I had an incredible time at Abigail’s]! From the moment I walked in, the energy was electric and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that everyone felt taken care of. The music was top-notch, with a great mix of hits that kept the dance floor packed all night. The atmosphere was vibrant and stylish, making it the perfect backdrop for a memorable evening. If you’re looking for a fantastic night out, Abigail’s is definitely the place to be. Highly recommended!
I went to Abigail over the weekend with friends. We paid a cover charge of $30. The music and vibe was lit and we had a decent time. I gave it 3 stars because I got one mixed drink (tequila +juice) at the bar and found myself having an allergic reaction around my mouth and throat. I assumed that maybe I was allergic to the food I had during dinner prior. Turns out, another girl I met in DC said she had an allergic reaction around her mouth at Abigail after drinking tequila! She thought maybe she grew an allergy to tequilas. I honestly think Abigail should change the brand of tequila they are supplying now. Something tells me other people will have a similar experience there.
Abigail in DC is a gem! The music is always on point, with DJs that know how to keep the energy alive all night long. My friends and I love their drinks, not to mention their free Espresso Martini Nights for the ladies. No matter when you go the crowd is always fun and lively, making it easy to have a great time whether youre with friends or meeting new people. If youre looking for a night out in DC that combines elegance, good vibes, and unforgettable memories, Abigail is the place to be!
The experience was horrible from the door. My friend and I were charged $25 pp even though we were meeting someone in VIP. We got to the VIP section and had to go all the way to the bar to request a hookah person to attend to our section. Lastly, when we finally received the hookah it was not properly put together as we barely had and smoke come out when we hit it.Wish I could give 0 stars.
Great experience! Will definitely party there again. Good music and good drinks. Open Bar on Fridays is a must attend.
Highly recommend!! Top celebs and Djs. Best bottle service in DC they are very attentive I had an amazing time there will definitely come back.
Absolute chaos. This club is a disaster. Overpacked, understaffed, and a total lack of security. No bottles in sight. Steer clear unless you enjoy being robbed with an $80 cover and crammed into a sweaty mess with no semblance of order. Getting a section is a waste unless you enjoy throwing your money into the trash can. Avoid this place like the plague. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.
The place to be- amazing DJs and celebrity hosts on a regular basis. The hottest bartenders and bottle girls in the city!
I havent been to Abigail as a club in over 2 years. But I just went to La Boem held at Abigail last Saturday. It was a fun time! I think pricing was right for an experience like this. Bottle service was pricy but it always is at a club and for sure in a major city. I seen poor reviews about the entertainment, none of it was over the top fabulous but it was entertaining and kept our table enjoying ourselves and interacting. The downside was the brunch set up. The tables were poorly placed, oversold, the tables themselves were a bad pick for the space. The food was mediocre but for the price I was satisfied, dont come here for a bougie atmosphere. Be prepared to let yourself be free, watch others be free and no phones so no evidence 😉.
Review of Abigail Nightclub, Washington D.C., Date: February 10th, 2024 10:50 pm - 11:20 pmDuring a recent visit to Abigail Nightclub in Washington D.C., my group and I encountered an issue that significantly detracted from our experience. We approached the bar area managed by a bartender named Darlette, as informed by the manager, A.G. Despite our polite attempts to gain her attention, including raising our hands and calling out to her, Darlette seemingly dismissed us multiple times.Surrounding patrons received prompt service; however, our efforts were met with indifference. At a louder attempt for communication—considering the clubs noisy environment—Darlette responded unfavorably, accusing us of disrespect. This interaction led to a refusal of service, with Darlette stepping away and remaining idle, further escalating our discomfort.Feeling marginalized, we patiently waited and eventually received service from another bartender, to whom we expressed our gratitude through generous tipping. I later voiced our concerns to the manager, A.G., who engaged with Darlette. The resolution offered seemed unsatisfactory as Darlette continued to express disdain openly, undermining the professionalism expected in such establishments. This experience has left us feeling unfairly treated, potentially due to racial biases, casting a shadow over our visit. The lack of effective resolution and the apparent disregard for respectful customer service have led us to decide against returning to Abigail Nightclub. We hope this feedback prompts a reevaluation of customer service training and sensitivity, ensuring a welcoming environment for all patrons.
It’s always a fun time at Abigail, you never know what celebrity you get to meet.
Would never step foot in this place ever. Five of us went out Saturday night to celebrate. We reserved a vip table for 5. When we got there our spot was so small we asked to seat somewhere else. The manager told me if I needed a bigger spot we would have to pay the 1k for it which we did. But oh boy we should have left the place all together. People were trafficking over to our spot all night. On multiple occasions I asked to speak with the manager no one showed up. The next day the manager Mike decides to call. I expressed my concerns which fell into death ear. But if you re looking for a nice vip spot to hang out as a small group do not set foot into that dumpster. Nothing but bad service and a waste of money. We made the best of it since we were already there but would not ever set foot and would not ever recommend.
HORRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT. Security is so disrespectful and discriminatory. They assumed because our purses were large (they were just medium Telfars) that we’d be stealing the bottles that we BOUGHT, so they held our bags hostage in a closet. They told us that they have to hold our bags but aren’t responsible for them if someone goes missing while they’re in the closet that THEY put them in. We bought a section and they didn’t tell us it was in the back portion of the club where NO ONE is at so everything started off super scammy from the beginning because they don’t disclose where the sections are that you are buying, which is misleading. The back section of the club is blocked off by a wall so you aren’t even apart of the main portion of the club. We ordered a bottle of DON JULIO and Casamigos. The waitress bought us PATRON instead of DON Julio (which were 2 different prices) and charged our card TWICE, thinking we wouldn’t notice. The club is small and cramped, and the music absolutely sucks. I do NOT suggest spending money in this place.
I love coming here espcially on Saturdays for their Afrobeats parties
Went here with some friends for the DC Bar crawl during this halloweek-end. All was fun, we got our first drinks until my friend started acting funny. My friend ended up getting roofied by some guy posing to be a securitys officer and tried to Kick her out. Then he got mad and told actual security she was throwing up everywhere and kicked us out too. Be careful.
Great venue, great management s/o Susie!
After attending this venue with my very diverse friend group I was rudely met with a bouncer who was not fond of my friends life choices. My friend is a part of the transgender community and the bouncers outside were very unfriendly and unwelcoming with her being there. One rude bouncer did nothing but call my friend a f****t and tell us that we could not enter. We did nothing but stand in line and offer cover but we were met with nothing but hate and terrible service. Would never recommend and will never return.
The nightclub itself was cool with good music. the sections are separated from the bar so you can only do on the dance floor if you’ve got a section. drinks were expensive also .
Read the reviews before you go. $20 per person cover charged for a completely empty venue. The only people in there were the staff. No one was dancing or grooving, everyone on their phones taking snaps for the gram. I understand charging a cover if it’s bumpin, but if there’s no party there should be no cover. Seems like a front for laundering cause how else could they afford pay all that staff to fake a party?
Avoid, avoid, avoid dining in the dark. It was incredibly poorly run (posing multiple safety hazards) with awful food. The place looked seedy upon entering, so we were worried from the start of the experience. My wife is gluten-free, which was noted in the reservation and we told the server at the beginning. Yet, they served her a flour pastry dish meant to be eaten with a fork and knife. Talk about an unbelievable fail. Youre dining in the dark, so you cant tell what youre about to eat, so she didnt know until she had taken a bite. They didnt even comp her anything. She woke up the next morning not feeling well, which is worse than how she would feel if it had just been from the small bite she took, so were pretty sure there was gluten in other food they served her. Thank goodness she doesnt have a more serious allergy! The service was terrible. It took forever to get drinks and the food. The food was really bad. Everyone at our table agreed that most of it tasted worse than if we had heated up a bunch of microwavable dinners. The darkness accentuated the bad taste. The main dish was one slice of eggplant parm, not even meat, and yet the meal somehow cost $100. We were starving by the end. Then the kicker... No one came to get you at the end of the meal and they didnt turn on the lights, so everyone needed to try to stumble through the pitch dark to get out of the eating area, which even involved maneuvering over steps and around metal bars. Insane! This dinner is a total scam and safety hazard! Avoid for your health!
They took advantage of my young son and his friends who this was their first time doing a table. They kept charger him and never even said the right name. I wished my son wld told me instead trying to pay for the table that he didn’t request. Kept paying money just bc they said so and never even showed him the right name on the receipt. Luckily i work For the senate and will have my people locate the anc and see if we can get this club a look at and investigation. He will need his money back. Please kept watch them They will take advantage.
Attended this weekend during the Halloween Bar Crawl. Great, if not small location with good drinks and banging music. Had a great time and would like to revisit when not so bust on a regular night. Stayed here the longest of any club/bar during the crawl and had a blast. Id recommend!
I tagged along to my stepfathers 30th birthday party, absolutely atrocious venue. I wanted a cool night out and the ability to bond with my moms boyfriend but those opportunities were squandered by the stuffy environment, the lack of customer service, and the fact that I had to pay $20 for a water. It was hotter than the gates of hellfire itself in there, so naturally I had to hydrate. I shelled out $140 dollars just to not be dehydrated, I hoped to attend college one day, but Abigail ensured I keep working in the mines.
What a dump. The employees look so miserable. I went up to the bar just to get a simple water for a friend and I, and they tried to charge me $23 dollars? Id drink the toilet water. Went here for my buddys 30th birthday, I will never step foot inside of this hellfire again. If you are thinking about going here, think again.
DON’T GO TO THE ABIGAIL! As Howard Students we decided to patronize a local black venue. We arrived in a group of 12, 5 gentlemen and 7 ladies. Security let the first 2 ladies in for free. From there, the night went down hill. Although we arrived while the venue was still empty, the older gentleman at security decided after the 2 ladies, “everybody is paying $20.” When we asked if we could use a card or if they had an atm, we were directed to the bank across the street. One member of the group pointed out how the policy makes no sense, if we have to pay, there should be a way to pay on site. We were told at that point, “you don’t have to come in then.”The policy felt sketchy and very discretionary. Please patronize black venues, however save your money, time, and energy. DON’T GO TO THE ABIGAIL!
Please READ the review!!! My friend and I went to this club and it was very empty! The only people presents were the employees. They charged $20 per a person only for the place to empty on Halloween weekend. One thing we should have done was to READ the reviews first. I wish I could give a negative ten star.
The worst birthday ever they overcharge said they didn’t receive the money and it came out of my account I will never ever come back to this club in I will be getting my money back thanks to my bank play with somebody else
Excellent venue and atmosphere, excellent bottle service
Dont do it. $12 beers, two shots of aguardiente antioqueño for $40. For reference, you can find the bottle for $18.
Ive now been on both an average weekend night and New Years, and it felt like a complete rip-off both times. Cover is always too high. On NYE, they promised an open bar and appetizers, but all they had was cognac. Other drinks are ridiculously over-priced. They close lots of space for VIP tickets, and didnt open the dance floor all night on New Years. Many far better clubs within a couple blocks.
I’m an out of towner who went for a brunch party and had a blast! It was a great time and there were at least 3 birthday parties there that day. It was clean and staff were fun!
Everything was good until the DJ. Honestly, pregame before you get here for brunch. They dont pay attention to the customers or what they want to here. Managers and staff take your request and throw them away. The music is so bad it throws you off and makes you want to go to the bar and drink your sorrows away. So! Pre game before you get here so you can ignore how bad the music is.
Absolutely horrible place! My daughter took me there for my 50th birthday and it was the worst experience I have ever had. The staff were rude, drinks were overpriced, and the manager cursed me out in front of my poor daughter who started crying dreadfully all because I asked where the bathroom was.
Would give 0 if I could. Bad management reaks from this place. Horrible vibes, place tries every trick in the book to run you up with an extremely mid venue. Much better places 1 min away in DuPont, don’t waste your time going here.
Abigails was decent. First time going there this past weekend and unless you have a table reserved its nothing more than a straight walk from the entrance to the bar. The space to socialize is the path along the bar and straight towards the back to the restrooms. To the right after entering is more spacious but reserved for VIPs and blocked off by ropes. Still a decent spot to hit up for a night out
TOTAL SCAM. DO NOT COME HERE. They advertise open bar Fridays ITS A LIE. They are only willing to give you a ticket for ONE free drink. On top of that, we came on a night where they randomly claimed we have a special dj and arent giving free drinks and refused to give us our free drinks. The bar is empty, has no one, and not worth coming.
Absolutely horrendous venue. I took my buddy here for his 30th, and boy oh boy, I cannot even fathom how this dumpster fire of a nightclub is still open. If you’re looking to have a good time, look elsewhere.
The bar is nice looking and really modern, but there is one staff member who believes he is GOD and kicked me out of the DJ booth after 3-4 hrs of rocking the joint then tell me to see him outside and had My Wife, Friends and other staff members get my DJ equipment out of the club! Oh and he works at the door at St. Yves!
$20 water?? Water better be from the fountain of youth itself. Terrible venue, terrible management, ruined my 30th birthday party.
I was just there on Sunday and bottle, girls bad they don’t even know customer service means all they care about is taking bottle out and u want me to tip u is crazy, please work on that but everything was good also the dj littt
Wish I could give less than 1 star. Horrible place. Bouncers are rude and the club is awful. Would 100% blame on bouncers judgement!!
Security was rude and inconsiderate. Wouldnt let me back in when I was outside and discovered my debt card was missing nor to let me get my sweater from the coat rank that was just 3ft from the entrance even while it was freezing cold outside.
Came for a holiday party costing $50 a head, venue cut off the open bar half way through in an announcement then service proceeded to be terrible. Wouldn’t suggest booking this place in the future
Great place; very lively with good music and bar drinks. It gets busy after 1am, so dont get scared if you come earlier and it is empty!
$30 cover fee and it was lame im never going back. i understand 20 but 30 tho..
Buyer beware. Tickets bought through Eventbrite is a scam. Cover charge is overpriced. Venue is a joke.
Its for ages 21 through 30
A horrible place for horrible people.
I spilled my drink. 1 star.
