Ive had mostly a positive experience with Massage Envy in West Lafayette over the years. However, I do not recommend booking with Rob. Every time Ive booked with him, he cancels at the last minute. I find it ironic that I have to cancel with 24 hours notice, or else I will be charged. However, the same standard doesnt apply to Rob when he cancels last minute. If it only happened once, I understand people get sick and/or unexpected things happen. But when it happens multiple times, and neither Rob nor Massage Envy does anything to compensate the customer with whom they already confirmed the appointment 48 hours prior, it does not reflect well on the business or on Rob.

I have been looking for a massage therapist after mine retired. I am very particular and Brad at massage Envy is excellent. He communicates well with his clients; determining what their needs are. He provides care for people interested in an overall reduction of stress massage and also knowledgeable with how to work with people that have injuries. The staff are so nice and that reminder call doesnt hurt! So happy to find a place and an experienced therapist! Thank you.

If I sign a 12 month agreement and I pay said 12 months and cancel on the 13th month I am allowed to cancel and request a refund because i have reach the cessation of said terms of agreement.Well, Not here. Even if you carry out the terms of the agreement and decide to cancel, they will still continue to charge you.If you try to contact the owner (Susan) she will not respond, she does not call back, email back, or take the time to provide any information. She will go as far as having an alleged lawyer bully you into dropping the incident and not speaking out. I absolutely would not recommend doing business with this location and its owner.

The massages are decent and the staff is typically warm and friendly. There are locations across the nation, which makes it nice to use while traveling or if you move. The enironment is nice, but has somewhat of a commercial feel. The staff are very professional and make you feel comfortable. Mostly a good experience, but you can probably find better massages from expert local massage therapists. My biggest issue with ME is the membership and corporate franchise policies. The membership is binding without a doctors note or moving 30 miles away from any location. I signed up for the membership when I was single, but I recently got married and was no longer able to afford the monthly membership. The only option I had was to freeze the account for up to 6 months, then I had to continue despite my financial inability and have had to make sacrifices in other areas to be able to afford it. I have little time for massages and have 6 left to use before I cancel so I dont lose them. I also cant gift them to my wife more than once every 6 months, so with this expensive payment, we cant even share the experience. I am finally about done with my membership and will be out of this contract.Only your home location can make changes or see your full account information. So after I moved, I had to do all account changes through paperwork by printing signings and scanning all the paperwork, which is very inconvenient. In my opinion you would be better off finding a local expert therapist and avoid this commercial franchise and binding contracts.

I had been several years back in to this location and didnt have a good experience from scheduling, to a last minute cancelation to the management. However today I got a very solid 90 min full body from a therapist and it was great from check in to departure. Recommend

I’ve been a member for over two years now and there’s not one time I’ve regretted it. The reception staff is always lovely and helpful to work with. Bradley is my regular guy and I always leave feeling so relaxed and rejuvenated at the same time. I highly recommend.

Since new management in the last year, this has been a great place. I previously quit going but heard there was new management and thought I give it a try again. I’ve since been very pleased with the friendliness and prompt service I’ve received. My massages have been very relaxing and the staff overall is very pleasant to deal with.

Ive visited several ME locations and the West Lafayette location is always a ray of sunshine to walk into! The front desk staff is so friendly and attentive. I feel like they really care about me as a person and my needs. I will definitely recommend this location to my friends and family and for anyone who could use a lift physically and mentally..... I really do think the staff cares and wants to help :)

NEVER AGAIN! While I was on summer break I called about a massage and they were able to get me in that same day - yay! While I was waiting another woman came in and insisted that she had an appointment scheduled - the same one that I was waiting for. I felt terrible but know that sometimes mistakes happen. The massage was great so I scheduled a stretch at the end of last month and planned to get a membership. When I showed up for my scheduled stretch I was told the person who does them was running 30 minutes late. I couldnt wait due to my daughters day-care schedule. I rescheduled for today - January 8. I have been looking forward to this appointment all winter break. My back has been killing me and I knew it would be such a relaxing end to the first day back at school. I planned to pick my daughter up late from day care, made sure I didnt have any after-school commitments, showed up for my relaxing massage, and was told I WASNT ON THE SCHEDULE. Turns out the woman who rescheduled me put it on FEBRUARY 8! The woman at the desk today was so rude, no apology in her tone, talking to me like Im an idiot rather than the person who put the appointment on the wrong month (I know it was January because we had a conversation about it being right after break and how great that would be). It was too late to go somewhere else, too late to get squeezed in at the chiropractor, and due to my teaching schedule and baby Im at least three weeks out from being able to have another free day after school. For some people this might be no big deal but I planned my entire schedule around this massage. Now Im at home with a back so sore and tight I can barely bend over to pick up my 9 month old. Thanks Massage Envy.

The staff needs training in all areas; friendliness, scheduling, awareness of customer. This is the third time Ive had some type of issue with zero apologies or remedy of problem. Speaking with a manager would have been helpful, but no one available.

This place is downright awful. I worked here briefly and the manager, Allie Judy, is not only incompetent, shes also extremely abrasive and rude to employees and customers. She clearly doesnt have very much management training because she outright asked me about a disability. This is a protected class and it is illegal for an employer to ask outright questions like that. I am in the process of filing a complaint through the EEOC. If overall bad management isnt enough to get you to stay away, the manager, therapists AND esthetician all smoke cigarettes right outside the door. Youd think a spa would be smoke free. Just imagine the esthetician is giving you a facial (which is supposed to be a clean, sanitary experience) and youre overcome by the smell of stale cigarette smoke. I personally would not want to smell cigarettes when getting a massage or facial. Holly, who used to work for the owners, now works for European wax center and evidently has only bad things to say about her time with Massage Envy. Would not recommend working here or receiving services here. Every single person Ive known who has worked there and left have only had negative things to say about it. Stay away.

My husband purchased a gift card for me for Christmas. I finally got around to using it. He told me he paid for a one hour massage and a sugar foot scrub. I told the staff this when I made my appointment, but I was only given the massage. The massage was ok.I think they focus too much on joining their club instead of the current visit. Not a place I will ever visit again.

To anyone considering becoming employed at this specific location,I strongly encourage you to skim all reviews within this thread. We can most closely relate to Jennifer Noels review, which focuses closely on the management and overall work environment. Ive received massages at a lot of Massage Envys (and had many enjoyable experiences), but I strongly encourage anyone considering to begin a career here to do their due diligence prior to committing. Id like to leave a few critical tips that I hope future employees find helpful. Please request written documentation and a detailed offer letter describing your terms of employment. These terms should include obligations of both parties and a timeframe, if necessary. For example, if you are a licensed massage therapist and agree to pursue additional higher education per management request, please document in fair terms the timeframe in which you will expect to take more responsibility and receive the benefits from the additional higher education. This includes both financial and daily duty responsibilities post higher education completion. Another example, if your employer agrees to front the financial cost of higher education, please document the agreed upon terms post higher education completion.High employee turnover at this specific location is the direct effect of the reviews below. I do not need to reciprocate what other reviewers have mentioned already, but we will end with this. An honest employee expects an honest living. A honest management expects a honest employee. A honest career deserves a plan backed by a fair management who is committed to their staff.Massage Envy is a trusted name for body health, but we personally believe this specific location needs some work from within. It is clear from the praised responses coming only from the positive reviews. A web link voicing any concerns is less than desirable when youve had a bad experience and posted a less than average review. Please have your questions ready when pursuing employment at this location.

My wife was getting the subscription service. I believe the massages were fine. When it came to canceling it because we were moving away they kept saying they would send an email to confirm the cancelation. Its been several months now, and they keep billing us. This is absolutely absurd. I am not the type to leave negative reviews, but this case has pushed me to this point. Im not sure what else to do. If you are thinking of doing business with them, dont give them your credit card number. They will abuse it.

A perfectly good massage ruined by someone trying very hard to get me to commit to a membership that I can get out of only with a physician note or moving away. This is a national chain. Ah, no. Also the membership price is the standard rate at other places around town. They also want you to tip at least 15% on the full rate. Pretty unethical, in my mind.
