A friendly guide pointed me to his Aunt’s sports bar from before there was such a thing as sports bars. As a gringo from Pittsburgh with a soft spot for the wonderful culture of our southern neighbors fostered by time in Guadalajara, I really loved the friendliness and warmth of this East Austin landmark. Thank you!

Great BBQ! I went into Buckets to check out Birdhouse BBQ. The brisket was unbelievable!

I had a great time with a friend of mine and another friend of hers. We had an excellent time together. Shared a few drinks had a heart felt conversation. Later on a nice guy had bought us 1 bucket to share. A lot of nice folks here. I would recommend this place for a drink surrounded by friendly people.

Great little family run neighborhood sports bar specializing in ice cold buckets of beer. Bring cash or get some from the ATM inside. If you want liquor, you can bring your own and pay a few bucks for a set up. If youre hungry, check out the food truck outside for some good loaded up tacos, nachos and potato salad. Easy to scooter or drive to.

Boy do I love a good bucket of beer - and this place does not change that.Although it would have been better if they didn’t turn off the TVs right after the ball game.

Owner and his family were phenomenal hosts!!! This may be one of the best small family sports bars Ive ever been too.. recommend x10 to visit when in Austin!

Great place to watch ut

Not quite what we had in mind, to put it mildly. CASH ONLY. dive bar with domestic beers. We were referred by a nearby brewery’s bartender as a place to watch some football. Well football there was, other ladies there was not. We were likely younger than everyone in the bar by 20 years and were asked by a patron, “What are you ladies running from?” While Buckets may be the right choice for some locals, I would encourage female tourists to steer clear.

Great food, very cozy, great bartending service.

Great neighborhood spot, kinda feels like Cheers where everyone knows your name once youve been there a few times. Good spot for beers, they dont serve liquor but do sell set ups if you bring a bottle.

Great food truck in the back, all the bottled beer you could want and quality service. They had signs for WiFi outside and then I asked and was told they had no WiFi. Also no draft beer, that would’ve been a great feature!

Place is way too small inside. Outside needs bigger TVs. And better service to new people. Music is so loud. Food trailer is awesome and affordable.

Great little hide away with good people and good beer prices

Saw the pictures of it on Google and it looked great but when we went in it lacked a lot of atmosphere and the clientele were generally 50+. It didnt feel real friendly and we didnt stay for long. Small and probably with a fixed usual crowd.

This place is laid back. Everyone is nice and friendly. This was my second time there. Its my new place to enjoy great music and friendly people. Richard is a good bartender. I highly recommend you give this place a try.

I would give this place 6 stars. Its cash only. Fresh and cheap bar food.Its a no frills bar with Hispanic old time Austin Eastside regulars that are very welcoming to wandering bar hopper and hispter. The Slogan is be nice or go home!

This bar is great cool calm and Collective the atmosphere is good and the people who come in or just looking to have a good time. They do have live music from time to time just a great place to hang out.

Weird vibes from this place...its cash only so we left, because we didnt want to pay a fee on an ATM. Someone came out of the place as we were leaving and offered to give us cash if we Cash Appd them...when we said no, she walked back up on the porch and started trash talking us lol. Like I said, weird vibes. I would avoid if you can.

Great local bar atmosphere and the food truck was awesome. My only suggestion is to offer some local beers and change it up a bit.

There was a time that I spent every available moment inside buckets the bartenders are awesome thanks Richard the people or grade you can talk and laugh with just about anybody in there they always make you feel so welcomed I was in there not too long ago but it was just not me its been almost itll be four years this December that Ive stopped drinking everyday and going out to buckets everyday and I wouldnt change that for the world but I do miss the place so I do stop in 00 every so often write Richie Rich thanks buckets for always being there when I need you hahaha LOL laugh out loud

Best jukebox in town. Super laid back byob and they allow food inside. Lots of locals and age diversity.

Buckets has been my spot scince day one of opening...crowed is good ..staff just just needs to step up there game in keeping all of us customers safe so that we can have a good time....and bar people who on both sides that start trouble regardless whos right or wrong instead of showing favortism on who was right or wrong in a situation to eliminate the gossip and further trouble in Buckets...i feel thats the best way to control stupidity there at Buckets...Buckets is all we have left in the the Eastside for us people who grew up around the eastside....I would love to see Buckets go on for many more years of fun....Lets go staff lets step your game..In these situations....Thank you...I love Buckets

Im from San Antonio TX these last couple of weeks have been going regularly staff is friendly good music nice atmosphere people are cool I would definitely recommend Buckets to folks!

Go for the cheap beer; stay for the Tejano vibes. I love dive bars and Buckets is no exception. Super friendly. Bring cash!

First time there, wasnt to bad but felt it more like a reg bar so it was Kool tho...

My favorite bar in this neighborhood, just regular Mexican beer and a light airy atmosphere. Fun dancing.
