The decor would delight the psychedlicly inclined. Unfortunately, the bar was sans brew and vino. The very nice bartender said that at about 10-11 there would be quite a gaggle to navigate. But no red. We had to move on.

The best vibes!! Stumbled upon this spot with my girlfriends on a Thursday night and they had great music, fun lights and a dj. Quick bar service and a cool outdoor area. Will definitely be back!

Been going to Wai Bar for over 5 years! Friendly staff, great selection of drinks, KARAOKE on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and AWESOME vibes from locals and visitors alike. Theres a couple of performance arts venues nearby so lots of talented people will stop in for a cocktail and karaoke!

Sooooo much fun!! Our new favorite Saturday night spot. Local, neighborhood hang out. The DJ was ON POINT and played a wonderful mix of reggae, soca, reggaeton, afro beats. I danced all night. Annnnd theyre open until 2am!! Great after hours meet up!

Had a very good cocktail with local spirts. It was really one of the only social spots to see human activity (locals) on a Saturday night in city center Wailuku....once the restaurants closed at ~7pm. [Would have been a 5 star review, but the DJ live music was over amplified for the size of the room. And my seat was furthest away from stage. Perhaps they should try “silent disco” mode if things are already set at #3.]

Im torn. I want to give this bar 5 stars. It has a fantastic alcohol selection, plenty of local tap beers, and a great local atmosphere. The main problem is the music. There is a stage at the end of the bar that has live music most nights. The music is great and the local bands are fun to listen to. The problem is the insistence of amplifying the bands sound. In a bar of this size, letting a band use loud speakers is just odd. The sound bounces off the hard walls and you have to yell to have a conversation with friends or the server. Turn down the volume and it would get 5 stars easily.

The bartender guy is very rude! We ordered and tipped nicely every time but he didn’t treat us well. He knocked off the measuring cup from the counter by his elbow but then got mad and pointed fingers at us, insisted throwing us out of the bar! I requested to see the manager and the bouncer just ignored me and kept pushing my friends aggressively out of the bar! Never again will we go to this place!

My favorite bar on Maui! Great drinks, fun variety of events, and it has always been LGBT+ inclusive for 5+ years I’ve been going. There’s security every day of the week and it feels very safe. They cater to both locals and tourists and it gets a fun, lively crowd on weekends and event nights. The owner, Johnny, is really a solid guy who always looking out for his patrons and the community, and always strives to do the right thing and take care of everyone. Maui needs more establishments like Wai Bar, especially for the LGBT+ community so we know we have a safe and accepting space with a lot of aloha!

Passed by this bar many times when riding thru Wailuku. Decided to stop in one evening. Nice place. Bartendress, Savanah, was nice. Wont be regular place for me since I live Upcountry but I would recommend it.

One of my favorite bars on the island Ive been going for years whenever I go its a great time, djs are great, sound is great and the bartenders are great, there security guards offer a feeling of safety as well. Love it hereee!!!

Love the cocktails here! Super friendly staff and great events. They dont have food but you can bring in food and eat it there!

I can only speak for karaoke night since thats when I went but Id definitely recommend and would also suggest getting a burger in the beer garden. I guess he was just doing his job but the bouncer was kind of an overzealous helicopter though which took me out of the fun carefree experience a bunch of times. Either way, would recommend, everyone else was super friendly and welcoming and the karaoke DJ was a lot of fun. Be ready to pick/sing 2 songs in a row if you get there early ;)

Just cuz I seen multiple people in the hospital who were attacked at your bar.Spinal injuries. Brain bleeds. And head stomping.Apparently the owner never has any footage of the attacks. Yet there multiple people who’ve been hospitalized. This really how you treat your Kamaaina?

Bartenders Alfie and Savannah were amazing and they make an incredible margarita Music is always great always a new dj or live band playing amazing place recommend it for everyone 🤙🏽

The lady bartender with the short blonde hair was AMAZING! Didnt have the ingredients to make us the drinks we wanted (she just started her shift) so she made us something special, and they were the BEST drinks wed ever had!! Great music, great atmosphere!

Nice cocktail bar on Main Street in Wailuku. Happy hour is between 4 pm and 6 pm.

Its an ok place to get a drink w friends only because it seems a little lost in what it is supposed to be as a bar. With so much square footage at the back dedicated to a dark stage that remains unused space most of the time it makes the bar have a slightly sad and empty feel, especially when its slower. It is a nice space tho and it is clean w nice bartenders.

Great service! Fresh juices in all drinks w juice. Owners on site and very friendly. Happy hour every day 4-6 pm. Great Happy hour prices and atmosphere. Live music on Friday nights. A must see for Wailuku, HI.

Went in on a Thursday to have a drink and found out they were doing karaoke! The vibe was awesome and so was all of the staff. I would definitely recommend!

This bar is fraud . Dont go there especially if you are a tourists . We ordered two beers ,left 5 bucks tips and next morning she updated my tips to 30. This is insane ,they probably hoping that people is so drunk there or something so they wouldnt notice. Such a scam . We wasnt drunk and this is redicilus updated tips by themselves . I called them to figure it out but they are ignoring my voicemail. Stay away from that place! If they can update tips and no one controls it its could be any amount.

Best time to go is on a Thursday. The barista let me become the unofficial DJ. 🤙🤙 Already miss the place.Never go on the weekend because youll get tinnitus and have your ears bleed the music is so loud. Also, if you wanna talk to your friends on the weekend you better know sign language.

Didn’t like this place much. Really friendly and kind service, but the menu is very poor. Nothing to drink if it’s not alcohol. No tea or coffee. I liked the area on the backyard, very nice. Inside is too dark and it stinks. Restrooms are horrible. They have a happy hour which is a big plus.

Everyone talks about this bar but I wasnt really impressed. First off they charge girls a cover fee so no girls show up. We went there and literally we some of the only girls there so then it was just really awkward and so we left. The music was so loud you couldnt hear anything your friends were saying. It could have potential but it needs better direction and management.

Great drinks and even better service! Every time I go, the staff is super nice. Local vibes and great place near home to relax. I recommend the Lilikoi Lemon Drop drink! (But to be fair, anything with Lilikoi is awesome! :) )

I like the atmospheric vibe. But I cant be bias bcuz I do know the DJ. Shes a great lady. And the clientele is more local then NOT. So I cant say anything Bad about the place since I like it very much. I can only say if you wanna check it out for and experience it yourselves it would be up to you on how u see the place

Good happy hour. Mostly locals with a few tourists in the mix. The drinks on hh are $4-8. No food that Im aware of but the excellent Hi Thai is one block away. Maui Mule with Pau Vodka used a too sweet ginger beer.

Cool little bar. Sometimes they have stuff going on, (DJ, events, live music, etc) and other times its a quiet little hole in the wall type bar. Either way, I have always enjoyed myself there, and I would recommend it to anybody looking for a bar in Wailuku.

It’s alright although they should announce somehow when is paid entrance and when is free because I go often and sometimes is free sometimes 5 bucks sometimes 10 bucks and you know sometimes I wanna grab a beer only so it makes no sense to pay 10 bucks entrance and 6 a beer and leave .

People need to come check out Friday night the DJ was awesome . And the drinks were strong lol me and my wife enjoyed tonight we will be back next Friday .

This club was off the hook Friday night. Awesome DJ and lighting. Drinks were slow to come but other than that night life is back on Friday. Good job waibar

We went in the afternoon and Paul the bartender was very welcoming and had great conversation and stories to tell . My drink was delicious and he had great recommendations for our visit . Will definitely go back

Lots of fun. The only real bar in wailuku unless you want to go to a hostess bar. Sit and talk story with the bartender in and make you a really cool new infusion.

Wai Bar is the best addition to Wailuku in many years. Much aloha and tasty drinks, a perfect place to hang with friends and listen to some great music. The new must go to place on Maui.

Shady people. They charged me 25$ for a small glass of Jameson sour. Didnt even give me a receipt. Sad how they think its okay.

Its crowded in a lot of places. You cant drink where you dance, and you cant dance where you drink. Good music but sometimes an awkward space.

First visit, newer bar in the area thats off to a great start, slowly but surely turning into a great new addition to the area, good cocktails, music and crowd.

Although the staff were friendly, having to wait for drink orders to be taken because only the bartender was allowed to do so, did make for a long wait.
