Massage Envy

I had an amazing experience the last time I went to the Bakersfield Massage Envy. I had booked online, but the appointment didnt show up in their system. The manager Jessica was able to accommodate me despite me basically being a walk in. Connie was great and I really enjoyed my massage. I received the enhanced muscle therapy as an upgrade and felt it was an extra boost to helping remove the tension I carry in my shoulders and low back.

Purchased a couples massage for my boyfriend and I we had to move the date of the original day of the massage. Which was no problem. Once we came in for our couples massage Leann the Assistant Manager who was extremely negative said that the call center messed up and that they wouldn’t be able to conduct our couples massage today. We were so disappointed. Her story line made no sense and we came to the conclusion that the local store made the mistake and didn’t want to confess that they gave one of our masseuse to another client. I would much rather go to any other spa locally then massage envy. There Leadership staff was NOT professional, transparent, truthful, and trustworthy to us. We asked for a refund and was given a member to call for the gift cards.Updated 5/13/24 thank you Jessica the general manager for reaching out and listening to our concern with care and understanding our frustration. If it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t have ever came back to Massage envy. You and the rest of the team took a really negative experience caused by one employee and turned it around. Thank you.

Absolute trash....I wish it wasnt. I am honestly surprised they have over four stars. My husband booked a couples massage for our 18th year anniversary. When we arrived, we were offered water and asked to sit in a sitting room. The ladies that gave the massage came out and escorted us to a room. My husband, who is pretty muscular requested a firm massage and I requested a medium. The lady doing my husbands message said, oh, I dont do that. And we should have walked out. We spent a lot of money to essentially have lotion rubbed on our bodies. He also paid an extra $12 for aromatherapy which and I kid you not, was the masseuse rubbing lotion on her hands and telling my husband to inhale. WHAT?! Sniff her hands?! So, we spent an hour getting lotion put on our bodies, zero pressure applied and such a waste. We paid for our services and left. I would NEVER recommend this location or brand. I seriously have no idea how it has so many stars.

Came in for a facial before my wedding and signed up for membership. I wasn’t told it was a contract and that I wouldn’t be able to cancel. Every time I booked a service the, they tell me the Esthetician has called or had an emergency the day of. Then they would have the most inconvenient times available to rebook. They don’t have many options for messages either. I was told I can only cancel membership if it’s a medical emergency. I feel like I’m being robbed. I haven’t used their service since last October because they never have appointments that works or keep canceling my appointments. I would call my card but they seem like the type to report to your credit. I would avoid them at all cost and find a local person to get your services. #SCAM

I have been coming here to get my facials and massages. I’ve seen multiple massage therapist and all have been great. The receptionists are welcoming and estheticians have been working wonders on my skin. I have the membership and get huge savings every month. Worth every penny!

Been going to this Massage Envy for over a year and had a great experience. I have Minda as my Massage Therapist and she’s helped my shoulder pain immensely…and found other areas that I didn’t know were in such bad shape. I look forward to our sessions each month.Jenna is also wonderful at facials and we gab and have a good time all the while. Great group of folks working here that are good at what they do.

I attended the Customer Appreciation Day last Friday. Wow! Mallory was such an energetic greeter and her popcorn 🍿 was tasty!! Joey served up a fabulous snow cone🍧. I was introduced to Jenna, an esthetician, who shared some great info. Last but not least, I got to see my favorite massage therapist, Kat!!! She never disappoints!! 💆🏻‍♀️I love our neighborhood Massage Envy, they’re the best!!!

I’ve gone with several people, everyone has their own style. People in the front are super nice and welcoming.

My experience at Massage Envy Bakersfield has been amazing. Madisyn at the front desk has been so helpful and lovely. I had a massage today with Cat and my neck and shoulder pain are gone. she is wonderful!!!!!! My facial with Aries was very relaxing and she knew exactly what my skin needed.

Ive been to many massage places.in Bakersfield. Madisyn and Joey were the best! When I signed up Madisyn helped me through the entire process. They even book on the weekends late. I had a massage with Joey at 5 on a Saturday. He is a truly a godsend. I have MS and have been in chronic pain for years. Since my first massage I have been pain free! So worth it in my book!

It was very difficult to schedule appointments so we cancelled our membership. We had many hours to our credit which we had 60 days to use. Again, difficult to schedule our unused credits and several times when we did have appointments they were cancelled by Massage Envy because they didnt have staff. However, they did not extend our 60 day limit to use our credits. I would not recommend

The services themselves are great however good luck booking an appointment. Unable to book anything less than 2 months in advance. And even if you do get it book, its likely to be cancelled at the last minute. Youre better off booking through an individual rather than a chain. My wife and I were members for several years, this was not a unique experience.

I have had two facials with Tasha and absolutely loved her! I feel so relaxed and refreshed every time. She is always checking to make sure everything is okay and is extremely knowledgeable about what types of treatments are best. I highly recommend her!

I love this place! amazing service providers! Jessica the esthetician always meets and exceeds my expectations. I leave feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. Definitely recommending to my friends and family.

I had an amazing experience @ Massage Envy @ The Marketplace. Im a big fan of self care & whenever I get the opportunity to pamper myself I will. Came to visit family & friends from AZ to Bakersfield & jump on the opportunity to get a massage. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by friendly & professional staff. Maria was my therapist & she was absolutely awesome. I will definitely schedule more appointments in the future. Highly recommend everyone to visit this location & treat yourself to an amazing massage! I felt like new & Maria targeted my problem stress areas.

The assistant manager, Leanne, Malorie, and Gina are so welcoming, kind, accommodating, and extremely knowledgeable. I always feel so calm and comfortable at this location. 10/10 recommend!

Everything about my experience was wonderful I came in with neck pain and the massage therapist Chris was amazing and I feel so much better and Madisyn at the front desk was so lovely and now I’m a member I can’t wait to come back!!

Oh my goodness, I just had the best facial treatment! Jana was an amazing esthetician and the atmosphere in her room along with her calm demeanor made it a very enjoyable experience. She was beyond professional and I truly trusted her in the process. I absolutely recommend this place and I give her a ten out of ten!!!!

Was disappointed. Was quoted a couple of times how much it was going to cost, and even when making the appointment for 1.5 hour massage, I was quoted the same price that was quoted before the massage and then afterwards it cost a LOT. poor customer service. Will not return. Also, massage wasn’t worth the cost

I had a great facial treatment there. The staff were wonderful and helpful. The treatment was very relaxing and these days everyone needs to relax or learn how too.

I had an appointment for Saturday at 8pm. When I showed up receptionist said my therapist called in sick and no one else was available to give me a massage. They claimed they called that morning and left a message but it was absolutely a lie. I am furious and dissapointed. I was unable to reschedule with anyone else due to their negligence. I really needed it because Im 7 months pregnant and have sciatica! I was offered no apology or compensation. I absolutely will never be going here or recommending them. Stay away from this unprofessional place!

Been around few other place in town. So far the best one, great place.

Wish I could leave no stars. Management is awesome but unfortunately they can only do so much. The massages arent very good and there is no wiggle room to get out of the yearly contract even when you are dissatisfied with the services. Dont bother calling corporate cause they just put you on the back burner took them a week and half to get back to me. I ended up talking to Tesa the district manager who apparently is the owner cause she said I couldnt speak with any higher ups. I never once asked for my money back just the permission to transfer all of them to different people, but now dealing with all of this I should start asking for my money back since no one is doing their job besides the manager.

Im in town visitng family. Chris was my therapist. He is so great! Very communicative throughout the session to make sure my comfort and pressure was where I needed it to be. Highly recommend.

The massage was really good for me. I think the guys name was Chris. But my bf didnt like his experience at all. He got massaged by someone named Naomi.I felt so good after ward and refreshed.

I have been a member of massage envy for some time and having moved to Bakersfield 5 years ago I have had to obtain my massages when I travelled out of town.Having this location here is very convenient and the staff is very polite (something that is a bit amiss in this town).The two therapist I have had to date have been great and I look forward to continuing to visit this location.Thank you for doing a great job soo far.

I would not recommend this spa. Their aestheticians call out way too much. I have had their spa membership for one month now and have not even been able to get in for a facial or massage because they have had to reschedule me 5 times now and counting. I will be cancelling my membership and going somewhere else.

I love getting my facials with Melanie! She is clearly passionate about what she does, but doesnt try to push products on you that she knows you wont get. She does recommend things that would be beneficial, but it never seems disingenuous. She is so friendly and I love my girl time with her when Im getting services.

I was waiting to get a facial when someone came to the waiting area and told me to keep it down. I usually dont talk on the phone but I was alone. I think they should have better sound proof system or they should say no talking.

Ive been a member at massage envy for many years and have enjoyed as I traveled. Very convenient locations and professional staffs. Im super excited that there is one in Bakersfield. The aromatherapy is excellent.

Membership is not worth it. You will have to book a month in advance since they are always booked and there is a high chance the massage therapist will call out.

Went in for a couples massage, wish the layout was different. Felt like a regular massage

I go here every month. They charge ny crdit card because I agreed to have monthly service, facial or body massage, which I like best. There are cheaper place in town but will not be as clean and great as their service.I highly recommend this place for pampering needs.

Not very customer service oriented. I walked in and nobody acknowledge d that I was there. After 5 mins someone came to my table.vI seated myself. The Samosas and Pakoras were cold. The food tasted ok, a little spicy for me.

Front desk is so friendly it was my first time here and they checked me in before I even got in. My therapist Marlene was good and I enjoyed the massage.

This place is fantastic! Front desk is kind, helpful and very pleasant. Messages were absolutely awesome. Its very clean also. Very good atmosphere. Will be returning often.

None of the therapist stay, they have a high turnover so its hard to get the best massage ., if you are constantly changing therapists.

I took my daughter here for a facial for the very 1st time and they were amazing with her Michelle in particular was outstanding and very kind and gentle the office staff Was just as kind and helpful thank you very much

Their deals are scams, i was told my membership was over, just found out ive been being charged for last 6 months. Dont go here there is alot of cheaper, better places in town.

Gina is an absolute miracle worker! I am only in town for 3 more months, and I will continue to see her on a regular basis.

Company charges your credit card without providing any services. Say they will return it. They dont. Crooks! Thieves! Avoid at all cost!

My appointment was at 9:00am and they are not even open and its almost 9:30 they sent me a email to confirm my appointment and called me twice yesterday to tell me my appointment is at 9:00am on 9/23/16.

Its always busy. Appointments are months out.

Unfortunately, I have to rate Massage Envy Bakersfield 1 star not because of the massage, but because of the management. Connie was an amazing masseuse! Most definitely ask for her! However, the manager was overwhelmingly rude and she was extremely disrespectful when it came to membership plans. Snarky remarks on the phone were extremely unwarranted. I really wanted to like this place, and I did when it came to the massage! However, I will not be returning.
