Good club but they should let you renew your room . Where do you go at 2 am when they dont. Thank you Suggestion have more light. That way you see what you are getting. Very good club. Needs better lighting

The Staff is always friendly!! The hallway can smell like feet at times, def recommend wearing Sandles!! Rooms are generally kept pretty clean, Steamroom is always fun! Parking is usually not too bad!! Usually a good variety of guys!

Many rooms, good sauna, nice jacuzzi, nice showers, interesting but cramped dark area, neat open play area.. and a nice big tv .. good dry sauna too. I believe only traditional bathhouse in Bay Area. Also good discounts for certain groups. And not excessive fees.

It’s sometimes alright guys there are picky, stuck up, but could be like a banana root beer float or sometimes can get lucky and feel like your best friend is the banana republic store.

We visited yesterday night! The place is amazing, clean and full of action! As Europeans we had to get used to the rooms idea but my god what a well done concept! At the end we had problem calling an Uber and I really have to thank Darnell that was working there, he paid for our Uber and we paid him today! Super friendly guy with a good heart and a big smile

Wouldnt let me inside. Told to call general manager. Not told why. Rude clerk at intake window. After S.F. PRIDE parade. Im permanently disabled and needed hot tub. Been customer here for 27 years never had a single problem. Drove 135 miles to get there. Night manager No help at all. Happy Pride guys...NOT!

Horrible front desk service. First time at a bathhouse and want to get a tour a view of the place to see if this is something for me. I was charge daily rate to get a vib of the place which I didnt mind. I looked around because I was curious of the gym equipment the bathhouse had. It was small but I didnt mind.Then I went to leave and the front desk made it all weird by asking if wanted to stay. I told him all I wanted to do was check out the place, thats all. I was not prepared to stay and use the bathhouse. I decided to just join 24h hour fitness.

Over all amazing experiences in there. The floor, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi are all very clean. I can’t stand sticky floors and non of their floors were sticky. That a big plus. Will recommend to everyone.

Ive had similar experiences to other reviewers with their rude front desk staff. They do not make you feel welcomed. I came here with my partner a few years ago and it was our first time and the guy at the desk was very condescending. Seems like he might still be there. Have not been back since then.

It was a really busy but Ross at the front desk was so nice and took the time to explain how everything worked. Atmosphere was great and would recommend going… also the music was great!

I spent the weekend in town from the Midwest where we no longer have these type of clubs, and gotta say it was very enjoyable. Plenty of guys to look at, chat with and of course enjoy company with. Didnt see any problems or issues and the staff was happy and smiling and provided excellent service.The only issue I would say I found was you need to get smaller towels. Not everyone has a 60 inch waist which is what those towels you use are for. And you kept running out due to how busy it was which hey...thats a great problem to have! But seriously. Buy more smaller ones.Great job!

I was mainly in my large room busy all night with a bottom friend. When I did finish and walked around the bathhouse was packed. A good place to unwind is the sauna or jacuzzi pool. Let the jetstreams hit your pets or back and the steam room heat you up again for another round or two..in the back of the bathhouse is my favorite. Putting the bench or sling to good use if someone is on it waiting and already to go.....put in a show....thank god the bench is bolted down, I can go real rough pounding hard now and not have to worry about the bench breaking..... seems made just for me...now I can really work over a willing volunteer on the receiving end

Minus a star for the snub nose front desk boys (you know who you are) but 4 stars for the hella sweet employees who make up for where their colleagues lack.

Extremely rude front desk people. I understand that this is not white glove service but the front desk staff was completely condescending and incredibly hard to work with. Over complicating the situation and making us feel like we were doing something wrong. Not to mention misleading. When ask how was inside they say “super busy” and only like 2-3 people there.

First time at this location. Great music, the DJs really know their craft. The staff were very helpful and made me feel welcomed. The facilities could use some upkeep.

They were doing so well after the pandemic with getting rid of rude staff who bring the chip on their shoulder to work, but they are returning. My expectations are realistic for a bathhouse, I dont expect white glove service nor do I come with any attitude, but there some employees who need to start up conflict for no reason. Like the tall curly haired guy on weekends. Asked him why the vibe and he gives you a typical Bay Area passive-aggressive nonresponse and walks away after he starts something out of nothing. Its 2022 take those mental health issues to therapy not out on paying members of the community in this supposed safe place where people just want to have a good time.

Pros: exciting, new, interesting experience. Clean well built facility from what I could tell.Cons: No sharing of locker or rooms. Why were my partner and I forced to get a separate locker/room for ourselves individually? Why cant we choose just one and share? Felt money grab in my opinion. I clarified this twice explicitly asking if it was required and was told yes in no uncertain terms.If you want more money just raise your day pass price and include the locker or room in your membership fee which is already on top of the required room or locker.

Nice vibe, good range of men, most people handle themselves well and the facilities are nice as well. Especially love the hot tub and steam room this time of year. Busy times are great, but some of my best experiences have happened in off hours like weekday afternoons and evenings. The staff tends to be cool, friendly and flirty. Always nice to go back.

The worst experience ever in my life. I came here for travel and my first time to bath. The stuff just refused to let me in just because I got a little big backpack. I dont understated why he was so rude to me and threatened me to leave immediately. It was rainning outside and I got nowhere else to stay over the night

First time to Steamworks for my husband and I. I was a bit nervous and apprehensive. Upon arriving, Daniel was very accommodating and helpful! While waiting for a standard room, I didn’t realize I needed to bring my belongings from the locker prior to handing my locker key in exchange for a room key. Again, Daniel was very patient with me. It took me about an hour to orient myself with the layout. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. The only thing I need to point out is the mirrors at the end of some of the passageways, they’re misleading and you can “bump” into it!! LOL!! 😂😂😂Overall, I had a very pleasant time. A lot of diverse men of different ethnicities. As we left at about 2:30 am, there was a long line outside for waiting patrons to enter... WOW!!!A little tired this Sunday morning but extremely relaxed! We definitely will return back!!! Thank you.

The few times I’ve been here after the renovation, have been nothing but pleasant. They keep it clean, orderly and updated - compared to other sex clubs in the Bay Area. The staff is friendly and accommodating. A little kindness and courtesy goes a long way. You get what you put out. I’m a big fan of “Lights Out Thursday”... where the whole place is in low to no lighting & everything else is left to your imagination. But their weekends are good too. Whether I go early or after midnight, it’s still fun. Probably the only thing that may ruin the experience, which is of no fault of the establishment, are the very few patrons whom are either too aggressive & doesn’t easily get the body language that means NO! or complete douchebags who thinks very highly of themselves. Otherwise, cum & join the fun and be safe!

I dont recommend it, theres a huge queue to get in, theres no room, youre on a waiting list and the room leaves almost when youre leaving. They reduced the length of stay from 8 hours to 6 hours, and didnt lower the price, and you still cant renew your time after checkout. I dont recommend it, I was this Saturday to Sunday it was 6 am they didnt want to renew my time with the sauna empty. I do not recommend at the moment, sauna without parking at the moment without parking spaces in front of stret

Everything is perfect, but the unprofessional customer service of the big staff is alarming. the attitude of disrespect we receivedand poor customer experience. He slows down the team to strive for higher standards. Being probably the youngest guy at the place when I went (19), here is my review. I went during gay pride, it was packed, many rooms were on waitlist already and it was barely noon! Anyways, checking in took longer than expected but it was a holiday. The staff I wouldn’t say is rude they try to disconnect themselves with what is going on in there, if they become too nice people might get the wrong message or they’ll think they can do whatever they want. I could see what they mean though, maybe a just a smile could help that way people don’t get the wrong message. The back of the place wasn’t for me but I mean others seemed to like it! I liked the gym though nice touch. The place has a classy but upbeat kinda vibe. Everyone was super respectful made it more fun. The sauna was nicer than expected, the showers were nice too. The lockers walkways were iffy they’re really narrow. The only thing that put me off was the smell coming from the restrooms, well because you know... maybe install this automatic air fresheners? The prices were okay, I like the prices because if it was cheaper than some sketchy people would probably come in. I would say come after 4pm if you’re looking for a big crowd but then you would probably be stuck checking in. Anyways nice experience met a nice dude to play with, I was satisfied. A bit intimidating at first but it’s really a fun place even if you don’t have se*, would definitely come back. I didn’t explore the lounge area! I will need to come back soon 🤟🏽

Staff is more friendly than rude for the most part, it’s a clean environment, no nasty poop, pee or bleach odor. Lots of diversity of guys. It gets better in the weekends. Met nice guys there from other cities and countries there.

Usually i enjoy this place. Last night I realized that music is a key factor to the overall mood. Usually electronic dj sets are being streamed but last night it was an employees song playlist . Just felt like the wrong vibe 😑

Great! Best Bath House in the United States. Fun Friendly Staff. Very well maintained. Bring your own Flip-flops/Shower Shoes. Nice gym, Jacuzzi, Steam Room & Sauna are very nice. Membership works in Chicago, Puerto Rico, and Toronto for those who travel. If you come before 10pm you can park in the lot next to building.Very modern and sleek. Sex is a plus not a must. For those of us who like to simply relax and unwind. Great neutral meeting place. Students get a discount which brings great eye candy. Dont be a wuss, Man Up and Go.

Went today 8/27/22 not the best welcome from staff went there around 1230pm i came there from fairfield ca ask staff member if i could someone to show me around he didntFalse advertisement when they say food bar . The food bar is vending machine. Other members will bump into and just walk off and dont say sorry. The shower room small rooms are small steam room are small. Not worth the time and money i wont go there again

Remodeled to bring it up to local codes and the aesthetic standards of similarly-branded venues across the country. While it maintains the basic form, the refit makes this the premiere sauna, closest to San Francisco, and definitely worth checking out.Moderately priced dressing rooms are quite handy if you plan on being there more than thirty minutes, and the gym is actually well appointed, with lots of availability (mirroring the clientele.)Some nights get quite busy, with competition for rooms practically requiring the optional VIP membership which earns priority status on any waiting list. Eight hours is standard for the maximum time allowed for one stay, and two stays back to back is allowed, with absolutely no tolerance for anything beyond (ordinance requires the staff to be quite efficient at keeping you compliant).Even so, the staff are overwhelmingly very professional and courteous, even when the rare guest decides not to be. Lots of fun, and maintained well, even if a little grid-like and smallish compared to others bearing the same name.

Its by far the cleanest and largest sex venue in the SF area. Granted, its a bit of a drive or BART ride from SF, but its often worth it. Sunday afternoons for Sunday Service are by far the best. Weeknights are pretty dead; Fridays and Sat are moderately busy, though late Saturday night is busy. On Sundays Ive seen some of the hottest guys in SF, who Ive only ever seen at the gym or whatnot and wouldnt think theyd go to a sex venue. Most people are friendly and playful and I usually have a good time.I dock one star because the whole check in/out and the various rooms and upgrades is so time consuming and cumbersome. It can take several minutes to check out. When youre ready to go, youre ready to go. It can take 10-20 min to check in depending how busy they are.

Two points1.) Even after renovation, the area around the urinals is disgusting. You can’t get to a urinal without walking in piss. It’s only a three star club at best.2.)in addition, while most of their management is great. There are those who really need to brush up on interpersonal skills to be in the position they’re in. Everyone would benefit.

Steamworks BerkeleyA very upscale and clean place to workout.I go there often. The staff are courteous. It has a resort like feel... I hate to leave there, but I am always happy at the end.

Overall it is a clean and friendly environment. The staff was extremely friendly and professional except for one clerk. 4 stars to the slender young man and the female clerks. The other clerk needs customer service training.

The check in guy hes name Carlos small guy with beard was absolutely the jerk with bad attitude 9 out of 10 times. The only smile face you ever going to see when hes with co-workers joke around or a few latinos customer. When it come to most customers he will treat you with bad attitude and rude. I hope that I dont have to see him again as a jerk.Talk to customer very rudely make you feel like you are not wellcome here.Most of the time never smile (Sour Face) 9 out of 10 time. I was here last weekend, this is hands down the best bathhouse Ive ever been to. Ive only been to the ones in LA and Vegas, but this one beats them, no competition. The guys are great and the staff is friendly. The place itself is amazing and clean, way more luxurious than I expected.

Was there last Monday, 10/9, night. I like this place, always clean and staff very friendly. However, when I was ready to check out, OMG the employee behind the counter made me feel so uncomfortable. It was around five am. The moment he open the box to give me my valuables, he gave me the look, he didnt take his eyes of me. I sat in the lobby to wait for Uber and he didnt stop staring at me. I felt so uncomfortable that I just left and I waited outside. I know that it was early and he might have been tired, but thats not the customer fault. I am a manager myself and I know that sometimes is hard to handle people, but if u dont like ur job get a job somewhere else. Dont know if I wanna go back again. After years of coming here, this is the first time I felt that way. Train ur people the right way please.

I had a very pleasant experience at Steamworks in any of my two visits there. The place is nicely cared for and contains both some spacious/open areas (whirlpool, gym, dressing area) and some more cozy ones (saunas, dark rooms, etc). The guys around were really nice, overall. Being already in my mature years, I have felt in many other saunas to be looked upon as being out of place for this reason, but none of this happened at Steamworks: I had great times with guys of a wide range of ages. My main reason for not giving five stars is the reduced dimension of the public video viewing area, basically a bench in front of a couple of screens---it would be very nice to have a video room where people could closely share (and more...) the viewings.

Raised my Review to 4 ****.However, ironically and annoyingly, in this Bath house club, several of the shower valves have been malfunctioning since the $$$mega renovation!How long and how $much does it take to replace a shower valve?!Updated above:Hoping that, post Pandemic opening, Management has taken pro-active measures to correct few concerning issues specially in the area of customer welcoming and servicing so guests feel welcomed, appreciated and respected.These rude, disrespectful clerks need to remember where their paycheck is coming from!2 years ago Review: The set of showers between the steam rooms have deteriorating hot/cold valves that are acting up and you could hardly keep the hot water to stay hot!Update on the showers as of 9-10-22:More shower valves are going out - the water is now coming down as a stream not a shower 🚿 .... I have been to steamworks in Chicago, Toronto, and Vancouver. I do not understand why the line in this one hasn’t advanced a single person 20 minutes. Meanwhile, random people who have not waited in line have just skipped the entire line because they knew the individuals working the counter. This was the most disgusting display of making the line long while holding everybody back. I have not seen such shady behavior from any other steamworks. The worst by far.

Ive not been to Steamworks since before the pandemic. I have a disability and I have never felt unwelcome there.

Went for the first time, a let me just say i wasnt nervous upon entering but a little apprehensive. Since i figured i drove an hour and half to get there let it be worth my wild. There were different variety of men it was dim and kind of quiet which makes the place a little more at ease. I have never tookin that much of a shower in my life glad i was able to do a lil touching and groping witbout bein turned down. I mainly went to observe and to get a feel of the place not to engage in any sexual contact, the staff was cool. Not too fond of the steam room simply because i hate bein hot maby ill have to get use to it idk. But over all it was a fun experience and i planned to go more often.

Service was excellent while the manager was there friday morning. Once he left for the day, the staff became caddy and short tempered. They changed my room to a monitorable location near the front desk due to my company and even raised the price of my renewals. Definitely the best spa ive been to in my life but the customer service could use a pick me up and some good event planning and discounts for younger clientele would definitely increase their foot traffic.

Some of the worst service I have ever received! Im usually on the fence about going as the half the staff always seem bothered that they have to be there and the mix of guys tend to lean more twords double my age (50+) but will when I go, I accpect that the establishment would be interested in making sure everyone is in a safe space and no one gets hurt.I do not believe that is the case anymore after my last experience there. After running into a wall (due to the poorly lit hallways with no way to identify where anything is) I went back to my room to lay down for a little as I was getting a headacke. Next thing I know, a staff member angerly is waking me up and saying I was late for my check out... Looking at the time I was almost 5 hours late for my check out and last time I had checked, I still had a few hours left.... They proceeded to charge me for the extra time I had spent and when I had asked why no one had come to my room earlier to see if I was to check out or find out why I had not extended my time there as for saftey measures to make sure I was okay, I received the asnwer of its not our responsibility to make sure you check out on time.I see that a dollar to then is more important than anything else.

Today at 10:45pm, I decided to come visit all the way From San Jose, as I was getting in, a kind person with a mask on and with a small pony tail was letting me know that it was impossible for me to get in cause in case of an accident blablabla, I understand that, but also Im a grown up and i was willing to follow directions, as I was saying thank you, the curly guy, I think he works in front of the stair line, came to repeat the same info I had already been told, I told him if he was done repeating the same stuff I had already listened to, he should go back to work cause there was a huge line, he yelled at me, and started shouting súper loud, like four times GET OUT OF THERE NOW, GET OUT GET OUT, I dont know what his problem is but he shouldnt treat people like that, everyone was staring at me and I had to leave like a cheap rat.You should change the name to Steamy Staff.He needs medication. Grame I think its his name.Check the cameras that guy shouldnt go stop a coworkerb job, even if hes the manager he should have social skills, and if hes the owner he should know that costumers are important for a business

A laid back place for men to go and commune with one another. Facilities include a large in ground jacuzzi, showers, steam room, sauna, full gym, and quiet, dark areas that catch your attention and curiosity. Weekend rates for rooms and lockers are more expensive.

Only facility of its kind in the SF bay area (WaterGarden is 50 miles south in San Jose). Friendliness of staff can range from excellent to terrible depending on whos working. Very clean and now wheel-chair accessible since last remodel including wheel-chair accessible shower, dry sauna and steam room.Thursdays are popular (lights out/down), Saturdays are very busy and it can be difficult to get a room if you arrive late (post-10 pm) unless you purchase a (EXPENSIVE) V.I.P. membership. Sunday afternoons are also popular and busy.

Hello everyone,I was recently at Steam Works a few days ago and found out that after leaving there and getting home I took a bath and found some weird bugs on my body and clothes. They were small, about the size of a freckle. I am bewildered and wondering if I will return to this place.Thank you.

I think its time for Steamworks to shut its doors completely. The staff and management are unprofessional they way they treat their customers. Recently, now Steamworks have banned people for no reason, just be making up random lies to ban them. As well, continuous bad maintenance throughout the building. Its an old wearhouse that needs to be shut down. Ive visited other Steamworks and its way better than Berkeley. Hope the City of Berkeley will investigate this horrible company and shut it down!!!

It’s much improved since they added the dry sauna and updated the steam room. The back area still needs some work. Bear parties on 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month are great!! Sunday afternoons are very busy!

Its not what Im used to but you got to love the dark cave like atmosphere, sure you run into your trolls and dwarves, but every so often you find that co©k (I mean hidden treasure) you were looking for. But go big or go home and invest in the bigger rooms, guaranteed good time. The staff is also very very friendly, not the most experienced in setting up a sling but they try.

In from Utah, took a Lyft ride from San Francisco which ended up costing me $30, called ahead of time and everything sounded like it would work fine with my temporary drivers license (which is all Utah gives for ~6 weeks until your real license comes in the mail) and only once we got there did they tell me that they could not accept this valid state issued photo id because it was on paper and California no longer does temporary ids.

Whoever answers the phone should be replaced. This was on Feb 2nd at 11:40p. Horrible customer service and very rude. Looks like this business might not be in business within a few years. Sad that when people have the opportunity to own their own business they let it go to trash. I won’t even go now from the phone interaction I had. Disappointed.

Zose the gm is a real creep and bully. They ban for no reason. They steal from your cc .and if you dare complain they extort you.Just don’t go.

Membership card required even for one day at 5 dollars in addition to the entrance fee. Guys who for my tastes are not very good looking (a Saturday night in Folsom). Disappointing.

Rude employees. Cabins are all paid... they make you pay for them even if they dont guarantee them... they put you on a waiting list and if you leave (after 5 hours) when its not your turn yet they dont give you your money back... terrible

Cabins all have to be paid for, unfortunately to access them you have to wait in a long queue... After 5 hours I couldnt use the cabin which they still made me pay for.... Terrible
