I used to like this place and have been coming here for a few weeks, apparently if your home locations rate is lower they will add on a market fee to charge you extra even if you have the sessions to cover it. Theyre one of 4 locations in the area that will do this, be warned- I guess i need to make sure to go to a different location
Facility is clean, modern and welcoming with convenient parking in the attached structure. It took me a couple tries to find the right therapist for me (Edith, she’s very knowledgeable about treating chronic pain), but once I did I got great results. Pricing is reasonable, especially if you get a membership.
I had a membership here for years and decided to cancel my membership temporarily because I was not going to be able to use it for a few months. They continued to charge my credit card every month. After repeated unreturned phone calls and even going into the location I had to dispute the charges and block them from making any further charges to my credit card. Management is completely worthless and dishonest. I even tried contacting corporate and got no response. Stay clear, the only positive reviews you will find are from people who havent tried to cancel their membership yet. There are many reputable massage places nearby.
Cant wait to cancel my membership. I just got out of a relaxing session only to have it ruined at checkout. I was upgraded to a 90 minute session for free because my appointment had previously been canceled at the last minute because the esthetician couldnt make it and now thats no longer the case. Ive had great sessions with the masseuse only to be ruined by the service of their counter staff. Im sorry but they lost my business.
This place has really dishonest business practices and is incredibly disorganized. If I wanted someone to gently rub lotion on me for 90 minutes, I couldve just asked my wife to do it. She wouldve done it for free, and I actually enjoy her company... One of the receptionists here flat-out lied to me over the phone just to fill a therapists schedule. (I asked for firm pressure over the phone, and what I received was nowhere near that. During the massage, I was asked how the pressure was, and I kindly encouraged the therapist to increase the pressure if possible. There was very little to no change,... this kid was obviously new.) I was so upset after the massage (not at the massage therapist, but the receptionist who booked the appointment), I told the person checking me out afterwards about my disappointment, and she told me shed have the manager call me that week... She also scheduled a massage for a week later with someone she guaranteed would be able to do a firm, deep tissue massage.Yesterday (six days later, around 11:00AM), I hadnt received that phone call from anyone at this location, so I called to cancel my appointment (no one answered, so I left a message, explicitly asking them to cancel the appointment). Before going through the trouble of showing up and trying again, I needed assurances that this massage would actually be a real massage, and not some disappointing, sorry excuse for a massage.Today, I just got a call (around 3:30PM), asking if I was going to make my previously scheduled massage. HEY! DOES ANYONE THINK IT MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA TO CHECK THE VOICEMAIL EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE?
I received notice in the mail today that membership fees are being raised 17% on my next billing cycle..WOW! I promptly called to terminate my membership and was told the cancellation was not valid until I submitted specific Massage Envy forms that would be mailed to me. Seriously? The kicker.....(wait for it)....all prepaid services on my account now expire in a limited number of days. How does Massage Envy Brea get away treating customers so poorly? Shame on you.
BEWARE FRAUD... I recently was charged $1,820.00 by Massage Envy. When I called the store i was told that she could see that the system had glitched and charged me for all the months since my membership was cancelled. I was told that the charges would be reversed however Massage Envy has yet to do that. If you have or have had a membership in the past check your credit card statements closely.
Massage Envy is a sham of a company and has been sued repeatedly for their membership policies. They rip off their therapists by paying them $17/hour, and it shows in the quality of the massages. Throughout the course of my 7 year membership, I dutifully paid my dues and tipped the mostly mediocre (or worse) therapists generously. I only complained about massages twice (because each was genuinely terrible) and both times I was given nothing more than a sympathetic look.If ME stood behind the quality of their product, they wouldnt make it impossible to cancel your membership. Heres how my last conversation with them went:Me: Hi, I completed my cancellation form because I moved to a new state and I was hoping you might be able to expedite it since my next EFT is 5 days from now.Them: usually it takes ten days, but Ill talk to my manager and check!*calls back a couple days later*Me: [explains situation]Them: ahh, yes! I have a note from my manager that says if its within the ten day window, we cant do anything and your next EFT will have to be withdrawn.Me: Could you tell me a little more about what the ten day period is needed for?Them: umm, well, my manager needs to review it...and...then he needs to send an email to corporate.Me: and that takes ten days?Them: yes!Me: okay, great. Ill make sure everyone on Yelp and Google knows about that!
Clean facilities and friendly reception staff.I tend to stick with one or two people who I know are good masseuse based on past experience or yelp reviews. The check in area is relaxing and always has water ready. Parking structure is super convenient.
I RARELY write reviews, but felt my massage experience tonight was worthy of one. Paul was amazing. What I thought was chronic shoulder tension causing my tension type headaches was actually my muscles in the front of my neck. I have never had these muscles massaged and it was incredible. I could feel the areas of referred pain as he was working them and as he continued they melted away. I have had 10+ massage therapists before (many at Massage Envy even) and no one massaged these muscles the way that Paul did. Thank you so much. I can wake up refreshed and much less grumpy for my kids tomorrow :)
I’ve been to other Massage Envy (ME) locations in the past and have had okay but not great experiences. This December I received a gift certificate to the Brea location and was referred to Sammora by the giver for a 60-minute massage. It was AMAZING!She uses moderate to firm pressure combined with stretching and mobility techniques to really get into the problem areas of your muscles.I could tell very quickly that she’s not just a regular “massage therapist”.Although I’m not a fan of ME’s push on their packages, subscriptions, or plans, Sammora’s work really almost has me convinced I’ll go back again.I feel like I definitely got my monies worth this time around, whereas the other ME locations I’ve been to have left me with a lack-luster experience.Book with Sammora! Please!
The staff is always on top of it! Great masseuses every time
Cannot get through to the actual store itself and only get offsite customer service that is rude and refuses to transfer directly to the store!!!!
Fabulous, great service, serene. I will go back! ❤️
They have remodeled the location, therapists are great!! Front desk is always always ready to help!
Will not go back. I had a horrible massage here and the therapist talked the entire time!
Horrible horrible!! And they won’t stop charging my card every month
I enjoyed my facial and the prices are great!
Good massage if walking on your back is ok!
I like more the one in Chino Hills.
