Got here around 11:30 am on Saturday for a friends birthday brunch, so we had a pretty large group (10+). I expected chaos and delays with service but got the exact opposite. The waitresses started taking orders about 10 minutes after we were seated. Brought us drinks and appetizers in under 15 minutes. We had to leave early to catch a flight, so we ordered entrees and they were out around the same time as the appetizers. I ordered the Rock the Boat and it was delicious. Perfectly fried and seasoned catfish, the collard greens and grits all complimented each other. The restaurant is a vibe. Theres art on the walls, a live band playing in the lounge area, the staff was pleasant and it felt very cultured. The only gripe I have is that the mens bathroom could use some touching up, but other than that I would recommend 7th and Grove and will visit them again in the future.
Wow. This place is amazing. If you go at the beginning of a shift, just be on time. They wont let you in early if they are changing shifts.Food is astonishing. Its the next day and Im still thinking of it. Ill add pictures. They wont do justice. We all tried each dish and all were amazing. Im trying now to think of reasons to go back (its an hour and a half drive for me. But were gonna do it.Atmosphere got a single drop in rating, as its kinda loud, but we got used to it pretty fast. And it was good music. So thats helped.
We came here for an early dinner (about 5pm). We ordered the deviled eggs with the seafood and they were BOMB! I ordered the Dive In and it was delicious. The portions of all of our meals were great and the flavor was amazing!! We will definitely be back to try brunch. Our server Derek was great! He explained the menu and recommended some good items. He was very kind, attentive and friendly! We will be requesting him every time we come in!
The staff was great, everyone was friendly, very welcoming, and accommodating as well! The egg rolls were my fav thing from there ngl. Our drinks were really good they just weren’t strong. Highly recommended for a lit brunch or a chill one considering they have two separate sides depending on your mood.
I came in and had the all you can eat brunch, which came with bottomless mimosas. This establishments has a nice setup. Very trendy decor and the DJ had the place jumping!! They also provided hookah and photos for additional charge. I don’t normally eat grits, but theirs were pretty good, bread pudding was fire, and the fried chicken was crispy. The only reason I didn’t rate five stars is because the lack of tentativeness our server had. Wherever I asked for something it took her a long time to return to our table. Overall this place is nice for a ladies, birthday, or couples brunch.
This place does get busy on Sundays, so come early. From the time we entered the Restaurant/Lounge everything was spectacular. I highly recommend the flight deviled eggs as an appetizer. I had to order them twice they were so delicious. Thanks for an awesome first-time experience,my new favorite Sunday spot.
Nice little vibe of a place. Remind me of the typical hookah, DJ-infused nightlife in ATL. Food was outstanding, from appetizers to main entrees. We had a party of 20+, so the service was extremely slow, BUT they made up for it in their culinary experience. Drinks were extremely pricey, we went across the street for cheaper options. If you value vibe and taste, then this was a great selection in Tampa.
I’m in Tampa on a work trip and my boss recommended this restaurant. When I walked in I was confused but then Lele let me know I can take a seat anywhere I like. I ordered the Rude boi and the jerk egg rolls; I loved both!!!!!After I received my food it started getting crowded; it was like everyone had the same idea for happy hour lol. It was busy busy with one waiter( Lele)Let me tell you not one time did Lele get mad, frown her face, or roll her eyes etc. she apologized to her customers and continued to get people their orders. It was a few other staff members that came out to help her out and all of them were outstanding!!! Shoot even the customers waited patiently, I guess today was a good day!!!
My guy and I was visiting Ybor City for a quick getaway. I made reservations that were confirmed. We arrived at the restaurant and there was a business mixer, so therefore, we were not able to sit on the side of the restaurant that we made the reservation for. I was not pleased with my reservation being treated as if it didn’t matter because we were celebrating an occasion as well. However, the food, our service and the atmosphere made up for my disappointment. We started off with a Heineken and a Kiwi Palmer. The Kiwi Palmer was excellent. We indulged in a starter, D’evils topped with Fried Chicken. That was pretty good. We ordered two Entrees, The Brown Sugar and The Smoking Out the Window. My guy said that the Brown Sugar was good. The Smoking Out the Window was excellent. I had an excessive amount of Mac and Cheese but not enough Collard Greens. This was quickly remedied by our waitress with no problem at all. All of the waitresses were nice and very easy to talk to. Not to mention, they provided the utmost attentive service. My guy and I were even able to get a table side photograph from their in house photographer. After our visit on the side where we ate dinner, we were finally able to go on the other side in which we had an even better time chatting, ordering two more Kiwi Palmers, and turning up. The music was great as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The only suggestion that I have is to follow up on reservations.
Good food and servicePros: Okay so this restaurant is located in Ybor City Historic District adjacent to downtown Tampa. We made reservations however the restaurant was not at all busy. We went on a Saturday at 6pm. One half is an actual restaurant with a kitchen and the other half is a lounge with a dj that has a club type of vibe for a pretty young crowd (20s-30s ish). All of the food and drink choices are mostly named after celebrities/musical artists/rappers/songs. We ate in the restaurant and ordered the deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes to start. The deviled eggs were meh. The fried green tomatoes were good. We wanted to try the egg rolls but they were all out. For the entrees we had oxtails (Rude Boi) which were really really good. It came with mashed potatoes, collards, yams, and potatoes. Excellent flavor. We also had the turkey leg (Good and Plenty). The turkey leg came on a bed of alfredo pasta mixed with collards, and had jumbo shrimp and garlic Cuban toast on the side. It was a huge portion and we definitely had leftovers for the next day. It had a really good flavor and looked and tasted great. For drinks we had the Missy Elliot margarita which was just okay and the Doja Cat which was made with Vodka+strawberry puree+watermelon puree+sour+sprite. It was excellent. Our waiter Coco was really nice and helpful with the menu as this was our first time eating here.Cons: there was music playing in the restaurant as well as the lounge and the lounge music was so so loud it completely drowned out the music in the restaurant. We wanted dessert (Sweetest Hangover) which was a peach cobbler type dessert, but they were out of everything except bread pudding and fried Oreos (not in the mood for either).Overall we enjoyed our meal. It was a little on the expensive side but well worth the price and the experience. Our total for two people was about $145 and we left a $30 tip. Would definitely recommend checking this place out
The food tasted amazing. My entire group enjoyed, we were just a little annoyed because we were forgotten by the hostess and gad to wait another 30 minutes for a waiter. I will say our waiter Ronny helped turn this experience around! He was incredibly and made up for the service prior. Only giving stars because the food was soo good and Ronny helped us!!!
Went here with my girls for Sunday Brunch and the atmosphere and food was AMAZING, the service TOP TIER! Our server Ronny was truly a delight! He was kind and attentive! He got all the orders right the first time and even went above and beyond for extras that we asked for or didn’t even know we needed! If you go Ask for Ronny! He will take care of you! Add the delicious and variety of food with great tasting drinks and you already know! Great Brunch Place in Tampa🥰
Went to celebrate a birthday a party of 2 and it was very much nice and upscale ! “Wish I would have worn my heels lol but my scandals was cute and gave what they were supposed to give 😂” but CoCo and Ronny was tag teaming us as our servers and I thought that was awesome while serving other tables with larger parties ! We asked both what they recommended and they basically said the same thing the LOADED NOLIA 💪🏽 so we got that with GET YOUR MFN ROLL ON egg rolls for our started with a side of CRY ME A RIVER which took forever to come ! Idk what the kitchen staff was doing but not making my food add my date had her food long before me 😂 but no biggie all of it was fresh and hot ! We had DOJA CATS to drink (BOMB) with some side shots of Tito’s ! We didn’t have room for desert but we will be returning ! ASK FOR COCO OR RONNY GREAT SERVERS
Service wasnt terrible but communication amongst the team could be improved a tad. Food was pretty good . But the overall ambiance was TOP TIER!! Thay have the hookahs. Bottles are the standard club pricing. It was super slow on the Saturday i went. But not complaining at all. It was a nice lad back Saturday. I know this place can definitely turn on the special events. 10/10 recommend. I plan on coming back.
I don’t even know where to begin. How we had never been here I have no idea. From the start, we got here at 10:55 and there were already quite a few people waiting outside for them to open at 11:00. We were greater by quite a few people - all extremely friendly. This is a black owned business and it shows in the details. From the beautiful decor, to the amazing service (shout out to Jamila), to the food. The food. Again, it’s hard to put it all into words. Starting with the flight of deviled eggs (Jamila wasn’t lying about the chicken and shrimp ones) to the crab cake in the “All about the Benjamins”- collard greens were on point- my husband had the “Good Day” and he even questioned how something as simple as an egg could be so amazing. I could go on and on obviously but the moral of the story is this: DO NOT PASS UP A CHANCE TO EAT HERE. Even if you just have a drink and look at the menu- there is nothing here that could disappoint someone. And if there is, you need to stay home and check your existence.
The food here was great! Very tasty & seasoned to perfection. My friend & I did not have reservations and experienced some slight confusion when we were waiting to be seated. I attempted to make reservations online prior to our arrival but I was unable to (maybe because it was the weekend?). All of the tables on the active side of the restaurant had been reserved for the day and we were taken upstairs to an inside balcony area as a result. We wanted to sit at the bar but was told there was not more room. It took so long for us to be waited on that we requested to go back downstairs to the other quieter side of the restaurant. This entire transaction took about 20 minutes and we waited an additional 20 minutes to receive our food. However, once we received our food it was very good. The drinks were pricey but also very good. The manager, chef, and server were all very nice and made sure we were comfortable during our time there. The DJ on our side also played some great music mixed with recent hits & throwbacks. I would definitely eat here again, I would just make sure I make reservations in advance by calling the restaurant.
Lets just say 7th and Grove wasnt my idea of a delightful brunch experience. The food was a real let down, especially considering the price point. We dove into the flap jacks, hoping for some fluffy goodness, but instead wrestled with a tough, dry disc that wouldnt cut cleanly. The fried chicken and French toast combo was another miss. The chicken was limp and soggy, a far cry from the crispy, juicy bird you crave. The French toast itself wasnt much better, leaving us wondering if theyd forgotten the whole eggy soak part of the preparation. On top of the lackluster food, forget about having a relaxing conversation. The music was cranked up to an ear-splitting volume, making conversation nearly impossible. If youre searching for a peaceful brunch spot, this aint it.Overall, 7th and Grove left me feeling like Id overpaid for a mediocre meal in a sonic assault zone. Id recommend keeping your money and heading elsewhere for your next brunch adventure.
This review is long overdue ( sorry yall). My wife and I used to live close by and this was our favorite date night. This Restaurant, and this family hold a special place in my heart, considering this was The restaurant that we had our first date at, had a small engagement dinner, and the first place we ate at after we got married. Every single person that works here is so down to earth and makes your experience memorable. The drinks are so tasteful and just the right amount of liquor, that’s how they get you to keep coming Back😂. The food O.M.G!!! I don’t have one complaint. It is always fresh, and warm. Presentation is 100 out of 100. The taste, and the spices all come together so perfectly. It has enough space for everybody! Drag brunch.. LIT! Photograph props.. PERFECTION. Lightening..A1. We have never missed a place so much until we moved. I recommend this time and time again. All of you deserve everything good in the world. We miss you!
This spot was really fun and the music was giving. Definitely a lounge vibe but the VIP booths were large enough to allow some dancing. Mostly a scene for drinking, eating, and linking up. We didnt get food because it was so high in price so were the drinks. They did offer hookah too tho as well as bottle service. The food was actually in a separate location but was collaboratively set next door to the lounge (as was the restroom). They have main floor sitting and balcony tables. I had a lot of fun and would go again. I like that they reserve nights for the culture. Very grown and sexy. People were dressed to impress 👌.
One of the best spots to eat in Ybor, especially for Brunch! Our waitress, Jamicia was mad cool, very informative and timely 🤙🏾 Their menu is 🔥🔥🔥 w a bunch of options for any diet. The lounge spot is a vibe in itself w the breakfast buffet and unlimited mimosas 🥂 Definitely coming back and repping for the ✊🏾💯
The music is everything here! It gave 90s and today, I ate the shrimp and grits with creole sauce fried okra and chicken sausage, so yummy! 10/10! I didn’t like the portion, it was that of a child in my opinion, I was still hungry afterwards. I did notice hookah and drink deals, loved the aesthetic, the bartender was nice, I wasn’t greeted when I walked in however, more so looked at. I also didn’t like the 20% service fee added to my bill, I was solo and only ordered that meal. Overall decent experience. I heard brunch is lit 🔥
We had a large party of 15+. The food was delicious and came out hot. The lamb chops were tender. The oxtails fell off the bone. The catfish nuggets were well seasoned.Ask about their in house hot sauce, it was fire. The servers were attentive and kind. Hats off to Jarvis one of the managers he made sure we were all good!!
I was in Tampa for 2.5 days for work and “7th & Grove” was the breath of fresh air I needed. I had an amazing time and I’d go back again!Food 👍🏾: The food was tasty and the portion were plentiful. I order the brown sugar salmon, brussel sprouts, rice & 2 margaritas (peach & strawberry). The seasoning they put on the salmon was the perfect blend of sweet and savory. Also, the give a hearty potion of salmon, normally restaurants give you a think cut — so, I was pretty much a fan when I seen the salmon. The brussel sprouts were cooked well and tasted great. I also enjoyed the rice. The margs were nice and strong as well.Service 😬: The service was okay. It seemed like they were short on staff. It took us a long time to received our food and drinks. I also wasn’t a fan of the waitresses trying to pressure you to tip even more (I always tip and this time was no different). I have a tip and she essentially asked for more. I thought that was odd. I’ve never seen/heard that before.Atmosphere 👍🏾: The atmosphere was great: The DJ had us all vibing. The ambiance was nice and the establishment was clean. Everyone one was just chillin and having a good time. There was ample space and seating.I spent over $50 (Idk if it was worth all of that). I would go back.*3.5 stars. ✨✨✨
From making reservations to sitting down, everything was amazing ! Tiara was our hostess, and I honestly couldnt have asked for anyone better. The food was amazing and the drinks were delicious. Everyone in my group enjoyed everything. My one and only complaint would be that everyone got their food at different times . I like that we all got hot food but everyone was almost done and I still didnt have my food. I will definitely be returning, and I honestly hope It can be with Tiara.
Stopped by for lunch. Just me. The restaurant was not busy. Ordered a Yuengling and So Fresh, So Clean salad, no chicken, added shrimp. Waitress was pleasant. After placing my order, was informed the kitchen did not have avocado or the avocado ranch. About 30 minutes later my salad arrived. I had to double check that I had ordered correctly, because what I received looked nothing like the menu description. No spring mix, no deviled eggs, no crispy onions and no jalapenos werent fried, and, of course, no guacamole. The waitress brought out two egg halves when I inquired about the salad, but told me the iceberg lettuce was all the kitchen had.Overall, $42 for a cafeteria salad, 5 shrimp and a skunky bottle of beer. Disappointing meal for sure.
I recently dined at this restaurant, and I must say that my experience was delightful, largely thanks to our wonderful waiter, Ronnie. From the moment we walked in, he made us feel welcome and valued.Throughout the meal, Ronnie was attentive without being intrusive. He promptly took our orders, ensured our drinks were refilled, and checked on us just the right amount of times. He timing was impeccable. We left the restaurant not just satisfied with our meal, but deeply impressed by the level of hospitality we received. We cant wait to return, and we hope to see Ronnie again, who we now consider not just our waiter, but our friend.
So starting off. This was a Brunch for my Bday(33). Which I Planned over a week & a Half so things could be in Order & smooth, The section we got was just the Perfect size for the amount of People who actually came to celebrate me. The venue was super busy, Putting a Delay on food, But when my Meal finally made it out it was nothing less than delicious, only Reason I gave a 4 star is because a quarter of the Plate was cold, But I was starving & already having a bad morning from my Date cancelling on me. But it turned out amazing how sweet our Server Catalina was, she went above & beyond with how busy it was to accommodate our section & juggle the other stuff she was doing aswell. Shoutout to Her, Dj MV, & Rob Deisel !!! She saves my B-Day, I highly recommend her if you ever do Brunch here.
My first experience was great here. Great atmosphere and the vibe is cool. Menu is great. Prices are high so be careful when ordering. Service was amazing we had Yaya and she definitely took care of our large party and some of us were running late. She will be the reason plus the food I’ll visit again.Very nice spot
Food was amazing. I had the crab cake and Gouda cheese grits. The vibe and menu theme are great as well. They have a buffet lounge during brunch as well that was nice. The server we had couldve been a little more attentive. I know its busy, but we had to wait a while a good little while for her to bring backs things wed asked for.Id definitely recommend and I would come back.
This place is a whole Vibe. It was so laid back and the food was soooooo good. America was our Bar manager and I would hang out with chic because she was the best. She was everything mixed with the ambiance....BABBBBYYYYYY, I LOVE IT HERE. If you havent been here you better step in because it is the best spot Ive been to in Tampa!Way to go 7th Grove. I hope all of the people are like America. She needs to be your Trainer. She had an AWESOME attitude and you dont find that everywhere.
Well known in Tampa for having some of the best vibes. We ate on the side that’s more laid back, R&B music and great food. The drinks were outstanding. The service was great and very attentive and accommodating. I recommend the catfish bites for sure and their old fashion was super impressive. The other side of the spot is more lit, and still great vibes. I also recommend.
This place is the freaking bomb!!! Good vibes, excellent service and phenomenal food. We had 7 dishes and all were out of this world flavor. For apps we had Cuban Egg Rolls, Jalapeño Cornbread and Fried Green Tomatoes and all were awesome! For entrees we had the “Tell Me Something Good” seared salmon & shrimp and “Rock The Boat” Creole catfish. Both were unbelievable! For dessert we had “Rock Steady” pecan banana pudding and “Hit Different” Cuban bread pudding which are out of this world! Kudos to the chefs! This place is special!!!
Worst service ever. If it wasnt for the food quality I would probably would have cried. I came for the Sunday bottomless brunch. We had a 35 minute wait time but waited about an hour to be seated, when it was our turn we were offered to either sit inside or wait another 10 minutes to sit in the lounge. I said it didnt matter, but as soon as we sat down and I opened the menu I saw it said the bottomless brunch was only offered in the lounge. I dont understand why they never mentioned this when they asked us where we wanted to be seated, this was my first time here so I had no way of knowing. So after about 3 minutes of being seated, we told our server we wanted to do the bottomless brunch and asked if we could wait to be seated in the lounge so we could, then the host came over and argued with us stating the other table is not for us, but I was told they had another table in 10 minutes but then he said the other host lied and that we could not move tables, but said they will ask if we can still do the bottomless brunch. After 10 minutes of leaving us in the dark they finally decided we could still do the bottomless brunch from our table, they said to go ahead but when we walked inside the lounge we got yelled at again by the staff for not having wristbands.... if thats what we needed why werent we provided wristbands before getting told to go? Im so confused at this point I felt like I was the one working there and should have known better cause I keep getting yelled at for not knowing any of their rules. So we sat back down and waited again and finally our server came back with wristbands so we could go get our food. The food was our saving grace, it was actually really good. For a buffet, all the food tasted hot and fresh as well as great flavors and seasoning. Our server was not checking on us regularly to refill our drinks the entire time we were there. We were constantly running empty and constantly waving people down to get anything. The service was on my list as one of the worst Ive experienced. I guess next time Ill get a job there so I know all the rules without being told so I dont get yelled at again.
Our server Ronnie was amazing, we had a few issues with our food, but he made it right. One of our plates were taken to another table, and once we received it, the crab cake was overcooked and had to be sent back, but their service definitely made it right.. I gave it 4 stars only because the food was a little off. Maybe because it was busy. Will I go back? Of course! Would I suggest this black owned business to others? Definitely! The vibe is everything 🙌🏾
Loved the vibe. The DJ was popping on the 1&2’s!!! The gentlemen, the ladies, and the atmosphere were very inviting. I did not at all like a newbie. The atmosphere was very inviting. I will be back. Drinks took a while but the service & rapport were on point so I didnt mind. Food was fresh hot and delicious. Collard greens could have been cooked a lil longer 😅😅
We were charged 40 dollars to get in. Then was told we would have to pay 100 for a table if we wanted to eat. After speaking with a server we were told that the restaurant was actually next door and it was free entry. The guy we dealt with at the door in the lounge made me feel as though this establishment was shady as hell but once in the restaurant we started to feel better. Our hostess, server and food was AMAZING!! If it werent for that hiccup in the lounge this review would have gotten 5 stars.
Visited on a late afternoon and it was busy. This was the second time we went to the area. The first time. The line was so long. We didnt wait. This time. The line was long and we waited for about 40 minutes. The person outside that was taking your name and letting you know the time was extremely nice. The place is actually pretty small on the side in which you just get food. There is another side that I guess is considered the lounge side. They had a line as well but it was much shorter.Whats inside we noticed that they try to always keep the tables with four or more people open for four or more people. Most people that came seem to be couples that had to wait for a couples table to be cleared.Everyone that worked there seemed to be nice even though it was very busy. The atmosphere was nice. The food took a while to go to us. The food that we received was good and very tasty. My plating came a bit disheveled.Overall the food was good. The service was actually great and it was a little bit on the expensive side. I understand the cost based on the location that is placed in. The bathroom was fairly clean. The ovar cleanliness of the restaurant was okay.
I absolutely loved this place. It was our first time in the establishment and everyone was one very friendly. Marco is a blast. Had a chance to meet one of the owners. Very nice looking lol and very nice. The ambience was great. My food was great. I will return. Before 11 tho, Im that old head that dont like the crowds. My son loves the after 11 scene. He says the crowd isnt rowdy at all and thats why he goes there with the mature crowd. Love this place‼️
First time visiting from Orlando and Im glad we gave this spot a chance. Loved the fact that they had security. Ronnie was a great server to us, he was very nice and attentive. Everyone that worked there seemed like they actually wanted to be there which is something I rarely see. The food was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I loved the presentation. They played r&b and hip hop music which was a plus. We did have to wait in the line for a while but I didnt mind because it was worth it. If I couldve smoked here I wouldve been in pure bliss just because the food and the vibes were on point. The place is urban with a bit of class so I wont bring my thuggery to the establishment and honestly it would be unnecessary. Next time Im in Tampa, Im stopping by
Our Servers name was Jamaica! She had a sweet spirit. I wish she commmunicated to us more about what was happening, maybe they were short staffed. Our drinks we ordered were, Meg the stallion(2) Kiwi Palmer , BeyoncéAnd our Appetizers wereGet your MFn roll onCry me a riverAnd for dinner we ordered,Let’s stay together : the complaint I have I didn’t like how my food came out on top of everything and it made my macaroni even more wateryWe also had the Rude Boi, the Choosey Lover and choppastyle! If you’re ever in Ybor city, check them out!
The vibe of the restaurant was okay. The food was lackluster. Not seasoned enough, definitely looks much better than it tastes. Food took a long time to come out. The drinks were good though. The chicken was undercooked & pinkish. We had 6 people at our table and they made 3 of us wait a good 15 minutes longer for food to come to table. Everyone’s food should come out at the same time, please work on that!
This place was amazing! A few friends and I came for lunch, and everything looked amazing. I recommend the catfish nuggets as a starter(omg, they were so good). My only complaint, which is really not a complaint, was the only using 2 cards Im assuming to cut the cost of credit card fees. So if you have a huge party, pay attention to what you have ordered. Add the tax and 20% gratuity. It is also stated on the menu, so pay attention lolOther than that this was an amazing restaurant and totally recommend 👌
OX Tail & Grits - aka “ Other Side of the Game “ is a MUST … good vibes ! Brunch available. Plan accordingly- limited seating for food. Great service - good food / great drinks.Definitely highly recommend & coming back asap. Everything we ordered made perfectly and taste great. Might be a wait time but worth the wait. I came 11:15am on Sunday & had their “Brunch” menu. Collar Greens is a must. I’m save room for dessert next time.
Dear Jodi and 7th & Grove team, I just wanted to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful birthday celebration you helped organize for me. From the delicious food to the amazing ambiance, everything was absolutely perfect. Your attention to detail and exceptional service truly made my day special. Thank you for all the effort and care you put into making my birthday memorable. I am truly grateful for your kindness and hospitality.KindlyGidget, family and friends8/10/2024
Came here for a late lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and it was a chill vibe. The music had a hip hop/neo soul r&b vibe. No wait so I sat pretty much where I wanted. There are 2 sides to this place. The restaurant side and the lounge side. I chose to sit on the lounge side as both will offer food and drinks. If you like taking pics there are photo ops here with unique backgrounds to enjoy. Our server was Jessica or Jessie(forgive me for not knowing) and she was friendly and accommodating. Enough of that………The. Food. Was. Great!!!!!I got the Loaded Nolia Clap. Picture soulful gumbo with a catfish fillet on top! It was everything I expected and more! Seasoning was on point and the catfish was piping hot just the way I like it. It’s a little spicy but not to much. I’m not for the area but I will make a point to come back. Thanks guys
Definitely a vibe. The atmosphere is very nice. The staff was very friendly and professional. Our server (Ronnie) made sure we had everything we needed plus more. The food was delicious and fulfilling. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. Came all the way from Mobile, Al to visit and wish I could take the restaurant back with me. I’ll definitely be coming back sooner than later.
I’ve heard great things about this place and I finally became a witness myself. The food was phenomenal! I’m from the south, south and am particular about my catfish. Most restaurants pass of swai for catfish but here??? The real thing! The service was great! Rob was very sweet, attentive and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend and will certainly be back on the weekend.Flawless work! So happy to support black owned businesses in the area. You have a gem on your hands.
Shout out to our server Ronnie !He was fast , attentive & organized even with our large party of 13. I was staring at the menu for a good 10 minutes trying to decide what i wanted to eat , he came & gave me some recommendations to make the decision a little easier for my indecisive self lol. He really went above & beyond to make sure we had a good time .The food & drinks were SO good & packed with flavor , i ended up taking my leftovers back to VA with me !The manager stopped by our table to make sure everything was up to par which we appreciated.Decor & ambiance were definitely a vibe. We will for sure be back for brunch when we visit Tampa again . 10/10 !
Place was crowded. No actual menus to look at. Gave to scan your phone for menue. When we finally got a server, she did not make me aware that what I was ordering was a starter. We actually had no server per say. The first server came to us just as we were brining our menue up on pur phones, said he would be back. We had questions about the menue, but no one was availiable to help us. About 20 minutes or so the server came to us and said someone else was going to help us. That server was pleasant. We asked about what we were ordering. I ordered the Cuban rolls. She told me it was just like a Cuban sandwich, but in a roll form and there were 4. They were good, but each one was small. I would had liked to have gotten more of a meal. After we ordered it was at least 30 minutes till food arrived. No one asked what we wanted to drink. I had finally been able to flag someone down to ask for a lemonade. Food came, no lemonade, we ate and still no lemonade. All we had was the glass of water given to us when we sat down. Took at least another 10 minutes to get our check. Oh, and the music was a little too loud.
I traveled out of town for a conference and went to this phenomenal restaurant for dinner. The customer service was superior as soon as we entered the establishment! The food was delicious and the portion size was enough to eat for days. The ambience was inviting and relaxed. I thoroughly enjoyed my first time here and will be back the next time I come to Tampa. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!
This is our second time eating here and they have not missed yet. All the drinks, appetizers, and entrees me & my fiance have tried have been amazing. Service is always quick and friendly. Special shout out to Ronnie who was our waiter today. He made my fiance a special birthday shot that was so good. We will definitely keep coming back.
My husband and I stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday night and were shown the best time by the staff. Our waitress was Natalie who was very knowledgeable about the menu. We were hosted and showed around by America, she was AMAZING and very friendly the best bartender EVER and Malcolm recommended us other places to visit while in Tampa. If you are in Tampa please support this business you will not be disappointed by the food, service and atmosphere. It was a whole vibe.
Jamila was my server. It was my very first time coming and her service was really A1! The food was amazing and the staff itself is amazing. I WILL BE BACK. Make sure y’all ask for Jamila and check out the great food and services they have to offer! Great job guys this is officially one of my new favorite spots.
Can I call this a religious experience?!?! Every single thing from the drinks, to the decor, to the service to the food was AMAZING. Zoey was our server and she was so sweet and attentive and offered us some great suggestions including the banana pudding which nearly brought tears to my eyes. Jarvis the manager came by to chat and wound up telling us about their new speakeasy Madame Fortune’s and walked us over to take a look. Talk about service! I can’t wait to take everyone I know!
EVERYTHING WAS AWSOME ! Highly recommended The service from coco despite the busy atmosphere she made sure to check in and make sure everything was A1 I appreciate that so much !!!!!! My vegan gumbo was so good I wish it lasted forever. ! Chef “O” understood the assignment !!!! And don’t forget to stop by the bar I was so indecisive About what to drink I’m a fruity girl and Jessica from the bar didn’t steer me wrong I can’t remember the of the drink but you can definitely put your trust in her to get the best cocktail EVERRRRR 🩷🩷🩷🩷
Amazing food and such a fun vibe!I enjoyed connecting with friends here for brunch. It’s a lively atmosphere, filled with music and a creative menu of delicious items to choose from. It’s a quaint restaurant with an attached lounge side. I recommend making a reservation for faster seating, especially if you have a large party size.I love that the environment is so welcoming and that the food is absolutely delicious! Oh and the drinks - just everything!Again, it’s a must try!
Excellence… that’s 7th and Grove! Everything about our time was exceptional. Zoe gave perfect food and beverage recommendations and provided amazing service. Ozet served up love on our plates. What a perfect balance of deliciousness. We will definitely return!
My party of 3 truly enjoyed our dining experience for lunch today with Bria! Her recommendations were on point and the service was even better. She made sure our food was cooked to our liking and drinks were just as amazing! I highly recommend dining here. The fried chicken and French toasts were amazing!
Food, service and atmosphere a solid 10!!! We went as an end of the year celebration and they did not disappoint!!! The food from 7th and groove was top notch, delicious and plentiful. The seats were comfortable and spacious. The band was the center attraction. They were fantastic (great singers )we danced for hours! I am certainly going back to see them. Jarvis was extremely professional and accommodating. We will be back!
LOVE the VIBE! Authentic creative southern Boho charm and class, with eclectic scrumptious creative food that feeds the soul and warms the heart. Can’t say enough but wish this place was in my backyard. The experience would not have been the same without the amazing hospitality of the staff! But my server. Kamari was amazing! Professional, classy, approached with an infectious beautiful radiant smile, that was made our experience flawless!Forgot- Hookah lounger and DJ in joining room.😊🌹
We enjoyed Dayla and the service. The drinks were on point and dont get me started on the food! The fried chicken, Mac n cheese and collards were a tribute to the ancestors! I would love to visit again when Im in the area to take advantage of brunch and more desserts 🎂🎉 Kudos to this black-owned business that was recommended by the men of Kappa Alpha Psi at their Konclave ♦️😊
We came here on a Sunday late morning for brunch and as soon as we walked in the vibe hit us. Nice music and art, a very cultural experience. The food was amazing! We had oxtails and grits, shrimp and grits, catfish nuggets and pork rolls for appetizers. The service was excellent. No complaints whatsoever. Definitely a must try!
My husband and I recently dined at 7th and Grove and I must say, it was quite disappointing. While the food itself was tasty, the overall experience fell short of the hype. The service was particularly disappointing. They brought out our meals one at a time, which meant we couldnt enjoy our meals together as a group. Additionally, we were surprised to find out that there were no refills on drinks. We were only served a small glass of what we asked for, and then had to settle for water. The seating arrangement was also quite awkward. It felt like we were seated in the middle of a night club, and the loud music made it difficult to have a conversation. To make matters worse, our table was dirty when we were seated and we had to request for it to be cleaned. The top of the table was even peeling, which was quite off-putting.The wait time for our food was also unacceptable. It took over 30 minutes for our meals to be served. Considering the uncomfortable environment and the lack of proper to-go containers, I found the food to be overpriced. While the taste was enjoyable, the overall experience was not worth the hefty price tag.I hope they can improve on these aspects in the future to provide a more enjoyable dining experience for their customers.
I came into 7th and Grove today with my girls. The food was great, the service was 10/10, and the atmosphere was so cute. They treated us so good. If you’re in the Tampa area, definitely stop by.Yaya was the best server I had in a long time, definitely ask for her. She was amazing 🫶🏾✨✨✨
My brother in-law threw a surprise birthday dinner for my sister last night. We had a party of about 20 people. We We told to arrive around 5:15pm which we did. We all had to wait in the lounge while things were prepped which is fine but the music in the lounge area was a bit too loud to even conversate with anyone. We were seated at 5:45pm as my sister arrived . Restaurant was too warm . Big industrial fan blowing trying to keep us cool. The server for our table came really late due to some miscommunication . I initially ordered the SO Fresh So Clean southern chicken Cobb salad but was told they were out of salads. Huhh?? So had to change to lemon pepper wings and fries. The food was ok. Basic wings at best. The night really took a turn for the worst when they screwed up my fathers order. My father and his friend ordered the same dish at the same time. The server only took the friends order. Then , when the order was corrected, it took about another hour to even receive the food. By Then , my dad was ready to leave. We spoke with management and my dad was comped but damage was done . FIRSt time at 7th and Grove may be my last.
As the CEO of So Classic Gents XL I must say that my organization and I enjoyed Brunch on this past Sunday!! The service was awesome and the love shown meant the world to us!! Special thanks to Mr. Glenn and also the brunch manager for the awesome hospitality on top of the mad love shown to us!! It meant so much and the vibe was everything!!!
7th and Grove is a great dining option in the Ybor area. The food was good and so was the service. The catfish in particular was outstanding! Our server was Tiana and she was attentive and a pleasure. One thing that was hard for us to find out initially was if the venue is kid friendly. On one side (the a la carte side, not buffet side) kids are allowed so hopefully this information will be helpful to others. Overall I had a great experience and would come back and try other items.
This was not my first visit. It was my first date night here with my fiancé.We came early, tried to make it to happy hour but we missed it. We did not have a reservation but we were seated immediately. We started with drinks but passed on a starter. We had the Mariah Moscow Mule which he really enjoyed. I got the Ol’ Smokey Robinson which was supposed to be table side smoked but was not, however the drink was good.I tried the the What’s Your Fantasy which was very good, the Brussel sprouts could have been seasoned a bit more but overall it was good. My fiancé had the Let’s Stay Together. He enjoy it but said the chicken was not seasoned very well.We finished with the Rock Steady, which is the pecan banana pudding with golden Oreos with caramel drizzle. We ordered it at the end of our but it took a while for it to come out. I assumed our server forgot about it. When it did come it was not complete either. I asked the server about the caramel and Oreos, she was not sure and asked another person about it. She had them to make us another one to go.We both enjoyed the food, drinks, and the vibe but was disappointed in some of the service we received especially for $100 evening.I would return and I do recommend them, I just hope next time will be better.
My friend decided to bring me in to try this place out…. Been hearing about it for years. We were in there for almost an hour. Server comes over and gives a digital menu code and said the late night menu was available. Cool. I found something I wanted. 3 other parties, large ones came in and were served food BEFORE us. Finally we were able to get the server back so we can put in our orders and were told that the late night menu was no longer available and that our choices were chicken tenders, fried shrimp, and catfish was available, despite the fact we’d been waiting for her to even look our way! We cancelled the hookah and drinks because why would I want alcohol on an empty stomach?? As we left, security asked why we were going and once I told him, he was like that’s DUMB because we got in before that menu was supposed to close. I thought maybe I’d give them one more shot, but I got word from another patron of how shady they can be towards people who don’t fit their ideal image. Casual clothing isn’t welcome? Then they should’ve turned us away at the door!
This place is AWESOME! I took my Mom and three of her friends here for brunch. It’s a nice lively spot. Our server, Ronnie was such a darling. He was laughing with my Mom and friends and gave great advice on the drinks menu. The food was great and very well seasoned. Anything with the grits is a must have, while it tasted fresh, I felt like the food could’ve come to the table hotter. It wasn’t cold, but definitely not piping hot. Definitely will be back again.
Just had an amazing brunch. Dont delay run! to 7th and grove. Your taste buds will explode with joy. Our server Jessica J is the best. She took great care of us. Awesome atmosphere with great music.
We had an awesome time at lunch! Ronnie was the perfect host/server! He made sure we were taken care of and the everything was fresh! The food was delicious and the music was a vibe!
My best-friend and I tried to get there early since we didn’t make reservations and heard it was a very popular spot! Luckily, we got there at a good time and got seated right away! My best-friend pointed out on their website it states no reservation brunch but in the reviews they really are pushing it and kind of makes you feel bad for not having one upon arrival, which is a little confusing. Our waiter was AMAZING and had us laughing the entire time! The food was amazing especially the devil eggs they were top tier. The vibes of the place was nice and music was not overly loud…you can tell it’s a popular spot because not even 30 minutes of us leaving out there was a long line outside of the door!! So if you go early or make reservations! Would definitely be back!
First time customer as I was visiting for the Thanksgiving holiday. We ordered a $13 crab cake and 1 catfish fillet which was over $30 with delivery. The food was great and we wanted more so we placed a 2nd order for 2 crab cakes and catfish nuggets. The food is definitely overpriced but that wasn’t the main issue. While eating the first catfish nugget I pulled a long hair out of my mouth. I grabbed my phone and turned on the flashlight and saw at least 3 additional pieces of long hair in the food. I was speechless! 4 hairs in one container of food! I called and spoke with a manager who didn’t seem surprised but she did offer to remake the order. Knowing my experience and seeing other reviews regarding hair in food is very concerning and unsanitary. Would not recommend.
7th Grove in Tampas Ybor area truly lives up to the hype! After hearing rave reviews from friends and locals, I decided to check it out, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant has great vibes, and while I sat in the dining room, I made sure to walk through the bar side, which looked like a really cool spot to hang out—I’ll definitely have to return just to experience that. For my meal, I ordered the catfish, accompanied by mac and cheese, gouda grits, and greens. Every single dish was absolutely delicious. The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, the gouda grits were rich and flavorful, and the greens added the perfect balance to the meal. The catfish was perfectly cooked and seasoned, making for an incredibly satisfying dinner. If youre in the area, 7th Grove is definitely a must-visit, whether youre there for the food or just to soak in the vibrant atmosphere!
7th+Grove is hands-down one of the best restaurants in Ybor! We came here for my friend’s Bachelorette brunch, and we were blown away by how incredible the food, service, and overall vibe was! When you come you have to get the egg roll appetizer “Get Your MF Roll On”; best appetizer I’ve ever had. Mac and cheese was great! The service was awesome! Jamila kept our drinks refilled and even brought us free shots for our celebration! The music was on point, decor was gorgeous! Such a fun brunch and lunch spot!!
Made reservations for a party of 5 as we were celebrating a special occasion. The menu is definitely inviting for both drinks and food. Our service was good. We definitely loved the appetizers, but the food was so delicious. The drinks on the other hand extraordinary! Our only issue was when we decided to go to the lounge. The music and vibe seemed very cool, however we were asked $20 per person if we wanted to stay, Despite advising that we had just came from the restaurant where our tab was over $240.00. We were then asked for $10 per person. We all voted to just leave. While the food, drinks and atmosphere were great, prices are a little high and the fact that they wanted an additional $50-$100 to enjoy the lounge, I definitely wont go out of my way to visit when in Tampa again.
🗣️Bartender Jess DID HER BIG ONE❗️ Definitely recommend her when you go. She’s nice, cool, and make you sure that you have a great time. Drinks 10/10 for sure! She definitely made my trip to 7th & Grove worth it.
This is my second time coming back to 7th & Grove. I was not disappointed. The food, service, and vibes were on point. We got the deviled eggs with fried chicken. They were so good, we ordered another one. I’m not even a person who likes deviled eggs. My favorite dish is by far the oxtail & grits. It’s a little pricey but SO worth it. You get a lot of food in the entree and the flavors are complex and bold. Service was great! Ronny, our server, answered all our questions and made sure our experience was pleasant. We have some specific food restrictions and he made sure we were taken care of. Thanks Ronny! The manager, Jarvis, walked around and made sure we were liking everything also. Which I appreciated too. The music selection was fire and cultivated the perfect vibe. I love this place! Easily one of my fav restaurants in Tampa!
Oh my word is what comes to mind when describing the food from 7+Grove. It has been a long time since I have tasted food that has knocked me off my feet. I ate the Cuban rolls from their food truck with a side of fries. Their homemade sauces is the icing and candles on the cake. I’m here for a visit, however, if I lived here 7+Grove would be one of my top places to eat very often.
The spot. The security staff was professional and funny. The atmosphere was very nice. The DJ was absolutely amazing 💯. YaYa was our server and she was friendly and very helpful. The food was southern home cooking and the chef was smooth. Everyone approached us with a very warm attitude and personality including one of the managers named Jarvis. The only things that I would work on is the restrooms and expansion because you are definitely doing it right. We didnt want to leave.
Service was ok. I feel like they were a little understaffed. But once we got our server (RONNIE*), solid experience. Food was solid. Music was great. Atmosphere was solid. Would def try again. Drinks couldve been better. Ronnie was the man!!!
We arrived during happy hour it was Taco Tuesday. The ambiance was good . It took awhile for our drinks , awhile to place our order. We had the mango margarita and a 3 Taco combo with Cajun rice and black beans . We were only able to order from a special menu. This was our first time there. The Tacos were cold not even warm . The lemon pepper chicken wings were a bit under cook and had a sweet taste to it . With the steak tacos it was all steak fat .. 😒 really? You cut that up and served it ?I can not make this up .. it’s all in the photo. With all the other reviews, I’m guessing this was not one of their good days . I will not be returning
Loved everything about it! The music, decor, staff, food and vibes was everything. We went on a Friday afternoon. Service was prompt, food was hot and delicious and the drinks were great. I would come back to Tampa just to eat and chill here. After eating we walked around the Ybor strip and enjoyed a little history while walking with the Roosters lol, ifkyk. Amazing job to the owners and staff.
I felt compelled to write a review after watching Darius Cooks review on YouTube. The reason we never went back to 7th and Grove is because we traveled a long way to have Sunday brunch after making reservations. We stood waiting for the maître d’ who never came to greet us and after waiting 15 -20 minutes the gentleman said they just closed for brunch. We explained that we traveled from Riverview and had reservations. They said sorry we are closed and turned us away. We ask for a manager and he kept apologizing there is nothing that can be done . We were appalled they never honored our reservations and thus we vowed to never to return. The lack of acknowledgement, accommodation and courtesy was enough to deter from a return visit.Thank you for your response, but it seems like you completely missed the point. Your tone is just as dismissive as your maître d’s, and its clear Darius’ customer service advice didn’t resonate with you. To clarify, we arrived for brunch at noon, and the issue wasn’t about making a reservation but how we were treated when we arrived. Additionally, if your brunch is first come, first served, how were we supposed to know that when we booked online? It should have been clear with online reservations.Good customer service means being attentive, clear, and respectful to your guests—none of which we experienced. Clearly , bunch is not your thing neither is customer service. Read the reviews on Google. You’re not looking too good. Honestly, your response didn’t improve the situation. Best of luck to 7th and Grove—you would have been better off not responding.
Waitress was so busy shaking her azz and TRYING to be cute we didnt get drinks for 45 minutes despite not be crowded!!! It nearly ignored everyone at the bar!!! She also TRIED us giving us a $53 bill that wasnt ours ! The other side where the food was was ghetto hot as fish grease!!!come on yall serve food in there???Our 1ST & LAST, OUT OF TOWNERS TO THIS FL DUMP!
This is a black-owned business!! The atmosphere was amazing and the food was top notch. There is plenty of seating— they have a bar area as well as fancier seating on the inside with a private nook upstairs as well. The servers were extremely friendly and I received my order quickly. The food was hot, SEASONED, and absolutely delicious. I will most definitely come back to 7th and Grove in the future!
Sooo 7th & Grove has a great vibe and I love supporting a black-owned business. The decor features beautiful black art and greenery, which creates a nice ambiance. Ive been here three times and the music is always on point. The front area is the main dining area, while the back is a bar/lounge. The staff is helpful and lively. Although there were minor food mishaps, I still enjoyed my meals and will definitely return. Its best to reserve a spot, as there can be a wait, but the staff does their best to keep the line moving. What was ordered: Wings, Collard Greens, Mac & Cheese, Flip The Switch, Gouda GritsWings = Cooked as requested, but missed the extra sauceCollard Greens = Added some hot sauce and vinegar, just how I like it!Mac & Cheese = YummyFlip The Switch (2 Flap Jacks + Bacon + Scrambled Eggs) = The jacks were fluffy and good, but the scrambled eggs were not tasty at all.Gouda Grits = No leftovers
I’m saddened that I have to leave this review but on Saturday June 29th I attended an event with my friend at this establishment . We were enjoying ourselves until Two weirdos (waitresses ) were taking pictures of my friend and I . Her name is SIERRA WASHINGTON and another waitress who is Caucasian and short. This was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. As an Educated Openly Gay black male I feel that this was an act of hate ! And this should not be acceptable in a place of business. Being that my friend is in a witness protection program. We could have sued this place of business! The drinks are wonderful and they had buffet style food that day . But just be AWARE OF THE WEIRDO SIERRA WASHINGTON !!! Who likes to take pictures of people and laugh .
7th & Grove is an amazing restaurant. Its filled with culture and great tasting food. We had the shrimp and grit with scrambled eggs. We also had the chicken tenders and waffles. The mimosas were also also fresh and delicious. I would recommend and have been back for the seafood event recently.Update! Ive been so many times. I ❤️ them. The food, drinks, and vibes are always giving luxury and class. Even 2 years later. Hope they are here to stay.
Shout Out To YaYa!! Best Service I’ve Received Since I’ve Been Here!! Made The Atmosphere Something To Come Back To!! The Food Was Amazing As Well. Music Was Lovely. Good Vibes All Around. Will Be Returning!! 🩷
Ronnie was an excellent server. His attention to detail was on point. Very accommodating. We had party of 9 sat 5/11 for Mother’s Day brunch. First time in restaurant. Everything was delicious. We will be back!!! Thank you Ronnie for making our first time special.
We LOVE RONNY! All around great service, he took care of us on our birthday trip to Tampa. The food, the drinks, and the atmosphere were top tier! Shout to Ben and our server YaYa she looked out the whole time on our visit!
The staff were extremely accommodating to our large party of 30! The food was excellent, with an large variety of soul food choices. The portion size of each meal was totally appropriate for the price. The music was loud but enjoyable, better acoustic baffling would help. JoJo, the security guard on duty during my visit, was VERY personable and kind to my elderly mother. The entire wait staff was professional, and attentive, anticipating our every need.
My partner and I had date night at 7th + Grove recently. We got there early and Malcolm greeted us in the lounge with his warm, enthusiastic energy and led us to the bar. We ended up splitting the Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, and later ordered the Nicki Minaj (pictured)—all were amazing! We were then seated for our reservation where Bar-bae herself was our waitress, she was fantastic! The food never misses here; I can recommend the Let’s Stay Together (pictured) and my partner got the Dive In. Everything from the atmosphere, food/drinks, and friendly people made it a great date night, thank you.
I cant give a detailed review because after waiting to be seated 3 customers left. The place looked very inviting and esthetically beautiful, but they may need more staff to accommodate guest.I did get a chance to look at the menu. The average cocktail is around $17, which is on the higher side and the menu seeemd yummy. For context it was 12:30pm on a Friday.A local who also walked out because he was on his lunch break with little time, directed us to an old staple in the neighborhood and as I write this, my order has been taken and my $10 premium cocktail has been delivered; within the same amount of time we waited to be seated. Oh.. Food just arrived. You can always find something good in Ybor City!Maybe upon our next visit we will give it another shot.
I’ve got to say I’ve never been more impressed between the fried to perfection shrimp and catfish nuggets prepared by chef o and the attentive service from KO and my perfectly mixed drink that turned my day around made by the bartender Jessica These girls really did there thing and totally deserve a raise. ! I will be back thanks to these 3 individuals
Great experience!! Food was so delicious 😋!! I ordered the oxtail and it was so tender. It was different then regular oxtail but so good. The Mac and cheese was soo gooey and great. The coffee with vodka was perfect. My friend had peaches and cream pancakes 🥞 they were perfect. Our server was so friendly offering great suggestions and constantly checking on us.. if you go in ask for Tanaia. If your looking for live music, good food, and a great vibe you found the spot
Yaya was awesome from the service, attentiveness, friendliness, honesty she did that and was cute she took care of a table of 7 with no issues. The ambience in this place was 10/10 the food was good and the vibes and energy was there plus they got a photographer and someone asked us about hookah try them out and ask for yaya!
I Can’t Believe This Is a True Story: I don’t ever write reviews, let alone bad ones for small businesses, but I visited this restaurant with an 8-person group, and we were NEVER served. We had a 7:30 PM reservation and were not sat until 8:15. We then put in our drink, appetizer, and entree order immediately when we sat down. We were served our drinks, but then our appetizers came at 9:30, a whole hour later. Our waitress kept telling us that the food was on its way but that the kitchen was backedup. At 10:00 PM, 2.5 HOURS later, we asked the Manager where our entrees were, and he said that he cancelled our order. This has never happened to me and does not make any sense. Why would you cancel our order but let us continue to hang at the restaurant and not even tell our waitress? We got up and left. It’s sad because it was our friends bachelor party, and we were looking forward to eating there.
The night I was there, the service was below average. I had a reservation and stopped in early to validate the reservation. Reservation nit honored as staff was unaware private party was scheduled. Staff seated my party of 3, but it took 30 min. for drink order to be filled, and an hour plus for meals to be delivered. The server was extremely apologistic, but operations of this facility needs to improve.
We had our end of year school party here and when I tell you we all had a blast from the time you enter the building you feel so welcome and to top it off the food was finger licking good from the Mac & cheese, greens, rice and those chicken finger tasted so good and the kiwi Palmer drink. The band playing was sure rocking the stage and the people on the floor. Thank you Mr Jarvis and staff and our wonderful server. Best place in Ybor 10/10
Im visiting from Fort Lauderdale, so when I walked in the atmosphere was Everything!!! I loved the lighting and decorations and the colors really made it it a vibe.Drinks are too expensive $28 for a margarita in a little cup, like the ones they give you at the liquor store LOL (INSANE). Not to mention it was house Tequila. Then you charge for Margarita mix.So I love the fact that there is a restaurant on the other side however we go to put our name on the list (which it was just my name). And the waitress real cool was like they dont show up yall will be next. Literally the other chic is holding seats for who she wants saying they have reservations (but they not here) HILARIOUS then you can only get the food they serve if youre sitting on that side. If youre on the club side youre offered chicken wings or fish with fries. I ask for my wings to be well done they definitely were soft. I tried the watermelon BBQ just chicken with sauce not too much flavor but it came out fast. They have seating out on the sidewalk which is reserved as well, even though they were empty. So no Review for their actual menu. Ill visit again and try it again I guess.
1st timmer and will be returning! They have this elegant twist on Southern food and its amazing. The decore and beautiful painting on the wall makes this space so inviting. The table and chairs make this space feel sheek. They paid all the attention to detail. The food is fresh and delicious. We so enjoyed the Fool For You (cuban eggrolls). Their take on this dish was on point. We had a few sandwiches which were equally amazing and their parm fries is something I would write home about. Not kidding, u need to visit these folks and enjoy them cooking for u. Our server was attentive and super sweet. I hate that I cannot remember his name at this moment. U will be spending a bit more here but its worth it!
Been going here for 2yrs. The food use to be great! The portions were bigger and the vibe was on point. I’m not sure if it’s because of inflation or whatever, but it’s not the same. The portions are smaller, my friend and I split a check and they charged us a 20% per person for gratuity. The audacity, especially when the service sucks. They’ve been running out of certain appetizers and the drinks are watered down. They don’t take reservations either.I use to be excited to get dressed up and head over here with my girls, we refuse now. Don’t waste your money and don’t believe the hype.
I visited this restaurant with friends for a birthday brunch. The restaurant has two sides, buffet or menu ordering. We sat on the menu ordering side. The decor is bright and eye-catching. The ambiance sets a cool vibe and I really enjoyed the feel of the place. There was music playing on our side of the restaurant, the buffet side has a DJ and is more of a brunch party vibe, our menu order side was somewhat laid back. Our waitress was attentive and promptly brought drinks, appetizers and food. We had several different appetizers and entrees at our table and the over-all feedback was good. The chicken and waffles was a hit for everyone. I was full after a drink and appetizers so I ordered sides for my meal. I was not blown away by the macaroni and cheese, gouda cheese grits nor collards. Although everything seemed hot and fresh, there was this odd flavor/seasoning in each dish that made them kinda all taste the same. I sampled the chicken and waffles and would definitely order that next time. We enjoyed our visit.
Our food was delicious and our server was very good and attentive. I loved that this is a Black owned business. I wouldve given 5 stars, but the alcoholic drinks were a little weak. The atmosphere and music was very nice on the lounge side, but unfortunately we didnt get a chance to enjoy it because everyone was asked to leave at 9:45 due to a private event getting ready to start.
7th and Grove is amazing. My partner and I have been there a few times and we loved it so much we had them cater our wedding. Everyone complimented the food and our guests were going back for seconds. I cannot say enough good things about them! The only complaint is we didn’t have any ox tail left over after the wedding 😂. Seriously, it’s that good!
3 stars only because of the 20% service fee added to your bill. Which is cool if they give you a ticket. They come around with a machine, confirm what you ordered then give you your total. Then you pay woth your card. I left a damn $$43 tip because I forgot the service was already included and I didnt actually see a receipt.Other than that, the food is wonderful. The ambiance is nice. The service is GREAT. Ronny was our server and he attended excellently to us despite it being so busy. I was very impressed with his service so I tipped him at 24%. But in actuality I gave him 44%.When you go make sure you remember that 20%.
Decided to checkout this place with family and cannot express how amazing the experience was! When we arrived we realized the restaurant was closed for an hour before dinner time. My family and I decided to wait at the outside seating area while catching up with each other. One of the managers Jarvis came out side and realized I was holding my one month old baby than asked if we were waiting for dinner. We answered yes and he immediately told us to come inside that it was way too hot outside for the baby. He seated us at the couch and gave my entire family fresh water. The restaurant was completely closed with no additional guest but us. I cannot express how thoughtful and considerate this man was! We watched the staff prepare for Dinner and we were in complete shock! Everything was so organized and clean! Jarvis continued to come back and check in on us as we waited. We did not have reservations but we were seated immediately. We got our food very fast and it was delicious! The music was a bonus! I believe Jarvis was working on the 21+ side but still came over after we got our bill and asked how everything was. Everything was on point but Jarvis’ customer service will have us coming back in more frequently! The hospitality is rare these days but you can tell this business hires genuine people. We are already planning to back with more family and friends!
First time. The place is unique. The menu is totally different and I like it. The burger was amazing. The pasta dish tasted good too as did the cat fish bites. The staff was amazing. The place was loud because of the private party next door but the music was good so I didnt mind. I took off 2 stars because the food was lukewarm and the chicken in the pasta dish had pink in it. Despite those 2 things, I still recommend this place to others who are looking for something different.
Jess J was amazing ! She was literally the perfect waitress. I was a little bit disappointed in the bar service, they were too slow and it was not busy … but as far as a waitress when she was a completely amazing. Love the food love the atmosphere I’ll definitely be back
Stopped in for a dinner at the last minute and was seated very fast. The food was ok the drinks were even better and the service was top notch. Ronnie was out server and while taking care of multiple tables around the room we were still about to keep his full attention. Overall not a bad place I would recommend you to try it out.
I went to their Melodies from Heaven Gospel Brunch. I had a wonderful time! The entry price was $15(you save if you get tickets from Eventbrite) and you can either pay the $49 for the bottomless brunch that includes bottomless mimosas or you can just order from the menu a la cart. The vibe was perfect and the staff were very friendly. Whoever is cooking in the kitchen, I need you! The food was delicious, no compliants with that. The mac n cheese was my favorite. The music was everything and I cannot wait for them to have it agan because I am inviting my friends/family to come with me. The only complaint I have is that the lounge tables are a little low, my back was hurting towards the end.
Now usually I don’t go out of my way to write a review, however I really didn’t enjoy my experience. So let’s get to the details.Food: I had the “Everyone’s People” which is the shrimp and grits. The flavor as da BOMB! Wish there was a more shrimp and sausage on the plate but still very good.Service: Not only did we have to wait outside for 40 mins in order to be served, but the hostess “forgot about us”. That threw me and my friends off. In addition we didn’t get any fresh water after asking for water while we waited outside. We didn’t have a server until, Ronnie came and served us. He really was the reason we even had a decent time, bc he got us some shots for our inconvenience. Man needs a raise fr!Atmosphere: The place is cute! Has a nice decor but is a little small since he we were in the restaurant portion of the establishment. Definitely recommend anyway going make a reservation for your party.
We went for dinner on a Saturday night because of the ambiance and the menu. From the moment we walked in, the staff was amazingly accommodating, friendly, and professional. Now comes the best part, the FOOD: out of this world. Southern flair and you can tell that the cooks pour their heart and soul into it. They are the best at what they do. Without a doubt.
Absolutely loved dining here!! There was a little mixup with the formal name of the restaurant, but we found it. From the delectable dishes to the charming atmosphere, everything was good. The house salad dressing that it came with was very “tart.” However, the salmon & candied yams were good. My hubs & son had wings that they said were good. I’d definitely visit again!
Ambience and decor was nice. The service was good as well. I had fried green tomatoes as a starter. The batter on them had really good flavor but overall they were just ok. I had the pasta with salmon for an entree. It could use some seasoning but after adding some salt it did the job. I didnt have an alcoholic beverage. I was with a party of 4.. gratuity is automatically added to all parties. I didnt feel that this meal was worth $75. My dinner portion was kinda small and I was hungry again that night. If you want great food meh.. but if you want to catch a nice vibe check them out.
Food, atmosphere, and service were top notch! Great Sunday brunch vibes! Music was on point. If you’re looking for a fabulous Black-owned spot, this is the spot for you!! Go see America at the bar! She took good care of us and is a whole vibe!! 😬😬
My friends and I went today for brunch and it was wonderful!!! Our server Ronnie was on POINT!! His service was superb!! He made sure our food was there when he said it was. Always communicated and checked in on us. The atmosphere and ambiance was a whole VIBE!!! Music banging!!! Food delicious!!! Drinks were ON POINT!! Ronnie kept them coming even the shots. Thank you for a great experience Ronnie!! If you have never been to 7th & Grove its a MUST GO!!
Here for a Bachelorette weekend!Yaya made our experience worth it. Honest recommendations as she has tried the menu, great hostess, timely and attentive. She has a passion for good service and it shows. All the food is great and healthy portions great place for brunch!!
Cool spot in YBOR! Zoe was our server and she did a great job.The atmosphere was electric with a wide range of patrons from 20 somethings up to AARP card holders.Live DJ added to the vibe, although a bit too loud for table conversations. We had the Lets Stay Together platter which consist of chicken thighs, collard greens and macaroni and cheese. Also had the Dive In which was fried catfish, linguini, and shrimp.I had a Drink &Drake cocktail to wash it down.I love this black-owned restaurant/speak easy/ deli shop all in one!Its an #UnStopABLE experience
My first thoughts of 7th & grove when walking in the atmosphere was a vibe the staff was very welcoming the music was good to listen to and the food is great. From the brunch i experienced to night life, America is my main bartender when i go to 7th she knows what i like to drink from the moment i walk in overall a great place to have a good time for a long time.!!
Came for brunch this past Sunday at about 1130 and there was quite the line, waited about 40 minutes before we were seated. When we walked in the music was EXTRA LOUD, as there was a DJ spinning. After screaming my order to the server there was another long wait to receive the food (42 mins), ordered bottled water and had to ask server twice to bring it, had to go get straws for the drinks after asking 3 times for those. Food was pretty good the Gouda Grits we delish! Also ordered the chicken and french toast which was very disappointing because the chicken was a thigh (not a breast, dont like dark meat) and it did not mention on the menu, had the peach bourbon and watermelon wings and could not tell the difference in taste but good flavor. The decor is very nice and overall the experience wasnt bad except for the very loud music even though the DJ was playing great songs I think if they turn it down so we can hear the server and ourselves instead of it seeming like being at the club, I would have enjoyed it a lot more. There were other menu items I would like to try but I think Ill be getting them as takeout.
It was my first time visiting seventh and Grove For an event called third Thursdays. The atmosphere was well designed clean and relaxing. The food was very delicious. I especially enjoyed the fried chicken and the jalapeño cornbread poppers.
Went on a Friday fir happy hour. Beatdown band was there and they were amazing.Food was great, egg rolls were phenomenal (a meal in itself), chicken wings were great and drinks on point!
Great spot. This was an impromptu visit so we werent there long but plan to go next weekend. Food is delicious, definitely recommend the shrimp and gouda grits. This is a club version of brunch. They have an upscale lounge side which serves cocktails too. The only complaint I have is the music was so loud I have a sore throat from screaming at the people at my table and yelling my food order. If the waiter cant hear what were trying to order, youve gone too high! I love loud music, but this was one or two clicks too high.
Hostess and Service staff Pleasent, Welcoming and knowledgeable about menu. Delicious Loaded (meats) Jambalaya and Fried Catfish and Cheese Grits. Nicely portioned for price. Music and Atmosphere comfortable and Relaxing. Thank You!
If my table wasnt waiting 1hr for food this place would be 5 stars. The food was incredible, amazing, delicious, and most of all filling. The server Ronnie communicated well and always made sure our table was as comfortable as we could be during the wait. We did appreciate his service. Anyway the food is top notch, keep representing Ybor City 7th& Grove, your restaurant is spectacular.
Great atmosphere with tons of space. The customer service was also good. If youre looking for a place to chill, vibe, grab a bite to eat, or hookah. This establishment is also black owned, which is a major plus.
They have to do better with service, also didnt have a lot of items on menu. Overpriced for quality and quantity of food. We were there at noon got food an hour later. I went there when they first opened, wasnt impressed with the taste of the food back then. But I can say the food was better this time.
The service received a 5 only because of Ronney. Ronney noticed that we had been sitting and no one acknowledged us. He came over and asked if anyone had taken our drink order. Ronnie Ronnie take our drink order and gave us the name of our waitress whom never came. Ronnie came back to apologize that our waitress was not available. He took our order. At first I wanted to leave but because of him I stayed. While waiting for our food I saw that the rest of the crew wanted to take group pictures. They waved for Ronnie to come join them. He ran took 1 quick shoot and left while the others took more pictures. Ronnie is so professional which was well appreciated and noticed by us. I didnt feel like the birthday girl worker should have had on her birthday crown and slash at work. The customer comes in to enjoy themselves and not to share your birthday and feel obligation to give an extra tip because its your birthday.
Visited from out of state ! Found this place on TikTok! The vibes and esthetics are amazing ! Def a10/10. The drinks were tops notch ! I ordered the “Sunny Daze”dish(presentation not great ) but let’s just say I cleaned the plate ! DJ kept the vibes going(hip hop/r&b mix) ! Our specific waiter wasn’t very attentive but they were also quite busy. I would recommend a reservation! Overall I would definitely go back !
Went to brunch at 7th. I was highly impressed. I went a few times when they first open even had them cater my birthday, when they first opened. But then Food and Drinks kind of went downhill tbh. HOWEVER, TODAY let me tell you the Food was really AMAZING 10/10 highley recommended, Service was top tier from the hostess to the waitress (thanks Jamecia) and the vibe was a vibe! Ill definitely be back and spread the word!
My office recently hosted part of a company event at 7th & Grove and were blown away by the food/drinks, ambiance, and attentive service. We have visited this location in the past for more casual occasions and have always been impressed by their overall hospitality, but this particular event has by far been our best experience. Jamaris was especially communicative and helpful in ensuring that our event was executed as planned. We couldnt be more satisfied with our experience, and we look forward to returning soon!
Absolutely loved the decor of this restaurant. I wished both sides of the restaurant offered music the day we visited. Drinks were delicious but the food was just ok. I ordered the savage remix. The chicken, bacon and eggs had absolutely no flavor. The waffle and fries were ok. We also ordered the peach bourbon wings, crispy. The wings werent seasoned and they definitely were not crispy. The peach bourbon flavor was ok. Overall Id give the food a 3/5.
We were in town for a conference and needed to get out of the hotel. Stopped in 7th & Grove and it was such a vibe. Drinks were top notch, food excellent and the atmosphere was killer. Jarvis, one of the owners, introduced himself and gave us a lesson in cognac. He was so kind and knowledgeable. I would definitely stop in again when I’m in town.
I wish I was told prior to reservation that there is a time limit you can be seated. I knew something was getting ready to happen because they kept pointing and looking at my table. Such unprofessional way to do business and how to treat a paying customer!
Came here a few weeks ago with some coworkers for brunch and it was literally amazing. I came right at open and was supposed to meet with everyone but they all ended up extremely late but the hostess and security were super accommodating and patient. I couldnt be sat until my party was there (understandably because they are a high volume busy restaurant in ybor) but they had no issue with me sitting in the waiting area and let us skip the longgggg line outside when my party finally arrived. I had the Before I Let Go and genuinely was one of the best meals Ive had. The chicken is so good and Ive never thought of trying it with French toast before but it was a perfect combination 🖤. I wish I could remember my servers name but she was so sweet and attentive!! Im literally counting down the days till I have another chance to get brunch here again. I will be telling everyone I know to try this place from now on 🫶
What a wonderful meal !!!The four of us explored the online menu, made our selections, and then Awe and Wonder began to fill our experience !All four meals were in the advertised Southern style, including catfish, sausage, grits, collard greens, and even some deliciously seductive Bread Pudding !Specialty cocktails were well-conceived, deftly prepared, and oh so tasty to the palette !Kamina also mixed a Perfect 10 on a custom martini order !It was evident she knew her way around the back-bar !!Jessica J graced our table with efficient, unobtrusive, and fully attentive service !!! (Even when I was confused.)Altogether, a touch of Southern Cooking with a flair !We Will Be Back !Dear Reader, come join us !
