Food was ok. The menu is really about fusion so font come looking for authentic Japanese food. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and there was a nice late nite vibe. I would absolutely recommend the torro with caviar. Real decadence on a plate. However the flashing light bulb was just silly in its presentation and made the dish feel kitch. The other dishes we had were meh in my opinion. A late place to eat.
If you are looking for fun don’t go here, besides it being very boring during New Year’s Eve. One of the staff members was very rude and racist towards us. He was a short and buff, I’m pretty sure he was middle eastern and had long hair and wore a hat during the New Year’s Eve party. Fire him immediately he is scaring away your costumers, making the bar lose money.
I love this place. The food is amazing. The prices are astronomical. The unibrows are hilarious. They have the best Sunday night quiet night this side of Doheny.
Use to go here all the time. Had an amazing dancing experience. Went back recently at 1:20am. They wouldn’t even let me upstairs. They said I had to buy a table… at 1:20am? Crazy that my friends were up there and promoters. Never coming back here would advise the same for anyone wanting to dance at a club. There are many other places on sunset to go. It’s not worth your time.
Loved every inch of the Doheny. From decor to cuisine, everything is tasteful and elegant. Was the perfect spot to host (and impress) old and new friends for a birthday dinner, followed by salacious dancing and drinks in the private club upstairs. Simply perfect. Thank you for making my night a dream!!
I love anything about this place. My dining experience... always good.... its kind of like tapas style. I like to have dinner here with my hubby for our date nights and then after, we go upstairs to dance a little and drink a little more. We love the music! The DJs are always bringing it! Sometimes our kids meet up with us upstairs.... after 11pm. Fun! Fun! Fun!
DO NOT RECOMMEND: NYE PARTYVenue was RIDICULOUSLY crowded.I had gone down stairs for a moment to have some personal space. When I came back the bouncer at the stairs was only letting women up as I was waiting to get BACK upstairs. Short little balding white guy (definitely had a small man complex). My wife was standing in front of me and he allowed her to go upstairs. She was holding my hand and he physically tried pulling our hands apart in an attempt to split us up and make me stay downstairs. Let’s just say that didn’t fly.Since this was New Years Eve, they should have sold a limited amount of tickets so it wasn’t so crowded. There was way too many people in the venue and probably another 70 people waiting outside. A fire hazard for sure. I’ve been to many similar events in Chicago that were much much better because they weren’t overcrowded like this was.
On July 6th I got food poisoning from the tuna here. I was hospitalized. The upstairs restrooms had no toilet paper or paper towels. I had to go to the bar and request napkins to dry my hands each time. Ive tried emailing, calling and messaging on social media and no one responds. This is irresponsible and the health department should check in here.
I went there on a Saturday night. The short guy on the first floor before you could get to upstairs was so rude and unfriendly! They let so many people go in countlessly, including their friends and friends of friends. But Even if 10 girls go in straight, they dont let a guy in unless they rip you off first to pay $100! You guys need to be more flexible and act logically!
Very nice place ... but really the up selling is too much pressure , the waiter can not pass every 5 min ask is everything is ok do you want something more we couldn´t have a conversation without beeing cut every 5 min literally every 5 min sometimes less.
Paid 20.00 to get in. Was ignored by the bartender as he was texting on his phone while i stood waiting to be acknowledged. When I mentioned it to another employee the bartender began yelling at me that he was texting his daughter shoving his phone in my face while he continued to yell.Completely unprofessional. Will not be back.
We were a party of 8 for a birthday dinner. The food was average, service pretty slow but the waitress was very pleasant. What was completely shocking and bizarre is what happened to the special birthday cake we brought. So the cake was large (should serving 20 people with generous slices). They brought it out, and as soon as birthday boy blew out the candles took it away and we never saw it again. No one even took a picture they took it away so fast. Than we each got a PAPER THIN cake slices (imagine bakery cake slice and cut that in 4). Ok, more for later right? OH NO.We had table upstairs and asked to pick up the rest of the cake at the end of the night. When we came downstairs at the end, they gave us cake box with barely 1/5 of the cake left! Note the cake was custom ordered (using only organic products) and was expensive. What did they eat the rest?? So BIZARRE and UNACCEPTABLE.No really who does thatf?
Super bourgeois place, wouldnt let us upstairs to meet our party. Even tried slipping a $50 to one of the guards and was rejected, while an all-male party of 3 was let in upstairs right after because he knew the bouncer. Typical Hollywood club.
The salmon was perfectly prepared, not overcooked. The wine was lovely. The apple dessert was like Id never tasted before. Great experience!!
Food was the bomb - I still cant get it out of mind! The pizza- seemingly so simple, but so hard to get done well. Spinach salad a must. But whats up with a sharing restaurant that doesnt have sharing utensils? I was at a table of six and they would just drop off various dishes and wed all look at one another. The waitress says they dont have enough ... huh?
Awful place, way too expensive. Terrible service, discriminatory processes. Racist, fatphobic, and predatory. Many underage drinkers and the club doesn’t seem like they even care.
Go here if you never lived in Manhattan when it was cool or if you want to see a crowded room 75% full of people who either dont live in LA or will move home within 6 months. If youve lived in Manhattan you will break out in hives.
Super fun atmosphere and great crowd, however it is pricey and the bouncers/rules of letting people in are super annoying.
The new brunch has this amazing Salmon Benedict. The dinner has the best brussel sprouts Ive ever had. They have a lounge upstairs on certain nights.
Great gang out spot. Gets busy buts its a hit or miss. So as always its up to ones liking. Nothing wrong ofcourse.
We went on a Saturday night it was great and the sapphire very friendly regarding the food I cannot express how much it was incredibly delicious and the serving was timely and onspot
They did not even have any Sauvignon Blanc, they were out lol. Asian looking Waitress had a little bit of an attitude too.
Trendy, crowded, energetic small plates hot spot. They must be doing something right, because despite the exorbitant prices (those small plates add up), this place is always packed.
This place always has great music. I prefer it during the week though as it gets pretty bougie and harder to get upstairs on the weekends.
What a blast. I danced till the feet hurt. The music was awesome and so was the atmosphere. Looks of good looking people
I was looking for a place to have a drink and be able to talk. And I found such place. Nice food, nice ambiance.
Not the place i was expected food was OK no morethe service was bad take forever even at the bar and it was empty \looks like the place and the employs are first and then the customersim sure they would last no more then a year
Beautiful bar, but very pretentious. Typical LA scene. There are way better places to go in LA for a fun night out.
This place is very upscale so if your looking to spend money on well crafted drinks or bottle service this is your place the chances you might see a celebrity are high
Hate this place.. over priced and bar closes early. Overrated, dont even waste your time. I would give 0 if I could.
Worst service ever! Employees are so rude, and they have so bad attitude to costumers. It was the worst night that I have ever had in LA with my brother and my boyfriend. So disappointed!!
The Bar manager. Rocks. The mixologist were freaken awesome. Well be missed
Great bar. I had so much fun having drinks and listening to some amazing live band..

Beautiful women, warm environment, tasteful vibes & a friendly staff.
Drinks are great. Crowd is fun. Upstairs is a blast.
Hate the art on the walls. I dont need nude objectified women with my cocktails.
Wait time as always extra 20-30 min dont order here with any delivery app/option.

Crowded, but thats a good thing when the people are fun!
They only let you in if you have no guys in your group, be aware
Most crowded place Ive ever been.
Cool spot. A bit pricey, but nice.
Not bad music can be better
Don’t go here. This is establishment is run by racists. It’s 2018. Spend your money elsewhere.
