I loved every bit of it! I went in a late afternoon with my family . We had the option to sit in the street or the patio. Our food came after 9 minutes , even though it was busy. Servers were very nice and menu were QR codes. It was a great experience, we took the family platter , i think it was $30 ! It was the best thing ever!
We recently visited Brickside to take advantage of their Wednesday Wing Night and we will definitely be back! We wings were great and they have a good amount of options as well. They have a nice size menu so you always try something news! The wings were hot and fresh and the service was very friendly. They are also Covid19 ready by making visitors feel comfortable and safe by using a designated pick up area and their employees were using masks. Super friendly staff as well! Our team cant wait to visit again(:
We were really hopeful that this would be a new brunch spot but unfortunately the food was SEVERELY overcooked and dry.The good: The service was great and the seating by the window is perfect for a sunny weekend morning. Pricing is reasonable as well. The bad: I had fried chicken Benedict and fried pickles and my friend had old bay chicken wings and a Pepsi. Everything had something wrong. The Pepsi was flat. The old bay chicken wings were so dry she only ate two. My fried chicken was so dry that I couldn’t cut through it. The biscuit crumbled when I tried to cut it and there wasn’t enough gravy to coat over the fact that the biscuit tasted like cardboard. The fried pickles were okay but the pickles below the top 5 were greasy and soggy and fell apart as soon as you touched them. Neither of us are more than 4 bites and no one asked about the food or quality. The ideas are good, the execution was awful though.
Unfortunately they are severely understaffed. No one took my order, I literally had to walk to the kitchen to order food. The servers literally never came to my table and were too busy socializing with each other. The was pretty bad also. The wings were cold, and the burger was just soggy and warm. The entire staff was rude when you tried to talk to them, the only bright spot in the customer service was the friend bartender. Everyone else was just as awful as their food.
Only giving 2 because the crab dip was good. service was absolutely terrible. we waited over 90 mins for our appetizer (in wasn’t even busy). the crab dip appetizer was great but sadly not enough to return. the fired pickles were not good. the breading that was barely there was not even attached to the pickle. it was pickle with a side a fried batter. my poor pregnant friend couldn’t even get a mocktail. she also ordered a chicken cheesesteak. they brought out a steak & cheese & gaslighted her telling it was chicken. the nachos were dry & the flatbread tasted like paper. not worth the hassle.
We ordered a bounce of food last night. On of them was Salmon. First we got it and we told the server the salmon was bad . when we had a bite, the salmon was smells. We returned it. After that the manager walked over to talk with us and said they just shipped the salmon today, and I said but anyway it’s smells you can try it. And they made a new one for us, but it’s still a spoiled salmon.Other food was fine.
The most amazing service and great food. Amazing place to have a private party. The manager Rob goes above and beyond. The bartenders and servers are the nicest and happiest around. The food manager did everything we asked for the party and everyone loved the food. Everyone who came to my party said this was such a great party and the service was BEYOND A+++. 100% recommend.
Our server was very knowledgeable about the beer selection and recommended some good drinks for us to try. The crushes are fantastic and all the food we tried was good as well - including the mushroom flatbread and chicken sandwich. Service was quick, friendly and attentive the whole way through.
Our new favorite happy hour spot! The food is good and the atmosphere is even better. Nice to have a late night spot for young people in Bethesda, even during the week. Johnny at the bar is awesome! We will be regulars!
Brunch service is all kinds of bad. Never got water refills. My mimosa took 35 minutes. The server brought a round for the table that had ordered easily 20-25 minutes after I had, and when I asked for mine she said it’s coming… 🧐 I did not have bottomless but a few at my table did, and they did not deliver. They only had one server, and the lack of volume for brunch says a lot about quality of food and service…
Very nice atmosphere. If Im honest, a loyal group of us wish you wouldnt turn soccer off on just one TV in the middle of the game. Pretty sure you know we watch frequently. We get that the NFL is a bigger draw, but there were 20 minutes left and there are many other TVs. Kinda coldblooded dontcha think?
Great experience, I visited on a Sunday afternoon after a not so good experience and atmosphere at another neighbor sports bar. Staff were friendly, outgoing, and made my visit excellent; Especially Pat! The wings were amazing, and their dessert options were too. Will definitely come back for other games.
My all time favorite spot in Bethesda. Their food is great and their drinks are also great of course. Very friendly and hospitable staff. Cool & casual relaxing ambiance with good music. Their salad and calamari are my usual favorite appetizers. Always a great time here its kind of like the cheers bar of Bethesda where everyone knows your name.
Very average bar. The nachos are horrible. We got the chicken nachos for $15 and they might actually be some of the worst nachos I have ever had. The sour cream, wasn’t sour cream, it was some sour sauce, the chips at the very top were the only ones that had any ingredients on it, but every ingredient was barely on the nachos. The worst part was the burned chips. They tasted awful. The pitcher of mimosas wasn’t bad, and pancakes we good, needed butter, tatter tots were too salty. Probably won’t be back. Service was also extremely slow.
Very cool place for a drink and some good food. I went last Monday and it is happy hour all night, which is awesome. There is a spacious bar and the bartender asked and remembered our names right away which was nice, but I feel bad because I forgot his right away haha! The Buffalo chicken dip was pretty awesome and everything else I saw coming from the kitchen looked good too. Definitely a good place for a drink and watching a game
Great spot. Excellent cocktails and beer selection. Just had the appetisers but they were all delicious. The wings are true Buffalo style! I will be back soon. Brian the bartender is awesome!
Just stopped in for lunch with my husband and my mother-in-law and the food was awesome! We had the Quebano, the Twin Peaks, and the Ranch Chicken sandwich, so tasty! The sweet potato fries where delicious too! The service was great, greeting us at the door and quickly getting our drink orders! What a great place to hang out and eat! Thanks, Brickside Bethesda!
Came here for a lunch, around 1pm, and along with one other table it was just my friend and I! The waitress was AMAZING. She gave us great recommendations and told us what was good and what was not so good. If you come before 3, you’re able to get everything at happy hour price, so about $10 for entree with side. The food was amazing. Try the ranch chicken sandwich no doubt! We tried their new dessert, which was deep fried Oreos. When we first heard this, we immediately thought carnival style which turned our stomachs. But, these things are to die for! They add powdered sugar and just a little chocolate syrup which makes for the perfect small dessert after a lunch portioned meal. Great atmosphere, staff, food, and there’s street parking as well! If you’re looking for a quick and relatively cheap ($28 for two people) meal, brickside is a must!
We went for my husbands birthday last night. It was our first time there and we had a large party. Everyone from the GM, asst GM, and servers were very accommodating!!! They all made sure we were taken care of! The food was delicious, especially the buffalo dip!! Everyone was very pleased with the service and food! We will be coming back! Cheers to Brickside!!
I went to this place when it first opened and thought it was so-so. The drinks were great and the food was average. Unlike other places in Bethesda this restaurant & bar has drastically improved with time. Not that it was bad at first but now it is great! Food is the best in Bethesda, drinks are spot on and the service was very attentive. I will always pick Brickside as my go to place in Bethesda. Get the wings and a burger -- you will not be disappointed!
Loved the atmosphere. I went right before dinner time, around 530 pm, on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of seats were available. But decided to sit at the bar since I was alone. Staff was very friendly and courteous. They did mix up my order with food. But literally within 8 mins. I had the correct plate. So not complaining at all. Thats actually pretty awesome considering they had to cook it. Lol
Went there to order the steak and cheese sandwich two days ago, bad experience.I entered and stood at the hosts table waited a out a minute then a server came and I placed my order to go, I told the server that I will be back in 10 minutes or so.I came back, stood at that same spot, a few seconds later a couple stood behind me. The three of us were standing there waiting for a host or server to come by.About a minute later a server came and greeted the couple behind me and asked them where they would like to sit and escorted them to thier table. He totally ignored me as if I was invisible. When he came back to me I asked him what was that about, he acted like nothing had happened, so I asked him to call his manager. The manager came, I told him what happened, his explanation was that, oh sorry about that but this was no problem because that server is a good worker and of course he didnt mean anything by that action and I shouldnt read too much into it, basically just get over it. I couldnt believe what I was hearing from this manager. Any how, the manager said, OK fine I will pay for your order and thats all, have a nice day sir and walked off..Bad experience, will never go back there again.
A nice open layout sports bar with tons of TVs, good beer selection and cocktails, and good food. The food tends to be more bar / app oriented, but you can easily put together a full meal. The Brussels sprouts are very good. Wings are mediocre as are salads. Burgers are very good as are flatbreads (pizzas). The kids’ menu is standard (chicken fingers, pizza, etc.), and the place is very kid friendly. Trivia night is very popular.
Have been coming here for a couple years now. I have my favorite bartenders and they always ask me how my lifes going as if I never left. They are great, food is amazing! Good for sports on a sunday or hanging out on a saturday night and listening to some nice music. As a vegetarian I love the buffalo cauliflower (cant wait for them to maybe bring in the beyond burger?) Love this place 😊
The menu and specials arent the reason I frequent this bar. I cant say anything positive about any of them. Its all about the people. The bartenders are consistent and over the top friendly. The patrons are regular and having a good time. They play music sufficiently loud enough for everyone to have a good time till way too late in the morning every night. If its late and youre not ready to go home in Bethesda then youll be at Brickside.
This was a solid American bar. Its the only place Ive tried in Bethesda that does nachos correctly. (If you can easily count the number of chips or if youre using Velveeta cheese, then youre doing it wrong.) The wings were solid, and the brussel sprouts were great!
This feels like a college bar tried to grow up and not really change much. The drinks (ordered two different crushes) were way too sweet. Surprisingly the bar food was ok and the atmosphere was fun, but definitely rowdy like a college bar. I recommend the buffalo fried cauliflower and the tots were pretty good.
Good place to meet up with coworkers after work for a drink. I have had mixed service here which gives it 3 stars not 4. There seems to be some confusion with the staff, and the food could use some improvements. However on nice days it opens up to the outdoors and has a good young crowd.
I visited a number of times over a years period and have had a mixed bag of experiences ranging from good to pretty bad. General impressions:PROs: Food is usually good quality. Plenty of TVs that can be tuned to different sports. Fairly good beer selection.CON: Service has been very inconsistent, often poor. Long waiting periods (like an hour+) between getting in and actually getting any service/food.Overall, they could greatly improve the experience by having more available staff.
Cool, trendy place to go. Service and food needs some work. When I walked in, no one was there to greet me. I kinda wandered in until someone realized I needed a table. At the table, service wasnt quite attentive enough. It was a slow night, may have been understaffed. I did have a second server try to take my order, after I had already placed my order with another. The food was mediocre. The Chicken Parmigiana Sliders were not very good. The taste was meh, the texture was meh... Ive had better from fast food chains (much cheaper, too). It came with a bucket of fries that were nothing special. Just fried. The appetizer was ok. The breading on the cheese was really thin, not very flavorful. For the price, not impressed.
Very nice staff, probably a great place to hang out for drinks, but they desperately need better food.I never write about places but bland chicken tenders is a problem and old frozen wings is a kind of a low standard if not an insult to serve and charge.
Elevated bar food....everything we had was delicious! Will be my go to bar food joint from now on. If the music was turned down a bit, itd be a 5 star. That and we waited at our table for about 15 min before we had to grab a waiter. After that the service was excellent!Update: since covid weve ordered pick up a few times. Instead of hollandaise with the truffle fries we keep getting ketchup. Frustrating but the fries are delicious all the same.
Ive been here a few times and every time I leave unsatisfied. I had my Birthday brunch and while the waitress was nice she was overwhelmed by the amount of people in our party. The ran out of French Toast. When the bill came it was all screwed up and we actually ended up having to wait another 30 minutes to get it sorted out. I also came with co-workers for lunch the service was SLOW!!! The waiter was rude and the food was just okay. I dont think I will be coming back.
I give 1 star because the margarita was very good. I met a friend there on Sunday night 7/12/15, to have some drinks and get some burgers. I ordered my burger medium rare and my friend ordered his rare. The burgers came out and I took a bite and realized it was cooked well, as was my friends burger, so we sent them back. The burgers that came back out were cooked to temperature BUT had so much sodium on them (which the previous burger I took a bite out of didnt) that the only conclusion I could draw was either that their burgers are really that bad or the cook did something to them. Either way, I will not be eating here again.
Some of the slowest & worst service I have ever had.I was completely ignored when I was sitting at the bar and it wasn’t even busy when I first arrived.I’ve been to most of the restaurants and bars in the area and this one is one of the worst ones.I felt completely neglected. I know if the service was better and faster I would have bought another drink and more food but it took so long to get both.I had to get up and get my self a menu because no one gave me one. It took over 20 mins for anyone to even come up to me and ask what I wanted to drink or eat after I got myself the menu.I’ve been to this bar 2 or 3 other times and this is a reoccurring outcome from this bar.I walk out of this bar and feel worse then when I went in. I kept trying to give this place a chance but they are out of chances after this last visit.
Meh, I just had drinks here and was nonplussed. Service was okay, and it definitely serves a purpose in the Bethesda area. Certainly, it seemed crowded with happy customers, but in my opinion, it was pretty average and wasnt really worth the trip out of the city. Perhaps the food makes it worth it?
Had a couple drinks and an order of fries here with the gf; overall I had no real complaints except that the alcoholic punches they make are unreasonably weak for the price - I really just figured I paid $9 for kool-aid. Everything else was delicious, service was great, and we liked the atmosphere of the place with the windows open on a warm, sunny day.
The bar bites such as shrimp, nachos and calamari were good. The crab artichoke dip is tasty but you can not taste the crab at all. The Rico burger was dry as well as the wings as they didnt really have too much flavor.
Nothing personal. But you all dont provide non pork breakfast meat as an option. May that be a suggestion to add to your menu for the many NON pork eaters In this world. Turkey breakfast meat or chicken breakfast meat ie.bacon,sausage....to many times we are offered things like steak, smoked salmon or chicken tenders (out of all things) and all I want is a peice of NON PORK breakfast meat. Thanks in advance. Unfortunately this is why I wont be doing brunch here.
Let me start by saying the food is amazing and almost all the waiters and waitresses are. There is one individual who works at Brickside who is literally the worst server I have ever experienced in my life. He has curly hair and wears a head band so if you ever have him please ask for different server. We had 5 people sitting at our table one night when we went there so that was not much to handle. This guy got our individual checks wrong 5 times!!!! By the third time my friends girlfriend wrote all our orders down (which was a beer and food) and this guy still came back with the wrong checks.... Im like bro you gotta be kidding me. Came back again on the 4th try and it was still wrong. It took about 30 minutes to get all our checks right. Another waiter or waitress had to help him because he was clearly incapable of doing his job. Came back again and this guy is still working there. This dude actually needs to go. Hes terrible at his job. Sorry but no sorry.
I hold monthly luncheons and happy hour events at this location and the food is always great and the staff is very friendly. From wings and burgers to specialty pizzas... they do not disappoint. Cant wait for the next event.
Delicious food and drinks. Their burgers are tasty and tots are always a plus too! Good food and drink specials for happy hour Tue-Fri 3-7 and all day Monday!
The quality of the food is inconsistent so I stick to the basics: Their truffle fries a delicious. This is a great place to grab a bite to eat, a drink and watch a game (their huge projector screen is perfect for this!)
Do not eat here. The food was extremely low quality and poorly prepared. I ordered the salmon sandwich - the salmon (if it was even salmon, I suspect it may have been its cheaper cousin, char) was extremely fishy and clearly frozen. The bun was stale and the tomatoes were mushy. They covered the whole sandwich in Brickside sauce, which was some sort of mixture of siracha and mayonnaise (which you would think would taste good, but it was not). My dates dinner of chicken and waffles was just as bad - the chicken was poor quality and greasy, while the waffles were dry.The bar drinks I ordered were watery and bland. The beer on tap was the only part of the meal we finished. I will not return.
Had a terrible experience there last night. My friend ended up in the ER because they did not tell us there is peanut butter in the Barbacoa tacos. Nothing listed on the menu, the waiter didnt inquire about allergies. The manager, Jason, was very very rude and threatening to us. All he cared about is not getting sued, and not making it right with us. They didnt even comp the tacos at the end.
Bartenders have always been great, food is good. The late night crowd can get dicey tho, a guy followed me into the ladies room and was a total creep until I started yelling and someone came in.
The atmosphere was lively but relaxed. The small plates for brunch were absolutely delicious. And you must try their oreo cookie dessert!
Good bar food, server was cool (we got the infamous guy with the headband and curly hair from these comments) and had zero issues, great atmosphere to catch an NFL game
The burger was fine but the broccolini was ruined with excessive salt. The 2 ladies serving were very attentive and friendly. Lower your expectations on the food.
Ordered fries with cheeseburger. Burger was fine . The fries had a weird aftertaste but couldnt get refund . The chief was trying to say it naturally tasted like that .
Brickside is my Cheers. Been going here for years and so have many of my local friends. I live in the neighborhood and this is one of the best bars/restaurants in Downtown Bethesda/Woodmont Triangle.Great service, drink and food selections, happy hour specials, late nite menu and perfect for watching any sports with multiple TVs and a massive projector screen.Tyler, Pat and Matt are some of the best Bartenders in Bethesda. If you havent been here, def check it out! #thankmelater
Ive been to Brickside a few times, generally uneventful. Pretty standard bar food, generally speaking, but the experience we had the other night made me vow to never return here. Our friend has a peanut allergy. Nothing on the menu is listed as containing peanuts. She ordered the Barbacoa tacos. As soon as shed finished the first one, she realized something was wrong. She started to her mouth started to feel itchy. She asked the waiter if there were any peanuts in the taco, somehow, (because who puts peanuts in a barbacoa taco, right?) and the waiter said Not to my knowledge, but Ill check with the kitchen. Turns out, they use peanut butter in the preparation of the meat.We complained to the manager (his name is Jason), concerned for the other people with allergies who may frequent Brickside. He did not apologize. They offered to call an ambulance, but thats where the niceties ended. He said, Were following the law... as though that was supposed to make up for the fact that our friend was breaking out into hives. She went to the emergency room later that evening. They didnt even comp us the barbacoa tacos which caused the whole mess.Im guessing theyre not going to want to cover the emergency room bill, either.
Can be a hit or miss... Ive been there s few times... cant say Ive had any great experiences or memorable food there. . . But it seems popular... you might like it even if I didnt.
The house blended burgers are unblended, pre frozen patties. The ribs are pre bagged grocery store trash. The deserts are pre boxed just add water garbage. The menu is purposefully misleading. a waffle for 6 dollars at brunch is actually 2 quarters of a cheap/dry premix stacked one on top of another, fancy right? The glassware is improperly handled to where the lip of many glasses is placed where the bottom and lips of dirty glasses are placed before being filled. The prices are far too high for what is given. Hardworking Americans best go elsewhere.
Typical bar but the food is a step above what youd expect. Can be a bit crowded and loud at times. Ideal for co-workers for happy hour rather than a social gathering.
Food was good but not enough staff to serve and we left our food because we had show to attend in area and called right back while outside and they said they put in trash...how so fast when they didnt have staff to serve us fast enough but trash our food so fast that we boxed up and charged for wrong item on bill
Great food and service. Music and crowd were fun and since it was our first visit the manager offered us free dessert which was also delicious.
Terrible service was not asksed by a sever for a drink order for about 45 mins and then when another server came up I asked to speak with a manger and thia finally happens 30 mins later. Unbelievable, as I was very excited to try out their menu.
Food was great. The server was terrible; the host was basically our server. I dont drink but I noticed they had good happy hour deals FYI.
Hands down one of the most popular places in Bethesda. It attracts a younger crowd since they have such a great selection of food and drinks (and therefore a good selection of cheap food and drinks). On a side note, I came here to watch the election results. Needless to say, they have plenty of TVs and a projector that they can use to broadcast all sorts of things (e.g., sports duh).
The drinks and food were amazing. And our server was by far the best we have had in a minute.
Delicious, worth your while drinks with a PUNCHline. Best bartenders, Rico rocks! Great happy hour, with delicious meals! See for yourself
Really good happy hour specials including $5 burgers. Service was excellent and atmosphere was great.
Food and service are good. I have only been here for lunch, but I have seen the happy hour crowds which look to be full most of the time.
Nice place. Good bar grub. Outstanding wait staff tonight. Ill be here again in -- 1 year. Its a thing.
The ALL American burger was amazing! Classic cheeseburger with bacon, onions, tomatoes and lettuce) Great costumer service and very entertaining venue.
Really good (small) tacos! The Korean ones are a tiny bit spicy. The Barbacoa (BBQ) ones were delicious.
We were halfway in our meal waiter brings the check telling us hes gone for the night and another waiter will be serving. Like seriously ? You want the damn tip that BAD. Poor poor customer service.
Nice chill spot for a group. The drinks were just okay. The brussel sprouts are 10 stars alone. Omg they were so good.
I went here to watch the Michigan game. Good food, good drink specials, and plenty of TV sets so I could watch the game from pretty much anywhere in the restaurant.
Had the wedge salad first stop we made from coming from Sc to watch the Redskins the food was awesome also had the wing smashed if and the service was also good which is a plus seeing as how we looked unable to check in after driving all night I would diffently recommend this place!@+
Decent burgers if just a little greasy. Good selection of beers for the area. Id suggest going here for appetizers and beer.
The food and drinks are both good, but the service is usually pretty slow. I would not recommend it if you wanting something quick.
Some great food and good conversation with the former Coast Guard soldier who was the bartender. She was funny! But def gonna have to go back soon.
Food was great but service was very slow. May have been short handed but it took way to long. Food came out quickly once ordered
Great neighborhood vibe, staff very friendly and the locals welcomed us warmly. Food was good, the cheese curds were awesome!
Nice little place, but really loud music. Not somewhere you can have a good conversation unless you feel like screaming it. Drinks and service are average.
A little slow on the service even though they were less than half full.... but the food was excellent and very friendly staff.
Hey Everyone just to let you know Brickside decided to close permanently. It’s unfortunate another restaurant has to close. As of today July 5th 2022.
Great bar that makes you feel at home all the time. Definitely try the wings or rocket pop. Whoo! Its good
Great atmosphere, food was fine, they arent big on substitutions to meet dietary restrictions, but fair enough.
Love the wings 🐔 here! My wife doesnt but thats OK they serve beer 🍻 so shes happy 😊.
Drinks are plenty, food not so much if you go after 10pm...we were advised the kitchen was closed... Even for bar food.
Great cocktails and happy hour. Only ever had the bar food which isnt bad
Food was good for watching a game. Only got decent service and a smile when they needed us to pay.
Food and service was great. A little spendy but I knew that going in and I dont blame them charging for a bit of class.
Gross! We got pizza for $16 I’m almost certain it was a frozen pizza. We also got some appetizers nothing was home made everything was from a jar or frozen from Sysco
Great food, awesome place to watch a game, and very solid happy hour menu as well.
Pretty run of the mill place. The theme seemed a bit weird, not really a cohesive idea. Drinks were fine, music was a bit loud.
Pretty good bar food. Saturday night crowd consists of aged out bros in golf polos.
Family friendly atmosphere. Good prices food service wasnt too crowded at this time
Very nice decor and ambiance! Servers are nice and I really like management. Food is nice as well.
Pleasant sports bar with good food and good service. Very loud TVs during games.
Sports bar with a very nice food menu. Tapas style small plates of all day breakfast as well.
Awesome food. Good atmosphere. Nice lay out. Great food.
Food and drinks were good. Had to wait around due to waiter not splitting bill.
The food was good. But, come on, 14 bucks for 3 small tacos with no sides?
Great bar food and amazing burgers small menu but high-quality food
Sweet potato fries were delicious, but service took a long time and was not friendly.
Good food, good service. Its a decent spot to get food and drinks or brunch.
Love the atmosphere, drinks right kind if strong and cayenne honey wings crunch and Tang and kick#life
I go to this place to see big TVs Washington Nationals games and also dealing with situations when I need to get a early or late dinner it is good to go in the weekends also because they have different types of cooking appetizers Dinner.
Super mediocre food that is overpriced. Interior is spacious but come after eating.
Great food and the bottomless mimosas were awesome.
Excellent food and service and their burger of the week was great as always.

Nice atmosphere, good food and lots of beer choices.
The drinks were great. The food not so much
Best brunch spot in the area! Their 2/$12 deal is fantastic!
Excellent service. Great bartender. Only 2 bathrooms though.
Great service. Decent brunch spot - the grits are to die for!
Nice pub atmosphere but I wish they had some healthier options.
Great vibes, good.service. got a bloody mary and some calamari 👍
Great service with higher than average quality bar food.
Great place to get a drink and watch a game. Food is OK.
They have too few waiters. it is hard to catch one, so expect a long wait before you can order.
