Hole in the wall gem!!! A great hidden spot for a lively LGBTQIA crowd. Its mostly for gay men, but anyone would fit in. Cheap drinks and friendly bartenders. Nick was so nice! I enjoyed myself and will be back.Things to note: small bar, nice back patio with tables and chairs, two bathrooms but only one locks, the other is two urinals and a toilet, no stalls. Parking free, but limited. Do not park right next to storage containers as you have a chance of getting hit because of lack of visibility to other drivers.
Was excited to check out the space especially the karaoke but the DJ was an absolute mess. As soon as we walked in, she told our group “no more slips” 3 hrs before close, cut people off when they were singing just to mumble and talk to herself in the microphone (she did not seem coherent), and then the most horrendous part was a racist comment when she called the wrong person up saying “how should I know- you all look the same” ! We all looked at each other with shocked faces and had to leave after that. What a mess :( Would love to try again with someone else leading the activity…
My 3rd time here, won’t be going again. Bartenders seem to have a bit of an attitude… I peeped that out the very first time I came here. I was sitting at the bar with a friend of mine and one of the bartenders came over talking to a female that worked there, he got all in my personal space without an excuse me or anything like I was nothing, me and my friend got up and moved to the other side of the room. Then when I came back to the bar to pay the tab, one of the guys collecting glasses brought some up to the bar to be cleaned, he dropped the stack of glasses on the bar, ice and straws landed on my jacket.. again no apology or anything. The bartender that I was paying my tab to basically slammed the ticket on the counter. Much better prices and attitude at other bars… I’ll be spending my money elsewhere.
Friendly staff. The bartender made me feel very welcome. Good and fast service. Google maps says that there is food at the bar and thats not true. The crowd/demographics here is mostly older white men in their 40s+ and above. I came here on a Saturday afternoon.
How anyone could have a bad time here I have not a clue. It is the gay Cheers. I always feel welcome and the bartenders are always on it. Shawn is so kind and always remembers us which leaves you to want to stay longer and drink more. LOVE LOVE LOVE the Hideaway.
This was our second time here but may be our ladt. We sat at the bar where an older female served us however afer we finished our first drink she said she was leaving and ask us to pay, however the next bartender hadnt even arrived yet! So we waithed paciwntly for rhe bartender to serve us when he finally came in. We never got waited on after about 20 minutes so we left. We told the owner but he didnt seem to care either. I can spend my money elsewhere
Its simple....feeling down? Lonely? Work got you so stressed out you dont know what to do? Head to the Hideaway! I cant tell you the last time I went there and wasnt welcomed with a happy greeting. The staff at the Hideaway just know how to treat people. From what I can see, its like they know everybody that walks through the door! If you have to wait for anything at all, its only because its so busy there lately. It may be called Hideaway but it should be called Freeway because all roads lead right here, no matter who you are. Just turned 21 and need to go somewhere you feel safe? This is your place. Just turned 61 and need to celebrate with people who wont shame you because youre an older man? This is your answer. I could go on and on (obviously) but I wont. Bottom line...if youre looking for a bad experience, then youre probably gonna find it wherever you go. Happiness starts with YOU! If youre looking for fun with friends who treat you like you just got home??? Then welcome to the Hideaway, my friend. This is how I honestly feel about this place because its how Ive been treated and how Ive witnessed others being treated.
No cover charge, nice lowkey chill environment, I enjoyed hearing some of the old school tunes and you can def relax. If youre a bit more mature you wont feel out of place because most of the clientele is 31+ in appearance. Nice if you just wanna go to an LGBT space and chill with a drink but not really a turnup space. Pleasant environment though.
Hey kidz. So ya, I was escorted from the #hideaway #hideawayatlanta #hideawayatl property tonight by non other than APD. Thats a first in my life. Ejected from a bar. Not only ejected, but escorted by the rent a cop door security that was clearly under the influence of, lets call it the weedz. Erm, ya. If you know me, I dont post without first hand views and experience. My friend William was in the urinal bathroom with 3 other patrons waiting his turn to use the facilities. Standing against the door, someone started banging and then forcing their way into the facilities. Breaking the door in the process. When the door gave way, the agitator lost control of his beverage and drenched himself. He reported the incident to security and management. This leaves my friend in a predicament to rationalize his obstruction of the door to the facilities. When I ask the door security where the accuser is, he has no reply. Neither does management. *fishy fishy* Youd think if someone logged a complaint, that security, management or #APD would want to get the other side of the story. But the complaintant is both nowhere to be found OR is questioned by security, management or APD!As a result, both my friend and I are ejected from the property without due recourse or due process. When I questioned the security guard about the complaintant, Im ignored. 🤔 What exactly are the door security there for? Do we fear our safety in spaces deemed safe spaces and as a spectator frequenting the bar for 26-27 yrs stated he wasnt management or an owner but an observer during the actual police questioning refused to offer an option one way or another, even though he witnessed the event...... 🙈🙊🙉Other than this isolated incident at this bar, Ive only had great experiences. The bar staff are wonderful and attentive. But it makes me rethink my actual safety in an environment Im supposed to be comfortable in without question. If this type of event and then action was not only taken against my friend, but me as an associate, why would I frequent an establishment that caters favor when wrong action is really actually wrong? One post from me on social was enough for #Marys #MarysAtlanta to reach out for dialogue. Lets see how the Hideaway handles my social media experience. Also, I applaude Marys in EAV for reaching out (almost immediately) and swiftly addressing the issues I presented. As an alt Pup individual in Atlanta, I try to be courteous to all staff, tip well and understand that being patient is the best virtue they can value during budy times.Oh ya, this is a Public post. So anyone searching Facebook or the web will be able to pull these tags. Share and enjoy.
They need to stop hiding and let every one know about this nice little spot. The fuzzy navels are delicious, the sex on the beach is almost like the real thing. Both Rodger and myself loved every minute there and had a lot more fun back at the hotel ;) ;)
Honestly one of the worst experiences ever. A drunk customer tried to break down the door to the bathroom. Called the police on me for trying to protect my privacy. I would encourage you to reconsider before giving this bar your hard earned money.#antigay #civilrights
Walked in the other evening to find a room full of oiled down, nude men chasing each other around. One of them was running with a tub of butter. Not sure what was going on but they were giggling ecstatically and singing songs from Chers last album. There was a midget dressed as an Ewok working as the bouncer. Five stars though because they gave out free hand rolled cigarettes.
Drinks were a little costly which I dont mind if theres sufficient alcohol in the pour. Great atmosphere, sexy staff and pateons.
I went to this establishment on yesterday for the first time with some of friends, while i have heard of this bar before. I did not know where it was located. While sitting in the back near the dressing room with my friends, 1 black and 1 Hispanic and Im black myself. A white patron came over tothe table and said to usOh this must be the ethnic table which meant to me, to imply this is the black or colored section. Many of you may read this, and not understand how I as a black gay man would feel, because you have not walked in my shoes or that of my family and fellow black Americans. If you were in a straight bar with your friends and someone came up to you and said is this the gay section or alternative section. you would be offended. I was visibly angry and became more angry, when staff and management attempted to make excuses for this patron. I have been in the bar/club industry and if one of my patron ever made another patron feel uncomfortable, they would be escorted out. Its sad as gay men or women, we want equal rights and acceptance for ourselves, but unable to extend to others.
The atmosphere was very down to earth and laid back and I felt welcome the crowd is very warm and friendly not mention my good friend Darlene DJs there on Saturday nights I recommend anyone who has a open mind or who identify as proud queer.
Neighborhood bar type vibe. Good conversations with strangers with heavy pours from the staff. Favorite gay bar in at Atlanta. Super welcoming environment.
Being an aficionado of low key dive - ish type bars this place fits the bill. But I wouldnt go so far as to say its a dive, its not. Refreshingly No attitude, good drinks, and good prices, and did I say no attitude?
This neighborhood bar is a great place to meet locals. They have expanded their location. I am hoping they use the extra space to have a Sunday T Dance. I believe this will grow their business/clientele / Thanks Hideaway
The bar recently expanded nearly doubling its size by adding a gameroom and TV lounge. The bar is still tucked away behind the shopping mall in a most inconspicuous location. Partons crowd the main bar away so you can still find yourself waiting for bar service. The crowd has become more diverse over time. Its worth paying a visit.
This place is great and has a diverse crowd! The drinks are strong and everyone was so nice. Can’t wait to go back!
Great bar space and game room turns into a great performance space. Friendly staff, management and owner and I hear the Thursday night comedy show (Hot Mic Thursday at 10pm!) is really fun!
Check your credit card statements!! I hit the 25% tip button and it showed on my statement as 125% tip!! Huh interesting. And sad
Handsome & polite bartenders. Cheap drinks. Loud music. My kind of place.
Never a dull moment. Friendly staff and great drinks! The weekends are my favorite
Odd. Quirky. A brick fireplace. Golden retrieve laying in the middle of the floor and not moving for anyone. Strong drinks. Mixed crowd. Dive bar-ish. Will be back.
Sometimes crowded and chaotic, but I enjoy it still. The bartenders are friendly.
Im here visiting my friend kenny.im from Milwaukee wisconsin.i had a great time last night played black jack the dealer was so awesome.i will be back again next year.
Atlanta’s go-to bear bar now that the Eagle is gone. Strong drinks. Woofy dudes.
Great staff, Great crowd, great prices. I really enjoy the bar.
Fun bar with a cozy kind of sports bar-ish vibe
Amazing staff, local neighborhood bar vibes and social energy.
Super nice place with great drinks and even better people :)
I liked the experience and atmosphere of the place, at first I was kind of unsure about visiting this place, but it was good.
This was the worst bar experience of my life. We were dismissed and belittled by the bartender.
Nice atmosphere great drinks and food. Inexpensive $
