First time at this salon and my appointment was with Heather. I’ll definitely be back. Heather took her time with me during our consult and she really listened to understand. I received the best cut I have had in a year. I moved here a year ago and I’ve been looking for a hairdresser that I can keep going to and Heather is that hairdresser. She really knows how to cut and style fine hair.

First time taking my daughter for fantasy coloring. Didnt know would be such a long process but the staff are amazing. Amber did a fantastic job on her hair. Keith at front desk is great. Very nice experience!

Gadabout is the best! I go there regularly and see Debbie. When my daughter was attacked by a dog and it left her hair in a tangled mess I took her to Gadabout to get it detangled. Multiple ladies teamed up to work with such kindness and gentleness on my daughter. We ended up having to cut the tangle out, but Debbie made it look intentional and gave her an adorable cut and style.

Me and my mini bestie came for pedicures with Ms Jolene and OMG we loved it and she was amazing with my mini guest. We definitely will be back, we loved it here. The staff was so nice and kind, thank you! 😄

I personally feel like I was way overcharged for my nails, did not love the inconsistency of the design on my nails, and felt like the lady who helped me checkout was quite rude. Also had to wait 15 minutes despite having an appointment. I will not be going back.

Cameron is the boss for us black women with mixed hair needing a cut and style, color, balyage, or whatever! Great personality to boot! Go see this man!

I just went to Gadabout for the first time and it was great. Everyone was so nice. The salon/spa was amazing.Devon did my eyebrow wax and she made sure they were exactly how I wanted. She was also very sweet.Cameron did my hair. He was so personable and funny. He also made sure my hair was what I wanted. It was a big cut. I was able to donate 10 inches, which made my haircut complimentary. (I tipped of course.)I will be back!

Took my daughter in to get pampered with some color correction and haircut. Was a fantastic experience. We were both pampered by the staff as I sat and watched all the magic. Served watermelon infused water, a variety of teas and coffee. Our stylist was Dorene. We started at 3pm and finished near 7pm due to multiple color treatments. Dorene was amazing, never once appearing to rush as we went well past closing time. She is an absolute pleasure to work with, a true professional. Thank you!

Jolene is amazing! I came here to get my nails done before my wedding and she was so patient and helpful even though I was quite indecisive about what color I wanted. She made sure I was totally happy and worked with me to find exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much, Jolene!!!

The stylist who has been cutting hair for 2.5 years at Gadabout ruined my hair. I was there for 3.5 hours for a haircut. A master level stylist had to come and fix my hair. In order to correct the cut she had to cut all my hair off. I went in with hair to my shoulders and came out with hair to my chin. This is the second time this has happened to me. I have finally learned my lesson. Never go there!

I Love my hair stylist Elaine at Gadabout. She listens to my needs and works wonders with my hair. They are very nice and welcoming at Gadabout north.

Loved my experience with Mariela at River today! I got an express Keratin treatment! She styled my hair so well and I am so excited for the smoothing results I will now see!It was 42 degrees outside when I arrived. I needed to use their restroom and they have heated toilet seats!! Such a fancy extra added touch!

Literally the worst haircut of my life. Everyone there smokes and you can smell it on everyone, everywhere in the salon. Extremely amateur and unable to listen or perform very basic trim. No attention to detail at all, just completely out of it and very rough in the handling of my head. My hair was tugged at and pulled multiple times to separate it into quadrants to poorly chop and stop... My head was tilted and pushed in every direction too. I was even offering suggestions of what to do!!! Can you imagine! Absolutely terrible and to be avoided at all costs.

Love the energy of this salon, staff is attentive, they do hair, nails, and facials also, Bernice is Amazing with hair, she was able to fix my bangs which my previous hair stylist messed up, she is so sweet and has the biggest smile!! Bernice is my new Lady!!

Jo was amazing. She listened and worked with me to get great results. Shed better never move or retire because shes the stylist for me.The place is clean! They clean the shampoo bowls between each customer. Jo cleaned her entire station before and after my appointment. Very pleasant staff. Definitely recommend.

Bernice is literally the best hairstylist there is in Tucson. I am not conflating this statement whatsoever. She can do short cuts, mid length, long, layers, really anything and she does it all incredibly well. She is professional yet friendly. You cant walk out of an appointment with Bernice and not feel amazing because her work is superb. I may regret posting this because I may have to wait longer to book an appointment with her but she is worth the wait.

Always a great experience! Mandy is AWESOME and LISTENS to what I want and HOW I want her to cut it. Shes FANTASTIC...and her scalp massages during the condition process....AMAZING!!!

I highly recommend Miranda, she is AMAZING!! She has been doing my hair for over 20 years and I have NEVER had a bad haircut or color treatment. Miranda is personable, professional, knowledgeable, and one of the sweetest people I know! One of the best things I love about her is she does not make you feel rushed when youre in her chair, she is completely focused on me and what she is doing with my hair. Her knowledge about color, technique, and products never ceases to amaze me and I always leave there learning something new about my hair and why it does what it does. I have very long and naturally curly hair and it is NOT easy finding someone who knows what to do with it, but Miranda did from the very first time I saw her. She is so good that I constantly get asked who my hairstylist is, so I carry around her business cards and just hand them out. Go see Miranda at the Speedway Gadabout, you wont regret it!!

Called day-of and was able to get a same-day appointment for a bangs trim and blow out. Id just moved from Michigan and was still figuring out where things are around Tucson, so I arrived a few minutes late. My stylist, Marc, was still incredibly polite and accommodating, and was waiting to greet me by the front desk. He looked super professional and was very welcoming! The salon was relatively busy (always a good sign, IMHO, esp when Im looking for a new salon) and the decor was quite hip. Marc gave an excellent scalp and neck massage during the shampoo and led me to a well-lit workstation with a comfortable chair. He did a fantastic job with trimming my bangs, asking lots of questions throughout, and was very gentle with my (fine, wavy) hair during the blowout. Several stylists interacted with Marc throughout the appointment and were super chill and very polite. At the end of the appointment I was left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and like my day had been turned around. Despite some reviews having said that Gadabout was pricey, I felt like the price I paid was both fair and accurate for the service I received. I will definitely be returning to Gadabout--Im so grateful that I found them as soon as I did after my move to Tucson. I usually have to try a lot of different salons before settling on one. Not the case this time!

I have been seeing Romina at the Speedway location for 10+ years for color and cut. She is always very professional, on time, and always makes sure that I love my hair! She is the absolute best!

I love this place. It took me a couple visits to find Toni, and now thats all Ill see. They offer coffee and tea and have a great shampoo area with calming nature tv. Def recommend

My first time at Gadabout was yesterday 7/23/19. I usually do my hair myself (I am a stylist elsewhere) but for what I wanted this time, I needed an expert and someone elses help who I could trust. I came on here and saw that Marisol at the Speedway location was mentioned the most (she works at the Speedway location) when it came to color and lifting/bleaching. I am so happy that I chose her to do such a project on my hair. Going lighter can be scary because you are giving someone the power to either create a masterpiece or completely ruin/damage your hair. Marisol did everything that I wanted and more, she was so kind and gentle and really did have the health of my hair in mind and was realistic about what was achievable. She knew exactly what she was doing and treated my hair as if it was hers. Marisol did what she could without damaging my hair and everything that she used product wise was amazing and so gentle! My hair is SO light just from one sitting of 3 hours. Tone was perfect, and my hair does not feel damaged at all, honestly. Wow, I am honestly in shock with the results. Did not think that my experience or my hair could be this amazing. Definitely going back to her and I highly recommend her to anyone else that is looking to color their hair (especially lightening/bleaching). I went for a pedicure. Elizabeth was welcoming, kind and attentive. I have teeny, tiny toenails, and she aced the polish work. I look forward to booking with her again in the future.

Went in for a massage bc I had a gift certificate. I will NEVER go back. The massage was less than great. No professional intake procedure. I asked for specific focus areas but got a full body which wasnt what I was looking for and spent 2 min in my feet which made me upset. She told me what she wanted to work on on me. She didnt listen to what i wanted. She also got lotion in my hair and the lotion smelled.like mayo and I had to go to work right after and I smelled weird all day like mayo. I was also on time to my apt and they took me in 10 min after my start time and I didnt get a full hour and a half I paid for. I paid for the extra half hour and I was all dressed and out of my massage before my original end time. I felt cheated out of half an hour. On top of that, they had to leave a tip on another system, square card reader thing for the therapist, and they FAILED to tell me I was getting charged additional taxes on top of my VERY GENEROUS tip. If I knew that I wouldnt have left the amount I did. I feel terribly cheated and ripped off. Poor poor service.

Our experience was AMAZING!! I got just the cut I wanted! Rose was so helpful! If you want short hair she specializes in that. It didn’t take long and we were able to get in same day! It’s conveniently located and they don’t make you wait if you’re there on time. The staff is really helpful and nice. It was the best cut I have gotten in a long time. If you want a good cut go there😊

Giancarlo was great. Came in with a lot of growth and got a full highlight job. The person washing my hair was a little rough and my neck and head are honestly a little sore from their techniques. Prices are a little steep too, but I feel it was justified. I will be going back for sure!

Nice place, decent massages, friendly staff. I went in for massages and hair and skin services..... ended up not getting the skin services due to an allergic reaction to a new foundation the day prior to my appointment. Went through with the hair and body. Everything was good. Just too expensive. I was not prepared for the final bill. I was expecting to spend around $250.00 .... walked out close to $500.00 not including tips. Great place, great services. just be prepared to spend!.My biggest gripe was the parking lot.... super tight had to circle around for a while looking for a spot making me late to my appointment.

I made a coloring appointment. I was looking for a completely different look than what I got. The coloring I got made me look so much old. It brought out my wrinkles. I wanted something completely different. I was looking for a darker look with highlights. Somehow the styles enhanced the highlights instead of adding a darker tone.I didn’t want to be blonde. I wanted darker color with blonde highlights in my hair. I brought a picture in to show what I was looking for in my coloring. It was dark hair color with highlights. My friend that was with me even told me, “Oh my god what did they do to your hair. You look 20 years older and your wrinkles stand out big time. It’s the first thing I noticed. She said it’s really bad. I will never step back into gadabout again.

Dorene has been doing my hair for almost a year and a half now and I dread the day I may have to move away. She’s a great stylist and I appreciate Gadabout’s cleanliness.

If youre looking for that perfect haircut that makes you feel amazing, this is the place! Ive been going here for a couple of years now and I really cant recommend it enough. I always trust Mary and she never lets me down. This time she really went above and beyond by coordinating my daughters to get haircuts at the same time I did, saving us hours!

I will not return.My haïr looked fine on Day 1, but after the first shampoo, it was as if I had not gone to the salon: my gray hair was visible, and my highlights were gone/not visible.

Beware of Lauren!I went in to get my grown out layered bob into a blunt shoulder length bob and Lauren BUTCHERED my hair. One side is definitely longer than the other and the length is at my ears!!!!! She came in with the scissors to cut more telling me its going to look stupid and needed to cut more.SHE ALREADY CUT OFF EVERYTHING leaving me looking like Dora the Explorer.I started crying immediately seeing what she had done to me. There is no fixing it. I’d have to settle for a Karen haircut.I didn’t get charged for the cut because she knew she MESSED UP MY HAIR BEYOND REPAIR. I wouldn’t have paid anyway. I had to buy bobbie pins and a hair piece to get me through a grow out process.I hate what she has done to me and how this haircut has effected my self esteem. I don’t leave the house unless I’m going to work. Im mortified. Her lame apology doesn’t make this go away.I’m angry that she did this to me.STAY FAR AWAY FROM LAUREN!!!!!

Awful. Hair stylist had another client at the same time as my trial BRIDAL appointment and kept leaving to check on her. She also made excuses about why the hairstyle I wanted was impossible without a hairpiece yet I watched a tutorial online of a girl doing the exact style with shorter hair than mine. The makeup artist was much nicer and redid the style according to my comments but still the style was really lacking, especially for what I paid. I asked for a smoky eye and she only used one shade and took the color almost to my eyebrow.Ended up cancelling my wedding day appointment. Id rather do everything myself than go through that painful experience again.

I reached out via online chat from the website to see about getting my hair shampooed. I figured it was a long shot, but after getting my eyebrows microbladed a week ago, I couldn’t risk getting my brows wet if I washed my hair in the shower. I explained my circumstances, and much to my surprise, they offered to shampoo my hair, compliments of the salon. I feel so much better, and my hair is so soft and manageable. Thank you so much Gadabout for being so kind, generous, and squeezing me in at the last minute!

My fiancee went to get her hair cut for the first time at your salon this past weekend. She went to the Tanqur Verde location and was super impressed. She loved the atmosphere and raved on about how the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Im sure she will be returning!!

Inconsistent hair stylistwith no follow from managementThe first time I went it was great I had a blowout I booked in for a blowout five days later probably the worst blowout I’ve ever had. I expressed of the hairstylist that she had to smooth my hair down with a straight iron she couldn’t just blow dry it as it’s very coarse and it needs the flat iron to seal the cuticles. The hairstylist seemed very off put by doing her job and made me feel uncomfortable she only wanted to do the crown of my head not the entire head of hairI expressed this management with no follow up.

I went to Denise today to have my hair fixed and she did a wonderful job! Her highlights are beautiful, perfectly toned, and expertly placed. I have had a lot of highlights in my life both good and bad and hers were definitely very good and look natural like I asked. She is very efficient without making you feel rushed, and is very personable. I loved the cut she did too! I went from long to shoulder-length hair and it is even, flowing, and very volumes. Absolutely no choppy layers, just a good long layered cut! The salon is clean and had a great vibe to it. I will definately be back to see her!

My senior-level stylist was late, rushed, largely uncommunicative, and removed 18-inches of hair in what resulted in an unremarkable and unflattering cut. Me? Im so opposed to controversy, I plastered a smile on my face, thanked her graciously, went home, and freaked out. Then I wrote the salon, and was offered a sincere apology and a refund. I honestly cant recommend Gadabout, but they did what they could to make things right. I own my part in this mishap. Communication is SO important, and while being in a swanky salon can feel intimidating, we all need to find our voice and confidence (even if its in an after-the-fact review). Sorry Gadabout. Not a fit for me.

I just moved from the Phoenix area to Tucson and had to find a hair stylist. So I went to gadabout and I met Rose. Rose did go and consult with one of the senior colorists to get my hair color right. You know how we girls are with our hair and hair color and cuts and all of that. Especially very worried when you transfer. Well the cut was good I have curly hair, so the fact that she could cut hair was very good for me. However the color not so good. Much darker. I was now going on a corporate trip back to Florida and had to meet everybody. I went into Rose and I explained the situation and said we got to get this right Rose. And she did I had high and lowlights the base color was just the right shade and of course she cut it well. So if youre looking for someone at the speedway location get to Rose cuz she will work on you until its right

Had an appointment at 1:15 -- arrived and was checked in by one of 4 associates who were standing around at the front desk. No one mentioned that my stylist was running 30 minutes behind schedule.I sat and waited, checking twice to see what was going on and was told, shes almost ready for you.Had I been told the truth at the start, I would have re-scheduled -- I had other appointments to get to yesterday.The stylist then overprocessed my hair (left my color on for 45 minutes while she took another client). I was sent to the shampoo area and declined a deep conditioning that would have bought her more time to work on another client -- so I sat again ---186.00 for an overprocessed color and a quick (less than 5 minute) cut. I am not pleased and will never visit this (or any other Gadabout) location again.

I love going to this wonderful salon. Its best to go on a weekday when your hair cutter- colorist has time to shampoo you and then you get a nice head massage as well as a great cut and good color.

I have been going to this Gadabout location for 20 years, same great service the whole time. Everyone is happy to help and to make your experience the best it can be. The services are top notch and their product selection is the best available in town, including their private label line of product. I also appreciate the fact that the employees are treated like family by the owners, this show through in the longevity of their careers and results in a superior experience for customers. There is not another business in town that recognizes my whole family by sight.

Hazel did such a great job with my hair for my wedding! She knew exactly what I wanted and executed perfectly, will definitely recommend her to others!

Ive been here once and Ill be back again. Its a large place with a nail salon and makeup station. The atmosphere is calm and confident. The people who work here are top notch from the greeters to the stylists. Theres a waiting area, not just chairs, with comfortable seating for you to wait until youre called. They sell a large assortment of products, too. Lastly, the ventilation system works very well so I didnt smell the nail salon or hair products being used. Thats important to me for health reasons.

Made an appointment for my daughter to donate her hair to locks of love. The hairstylist was great and the haircut was fine. My disappointment came when my daughters hair was swept into a pile with the clients next to her and left next to the garbage can. Then at the end I was taken to the front and charged even though I had been told over the phone it would be free. Several times during the appointment i did mention donating her hair being the reason she finally decided to cut her hair. The lack of communication between the schedulers and hairstylists is something this place obviously needs to address. I will not be using this establishment again.

Rose was my stylist and she did amazing! My hair looks and feels better than it has in years, and she really listened to me. This will be my new go-to. Thank you!

High end salon. Had a massage with B just worked out all the kinks. Beautiful friendly people. You must book in advance. If youre interested in giving one of.the newcomers a chance they are very awesome and well trained. Ask for a newbie, (My word not theirs) they are really good too and not crazy booked. You will definitely find someone whos awesome.

Ive had nothing but wonderful hair cuts from Toni here for over a decade! Their waxing girl is very professional, gentle, and skilled. Definitely worth the price!

The salon is beautiful and everyone is so pleasant and very helpful! I go to Marco and he is an amazing stylist. Gadabout is so much more professional that the last salon I went to. That place was unprofessional and catty. God forbid you had to take something back. Gadabouts are the complete opposite! Love it there!

I got charged $200 to get my roots done, when it costed $200 to get my whole head bleached. Rip off! Macy over processed my hair which resulted me in having breakage in the back of my head. Way too expensive for anything other than a simple haircut.

Its always a nice experience there, whether to get your hair done, or for the spa!

Very professional and thorough stylists. I saw Tammy for a cut and bayalage, I didnt exactly love the color but she saw me again and toned it to exactly the shade I wanted. More than I would normally pay, but worth it!

The people were nice but I payed way too much for very little done. The color can barely be seen in my hair and I was told after a few washes it would be perfect. That is not true and the color is worse. I am very unhappy with my experience. A huge waste of time and money. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Disappointing. I was excited for my 50min massage but the experience was a damper. I called to say I got out of work late and asked if I should reschedule, the woman I spoke with made it seem as though it was no problem. Soo I hurry over to the spa. AFTER check-in, pay, etc., while walking over to the changing room Im notified my massage will be shortened by the amount of minutes I was late, great. Standard procedure, yes, I understand. The annoying thing- why was this not mentioned over the phone??? (thats why I asked?!) The massage itself was nice, average; counter girls were a little snobby.Only reason Id go back is because I got a gift card. Although, due to my last experience Ive had it a while now..

I have been a been a Gadabout customer for over 30 years. The Speedway location is my favorite. Everyone is friendly, but Giancarlo Console is the best stylist I have ever had, and Krystal for nails is amazing. The slightly higher cost is worth it as there really is a Gadbout experience that cannot be duplicated at other salons.

Had a great experience with Tonie! She was amazing and helped fix my hair that was cut horribly at another salon! I will definitely be back!

I cant speak to the other services, but I had a Manicure and Pedicure. I had a 7pm appointment which was honored and in fact I was seen early. Christie did both my nails and toes and was friendly, offered a great conversation and personalized service. I think their prices are fantastic - $30 for both Manicure and Pedicure is hard to find now a day.The salon roomy and clean, it is on a semi-busy street, the decor is stylish. Not only that, it is clean, hygienic and Christie is dedicated to cleanliness and safety. Like other reviews, Christie and her sister were remarkably friendly and pleasant. For chained local business, Id continue to patron this place for my mani/pedi needs. Not only that, theyre trying to be as green as possible and also trying to accommodate the needs of the neighborhood

Dawn De Anda is a very talented hair stylist. She is one of the few who cuts my hair with a razor. She always listens to what I feel is right for my hair. I always leave looking great.

Miranda is the best color stylist there is. She designs the best look for your skin color, it always looks great. Other stylists are even always asking her what formulas they should use.

Was very disappointed with my haircut and they very kindly didnt charge me for it. Might give it another try in about 6 months when all of the layers I didnt want grow out!

There are many Gadabouts. I am hooked on the one on Speedway,I would be lost without my stylist Mandy. When I enter the spa I leave all negative feeling behind. The energy in most Spas I have been in the feeling is pure comfort. I do want to let people know that if you dont take care of your self no one else will. Man also go to the spa I go to. I never run into them only in line to check out.

I waited 3 months for my appointment. When I went in on my scheduled day and time they told me the stylist was no longer there. Good custom service would have been yo call his scheduled appointment and let them know. Very unprofessional and I will not be scheduling there again.

Anisa at the River and Campbell location did my transformation and Im thrilled!No more grey COVID roots or needing to dye every few weeks. She matched my roots perfectly.

Berenice did an incredible job taking my long long hair into long layers and chopping off the dead ends! And Roni did a lovely job on my toes for my pedicure. Ill be going again

A Tucson institution. I have been a customer since the 90s. Its definitely not the cheapest salon, but you can be guaranteed excellent service and great products.

They used to be responded me with e-mail quickly for make a reservation.But I don’t know why they stopped to respond me and ignored my request date. also that wasn’t first time happened.Maybe because just a bang trim??Once, they sent me e-mail says sorry but nothing changes even now.

They took very good care of my daughter. This was her first time and it was a very positive experience for her. Im very appreciative!!

Waited 20 minutes post appointment time and stylist still looking like not going to see us for awhile, and we would have run out of time to make it to our next commitment. So we left - what is the point of having an appointment if they are so overbooked they make you wait half an hour?

Worse experience ever!!!, they ruined my hair by coloring it black when all I wanted was for them to tone my orange highlights I had from before, I told them the same day I didn’t like it that it was to dark and redish but they were to busy to take me back the same day, I had a special event to go to the next day so I ended up going to Ulta for them to try and fix it a little, they tried by shampooing it but it wouldn’t come out, so they had to bleach it because my black was permanent, it still didn’t look good because in order for my hair not to get damage they have to lighten it by steps, it’s going to cost me a lot of money and time to take the back and red out, the manager there wasn’t very nice about it either, she didn’t want to give me my money back but it doesn’t matter anymore since my hair it’s already ruined, I even talk to a lawyer about the damage they cause me not only to my hair but to my mental stress, I got depressed because of it, Us ladies know how sad it can be when it comes for someone ruining our hair like that, I gave 1 star because the hair stylist was super nice, but everything else was horrible starting with my hair and ending with the manager
