I work as head of security in the main building where massage envy is located I decided to finally go in and it was worth the wait I got a 60 min massage with hot stones with tacora she was amazing, this was my 1st real massage was worth the wait. Made me wanna go try other therapists I just start going back to the gym and been sore Fuad guy in the pictures is the best deep tissue therapist around if your an athlete or power lifting you need to come see Fuad he will get in there. I already got 3 massage can’t wait to try everyone I heard some great things about Wanderson and Cesarina they will be my next 2 therapist I wanna try. Place was really clean workers in the front was helpful when I told them what I was looking for diane was the front desk work who really help me figure out who i would really fit with special thanks to her

The facility is spotless and the entire experience from the minute I walked in and met with the welcoming front desk personnel was relaxing and enjoyable . Made a last minute appointment for 2pm. I got there about 10 minutes early and checked in. At 2:10, I asked why I hadnt gone back yet (I shouldve went up earlier, I know). The man at the desk went back to find my therapist. A couple minutes later, he came back and said theyd be out in a minute. At 2:15, he went back again. At 2:20, I gave up and left.As I said, it was a last minute appointment, but if their technology cant keep the therapist up to date on appointments, thats a big problem. And, after being informed youre already 10 minutes late, you get out front asap. You dont take another 10+ minutes. Just ridiculous.Update: 72 hours later and I have received no phone calls or other communication from anyone explaining or apologizing for my poor experience. I can only conclude Massage Envy doesnt care about their customers or customer service.
First visit to Massage envy Boston Back Bay location. Tacora was wonderful. Her massage was medium firm and she adjusted the pressure as needed for different areas of my body. She also provided me with helpful self care tips to try at home.

I haven’t had a chance to get a Massage since I moved so I was in quite a bit of pain. Cesarina was amazing. That was the most relaxing and invigorating 90 minutes. She was very thorough and didn’t miss a single muscle. I was relaxed and had the best sleep that day. She also was friendly and made sure I was comfortable.
I came in for a massage after doing a running race series of 6 runs, in 6 states, in 6 days. The courses were hilly and my body was in need of some attention. Cesarina was EXACTLY what I needed. First time booking an appt at Massage Envy. I saw that they had stretch therapy so I decided to try it. I got there about 15 min early for my 2:00 pm appt. The masseuse came and got me a few minutes late and brought me to the room. She left so I could get undressed down to my shorts. She didnt come back in until 15 minutes into my appointed time. The stretch therapy/massage itself was pretty good and was thinking to myself that I need to come here more often, but when she was finished, I saw that I had received only 37 minutes of a 60 min massage. When I went to front desk person and informed him, he apologized but didnt offer an adjusted fare. He asked if I wanted to leave a tip and I said no. I figured I received only 2/3 of what I paid for. They can give the masseuse the remaining 1/3 as tip if they are so inclined. I wont be coming back.
This location was the deciding factor in me canceling my membership. I’ve been a member of massage envy for many years, was going to their Medford location the last two. Since it recently closed, I thought to give this location a chance, even though it was out of the way. I won’t provide names out of consideration but both of my sessions were some of the worst I’ve ever had. The massage therapist talked (loudly) almost the entire time, making it impossible to relax, even though I mentioned this was my primary purpose for the visit. The esthetician did the absolute bare minimum, put the product on my face then had me lay there for about twenty minutes. Did not provide one single extraction, did not provide a short shoulder/neck massage; which is always provided to continue your relaxation throughout the service. They could have been on their phone the entire time, for all I knew? If this review saves at least one person their time and money by avoiding it, then it was worth writing.
Eric is an amazing Masseuse! He pays attention to your body, checks in on pressure, and even shares recommendations on how to remedy tense areas.

FOUHAD is an excellent masseuse. He specializes in deep tissue work. Hes for folks that can tolerate and want strong pressure -and results. He can remove knots, loosen tight muscles and alleviate and often eliminate neck and head aches. Hes better than medicine (in most cases)! I highly recommend Fouhad!

I wasnt impressed with this location in Back Bay. The therapist had head phones on during my massage which I thought was unprofessional and I could hear their music playing. The therapist also lacked skills in the art of massaging and was unable to relieve certain areas. The oil from my back and neck wasnt removed afterwards. Overall, I wouldnt recommend.

Fouad is the best deep tissue therapist in the USA. I Always make it my business to book with him whenever I’m in the Boston area. Just amazing hands down!!!! I do heavy lifting and I drive an 18 wheeler for a living so I’m always sore and my muscles are always tight since I spend so much time at the gym. He really knows how to loosen the muscles and get rid of the tension and stress in the muscles!!!! Also the front staff were friendly and the facility was very clean.

I will start by saying my massages were always great here. BUT billing has been a nightmare. I was grandfathered in at a discounted price but was billed the wrong amount EVERY SINGLE MONTH. I finally decided to cancel my membership because I was sick of having to deal with this and they simply “didn’t bother” checking the cancellation paperwork I emailed to them. So I was charged AGAIN two weeks after cancelling. I’ve been promised a refund but I can’t wait to see what happens next month.

The front office staffs unprofessionalism and lack of assistance were truly disheartening. Instead of the expected peaceful ambiance, the waiting area echoed with loud laughter and profanity. To add to my dismay, I paid for a 60-minute service but received only 45 minutes.Moreover, the massage rooms were in a sorry state; they appeared as if they hadnt been vacuumed in ages. This entire experience left me deeply unsatisfied, and I will not be returning to this location.

I saw Fouad and it was hands down one of the best massages Ive ever had. I like a LOT of pressure and sometimes its hard to really convey that my muscles dont relax unless you essentially force them to. (e.g. dry needling for me took multiple sessions). But Fouad did not hold back. He checked on me to make sure I was good but was relentless in giving me an intense massage. Im sure hes capable of scaling back if you arent ready for the deepest tissue massage of your life but if youve been searching for someone to wage a battle against your tension, your search is over my friend--Fouad is your knight.P.S. arrive early as parking is metered street parking but its well worth it. Or just take the T: orange line to back Bay is a 0.4 mi walk or green line to Arlington is a 0.2 mi walk.

I dont have a membership, I visited here on a whim and had the worst massage of my life. Ill admit that I shouldve said no to the massage gun from the start. There was a point in the massage where I was laying on my front, and the masseuse kept the massage gun on my upper thigh for five minutes. Im not sure what to make of that, and I asked her to stop the machine before I wouldve been charged extra. The only positive I can say here is that the massage gun did not end up on the bill. Also, near the end of the massage, the masseuse stopped abruptly before finishing my other leg and left the room without a word. It almost sounded like she sobbed a little on the way out which, Im not sure if I actually heard a sob or not but again, weird. I hope shes okay because I truly dont understand what happened there.My biggest issue is that when I booked the massage over the phone I was told it would be $80--I even canceled a different same-day appointment because this one was cheaper--however the price I was told after Id received the massage was $120! There was a receptionist switch during my massage, so I couldnt talk with the person who had told me the original price, and the new receptionists would not honor the price I was told over the phone. Dont waste your time or money here, this is the sketchiest Massage Envy Ive ever been to.
I give ZERO STARS but that’s not an option. This location is a scam. My elderly mother was a loyal customer for years before the pandemic. During the pandemic they continued to charge her monthly fees even though she wasn’t allowed to come. She asked for the membership to stop. Was told it would yet they kept charging her. She kept going back to work with them. They gave her the same line and DID NOTHING and continued to take her money. Amex got involved to some extend and massage envy is now blocked from making charges as that was the only way to make the charges stop. She is out nearly $800! Was it really worth losing a loyal customer? And don’t tell me to go to that location directly to complain that’s been done over and over and NOTHING happens. This is your reputation on the line. Do something about it!

I love this place. Easily accessible from the T. Front desk workers are always super friendly. And I LOVE going to PaulT (this is her name when I book her online, but it sounds like they call her Pauly in person??). She is incredible. Very receptive to what I want, adjusts pressure as asked, and remembers your preferences for future visits. I hardly have to say anything during my sessions anymore, because she knows just what to do!

Back Bay location: Unprofessional front desk staff, multiple inappropriate therapists either exposing me, flirting with me, or disrespecting my boundaries. Others just weren’t very skilled. Had to use my credit card to finally cancel after the manager evaded my requests over a span of 5 months (or didn’t know how to properly process the request) and the franchise office couldn’t help. I’m surprised this place is still open. You get what you pay for.
I called Massage Envy and ordered a gift card for a sports massage as a present for my husband. I gave my delivery address, credit card details etc to the employee and was told that the gift card would be mailed out that day (March 3rd 2023). I called the following week as the gift card hadn’t arrived, was told that it had been mailed and to keep a lookout for it. After numerous attempts to speak to someone (leaving voicemails and not having my calls returned) I became suspicious. They had charged my credit card for the service ($85). Today is March 30th (27 days after I ordered the gift card) and I have yet to hear from Massage Envy. My credit card company has reimbursed me for the charge and are now dealing with Massage Envy. I urge you to find another massage therapist in Boston. This location is a nightmare to deal with and we will NEVER go there.
Tecora always checks in to see what is needed before the start of the massage: tight/problem spots and preferred pressure, resulting in a great experience. She’s also consistent in reminding me to hydrate and other ways to stay loose between sessions.

Canceled my membership that Ive had since 2015 after multiple issues with poor massage therapist quality. Ive carried this membership through 3 different locations, and generally have gotten average quality massages here, but the Back Bay location made my decision to cancel officially. Had an especially poor experience with Foaud who ended up giving me such a deep tissue massage that he drew blood on my scalp and neck, and also caused 4-5 bruises on my neck that didnt recover for two weeks. Ended up having to stop the massage partway through to tell him after three requests to lessen the intensity and not to touch me in the areas that were highlighted as no-go zones. The front desk has always been friendly and professional, and in this case, they were very good in hearing my concerns (e.g. not asking if I wanted to leave gratuity, not charging for my appointment), and even noted that this isnt the first time that customers have filed complaints against him. The manager was supposed to call me to follow up, but they never did. Foaud is still working there, which is extremely disappointing. Ive come across maybe 1-2 decent therapists there, but theyve all left, and I can see why.
Fouad is knowledgeable and provides excellent therapeutic massages. Excellent for runners and other athletes.

I am getting no answers and now every time i call they put me on HOLD. absolutely bizarre, I have been a loyal member for over a year now and Im relocating soon, so I just want to cancel my membership which is obviously proving to be way harder than it should be. Its businesses like this that completely turn me off a subscription model. DO NOT BECOME A MEMBER, they will continue taking your money and act CHILDISH when you try to cancel your membership!

Extremely disappointing customer service, possibly the worst Ive ever seen. Several months ago, I decided I wanted to cancel my membership as I was not using my massages and had accrued upwards of 10-15. I was automatically renewed and continued to be charged without any sort of notice; originally when I had signed up I had thought it was only a 1 year commitment. I reached out to my local Massage Envy where I usually go, but they said I needed to get in touch with the location where I signed up as they are all independently owned and operated--understandable.When I called looking for the form to cancel my membership, they said they were unable to send it via email and that I would have to come to the location to fill it out. I explained that this was very inconvenient for me, as although I originally had signed up there I no longer live anywhere close to that location. They said they would ask the manager if they could email it to me. I never heard from anyone. This happened several times, so finally I just decided to make the trip all the way there. I spoke with a gentleman at the desk who was very helpful, but explained that if I cancelled I would lose out of all my massages that I had accrued after 60 days. Now, with 12+ massages accrued and no intention of using that many massages in the course of 60 days, I am losing out on upwards of $700--which is honestly ridiculous. The gentleman offered the suggestion of freezing my account for about $10/mo. instead of cancelling so that I could continue to use my massages without paying the full monthly fee and accruing more. I filled out the form for this and was told that I would get confirmation from a manager--which I never did. A few weeks pass, and sure enough, my regular monthly charge appears. I called and asked to speak to a manager to get this sorted out, and was told a manager would call me back. They never did. I thought it was possible that the membership freeze would not go through until the following month, so I let it go. Sure enough, another charge appeared for July. I called FIVE days ago and left my contact info and was told a manager would follow up with me. They never did.I have now emailed the corporate office as well as the manager and have received ZERO assistance with this. A member should not have to jump through hoops and be ignored for months in order to make adjustments to their account. I have been a member for several years now---if this is how you treat your members then Im surprised you have any left. I will be escalating this matter due to the amount of money Ive lost while waiting for assistance.

I have been a customer of Massage Envys for years and lately it has become impossible to schedule an appointment because the front desk wont pick up the phone. Today I called 4 times in the course of 45 minutes, the last two times standing across the street where I could see that the attendant was at her desk and was just refusing to pick up.I have put my account on hold, am going to use up my banked massages and will then cancel. Ive had enough of these guys.The sad thing is that the masseuses are actually pretty good, but if I cant get access to them, its not worth paying for their service in advance.
Ive never written a review before because literally who has the time but this is actually the worse service Ive ever experienced. I sincerely hope that no one who reads has the displeasure of having their time utterly wasted. I never even made it in. They cancelled my appointment not once, but twice, are making it impossible to reschedule and even more impossible to redeem the free points I was given as a consolation. I would give it 0 stars if I could.

Didn’t offer any compensation or solution other than rescheduling—not acceptable considering they have a 24 hour cancellation policy and I would’ve been charged for my massage but they can cancel on me a couple hours prior without any repercussions.

While the massages were decent if you could find the right therapist and keep requesting them, as a company and this location in particular they are not trustworthy. I have canceled my account over a year ago and owe me over a years worth of payments and will not respond anymore. They admitted their error and even refunded a couple charges and yet i am still getting billed ever 5 months of trying to stop. Stephanie the manager (am withholding her last name) seems to want to be helpful, but I believe it is the owners of this location that are sketchy.Also, note that ME has two class action lawsuits related to deceptive membership practices.

The massage was fine. The front desk is horrible. Did I say horrible? Well, I was being nice. They literally incapable of making an appointment. When they do, they mess it up. I tried to call to correct there mistake when they sent me an automated message telling me of the incorrect time. Unfortunately, their front desk couldnt be bothered calling me back. I only left four messages telling them about their error and asking them to call me back. The following day they still failed to call me back.If I thought their front desk screwed up just this one time, it wouldnt be a big deal. But, sadly, it is the norm.When you are there in person, the people at the front desk are actually annoyed if you want to make an appointment.
I kept asking her to lighten up the pressure but it was super painful. There aren’t showers or anything so you just leave covered in massage oil. I’d go somewhere else to have a better experience and get your money’s worth
The massages were much better before I signed up for a membership. I’ve seen the desk staff inform the massage therapists that their next guest is a member. I’m not sure if the quality decreases once they hook you, but these are my observations.
Unskilled masseuse left bruises on my body due to not using a correct technique. Pressure was fine but technique was all off, not getting into the muscle and on the bone sometimes. Ive been getting massages for 15+ years from all over the US. Front desk was also very uncaring, didnt ask how my massage was or anything, just told me my total. Very unhappy with this ME experience.

Cesarina is the best massage therapist I’ve had and keeps me running and biking and swimming injury free.
Massage envy makes it very dificult to put your card on hold. I have had difficulty getting an appointment. I have paid for 12 massages yet , if I quit then I only have 60 days to use them and I cant get an appointment. In order to put it on hold, I have to go to the store myself and sign a piece of paper. This shoul be able to be done online or at least by phone with some security questions. The massages I have had have been just ok, but most annoying is the inability to use the massages I have. For example I called to get an appointment on Monday , hoping to get one on say Thursday or Friday and I could get one in 2 weeks on a Thursday early morning. I want to be able to get the massages I paid for and freeze the account so I can use them....They just keep taking my money. That works for them.
This Massage Envy location demonstrates some of the worst customer service I have experienced and runs their business on very non-customer friendly policies. I have explained my situation below, but do keep in mind that each Massage Envy location is independently owned and some locations are far better than others. Additionally, this is not a reflection on the massage therapists that work there.I had a monthly membership and was extremely satisfied with my masseuse. I started traveling for work and could not visit as frequently, so had 9 massages accrued at one point. When I spoke to a staff member about canceling, they suggested they place a 6mo. hold (i.e. active account with no monthly charges) on my account so I can catch up. After that, it seems they reinstated the normal monthly charges.During that time, my bank had sent me a new credit card as they transitioned to chip technology and I had switched phone numbers. I am told someone from here tried to contact me multiple times to switch the credit card on my account and suspended it after they could not reach me. Since I no longer visited the location, I had no idea this had occurred.It is now a year later, I have since moved and have a more stable travel situation. When I tried to transfer my membership to a new location closer to my house, I was told the Back Bay location would have to remove the suspension first.I called this location and was told I had to pay for the past year in order for them to reactivate my account. Bear in mind that I have not used their service for two years now and I received no written notification or an email to inform me of the above situation. I was told their manager (Stephanie) might be able to help and would call me, she never did. I finally got in touch with her and she tried to cut a deal with me that still required me to pay an absurd amount for a service I wasnt even allowed to use considering the suspension.I submitted a grievance to Massage Envy directly and received over a week later telling me they have passed on my grievance to their manager, and that the manager would contact me directly - which never happened. The new location I am trying to transfer to has made multiple unsuccessful attempts to get in touch with the manager.This doesnt seem to be the first negative review on this topic, I am extremely disappointed that the Massage Envy franchise would entrust their brands reputation with such irresponsible owners.

I really dont know where to start... I happily joined massage envy in Saugus, MA back in 2012, during that year I was only able to get a massage the 1st day. They were never able to find my account anyways A year later I went to a diff. location to cancel they said they did then I realized that my account was still being charged througout all of 2013! then I complaint to 3 different locations. I was told that I could not get a refound because they dont do refounds so they did finally cancel my membership and gave me 2 months to finish using my 11-12 massages that I had paid for!!! 12 massages to which I could only use 4 because I ran out of time and after those 2 months I was not able to use them again those are 8 massages they charged me for that I could not use.. services that I shouldnt have been charged in the begining because I had canceled my membership a year ago. I am losing $400 of services here because when thou it was not my fault that they hire incompetent people to work at their facilities I was still not able to get those services as gift cards to transfter to other ppeople or to use i a future.. the manager in Saugus, MA technically was forcing me to use couples massages or get 2 hrs massage and facil so I could use all of the 12 services I have paid for before I ran out of time. For personal reasons I couldnt use the massages during the 2 period time they gave me. I just dont think it is fair that I losing my money and I was not able to fully get the services I paid for even when It was not my fault but theirs what happened to my account.
Not Great For Locals But Great For Out-of-TownersHaving commuted back and forth between NJ/NYC and Boston for the last 4-5 years, I would book appointments between the Back Bay location and my home ME including several locations in California or wherever I end up traveling.Each location is managed by a different owners so policies, enforcement of policies, quality of therapists and quality of customer service varies wildly. Unfortunately, the customer service at the Boston Back Bay location is fairly poor and inconsistent during my experiences. The managers at this location responds, if and when they choose to respond, in a retaliatory fashion instead of learning how to de-escalate a sensitive issue and not make a customer feel so little and worthless. There seems to be a lack of sincerity and human touch in lieu of generating profits with the Back Bay staff. The front desk receptionists have no power to address customer concerns or are unadequately trained during the onboarding process when hired - a reflection of management. What the front desk receptionists and the managers tell you changes widely when discussing issues at hand including the handling of very sensitive situations.The ME Back Bay location is great for convenience. Not for quality. You do get what you pay for. If you are going to make a dedicated investment (by going into a contract with them) and are a Boston local, I highly recommend moving on from ME and explore other massage therapists in the area.

Trying to take an appointment for my wife but this location massage envy is not responding properly keeping us wait on the phone for long and then no response from the other side. Is this the treatment we deserve as a customer? There is something fraud going on I believe.
