Hands down absolutely the BEST Spa experience in my 49 years. Rose was my massage therapist and had amazing pressure and professionalism. I then got a magical facial from Jason. My skin was radiant afterwards. From start to finish the staff was so welcoming, kind and professional. The ambiance and relaxing atmosphere was on point. I cannot wait to come back to Austin and Hiatus Spa. (I live in Denver) It 💯 made my trip. Thanks again.
Ive been getting a birthday massage Since 2021 and recently started coming more frequently. Elijah has consistently done an amazing job and I leave hiatus feeling incredible. The front desk staff are always very friendly and inviting as well. Great ambience and good vibes.
Melanie was an angel making my very first facial such a wonderful experience. It came at a difficult time in my life and it was the best self-care gift anyone could have given me. I was gifted the 60min tailor-made facial with several add-ons which made it extremely relaxing, including an aromatic steam, scalp massage, scrub, facial massage and acupressure. I left the salon with my face glowing and my soul at ease. Thank you Melanie and highly recommend her for all your facial needs.
Long standing member across Dallas & ATX, beautiful salon but management terrible. Drove 30 mins from Dripping Springs to purchase retail with credits [which I’ve consistently done for past two years]. Without any communication, apparently members can no longer do this? Lady in salon mentioned how ‘many members’ had been upset at this change - which begs the question why the salon still can’t communicate the change. More-so gives me an email to speak with upper management, to which I’ve not had a response for 5 days now despite kindly requesting they cancel my 6 year standing membership. I followed up once in this time also.UPDATE:Upgraded from 2 to 4 stars to reflect the quality of therapists & treatment experience. Hiatus agreed to let me to use credit towards treatments after review.
Came here for a first time facial by esthetician Emma! she did great work! ,and it was a very relaxing and refreshing feeling so hydrating with the facial! I would definitely come back for another facial!
BEWARE: Under new management and not nearly as hospitable or professional as it has been in the past. Also, staff seems to be leaving at such a rate that they cant book appointments for weeks. In addition to a recent member rate increase, I was canceled by the spa multiple times, needed to cancel on my end a couple of times as well and was told due to the inconvenience, they would extend my monthly membership credits so that I can use them. Was called again last week, being canceled on by the spa with no explanation and unable to book the services I have paid for for three months consecutively due to their faulty system not being able to book me online. Now Im in a crunch and need these services before a big trip with absolutely no options. Got hung up on by the desk girl who didnt seem to know how to handle an upset member or know how to make it right. Was told by the new manager she CANT refund my hundreds of dollars so that I can use my own money to go get the services I need elsewhere. They are literally stealing from me and accusing me of lying about being canceled on. All for what? To keep my $260? I was a raving fan for years but Ill be headed down the street to Milk and Honey where these problems dont exist.
Hiatus is such a luxurious retreat in the heart of the city. I always have a great massage experience, but Ive recently started microneedling treatments. The service tech was really informative and great during my first medspa treatment. I highly recommend the monthly membership to anyone, it is such a treat to look forward to. Even when we did have a scheduling issue, Hiatus was quick to provide a free add-on service that allowed me to add a scalp massage to my microneedling appointment.
I have been a Hiatus member in Dallas for years. I was visiting my sister in Austin and decided to take her to the Austin location. We both had an INCREDIBLE experience! Cynthia did my tailor-made facial and was so sweet, so kind, and left me feeling refreshed. My breakouts were already diminished walking out the door. My sister saw Karen and had an equally incredible experience.
I had an amazing facial at Hiatus! The atmosphere was great, and so relaxing. Brianna was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what my skin needed! I will definitely be going back! Loved it!
Recently booked maintenance waxing and the One and Only Mani + Pedi with performance polish at Hiatus Spa + Retreat. My service providers did a good job!My first visit was in June 2022 for maintenance waxing when my usual service provider was booked. This was the first time that I had a mani-pedi performed in the zero gravity position. Very relaxing! Most nail salons and spas perform manicures and pedicures in the upright position.Everyone was courteous and welcoming. Tranquil atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
Thank you fellow reviewers for steering us towards this spa. We are in Austin for a girls weekend. The five of us just had PHENOMENAL massages at Hiatus!!!! We are visiting from NYC. The accommodated all of us at the same time and even gave us a “spa party” private room to relax in before and after. They have Aveda and a variety of skin products. If I ever make it back to Texas, I am coming back to Hiatus! My only regret is that I should have scheduled a 90 minute instead of 60 minute massage. It was that good.
My first visit was and absolute amazing experience and will definitely not be my last. They squeezed me in last minute due to a cancellation with another location and my therapist Lauren was hands down the best. She was very warm and welcoming and most importantly she was great with her hands.I received the Swedish massage. The entire experience was very relaxing. She was attentive to my needs and requests given negative experiences at other locations. I was visiting from out of town so my only complaint is that she is not in my area or I would visit more frequently. If visiting Austin request Lauren. The front reception was also very kind from the time I walked in to the time I left. Overall great experience!!!
Love, love, loved my first massage here with Lauren Hood. Loved it so much that I booked my massage for the next few months and plan to sign up for the membership! Highly recommend for a relaxing and satisfying experience.
I love coming here for monthly facials with Melanie — she is knowledgeable, has great energy, and my skin has never looked better! The overall location is so convenient (free parking in the garage right behind the building) and the vibe inside is relaxing and comfortable. The membership is the way to go!
Unreliable. Disappointed. They cancelled a massage 3 MINUTES before the scheduled time and didn’t have anyone else so they booked me out 2 weeks out. Very unprofessional.
Horrible experience, do not book here.I book an appointment a month in advance. They call me to confirm my app the day before, it was a 6 pm appointment. Same day of service at 4pm they call me to let me know that the appointment was moved to 5 pm same day (in an hour). So I had to leave work and get there a soon as possible. I got there at 4:50pm and they took 15min to get me in to change. By the time I got to the massage I already had only 40 min when I paid for 60.I was more stressed after the massage than what I was before.Never coming back to this spa.
The acupuncture was incredible and the facial with Tara was amazing. My experience at the SPA was great before having a rude manager who broke my energy. When you go to a SPA is to relax. She put too much pressure on tips and started to do a lesson in life. Maybe she needs a massage.
Masseuse was friendly and put me at ease as I was nervous since this was my first time! She knew exactly what she was doing and basically put me to sleep on the table because of how great her massage felt. I would definitely return to this calming paradise and would choose the same masseuse :)
I had a pedicure with Cheyenne and it was wonderful. I had the Epic pedicure that had the hot rocks included and they were so soothing. I also had the anti aging hand treatment. It was incredible. My hands have never been so soft. I would recommend her for your manicure and pedicure needs. I’ve already got my next pedicure booked.
First time visit and it was very enjoyable. Very nice place and atmosphere was very relaxing. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Really enjoyed my facial with Tara.
Wow!!! I have experienced 3 services from this spa and every single one has been professional and relaxing. My facial was soothing and tailored to my request. My mani pedi was exceptional, most relaxing man pedi l have ever had. My massage was so good that l went in with a lower back pain and left with no pain. I will be joining the membership because it’s such a great deal! As a mom of 3 girls my husband treated me to this and l recommend this if your looking for a 5-star experience filled with relaxation.
I LOVE Hiatus and its many luxurious offerings. The team is accommodating, the environment emanates peace, and being an H-Circle is an incredible deal. Specifically, Emma VT. is one of the best estheticians in the city; she knows the science behind the products shes using (and thereby applies that knowledge to each treatment), understands the needs of her clients, and brings such a lovely warmth to each session. Such a wonderful experience!
I came here with my grandmother. She liked it very much. But from my end the services looked biased. We both had the same service but mine just manicure but my grandma got better service like addition of cuticle oil and extra care to the nails but not for me.
Loved my Mothers Day outing. Cheyenne and the front staff took excellent care of my daughter and I!
The whole Austin Team is amazing but I particularly love my esthitician Cynthia Garcia. I so look forward to my monthly appointment HOWEVER I am a huge fan of adding on - such as dermaplanning, the optimist facial, a standard peel, gua sha etc., etc. I highly recommend the monthly membership - it is worth the price. Patsy
Mabel is the greatest most amazing masseuse ever. I think I cried during her massage. 5 stars
I’ve had so many facials in my life (and most of them have been at Hiatus) but none have been better than those done by Emma Van Tassell. 5 stars for Emma. She is so great at her job. Very willing to dive into the science behind skincare, which I appreciate a ton. I learn something new every time I see her. I’m also seeing a ton of improvement in my acne-prone skin after just a few visits.Knocked down a star for the management of this place. The last time I visited, I sat in the lounge waiting for 15 minutes over my appointment time before getting a call from the front desk asking if I was going to make it. They made it up with a free add on, but little things like that can definitely dampen the experience. In summary: Emma is amazing and as long as the employees at the front desk are more diligent and better trained, I’ll keep coming here.
10/10 recommend! Although I wish it would stop getting so popular because it’s hard to get appointments when I want them! 😭
Where does a spa therapist visiting Austin go for a treatment on her day off? Hiatus Spa. I had a wonderful experience today from check in with Mandy and Kimberly. My Scrub was done by Kurt who has a wonderful therapists touch. He also did some phenomenal energy work while I was wrapped. Truly wonderful. And then I had my nails down by Thy!. Outstanding work!!!! Seriously this woman is an artist. I also loved that the nail room was quiet. There was relaxing music, the nails techs did not talk to each other and I was put in a laying position with my eyes were covered. Great atmosphere and professionalism.
Brianna was the best!! I got “the best facial ever” and it was so amazing. Definitely a much needed reset on my skin. Super relaxing as well which was my favorite.
Had a great experience at Hiatus Spa, but what made it twice as good was the exceptional service provided by my masseuse, Lina. Her level of expertise and professionalism is to be commended. My day at the spa was a birthday gift, however, Lina made it even more special with her kind and warm inviting spirit. Will definitely be returning and locking in a session with her again! Thank you.
Always such a relaxing and amazing experience. Staff is so very friendly and the entire experience is just seamless. 10/10 highly recommend
Absolutely love it!I actually work here and receive services as well.As a Nail Tech in this industry for over 25 years, I have worked in many spas. By far I am truly impressed with Hiatus and I have never given such a high compliment before... Hiatus is Fabulously above average!
Austin’s hidden gem. I’ve gotten just about every service they have to offer. My skin has never looked better. And after getting a mani/pedi in a recliner with a blanket and an eye mask I literally don’t want to get my nails done any other way. The massage therapists are all talented and unique. Hiatus truly has something for everyone. Their membership program makes it really easy and accessible to get self care in every month. Love love love.
Man, I love me some Hiatus. I ended up getting myself the membership and am (usually) here every month. I’ve only ever done the facials, which I love, so I can’t speak on the other services. The place smells great, the changing room is always so clean, the relaxation room tea is so friggin good, and the staff have always been really accommodating! If you just wanna treat yourself occasionally or wanna do the membership like me, I highly recommend hiatus.
I was in town for a conference, so I booked into a 60-min Signature with Travis. Wonderful experience overall. Very relaxing environment with a soft robe and slippers with inclusive sizing. Travis did a great job and had the softest hands of literally any masseuse I’ve ever had!
I have been a member at Hiatus Spa since 2019 and will forever be loyal! Bri has completely changed and healed my skin!! She is seriously amazing
I got the high end mani/pedi.The Good:The zero gravity chair makes the pedi very comfortable. I really enjoyed the various pedi treatments, especially the warming one. The cocktail I had was very good and the manicurist was very nice. The Bad:There’s no soaking tub for feet or nails, just a quick wash of your feet. The chairs the manicurists use are extremely noisy and constantly disrupt the relaxation you expect. When I checked out I was hit with a $10 up charge for the quick drying top coat that I had not requested or had even been made aware of. The manicure is subpar and honestly have done better at home. Definitely not worth the $190.
I absolutely loved my facial done by Emma. This is my third one Ive had from her and as someone who has dealt with breakouts for a solid 6 months after a facial from every previous esthetician I’ve been to, coming to Hiatus and seeing Emma is such a wonderful experience. I definitely wouldn’t go anywhere else after going to her. She is very kind to her guests, extremely professional and tailors to all her clients needs and preferences. If you’re looking for a relaxing visit, wonderful esthetician and a great environment, Emma at Hiatus is the way to go!
I always enjoy my facials from Brianna. She is very kind and professional.
Had a wonderful experience with my spa day. Will recommend that package (Happy + Happier + Happiest) to everyone! Elijah, Katelyn, and Shema were excellent
While I have had good experiences here in the past, after my last visit I will never go to this spa again. Before the massage:My husband and I were given a couples massage gift card as a gift and for some reason you arent able to book a couples massage online like you can with their other services. After months of calling and nobody ever answering the phone my husband finally just went in to make an appointment for me to use the gift card for a prenatal massage. The woman booked the appointment for 3pm and then changed it a couple minutes later to 1pm so that it would be done with a therapist that was certified in prenatal massages. The woman at the front desk changed it, while my husband was still standing there.Arriving:Having visited other spas in Austin recently, I was unimpressed with the amount of attention they give you when you arrive, especially considering they werent busy. I wasnt offered anything to drink or shown around the locker room as they do at other spas.Massage:I very much enjoyed my therapist, he was extremely nice and did a great job. After the massage:After the massage my husband received a call telling him that he didnt show up for the 3pm massage and was going to be charged a cancellation fee. My husband explained that the appointment was moved and that I had JUST left from my appointment and shouldnt be charged for being a no show. I then had to call to follow up to be told that this time we wouldnt be charged for missing the appointment (that I did not miss) but that next time we would.I will never visit this spa again. It doesnt seem like things are running smoothly there like they have in the past and it wasnt the experience I would have hoped to have after spending $250.
I had a wonderful experience at Hiatus Spa. I booked my first facial here (the Tailor-Made facial), and it set the bar extremely high. I alsobooked a 1-hour massage for relaxing, but knew I needed to work out some knots (the Comeback was the best massage I’ve ever had!) Thank you to the staff, Bri for the facial and Avi for the massage. Sorry for any misspelling. The other staff were also awesome and very kind. Hiatus felt super welcoming and relaxing. Just what I need.
My fiance scheduled a massage for me at Hiatus spa in Austin as a gift. I was a little intimidated because I dont usually get the spa treatment and it felt way more fancy than Im used to. The overall experience was great everyone was super friendly, wait times were short despite it being very busy - there was lots of staff (which is rare these days) Jessica made sure I left fully rejuvenated - 5 stars would recommend
Had a LOVELY experience here. It was my first time getting a massage in Austin and I definitely found my go to place. The place is impeccable and very very cozy. When you check in, they walk you to the girls room where you change into a robe and slippers they provide (they have lockers to put your personal items in).I had my massage with Virginie who was super sweet and made sure I fell asleep😁. The bed has a warmer and the sheets and blankets were super comfortable.Looking forward to coming back!
I’ve been a member for about 2 years (starting right before the pandemic) and have been pretty satisfied thus far. Scheduling has been hard because of Covid, staff shortages, and their recent renovations but all I’ve had to do was email and they immediately restored my expired credits to my account. I’m a bit more forgiving about the scheduling issues than other members, it seems, but read the room, it’s a nationwide issue, they can’t book more appointments if they don’t have the staff. The facilities are very nice. The locker room is stocked with necessities, and everything is very clean. Hiatus is 10x better than the other spa I was a member of.I’m hesitant to give the names of my favorites because I don’t want to have any more trouble booking with them, but for Facials Brianna is amazing. I would die for her. She has the hands of an angel. I’ve had many facials and I would never consider them very relaxing as the extractions, peels, treatments can be a bit ✨spicy✨ but Brianna works some kind of magic and I’ve caught myself falling asleep during her services. She’s so good.Would also die for Tyler. He really listens when it comes to pressure needs. I don’t have to give much direction though, he knows what he’s doing. I’m a very anxious person who physically struggles with relaxing, but Tyler makes it very easy.Overall I feel like I really get my money’s worth at Hiatus.
Monique did a fantastic job on my facial!! Been going here since they opened 10.5 years ago and started my membership. I love this place, glad things are starting to get back to normal. Showers are open again, the chocolate kiss are BACK, they are doing the aromatherapy and foot scrub before the service!!!! Those are my favorite things about this spa, which always made it feel so relaxing.
Updated review, April 2022I have a high bar for massages. I have so many knots and crazy tightness I’m probably surprisingly one of the customers in the worst shape therapists have seen. When I simply roll my shoulder back, you can hear the cracks. It’s been a long standing issue. So when therapists effectively work on my muscles (with ample/enough pressure coupled with technique) it’s a huge win for me. Otherwise it’s wasted time and money. (Don’t care for the light, feel-good, Swedish massage, help me loosen the myofascia and make me body more usable and less comfortable - requires some level of deep tissue and muscle to loosen the muscle.)I had a great massage at Hiatus Spa. Clayton found spots on my neck, the tops of my shoulders that I didn’t know were issues. Will definitely look to book with him again. Also, a few different times, Clayton asked about pressure (More? Less?) and adjusted accordingly. I think that was really effective. The waiting area is very relaxing. Whenever I go, I regret not getting in earlier and leaving a little time, even ten mins, to just rest there and slow my day.Kimberly, the manager, helped address my less than optimal visit last year. She’s superb and turned around my experience at Hiatus.Thank you!——-Dec 2022 two starsUsed to love it pre pandemic.Went there last week. The person who greeted me was most helpful and pleasant.Unfortunately the services themselves were very disappointing. I received a massage with apparently one of the top therapists. After I shared my focus areas, he told me he would give me a sports massage (v my scheduled harder core massage). I thought to myself, ok, maybe that’s all I need and offered at a better price.During my massage he kept asking me to try roll my muscles while he conducts a movement. That’s fine and I get the benefits and have done it many times (at south Congress massage, ace of cups, etc.). But this was like 25% of the time and I don’t enjoy doing this. Never did I spend so much time doing the work too. I thought to myself, maybe this is what makes it a sports massage.I told him my athletic routine. The first of out of maybe 30 therapists over my lifetime to say it’s not because my muscles are tight. Rather it is because it’s weak. No, I can’t run more than a mile or two bc I’m so tight. (He also doesn’t believe in stretching nor yoga.)There were a few more elements that made it less worth the money. I am never going back. Huge disappointment. As an aside, I loved Grace their Facialist who left years ago.
I was a first time visitor to Hiatus for a body wrap, and had such a wonderful time that I signed up for the monthly membership. Note that if you turn into where Mean Eyed Cat is and drive behind the building, there is a parking garage for the businesses on 5th and its free. The entrance to the spa is in the garage, as well.I was greeted and given a tour of the spa facilities. Theyre renovating but it was still calming and soothing inside. I had some really tasty tea while I waited Crystal to get me for the treatment. She brought me to a room and explained every part of the treatment. She did an amazing job. The body wrap is the perfect way to relax and treat your skin. Im excited to make this a monthly ritual in my quest to chill the eff out.
We had a really great time taking our mom in for a mothers day retreat. The staff is very talented and nice. We all had a massage and facial, and really enjoyed our visit. It was my first time visit but I know Ill be back! They dont have a sauna or steam room, so if you are looking for those options in a spa visit this wont be the place for you.*if you are a first time guest there is complimentary parking/parking structure behind the store front. Make sure you go to the corner and you will see a sign for parking.
THE best massage Ive ever had.Clayton was INCREDIBLE.I would absolutely recommend and will DEFINITELY be back.Rosaura privided excellent customer service from beginning to end.The facility is great with great ambiance and a comfortable atmosphere.
Membership is the way to go...We have been members since Hiatus at The Pearl opened. This is a monthly credit applied to the spas essential services, and affords you discounts on spa services and merchandise.Hiatus has beautiful relaxation spaces, wonderful services, and the staff is always friendly and happy to help. Treat yourself!
Visiting Hiatus Spa was a much needed option, once I made certain that I was COVID-Free. Im grateful for Carmen, who made sure that I was comfortable through the session. She asked me appropriate questions before we proceeded, she picked the perfect oils for aromatherapy, and she picked the choice alternatives for below the ankles. A massage therapist who takes the time to work with the client is a must-have. And Carmen proved to be that must-have~!Thank you for removing bringing my stress down significantly, Carmen and Hiatus Spa + Retreat~!
Every visit to Hiatus Spa + Retreat is like taking a mini and much needed vacation.A serene and tranquil aura fills every inch of this beautifully appointed space. The warm reception at the front of the house always starts a perfect experience. The zero gravity reclining leather chairs in the Manicure/Pedicure are a totally unique service for the Austin area. A warm neck wrap, aroma therapy, feet soaking in a copper tub, and I am on my away to a guaranteed nap! I have never had a disappointing service at this spa. Booking an appointment always makes me happy!
I love Hiatus Spa, the H-Circle membership is amazing and facials by Bri are the best! I’ve been to several spas in Austin and Hiatus by far is #1!
I never thought I would be a regular spa visitor, Hiatus is the mental and physical escape we all need. They offer a nice variety of services and the staff is professional and knowledgeable. I have had massage and facial services in the past, but I was never loyal to any particular spa. My former experiences were just alright, no major reasons to return. Hiatus offers high quality and exceptional value, so its easy to consider carving out some time in ones schedule and take care of yourself. Join the H-Circle club and save some $ on the service, I still tip based on original service cost because the service delivered is the same. Give yourself or someone who needs a break an hour appointment as a gift, you will not be disappointed.
Ive been going to Hiatus Spa + Retreat since April 2019, and have had a pleasant experience each and every time. If you are in search of your next self-care sanctuary, look no further than Hiatus.I found out about Hiatus from a trusted colleague some time back, but didnt think I had the need to partake in spa services. It wasnt until a cacophony of negative life experiences, including a break-up and a soul-crushing work environment, pushed me over the edge and forced me to desperately seek out the Zen. Im happy to say, Ive found it.The bulk of my experience with Hiatus has been with their massage services. With the help of my primary care doctor and an FSA, my massages are baked in to my self-care routine that involves both meditative, relaxing, and restorative properties for body and mind. If youre looking for my go-to service recommendations, they are The Knockout with Bryce B. and The Magnificent Seven with James C. Both are terrific providers and offer relaxing and deep-tissue components that suit me well. Each time I visit, they are both welcoming and approachable in customizing focus areas and helping to make a positive experience that is unique and enjoyable. I would highly recommend both Bryce and James, and have referred at least two friends who have had equally positive experiences.Aside from one Acupuncture session that was also zen-worthy, I have yet to partake in other spa services, but that is most definitely soon to change! I highly recommend Hiatus Spa + Retreat.
Best discovery EVER! Rarely am I motivated enough to write a review, but I have been so thrilled since I learned of this spa. I initially went in for a facial, and thought there was a mistake when my appointment began with a foot scrub and rinse. I have since learned that that is standard with every service. Awesome! Additionally, it was the most thorough and relaxing facial I have had since ever:) Hilary rocks! Since my first visit, she has taught me so much about my skin, and given me great advice whenever my complexion is struggling. She knows her stuff! The entire facility is well designed and so serene…what you imagine of a good spa. I instantly feel more zen when I step into the lounge area. Following my first visit, I signed up for a membership (brilliant concept), and now enjoy a monthly facial for a fraction of what most other high end spas charge. As a member, I have also taken advantage of their acupuncture, nail & massage services at the same special rate as my facials. Everyone I have dealt with has been super professional & friendly. Hiatus is a rare gem & the easiest recommendation I have made to friends to date.
Hiatus Spa + Retreat is the best spa experience Ive ever had. Ive had massages and facials there, and the experience has always been top-notch. I love going in for a treatment, and being able to slip on a comfy robe and shoes, and being able to relax beforehand. I always leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I am so happy that we have this here in Austin.
I have been a part of the H Circle for over a year, paying a monthly fee. Hiatus has not returned my phone calls or emails ONCE. They have not been available to schedule appointments. The one appointment I could make was booked 3 months out. When I went in the entire building was under construction and it was not a spa like experience. I asked in person to speak with the manager about the fact that I pay monthly to be a part of the H circle and am not able to use my benefits because of the lack of reception support. I was guaranteed a call back. Nothing. My account has been being charged every month and I cannot even schedule a massage. I’ve tried to cancel - nothing.Terrible customer experience. Terrible support. Do not sign up.
I have been looking at the schedule since October/November 2021 trying to book an appointment and there are never any appointments available - even when I look out over a month into the schedule. Yet the spa is still happy to take my monthly membership fee for services it cannot provide. I continued to pay the membership fee when the spa was shut down during COVID to help the company stay in business, and this is how the members are repaid. Two years worth of credits that I cant use because I cant book an appointment. And they are still pushing their membership option on the website, even though they cannot possibly serve the members they currently have. Time to find another spa option with the ability to serve customers.UPDATE: I received a call from one of the owners yesterday who apologized for the situation, explained what the owners are doing to try and address the staffing/availability shortages and offered to take several steps to address the membership fee/credits that I have been unable to use. I agreed to give the spa a few more months to see if the scheduling improves due to the steps ownership is taking to recruit more professionals and then reassess. I am not entirely without sympathy for the staffing situation given the current climate, but the Austin spa was starting to have scheduling issues even before the pandemic (although not nearly as severe as they have been this year). This is not an inexpensive monthly expenditure for many members and the spa needs to figure out a way to deliver on the service members are paying for.
I was visiting from out of town, called Saturday morning, and was in for a massage by noon. I’m a massage snob, but I had a wonderful experience here and would highly recommend Hiatus. The staff were kind and professional. The facility is nice and clean. And the massage was just what I needed! Thank you, Hiatus for getting me in at the last minute!
Loved my experience at Hiatus! I got a massage and a facial and both services were incredible and relaxing. The facilities are really nice and they have great procedures in place to make you feel comfortable during COVID.
I love Hiatus Spa in Austin. It is absolutely heaven every time I enter Hiatus. Whether it’s a facial, massage, a retreat or even just being there to look at everything they have to offer. It’s been such a lifesaver to my wellbeing. Thank you Hiatus💜
There was a time this was a great spa, NOT anymore!! The staffing has been reduced to some of the worst employees I’ve ever encountered anywhere. Went to cancel my account today after being a member since the day they opened they not only wouldn’t close my account they refused to do anything about my existing credits. I’ve emailed to do this receiving only a canned response. It’s unacceptable! I’m unable to speak to a manager or cancel my membership easily as it was explained on my initial visit. What you can expect? No appointments available book, credits building up in your account that expire that you’re unable to use because there are none available, not easy to cancel membership, credits not refunded when there are mo appointments available, ever changing staff and no accountability taken by the team that is supposed to be there to help! Do not join and do not use this spa. If you do, do not join their membership. Better yet, go anywhere else!
Beautiful spa, incredibly friendly staff and acupuncture that changed me. I highly recommend and signed up for their regular membership on the spot. Try Kurt!
Ive been an H-Circle Member for years and its always a nice, relaxing experience at Hiatus. I love to read and drink the comforting tea in the relaxation room before and after my treatment. The staff are always so friendly and the treatments are top notch. I love the variety of treatments available, as well, so that you can always find something to meet your needs. I also love the products they sell, Aveda and a variety of other brands, that I can use my H-Circle discount on.
Hiatus is my little slice of heaven! I was very impressed with the precautions they are taking during Covid-19 and appreciate them being open to allow some relaxations during this stressful time. The massage I got from Josh was IN-FREAKING-CREDIBLE! He paid close attention to my tight shoulder and my injured ankle and it was the best massage ever! Julia’s facial service was so relaxing I dozed off. Thank you, Hiatus for being amazing!
Cant say enough great things about Hiatus! The entire team is is a dream, from the moment you walk in to the time you leave. Ive had regular facials from Jessica and my skin has improved tenfold! The deep tissue massage is great for active people, and the atmosphere is so nice and relaxing. This is by far the best deal in Austin!
Reagan was wonderful & very communicative. Though the spa was under construction, it was still very cozy & relaxing. The massage itself was phenomenal and the tea afterward brought the experience to a gentle close. Ill be back & will recommend to others.
As an out of town visitor, I was excited to spoil myself with a pedicure from Hiatus Spa. Unfortunately, it was quite honestly the worst pedicure I have ever had. I am not one to usually write reviews, but I would guide anyone away from paying $70 for a pedicure that chipped within two days. The pedicure itself also lacked in luxury for the price. The massage lasted maybe 3-5 minutes, and the woman giving me my pedicure wasnt in the room half the time. Sure the noise cancelling headphones and eye mask were pleasant, but overall would never get a pedicure here again. I cannot speak to the other services, but for the price, you are much better off going elsewhere.
The massage was wonderful and the facial was average. I feel my husband did not get his moneys worth from his Christmas gift to me. The pedicure and manicure were a huge disappointment. My cuticles were barely cut, nail polish all over my skin, and toenails were clipped as short as they possibly could be. I asked to just file to shape. My ungraded gel manicure (which I paid an additional $45 for) is underwhelming. Again, cuticles not cut (much needed, too) and paint all over my skin. I went home and tried my best to get it all off so it would look semi-decent. Bubbles in the paint and parts of my nails not painted. I never leave reviews, however, this experience left me bothered as I hate that my husband worked hard for this gift and Ive gotten much better manicure/pedicure service at my local nail salon for over half the price.
I planned a girls spa visit for my birthday here. It was my first time coming to this location and we loved it! Corey who helped me with EVERYTHING, was a complete gem and so accommodating ( it is always a challenge trying to coordinate a group of girls) . He recommend a private room for the group and he was so right. The private room was ideal and set up so nicely. We lounged in there before and after our massages. Everyone was very attentive to ensure we had the best possible experience. The facilities were immaculate and my spa service was exactly how I wanted to celebrate my 30th bday. Thanks to all the staff for a memorable time! Will be back soon for sure!
I had a prenatal massage with Tyler this morning and it was absolutely amazing! He was very nice and knew exactly what he was doing. I left feeling relaxed and refreshed. I highly recommend!
Hiatus is a wonderful urban retreat with professional and knowledgeable therapists who always help me relax and recover from the stress that builds up and takes its toll on my body. Great amenities, friendly staff, clean and well-stocked facilities. I love to enjoy some of the fruit-infused water, tea and chocolates while relaxing pre or post massage in their soothing waiting room. I feel healthier — both of mind and body — every time I leave Hiatus!
For the rude receptionist, Id have given a 1, but the massage was good. I called on the 26th for an appointment on the 27th (my birthday). She told me for my birthday Id be given complimentary extra time. Great! On the 27th, my birthday, I was called and told the massage was cancelled because my masseuse was sick. Bummer! I asked if Id still get the extra time for my birthday, since they were the ones that cancelled and she said yes.The only time available was the 29th at 7pm. I dont really want go at that time, but if thats what available, ok.I plan to arrive 10 minutes early by then there were 2 accidents on 183/mopac that delayed me. I was 5 minutes late. When I returned to the locker room after the massahe it was 815. (1 hour massage)When I went to check out, the overly confident, unfriendly staff said I was given the additional time of 5 minutes, I was dissatisfied, but fine. She asked if Id like to leave a tip. I said yes, 15% (it was an ok massage, but not awesome). I somehow didnt trust her and asked for my receipt because she didnt offer me one. She shortly said it would be emailed. Ok...I return to my car and look at the receipt... Not only did that horrible woman leave 20% but she left 20% off of the gimmie more! $26 tip. Happy birthday to me!... No thanks.I had to return inside and ask her to fix things. She was unapologetic and so rude. I will not be returning to this spa.
The overall experience at Hiatus is 5-star treatment. The reception is warm and efficient, the facilities are clean and full of amenities.DeDee Hollenbeck provides a professional, therapeutic, and relaxing facial every time I visit her (which is over three years at this point!). I highly recommend visiting her for your next facial. All of the massage staff know how important it is to consult with the client first before starting the massage. I have enjoyed every single massage at Hiatus. Some notable massage therapists include Maya Rodriguez, Candice Stolle, and Renee Carrasquillo. I dont think you can go wrong with any choice!
Nice environment, pleasant vibes. And honestly, one of the best massages Ive ever had. Keith is awesome! Just wish I had gone with the 2hr instead! I highly recommend him!
I had the best facial with Jocelyn. I had recently just moved to Austin and everyone was very friendly. I havent had a facial in awhile and my provider assisted me with products that were best fitted for my skin. I will definitely be back.
I went to the spa because my boyfriend had surprised me with an appointment over spring break. He had taken care of everything from planning the day to paying for everything, including preemptively a generous tip. When I got there I was seated in the waiting room with the hot tea and very much enjoyed my time there. I was brought to a very cold room for my mani/pedi/scrub. Although she put a large comfortable blanket on me, when she removed the heated towels from my arms, I was so cold I had goosebumps the rest of the session. This made it hard to concentrate on being relaxed. When I left the receptionist, Jerry, was very short with me and seemed personally insulted I wasnt leaving an additional tip. Lastly, though the service was very good, my manicure lasted less than a week before it chipped thought my pedicure has lasted thus far.
I had an amazing facial from Evelyn Kantner; it was my best facial ever! Shes a very skilled esthetician, and she has a calm, confident, positive presence. Evelyn customized the experience to my needs, and recommended a couple of products that have really helped.
After a 90 minute facial I was left with swollen, bruised eyes. I look like Ive been punched in the face. What was supposed to be healthy for my skin turned into a nightmare. When I privately reached out to the spa I was sent a blanket apology with no information on what they used on my skin except it was Aveda products. Ive used aveda before and have had many facials and NEVER had such a reaction. Im shocked at the lack of accountability on the spas part. I would never recommend them and would strongly advise people NOT to go here. Its been 2 days and my face still looks bruised and swollen. Disgusting service.
Received a wonderful facial from Melanie. She was so kind and professional. I felt very well taken care of through out the treatment. Would definitely recommend this spa and Melanie!
First time ever experiencing anything like this and nothing short of the most relaxing experience ever. Reagan was wonderful and guided me through the whole thing. Thank you Hiatus, I feel reborn!
Great massage from James. Very peaceful setting, highly relaxing and personalized. My wife goes monthly, as I gave her a monthly spa pass for Christmas. Its the gift that keeps on giving all year!
I have been coming to Hiatus for over 10 years. It is always a wonderful and relaxing experience. Entire team is great and very personable.
The check in experience was super chaotic. None of the front desk staff knew what they were doing, it was super stressful, not relaxing, and was hands down the worst spa experience I’ve hadDuring my massage, I could hear employees chatting on the hallwayI did not feel like a valued customer, would not recommend and will not be booking again
This was a groupon deal and it was amazing! The atmosphere, staff and massage were excellent. It was the best massage that I ever had. My bf agreed too. I have never felt so relaxed.
Julee is absolutely amazing. I have never had such an amazing experience and facial. I was apprehensive about coming during COVID and didnt think it would be as relaxing but omg. I fell asleep at least four times and could have stayed on that table all day. My skin went from dehydrated summer to glowing radiance! Julee all the way!
A badass massage/spa experience I recommend for any athlete, runner, walker, or even dog-walker. Ive had shoulder pain for years from playing rugby and weightlifting, and within one deep-tissue/hot-rock session I feel rejuvenated like I never have before. I will definitely be back bi-weekly to follow-up and work on my muscle rehabilitation and recovery.
Never have accommodating appointments available so your H-circle membership is worthless unless you don’t have to work during the day. I’ve lost hundreds of dollars because your monthly membership service expires before you are able to get an appointment.
One of the best Spa downtown austin i go there one or twice a month. Clean changing room with shower, the best is the relaxing room before your treatment this place is gold. just perfect for get in the mood.
Really really poor experience. Massage was rushed and left me super oily. None of my concerns were addressed for a deep tissue massage. And overpriced at $130 for 45 minutes.
I highly recommend Hiatus Spa to my friends for massages, facials, mani-pedis, acupuncture and, most of all, the monthly retreats! Im very happy with the services I have received as well as the spa in general!
Dee dee was amazing. The facial massage was amazing. Peel was awesome. She was very knowledgeable. Referred me to a medical spa treatment that I was interested in having done. Which I did and it was amazing as well.
Karen is the best! The spa environment is incredibly relaxing and I always leave feeling refreshed.
Hiatus spa staff is awesome! Great massage and welcoming and cheerful reception crew. Very clean. Lovely and relaxing atmosphere.
Booked a last minute massage for my birthday and it was amazing. Great place, super relaxing, and the BEST staff. Regan gave one the best massages Ive had in years!!!
The staff, from the people at reception, to both of my service providers were super friendly and the services were both outstanding. Highly recommend. Located in a nice area of Austin and easy to get to from downtown.

A lot has changed since the last time I was in Austin. And after my massage at Hiatus, it finally sank in, that things are different now - in a good way. This type of spa didnt exist when I lived here. You guys are lucky, because this was all good. Really good!
Elijah was wonderful and I definitely will be booking with him again! He did a great job with communication and making sure I felt comfortable.
Love love love this place. The welcoming staff and services are amazing. Totally worth it. It is what a spa should feel like. Just make sure you get there about 20-30 min early so you can enjoy the relaxation room and unwind before your services.
If I could only get there more often! Every time I go it feels like such a great treat, and I can never decide which treatment to get because I want/need them all. The staff is always super courteous and friendly, and I love the serenity of the whole space.
Dori Ginsburg gave a great massage and body wrap. She used the perfect amount of pressure, and I was able to relax the entire time I was there!
Kelsey was awesome. Had a great energy and was super thorough. The spa itself is relaxing and clean and the products are high quality.
I highly recommend massage therapist Travis. He is amazing and the best massage therapist I have ever had!
Very relaxing! I loved the robes and changing room. I got there a little early and had a sparkling water in the lounge.
I’m an H-Circle member and I love having great treatments available to me at a moderate price. The service is good and the environment is so relaxing.
Cassi front desk very helpful, Tee (amazing pedicure) very sweet, Jules - wonderful facial - will definitely return!
Love this spot and Monique for facials!
Hiatus is the best priced, most relaxing spa I have been to. I especially recommend getting a massage from Gregg!
It was so wonderful and relaxing. Received the Mani Pedi and my nails looked wonderful and I felt great after.
A beautiful, relaxing experience. Very professional massage therapists with high end massage tables and techniques. Would highly recommend.
The atmosphere, smells, sounds, tea, etc. are amazing! I loved my facial and esthetician - Jenae.

Wonderful massage/spa experience. The manicures are very relaxing as well.
Calming, relaxing. Great facial. Great atmosphere. Delicious Aveda Tea.
Went for nails with a Groupon. They charged for a tip I did not agree to. My nails started chipping the next day.
Very overpriced. My gel manicure lasted 5 days :(. Complained to management one week ago, followed up twice but no response. :(
Everyone there is a pleasure! The only place that I ever consider joining a membership. Such a treat!
There’s a really good taco truck across the street. Get a massage and then a taco. You won’t regret it.
This is a nice spa with caring and friendly employees. Definitely felt better after my visit here.
What a fantastic experience this was! The staff was professional, excellent and courteous and the services were great. Definitely going back soon!
You guys are heaven on Earth. I was treated like royalty so I became an instant member. Thank you and see you soon!
Staff was very polite and are really nice people, but they had trouble explaining some of their services
My feet were so perfect after! And I got a nap.
