I am from NY and I had the pleasure of going to Lit 21 with my sister and we had an amazing time the food and customer service was at 10/10. We loved Angel she took great care of us very nice , polite and welcoming energy! We had good music, great scenery, the prices were great, unlimited mimosas and Hooka everything we were looking for! So if you’re ever in the area and need a good vibe and food this is the place to go! 10/10 highly recommend!!

Great spot right off the water. Cool staff!!!! Yohan was amazing and makes the best Old Fashioned!!!! Definitely coming back when I’m in Newark.

My friend had a Birthday party get together here. Girls night out. We had fun! I will come here again. Happy Hour was lit!!!

The night was cool , hooka was mid but the lemon drops was the top 2 things of the night. The best thing of the night was Jamil was our waiter and he was so nice ! He was so attentive to his tables , did everything with a smile !!the wings and fries were better than i expected so kudos to them !! Next time , don’t take the music away from the patio , because there is an event inside. Keep the music the same or get another DJ. Bad way to promote whatever event was happening inside.Other than that , great time & beautiful service !!

Went for their rnb party on Saturdays. The dj was great, crowd was great and so was the food. I had the henny margherita and it tasted great. I would go back!

Angel was great very understanding and patient with us. She’s also quick drinks and appetizers came out almost immediatelyFood was great was our first time definitely a blast. Hookah wasn’t so great it didn’t pull and when it finally did the taste died down almost instantly, lasts about 30 min. Menu drinks aren’t so great either, the suggestion she made to help were better, but for the price the club cocktails could be much better. Music was great vibe was great they have an outdoor area really cute. Overall dope place to hang.

Went there on Sundays to brunch. Music was good and so was the food. Hookah half price before 5pm

Came in on a Sunday around 10:30 PM and sat at the bar. The bar was not completely full and only two bartenders on (not the most attentive that’s for sure). I feel like the service could have been a lot better. Simply checking on your customers here and there as the times goes by goes a long way.I ordered a steak salad added avocado and it was the WORST salad I’ve EVER had. I asked for the steak to be cooked means they gave me DRY WELL DONE STEAK. I am sure my 9 year old can do a better job. At this point I wanted nothing else. If you mess up a salad you’ll mess everything else up! My salad had zero dressing. I picked on the avocados and tomatoes and that’s all I had.My first time here and most likely my last.

Hogan was very attentive and patient with myself which I am thoroughly grateful for so LIT21 is most definitely 20/10 🙌🏾💪🏾👍🏾

My second time visiting and I have to say the service was amazing! Specially thanks to Cynthia. I was having a very bad day. But her costumer service went above and beyond. It was a busy Tuesday night and she was the only one I see on the floor. But she was on top of everything. I hope your managers acknowledge your hard work.Great service, great drinks and good hookah.

We went here for the first to just sit and relax. Place is just ok and not that crowded when we came to visit on a weekday around 7pm.Staff are very accommodating and helpful.If you want chill from toxic and stressful day. Then come and visit this place.

I love it on Wednesday, I dont know about other days lol. Fridays, you got to pay for parking. Overall, I love it here. I have to say something though....Yohan guy is fantastic. That man would make me come again. He was at the bar stand and gave us a good service.

This was my first time here and of course I have to give a review. This place wasn’t hard to find it stands out especially at night you really can’t miss the sign. I came here on a Tuesday night with a friend. The ambience was cute from the inside and outside. I sat outside due to the weather being nice and also had an amazing view. The service was pretty good. As for food I ended up getting wings and fries and for the drink my friend and I got the fishbowl with Bacardi. I forgot the name of it so excuse me on that part. They do serve hookah separately from the food and drinks it was kind of challenging getting the person who does hookah to be able to get us one, but we ended up getting help from the server. Overall I would come back to this place it’s definitely good vibes.They have a parking lot so no need to stress about parking which is another great thing about this place and it’s free.

Jesus where do I start?!The fact that they charge individually for each type of liquor in one drink is crazy. My date and I went here last night and we ordered 6 sidecars. 3 of which with Dusse and 3 regulars (I guess)...on the check it looks like they itemized every liquid that goes into the drink.Im still trying to figure it out. This was a new process to me.If your menu says sidecar (specifies any item) then your POS system should notate what the menus says.Why not have a sidecar button?! If that was really the case.The manger and the security said I was broke because they thought I couldnt pay a $115, my first tab was $70 tab but it was the principal. He tried to discount me $10. Im not sure why. I just want my pricing right. They tip themselves, charge 18% gratuity off top. Okay cool. They illegally charge credit card fees and actually put them on the receipt.Now the food.Dont get the salmon. It tastes like an over well done steak but I wasnt expecting too much from this place bc its still just a bar you know. No frills. No thrills.Crab cakes were decent but they even deep fried that.Probably should just do shots here.They have a DJ. Servers are nice. Bartender was nice.Security was giving George Zimmerman. I kinda feel sorry for him.Lastly the hookah guy only takes cash in 2023 😒 and the hookah was weak.With all the extra charging and fees...seem like they are the ones who needs some financial help. 😉

Sunday funday with friends and they did not dissappoint, we arrived right after brunch so we ordered from the regular menu the drinks were good the hookah was reasonably priced and the food was tasty.

Thiphanie is very polite and she was very attentive. Best customer service from anyone in a long time. Unforgettable experience here. Thiphanie was a precious soul. I will be back and will tell many people about my experience at lit 21!

Went there today and unfortunately had a bug in my drink.. I did not receive an apology or have a manager come to the table. Then was charged for the replacement drink 😕.

Astrid was THE BEST bartender ever! I had a long day at work and stopped by for a bite. She made me feel at home and welcomed. I even came back later to party!The food was delicious! The drinks were fairly priced and the vibe was GREAT! Had a very fun night. I really look forward to going back!

Lit21 is my new go to spot. The Service and environment is always welcoming. The staff is so cool. Tiffany was my server the other night, she check up on us to make sure we were enjoying everything. Food is great. Had brunch here once, it was LIT🔥🔥

I had the pleasure of dining at Lit21 recently, and the experience was truly enhanced by our wonderful server, Camila. From the moment we sat down, Camila made us feel welcomed and valued. Her recommendations were spot-on, aligning perfectly with our tastes and preferences, which she took the time to understand. Her attention to detail was impeccable, and she anticipated our needs without being intrusive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and our table was always neat.

Our sever was Cynthia and she was very attentive and tried to make sure we were taken care off. The hookah was good(we got Blueberry mint) the drinks were okay Espresso martini was mid/okay & Long Island ice tea was good). Good music was also playing

Cynthia was a great waitress....she kept our table clean and she made sure our drinks was refilled....Sophia also made sure our hookah was to our liking and refilled when needed...wasnt hard to find assistance when need and the atmosphere was dope...will be returning ❤️❤️

We came on our vacation and it was a great place they had a live Dj and the atmosphere was good and safe they have a police on the entrance and if u got no ID no entrance✍️the picada was of the hook it has 2 dance rooms both were good!

I love going to Lit 21. The ambiance is really nice and our server, Venus is always on point. I dont drink but she makes Shirley Temples for me with extra cherries 💗. The Baja fish tacos are amazing. My husband comes for the hookah, me and my girls for the food and ambiance.

It was a vibe this past friday, the hookah and music was great. the hookah guy abel was the best. he always made sure me and my friends were okay. everything was perfect overall.

I’m such a party person and this place gave me everything I needed. There was a different dj in each section and when I sat out in the back I asked to see if we can change the music and they allowed the dj music from the inside to play on the outside. Karen my server was amazing. Very attentive, helpful and nice. I ordered the salmon, mashed potatoes and spinach. Loved the food except the spinach. I ordered the barcadi bucket definitely recommend. I will be going back and bringing my friends. This place is great and oh yeah they have hookah.

Went here for happy hour the drinks were really good and the prices are reasonable and a lot to choose from the wings were not so good I dont believe they were freshly cooked. As far as the decor and ambiance I loved it. I sat at the back bar and you can see the water and the buildings on the other side and it gave you almost a Miami Feel. I will be going back to take the girls ❤️ for drinks

Came for brunch and had Cynthia serve us. She was vey sweet. There was no DJ but there was music playing . The food was delicious. We had a good time.

Great views. Happy hour was good. Food tasted fabulous. Drinks were good size and quality. Bathroom was pretty clean. Cleaning staff was a little over zealous and the music was very loud so if you wanna have a conversation be prepared to scream. But the music selection was great. I am definitely going to go again. Eh just a note Happy hour ends at 7pm 😉

The atmosphere was spicy. If you’re into Latin dancing and music this is an awesome place.

Pleasantly surprised with their Sunday Salsa Brunch. It was best brunch Ive had in a while. Coconut French toast, steak, dessert and mimosas were nothing short of perfect. Portions are generous and dishes, delicious. One definitely gets their $ worth.

Thiphanie and a amazing person & server. For my first visit it was a pleasure visiting on mothers day.. last minutes plans the best decision we made. She was very attentive to our table. Young, beautiful and knows her job very well.

Brunch vibes were great, food was amazing. I loved it all, and my server Cynthia was absolutely amazing. Im all the way from Memphis and travel to Newark a lot, so I will be returning. 10 out of 10

Thiphanie walking with the other wait staff was sweet and super accommodating/ I have been here multiple times, for both Happy Hour and club time, and I will be returning. I just wish they would limit the table seating for the club as it makes it a bit awkward. Otherwise, it is great.

So unfortunately I have to change my review. I thought the manager took care of me. But that was far from the truth. The careless bartender here charged me for someone else bar tab for more than $40. The bartender then disappeared for 30 minutes. When he reappeared he gave me a bill for $25 which I singed. I didn’t notice until after that i was charged $40 on top of $25. So I returned to the bar and confronted the erroneous bartender, he admitted to his mistake and stated that he voided the charged. After one week I still have the charge on my account and the bar staff are no help. They never let me speak to the manager. I called 4 times and they still didn’t refund me my money..

Do not recommend at all! Horrible service!The worst service I have received at a bar/restaurant.We ordered a hookah, that was too strong so we asked them to fix it. They brought it back just for it to start leaking after 5 minutes all over the table.When we asked to fix it, the lady blamed us for not smoking properly and told us they cant fix it. Never seen this before, nor did we get a refund.About the food service, we waited forever to get water. They did not give us plates when the food came out. Waitresses never checked on us. When I asked for plates, they gave us 3 plates when we were 4 people, go figure. 🤷‍♀️Music - super obnoxiously loud. We couldnt talk to each other at all and this was a weekday evening, not even the weekend.You keep calling servers but they just ignore you, never check up on you and at the end, slam you with 18% gratuity automatically added to the check.Needless to say, never going back.

Look at the food 🤮 and it came cold. The salmon had supermarket sauce on top. The max and cheese was from the box. My partners food was literally cold and the French toast was one piece of bread. I would never go back. Plus automatically gratuity and I tipped extra. Nearly $35 tip and it was bad. I see why it was empty on a Saturday at 3pm.

Had a great time for my anniversary this weekend my server angel made it even better her vibe was amazing she had us dancing drinking and laughing all night. tried a few suggestions from her since this was our first time. Everything amazing, drinks were good, and we even got a great bottle deal for 5 people with food, drinks a bottle and hookahs we did like 150 a person and we were there from 9pm till almost closing time. thats really a steal we will definitely be back soon.

It is definitely a nice spot. The ambiance was a plus. I did asked to see the bottom floor, but the manager didnt let me see it...that was a bummer☹️...even though I didnt tell him who I was. The security in the establishment was definitely a plus, they did what they needed to do👏!! The two djs were on point with their music selection 👌...the food was good, a 4 out of 5 stars 🌟..I hope next time I can see the bottom floor.🤷‍♂️

Do not go to this place if you’re following the soccer games and think they’re properly streaming these- per their advertisements. I went to watch a copa America game and they’re clearly unprepared. The area in the back that is supposed to have the large screen and sound was not ready. They told me that they were waiting for the manager to arrive. Why are you not ready but advertising that you stream all copa America games? Once they finally opened the area, the AC was not working and it was 90 degrees that day. They have many employees, but nobody really helps you or cares much about your experience. Don’t waste your time going there, especially if you’re a true sports fan.

We came to celebrate my bday and the service was so wonderful! Yohan was our bartender and took our order and the drinks and food came out so quickly! Yohan was very attentive to us - even checking on us after we received our food. He also brought cake out for my bday and sung happy bday lol ! :) the music and vibes were emaculate. I went to this place for the first time with a group of us Salsa dancers. And the DJ was a Dominican man and a one genre type of DJ, he played mainly Bachata all night for songs upon songs in a row. Then I asked him to play a Salsa and he threw his hands up in the air took off his head phones and told me to say it to his face and made a move to come down and approach me. I stood there and simply requested to play a Salsa nothing else and he got all in his feelings. To be a DJ you have to have thick skin and also play songs of different Genres not just mainly one all night and the rest once every hour. I won’t be coming here again.

Thiphanie beeeestt waitress so far, only person in the club that actually pays attention to customers. Not even the host from the place welcome us but this lady was the best we could find, you guys better Keep her ❤️♥️♥️

I recently had dinner at Lit 21. The reservation was easy to make and the staff was extremely helpful in accommodating us. We were there on Sunday and we had an awesome waitress by the name of Cynthia. She was friendly, outgoing and provided excellent service! The ambiance was great and the food was delicious. We stayed after dinner because they started playing great music to dance to. It’s a super fun place and they had wonderful cocktails after dinner as well. I would highly recommend Lit 21!

This afternoon I came to lit21 with my friend to enjoy the great weather and patio vibes. We had Yohan as our bartender he was very nice, knows he’s job very well. The manager carolina was very nice, also Thiphanie one of the servers here. Will definitely come back.

LIT 21? More like not lit at all 21. Service is terrible, servers are rude, it’s completely empty on a Friday night. I can count on 1 hand the amount of people here on 1 hand who don’t work here. Everyone is rude and the drinks are $20-$30 a piece. For these prices, go to NYC. Terrible place.

Came here with some girlfriends over the weekend.We arrived at the beginning of the brunch hour so we had the place pretty much to ourselves. Loved the atmosphere!Camila was an awesome waitress and extremely attentive! The drinks were very good. The Hennessy wings i had were just ok , but everyone else enjoyed their meals. Will definitely be back!

We werent able to get the full effect of the place obviously due to c-19. I didnt mind being outside. However, I was very surprised to see 2 children at a lounge where they are smoking hookah and drinking alcohol at 8pm. The vibe was nice. Our waiter was hard working, nice but seemed overwhelmed. However, other staff members tried to help out by popping in to see how we were doing. We came dressed as per the website, but 98% of the guest had on jeans, sneakers and tshirts etc. I personally wouldnt go again, but the crowd seemed to be regulars.

I was there for my friends birthday Abby was my server & she was absolutely the best, such a sweetheart. Made sure we were good and anything we needed was there immediately. Great sport bar. The service and experience was amazing. The staff is great. If you want to get a table I recommend you to get there before 8pm as the place gets crowded. I had a steak and my friend had a salmon and it was beyond our expectations for a sport bar. This place is really good 👍to come with friends and have a good time. Good music. The security checks everyones ID which makes you feel safe. I am definitely coming back with my friends!!!! By the way theres plenty of parking!!!!

A friend of mine invited me to this spot for drinks. I have been to this place before when it was under different management and a different name. When I arrived, there were two parking lots for parking which was great. I walked up and they scan your license, take your name and number in case there is a Covid outbreak, pat you down and check purses. When that was done I found my friend and all the tables were a good length apart from eachother. The waitress was very nice and did her best to be attentive. She took my drink order and suggested the patron sangria. When I tried it, it wasnt the best but I drank it anyway. An issue that I did have was they played too much spanish music. They need to switch it up a bit because it was a mixed crowd. Not eager to go back but would I go back? Maybe

Nicole, it one the best server always was sure to us to be okay with everything and very friendly. Thank you so much will be back again.

Saturday night I sat at the bar and had a couple of blue moons. The beer was ice cold. I can’t remember the last time I had a beer that cold. It was perfect.And the bartenders… wow. They are incredibly hot with very sexy uniforms.Bruna took care of me. Even though the place was busy she made me feel like I had her undivided attention. She was so sweet and charming. I would go back just to see her again.

I REALLY wanted to give them 5 stars I’ll give a 3 because the vibe was dope the food was awesome. However the drinks were good but WEAK AF! I had 4 shots of patron and 3 drinks and was NOT LIT 21 🔥 😞. So I said ok the drinks are weak how about the hookah and that was a no go! $35 each hookah and they don’t do refills you have to buy a new hookah for the same price! But you know what saved this review THE DJ!!!! He went TF IN and I truly appreciate that! over all a GREAT NIGHT! Especially since Ant was out bartender ❤️❤️❤️

Coal was burnt out in less than 20 mins . Lemon drop was more straight shot than an actual lemon drop drink . Very disappointed

The service was good however upon coming in the restaurant, The girls at coat check made us wait 15 minutes to check in our coats while they Continue their conversations. After getting upstairs and having a reservation, they sat us in a space that clearly couldn’t accommodate our party size so we were moved and had to move through 2 rooms. Once we got to our seats, 20 minutes later we our orders were taken. Some of party were served 15 minutes before the others & We all ordered at the same time. When my food arrived, it was completely uncooked and not close to warm or hot. I sent it back and requested a cooked & new meal(Plate). The Order never came out. Lastly, the atmosphere was dead, and the DJ was boring.

Pretty big spot. The DJs on both sides were good. You had the hip-hop side and the Latin side. I did both sides bouncing around. Ill go again.

Cynthia was such a pleasure during my time at Lit21. She was very pleasant and made sure my party was well taken care of. The food and drinks were excellent and exquisite, the music (even on a Wednesday was absolutely perfect). Additionally, the manager, Nigel was such a sweetheart and even took time out of his busy schedule to ensure our night met our expectations. More than pleased with the 2hrs i spent at LIT21.You can never go wrong with Lit21. Good Food. Good People. Good Vibes. The accommodations were 100%. Will return VERY soon! Nice spot with a big open air patio. Dessert was good. Service is friendly. Hookah is good and very reasonably priced at $11, considering they dont renew coals. And Tues night is a packed house of dancers with salsa, bachata, and kizomba lessons before the party kicks off. Definitely coming back!

10 stars everything was great. Thanks to Angel for making my wifes birthday so great. She was attentive, engaging, she sang danced with us literally felt like we actually knew her. Amazing clean up team, i got some drinks from the bar as well just to taste they were nice and strong,music A+ and if you dont hear something you like they have other genres of music playing in other rooms. The experience was ok. Would be nice for them to update their site sometimes feels false information when they say ladies free sign up for guest list and free parking but it’s only for week days but no where on their site says that. Other than that the vibes were cool, dj was cool and staff was respectful and nice.

Staff was off-putting, borderline rude. We had to wave them down for service, and even then they would look at each other to decide who was going to help us. When I received my calamari there was a price tag on my lemon. Just a let down overall.

It was my first time there, and I like that they had someone at the door to greet you, checking IDS and taking photos of whom ever come into the establishment. I felt safe. The server was very attentive. The food was great ,and the portions are worth the price. And it was not very expensive . I would recommend it.

They made us pay $10 to park so that it could be free later in the evening. There was also not enough parking if you came late. DJ was nice and the decor was great! However, the wings and other fried food looked appetizing but tasted like they were cooked in old grease. The ladies room was small and felt like an oven with a big fan blowing the hot air around. I felt bad for the bathroom attendant that had to sit in there!

It was a Sunday August 13th around 6 or 7pm. The Music was EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA loud at the front bar it effected the customer service no one could hear a thing including the bartenders. I had to scream at my homie next to me just to have a few words (and he is a Dj himself) He was like why is my guy playing the music so loud with 15 to 20 peeps at the bar . Other then that everything was official! DOPE SPOT

My 1st time here.... it was alright! Hookah must be Paid in cash.. they make no mention to it until it’s time for you to pay it then they’re quick to tell you if you don’t want “I will take it back” if I didn’t want it I would never have ordered and it comes with no refills. Because of that no tip was left because if you don’t properly provide information I can’t help you when you mess up.The food and drinks where ok! I’ll give it another try

Whenever I visit, I am treated like a customer should be, no matter if I order food or drinks. There are very few spots in Newark and the surrounding area that offer a variety of special “nights” like Lit 21, nights that are sure to cater to your desires. I mostly drink and chill there but the bartenders are friendly and remember my drinks whenever I return. Bruna, one of the bartenders, is especially kind and an expert at her job, as I’ve seen as the standard there.

Me and my girlfriend had a great time also our dinner was good my girlfriend had to change her fist choice cause it was to salty . The only thing I want to ask is why you there you dont have refill on hookah you would have us buy more .not fair to pay $25 every time you need to change it when its finish and its fast cause you dont put enough flavor cigar!

Our server Abby was wonderful! So kind and attentive, and when there was one issue with a drink she corrected it immediately.The fries and calamari were good.We went on a Sunday night which meant football playing LOUD over the speakers, including referee whistles (legit painful). We enjoyed the music during the commercial breaks!

Atmosphere was inviting. Food was taste, drinks was worth the sip. The back sitting area has a view of the river, perfect for that after work ambience. Music and T.V entertainment galore.

Was curious about this place for a while. First. The guys helping everyone park were very polite and friendly. Security was also lovely. The issue was with whoever that was checking bags. We got there at around 1AM (so Friday night into Saturday morning) and there was a male at the door checking IDs as well as a female checking bags. The male was very nice and welcoming. The female was awful. She was rude and condescending. Needless to say, we are no longer curious.

Cool place to chill lots of pretty women and pretty good food. The liquor isnt watered down which is a major plus and they have a better variety than Barcode.

Update: Visited today in 2024. Pleasantly surprised. Brunch Menu is limited but choices were good and looked like the photo. 90 Min Bottomless Mimosas so you can get LIT. Server was relatively attentive. DJ after 3 and decent spot to host an event.Def checked the bill and it was accurate but charge more for cc.2020:The Food was good but reason for the 3 stars is because not only the waiter did not give me an itemized bill, he added a drink. AND reason for that was to up his gratuity which I didnt notice was included to the bill so I tipped on top up that. When I asked for the itemized bill because the total looked a bit high for what we had I noticed the extra drink so he gave me cash for that but what I still didnt notice was the already added gratuity. So please check your bills he pretty much got $23 tip on a $50 something bill.

Attempted to here after a show at the NJPAC.Pulled up at midnight and asked to Pay the Valet $10 to park onsite. Place looked empty and want to charge for parking? Especially since they don’t know there is no street parking in the area. Poor business model decision and a non starter in my opinion.

This place was awesome. I had an amazing night. My birthday was awesome and angel was great. She was super attentive and made sure i had an amazing time the entire time from start to finish. I did run into a couple of issues as far as the size of my vip which could have been spaced better. I was a little disappointed However angel made sure to accommodate me by moving me and I appreciate how helpful Management was with accommodating me even when i was difficult. Food was AMAZING every dish I had was great the lemon pepper salmon was the best thing I tried. If they added buffalo dip to the menu i would have been even more blown away lol just a suggestion. I did order a few mixed cocktails they were pretty decent. Over all 10 out of 10 lit21 is definitely a vibe and I will be back.

Definitely a 30 and younger crowd as well as on the more ratch…there will be a fight, side. Security is pretty agressive and kinda worse than TSA. They also take your picture like customs. DJ is literally all over the place to please everyone but the Spanish speaking music gets played more than the rest. Drinks are made with that electronic nipple measuring thingy so weak and expensive. Nice TV’s though

Lit21 was...well, LIT!!We went for happy hour, so we didnt get to explore their entrees, but I highly recommend the nachos and wings. They were delicious!! Their sandwiches are huge, and the drinks were also pretty darn good... even the pina colada that I ordered 2 of. And dont be fooled by the outside of the space... we were given a tour, and the venue is technically 5 venues in one. Very cute for a birthday party or girls night out. And though its not my thing, they have hookah.

I paid a lot of money to celebrate new years Eve my friends and I paid 120.00 each someone had taken our spot then they gave us another one that people took over. It was to over crowdedIt was my worst experience in this place . And its my first time and definitely my last. Ill never return again. I honestly feel like I just got robbed SMH.
