OYO Hotel Columbia SC West

Went there to visit from out of town, this place is a complete disaster, I guess for 65 bucks you cant expect much. My aunt had dirty blankets on the bed disgusting shower curtain. The housekeeper refuse to do anything. They were hanging out at the housekeeper room all night loud. Her toilet was broken hours before anyone actually came to fix it. The refrigerator was so nasty the microwave even worse. they refuse to give her refund after seeing how much of a dump the place was. They dont care at all just give them they 65 bucks and they are satisfied. There is no housekeeping, and the pictures def dont look near, close, resemble the ones they posting online.

I stayed in this motel for a grand total of 5 minutes. I made the reservation on booking.com, then went to check in, and was told there was only one room left and it was smoking. I needed somewhere to sleep, so I said Id try it out. The room smelled shockingly bad, though. The floor was very dirty, the bedspread was full of suspicious stains, there was a giant pile of loose tobacco on the night stand, there were zero toiletries or even tp, the bathtub was visibly dirty, and there were cockroaches scurrying around the bathroom...Ive lived out of a car and a tent before - so Im not high maintenance. But, this was just too disgusting, I couldnt go through with it. I informed the front desk I could not stay there and they said they didnt control the refund - that booking.com did. I contacted booking.com and sent them a video I took documenting the issues, and they said they needed to contact the motel for a refund to be issued. I called again awhile later after receiving nothing, and they said OYO had ignored all their calls and emails regarding the matter and that was all they could do apparently. OYO, you owe me $50 buddy. I will never forget. [PS I know you look at the pictures and think, oh well that doesnt look bad - I dont know what kind of filters they have on there but that is not what it looks like at all, it looks like somewhere people die daily of overdoses]

This hotel was an absolute nightmare. There was no clean towels in the room. The bathroom door had no door knob and therefore was a massive hole in the door. We had some man knock on the door at 5pm claiming to be housekeeping which was extremely odd. We didnt answer the door and a few minutes later the man came back. We didnt feel safe after this especially since there was no peep hole in the door to see who was knocking. The furniture was old and stained and disgusting. My husband and I didnt even stay through the night and ending up leaving because we didnt feel safe.

I would give zero stars if I could for the room and hotel itself. Management is a different story and was nice enough to let us stay the night and pay in the morning because we thought we booked it until Thursday morning. That was the only good perk of the hotel. The room was clean-ish when we walked in. However, when we walked in and the TV was just off the wall and barely standing up on the dresser, the wifi barely worked, and there was no microwave, the fridge barely stayed cool, the shower head was missing, a light was hanging down from the wall, and an outlet was stuck out of the wall. We also had a neighbor who would yell randomly at nothing and play music very loudly at 2-3 am. The next day is when I saw all of the issues come out. German roaches were everywhere, my daughter owns an bassinet that is an electronic and we might have to toss that because bugs have followed us from the hotel with our electronics. The last two days I saw bugs in the fridge. It reeked of a musty mold or roach smell. I could not stay in the room during the day due to the bugs. I also woke up with bites that looked like bed bug bites, however I never saw bed bugs in the room itself, so it might have just been mosquito bites. Definitely wont be staying here again. And lets not forget when I tried to take a shower at night, bugs were crawling in and out of the shower. We never got fresh towels from the cleaning lady when we asked. I also told the people at the front that we had bugs everywhere and they acted shocked and said they would send the cleaning lady up, however that never happened. We also saw hookers roaming around the hotel and a lot of guests there are drug addicts. Really disappointing hotel. I dont know how this hotel is still open.

Definitely won’t be staying again. While the room was clean and everything was nice, the owner just walked into our room around 10 pm without any notice. The lock had been removed from the door previously, and he did not try to explain himself. The next week I had reserved a room, and he would not let us check in. He said there were no rooms available when we could clearly see half of the rooms were available. He did not offer a refund either. Most definitely will not be staying there again unless it’s under new management.

The office staff was polite. That is THE only good thing I can say about this establishment. The room itself was horrible. It was filthy, with large dead cockroaches littering the floor. The bathroom door was broken, and could be neither opened nor closed. The shower head was at chest level, and the shower stall itself leaked all over the floor. The smoke alarms were pulled off, leaving the wiring exposed. The sheets had large, yellow and brown stains all over them; I was afraid to even sleep on them. The plaster on the ceiling was flaking off. Im asthmatic, and requested a non-smoking room. The room not only smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, it set off my asthma. To add insult to injury, I was charged twice for a one night stay, and am now disputing the second charge with my bank. Avoid this place at all costs - you would be better off sleeping in the car!

Oh God no! Dont stay here this place is horrible! I made a reservation for 3 rooms for my family for 2 days and when i went to check in the guy in the front desk saw us and told us to go check out the rooms before we check in because he said we might not like them. So he gave us 3 key cards to the rooms. Dear God i should of taken pictures, all 3 of the rooms we dirty! The bed sheets, the floors, everything! We were afraid of going inside so we stayed by the door. The owner or whatever he was said he was going to give me a refund, since i booked thru orbitz i had to contact them. So the owner had to reply to the email they sent him in order to get my refund, he never did. I went back 2 times to tell him and he was mad everytime. I had to come back home so i couldnt go and tell him again. I never got my 350 dlls back, this was back in june 2021 and i still havent received my refund. If you try to call they never answer.

Had a reservation to stay multiple nights! Stayed before couple years ago no problem! This time, horrible! Never again! Checked out early because bugs and son bitten up bugs! Place is dirt! With what looks like second hand furniture!

I’ve never left a hotel before I’ve stayed in some nasty motel 6s but this one takes the cake. They didn’t even have the right toilet cover on the back part. Also everything had a layer of slime or grease on it even the bed was … damp. The smell is awful they need to just start from scratch here I think. Oh and no smoke detector and no outlet covers and lights not attached

First off, management is very nice and cooperative. The rooms look nothing like the pictures. I got one that had bedbugs. They wouldnt do a refund so they gave us another room. Both rooms SMELL TERRIBLY! The first had an UNBEARABLE smell that forced us to buy incense. The second room stinks but its manageable. The sheets are torn up and barely clean. Its evident housekeeping dont clean that well.

Rooms were nice for the price. Staff was friendly. However, in the middle of my 3 night stay I was asked to give a $100 cash deposit or leave. Now I had left my room in pristine condition every night. I did not have $100 cash so I was kicked out after 2 nights. Policies need to be made clear at check in. I dont think I was treated fairly because no other guest was asked for a cash deposit as I stood there and watched in the office. Definitely wouldnt use OYO again.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. We immediately left after walking in. There was blood stains all over the bed sheets and roaches scattering everywhere. I went to check the bed for bedbugs and roaches were everywhere under the bed as well as mold and garbage under there. I have stayed in some shady places before and it didnt bother me but this was too much. Never again. This place should be shut down and burned.

I booked my stay for 3 nights. When I arrived to checked in the front desk told me the reservation is only for two nights and need to pay extra $50 if I want to stay 3 nights even after showing the receipt of the booking. The room was filthy the blankets dirty and the towels are black. Cops were here all night. Didn’t get any rest. Front desk is not answering my calls. Never going back here again. Do not recommend.

Super sketchy. Room was filthy. Nothing like the pictures they have posted. The blankets were stained up. The door wouldnt latch all the way. And to top it off there were cockroaches. We left within an hour and went to Hampton inn. Im not even sure how this place is allowed to even stay open. Dont waste your money!

Room was absolutely disgusting. Filthy. Blood on the blankets burn holes in blankets and sheets, cigarette left on floor by bed. Someone’s prescription bag was left in the drawer. Bathroom was gross. Room had an awful smell. (even though it was a non smoking room!)We checked in and about 15 minutes later we checked out. The Manager Tierra was very friendly and very helpful when it came to getting a full refund. ( she is the only reason I’m giving two stars)

I booked this hotel at the end of the night then headed over. Once there there were two other people waiting as no attendant was there, no one answered the bell, not sure it worked and there was no answer when I called or the other guests called. I had a plane to catch in 5 hours so I had to get another hotel. I called Priceline which I booked through who could also not get through to them but I was not able to get my money back because they put me as a no show which isnt factual. I basically got ripped off and will never recommend this hotel or ever book with them again. Beware people!

The room I stayed in was in very poor condition - roaches, bed bugs, smelled of mold, holes in the walls, didnt look clean, TV didnt have much signal. The only positive was the sweet man working the office, very courteous and helpful when needed.

I rented 2 rooms and this place was super creepy. Roaches, dirty bedding, stained walls, no complimentary cups, old residential refrigerators, broken wooden moulding hidden under sinks, decor and window dressings that looked like someone lived there and they left it as is when they moved out. I even found a crab Rangoon under the table that looked years old. DO NOT waste your money... its cheap for a reason.

I WISH I COULD LEAVE NO STARS. The room was not correct, I booked 2 beds but got one. Bed bugs. Stained mattress that looks like someone died or at least passed out and everything came out of the. Holes in doors and disgusting and broken furniture. PLEASE for the love of anything, do not give them your money or business. This place needs to shut down!

This place is not as bad as some of these reviews are saying!! Some people obviously have had everything handed to them by there parents have never really Been to nor SEEN a bad hotel... it is an older building and there are some minor issues but by far is this a bad place to stay!! The owners/management are more that they also live there in the property in rooms similar to all the other rooms. If it were a bad as the reviews are saying I highly doubt they would do that. Over all for the price you cant beat it... its a convenient location the people who have lived there for a while are some of the nicest people that will do anything to help you out they can, the man at the desk once you get to know him will help you in anyway he can! (Atvtge end of the day it Is his way of making money sobits business!)I love it there you will too if you werent raised with a golden spoon in your mouth!!

***SCROLL THROUGH ATLEAST 15 PICS TO SEE REALITY***the price is def what you may pay for. saw on one site, that it was as low as $45. needed a place and im cheap, on a friday. there was a festival and everything was ridiculously robbery expensive and the cheap places had no vacancy. called them at noon and said price would ve $51 but couldnt check in until 3. showed up minutes after 3 and was told price went up $15, so ended up paying $67.change. front desk was friendly and entertaining, totally joked around with her. THE ROOMS WERE AWFUL AND A DEATH TRAP! the lights and fan in the wall were exposed, the holes were patched with literally a paper towel sticking out of it. the AC/heat and water were good... if you want to be cheap like me, literally expect nothing because youll get just above that. bed was comfy but dont want to know the history of each room because its would tell numerous horror stories!

You get what you pay for. $38 isn’t much for a room so I didn’t expect much. If you don’t understand this however. This place is gross. Room 116 is in total disrepair. Everything is broken. There’s no tv. There’s no WiFi. There’s no soap or cups. The towels are dirty. I currently have my hammock hanging off of the tv mount and door because I’m not sleeping in the bed. The really nice guy at the desk told me they sprayed by the door for bugs so their might be an oder. There’s an oder, and the floor is covered in spray I can see it around all the furniture. This place is a dump but 38 bucks is a fair price for the night. Cheers

First when I got there the receptionist told me they were out of full beds so hed have to give me a king size bed which was $6 more. But in my confirmation text it showed I had a king sized bed reservation made so I had to pay it if I wanted a room which I had already payed the for the room before I got there. But it was the check OUT service that was terrible. I needed a room and got one here at Oyo and when I got up for work the next morning the office was closed and said someone would be there at 8. My boyfriend went on to work because he could not be late but luckily I had a job that was a little more forgiving so I stayed and waited until 8 to check out. But at 8 no one was in the office and I tried calling numerous times, the only number that would answer was the reservation desk and the extension for rooms that were already payed for was a dead extension and made the phone hang up immediately so they were no help at all. I finally got to check out at 9 which made me much later for work than I originally told my boss. Absolutely terrible I should have demanded my money back but I didnt have the time or energy to argue with anyone

This place is bad and cant say for all rooms but mine! I ask them to take of problems in room, they wouldnt. called me racist for asking them to fix and for me getting an attitude for staff not wanting to do there job and tell me I can leave early but no refund for Bad service i was nice and respectfulto them I had my kids here and they say roaches broken door knob isnt a problem and no channels look at pictures they say a lot,but if you stay you can be the judge pictures say a lot

Refrigerator hadnt been cleaned out had spoiled food inside. Toilet stopped up and nasty looking. They did reimburse me my money after I was told no more rooms was available

The rooms are disgusting, housekeeping has poor work ethics , and theres rats in the building. We tried to inform staff of the issue and we were told (verbatim) to Get the hell out. Im completely appalled, dissatisfied, and disgusted with this hotel. For warning: Do not rent from this place. The only reason it got a star is because it has a full refrigerator. ,

Booked online through a third-party website, but the front desk was unable to find the reservation. Contacted the third-partys customer support and they stated everything was confirmed and was going to contact the hotel. The front desk wouldnt answer their phone, so I offered my phone instead. Front desk reluctantly obliged, but was very rude to customer service and would not divulge any helpful information (fax number to confirm reservation, managers name, or even an alternate telephone number). I offered to show my receipt of payment for the booking and confirmation number, but the front desk said he couldnt accommodate. Luckily, customer service was able to cancel the reservation, give us a refund, and book a considerably better hotel for the inconvenience.*edit: Im also fairly confident the front office doubles as an apartment, as most of it is restricted for private use.

This the worst hotel Ive ever had to deal with. He is claiming that I was a no show but I showed up and he told me I couldnt book a room because there were no available rooms for the size I needed. He has taken 200$+ away from a homeless family. Hopefully his children didnt suffer with a horrible excuse of a father for him to LIE to the travel company. He literally spoke to us and told us to beware of scams. AND HE IS SCAMMING US. HOW CAN WE BE A NO SHOW IF YOU TOLD US THE LAST ROOM GOT BOOKED.

They service was horrible, I paid 60 that I didnt get back when I was there less the 20 mins hadnt done nothing in the room. They have bed bugs I have videos and more. The man tried to call it a roach after he picked it up off the bed. Then threaten to call thr police on me because I wanted my money back reporting to bbb.

So I stayed here with my kids for 2 weeks.. Wasnt the cheapest at 280 a week or the most expensive either. The front desk service was great Mr Dee and his wife are nice ..House keeper Patty was real sweet and helpful just seemed like she had way too much to do alone, so at times things were Late or didnt get done.. Room have been redone but wifi is horrible the further you get away from the office.. Over all if I were in a bad spot I would def go back!!

Front desk staff and the housekeeper i met were friendly and helpful. The motel is ok giving the fact of the low price of rooms means almost anyone can afford to stay there including rowdy obnoxious drunks which leads to cops being there quite often. The motel is conveniently located close to alot of things . I just spent 4 days there and 3 off the days cops were there for fighting. Its not a five star hotel which y u pay a low payment for a room. Overall it was okay.

The owner is a money hungry a**, the rooms are nasty and smell horrible, there’s ROACHES literally everywhere and black mold (you can smell it even) This is the most disgusting low down dirty hotel I have ever been to. The maintenance worker is on something and constantly has people in and out, most likely seems to be a drug dealer as well as a user. DO NOT put yourself in this situation. There’s plenty of hotels near that are just as cheap and WAYYYY nicer.

Front lobby smells like rotten garbage, they did not have my reservation in their system I waited an hour and still nothing. I just gave up and left. Look at the positive reviews, all of the 5 stats are from people that have only posted reviews about OYO hotels.

Horrible place. Booked a room with 2 double beds online for the family trip and when arrived on the day of reservation. They immediately started to use predatory pricing tactic to charge double times the booked rate. (See Wikipedia for such issue and more privacy issues.) I still got charged for full amount and they refused to process refund even though I did not sign any paper and they are the one that denied the good reservation, where Ive shown the printed copy. For the writen communication, all you get is the automated lame apology emails when you write an email and they foward your email around different people and asking for the same information. Most importantly, many of the postiive google reviews are from the same countrymen and there isnt too many by Mr.Smith or Mrs.MacDonald. Please go and see for yourself: Google Reviews and Wikipedia. Save your time and go next door, the Holiday Inn for extra $20. Such poor experiece will ruin your day, week and month. Free ice cream is not going to masqurade this shady business practice.

The room was dirty, dingy, no mirror, dirty towels, pillows were dirty with dog hair on them and bed was not stable, and the microwave was filthy. This is a disgrace as far as a business and this should not be listed as an option on any of the find hotel sites

BED BUG ALERT! Blood stains on box springs and mattress covers. Even found a live one coming to get me. Showed front desk only to get accused of making it up for a free shower. Also no ice, cups or coffee maker.

What ever you do DONT book a room here. I reserved my room & paid for it at 12:47 now I have to look for another room for me and my four children be they didnt have a room available that I already paid for. The over night window is a JOKE with poor customer service.

Dermin and his wife are fantastic and just a pleasure. If I have any concerns or complications, Dermin quickly takes me into consideration and works with me so that everyone is happy. Its an affordable rate and great friendly owners. Extended stay is by far my favorite hotel and I plan to move right back into it asap

I arrived to check in but manager screamed at me & demanded I leave because they canceled all prepaid reservations due to rooms being flooded. This is a horrible property.

Yes its not the best of all place but Mr and Mrs Dee do the best they can they treat everyone as family and they are there for u if they can..I was in a bad situation and Mr and Mrs Dee and other people who stayed at the hotel was there to help me through my bad time I dont believe I would have made it through it without there help Im not at the hotel anymore but I still go back to get a room or just to visit everyone or call and talk to Mrs Dee I just love her she also loves my kids she enjoys seeing them everytime its so hard nowadays to find nice caring people who will help in bad times Mr and Mrs Dee will always be in my heart and if they ever need help Im there to help how ever I can!!!!!!

I lived there for 3 years. The people that owns it are very good people and you can feel like family. I still get a room there every so often just to visit my friends.

This is the worst hotel that I have ever booked . upon arrival the recptionist didnt have our reservation and rudly exited the desk and sat on his couch turned on the t.v and turned the volume up . I wouldnt suggest this to my worst enemy!!!

Its ok, not the greatest of places though, wouldnt be my first choice of a hotel to stay in, some of the rooms are nice but others are a little less than impressing to put it nicely, I wouldnt suggest staying here if you drive a really nice car or have expensive stuff to carry in if you know what I mean.

Worthless hotel chain to stay at. Booked a room got to the hotel and they had no idea about our reservation called the customer service sent us to another location only for them to tell us the hotel was already booked. Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else to stay this company is about as worthless as they come

No telephones, filthy rooms,high traffic and there were bugs EVERYWHERE! The staff were very friendly and helpful however just as filthy as the room.
