I went to see a music festival of 4 bands. Its not a very big place, but it wasnt crowded. If there was a lot of people itd be a problem. Restroom is nice, bar is okay but unfortunately cash or card only - no contactless. The staff however was everything but friendly. Im giving 4 stars because the quality of the acoustics was impressively amazing! It was a great time for me, and Id go back for sure.
I was there last night for the first time. It’s a big region connected to multiple restaurants and bars in the building. The Sonia Live Music Venue though was quiet a small old place. Sound system quality was good. Next to the stage is a bar.Restroom was fine, not very clean.A point I can mention is there are some benches around the room in case during the live you get tired and need to sit.
Although this will never be TTs, they developed this room into its own place. Everything technical is an upgrade, but it will take some years to develop its own character. The only negative is that they need to figure out what most other venues have, and that is taking Credit Cards at the door.
This venue gets you up close and personal with the band. Due to the small size you could usually get a good view of the stage just about anywhere. We saw Against the Current in 2021. The weird thing is that it seems to be run out of a club(?). We were there for the band, so I cant speak for the amenities. Lights were okay, but I think your experience will greatly depend on how much you like the act on stage.
Love the place. Great staff but sad to see to people take advantage when staff asked numerous times for them to leave is honestly ridiculous. I think it’s sad that a person who younger has to spell out leave to other customers that refuse to listen to the staff works that tries hard to be polite, but I hope the people that work the Nat and Alex wolf concert still keep their job, do to the fact that they were trying to be polite and people just could take no for answer. Wish they try to be firmer with them and the customer who are just trying to be above the rules. The staff deserve a raise and should since some customers don’t want to listen to simple rules. Honestly I don’t understand why I had to paid $50 more for a meet and greet (with tee shirt). If I could have gone for free by fighting with the staff and not taking no for answer or skipping the line to see them and delay other people in the long line from seeing them.
Saw Schwayze on 11/13. The venue is interesting to say the least. Kinda feels like it is a converted church of some sort? There were these wooden benches that go all around the interior of the venue. It’s a really intimate venue so you’re able to get up close to see whoever is performing without much difficulty.I’m not from the area, so maybe this was just my fault but I did not know proof of vaccination was required to enter (photo is fine). My friend did not have a picture of their card and had to go back to our hotel to snap a picture of it before being able to enter.
Great show from Days and Daze place was a little small but great vibe and friendly staff
Was excited to see what the new space that was the old TT’s had been turned into and kinda disappointed. The venue was insanely hot, either the AC was broken or barely worked, and there was no ventilation or fans that seemed to move the air around or prevent it from becoming increasingly unbearably uncomfortable. Not sure if they were understaffed or the set up was inefficient bar-wise for the space, but I’ve never seen a line that stretched so long to get drinks. Not necessarily a fault to the staff from what I saw, they all seemed helpful and friendly as they could be. The point of sales system seemed to be holding things up a bit, from what I saw but who knows. The stage and floor space was great, sound was good. It seems like they have the basics you’d need to make a good venue great, but I was pretty disappointed overall. Not saying don’t come here or it’s the worst, or if bands I love play here that I won’t be back- but I won’t be thrilled about it if it’s anything like it was the other night. Also, they had run out of earplugs, which seems like something you’d want to stock up on as a new large venue. Not sure if it was just the night or if they’re still working out the kinks, but based on my first time checking out this venue, overall I wasn’t a big fan tbh.Sorry y’all! Hope it improves and you prove me wrong if I’m back for another show so I can give ya better ratings/ review, for whatever they’re worth.
Im writing this because of a lot of the other reviews posted. Maybe it depends on the day but our first time going was Thursday night and the staff was great, beer was fairly priced and the venue seemed clean as well. From the guy checking IDs at the door, to the guy handling passes, to the bar tender, all were very pleasant. The guy checking IDs also said theres a strict no-vape policy because their sprinkler system is sensitive and has been set off before. Based on our experience I would recommend this place hands down.
Staff were super amenable to helping my husband with mobility issues find and reach a comfortable spot to sit. They have a raised seating area in the back of the room that allows for excellent line of sight to the stage, yet I was also able to make it up to the front to headbang my heart out. Because there are multiple venues in the same building its slightly confusing, but again, staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.
It was a small show and the service was great. I wasnt thrilled to have to buy a bottle of water rather than free tap water. The venue is wider than it is long and has a raised section with seating for those who are short or needing a break. The sound was great. A vast improvement from what it used to be when it was TT the Bears. The layout is much more spacious than TTs as well.I cant wait for my next show at Sonia!
Tt the bear is gone, but not forgotten in this cozy barI didnt have the food, but the space is well set, with some seating, lots of dancing!
Great venue, without question. The only complaint is parking.
Small venue with great sound. Security check at entrance, which is great.
Changed concert date, would not offer refunds.
Fairly clean and safe feeling venue, small capacity. Sound and lighting engineers clearly had no idea what they were doing. Vibes were just OK. Nothing special. Sound quality is bad, no dedicated subs. Also if your promoter cant fill a 200 cap room for a major dj, fire the promoter!!!
Went to two different concerts here recently. During the first one, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the show and everyone had to evacuate. We were allowed back in after a short time and the the concert resumed. The same thing happened again at the second concert and everyone had to evacuate and stand outside in the cold for a long time before we were told the rest of the show was cancelled. Turns out someone kicked a sprinkler at one of the Middle east venues causing it to flood that also set off alarms here. A random fight also broke out at the second show before the alarms. Besides all that, the venue is alright. Its on the smaller side and has a good view of the stage from almost everywhere. I do prefer the other Middle East venues over it though.
Bad vibes, even worse acoustics. Fights braking out and people have loud conversations mid show, nothing done by staff. Saw an amazing artist but the dead crowd and sound quality was just not it.
Worst experience every!!!!!The Bollywood night was supposed to start at 10. We were in a line since 10:15 but finally got in after 11:15. They took forever to check id and let people in.As soon as we entered they started treating us like slaves. NO AC at the venue. Finally, they turned the AC on after 1 AM. When people started feeling suffocating.I stepped out to answer important phone call. They didn’t let me in. And said anyway only 15 mins left so you can go home. And I had to wait over half an hour for my friends to come out. So I was roaming on the streets like homeless.Never choose this place guys!!!
The venue was verry nice, and staff accommodated our needs for 2 artist parking spots close to the venue in an area that can be difficult to find free parking or parking that didnt cost an arm an a leg or was not a mile away from the venue. The sound and lighting was great, so a big thanks to their sound tech for keeping things sounding good all night. The staff told us we had to show Ids regardless of being an artist or member of the team running the show however unlike some other venues they were verry respectful and friendly about it, so we had no problem with them doing their job. I also appreciate the fact they have a door person as Manny times am left running The doors, and it makes it difficult to socialize and catch any of the artist sets and almost impossible to do any other tasks that may arise throughout the night. The turnout was close to 300+, and the event featuring Riff Raff and Ouija Macc was very successful and went off without a hitch.
Had alot of fun at an event. Everyone was really nice. Parking was hard to find. Security kicked everyone out the second the event ended.
Been here a few times for concerts. Its a really nice space, standing room only (at least for the concerts that Ive been to), but the sound and atmosphere is really nice. The artists they bring in are usually really interesting as well. Definitely check out who is playing, and if it looks good to you, I highly recommend you go and check them out. Bring cash for coat check!
Had a great time! The people were great, the music was great, and the free iced water at the bar was great because it was pretty hot (normal for concerts though so not on them) The bathrooms were neat and clean compared to other venues Ive been to. 10/10 will come again.
Great venue for a show! Was my first time here. Sound was great and plenty of space.
Sound is horrible and venue feels like a highschool dance gymnasium. Missing the intimacy and family vibe of TTs. atleast they had that. Seems like downstairs middle east and sonia are in competition as to who can make it sound like music is being played through a giant metal echo chamber.
This venue is a disgrace. No band should ever pick this place. They will end up performing on the streets when they get kicked out, which is what happened tonight. The venue did not set up in time causing the band to get delayed. Then a faulty fire alarm went off causing everyone to have to vacate the place. The band performed on the street for their final song which was amazing. But the venue basically did not do anything.
Fun small venue, arrive early if you need a Seat, there are three pews I affectionately call the VIP section.
The sound system is faulty here. Its just pierce your ear facing the right speakers. Multiple people closed the ear facing the speaker. The experience wasnt worth the charges.
Space is awesome, but unfortunately they dont have a liquor license yet. Cant wait until they can get one and this will definitely be one of my favorite venues in the city
They scammed me out of $180 and won’t reimburse. Paid extra for a meet & greet. Showed up on time and was told the time changed although I was never notified.
They dont enforce a mask mandate. As in more than half of the people entering werent wearing a mask and the staff at the door were completely cool with it.
Unfortunately some people whowork here are quite grumpy.Enough to turn people away on avery slow Sunday night. If I werethe owner I would check in with my employees.
I had the most horrible experience with this venue tonight. I didnt even see the show. The staff was so rude and disorganized. The worst place I have ever been. Will never go there again.
Concert venue / dance hall. Part of the Middle East. Formerly TT The Bear.
Vastly improved from the TT days
Cool venue, good drinks, clean bathrooms, free water
Amazing venue!! Good food and drinks, and lively atmosphere. Would come back again.
Support of russian artists during the russian agression and full scale war in Ukraine
Bouncers seem to be hostile and improperly trained. Easy fix for any respectable owner.
Had to wait in line for literally 25 minutes to get a beer. Maybe you should have more than 1 bartender working a sold out show! Felt bad for the guy
Great Venue. Was at a wedding party here! Service, food, drinks were all awesome! Thanks :-)
Four stars for not giving out a drinking ticket with a temp license. Otherwise great venue
Liverpool vs Real Madrid.. come over, there is a lot of room here at 201 Harvard St, Brookline, MA 02446
They treat artists with respect and really make you feel welcomed.
The employees find items that are illegal in the venue to support there habits of e-cigs and marijuana for there own benefit
Went here for a rap battle. Loved the space and the event.
LUCY concert
Friendly staff, awesome sound setup
Bar with nothing to sell...no place to sit
A Cambridge hidden gem for live music
Beware.
Terrible sound.
Great place.
Idontknowjeffery rocked this place
