Visiting Landon’s Sugar Shack for the first time today with my brother and sister-in-law. We were really impressed! I was a chef for about 10 years, so I can be a little critical, but overall the experience was fantastic. I really like the outside seating and will be back for it, our server, Butch, was fantastic. Everybody was working together really well - runners, hostesses, bartenders, and service. My moms Burger looked excellent, and she said it was delicious. I ordered some mozzarella sticks to share and didnt realize how big they were.. I almost filled up on those! The “Plenty Ó Fish Meal” is really nice in size and the fish is fresh. My wife said the bullet fried chicken was her favorite! I felt like it had a really good balance and wait to it. I would definitely come here again.
My visit to Landons Sugar Shack was pretty good. Staff greeted me promptly and was very nice. The restaurant is large and spacious and would probably make a great place to host a large party. Menu looks like it has some eclectic tasty options.. I went for the donut burger with the local donuts. Burger was cooked perfectly, could have used one less donut, needed a ton of napkins and a knife. Fries were unremarkable, but overall, a good meal. The deduct on the star was for the wait, but I would try again.
Located on Chestnut Street in Bowling Green, Ky sits Landons Sugar Shack. I would consider it a hole in the wall, but thats where you find the best food, and my wife and I were not disappointed. We decided to get cheese sticks for appetizer. They came out the size of egg rolls. I had a hard time deciding on my entree. I eventually went with fried fish. Im so sorry, grandma, but this was the best fish Ive ever had. The owner explained that his fried fish has won best fish in Lexington 7 years in a row. I can vouch for that.My wife had one of the juiciest and most flavorful chicken sandwiches Id ever bitten into.To top it all off we had Apple pie egg rolls for dessert. Perfection is the only word I can use to describe it.Im actually disappointed that I couldnt try other items on the menu.If youre ever in Bowling Green, do yourself a favor and go to Landons Sugar Shack.
I finally, finally, finally took the kids on a date to Landon’s Sugar Shack and it did not DISAPPOINT!It’s very cutely designed, and I’m definitely a vibes/music type of person and the vibe is definitely set with best R&B!We started with the Buffalo Chicken Dip! 🔥 It was so good (it might have my Aunt Kim’s beat! 😂)I had to have me a dranky drank, I’m not a clear drinker lol but it was fun, it was cute and it tasted BOMB!For the entrees, I tried theBullet Fried Chicken, Caylee had the Donut Speak to Me Burger and Zy had the Mac and Cheese! It was sooooooo much food omg that I was so full and forgot to order dessert, but my experience was great, Butch was an amazing server and very attentive, we will definitely be back! Y’ALL GO SUPPORT THIS LOCAL BUSINESS!
Loved our dinner at Landon’s Sugar Shack. Butch, our server, did an excellent job of greeting and explaining the specials and other menu items. Service was top notch all night. The steak was perfect and sides were generous portions. The red velvet cake (to go) was the best I have ever had and enough for 3 people to share!Loved the fun interior deco. Great food and atmosphere for special occasions or anytime you are wanting a delicious meal.
My girl and I tried Landon’s for an evening meal. The best word I can think of to describe the experience is “unexceptional.” The photos and recipes they advertise make the food look exceptional, but we were disappointed to find that it doesn’t live up to the hype. There was nothing negative about our evening, but the food was subpar for the price (a little salt would have gone a long way), the dining room had a kitschy motif, and the service was not overly attentive to our needs. I’m glad we tried it for ourselves, but we don’t plan on going back until they make some changes.
A wonderful restaurant with some amazing food! Its a fun vibe to enjoy a dinner and have a couple of drinks with friends. Their menu has something for everyone and the portions are huge and good for sharing, I had a steak and apple pie egg rolls for dessert which were to die for! Definitely recommend and will be back.
Really enjoyed eating here! The atmosphere is nice and the food is even better! I enjoyed their sugar shack sticks that were egg roll wrapped mozzarella sticks and their filet was amazing! It’s a little pricey but once you receive your food, you know why! Definitely give them a try! They are open til 3 am on the weekends and it’s nice to have somewhere to eat good food when going out late.
Amazing experience at Landons Sugar Shack! This restaurant is unique and like nothing else you’ll try in Bowling Green with their dry ice drinks and unique food. Servers had nice manners and quick service. The decor of the restaurant is so bright and like no other. Me and my family traveled to try this restaurant and can’t wait to make another trip back!!
Dive bar cuisine, American pop art, and Lady Gagas greatest hits whats not to love. We were seated immediately by a nice gentleman who was as warm as he was familiar with the menu. He explained all the menu items we asked about, and was very courteous during our visit. All the wait staff had a pep in their step and we almost saw one of the servers absolutely launch a tray of buffalo dip. This staff would be welcome at any restaurant in Bowling Green. The food was served beautifully and well worth the wait. I look forward to returning, because this place would give most places in Vegas a run for their money. Come grab a bite, since their hours and seats are limited, your taste buds will thank you. Perfect intimate atmosphere for an inexpensive date. 60 cent wings Wednesday came in clutch!
I attended a birthday party here. To start we were only given menus after one of the party members went for them. No one came to take food or drink orders but a 20% gratuity was added to each order. I ordered a Long Island and cognac on the rocks. The drinks were served in the tiniest plastic cups, definitely over priced for what I received. I also ordered the fried fish platter. When I went back to the bar to get my food I had to ask for silverware, upon receiving the silverware I was told I could not take it with me. Now this is either a common occurrence here or I was really giving off “silverware thief” vibes. I can’t comment on the food because it was for someone else. All in all the service or lack there of was not great by any means. I have no intention of returning any time soon.
The smell of Glade Plug-ins was absolutely nauseating! There were air fresheners plugged in all over and thwy were so strong! This place was also filthy. They sat us down at a dirty table, visibly covered in crumbs and food. We had to ask them to clean it. The staff looked dirty and disheveled in wrinkled clothes. They looked like they just rolled out of bed. We were going to leave before they took our order but felt embarrassed to get up and leave. There were 3 if us, we each had a different burger on the menu. Food was not bad. Fries seemed like just frozen French fries and they werent cooked through enough. Burgers were cooked good. Honestly, we couldnt enjoy our food through the overwhelming air freshener. It mad us feel sick. We quickly paid and left without finishing. I was so disappointed.
Im not one to leave reviews often but i had to on this one. My group and I were really excited to try this place! hearing it’s LGBTQ+ made it even more attention grabbing. However this is not what i thought it was going to be. We went for drag bingo and right off the bat it seemed very disorganized but we thought we’d still give it a chance. After finding our seats we looked over the menus and went up to the bar to order. There were complications when trying to order the shack appetizer ( a little bit of everything on the appetizer list ) but the cook refused to make it but would make all the other appetizers individually. That was weird but we just ran with it and ordered chicken dip and the egg role mozzarella sticks. We also ordered 2 drinks which one ended up having 2 gnats in it, and another in a fish bowl that tasted awful and not worth the 28$ that says it includes dry ice which makes it that much however it didn’t have dry ice in it at all. Overall this place has potential it is super cute on the inside! but the service, food, pricing and everything else was not worth the time , money, and hassle.
Came for a company dinner, first time there. Great selection of dinner entrees, but despite our limiting our menu options to make it easier on the kitchen, it took more than 50 minutes from the first entree to the last entree. Sampler appetizers were fantastic. Bar drinks were a good pour. Great front end staff. Owner/manager came by to check on us. Were convinced theyll get better.
This place is so cool! The atmosphere was such a great vibe. The food is beautiful and delicious. Even with it being very busy, Landon’s Sugar Shack still gave 10/10 customer service. I was so surprised that and the place is gorgeous inside. Love the decor.I had the Plenty Ó Fish, my partner had a 8oz steak. The salad it came with was epic. Also, the dressing the steak comes with for the is just phenomenal. I think its garlic. I was taking bites off his place lol the appetizer we had was so good, loved the variety of sauces. The kids and adults alike all had a blast will definitely be back!
I use a cane, no handicap access! Steps in front, no rail! There were 9 of us in a Birthday meal! The minute you enter the building, the smell of old smoke, old dirty carpet! There were only 2 other people in the restaurant! Carpet looks old and dirty! Waitress was great, food was very good, until 2 of us found a hair in our food! Waitress and owner were very apologetic and 2 meals were taken off tab! Owner also gave the 2 with the hair, a free meal for a future visit! I dont think we will be going back there! So sorry, this was our first time there!
Was blown away by the amazing food! Set up is a bit different. Believe there was 1 server for the whole place. So service was a little slow. Ran out of hoagie buns for the dip sandwich but replaced with a brioche bun, and it was amazing! So flavorful and tender. Fries were equally great. For the inconvenience dessert was on the house. I will definitely be back!
I was hoping for more honesty the food I had was good (the bourbon jam burger, cheese sticks) its the place its self the entrance smells like a sewer and has just a dingy grime all over. its like whoever opened this place instead of a massive remodel that it needs just slapped paint on a couple walls and called it good. Also music is extremely loud and you can hear kitchen staff yelling over the music. Better food and better price to be had elsewhere in town
We went on Father’s Day and it seemed like they were out of a lot of the menu items. It seems like the server should have known what they were out of told us before we ordered. The majority of my group wanted the fish and they were out of it. They claimed that they had a busy weekend. We also waited a long time for our food to come out. The food is good, but they need to work on their customer service and having the food that is on the menu.
My girlfriend and I were so excited to come here and try this with our family in town to be let down by awful service, expensive prices, and undrinkable cocktails. When we went to order they told us their kitchen said “they just weren’t making that”, being their Shack Sampler (which includes majority of their appetizers) but we could order them individually. We proceeded to order drinks one of which had two gnats in it and the other $28 drink which was like sipping on a shot of vodka. This was not the experience we were hoping for especially after spending $60 on appetizers and 2 drinks. Will not be going again :(
Amazing food and service to match. The only downside is the price however I would say you should expect that when you go to a place like this. I had stake and a 53OZ cocktail. Both were wonderful and the stake was cooked exactly as I requested it. My waiter Jarrett was very informative and friendly. I definitely recommend treating yourself to this place at least once.
Didnt have the greatest visit here. Stopped in for a quick bite after an event, ordered the sirloin, and steak came out severely undercooked. The server was not very attentive being the only 2 people in the restaurant dining in. Sides were also somewhat bland, overall just not a good experience, especially for the price and lack of service. Ill pass on another trip to the suger shack
The I’m filetin boujee was the best filet I have ever put in my mouth 😋Our server Jarrett was absolutely phenomenal, very informative and knowledgeable about all the foods and gave great suggestions. The garlic mashed potatoes were amazing! You cannot go wrong with the egg roll cheese sticks and spicy marinara sauce either!Best part there was not wait. And the sweet tea is the bomb!
Hands down the best customer service out of anywhere we have eaten! Landon was such an amazing person and went above and beyond our expectations of a restaurant. The food was great, great waitor, and the owner came over to ask how our food was as well! I would give 6 stars if I could! Thanks for such a great experience for my family and I. The wings were surprisingly VERY GOOD
Can’t even make a grilled cheese. Came out and said the bread kept falling apart. Says fresh never frozen. The burger patty’s sure seemed frozen.Edit in response: I realize a substitution was offered well after all the adults were halfway done with their meals. However, it worries me that an item as simple as a grilled cheese was providing so much trouble. As far as not addressing while there. There was a toddler who had hardly eaten because her meal arrived after all the adults meals were over. The group was ready to go and get out of there. And seeing as how this is the first 1⭐️ review I have ever given a restaurant on Google or in Bowling Green in general, I think there is plenty of grace given for the industry as a whole.
My husband’s birthday- about 6:45 on Saturday night. No wait, we were seated immediately. Not a good sign in Bowling Green. The appetizer ordered …oh out of the chutney dip. (The reason I ordered it). My mixed drink came. Out of strawberries. But it was good without them. When ordering dinner. We ordered the Grilled Caesar and the Wedge. And then Shrimp & grits, and I ordered the salmon with wild rice, and haricot verts. Oh… out of rice, and the waiter didn’t know what haricot verts were. I had to point it out on the side items… “oh we’re out of those too.” So I got a hamburger, and a side of southern green beans. None of which I really wanted, but availability was somewhat limited. Another waiter brought our entrees and sat them down, and we had to flag someone down to request napkins and utensils. The grits were not hot, but at least not cold. My burger looked nice but it was mealy and again… we had to wait to get someone to bring condiments. The green beans were just terrible. After we were well into dinner, our waiter arrived with the salads! We had assumed that we weren’t going to get them. (Same thing happened to the only other table in the room) —so…5 large plates will not fit on those tiny tables, so we started moving leftover appetizers onto our dinner plates to make room. My “grilled Caesar salad” was a plate full of iceberg lettuce with a dressing on top. I asked why it wasn’t grilled as described on the menu. And the waiter said,“I don’t know why it says grilled on the menu. It isn’t. We might get the Romaine lettuce next week” I told him to take it back.Overall, it was a disappointment. I have to say that I am not a fan of the daycare stripes painted on the grand old building either, but the menu looked pretty and the options were good, so we thought we would try it. I know that it’s a new restaurant, and we know that it takes a while to work the kinks out, and we understand that “we were so slammed today”. But after our experience- I don’t think that we will be going back. I had invited 2 sets of friends or family there for lunch this coming week- which I have since canceled. The waiter did point out a code printed in the middle of the table to scan for 2$ off since so many things were out. 🙄I did enjoy the mozzarella egg rolls- if they would have had the chutney dipping sauce… they would have really had something! All was not lost tho, we stopped on the way home by the original sugar shack— GADS donuts! I wish this restaurant good luck and I really hope that they stay “slammed” every day, but maybe order extra supplies, so that the dinner crowd can order a decent meal.
I was excited to go to this restaurant because of the online advertising of signature drinks and food thats not served anywhere else in Bowling Green. When I ordered my drink, I was told they were out of dry ice. When our drinks were bought to the table, they did not look the same. My sons had ordered the same drink. Appetizers were bought out and my son had to go ask for dishes to place our food on. The womens bathroom was locked so I inquired about another one. I was shown to one of the filthiest bathrooms Ive ever walked into at a restaurant. There was a toilet sink and another toilet all in one room. One toilet bowl was covered in feces, the other had a dirty ring around the bowl. The sink had long strands of dark hair in it. The floor had dirty shoe prints and hair all over it. I did let the server know it was filthy. If your bathroom is dirty what does it say about the overall place? I will not go there again. It was not busy and they had only been open for 2 hours.
So much fun! I went once when it was just a restaurant, but now I love to go in the evenings too. Great performances, good food, and the owner and his dad are both very cool!
Was driving down to Nashville and searched “Restaurants open” Food was great, the restaurant has a fun vibe yet elegant with chandeliers. The “Rockiń Rainbow” drink was great and the bartender Jarrett was amazing. Definitely a great spot to grab drinks or food!
Stopped by for lunch…. its really trendy both inside and out first of all and I enjoyed the artwork and vibe throughout. I ordered the Sweet Brussels to start 🤤 and would’ve been satisfied if that was all I got because they were *FIRE*!!! I also ordered the Slammin Salmon as my main dish…. Also *FIRE*!!! The salmon was tender inside but perfectly blackened on the outside. The jalapeño pineapple chutney that topped the salmon was the perfect combo of sweet and spicy. I also must mention the pickled red onion (which they also make in-house), as the perfect finishing touch. Everything in me wanted to order the Apple Pie Eggrolls for dessert BUT I did not want to overdo it and fall asleep at my desk when I returned to work. At the end of the meal, Landon himself came to the table to ensure we were happy with our meal and service. Looking forward to returning and trying something different. Stay tuned!
They didn’t have the the dish I wanted, also out of the dry ice for the drink we ordered. Descent food, bit overpriced, cool atmosphere.Love to support locally owned businesses tho…worth checking out!
Ok look the vibes were weird at first... 8pm on a Saturday theres nobody here. BUT then my server, Maison, came around and made everything great. I ordered the filet mignon ... best thing Ive put in my mouth this year. Highly recommend it.
Our server Mason was wonderful! Super sweet and attentive! Nashville hot chicken sandwich was 10/10! Will definitely come back when in town next! Thanks again, Mason!
Waited over an hour for food when we were the only people there. Whole place smelled like cigarettes which was super gross. It was also really overpriced for the amount of food it was. Pasta was good though. Won’t be coming back.
Great food and great service! The building is super neat looking. We loved our appetizers and the bourbon burger with bacon jam was delicious. Can’t wait to go back and support them more!
Food was cold. Most of our food we got wasn’t cooked. Waited over an hour just for our appetizers. Was charged for a big party when there was only six of us. No high chairs. Out of a lot of food that we were supposed to get and didn’t even tell us till we got our food and didn’t offer use anything else in place. We will not be back.
They are definitely trying but the whole experience was lacking. The food and service was decent but the atmosphere was depressing. I felt it wasnt thought out. They hopefully will get a chance to prove they can succeed. They could not have been any nicer.
We want to try this place SOOOO BAD but can never get anyone to answer the phone to make a reservation. We made the mistake of showing up on Sunday without a reservation, we were seated promptly but then waited over 90 minutes for food that never came and we had other places to be. We assumed it was because of no reservation and have been trying consistently since to get a reservation, however as stated previously no one answers the phone.
Food was very good. The Donut Burger is a must. The sugar stacks also. Would love to try other items on the menu, I will eat here again.
Seated quickly and the service was nice. Fine dining at an affordable price. Appetizers are a must and well worth it.
I was very disappointed they took the salmon off the menu & there wasnt a large variety of things to choose from. Our waitress was wonderful!
Great restaurant! Can’t wait for full menu to be released.Do your self a favor and check them out! Thanks Landon!
Friendly nice people. The meal was huge. A bit greasy for catfish. But good overall
I had the slammin Nashville hot chicken sandwich with the green beans and it was great. The inside is super cute.
Place is an awesome! The food was amazing and definitely not like anything else around bowling green!
Their cook walked out. Burger I ordered medium rare was well done. Will not be back.
Fantastic food and amazing service.Quality menu. Wonderful time. Such a great evening. Highly reccomend.
