I called after we left and was told by somebody on staff that I would be receiving a call from the manager by the end of the day (on August 16th) and still haven’t received it so that inspired this review. The massage itself was fine but we booked a couples massage for my birthday for my partner and I to enjoy together and that’s not what we got. As they began to take us to separate rooms I let the masseuse know that we were supposed to do a couples massage and he let me know they didn’t have the room to accommodate it but he would let the front desk know. I even asked if they had a later time because that was the service we wanted and he left for a few minutes and I’m not sure if he checked but he said it was not possible and my boyfriends massage had already started. I spent the majority of my massage anxious and annoyed because I knew we were about to pay a lot of money for something that was not what we wanted. When we got to the front desk they acted like they weren’t even aware of the issue. Nobody seemed to care or take accountability for the fact that we did not get what we paid for. I don’t think it’s a great way for a business to run and it’s certainly not a good way to get return customers. It would be nice if the manager cared enough to call back but he seems to be too busy to do so. Masseuses are great customer service is clearly trash. I hate leaving reviews like this but follow up is essential because now it’s a week later and I’m even more annoyed about it since I was told explicitly that I’d have somebody call me that day and it never happened. I wouldn’t go back or recommend this place to anybody in town.
I was so excited to experience this spa for the day with my good friend. We both were disappointed. The massage was not worth the money. 80 min massage and only from our knee down on our legs were touched. The manicure was good but very quick. There is no sauna ,hot tub or steam room. A massage and a manicure cost more than $330 plus tip. While in the quiet room a roach crawled across my foot and an employee asked what we were doing and walked away when we said it was a roach. Totally bummed def need to update and add amenities. I would not recommend.
I’m so incredibly disappointed in my experience. I had been going to this location for years and I’ve spent a lot of money on services and products at this spa. In January I had a facial and massage on my 30th birthday - the spa told me that they had charged me twice but I thought it had been worked out - when I went back in April they said that my facial was taken care of and that they had double charged me. Again, I had noticed the extra charge but thought it had been taken care of. I had already paid a deposit for my next service and what they had really done was use the deposit to pay for my facial. When I went for my massage they said afterward that they had no recollection of that happening. They charged my card without my consent and I had given cash for the therapist so he wasn’t left without a tip and they charged my card with an extra 20% tip. If they made a mistake they should be held responsible, not turn it around on the customer. Even without the extra payment I should still have a credit on my account. The therapists and aestheticians are wonderful but the front staff have no idea what they’re doing. If you go at least call and make the appointment rather than doing so online. Rather than feeling like a valued and loyal customer they treated me like I was trying to get away with something - I had even one time left my card at home and called as soon as I got it to pay for my services. I will be finding a spa that treats their customers with respect.
A few hours before the massage I got a call from the front desk asking me if I wanted to extend my service as they were running a promo that day for 50% off. I then asked on the phone how much it would be if I did it and the lady did some math over the phone then informed me it would be “basically the same price as the massage I was currently getting” (50 mins vs 80 mins). I then agreed to extending my service. When I checked out, I had a gift card for a 50 min (which I asked if I could put towards the total previously, thinking there would be a few dollar difference and gratuity only) and she asked if I wanted to run the card on file with the remaining amount and was hesitant to tell me the remainder total but then once I pushed she said “it’s just $101.50”. She said it quietly and quickly and I thought she said it’s just “$1.50”. After I left and got my receipt and realized how much I had been charged. I went back and asked if there had been a mistake and the front desk lady was pretty rude and dismissive about it. I feel like they may work on commission or something because it all felt very planned out. I love Woodhouse and always come when family is in town, and every year on my birthday and it’s super disappointing this was my experience this time. I don’t know if I will be coming back because that really rubbed me the wrong way.Edit: Over a month ago I was told the owner would call me. A couple weeks later I was told she was out sick and would call me the next day. I still have not heard.
This is by far the best spa I have EVER been to (and I’ve been to a few) for massage. The staff there treats you like royalty and the downtown location is absolutely stunning. Talk about service with a smile?! I’ve never had the level of customer service ANYWHERE that I get here. They truly get to know you personally, go above and beyond to make your experience the best it can be (or better if you offer feedback - they ACT!) and also make my guests feel as special as me, or even more. If you are looking for upscale spa services, look no further. You’ve found your new spa home!!!!
My wife and I came to Woodhouse during our getaway before we have our second kid. We were very impressed. Jaclyn (massage therapist) is incredible. Personable, skilled, respectful. The environment is very relaxing.

Have used Woodhouse for gift certificates multiple times (have probably spent $3k-$4k over the past few years) and won’t be utilizing again. My mom, fiancé and future mother in law just gave me the “talking to” about their experiences. The massages were horrible from all three and my poor future mother in law (who’s an esthetician by trade) had to physically train the masseuse. They loved the thought of my gifts, but the experience at the spa was horrible. Being that I’ve used them multiple times, they finally thought it was a good idea to let me know. Oh….and setting an appointment for two is nearly impossible if it’s within 2 months. My mom is now looking to just spend her last gift cards on the goods in the lobby being that she’s not really interested in another below average massage (worst she’s ever had in her words).
2 weeks post visit; EDIT:Woodhouse reached out to me after my visit to discuss my previous experience and address my concerns. They were sympathetic and very professional. I decided to give this place a second chance and I was not disappointed. Rachel was soo sweet and attentive! My massage was perfect and I am excited to book again. I appreciate how well their customer service was. They truly care about regaining a customers business.My girlfriend surprised me with our first couples massage at this spa as a birthday gift. I was soo excited to experience this spa as my friends have spoken highly about this location… however I am walking out of this place extremely disappointed. I really enjoyed the robe/slippers, quiet place, drink bar and snacks! The beginning did feel like a luxurious experience but my actual massage was not. I am very confused at the fact that my girlfriend and I had two completely different experiences.. and my massage was more expensive. I had the full body deep tissue and my girlfriend got the body balance… I highly believe my massage was not a deep tissue. My girlfriend’s therapist was so sweet, and focused closely about her areas on concern. She made sure she was comfortable throughout the entire massage appointment, gave her a head massage, massaged her glutes, placed heated hot towels on her back, and even applied a heated eye mask over her eyes when they made us turn over… I got NONE of that during my massage… when I heard everything she got I was very disappointed… I asked the front staff what the difference was between both massages and told me the only difference was the amount of of pressure then was told an email for a review would be emailed to us… I felt like no one cared about my experience in that moment. On another note, I believe everyone should tip when a service is being provided given the fact that good customer service was provided … when being rung up, the front desk associate told us a 20% gratuity HAD to be applied.. but your website states “Gratuities are not included in the value of the services and are at the DISCRETION OF THE GUEST”. Tipping 20% was not an issue but I hate the fact that we were not given an option or a choice … this is not your “average” spa… and I am very upset that we were charged $348.00 and did receive what we paid for. I hope my feedback is taken into consideration and something can be done about this. The two invoice numbers on the receipt were 9831 and 9830.
Second time here, it’s my birthday I called and scheduled a week before. I had a request and she wasn’t available so they highly recommended Alexis. Great I booked with Alexis. A gentleman came to get me and I said “I apologize I’m scheduled with Alexis” . He goes and gets the front desk person who explains “they had a VIP call to schedule with Alexis and they wanted the time I was already scheduled for so they just switched my appointment preferences”. Again it’s my birthday I was suppose to be in at 11 am for 80 minutes and then meet friends for lunch then I have nail appointment!!! But now they can squeeze me in at 11:45ish with Alexis. Never again! I won’t be back and I would leave if I didn’t have giftcards
My group of friends planned a spa day here while visiting. Booking was not the smoothest, but once we got there, our experience as delightful. The lounges were so relaxing and our services were wonderful.
First time having a spa experience. It was fabulous. Michael was my message therapist and he was so nice and professional. The staff were lovely, and I wished I could take the comfy robe home with me! Already booked my next appointment and plan to buy my mom a giftcard from here!
Here to edit… I was offered a week later to come back, I requested mt pleasant location.. so thankful I did… Chelsea was amazing.. front desk staff was also way more mature.. they redeemed my business and it already booked for my next appointment in mt pleasantI booked online weeks ago with comments specifying I wanted a female masseuse… They had me booked with a male masseuse, and at no point did any of their workers go into the details of my appointment to confirm that it was booked correctly And no point during the confirmation text that they sent out did anything specify who I was going to be with. So I get there and they tell me I’m booked with a male masseuse and I said I didn’t want that and they said even if you don’t get it done we’re gonna have to charge you because you’re within 24 hours…. So I left since I’m being charged for the massage whether I get it one way or another and the fact that I made it clear I’m uncomfortable with a male masseuse and they don’t care and tried to do nothing to rectify the situation or work with the client.. just a “too bad so sad for you” ….
I requested female masseuses, when I booked a week in advance. Was ASSURED we would be all set. Arrived, changed, and was greeted by Michael. When I pointed out that I HAD requested a female, I was told I could wait an hour and one would be available. That would mean my guest would have to sit and wait an hour AFTER her massage . Sorry, not satisfied!Update...I was given a gift certificate for a future service. I appreciate the service recovery and will try again, at another location.

This place was amazing!! The atmosphere was so comforting and relaxing. The massage I received was one of the best I have ever had. Joseph (I believe) was a five-star rating by himself. He has the hands of a God. All the staff seemed to be helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.

Very expensive and unimpressive facial. You’re paying for the “spa experience” if you go here but be aware that men and women are allowed in the same quiet spaces. The deep cleanse facial was the least amount of treatment I’ve ever received in a facial and it was not the full 50 minutes. The technician was very nice but really did no exfoliating or extractions. Everyone was professional and polite. I’m just not into paying to feel fancy when it comes to my skincare.
This was an amazing experience. The atmosphere was relaxing. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Me and my boyfriend did a couples body balance massage for 50 minutes. It was wonderful for our first time. The message therapist Marie and Miguel did a great job. Wish we would have done a longer session.
I visited the Woodhouse Spa downtown Charleston location on 30 July 2022 for a relaxing massage. I was greeted by the front desk and given a very brief tour of the sitting area and locker room. She told me to use an open locker to store my belongings and told me where I could find the robes/shoes. I walked into the changing room and when I walked out there was an associate there beside the restroom messing with the hanging robes. I proceeded to a locker and placed my items in it locked my locker and left. After my massage I returned to my locker I grabbed my belongings and changed then proceeding to the front desk to check out. When I got to the front desk I asked if it was best to tip in cash as I opened my purse I noticed immediately all of my cash was GONE! I immediately asked the receptionist if they had cameras and if employees have access to the lockers. She said yes there are cameras and that she would grab the manager to speak with me. The receptionist walked away and came back without the manager and said they’d look into it for me and I asked where the manager was and why she didn’t come out to speak with me. The receptionist walked away again and this time the manager came with her. The manager gave me a long speech while sounding very unconcerned about how this has never happened and she’ll look into it but there are no cameras. I then told her there was an employee in there at the time I was putting my stuff in the locker and she should look into the footage from outside the locker room. She handed me her card and said she’d be in touch.The manager(Sydney) needs training on how to handle problems/issues that take place. She never apologized for the mishap that took place at the business. She never asked which locker it was to ensure it wasn’t faulty. She didn’t even ask me to describe the employee that was in the room with me! I had $700 stolen from me because I used the lockers your company provided and that is completely unacceptable. The manager said they would call me by 3 pm with an update and I heard nothing so I called the spa and they informed me she left for the day!
What a day! Woodhouse Spa is such a wonderful experience from the time you walk in the door. The staff are kind helpful and the best in the industry. Quality experience all around. Highly recommend. Have visited Woodhouse Spa at Westedge multiple time and each time was sublime. This place values hospitality and intentionality and it shows in each service they provide. My wife and I don’t get to treat ourselves often, but when we do there’s no other option besides Woodhouse. The value provided is worth the price. Had a facial with Sarah today and she was amazing. She made me feel so comfortable and my skin looks so bright and glowing. I’ll be seeing her again soon. And the spa was so nice and relaxing. My husband and I went together and he got a massage and we both left so relaxed.
Woodhouse at Westedge in Charleston is the BEST! Everyone is beyond accommodating. Jess, Mackenzie, Hanna, and Jenna at the front desk made sure I was happy and comfortable my entire visit. Niki’s pedicure exceeded expectations (per usual) and Tayla’s massage was perfection. I cannot say enough positive things about this spa and the staff. They are all very gifted and I truly left feeling like a new person! I love Woodhouse Spa at Westedge. Phenomenal atmosphere.
Carla, was very rude. I was explaining to her what I needed and she was not listening and she hung the phone up on me. I would never do service here again. I highly recommend not to book an appointment with anyone. She needs more training in customer service.
We’re here on our honeymoon and thought the Woodhouse day spa would give us everything we wanted for our special trip.We had a couples massage here.The ambience of the lobby was so nice. We even had mimosas, wine, and fruit infused water that hit the spot.We had nice comfy robes and a private room to enjoy ourselves in the comfy lounge chairs.We were greeted by our therapists Miguel and Tayla.The room we were massaged in was beautiful and tranquil.My massage was incredible and Miguel knew exactly where to go with his flow.It was perfect and relaxing. I felt like I was on another planet with the relaxation.He knows the body very well and didn’t dig into me like other massages I’ve had in the past. My husband got a wonderful massage and was enjoying the entire experience.My scalp massage was awesome and the neck massage was wonderful too.We wish they were closer to us so we couldCome back monthly! It truly was a special treat for the both of us and it was just what we both needed after much traveling and wedding stress.Miguel and Tayla melted it all the stress away for the both of us.Thank you so much!
My friend and I booked a massage, facial and pedicure package. The spa and staff were nice. Our massage and facials were terrific. Unfortunately, the plumbing failed during our visit and our pedicure was changed to a dry pedicure which was basically a polish change, filed nails, cuticle trim and some lotion. No foot scrub or massage. The staff was very apologetic and escorted us to an adjoining apartment building to use the restroom. The plumbing issue was not their fault, but one of the staff told us they would adjust the charges for our packages. The charges were not adjusted and they would not except a cash payment for services. Even when we told them we prefer to pay cash, they wouldn’t except it. So tacky. As a salon owner myself, I would have made sure to adjust the price for at least the pedicure or at the very least offer a discount on a future appointment. Poor management. Poor customer service. Won’t return.Update: a very friendly and accommodating team member from Woodhouse reached out ASAP to address my concerns of our experience. I will have to say that I am impressed by this. The matter was handled with care and quality.
Excellent experience. Went for the first time for a massage and Jaclyn was great. The locker room is pristine and the relaxation room is awesome. I recommend you go early to enjoy the relaxation room before your services. Highly recommended and will be going back for sure.
Had a wonderful experience. My boyfriend booked us a duet massage for my birthday. Can not say enough great things about how relaxing and welcoming the entire staff was! I sadly do not remember the names of the gentlemen who took care of us, but take care us us they most definitely did! Walked out of there feeling like a brand new human!
I had two completely different experiences today at the spa thus the 3 rating. My first treatment was the firm & lift facial - excellent therapist and service. My face glowed afterwards and she suggested a dermaflash which was well worth the $50 add on fee. My second service was the holistic body detox and it was horrible. Therapist was sniffling the whole time, left the detox mud on for less than five minutes and left my entire stomach COVERED in mud/ white substance so I had to immediately shower in the ladies locker room. She turned on the Vichy showers at the beginning and left them running THE WHOLE TIME spraying the wall, and used one nozzle to do my front, not the Vichy experience I had hoped for and certainly not worth $200 - Do not recommend.Spa overall is nice - clean, mimosas and cold water plus hot drinks in relaxation zone. No enforcement of the quiet aspect yet not sure if any spas do these days. Would go again- yet will avoid my sniffling therapist and overpriced services.
Amazing experience and friendly service - it was unlike any spa trip weve had before! They did a wonderful job fostering a relaxing environment even before our services began, while we were in the relaxation lounge. My husband and I got massages and I also got a facial and pedicure. While my husband was waiting for me to finish the other services, he was allowed to stay in the relaxation lounge and truly enjoyed his experience. He loved his massage and my favorite was the facial (my first facial).Only negative comment is they offered some upgrades as if they were part of our package, and didnt indicate they would be an upcharge. We havent been to many spas so this may be the norm, but be aware (and maybe ask if services are an upcharge when they are offered, if you are trying to stay within a certain budget).

Best massage by Austin that I’ve ever had in my life!!!!!!!! Reading these other reviews.... ignore the negative comments about them not accepting cash or not knowing where to go. They literally send you email instructions before your appointment outlining they don’t accept cash due to Covid and they also told me that professionally over the phone when I booked my appointment. The receptionist also gave me detailed verbal instructions regarding parking and it was outlined in the email as well. Customer service was impeccable. Austin was so professional and it was truly the massage of a lifetime!
I booked a last minute treatment for me and my husband for our anniversary. They accommodated us with a gentleman’s facial and a Swedish body treatment. The Swedish treatment was a combo of a massage and facial so if you are looking to experience both, you should book this one.It really is such a relaxing escape and we didn’t want to leave. I love that you can chill in the relaxation room for as long as you want as well.

I had the best deep tissue massage with Austin. I love everything about the Woodhouse Spa- it is always a 5 star experience. I usually go to the Mt. Pleasant location but wanted to check out the new downtown location. I was very pleased and will be back! I ask for a Woodhouse Gift Certificate for all holidays and birthdays!
Katie is a miracle worker. I received a Soothe and Srengthen Facial and feel like a new woman. The space is gorgeous. I felt pampered with lots of privacy (and a complementary mimosa) in the relaxation room before my appointment. Katie was professional, informative, and helped figure out the perfect regime to restore this tired mamas glow! Ill be back!*Bonus: There is 2 hour free parking in the garage.
It was not my favorite spa visit. I wanted to treat my mother to a fully pampering spa day that included a massage, facial and pedicure with drinks and snacks. Unfortunately, thats not the experience we received. After booking 2 packages (one for each of us) about 2 weeks in advance, I received a call informing me that one pedicurist would not be able to work, only a couple days before my spa day. Thankfully I was able to call around and find an alternative spa to perform our pedicures. I was also discounted for the inconvenience. When my mother and I arrived on our spa day we were approximately 15 minutes early, as per spa etiquette, however we had trouble locating parking and the entrance to the spa! Youd expect that the reception would know that since there isnt convenient parking or a traditional front door to the spa shed have informed us on how to get to their establishment to give them our money. So after my mom and I circled the area a couple of times, we found parking and walked (her being disabled and me being 8 months pregnant) in the 90 degree heat about 5 minutes until we found the entrance. By that time we were late for our services! We had to change into robes since we had multiple services and had no time to relax because we were so late. We received our massages first, that we both enjoyed, then our facials. My mother had a chatter box of an esthetician but after she expressed that she wanted quiet, her esthetician obliged and gave an alright facial. She complained that she didnt get extractions but she did love the mask that was used. Were also used to 5 star spa service, so she was surprised to not receive a hand, foot and scalp massage during her facial. I just assumed that they are not up to that particular standard and told her as much. My esthetician was sweet and seemed knowledgeable, and I enjoyed my facial, except for the absence of the foot and scalp massage. However, I did become uncomfortable during her dermaflash performance. Ive had the treatment done many times, but its never been as fast and rough as the one she performed. Im not sure if their training was sufficient enough for her to perform it, or maybe she was in a hurry. But waking up this morning, I know for a fact she doesnt know how to perform dermaflash SAFELY being that I have long and deep scratches on my nose, whereas Ive never had cuts from other estheticians who performed the same treatment with astonishing results. With that, and the lack of food and drinks Im used to indulging myself with, I can only give 3 stars. One star for our awesome massage therapist, another for the discount applied for the lack of pedicurist and the third for the clean and welcoming environment.
Only popped in for a pajama set. Staff terrific but the parking is really difficult, trying to navigate around Publix customers. Mt. Pleasant location easier to use.

Got a 25-minute neck and back massage by Jaqueline and it was AMAZING! I’ve been struggling with neck and lower backache since i’m a mom of an 8-month-old and she addressed that and really made every single minute count!!! She’s my go to therapist for neck, shoulders, and back massage!!! I highly recommended her!!
This spa experience is phenomenal. They deserve 5 stars for the number of staff, quality of amenities. However, they had poor communicaiton and being my first time I did not have time to enjoy the amenities. I wasnt informed about the robes, lounges, complimentary mimosas, etc. Minus 1 star. In addition, I splurged on a hydrafacial (something Ive wanted for a long time) and it wasnt what I expected. (When comparing side by side before and after photos I couldnt tell the difference until I remembered I didnt have earrings on afterwards). In hindsight, I realize this is pretty unusual for that treatment. Not sure how that happened, but the reason I did subtracted another star. I would return to the location but not for the same service in the future as I still think this could be a 5 star experience.
