Verbena Spa at Austin Proper Hotel

My facial with Wendy was amazing. She was thorough yet gentle. I went into a completeZen state and left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and had multiple compliments on how glowing my skin was! The entire staff was sweet and welcoming, I highly recommend this spa!

Hands down, the best spa in Austin. Hope and Leslie are amazing estheticians, although Im sure all their employees are as great and caring as they are.The atmosphere is clean, calming and inviting, with a lovely changing room and waiting room, offering delicious small bites and relaxing beverages.Massages and Facials are both exceptional.

I just got the best 60plus minutes massage by Opal. She went above and beyond. My lower back was hurting and after our session I’m ready to take on the world. Thank you, Opal. Also, I got a 60 minute facial by Hope…can I just say I love her too!!!’ Definitely will come back and see you!!!!

This place is magical. Fantastic massage, cold plunge and on Sundays, a free yoga class. The yoga class is great for all levels and the instructor will give you personal attention to get just the right pose.

I suffer from a lot of pain particularly around the neck and upper back and I am typically unhappy with massages at any spa or salon I go to. I decided to give Verbena Spa and Jeff a try... When I got out of my massage I had no pain and felt like I could breathe better than ever. Thank you Jeff! I am very excited to have found this gem and will definitely come back.

Hope was awesome and gave me an amazing facial. Such a great experience overall in the spa. Peyton was very helpful, as well. Everyone was so pleasant. I will be back!

I received an excellent sports medecine massage from Briana! The facility was fantastic - I felt very welcomed by the manager Diane. There were various drinks / snacks made available in the waiting area; I may have overindulged but nobody even batted an eye (I ate like 4 or 5 muffins). Access to the locker room, showers, and steamroom was an added plus. The massage lasted the full time, and Briana made sure to cater the massage to exactly what I requested. All in all, it was a fantastic Proper experience - one I will have again next time I am in Austin!

This place sets the standard for excellence in hospitality. Jasmine and her team from the Spa made every effort to make our anniversary trip unforgettable. The spa staff was incredibly kind, and the massage was transformative! HIGHLY recommend the spa and the hotel overall.

Ive been here a couple of times and both times were very disappointing. First time we got a couple massage and when we got there, they told us they dont have shared rooms for couples! There were some scheduling issues and my therapist was late 45 mins. Staff was nice and gave me a complimentary 15-min session but I ended spending most of my time sitting in the lobby waiting for my boyfriends massage to end. Both steam rooms for men and women were out of order that day. The spa is very small and the steam room is also very small and uncomfortable on top of being out of order. They have no other amenities than the small out of order steam rooms. Second time I tried the singing bowl sound bath and it was really bad. The room had loud car noises and downtown honking from outside and all we heard was the very very loud bad music from the lobby, and multiple interruptions from other staff opening the room door to come in. They just dont have the logistics or room or equipment to deliver meditation or sound bath therapy. The instructor was good at the sound bath part but that was just maybe 10 mins of the session and the rest was very bad guided meditation and some pre-taped music. Not that it mattered because we couldnt hear anything but the awful loud club music from the lobby. I could not wait for the session to be over and I ended up with more stress! Its like I paid a lot of money to listen to Katie Perry! There were no candles or a dark comfy room. Overall, especially with their luxury prices, they need to get their logistics and quality under control and maybe dont offer services they cant deliver.

Jeff is the best massage therapist Ive ever had! He was so thorough, and the whole experience from beginning to end was phenomenal. The front desk team were so sweet, helpful, and informative. I would highly recommend Verbena Spa!

My partner and I both had an excellent massage for our anniversary at Verbena! The reception was super welcoming and let us check-in early and extend our massage on the spot. I highly recommend requesting Jennifer she was amazing! The massage was very much worth the extra price for the ambience, quality of amenities and quality of products used. I highly recommend using their steam room post massage. We’re already planning our next trip back!

Had the loveliest time here -- and as someone who is no stranger to massages, I had quite possibly the THE BEST EVER massage with Jeff. Will travel back to Austin for another!

Peaceful and serene. Visited as a non-hotel guest in early December. I booked the Body Planing: The Proper Renewal body treatment.I felt an immediate sense of calm as I entered the reception lounge. I received a warm welcome by the spa host. Love the decor!After a tour of the reception lounge and dressing rooms, the spa host recommended a steam before my body treatment. My service provider, Robyn, was great and thoroughly explained my body treatment.They offer both energizing and detoxing drinks and nutritious bites to enjoy before and after your experience at Verbena Spa.Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed my massage and the staff was super friendly, courteous and professional. The facilities were emaculatly clean and cutting-edge. I highly recommend the proper hotel spa if you are staying at the hotel or if you are in Austin!

I had a exceptionally peaceful and beautiful experience at this spa. To start the with the aroma as you walk in is incredibly grounding and intoxicating. My therapist, Hilary McVay was the perfect balance between deep tissue and healing. She was brilliant. I look forward to my next trip to vist to this spa

My experience at the Verbena Spa at Austin Proper Hotel in Downtown Austin was one of the most memorable spa treatments I have had. The 90 minute Tequila: The Proper Way treatment was incredibly relaxing and allowed me to really rest and unplug. Every detail from the sip of tequila, to the fragrance of the essential oil blend, to the soothing chill playlist and the palo santo took me on a journey of the senses. I loved how the therapist incorporated a guided meditation which paired with the scents and music and took me to a special place I envisioned in the desert. I left feeling both relaxed and energized.I would highly recommend this treatment and the Verbena Spa for anyone visiting Austin looking for a unique and memorable spa experience.

The spa sheets are dirty and the staff has very bad attitude about it. They will charge you 300 for a terrible service and make u lay down kk dirty sheets then tell you on it’s no big deal. This supposed to be a luxury spa but it’s not don’t waist your money here go somewhere else……

The Verbena Spa at the Austin Proper Hotel is a cozy, beautiful space with so many thoughtful and unique amenities. The relaxation area invites guests to nourish with food (bite sized vegan blueberry muffins and chai bites) and drink options (CBD tea and chlorophyll water). The retail space includes things you might find from a really hip friend - Saint Jane, Monastery, Rootfoot and Anatara to name a few lines. The locker area has plush robes from Madison Collection and sandals from Oka B with luxe amenities from Aesop. The treatment offerings invite guests to renew and restore. The service I had booked was Tequila: The Proper way - a massage using agave and tequila, the treatment is a fun play on what makes Austin memorable.
