My gal friend and I booked in for a massage on fairly short notice and luckily there had been a cancellation for a morning slot (11 am) on a Saturday. I think because we had one of the earlier appointments, there was plenty of time to relax in the water area before our treatments and the space didnt feel too crowded. However, by the time we were leaving the locker room did feel a bit tight so I can see why other people have left that feedback in the review. I had a fabulous masseuse, she didnt talk because I asked for relaxation except to check in with me and she listened hard when I said deep tissue for my Therapeutic massage - she was a wizard and found the exact spot I have an issue and really worked on lengthening and breaking up the fascia. My friend however said hers was just so so, felt good but the masseuse didnt really listen to her requests and for how much this experience costs you really hope that there are nothing but excellent masseuses.

Hands down most relaxing and incredibly warm feeling I have ever had from a massage. This spa is top tier and uses Biologique Recherche—the crème de la crème of skincare.

My husband surprised me with a couples massage and we were very excited to spend some time relaxing together. However, upon arrival they immediately separated us to different locker rooms before the appointment. The facility was nice and had a hot tub, steam room and sitting area. When they escorted me to the treatment room It was a large space with comfy couches in addition to the tables. I thought we would be given time to enjoy the space. However, the massages started immediately and once done, they escorted us directly back to our separate locker rooms. We barely had even 30 seconds to speak and decide what time to meet back out front in the lobby.Overall, the massages were lovely, if overpriced, but we both left wondering what the point of having a couples package was if we we couldnt spend any time together.

Second time at the Spa. First time It was for my Birthday. This time I brought my mom for her Birthday. It was okay this time, we were getting harrassed about our phones but apart from that, it was cool. Mom loved her massage thats all that counts. Mine was okay. The first time I went was wayyy better! There is Valet parking for $32. Apart from that, you would have to find a parking garage or parking on the street which is difficult in Boston.

My last massage was absolutely not worth the money. My 2 year old would have done a better job. What a waste of my precious money. He spent more time tucking the sheets than actually working on my body.

I dont make it a practice to leave poor reviews but when I spend this much on a luxury service and am left this disappointed, I think its worth it to warn more than only my friends. The stars are for the incredible massage therapist who was truly talented and really one of the finest professionals Ive ever been to. It was a first class massage. The front desk staff were excellent. The issue is that for what you spend at this spa you are promised more than just a treatment. You are promised a relaxing spa experience. But its not relaxing if the locker area is packed, if the relaxation area is over full and there arent enough reclining chairs and you are told you can sit in the pool area to wait for your service. (Its not a pool. Its the shower area/jacuzzi space and although its nice, its not meant to be the area where you wait for your service). There are plenty of places in Boston and the surrounding suburbs where you can get a first class massage or facial but thats not why people come to the Mandarin Oriental. I paid almost half the price of a standard massage in parking alone. Im ok with that. Im not ok with not getting the experience that I expected. I couldnt even dry my hair because there were too many other people in the tight locker space with me. That would be fine normally, but not for what I expected and what I paid. The massage therapist, the front desk staff all 5 star. Whoever nickel and dimed the schedule and decided it would be ok to pack guests in like that gets no stars.

It was my first experience and from what I can share - it was worth it! The spa is well-settled for all kinds of commodity that pleases you,i.e., jet jacuzzi, steam room, the relax parlor. The amenities were on point. My massager did an excellent job. I recommend the spa and their excellent service!

I am all about amazing experiences! And unfortunately there is no guarantee everything I partake in, will be just that! However, the Spa at Mandarin Oriental in Boston nails it, every dang time!!! 🥳They never disappoint!!! Their attention to detail, as well as their warm and inviting atmosphere, cocoons you like a snuggly blanket! I’m going to leave a little bit of a mystery, only because I feel you have to experience it to truly get what I mean!I book my appts with Lisa the amazing 🤩, way in advance, because no one cancels their appt at the Mandarin! A massage is difficult to score! I go in tense, but glide out feeling like I’m on cloud nine!! I sometimes feel I should have a bodyguard so I don’t fall flat on my face. Lisa has magic hands! To be fair your experience starts when u first walk in! Whether greeted by Martha’s warm inviting smile, or any of the other gals at the check in desk, you will feel the LOVE! And from there it just gets better! After check in is the part you have to fill in on your own, what comes next⁉️

Just okay.I’m the queen of spending cash for a great experience. However, I was incredibly underwhelmed at the Mandarin. Having previous visited the location in San Francisco, I was looking for the same top notch experience, not to be.The staff was very kind but the pre massage facilities were not all working when I arrived. The pool was out and the sauna was on the fritz. The relaxation room had so many people coming in and out, that it was less than relaxing. My masseuse spent very little time on the areas that I pointed out on my sheet. She also talked, a lot.I would go elsewhere at this price point.

Relaxing and nice luxury spa settings with good massage therapists, but also you can get similar massages way cheaper outside, definitely not worth for the value.

This place was so wonderful. Everything was so relaxing, and the staff were lovely. I highly recommend the Rose body treatment, the masseuse mentioned it was her favourite as it was the most gentle but most effective of their scrubs. The entire experience from steam room through the individual treatments had so many thoughtful little things included.

I will give 10 stars if I can! On the scale of 5Location: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(5mins walk from green line)Staff: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (they are super friendly and helpful)Facilities: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(Loving the spa and sona)Massage: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(Definitely one of the best I have)I like getting massage a lot and normally there are two different types I’d say. First one is for therapy that the massage therapist really works on healing some muscle sore or other problems. The second one is for relaxation that the massager might not focus on specific one but the overall experience is very relaxing! And this place offer both! I felt extremely relaxed after my section and also my neck and shoulder pain was gone completely. It is very rare to find a place offer both within a reasonable price range. I really love this place, and I encourage everyone visit whenever you have a chance!

Very good Spa packages. We had a great time. There are not much to do before your treatments though. 30 min is more than enough in the facilities they offer. Steam room and jacuzzi “pool”. Color changing shower is waste of space (in my opinion). Sauna would be way more useful.

The first time I went to the spa I was quite nervous, not knowing what it would be like to go there. Going with my friend, the two of us were equally clueless so we hesitated and didnt dare go in. Mustering up the courage to step inside, you will realize that the space here is quite spacious, airy and polite. But what I like most here is that the staff is enthusiastic and very friendly. During the massage, they always ask me if it hurts, if the stone is too hot... Their enthusiasm. makes me feel satisfied. First time going to the spa, and hope to come here again next time.
