This is clearly not a well managed location. It’s been hell trying to cancel my membership. When I finally spoke with a manager on the phone she said she would freeze my account. They e-mailed the paperwork August 5th and I filled it out and dropped it off August 6th.Then to my surprise two days ago (August 19th) there is a charge for Massage Envy from my bank account. Why? I don’t know because I did exactly what I was instructed. Then to top it off when I call and ask to speak to the manager they are conveniently on vacation. The staff member I spoke to looked up my information and the response I got was “it looks like maybe it was because you didn’t have a doctors note”Here’s a tip. Get a new management staff or do your job before you go on vacation OR when someone drops off paperwork for membership cancellation OR freeze my account PROCESS THE PAPERWORK THE SAME DAY!F.Y.I you are in a HIPPA violation thinking you “need” a doctors note to freeze or cancel a membership before contract is up because you are not obtaining clients insurance information. You are not a medical clinic.Please enlighten yourself on what HIPPA covers. This is EXACTLY why doctors CANT give medical notes to you for people who need out of their contracts. You are not covered by insurance and are not a medical clinic and you don’t provide insurance for clients!Beyond frustrating!!
Massage was great. However, I have a coupon for upgrade for the month of May. Unable to upgrade to hot stone due to no one available to do it. I would need to schedule another appointment within week and pay for another Massage vs extending the upgrade to June. Manager not available at this location.

I moved almost a year ago and this new place I’m going to is way different from my original place in PA. This place has canceled 3-4 times. The last time I was parked in front of the business. They charge you $$$ if you cancel but there’s nothing if they cancel on you. After making a scene they offered me an enhancement (which I don’t use). My following appointment, they texted me with my appointment and the “technician” what I thought was a typo, it wasn’t with the person I set the appointment with. I didn’t want that person because I’m tired of getting a one hand massage because it’s so cold in the building.I find it amazing how different offices treat their clients. It’s almost like highway robbery @ this place.Try to cancel your membership is impossible. The wife has had it with this place and tried to cancel her membership and was told that all they can do is put a hold on it.If you want to look forward to a massage and constantly getting canceled and having disappointment, this place is for you!

My massages were great by Dominic but the customer service needs some help. Meaning this location needs to actually answer the phone. I had to make a 20 min drive-up there because I kept being put on hold until I hung up. I would call back and the same thing would happen. When I go in person, they are not rude, but could use more front desk staff for sure.
I really shouldnt Give this star at all but the review platform obviously is a little more lenient than reality. My mother had an awful experience and hearing about it drove me to take a soap box for this review. She booked an appointment over the phone on Monday for a following appointment Wednesday at 4pm. At that time no one asked her for any payment or credit card necessity to book this appointment. Some random person unknown to her of any employment with massage envy calls her asking for a credit card over the phone even it being Her first time ever acquiring any service from the company. Threatening to cancel her appointment the day before date of the appointment if she would not surrender her credit card info to some unknown caller from who knows. She replied that the credit card info would be given at the time of arrival. What person in their right mind would surrender any payment before any service or to any incoming call. So upon arrival after a 45 minutes drive was turned away and made known that her appointment had been canceled due to no card info being on file and still no service was receivedSo needless to say if we should have obviously read these reviews before because obviously a company requiring payment ahead of service isnt adequate enough to perform the services that they pretend to render. That 3.6 review grade says it all. Good luck to all who dont head these warnings and red flags.
I visited the Burlington location a few weeks ago and was very satisfied with the overall customer service. The massage provided to me by Christiana was extremely helpful for my lower back. This was my second time using a transferred credit however, I still had questions that the front desk associate Madison helped to answer. The manager was also in at the time and was very attentive to my questions. She made sure to put my mind as ease about the payment and was helpful with the add ons I wanted to purchase.
Scammed for money, with extremely disrespectful receptionist service.I was initially excited to receive a Massage Envy gift card from my wife as a present. She was quoted a price for the massage and loaded that amount along with tip. When I called to schedule my appointment the customer service nightmare took shape quickly. The receptionist I spoke with was extremely transactional and rude. I had to re-ask questions multiple times for her to acknowledge or address them. At one time during the conversation, I was placed on hold without any warning. I asked her about the pricing for the massage written on my envelope of the gift card (for confirmation), she quoted me a ~ 40% higher price. I told her this is not what my wife was quoted, and she (the receptionist) could care less. I’ve never been to a business with a receptionist that spoke with such entitlement (almost like I was doing them a favor for using their service).So, in short, I have a gift card that I’ll never use for Massage Envy (at least the one in Burlington), they won’t be getting another dime of our money and I encourage all to stay far away if you are looking to buy a gift card from this establishment. It’s unfortunate that I can’t comment on the massage therapists, they may be wonderful, but the dismal customer service of this establishment will certainly be the demise of the business. Buyer Beware!
My 5 stars is for Ashley. I have been a member at ME Burlington for several years. I personally prefer the facial to a massage, not that I dont like a massage, but the facial is so relaxing. I have tried multiple estheticians; some were good or ok, and some were not. Ashley has always made me comfortable, and I just love her personality. and finally told them I did not want to go to anyone else.A few months ago, they raised the membership yet again and I sadly had to cancel. I could no longer justify the increased cost and expense. The one thing I will definitely miss is my time with Ashley and my facials that I have come to need. Maybe one day I will renew, and I hope Ashley is there when/if that happens.
WORST PLACE - SUPER BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. They have cancelled my massage 3 times, 3rd time they cancelled because the masseuse was sick and didn’t know when she would be back.. I asked for a manager, well there was NO manager, I asked for my money back and front desk suggested to call corporate because there are NO Refunds . DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. Read the reviews and you will see I am not the only one. Horrible experience !!
By far the BEST experience I have had from a company in a long time! I had the pleasure of talking to Jay, Aria, and Chelsey. They answer all my questions and killed any reservations that I may have had. I will be booking a couples massage soon! Thank you ladies! I am so upset with Massage Envy at the Burlington location!! After reading reviews I’m more upset. Same issues!! I had set up a monthly plan also….. everything was fine until my therapist broke her arm & is unable to work. Called to see if there were other therapist available & was told they had recently had 3 to quit!! So, No there was no one available BUT still being BILLED EVERY MONTH for NO Service provided!! I’ve called numerous times (this week) asking for the manager to return my call and I have yet to hear from her!! This is ridiculous & wish I could do more……. DO NOT waste your $$$$$$!! Disgusted.
Have had a subscription with them for a year now and finally canceling it because I have found a better place to go (which isnt hard considering this establishment is AWFUL). Constant cancellations, no appointment availability, and way too expensive. When I requested a cancelation form via email, they sent me a form with ANOTHER CUSTOMERS PERSONAL INFORMATION already on the form!!! This is absolutely unacceptable. if you want your information kept private, dont count on this place to do so. Never returning back to another ME.
If you want the best experience ask for Erin. She is the best!!! I’ve never felt more relaxed and comfortable with anyone else. She truly has healing hands and she is highly knowledgeable in all types of massages. You will definitely feel amazing afterwards!
I spoke with staff several months ago concerning the unavailability to make appointments although being charged fees monthly. I was told that fees would be waived and given an appointment for three months from the date of contact. Fast forward three months I take off of work for the appointment to be told that it has been canceled and the fees indeed would not be waived. This has been by far my WORST membership experience with a company. I was looking for consistent self care I received consistent charges without accountability or follow through of services from the company.
Same experience as the others that have reviewed lately for the Burlington NC Massage Envy Location. I’ve been a member here for over three years. I never used to have any issues, but since Covid started there were so many months they were closed. Now, they don’t have any staff to serve the memberships that they have. I had to schedule two months out in September. They told me they would only charge me 10.00 per month while I could catch up with all my leftover massages……over 16. My appointment was canceled 45 minutes before it started due to car issues supposedly. Then my next one was scheduled for November 18th. I was sent an email yesterday that this one was canceled because the therapist decided not to come to work that day. I called to complain because this is absolutely ridiculous!! Was told they would give me back my 20.00 for October and November. I find out that they only gave me 10.00 back. Massage Envy policy is that if you cancel your membership you have 60 days to use your old appointments up. What a joke, you can’t even book out for 2 months if your an existing client. Whatever you do….Do not sign up for a membership at this location. Don’t buy someone a Christmas massage or gift card. It is going to be a waste of your money and time. Go read any of the reviews of this place in the last 3-4 months. The franchise owner should just pay us back all the money we have spent monthly, while getting nothing. I feel like I signed up for a timeshare that is always booked and have wasted over 1100 dollars on massages that I will never get to use. You have been warned, don’t do it!
I recently moved to Burlington and needed to find someone new for my massages. 2nd try I got DeAngelo and Ive been back 5+ times and he just keeps getting better and better. He is amazing and Im so happy I found someone that does this well.

I set up a membership plan to pay monthly so when a massage is needed I could get one wrong on a good day you might be able to get an appointment scheduled for 2-3 months down the road. This place is a joke dont waste your time or money on a membership that has no perks or benefits. Not to mention just expect to get some one different every time. If I could have given 0 stars I would have.
This location is terrible! The will continually your appointment due to personal emergencies. We made appointments in December for January. THREE DAYS before our appointments they canceled due to personal emergency on our appt day. How you know youre going to have an emergency in 3 days ia beyond me! So we reschedule for February, because you cant get in any sooner, and same day the employee has another personal emergency. They reschedule with another person and 2 HOURS LATER they cancel again for personal emergency!!!! Its inexcusable! The do not have enough staff to cover their appointments...its rediculous!! Save your money and get a massage elsewhere.
In trying to schedule a massage I had to wait 3 months, untilDecember 24th. A couple of days prior I was notified my therapist had broken her arm, so I had to re-scheduled it and did so as a couples massage for the next opening - March 30th. On 3/26th Im notified via text that one of the massage therapists is no longer working there and I need to reschedule. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. I have waited 6 months, I have taken 3/30 off of work and no one is available to do 2 massages on 3/30. To reschedule a couples massage would be a CONSIDERABLE wait. I requested my money back only to be told , No, I could use them for other services or go to any location. Whatever happened to trying to serve the customer? Sounds like this location is definitely NOT staffed properly and is NOT focused on customer satisfaction.
After a decade of being a client they cant keep therapists and constantly cancel appointments. I have $770 worth of credits now that I cant use and they refuse to return. The NC State Attorney Generals office is investigating and will hopefully shut them down.
Booked an appointment over the phone. Within a day got a call from their Concierge saying they had to change the appointment. I showed up when they asked me to and they couldnt find the appointment in their system. After 15 minutes of blah blah blah someone finally got the appointment on the screen and then I was provided excellent therapy. So good in fact that I immediately signed up for a membership and scheduled a second visit. Showed up for that visit and was told that the appointment wasnt in the system again. Showed them the appointment card they gave me with the time, date, and name of my therapist. Didnt matter. They refused to honor the appointment and made a stink when I told them to refund my membership. When I asked for an email confirmation of the cancellation they sent it and it was undeliverable because someone had mis-typed my email address. I dont think they are competent and I dont think they care.

I have been a member of Massage Envy for over 7 years. This includes moving 4 times and living in 3 different states. I am now cancelling my membership. Never have I encountered the impossible wait times and scheduling issues that exist at the Burlington, NC location. This is the only location within a reasonable distance from my home, but I cant get an appointment scheduled there. It is not possible to schedule using the online scheduling system, and even if you call the clinic, the wait for scheduling is well over a month out, and thats if you just take first available and not specific to your schedule or massage preferences. Additionally, when I tried to speak with the location about these issues, they offered no assistance or really even any concern - I guess they have enough business, they dont care about losing customers! I asked for their help with cancelling my membership, and they were no help there either. Most poorly operated Massage Envy I have encountered.
Absolutely the worst location to schedule a massage. They are booked months out, and have canceled 5 different appointments with zero communication or attempts to reschedule. Terrible company. I pay for a monthly membership and haven’t been able to use it since October, it is now mid February. What a waste of money. Better look elsewhere.
Had a first time appointment today and they told me to come in 15 mins earlier to sign first visit forms. Canceled on me due to a “personal emergency” as I was already driving over there 20 minutes before my appointment on Mother’s Day of all days. Very upsetting but hoping the manager can give a free massage for the inconvenience. Will keep you updated.
I booked a massage two weeks prior to my appt. I hired a babysitter so my wife could enjoy a nice massage. They waited until 9:47am to call and tell me that my 10:45 appt had been cancelled due to lack of staff. If I had cancelled an hour before my appt they would’ve charged me full price for the massage. Instead they offered me some free lavender spray at my next appt 😂😂. I wouldn’t recommend anybody wasting their time or money at this place. Very unprofessional and terrible communication skills. Save your time and money and do business somewhere else!!!
I dont like their policy of counting the exact minutes of your massage. I was late once by 5 minutes and that ate in to my massage time by 5 minutes and I never got it back. At times I was undercut time by a minute or two, which would not be a problem if they ever went over time, but they NEVER do. And it wouldnt be so bad if they did not make it such an issue in the first place. But since they make it such an issue I had a problem with that. I find this policy entirely irksome and it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Its not very relaxing, in fact its stressful because you walk in and you feel like you have to watch the clock. I would never recommend this place to anyone.The therapists however were excellent but I would not credit that to Massage Envy. They were all excellent in their own right.
Very friendly front desk staff. Massage therapist are very good and I appreciate their interest in my overall health. One downside, however, is there does seem to be a fairly frequent change over of therapists which forces clients to find a new one that can meet their expectations. This seems to be a problem at most of the franchise locations IMO.
During the pandemic they continued to draft monthly payments and then when they did open I could not get an appointment or they would cancel appointments. I agree with the other reviews. They should start refunds since they cannot provide services. I know I should have canceled the automated drafts.
Never will I return to Massage Envy for the following reason. Deception in contractual terms for membership. I told the young man that I was a veteran on a limited income and therefore required drafting from my account on a certain time within the month. This occurred the first 3 months and then they decided to change the date which of course was a date when no funds are available! Tried to explain to them but they weren’t any help. They continued drafting on the wrong day and stated they couldn’t change the date! It’s been a hard year dealing with them! Now that the year is up I have to fill out a request for cancellation in other words. If you don’t do this they would continue drafting even after the contract has ended! Burlington office isn’t customer friendly at all when it come to contract issues.
It’s Mother’s Day. My wife’s appointment was at 4:00 pm with a female massage therapist. She arrived at 3:30 pm. At 4:12 pm, Carl came out take my wife back for her massage. She let the front desk know that her appointment was with a female. Josh informed her that there were none available and that my card would be charged $27.50 for a cancellation fee. This is unacceptable! I received a called a while ago stating that my card would not be charged because clearly the confusion was not our fault. Horrible customer service!
I would never recommend this place. Get your first introductory massage and keep it moving. I was totally suckered into signing up for monthly subscription. I was told If you would like to share your sessions, the individual would have to pay and extra 10$, which I was completely cool with. Well I tried to schedule an session with my husband, since we had a good session in November, but it seems there is a clause that if he used one on my sessions, he would have to wait 6 months before he could return. This was NEVER mentioned during the sign up. This is very frustrating, to be told oh yea, you can hand them out when you want and to who you want but only every other 6 months? What am I paying for? We couldnt even get the weekend we wanted and had to be pushed back to the end of March, which April would be the month he could return for another session, but that was not even offered when scheduling.
The worst place Ive ever been. They had to rebook my massage multiple times because their staff cant get it together. When I finally got seen my hour massage included just under 30 minutes of actual hands on massaging. Finally at the end of it all they tried to push a membership on me. After declining they were suppose to run a friends card who had got me the message but ended up running my card which they claimed they needed on file to give me the massage. When I told them I wanted the refund in cash as I had other shopping plans and did not have the funds or time to wait for a refund via card they refused even though it was their mistake and threatened to call the cops if I didnt leave. Terrible and unprofessional people, I left a hundred times for stressed out than when I walked thru the doors.

Tay was a fabulous therapist. Getting an appointment is a pain. 3 of my last 5 appointments were overbooked. I called and made the appointments with the front desk! Ridiculous for as much as it costs. 5 stars for therapist, 1 star for appointment snafu. Average 3 stars.
They dont give a full hour massage. And if you get an add on. No time is added so it cuts your massage session even shorter. Dont get locked in to a membership when there are other spas that non members pay less money than massage envy members pay. I switched to A Spa Boutique in Graham and its worth the short drive. I pay less and my massage is a full hour. Its a relaxing place too. Not sterile. Large rooms. Less chain store feel.
I have been a customer for a year and a half now. I have been going to Tara for a few months. She is awesome with deep tissue. The front staff is friendly and is on top of things. They see me coming from outside and already check me in before I even open the doors. Highly recommended.
I thought I wouldnt be a fan of a chain type of massage place. But I had gone for their professional stretching and after telling the receptionist what I needed she arranged for a particular stretch and massage therapist. It is a perfect match and I am continuing to go every two weeks and am very pleased.

The reception staff seemed very overwhelmed and frustrated that I didnt just go look online (I didnt really know what was what I hadnt been here in years). She did share some details but just seemed like she had a lot going on. Least to say Im not going here.
Therapists are good. The two I loved are no longer there (Derrick § Kristen). But others are good. I havent been in awhile due to medical stuff. I am very unhappy w/this clinics policies. Bc of my medical needs I have several visits in the bank bc had to reschedule until better time. Staff always polite. My account is 2/m past due. I wasnt contacted to relay acct was past due. Mbrship was gifted to me and hes been paying so we both assumed all things were well. Updated info two months ago everything is current. ANY-hoo I was told I cant use any of the 6+services I have in the bank until my account is current again. I dont understand bc the six+ are paid. Even if I cancel mbrship (no longer under contract) I have to pay up 2 mths to use my 6+services. Why cant I use those now?? Im only asking for whats already been purchased. Im Very, very unhappy. Im in pain, miserable and apparently stuck w/a membership I cant use when I need it most. Unless of course I want to pay $95 (as a non-Member) for my visit. :(
Great place for a massage. My appointment was at 2:30 p.m. and we went back at that time we did not have to wait. It was a very relaxing time and I definitely will go back again.

Dont do anything with them. They will charge you even if they never notify you of any appointment that you may or may not have made. Never give them a credit card number because they will use it at their convenience. And you will be sadly disappointed.
I have been coming to Michelle for my facials regularly for a few months now. Michelle is the most attentive, caring and professional aesthetician I have ever gone to! I drive an hour each way to come see her! She always listens to any concerns or questions I have and responds knowledgeably and kindly. Her demeanor is calming and her facials relaxing and rejuvenating. My skin looks the best it ever has in my whole life thanks to her wonderful skills. Michelle is the number one in my opinion and I will continue to see her every month!Thanks Michelle, you are the best! (:

Nope. Nope. Nope. Booked a massage at this location. I walked up to locked doors because the receptionist didnt show up to open the store. My massage therapist also didnt show up. Ive tried since then to book an appointment and no one EVER answers the phone. This place is clearly mismanaged.

The massage was nothing that I needed and I left worse on than when I came in. I didnt speak up for myself, but I felt it would have been a lost cause. It was not the right person for me, and I probably wont return because of it.
Well I tell you, I am not at all satisfied with this company, first I call to make the reservation for my wife and it turns out that they ask me for a card number to take the reservation, when a gift car will be used, then ask for a gift car they gave me of $ 40.00 and they told me that it was only to be used in their company, when the person who sold me the program told me that I could buy and use this gift in any store and not exclusively. On them, well I feel robbed and scammed by this company that I imagine they dont care much what I say, but I hope this can help someone else to steal their money like meand I forgot to comment something, when I asked them to cancel everything and that they returned my money, they told me that they could only return 50% of the purchase, they are a company that deceives people
