We were in town for my nieces bachelorette party. We stopped here on a beer bike and for a night out. We loved it. Espresso martinis are so good here! We also had the champagne sparkler. The place was packed and we were able to find a nice spot for our large group. The servers were really nice and took good care of us.

We love the dj who was playing on Wednesday night ! Requested Jon summit and he showed up ! Dj had such a great personality. Also shout out to the bartender who was super nice and sweet too ! Went out for my girlies bday and they both showed up ! Great service 10/10 !!

If you come here on any other night than the weekend, it is such a chill, relaxing, and intimate atmosphere. However, weekends are always a party ;) I agree that the espresso martinis are a staple, but I could not recommend more than trying their key lime martinis! The key-lime martini is my favorite cocktail to order because of how refreshing and light it is... but they will sneak up on you haha. And, of course, I have to give credits to the great drinks and welcoming atmosphere from my favorite bartenders -- Jim, Julio, and Trinity :)

Great music, awful service. I was wasted ordered three shots for me and my friends, She told me the total was $36. Then I check my account and it was charged $45. Not only are they not worth the prices they charge. The girls there are really sleezy and will take advantage of you. I gave a cash tip and she must’ve added the max tip amount on the machine. Don’t know what I did to deserve that. DONT LET THEM RING YOU UP WITHOUT CHECKING.

Overall this place has a very chill vibe that i love, while still possessing sophistication and elegance. the dimmed lighting and background music make this an ideal place for relaxing conversation.

Came in for an afternoon drink on a Sunday afternoon. We had Kat as our waitress and she was on point—great service. Drinks were tasty and atmosphere was great. Could only imagine what it’s like on a livelier night.

This is not a bad place to stop by and have a few drinks, socialize or even dance when they have a DJ. Most of the staff members here are quite chill and usually will take care of you. The dude that bartends at the bar closest to the patio once in awhile on a weekend night is a super cool dude and will take good care of you! Much of the crowd every time I drop by here which I usually do whenever im in town are quality people that are usually chill and friendly which is normal for Boise standards. The only drawback is the drink prices like some of the other sister bars or nightclubs are a little pricey and they dont do drink specials later at night on a weekend like Strangelove and Roddys does

My favorite Lounge Bar in Boise.. Usually I come here on Saturday night to enjoy music, dance and delicious cocktails.I love the patio sitting area especially Sunday Happy Hour time..Not so crowded ,very relaxing.

Watered down libations. Cool lighting - retro seating. Manager Sandy is professional - I had a billing issue and she took care of it.

The atmosphere and overall environment in Amsterdam lounge is nothing short of incredible. The thing is that the cost of a single drink or appetizer easily prices out many possible customers and scares off future customers. Amsterdam Bar is a great place to go if your looking to spend an evening with close friends and price isnt a concern.

Place is spacious. Cocktail waitress are pretty nice. The security here is ehhh....there are plenty of times that Ive been to the womens bathroom and men are just lurking right by the entrance. Everytime. The bathroom entry is pretty open and a looootttt of men stand in the entry way and watch the women using the bathroom. Ive had to shoo them away eeevveeryyy time Im there and speak to someone about it. Women should feel safe takin a piss. Sheesh.I wish theyd have a bouncer by the bathrooms.Drinks are pricey, dance floor is created by groups. No real dance floor.Scenery is beautiful. Bars everywhere so your wait time is slim to none.

Nice somewhat upscale lounge to chill while having a few drinks however many of the drink prices are a little pricey. The outside patio is also a nice places to sit down and relax with friends & even has a bar outside thats open on nice weather weekends. Place gets packed on weekends and even has a DJ. Crowd and staff are generally friendly here & even attracts high quality women!

Saturday night a lot of the bars were full. Decided to stop here looked classy from the outside. It was nice in side, service was ok. I ordered one of their signature drinks and they came back and said they were out of an ingredient so they couldnt make it. I ordered another drink and they said theyre out of cherries and lastly overcharged on our drinks. Will not go here again.

Really great, trendy atmosphere with a lot of seating. Went most recently for a bachelorette party. We were offered free champagne as long as we tip. Marketing ploy or not, the service was excellent. The mixed drinks we ordered were also poured with quite a heavy hand. Would recommend.

My husband and I were out to celebrate an evening together before he left the country for work, and decided to try out the Amsterdam Lounge. From the outside it looked nice and the layout inside was great. There was a paint and sip class going on in the backroom, and there were only two or three other patrons there. It was a very quiet Thursday evening, around 7 PM.The food menu was small, but looked appetizing so we ordered our drinks and some food to share. I ordered a sampler, and my husband ordered the Asian platter. The service was a bit slow for the amount of people, but since we werent in a hurry we didnt mind waiting.The food presentation was nice and simple, but the satay chicken was not cooked through. Unfortunately both my husband and I took a bite before realizing it. The meat was still cool and pink. When we showed the raw chicken to our server he took them back to be cooked more, but ended up bringing out new ones. (Id pretty much lost my appetite at that point.)I dont know if it was from eating raw chicken or something else we were served, but both of us ended up with stomach problems that I wont go into detail about. We didnt ask to be comped anything on the bill, nor was it offered, but I am very leery about coming back to the Amsterdam Lounge. Maybe try it, if youre only going for drinks, but I wouldnt risk the food.

We came to visit Boise Downtown for the first time because someone recommended this bar. A pretty girl at this bar took our seat. I politely asked her to let me sit there again since my phone and drink were right in front of her and I was sitting there. She was rude and didn’t not moved. She then later pushed my friend and I spilled my drink over her. She then sent all her three girlfriends to insult us. We moved to dance away from them. She said I know every manager here, later she came back with security and got us kicked out of the bar. I am 40 years old and I have never in my life had an experience like this one. I would say this club is full of snubbed people who are very much into themselves 👎 I talked to the manager and he did not listen to us. This is the most horrible place I been in my life. I was threatened to never comeback to the bar or I would be kicked out 😮

Love it here! David is awesome! The magic trick card guy looks weird initially but very cool and actually knows magic. All of the upper class gorgeous women party here! Professional dress vibes! Please don’t show up in jeans with holes and tennis shoes! Too fancy for that, save yourself some time because you won’t get in!

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. This is a very nice place with a wonderful atmosphere. I ordered a Dirty Martini to discover that they did not have any olives. We also ordered a drink from their menu, the Amsterdam G&T only to find out that they were also missing ingredients for that. When we asked for a food menu we were informed that they do not have food on the weekends. Amsterdam is a wonderful place and far too good to be out of basic ingredients for standard drinks and drinks on their menu. Please step it up.

Super cool lounge, friendly sexy bartenders! Comfortable seating, great sound system and the DJ was great reading the crowd! Nice outdoor patio area when the weather is good! A pool table and shuffleboard in the back. Say HI to bartender Cooper for me! 😎☮️🍻

My daughter was in town before starting fire fighting season and we went here. It was a fun atmosphere and the staff were excellent. Really appreciated luka who made our night out so much fun! Great staff!!

The best espresso martinis in town, or anywhere really!

Well I bought tickets for the creepy crawl event in Boise. So I purchased bracelets for me and my husband, I lost my bracelet in club Karma. It came off with my glove and I realized it when we got to club Amsterdam. The bouncers outside said I could get another ticket with proof of purchase. So I showed proof of purchase to a lady who lost her temper cause of how loud it was in the club. basically, regardless if I purchased my ticket, the story changed and I had to purchase another bracelet to get inside. So total scam. Planned two months ahead of time, invested $200 dollars, and there was absolutely nothing in the description that said anything about the bracelets not being replaceable. Some audacity these companies have with false advertising.

New Amsterdam is modern and unique in the club scene of Boise with beautiful upholstery and furniture and Live DJ performances. It has a lovely vibe that is uncharacteristic of most of Idaho. When I went inside I honestly felt like I was stepping into a bar in Europe. Good lighting, the music was good, and there was a lot cultural diversity inside! Well kept bathrooms and good service at the bar. Beautiful people, good atmosphere with an outside bar area and a dance floor that people could be found dancing on all night. Floor was somewhat sticky on the dance floor (as to expected with the bar). It didnt detract from the overall atmosphere. There was a wide range of ages at the bar from mid 20s to over 50. Most people at the bar dressed in Semi-formal attire.

Boise bourbon bash was an amazing event! Snake River Farms meats are incredible and the whiskey they had for tasting was great as well. The pappy and higher end stuff went fast but we managed to get a few tastings of them, plus the lower end whiskeys were tasty as well. Keep on doing this, Ill make sure I come back every year! Kudos!

As I walked into the bar I heard a bouncer behind me swear at someone. This instantly turned me off of the bar and I saw people walk out of line as it happened. Poor bar service. Long wait time with unfriendly bar tender who wouldn’t help us with drink orders. Only redeeming quality was the owner who seemed to genuinely care about the patrons of his bar. Would not recommend this bar to anyone who wants a classy experience.

The staff here was absolutely terrible. They were very rude for no reason. We were spending money and tipping VERY well. We were not drunk, loud, or causing a ruckus in any fashion. We were friendly with all the other patrons and the staff as well. I ended up leaving even though I had a brand new full drink and I will never return to this place due solely to the people working there when I visited. It seemed to me they only want specific people in their bar. Fancy suits, expensive dresses with high heels, black amex types only maybe.

Always a good time, but bathrooms were littered with toilet paper and the play loud dance music with no dance floor. . . .makes you feel like your in the way no matter where your trying to dance and have a good time. Also, need more air conditioning, or airflow in general. It was super humid and hot with no air current to help relieve it. Staff were great and bar service was quick.

This bar used to be one of my favorite bars to visit when I came to town. However, on my latest trip to Boise I was very disappointed to find out that there was a significant increase in prices since the last time I had been here. I find it completely absurd to pay $7 for Coors light in a bottle, not on draft, but in a bottle. Why would I ever come here to drink beer or liquor again if I can drink the same thing elsewhere for half the price? And it was a slow Wednesday night, yet service was painfully slow.

This place is so unprofessional and the worst place to go, myself and a small group of friends were out with hired security last night, and we got to the bar everything was fine at first then on of the wait staff come up to my security guard that was doing nothing wrong just standing there and tells him so loudly that he needs to either but a drink or leave. He obviously cant drink as hes security for my party. He didnt say anything just stood there then she proceeded to return and tell him that he needed to leave their customers alone. Although he wasnt doing anything but standing by us. And tells him that he need to leave and is using such foul language that the whole bar can hear her yelling. Then a guy from their staff comes over and kicks us all out of the bar. We did absolutely nothing wrong but buy a drink and sit down. This bar and their staff is so unprofessional and I will never return.

Such a great atmosphere to hang out! Unique spot in Boise, there arent other places like Amsterdam to go. High class and excellent service. Jared specifically is super helpful and always goes out of his way to make sure everyone is having a good time. This is a must go to spot for me on the weekends!

Decided to pop in and relax until my reserved time at The Brick Yard, next door (which also provides starters for Amsterdam on some days). I ordered a Jack Daniels and Ginger Beer. The bartender (Liz or Liv?) was friendly and a good conversationalist. The drink was strong and delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing, lights were low. The place wasnt particularly busy at that time due to rain and wind but I enjoyed the drink, the company and the ambience. Would definitely recommend. This isnt the type of lounge you wear blue Jeans to, however, so dress up.

Great hangout spot and late night drinks

Luka was very rude to my group of friends a few weekends ago, I won’t be bringing new people here again! even if she wasn’t trying to be rude to us, her tone towards us was awful! From what I’ve heard from some other friends that have been here, this is a pretty common thing, very unfortunate :/

The owners running this establishment do not care about anyone. All they care about is the capital it brings in. I grew up with one of the co-owners, and he unfriended and blocked me because I brought up the serious risk of being security personelle in downtown to light. Stay away from these establishments. They do not care about YOU. They just want your money. Their other establishments are Dirty lil Rotties, and Strange Love.

Very nice place, not very crowded. Friendly staff who were into the birthday sparklers they did for my friend with our champagne order! Chill atmosphere which really jives with my groove. Thanks Amsterdam!

The place looks really nice. Stopped in for a drink last night. Ordered 2 Long Islands. They tasted like rum and coke. Was dark brown like rum and coke. Told the bartender that. He dumped them out and turned his back to me he didnt make a new drink. They were both full drinks. Ignored me so I went to the other waitress. Then the guy that dumped out the drinks said something to her and she turned her back too so we left. When I paid before tasting I left a $2 tip so the total was $15. I didnt even tell the bartender to dump the drinks. All I said was that it tasted like rum and coke.

I went early in the evening to prep for the night. Laid back and elegant atmosphere. Dimitri makes a great Old Fashion. Be sure to take time to watch him craft your drink. Im not sure but I bet this place really picks up later in the night.

This is a really nice club. Lots of group seating spread around and friendly, attentive, wait staff. Their drink prices are really high, but overall it was a nice place to hang out for a few hours.

My first time here. The service seems to be hit and miss. The beer selection could be better. They do have 208 though and alot of places in town dont carry it. Kinda seems like a glamorized version of what the bistro was but well see how it goes.

Showed up by midnight and the bartender was pretty drunk by then (or at least appeared to be). The server also did appear to rush me to drink my drink so that she could take the mug.However, I did like the vibe of the bar and its more relaxed nature.

Looking for a great Martini downtown? This is your spot. It is modern and fun. The atmosphere is nice and the staff is nicer. There is a great fire pit out front if you visit in the winter.

Stopped in for a drink and calimari sticks. Bar is a little upscale but friendly and we got happy hour so not too pricey. I dont think the prices were out of line anyway, especially downtown.

The place is ok. The Alaskan bartender she is in wrong potato field.She sing better then she serving drinks.And the manager with Justin Biber first hair style pull my beer after I get one sip.I never ever left any beer unfinished before I go to sleep .By the way the close at 2 AM and usually everybody just start party at this time.And i highly recommend that place for everybody who dont have place to go this is the last chance to get drunk before 2 oclock. I have rarely seen a place go so far downhill in the span of one year. When they first opened the service, and food was pretty good. During my last visit we walked into an almost empty bad but still had over 30 minutes before one of the waitresses came over to take our order (we had the same experience the time before as well), food took another 30 minutes to arrive and was so salty it physically hurt to eat it (we ordered the cheese and berry plate... The bread was burned black, cheese was salty to the point of being inedible, and berries = 3 blackberries and 2 raspberries). After that the next time we saw the waitress was for the check (another 20 minutes). Despite all of this the largest issue I had was the next day I received a call from my bank about a suspicious tip amount of 50% on my bill. The waitress (Audrey) illegally put the tip on after we left. Overall this was a horrid experience.

Location, drinks and service are great, but the DJ was disappointing to say the least......she was definitely a press play DJ because not only was she not into any of the music that she was playing, but she wasnt even at her station half of the night and keep in mind it was a Saturday night. Even though I was not into most of her song choices, I think that if they had a talented DJ who knew how to actually work a turntable and was into the music they played, the place would have better business. Its quite embarrassing as an avid music enthusiast and a person who has been to countless clubs/bars across the world to see a place with such great potential but with such a terrible and lazy DJ.

Ordered 2 drinks and the bartender handed me the hand held card reader, he had already added a $9 dollar tip for himself on top of my drinks which brought my total to $47 for two drinks. I guess he figured i was too drunk and wouldnt notice?

Classy upscale club. This is our new hangout for sure.The DJ is the best in Boise. Just wish there was a bit more of a dance floor. Hate to leave to go dancing somewhere else.

To be honest I dont quite remember the service I had gotten, but thats not the point of this review! I lost my wallet back in January, a very nice wallet which I thought no one would have the heart to return. I gave up all hope, being as disappointed in myself as i was, I didnt even want to think about it! I never got the courage to call any of the bars to see if they had it. A month goes by and I receive a friend request from one of the bar tenders/managers David Munson. They had my wallet in the lost n found!! I am just appalled. I had no recollection of even going to Amsterdam the night my wallet was lost. So to me I am just very thankful there are genuine people out there like David Munson and his crew!!

Decent happy hour, depending on the time of day/night the vibe will vary. 2/3 times Ive been here the service isnt fast but is friendly, alcohol selection is good, prices reasonable. Great place to swing past on a night out downtown.

Extremely rude security. Wouldnt let us in without US passports, despite the fact that were from the UK. Recommend avoid, especially if youre not American.

Amsterdam has truly done a great job transforming from the Bistro. I think their specialty adult coffee drinks taste really good and they have a lot of options to choose from.I would definitely recommend this place for your next meeting over coffee.

Nice lounge, decent drinks but a little confused on their identity. When I was there they had a DJ but no dance floor, and some arcade games in the back? Other then the arcade the place looked classy, maybe leave the arcade games to Spacebar.

Fun atmosphere and bartenders! I wish their was a dance floor for when the have a DJ, or at least turn down the music so you can hear the people youre with. Overall I love it!

Tried to go with my wife tonight and your bouncer let her in with a metal genre jacket it because she was a woman but he looked me up and down and said I was the type to start a fight due to my fashion. You guys should really take into consideration that I would have definitely been a paying customer and not the type to cause a scene by any means. The disrespect I received was pretty blunt and quite frankly I have no respect for an establishment who is going to tell me that because I wear a vest and shoes that the bouncer deems unfit, that I am unwelcome. You could have had a potential high paying customer and because your bouncers think they can pick and choose who is ok to enter based upon who they find fashionably attractive, you have lost the potential to have this customer. Not only will I not come back, but I’ve taken the liberty to report you to the city for discrimination and sexism. Best of luck. You won’t last much longer running a business this way.

This place has atmosphere. And doesnt feel close in since they keep the patio open. I only wish they would stop smokers in their patio and bartenders reccomend a drink or have a special from their bar because most of them dont know what to recommend or most of them are inexperienced so they dont know how to make it

2 weeks ago I went in wearing a denver Broncos Jersey and ordered 3 highly over priced drinks. We left shortly after.Last night, a night when many of the bars down town were closing early due to lack of customers, we decided to give them another shot. Once again I was wearing a Broncos Jersey and we were promptly stopped at the door because of dress code.My wife and I will never set foot in this place or any of the others owned by this person (Amsterdam, China blue, dirty little roddies). If youre a regular blue collar worker I recommend you do the same.

They seem to make it by being a place to go. Cocktail waitress was pretty, but had no idea what was at the bar. Drinks were exactly as expected. Nothing special.

Good happy hour prices but service was terrible. Not impressed at all. Ordered charcuterie plate and it never showed up. When we asked the server he said our order was lost in the computer. Had to leave and eat somewhere else because we were on a schedule. Very disappointed!

Formerly Main Street Bistro.They have a throw back Thursday night, which features old pop/dance tunes.Laid back atmosphere on Thursdays but as the current lingo goes ...it gets lit! , on the weekends!

I have a service animal and the bouncer named Sam would not let him in. That is a federal offense.

I was let in because I’m a “Woman” but not dressed the part. My husband was to join me and because he was wearing a BAND vest and Jean he was not let in. Discrimination against the sex. Best believe. My husbands family works for the city. His dad right under the mayor. We are PAYING customers. I’m in disbelief of a downtown night scene discriminating. We’re putting in a formal complaint. As a business owner I amm in shock of how he was tested because he is a man not dressed in slacks. My husband even offered to take his vest off. The man still refused he watched my husband bend over the barrier outside and kiss me. Yet because he was wearin a band vest “he is going to start a fight”. His words not ours. I will never recommend this place to anyone I know. Ever.

I reserved a table for 8 people 2 days in advance. We show up and they didnt even have the courtesy to set enough chairs for us. Teribble service!

It wasnt busy but the bar service was s9 slow that I had to complain to the manager.The bar person was so busy serving and chatting to her friends she had no idea about thise waiting.Otherwise a nice bar.

Thursday nights is 80s music. Great for a time out with friends, or if you just want to relive the oldies.

The drinks were good but the music is just too loud to really enjoy another persons company.
