amenities are lacking. Was not shown to the locker room to change into a robe and slippers, no bottled water offered after service except for a little cup aka a sip. Not enough to flush toxins out.Experience was OK but not memorable.

I love this place! A great “new find” for me and close to home without all the crazy traffic and parking issues at some south Tampa places. I had the Essential Signature Facial today. My skin was in bad shape from travel, sun screen, long flights, dehydration…and I left looking much better. Kailey (spelling may be wrong) was my Estatician and she took great care of my face. Don’t let the location fool you. This place has the latest technology and amazing products. Staff is professional and well trained and they want to be sure you get exactly what you need. I will be back!

Had a wonderful experience. We held our spa party here and loved it (8 people). The atmosphere is very beautiful and upscale. Servuces are reasonably priced. There was a relaxation room for our party to gather, have wine, food etc. In between services. They were very kind and accommodating. Everyone was pleased with their services and facilities. I will definitely be booking another spa day here.

We have been going to Essentials for a long time, starting back when they were located on Kennedy Blvd. The majority of all therapist have been great. Unfortunately, there have been a few that have not listened to the client as they share with the therapist the area of concentration. I requested one of them to not be my therapist and to be placed on my do not use profile. During my most recent visit, I was placed with the therapist I requested not to use. Although I told her my area of need, she did not listed... even after consistently telling her during the massage. At the end of the massage, she said she would be out waiting for me with water. Needless to say, I had to track her down (the receptionist had to look for her) and she didnt even have water in her hand. I called back later and asked why I had her although I had requested for her to be on my do not use list. They said they noticed this but do not know why this happened.Please note that this is a very isolated case with one therapist but the scheduler should have notice this. We drive all the way from Tarpon to go to Essentials but the poor service by the therapist and focus on details by the scheduler questions if I should take a long drive back.I give them 4 stars because it is a very good place. The owners should speak with those involved to make sure the best service is given at all times.

My absolute favorite place in South Tampa! I have been getting massages and facials here since 2019. The specialists are very attentive to your areas of concern. Staff is welcoming as well. 11 out of 10🤩

I had the day of bliss package; a massage, facial and body scrub and it was excellent. But what really struck me was the thoughtfulness in the design. They gave me a robe and bag to hold my clothes, which is normal. But after my body scrub, they had the shower already heated up, big, fluffy towels, and a new robe after so I didnt have to put back on the one Id had over the body scrub. There was also shampoo, conditioner and body wash in there in case I felt my hair was oily or anything, which it wasnt. Then when I went back to the room the esthetician rubbed me down with a dry oil. I left not at all sticky or oily, which has happened at other places a few times. Sometimes you dont want to put your clothes on, youre too slick, but that wasnt the case at all. I highly recommend it, very relaxing

I am not from the area but my husband and I wanted a massage! From the exterior appearance we were nervous but the interior is well done! The therapists were so friendly and we were taken back for our massages and facials as soon as we arrived even though we were early! The male massage therapist was fantastic even my husband (who has only ever had female masseuses) said he enjoyed it! I also was very pleased with my facial, I am sad I don’t remember her name! My husband and I travel a lot and love visiting spas and this one was definitely wonderful!

Edit:Alex is THE best LMT Ive worked with. Healing meets relaxation. I came to her with a really messed up shoulder(pulling constantly on my neck) which I kept making worse. After a single session and some rest, my neck pain was gone.A second session and my shoulder has unfroze and I have better mobility and less discomfort.Just got out of my third session with her over the last two months and I feel like a new person. I will be back for a fourth session soon! Lisa at the front desk is so helpful and kind. She make sure your experience is pleasant. The whole spa is set up well and is extremely clean. The rooms are towards the back so your experience is always quiet. Lots of regulars and prices are reasonable.

I had an amazing experience here back in July! My massage and facial were relaxing and the professionals were friendly and attentive. It was clear they both truly cared about my body and skin health.

I went in for a 90 minute therapeutic massage, and let me start off by saying they had a promotion for $65! The prior two times I went for a massage, I wasn’t pleased at all and left upset, but this last massage was amazing! Jennifer was my masseuse and she got every knot that I had and didn’t even know I had our. I loved her technique of massage therapy! She applies just the right amount of pressure without it being too painful yet feeling so good! The spa has really good specials through out the week, and the spa overall is beautiful! I would highly recommend Jennifer!

The environment here is so relaxing and staff is friendly. Savannah was AMAZING, provided a great first time experience and helped me pick products suited for my skin type that I have already noticed results from! Will be coming back in a month. :)

This spa gets very high marks for decor and massage room appointment. High-end luxury-feel but with affordable prices for their services. You can tell the owner really cares about the spa.I got a relaxation massage which was OK, not great. The massage was a little too rough and rushed, not as relaxing as I would have liked. I will be coming back to try another therapist.

Had one of the best deep tissue massages Ive ever had. I almost fell asleep. Ive also had facials, infrared sauna etc from there. Cute little hidden gem and extremely well priced!

First visit, and I will be back. William gave me a great therapeutic massage, got all the kinks out (might have something to do with his prior chiropractic experience). Very reasonable prices, and excellent service, cant ask for more.

Ive been going to this spa you a couple of years now, my boyfriend and I love coming on Thursdays for their deep tissue massage. Every time has been great, except for the last one.I had Angel as a misuse, and she took me all the way to the back of the building. Her room was up front, but she said she was burning up and went to the back. I was so cold, I asked for a blanket and if they had socks I could buy. I had goosebumps the whole time. My hands were also freezing and she even made a comment about it.When she came into the spa, she was snacking on something and you could hear the crunch repeatedly. She laughed a few times (to herself) during the massage, although we didnt talk at all. She didnt ask me any questions. She also used gloves the whole time and while I understand this for Covid reasons, I wish the spa would have asked me if I care about that or not, I would have preferred no gloves.My boyfriend went with me and his misuse didnt use gloves, he was warm, she asked him questions, and he has a great massage.I will go here again, because I like their special, but will not use Angel, I do not want to go to the back of the building where its cold, and I will ask if the misuse I am with will be wearing gloves or not.EDIT: Their new location is wonderful and Ive been there several times!

They keep up with the latest technology in aesthetics and the new location is even prettier than the last! Id give this place 10 stars if they would let me! I was a little nervous about the simple exterior of the Henderson location, but I was blown away when I stepped into what looked like a newly renovated/decorated interior! Gorgeous! My massage therapist was Adella (sp?) and she was amazing!! I was in so much pain that I booked this appointment last minute and Im telling you I feel 100x better! The prices are more than reasonable and the service is perfection! I will be back! Soon!

I went there for facial and it was the worst experience ever. I have never known that 1 hr facial could be without extractions. At the start she told me that I have white heads so I think that she will remove them at some point. She only put some products which you can do at home too. No massage. the whole idea of facial is to increase circulation and she was no where near that. And when I asked about extraction she said I should have asked her. before. I have had facials at many places and this was the worst. I have been there fro massage and they are great however facial was very disappointing

I truly enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff is extremely nice. Ive had multiple massages and by far Aaron really knew how to work the knots out, overall best massage Ive ever had. I felt very relaxed after the massage. I will be back with a couples massage with my wife. This is by far my new favorite spot! Thanks Aaron and Essential!

If you want a stellar massage, this is your place. Ive had multiple back probs all my life - scoliosis, fibromyalgia, herniated discs - so Ive had many many massages from different places. The search is over - Essentials is the only place Ill ever go. Buffy is phenomenal, Ive been seeing her for almost a year now - however I was in pain last weekend and since she was booked up, I went with Alex, and he was great also! Other notables - everything is very clean (sorry but Im a clean freak and I notice dirt) and the attention to detail is everywhere. Super clean, relaxing, soothing, as soon as you enter the front door you are well taken care of. They really do care about your entire experience. Im so thankful my co-worker recommended Essentials Massage to me!

I came in for a Therapeutic massage, feeling stressed & tense.After my session I was completely different relaxed stress free!From the time I checked in everyone made me feel comfortable and very relaxed.I am impressed they are open seven (7) days a week until 9pm during week days!Just love this little hidden gem that turned out to be a HUGE SURPRISE!They have eighteen (18) therapists and offer everything from facials, dermaplanning, to several kinds of massage including medical massage & oncology massage too.Give them a look and you just might find something that you are going appreciate! The prices are extremely reasonable and affordable.So happy I found them!

I have been to this location on a few different occasions and worked with Anne this time on a therapeutic massage she was excellent and is very knowledgeable about massage and wellness overall. Im giving A 5 star review because Anne really helped me out!! In the past Ive actually been overcharged here by double and nothing was ever resolved.... should have left my review then But forgot. Came back again because its close to my house and they typically run great deals on slower days of the week.

This was absolutely the best massage I’ve EVER gotten. From the moment you walk in to this beautiful spa, the atmosphere instantly transports you to a place of serenity. As a mom to twin babies, this time of relaxation was SO special and really - really allowed me to feel pampered. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Essentials South Tampa! I booked 6 appts with signature massage. 3 facials and 3 massages to be specifically mommy daughter bonding time for my daughters birthday! When initially booking the appt, the receptionist stated that she couldn’t get our facials together. When she rearranged the appts, she arranged them super funky- and I again explained to her, that if the facials couldn’t be together, the massages needed to be- because that was the point of the spa day!! She booked the appts so the facials were split and the massages were together. When we got their- they did the first two facials as planned and then when it came to the massages, they said they would see how they could accommodate our request as they were not aware of this. They came back and said, they couldn’t get us in the same room, but then they would compensate us by 20% on the massages, but they would be short- as now we were already 20 min into the appointment. I explained no deal- as I signed up for 1 hour massages, and it was not my fault. They then agreed, but then one of the mesuse left and they could only give 2 massages. Finally, they said they would comp our services. We waited for 20 more minutes until I got impatient and went up to the desk to ask when they were going to call us back. Only to find out they canceled all of our appts. I spoke with Jackie the manager and explained the situation, who says she can’t offer anything else until she talks to the owner. She said she would call back within a couple of hours- and has not called back. When I called the business back, Jackie had already left for the day!! I drove an hour- sat for two hours, and had an hour drive home. Completely dissatisfied!! Poor communication- unprofessional business!!!

She must not care about what her customers think. She has lost my business and my daughters business. I have been spreading the word around South Tampa!

Im so surprised by these negative reviews, because my experience was positive from start to finish. Making an appointment over the phone was easy, and the business hours fit well with my work schedule. The woman at the front desk was friendly and genuine, and I didnt get that stuck-up vibe Ive encountered at some other massage studios. I paid for an hour-long massage and thats what I got--and it was one of the best massages Ive ever had. I have chronic back issues, and the day I went to Essentials, I was having trouble with steady pain on either side of my lower back. My massage therapist (wish I remembered her name) alternated between working on those two spots and the rest of my body--rather than simply digging into those two spots once and not returning to them--and as of about two weeks later, the pain is still gone.Maybe its not super swanky, but it more than suited my needs and was much more affordable than most places, the last two of which kept pushing membership packages on me (including while I was in the middle of the massage!). Id much rather pay a reasonable amount per visit, which is what Essentials offers. Ill be going back.

The owner is passionate about self care and friendly, shes always taking the time to explain different treatments and answer any questions I have. Great place! Highly recommended.

Love this spa! Massage prices are beyond reasonable that they keep me coming back every month. I even talked my boyfriend into going, and he looks forward to his deep tissue massages every two weeks now too! Guest services and massage therapists are always good! Our favorite massage therapists are Cookie and Adela!

The poor reviews are crazy to me.I had such an amazing experience from the minute I walked in. Its so beautiful and relaxing . I went in stressed out.. came out smiling .I LOVE this place. Marissa, my massage therapist did such an amazing job of connecting with me personally! I fell asleep during the reflexology! And the aesthetician ( I forget her name ) was absolutely amazing also . Very knowledgeable and comforting .Just love this place.

I absolutely love Essentials Spa and more specifically Leslie. What sets Leslie apart from the rest is her clinical knowledge, the way in which she puts a plan in place for your specific needs, and her genuine care for your results! I will be a client of Leslie’s for as long as she works at Essentials (and would follow her elsewhere) for those reasons alone. However, with that, her warm personality, communication skills, and professionalism just make the overall experience even better.You cannot go wrong with booking an appointment with Leslie and becoming her client. She will go above meeting your expectations.

First let me say the microdermabrasion was very nice. The esthetician did a good job and I was pleased with the service. Unfortunately, I almost walked out before my appointment because while I was sitting in the waiting room the owner was completely berating her son, who works at the front desk, for 10 minutes about everything he said. She was rude and condescending and I was extremely uncomfortable. It would be bad enough if she talked to him that way in private but myself and another gentleman were waiting for our appointments and he looked as disgusted as me. The only reason I stayed was out of respect for the therapist, it would have been too late for them to book her another client at that time.

Leslie was a great aesthetician. Very clean and cozy environment. Great prices. Will be back!! EDIT: Leslie left. Just saw Kaylee. I am so happy with my services from her. She is so sweet and is awesome at what she does!

We got there, to check in you have to wait because front desk lady is either talking with employees or in the phone. Waited to be told we were late and wouldn’t be served. Told “lady” that she was on the phone. Then, waited because she needed to speak with someone. She said ok, but will be served less time for same price. Entered, and instead of finishing at time. Massage was over 15 minutes earlier. Just got 30 minutes massage for the price of 1 hr.Long term client. When I speak with owner/manager, she is very nice and apologetic. Ask to speak with her. She will get it straightened.

My Massage was great but my wifes wasnt good at all the lady kept using one hand to text while massaging with the other. Price was not what was on website.Very friendly and priced well, just depends on which therapist you get I guess

My skin care treatments at Essentials South Tampa have been excellent. My first appointment I booked for a European facial. The esthetician, Leslie Crider, explained to me the benefits of doing a different type of facial for my skin type and explained the pricing. My last appointment was for a jet peel and couldn’t be happier with the results. Thank you so much Leslie for your knowledge! I will recommend you to all my friends and I will definitely be back.

The receptionist was extremely rude. I walked in to inquire about their packages and the set up of their rooms so that I can buy a gift card for a friend. I drove 35 min to get to South Tampa, specifically to visit Essentials Spa. Unfortunately, I walked out because of poor customer service. They certainly do not deserve my money. A spa should have a welcoming and warm ambiance and this spa did not. I recommend that the receptionist receive some additional training on how to appropriately speak to customers. I will not be purchasing a gift card here nor will I ever come back to this spa.

It was my first time at Essentials Massage. I had the European facial and it was great. I highly recommend Savanah, she is very knowledgeable and gentle. I would definitely coming back.

Nice spa and for the special Wednesday pricing of $29.95 for a relaxation massage it is well worth the price. It also allows you to give your therapist a larger tip since the cost of the service is reduced. Will start coming on Wednesdays more often.

I had been going to Massage Envy for years, but one visit to Essentials was all it took for me to never look back! The spa is SO relaxing, laid back, and clean. Just walking in puts me in a good mood, and the entire spa smells so nice. I did not feel rushed, as was the case at ME, and the prices are so much better; Ill be able to have more frequent treatments and try out new things here, and not break the bank!

This place is amazing! Been 4 or 5 times and every person I have had is great. Very professional, peaceful and relaxing. The couple massage was also great for Valentine’s Day. After visiting a couple other day spas, I have realized even more how amazing this place is especially compared to others.

I heard of Essentials through a couple family members and friends, and they seemed very pleased so I decided to give it a try. I immediately felt a sense of relief when I walked in the door. The atmosphere was perfectly serene. I requested Jantu per a few google reviews, and it wasnt a mistake (60 min Therapeutic turned into 90 min). It was one of the most therapeutic massages I have ever had, if not the most. I thought that my problems were pretty much all caused by my 9-5 desk job, and he not only informed me that it was so much more than that, he also explained how to fix said causes in such a simple and kind way. He mainly focused on my problem areas in my shoulders/pecks, and discovered more areas that needed attention without enough time. The Spa and Jantu were able to accommodate me by extending my massage for another 30 min. All around it was definitely a five-star experience and I will 110% be back. Im so glad to have been introduced to this hidden gem of South Tampa!

Arrived for my 6pm appointment at 5:23pm, and my scheduled masseuse went MIA, he was there according to staff but just after my appointment time no one could find him at 6:30pm the lady at the front desk rescheduled me with a Massuse that had 7pm available and that appointment didn’t start until 7:15pm and ended at 7:56pm prompt. After waiting an hour and 45 minutes I still ended up losing out on my hour massage. The second Massuse was good but the rush factor ruined the experience. This was my first time with Essentials Massage and it was without a doubt my worst experience, as a small business owner of The Mens Wax Spa, I would have comped the service or at least offered a complimentary next service in attempt to rectify poor experience instead I was offered $15 off which I gave back in tip for the Massuse that stepped in and provided the service. I’m not at all happy with the establishment which is unfortunate because it was a nice place and the staff I did encounter were friendly.

I have been a loyal regular at this spa under previous owners. I moved away from Tampa in May of 13. I returned for a week in November 14. I heard the ownership had changed. I called several times but the voice mail was haywire. I was put on hold several times and my calls were either not returned or I was not booked. I went back for a massage and the lady was amazing. I called several times and finally got a booking with her for the following day. Only to arrive and find out that I was booked with the wrong person! This was so embarrassing. I tried to explain this to the The 20 something receptionist but she was completely zoned out! She cut me off in the middle of the sentence and started talking to the next customer. The customer pointed out what she had done to which she responded no your fine.. I walked out! I hope someone competent buys this place very soon and that this current ownership is only a transition phase. Otherwise all the hard work of the previous owners will be wasted..Such a pity!

The practitioners we had for both massage and facials during each of our last four visits were good overall and very professional. During one recent visit, we also book a 90 minute massage and the therapist shorted the time down to 60 minutes total and explained that they are permitted to give the client approx 20 minutes to prepare on either end of the appt which made 0% sense. Not the usual standard of practice----and the owner didnt seem to care when we asked about it. We still had to pay for 90 min instead an hour. During our 4 out of 4 visits the owner, was rude, non personal, and made no effort to create a personalized customer experience from a positive and polite manner. As we observed her each time at the front desk, greeting clients, answering the phone and her mannerisms were the same - negative and rude. This place has great potential. However, if the spirit of an organization, starts from the top down- there are definitely major improvements to be honored. Hope this helps!

I got the deep tissue massage by a guy (forgot his name) and it was the most painful non relaxing 90min experience , it felt like he was purposely trying to hurt me and as if he was rushing through it, I left in pain vs relaxed ...I dont know why I even left a tip, the music in the room didnt even work until like 20min later........UPDATE: I APPRECIATE THE OWNER and DIRECTOR FOR FOLLOWING UP WITH ME IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER, ESSENTIALS IS BACK IN MY GOOD GRACES.

VERY disappointed with this establishment. I have come here a couple of times in the past and really enjoyed their services. But, when I came in to get the elite facial(priced at $280) the esthetician told me that she was unable to perform the micro needling(priced at $125). The esthetician communicated to me that she thought that I was informed. I was not. In fact, I received a phone call a week in advance as well as the day before to make sure I was still coming in for the elite facial. I even changed my schedule around to comply with the CDC’s regulations for them. I understand that it’s a trying time, but It’s EXTREMELY unprofessional and disrespectful to make the client drive an hour to not receive a service that they were promised. At the end of day, a business is based on how they treat their customers.

Facility, front desk, and masseuse were nice enough. However, I booked a therapeutic massage for 80 minutes and the masseuse spent maybe 5-10 minutes working on that area. I know everything is connected and to relieve discomfort in one area you sometimes need to address another area, but I’ve had enough therapeutic massages to know she did not do what was requested. Additionally, the next day I woke up with so much neck and back pain that I can not bend over, look down, or turn my head side to side. Again, I know some muscle soreness is common, but I would put this at level 8-9 pain that is still present 2 days later. I have tried Bio Freeze, Ibuprofen, and hot compresses which bring the pain down to a 6 and gives me a little mobility immediately after use, but then it is right back to extreme pain and stiffness 20 minutes later. I have received over 50 massages in my life, and this was by far the worst. I will not be back.

Alex was super attentive! I feel a great sense of relief from the trigger points that were in my upper back. The Neuromuscular message was the one she did & she helped a lot with my tension headaches. Also beautiful facility!

DO NOT COME HERE !!! Oh my goodness the receptionist named LIBBY AND THE TECHNICIAN NAMED LESILE WERE TERRIBLE!!! I was screamed and clapped at !! very unprofessional. It was my moms birthday and we just lost my brother and thought this would be a great relaxation place, even though we wanted to go to the trinity location anyway, we settled for south Tampa. Honestly worst place ever. Libby told me my mom and my aunt to get the HELL OUT after paying, and mumbled the n word under breath. Leslie did not helped she escalated the situation way more than it needed to be by clapping and yelling as well. No apology was made not once. This is not the behavior employees at a relaxing place should have. My massage was great and facial but now I’m stressed all over again.

The massage therapist that did my European massage was awesome. Very polite and made me feel very comfortable.The person at the front desk, libby, was a nightmare. And I feel traumatized after that interaction with her. She seemed very agitated and aggressive from the beginning. When I entered the establishment I told them I may want to change the service that we booked, she cut me off and told me that we wanted to get started right away because we were running behind. She did not allow me to review the other services or even offer to explain anything to me. She was gossiping with the other receptionist as if I wasnt standing there. I ignored her microaggressions and moved on.After the session, we (it was my friends birthday) calculated the total and it came to $105.Libby said the total would be $120. We asked her can you please go over the breakdown of the price.she was rolling her eyes and exasperating every few seconds> then said it would be $130.We were genuinely confused as to why she was being so aggressive at that point. We told her we think there are some discrepancies here.She held up a piece of paper and said didnt your therapist tell you there would be a 70 dollar charge?We replied with can you please breakdown the price. She ran through the charges and it came to $120.00.maam there is a discrepancy here, can we get a full run down in writing.She kept talking over us and huffing and puffing in exasperation. She was jumping between her calculator and the computer. She seemed confused and agitated. she stated she was going to get the therapist. The therapist verified that there was a misunderstanding, the therapist said there would be a 20 dollar upcharge when in all actuality it would a 70 upcharge and the actual price should be $275. Either way the receptionist and the therapist kept coming up with the wrong price.Libby charged our card the original price that was given to us by the therapist, she tossed our card on the counter although we handed her the card in her hand. then claimed she could not provide a receipt. I asked if she could email or print it out she acted like she could not do so. We asked for the owner she stated she could not reach them or provide their info. I asked for her to take our info to give to the manager to have them reach out to us. Libby did not respond. We finally got fed up on waiting for our receipts so we turned around pushed the door open and she screams: yeah now get the hell outWe turned to her > I am appalled that you could speak to a customer this way especially after you provided the incorrect price, you did not apologize for your mistake, no receipt, on top of it you have the nerve to curse. Now I am not leaving until you figure out how to get a receipt.LIBBY raised her voice and waved her arms around saying get out of here I cant get a receipt I swear. Another receptionist joined her, she did not acknowledge us or how we were treated. nor did she ask libby to lower her voice or apologize. Everyone in the room seemed oblivious to p behavior.She assisted libby and got the receipt printed out.Libby was unbelievably hostile. I have never ever in my life experienced such aggressive and degrading service.Mistakes happen all the time but I never, ever expected the employee to escalate the situation. She showed that she had a personal vendetta from the beginning. I believe no matter your personal beliefs, when you clock into work, all of that needs to be put to the side and you need to treat all of your customers with an equal amount of respect. Libby made it clear as day that she believed that we deserved less respect than everyone else in the establishment. She made it very clear that although she was completely wrong...that she thought we deserved to be embarrassed and spoken to as if we were criminals. She refused to swallow her pride and apologize for her behavior. If any of my employees handled an interaction with a customer this way I would have dismissed them immediately.

Cookie and Adela do a great job and are very professional.Some turnover in the past may have resulted in lowered customer service but this place is awesome and now offers more services!Their new location is much larger and more elegant with much quieter atmosphere. Only complaint is whenever the AC kicks on, there is a whoosh of sudden noise.

I had a 90 minutes deep tissue massage. My therapist was Marc M. The therapist carefully addressed the problem areas with custom made techniques and a professional, therapeutic approach. He also gave me recommendations for exercise and stretching. The outcome and therapeutic results were excellent.

Had a facial with Maria and it was amazing!!! The spa is beautiful inside, it looks like heaven. The entrance is super hidden and I wish the sign was bigger or maybe bolder. But truly amazing.

Leslie put a plan in place to help me reach my skincare goals and I couldn’t be more satisfied. She does her research and customizes your plan based on your wants/needs!

Rasheem (sp) - 2hr therapeutic/2hr deep tissue; was really good and he also used hot towels; if youve got booty tightness issues, hes sure to get up in there and loosen it up like Crystal whereas others may not be too comfortable with that. No issue with timeliness of massage. Would def recommend him.#3. Catherine - 2hr therapeutic; awesome, pressure, very relaxed, hot towels; even used special balm for my sore muscles and special aroma oils to open senses; paid attention to detail, focusing more emphasis on key areas from our pre-massage talk. I was called to the room about 7 min late though. Highly recommend!#4. Buffy - 2hr therapeutic; relaxing/hot towels. I felt the pre-massage talk should have been included in the 10 min dressing time so my only concern was that actual massage was 93 vs 110 min. Recommend if you can get your full time!3. Adele- 2hr deep tissue/85 min cranial sacral. I noticed whenever Im with her, 15 min or more are cut off my time; I brought it to her attention the first time, but she disagreed with me. Her massages are ok.4. MJ -2 hr therapeutic; I got my full 110 minutes of massage with her! I left a negative review initially as my massage was constantly interrupted by Spotify ads and pressure was extremely light, but when I sent a co-worker here about a week later, his experience was totally different. I believe MJ may have seen thr initial review and or maybe she was just under the weather the day I came. He informed me she really got deep in his muscles; got out those knots out, and he wasnt sore afterwards like hed come in; music was also fixed.As far as facials, Ive had two. Dont know the name of the first lady, but the one with Amy was awesome - I give her an A+. She gave guidance on better daily/weekly routines and key ingredients in products to look for.

Clean and Friendly environment. Alex and Zane are amazing and always professional. Their consistency is what keeps me coming back. However the rest of the massage therapists that I have been forced to try due to unavailability have been total oddballs and if I pay for a deep tissue massage I expect a deep tissue massage. They barely apply pressure and when its over im more relieved to just be off of that table. I used to go weekly with my fiancee but we decided it wasnt worth it if we cant get in with alex or zane. I am going to try other places from now on I loved that this place was so affordable but if the massages are not good it isnt worth it.

Very disappointed with my services on January 26, 2019. This was apart of my Bridal shower party. Management is the absolute worst. My therapist was inexperienced. I received the most awful foot massage and swedish massage was ok. my feet hurt when I got there and were hurting when I leftI had to tell therapist to message heel of my feet. The worst part of the ordeal is management did not try to accommodate apologize or empathize with with my disappointment. Bailey, the supervisor stated I should have gotten off the table if I was not satisfied.

Been to this spa a few times, everyone has been so friendly and accommodating. First time in a infrared sauna bed and massage after. Was the best experience. The facility is so clean and beautiful. Would recommend this spa to everyone.

Ive went here many times before and I really like Cookie. She did my pregnancy massages. She does a great job. I had someone else before, I forget the name, but she was terrible. Hurt my back for like 4 days and tried to have me lay down on the table with my clothes and shoes still on. The massages are about 45 minutes, not an hour. The receptionist needs to learn how to do her job though. I deliberately said I wanted Cookie to do my mothers birthday massage and I was told she could do it the next day. ..nope she totally lied. Cookie wasnt even scheduled. I called later and she acted like it was no big deal. I sent my mom with a pic of my baby to give to Cookie, but no she wasnt even working. Its cheaper there for a reason i guess. I dont even want to go back. Ive worked in customer service for a long time. That was terrible.

I had a spa day planned for my mom birthday and it was the worst. We arrived 40 minutes early to complete the pwk. They finally took my mom them 10 minutes into their time, we had been sitting in the party room which they have no cheese and crackers or cookies (what is the party room for🤔, we asked for another glass of wine we were denied, and then 25 minutes after I was suppose to be into my massage someone come . I got on the table at 425 and they were rushing me out the room at 450. I pd for 4 massages and never recieved 2..Never go there again!!!

For The Dads! We took a group of dads here for a relaxation massage for fathers day and it was great. The dads were a little reluctant at first but overall enjoyed it. The staff member, Iliana, was very helpful and patient with us.

Got a facial with extraction from Alicia! She was awesome! My face feels glowy and clear. She gave me great tips to keep my skin clean and clear! Very soothing and relaxing.

So apparently a mini spa day is 69.99 but when you go in and get everything they upgrade you without telling you. So when you leave the price is actually over a 100 dollars. You really should tell people if you’re going to upgrade them on their facials. You can’t just do something and expect people to pay for something they were not expecting. I will not recommend this place to anyone. If you like false advertisements and being lied to, this place is for you.

Had a 110 min neuro-muscular massage with Bruce while visiting from out of town. Id been looking to be introduced to this type of body work for a while and Im so glad this was my introduction.This is not a passive type of massage but I got so much out of it and loved that he explained what he was doing and how it tied in to overall benefits and health.Wish I lived in the area!

There is a reason there are such low reviews on this site. I still gave them a shot because I wanted to keep it supporting local tampa, but they were rude and gave me a 35 minute massage for the hour massage and charged me full price. Even though the receipt showed what time I was checked out and I called humbly to inform them of my disappointment, they did not care and told me thats not the case. We were looking for someone to go to twice a week since our jobs require that, and they just lost our business. Horrible experience.

I recently had an absolutely horrible experience with Christie. She was very fast, almost rushed. And rough! Throwing my arms and legs instead of gently placing them where they needed to be.What I got from her wasnt even classified as a massage. It was like acupressure but not as strong. Just light pressing, and rubbing oil really hard and very fast. She was all over the place. Nothing about it was smooth, flowing, or relaxing. This went on for about 10 mins, then I made the decision to cut down from the 2 hour deep tissue I requested, to 1 hour just to get it over with. It was not relaxing in the least. If anything it made me even more tense and aggravated. It made me think, did she even go to massage school?Every time I find someone good, they leave the company after a few months, it makes me wonder, what is going on there?on the plus side, catherine is great at deep tissue. and amy is great at facials, very relaxing.

Horrible. The absolute worst facial I have ever had. I went in for a relaxing facial. Next thing I know she tells me she is going to do microdermabrasion. It was excruciatingly painful. I had long dark red lines up and down my face for weeks after. They said i would look better and my husband and I both agree I looked older because of it. Be careful ladies. It was a nightmare.

I had a deep tissue massage with Adela and it was very nice. She really listened to me, the room was relaxing and the music was soft. I felt so much better after I left and I will see her again.

I received a facial the other day and the microdermabrasion portion has left my entire face bruised. I have long streaky bruises that are scary for me to look at. This shouldnt have happened. In addition to this, none of the products were applied to my neck or decollete, and the facial wasnt worth it at all.I am extremely unhappy and disappointed that my face is bruised.Would not recommend going here for any facial services.

Literally the worst place ever. We had run in with a terrible secretary and ended up talking with management from a different location. She said that we could have a free spa day. After waiting a few months later we called and that manager was fired. The manager that replaced her couldnt seem to find a note on the account. That manager ended up talking to the owner, Jerry Cugno. Jerry began to tell my wife that she made it all up in her head and its all in your dreams. We have been going there for five years and will never go there again.

Nice spa for reasonable prices. I’ve gone several times for facials and massages and they were just ok. I’ve had bad experiences with specials being listed on website but manager saying they don’t exist when trying to make an appointment or pay so beware.

Very disappointed by the customer service at this location (Kennedy Blvd, Tampa). We called to make an appoinment for a Valentines day massage and when I showed up for the appointment, they insisted that no appointment was made. Instead of looking for a mistake that could have been on thier part, they insisted that we called the wrong location. No accommodation attempt was made, ie can you see another massage therapist, can you come back at another time, just insisting that no appointment was made. Then when we call back on Monday, amazingly theres a record of me being in the system with no services attached. So whos at fault here?My sister feels terrible for recommending that my husband use this place to surprise me with a deep tissue massage for Valentines day.

I experienced my first microderm and peel last week with Mitzy. She was amazing! My face feels like a baby, she massaged my face, décolletage and neck... I was so relaxed, warm and at peace. Im so thankful that I decided to pamper myself.

I don’t like leaving negative reviews but the massage bed was not comfortable at all more like a thin, firm cushion. The bed kept squeeking and moving during the entire one hour massage.

Good prices. Know that the 60 minute massage is only 43 minutes of actual time with the therapist, and a deep tissue massage is mostly a gentle massage with a little bit of elbow added in to the back.
