Bethesda Salt Cave

We enjoyed our first salt cave experience. Staff was super friendly. With allergies and eczema flaring, gave the salt cave with halo therapy a try. We were fortunate to be the only ones in the room. I brought a few toys for the kids and alternated play, meditation, gratitude and deep breathing with them. May or may not be related but my allergies and sinuses feel better. My 2.5yo who usually has congestion at night is sleeping well without congestion related issues. We’ll be coming back again!FYI on kids prices: Reserved this online not realizing that there are kids prices. If you intend to book a session with kids, call to make your reservation. (Can’t remember but it was priced at something like 1st child 1/2 price and 2nd free).

Ms. Rachel set up our immersive salt session. She was so calming and professional! A hidden gem in a wonderful, calming experience. First time here; definitely plan to come back.

We took our infant son for cranial sacral massage to assist with a tongue tie. The staff were kind and courteous, and the masseuse did a wonderful job and was extremely gentle and knowledgeable. The salt cave is also very relaxing and we plan to return soon.

Absolutely love this place! We’ve done the Salt Cave, detox foot bath and Amethyst BioMat so far and every treatment has been wonderful. Rachel at the front desk is an absolute gem! She even walked halfway down the block to come get my friend and I when we couldnt find the location while walking from the garage. Sarvy is also excellent. Such kind staff with great energy. Will be back :)

This place was recommended to me by a friend. I wasnt sure what expect. It is a nice snd clean place. The staff was very friendly. The massage therapist was amazing. She methodically work through the knots in my back, shoulders and neck. I felt great. Then I went to Halo therapy in the Salt Cave. I took a quick pic before the session. Please note, for my first session I experienced sneezing sensation from breathing in the salt. Its okay. Sessions after, you will start to experience the benefits if the therapy. Im schedule to go back again. Love this place. Definitely recommend.

Zoya was wonderful at explaining the benefits of spending time in the salt cave. She said one session is equivalent to spending 3 days at the beach. The moment I entered the room filled with Himalayan salt on the ground and Himalayan salt rocks and lamps on the wall, I instantly felt relaxed. The 45 minute session was a wonderful experience!

I saw visible results after one full body endosphere treatment (full legs, bum, back, shoulders, arms). This is a phenomenal treatment that everyone must try!Despite being fairly slim with natural curve, my body carries more water weight than I would like. After a consultation, the owner gave an exceptionally relaxing treatment, informing me of how toxins were stored in the body, and how the treatment works. I could tell instantly my body was desperately craving this treatment.Within hours of the treatment I then had increased bowel movements (3-4 times), which was all the toxins and waste leaving my body. It was incredible! I drank a full pint glass of water every 15 minutes or so to aid flushing of the toxins for the rest of the day / evening.As a tip, continue to drink lots and lots of water even days after, especially in this summer heat, to continue to flush out toxins. I also broke out on my face which is entirely normal and part of the detoxification process.After one session, my back fat is nearly gone! And my legs feel tighter. I am going to continue to go back for weekly sessions until we get me fully where I want to be.It’s also worth noting that I’m cutting out “junk food” to not put any more toxins into my body. Protein, fruit, veg and salads, legumes are now my diet of choice and I am steering clear of bad carbs.A phenomenal treatment worth the price! A must try!!!

This place is a SCAM. Went there this past Mother’s Day for the first time ever and I will never go back. I never signed a single waiver about anything, we didn’t get any type of introduction to the place or run down about how they work. Communication was nonexistent starting from the front desk and even with my massage therapist. We went in for a couples massage, which was okay. Right after that, without mentioning the extra price or asking if we were interested, we were taken into the salt cave for 45 mins and charged a “special price” of only $20 extra per person. Again, we were never told about the extra price and were never even asked if we wanted to do the salt cave. The salt cave is a space where they put you in there to lay down for 45 mins with other random groups of people while they lock the door, dim the lights, and play the most basic “meditation” music/sounds. The cave also had cameras so rest assured were all being watched the entire time. Avoid this place unless you enjoy creepy cult-like vibes and being scammed

My recent visit to a salt cave with halo therapy was remarkable. The serene atmosphere and breathing in clean air filled with salt particles were incredibly calming. The session itself was relaxing, and I noticed a significant improvement in my allergies and sinus issues after just one session. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The owner of the salt cave truly stands out. Her attention to detail and commitment to providing an exceptional experience for her customers is evident in every aspect of the salt cave. Ryan Ogles is an incredible massage therapist. Could not more highly recommend. I went in after having been on bed rest post surgery feeling tight and stressed, and left feeling incredible!

I had Ryan for a massage and it was sublime. He was so professional and had a wonderful manner. The massage itself was really great, fantastic pressure and everything down to the way he moved the blanket was polished and part of the experience of relaxation and grounding. Highly recommend.Also sat in the salt cave and it had such great ambiance. The air definitely cleared up my congestion noticeably. Would love to return.

Highly recommend! Starting with the salt cave experience (HaloTherapy) - you really won’t find a therapeutic space just like it within 100 miles. Janine & her warm, welcoming team seem genuinely committed to your health & well-being. I’ve tried a few services in addition to the cave & look forward to trying one of the massage therapists next time I return within a few weeks.

It’s been a few months since I had treatment on my thighs , and I’m writing this review now cuz I really see my results. I had lost some weight and my thighs felt really saggy and I wanted an alternative to surgery. Jeanine and Sarvi made great suggestions to customize my plan. They really care about their clients and do not treat you like a transaction. I would suggest this cute spot to everyone.

First impression: parking was very inconvenient and blocks away; the soggy door mat at the entrance was disgusting; the employees were dead in the face and not welcoming — no one smiled or said hello. The receptionist wanted me to store my bag/wallet in an unsecured cubby in the waiting room that was not in her field of vision. During my salt cave session, two women chatted the entire time and the receptionist did nothing but remind “me” of the etiquette policy - the nerve! What a waist of time and “energy”.

I have been to the salt cave three times in the past two months. Once to sit in the salt cave and quietly meditate with others. The cave is beautiful and peaceful, a perfect place to just be. I have also attended two sessions with Mel who uses her crystal bowls for sound healing (crystal alchemy healing). The bowls make sounds that are beautiful and the vibrations fill the cave and your body with healing energy. I look forward to attending again in the future.

Rose petals as you descend a flight of stairs to a beautiful hidden gem 💎! A small yet powerful place. I would have loved to take pictures of the inside of the salt cave but that’s not allowed. I truly enjoyed my time here. I will definitely return. Body butter and handmade soap and bath bombs are available. I’ll try a spa treatment next. ❤️❤️❤️

I came in on Friday and had an 80 minute Craniosacral appointment with Sarah. She was amazing! Her energy was so beautiful and she took her time working on different areas that needed attention. She listened and was very attentive amd made sure I felt safe and comfortable. I left feeling refreshed and peaceful and grounded. The front desk staff was warm and friendly and Janine, the owner was incredibly kind and thoughtful. I highly recommend this place and cant wait to go back and try the salt cave! Thanks again!

I came to Bethesda Salt Cave for a guided meditation led by Anna. The salt cave room is cozy and serene. Anna’s guided meditation is incredible! She is knowledgable, compassionate, and so gifted at guiding people towards healing and transformation. She knows how to empower people to target and heal what needs attention. I felt energized after her session. My sister and I went to the salt cave Friday and loved the place so much that we came back for facial and massages the next day! Sarvy was amazing for my facial. It was the best one I’ve ever had! Magnificent. Everyone there was so patient and kind. I don’t live too close, but I will be back every chance I get. Highly recommend! 🙌

Had the most beautiful couples massage with such relaxation and then did a 45 minute session in the salt cave breathing in all the good stuff while meditating and cuddling my favorite person in the world. This was such a wonderful experience. Sandra, my massage therapist was so lovely, caring, consensual and gentle with my body. Janene, the owner was so great to meet and she really makes you feel like youve known her for longer than 2 minutes! Thank you for this wonderful place of healing, grounding, and relaxation! I have had several massages and an endosphere treatment at the Bethesda Salt Cave. I have also spent time in the Salt Cave. I have always been delighted with every person who works there and the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The last time I was there, I met Janine, the owner. She remembered I had tennis elbow from when I called to make the appointment. She surprised me by offering to take a look at it after my treatment. She wasn’t even supposed to be working that day but one of her staff (she called them friends) had called in sick. Her lovely calm, golden dog was with her and exhibited the same mellow, serene energy as his owner. Janine examined by elbow, then proceeded to identify the likely source of the chronic issue and provided a massage for a half hour that made it all feel so much better. When I offered to pay her, she refused. She admitted she “hates to see people in pain.” I have to say, I was blown away by this business owner’s authentically caring and generous spirit. She deserves all the success in the world. She has created a beautiful, inclusive place of healing. Thank you, Janine.

I recently had a business trip to our home office in Chevy Chase. I decided to go in a day early and I chose the Bethesda Salt Cave and Spa for some self-care time. The experience was absolutely AMAZING!!! Sarvy was so warm and welcoming from the moment that I walked through the door. I was greeted with delicious aromatics and hot tea as I relaxed in the lounge area. My first service was a relaxing facial and I added on micro-dermabrasion. She took great care to understand my skins condition before engaging in service and she explained each product and the benefits I should expect. My skin was dewy and silky smooth at the end of the service. My next experience was in the salt cave itself. The zero gravity chairs and blankets allow you to slip into the beautiful, calming, and highly therapeutic space. You can taste the salt as it cleanses your sinuses and yes, I could feel my body temperature drop about 15 minutes into the 1 hour session. While the atmosphere was fantastic, what I loved the most about my experience was the fact that they truly care about their clients well-being. During the facial, I complained of pain in my neck due to a pinched nerve. Before leaving the facility, Sarvy ensured that I had a deep tissue massage along with cryo-therapy. The massage got to the root of my stiffness and as my muscles relaxed, the tension melted away. This massage was on 12/4 and Im still feeling the benefits that Ive not been able to achieve through medicine or physical therapy. I cannot say enough good things about the Bethesda Salt Cave & Spa! Ive told all of my colleagues about this place and whenever I am in the area, I will make a point to book their services.

After hiking 27 miles in Yosemite (and turning 74) over the Memorial Day weekend, I was virtually crippled. Sandy gave me a terrific, deep-tissue massage that restored my knees and put me back on the path. I will make her massages a regular part of my week.

After a wonderful massage with Ursula, I spent 45 minutes relaxing in the salt cave. That was my first time in such a place, but it absolutely wont be my last. I have terrible spring allergies, but my breathing has been easier since then. Luckily I have a local salt room here in Ohio so I dont have to wait until I visit Maryland again to get the benefits. Take the time to come here to get some relaxation and rejuvenation. You deserve it!

What an amazing experience ! From the minute that I walked into the door - I felt that I had entered a safe and relaxing space. The receptionist was so attentive and professional and she made me feel like I was the only one in the room. She even remembered my daughters name from our visit in the summertime.I was so surprised and touched. She offered me some relaxing and yummy tea. I felt so grateful to have such an amazing experience. I really needed this, especially this week. Life has been quite hectic lately - and this is exactly what the doctor ordered ! I even bought some wellness gifts to share with my co workers - I cant wait to share these amazing products ! I loved that the attentive staff was able to answer my questions...and I had quite a few. Everyone was so kind and helpful - I cant wait to come back ! Highly recommend !

This review isn’t for Salt Cave as a spa, more so for the masseuse, Ellen. I’ve been to Salt Cave multiple times before and had an amazing experience, but today’s visit was definitely not up to standards compared to the past. From the beginning, there was no thorough consultation. She had told me multiple times how tense I was. On multiple occasions, she had stopped my massage to leave the room, open a can and drink something, and also was breathing very heavily which made it very hard to relax. Not to mention, my neck, head and face was never even touched which has never happened before. And to end it all, when attempting to try and take my jewelry off, could not and when getting up afterwards realized my necklace was broken. Overall, it was a terrible experience especially for the cost. Again, I’ve had amazing massages here from other masseuse’ so I was very dissatisfied and disappointed.

Went over Valentines day weekend and had a great couples massage. 90 min massage and for the first time in years my neck feels normal again. This is not first massage but defiantly the best I have had in my memory. I will be back. The salt cave that I chuckled at was amazing and relaxing. I could not keep my eyes open. Passed out and woke up feeling oddly refreshed. Thinking of stopping back to by one of the salt rock light things that they have. Worth every penny and will be going again soon

First time I think I have wrote a review for a company. Being in customer service I know how important these reviews are but even though I work for a dealership and see how powerful its 5 star ratings are....I never find the time to write any. This staff was so amazing I am taking the time. They made sure I was completely taken care of from star to finish. The massage was professional and communicated the entire time. The thing that stood out the most is when I said that is too much pressure her response was not to go lighter on the pressure but to find out why. She worked her way around the area and sometimes to an entirely different area then went back to the area that was too much pressure before and it was fine. I could tell she was putting the same amount of pressure but this time it did not hurt. She truly was focused on fixing my problems. I will be back and next time I want to book some time in the salt cave itself.

If youre looking for good relaxing treatments this is the best place . This spa is tucked right in Bethesda and the entrance itself has a relaxing feel to it as you enter the space. They have a variety of products they sell good soap and scrubs too. The salt cave session before we received our couples massage was the best. As this helped us relax and really enjoy the entire Spa experience. I look forward to more visits at this Spa.

Bethesda Salt Cave is my go to for all things relaxation! 90 minute deep tissue massage is my favorite and has been since they opened. Energy Healing work is on point and their cave is clean and soothing. I especially love their wide range of products and customer service.

The massage therapists at Salt Cave are some of the best I’ve experienced around North America. I’m over-active and subject to wear and tear and their knowledge and experience keeps me functioning. My first call for sure. Always punctual and professional.

I had a prenatal massage scheduled with Ellen Spadaro and she is terrible and a scam. She made it awkward the entire time just saying how she didn’t want to touch me like other massage professionals would. She repeatedly would say this throughout my session and I felt so awkward and began to regret scheduling my appointment with this place.After my massage she said as a treat, she would get me into the salt cave for free. She asked if I would be Interested and I was a little hesitant at first because she gave me bad vibes but I figured if it were free I would try it out. WELL at the end when I go to pay I noticed my balance was high but I didn’t think anything of it until I’m driving home and when I park I look at my receipt and she changed me $20 for the salt cave. I called them up and explained what Ellen told me and they said they never give away the salt cave for free and the lady gave me attitude.Literally blown away by their terrible spa and awful customer service.

The perfect place to unplug and unwind. A cleansing and detoxifying experience that lasted days for me. My check in person (Mimi) was courteous and very intuitive. She knew exactly the level of engagement I was looking for and respected my need to have quiet person space to meditate with minimal interaction. This place has my repeat business and continued ”word of mouth” referral as a result, along with the stellar communications / follow up from Janine (owner). This is by far one of the best gems in the Washington Metropolitan area. The attention to detail and service is beyond 5 stars. Meeting all the expectations of a high-end spa, while still being a place that is very grounded and balanced. I saw people from all walks of life go in and out of the salt cave and it is just lovely to know that there is a place that can create unity, simply by being a place of healing. The Salt Cave truly is a place to balance and recharge yourself. After each session I was left feeling wholesome and content. Cheers BSC and anyone who is lucky enough to encounter it.

Will never go here again due to their extremely strict cancellation policy that gives incentives for people to show up sick! My sister-in-law awoke with a fever and sore throat this morning. My daughter has similar symptoms starting. We are being charged $50 per massage as a cancellation fee. Beware and be prepared to go if you are sick or pay a $50 fee.

Great place! The salt cave really calms my sinuses down when pollen count is high. The therapists really help control shoulder, back, and neck pain from spending my work day in front of a computer. Highly recommend!

My best friend and I visited the Bethesda Salt Cave for a relaxing space to bring in the new year. Janine and staff were an absolute delight. The facilities felt very safe in light of the pandemic. The cave itself was an oasis. This is a stop that I will make every single time I visit Maryland. Thank you for an incredible experience!

Everything was amazing from check-in until we left. The tea was good. My friends said the massages was to die for. The foot detox, I definitely would recommend. It was crazy o wish I took before and after pictures. The salt cave was so relaxing and rejuvenating. I love the ginger scrub. I will definitely go back

Ive been going to Bethesda Salt Cave since they opened. I followed my masseuse there. She is fabulous. I have had treatments from other staff as well. all have been great. each one has their own style which I appreciate. I also appreciate the covid protocols.

I absolutely love this place! It’s so comforting especially after a hard day of work. Everyone is so nice and friendly and I totally relax the minute I walk in the door. Generally, I have a massage with Ellen and she does a wonderful job and always pinpoints the areas that are giving me problems. Again, just a wonderful experience every time I visit!

This is one of the few spas that has same day online booking available for massage. I was so lucky to have Mimi as my therapist today. The atmosphere was perfect and her techniques were varied, relaxing and got to the heart of my issues. I walked out feeling so much better!

I did a facial and it was amazing. She gave me personalized information that helped my husbands skin and gave us samples in case we didnt want to pay a hefty fee. They were kind and knowledgeable and I think I will be there once a month!

Called to make a reservation, as the website was a bit confusing with respect to wanting to book more than one person for a salt cave session. I was told by the receptionist that she would call me back, as she was checking out another customer at the moment. I told her that was fine, and she literally said she would not forget. Its been over 24 hours and no call back. I guess she forgot.

Bethesda salt cave is the best therapeutic spa in Bethesda. It has a one-of-a-kind natural salt cave and the massage therapists are very excellent too, like Mimi and Heather. The owner and her staff make you feel like you are VIPs, they are so caring and supportive. If you need more self care in your life come here. It is a spectacular business and rare to find a space with such a variety of therapies. Also, Groupons make it more affordable.

This place is absolutely, Amazing! I booked an appointment for salt cave therapy. The experience was beyond what I had imagined. The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. I have recommended this little “heaven-on-earth” to my close friends and family. I can’t wait for my next appointment.

New experience! I went for the first time this weekend with a friend and I absolutely enjoyed it!! It was a good and relaxing 45 mins away from the outside world. Its great for personal meditation if you are into that (thats what I did) or just simply take a nap and breathe in the salt air! Leaves you feeling cleansed 🙌🏼 I would recommend for everyone to try it!

I had a very disappointing experience. The environment and the actual salt cave were absolutely lovely. Sadly, the customer service was the worst Ive ever had.It took two weeks to get a call back to reserve an appointment. I called about ten times during their working hours and was put straight to voicemail each time; I left multiple messages with call back information as well. The person I finally spoke with over the phone was not patient, kind, or helpful. There were miscommunications happening and she did not work to understand what I was asking for. I ended up being charged full-price for an additional package on top of the one I was attempting to schedule. Once I realized what was actually happening she had already taken my credit card information and stated that she could not give me a refund for that second charge.I wasnt able to get anywhere while on the phone and planned to find a resolution once I visited the cave in-person. The same person was working and I had even worse interactions. I received an unbelievable amount of unapologetic condensation, attitude, and sarcasm. This same person barked instructions once entering the cave, which set the tone for my time in this peaceful space. The purpose of spending intentional time with Himalayan sea salt is to relax, heal, and rejuvenate. No matter how hard I tried to meditate/clear my mind/brush off the negative I was unable to have that experience due to the poor customer service.I was never refunded and ended up giving up because I didnt want to have any more confrontational interactions with this person. I would not recommend the salt cave to friend or foe.

Visited with a friend of mine after a very stressful week. I didnt know what to expect but was optimistic about the benefits of the salt cave. While I cannot speak to the long-term effects yet, the experience was overall very relaxing. We had a minor issue while visiting and management addressed it immediately and fully. Will certainly be returning.

This is one of the worst customer experiences we have had in a while. On Sunday 11/17 We drove from Arlington all the way to Bethesda for our 4pm class to be told the class that we booked is not available for us because it is a private event. The lady behind the counter was kind of dismissive even when she realized that we never received any cancellation or phone call to let us know that they have decided on their own to cancel a session that we have booked and paid for. They call themselves a healing place for relaxation and good vibe. I don’t think so...It starts with how you treat your customers and how you make wrong thing right.

I didn’t know what a true massage was till I walked into Bethesda Salt cave. The manager was super kind and the massage therapist Mimi gave me the best massage, I think I have ever had. Definitely going again with no hesitations.

This place is an absolute gem! A wonderful place to rest, relax, get a service (or 2!) the massage rooms are gorgeous, the salt cave is so special! It’s a fabulous place to give yourself some self care.

Here again for more deep release and healing. Georgiana was heaven and helped with tips and pointers with my shoulder. Picking up soap and good vibes are just perks. I absolutely needed this and love love love my partner for his thoughtful gift card.

To whom it may concern, I wanted to bring to the attention of a manager that I am not happy with the customer service that I received regarding an appointment I had initially scheduled for Thursday, December 27. I was informed the day of my appointment that I had to reschedule because the masseuse had an emergency and was not able to provide a massage during my scheduled time, I later discovered there was an issue with the appointment as it was double booked on the system.I was already disappointed having to reschedule that I just went ahead and scheduled it for Sunday thinking the time was for 2:00pm. Mainly because I only received the salt cave session reminder email during that time. I never received a phone call reminding me of my appointment for a massage for today nor did I receive an email. Only did I receive a phone call from the front desk receptionist asking if I was going to come in today. What I don’t understand is why I have to be at fault for the issues that were caused because of a system error or the lack of customer service I received.

What a wonderful experience. I had been fighting an upper respiratory infection and one session gave me so much relief! I was so energized and grounded- it was like the best nap/meditation of my life!!! Its a beautiful salt cave and the staff is so sweet and helpful!

UPDATE TO REVIEW: The business contacted me promptly and explained to me there was a phone connection issue by the provider that was out of their control. I totally understand that things like this happen. The co-owner and owner were so kind and I can feel how much they value their business and customer service! Will be in soon to really try the salt cave out.-------------------------------I purchased a Groupon but when I called the number listed on both the Groupon and their website, someone picked up and kept saying its the wrong number. It seems like they are closed and have been for months but nothing has been updated on their ends. Seems a little deceiving to keep selling on Groupon if their business isnt operating.

Such a cool and unusual activity. Price is very reasonable, parking can be tough so try to give yourself enough time to find a space. Wear comfy lounge clothes! Very calming experience, cant wait to bring more friends to visit!

Try changing your blankets between customers. I should call the health department on this place. These people run multiple side businesses and cater to wealthy stupid people. Try healing people that need it, start with your employees who take multiple forms of transportation to show up to work everyday and do the best they can to keep a decent job. Shame on you.

*****AVOID BETHESDA SALT CAVE******My friends and I came to this so called spa and were floored by how unprofessional and cumbersome the reception area and staff were. We noticed two dogs in the mix of things as well and questioned why they were there....one of my friends is highly allergic to animal dander and it did not help with her allergies! The services we received were subpar and sloppy. The overall vibe is a dilapidated cellar with cheap Ikea furniture.*****WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, AVOID*******

Staff is always friendly, super clean and every massage I had is like a mini vacation. Highly recommend the Salt Cave!

Sooo relaxing. Came here on a weekday and was able to relaxing to ourselves and fall asleep. Not sure if it did any cleansing but wed happily pay for another nap in there, lol

We find the Bethesda Salt Cave to be relaxing and rejuvenating. It is an aromatic detox for your body. A great place to ground and re-focus.

Had a great facial and the spa owner makes you feel so welcomed, appreciated, and relaxed.

I tried emailing for information on their services since the website is not working properly. I was told to call in, but when i called in i was told to just use google for more information. I was trying to find out exactly what is done for these services at this spa to make sure it was the right thing for me. The person handling appointments and communications was not able to provide any specific information and was not helpful. Unfortunately, they lost a potential customer.

Eventho I visited BSC a few years ago & during the pandemic, and the staff was scaled down but the personal touch from the limited staff accomodated me & guest very nicely, professionally to the point I made a 2nd appointment to allow a close family member to receive that same experience!!

The person handling appointments and answering calls is very rude and impatient. The place was dirty when we visited it. We gave this place a second chance but never again. Precovid they were friendly and more accommodating. Their staff turnover is costing this place a lot .

Nothing about this spa was relaxing, the staff need to work on their hospitality to certain customers. My friend and I went there today and it wasn’t as pleasing as the salt cave I went to in Philadelphia. Do better.
