Woodshed Bar

Despite the negative comments, most of them were either kicked out for acting a fool and/or just overly pretentious and angry people. The woodshed has a myriad of diverse individuals that it welcomes. They are promoting a safe, mature place for people in the LGBTQIA+ community to socialize. Our group loves the vibe and staff here. We have had no issues. All you have to do is be polite and mature.

Their staff is really nice especially their bartender Raymond. He’s one of the nicest people you can ever meet.

They dont serve food, but they serve a good time. Great drinks and fun people. Karaoke on Sunday and Tuesday.

Meeehhhhh…….can tell it’s a “local spot”. Paid zero attention to us “out of towners”. Kinda felt like we were bothering them just by showing up.

Dont let the exterior fool you. This place is bigger and yet more social than it appears from the outside. The space inside and around the several buildings is covered and heated to create a usable outdoor space that was comfortable even on a 38 degree night. Music was decent but not so loud that a conversation was even difficult in the outside areas. Drinks are strong and decently priced. Unfortunately very limited parking and the parking lot is broken up with large potholes. The exterior of the building needs a great deal of work and can give a negative first impression but it is well worth a visit.

It’s a shame you can’t leave zero stars for a place like this. Service is rude they only cater to the 55+ crowd.

This bar is amazing. Great people with a welcoming attitude. They made my last night in North Carolina a great one. Stiff drinks and good people. What more could you want? Pick a song on the jukebox and boogie. Love this place.

Love this Bar ! Literally my Favorite bar n Charlotte. Mad chill. Nice lil themes. Solid drinks and good prices. Good convo and crowd turn out. I love karaoke nights ! Sunday and Tuesdays. Plus the 3 bars ! Love it !

I really hate to give this place one star,I used to frequent this bar a lot. Now I can’t even go to the bar because they changed the age limit to 25+, and this is the only bar that’s inclusive to people of my body type such an absolute shame

One of the most welcoming, friendly and fun bars I have ever been to in Charlotte as they treat you like family whether you are a first timer or a long timer. Note that we are an interracial straight couple and at no time did we feel like we werent welcome, as many of the regulars engaged with us and encouraged us during karaoke and we felt like we were among old friends even though we hadnt been there in over a year.It is so refreshing to go to a bar where you can kick back and have fun without being judged or worrying about someone hitting on your significant other if you leave them alone for one second.Great drink specials, awesome staff, overall amazing vibe and the best karaoke in Charlotte as you are guaranteed to have a blast whether you are gay, straight, single, coupled, as this place will welcome you with open arms and friendly smiles, so definitely check them out as it may just be the best kept secret in Charlotte!

I used to come to this bar very often and enjoyed myself, but the service really went downhill. I just go to the bar, order my drink, and go back to my friends but Ive still had several staff members be openly hostile. I know everyone likes to say I didnt deserve that but I have a hard time seeing how may I have a vodka tonic, warrants a nasty remark or a threat.Ive turned down every invitation to come here since last years Halloween party. Probably wont be back.

My partner and I visited The Woodshed Bar last night while traveling to Charlotte for the weekend. It was the first bar we hit and turns out to be the best too. All the patrons were very friendly, and Miller, the bartender, has to be the best in Charlotte. He was super approachable and truly made us feel like we were in our home bar. He was quick with a laugh and happy to provide lots of local color and information. Tons of interesting kitsch, decent little leather shop, quality pool tables, strong drinks, and plenty of places to explore while on property. So far, this IS the bar to visit when you wanna cut loose in Charlotte.

🌈 Ive been coming to this bar for years! I really like the laidback atmosphere and the variety of men here! Greg had did all he could to make it a down home atmosphere when he leased it. Since Timothy bought it, he has made some major improvements to the bar that were really needed. In recent years it seems to have become more diverse in age, race, and gender. Like any bar, they have rules. However, the amount of respect you give them, is the same amount youll receive from them! Hope to see you there!!!😁🌈

Been coming here for only a few months but I always feel welcome. Great drinks, good people, and the staff is always great. Everytime I come in, I immediately look for Miller behind the bar. He is always great to me and all my friends. He is my favorite bartender in Charlotte and is the reason I always go to the Woodshed when I come to town.

It’s a cool place. People seem very nice. Have to say the south will always be the south lol. Seems segregated but that’s not on the place just seems each hangs with their own. Other than that it seem cool. I would personally like to see more community in the “community”.

Had an absolute blast here! Everyone was chill and friendly, drinks were very affordable and mixed perfectly. Made a lot of new friends here and look forward to coming back. I really liked Tim at the door.

Good atmosphere. The music was good. The bartenders/staff are great.

The door guy was EXTREMELY rude and unwelcoming. He needs an attitude change. Having said that, I had a great time once inside. The Pup Invasion pup night was a great time. I enjoyed seeing all the pups out. I hope to come back soon!

First time stopping in Charlotte on my may to FL. Absolutely the best bar Ive been to in a long time.. Love the down to earth feeling and the people were absolutely very friendly. Definitely an experience worth having. Will go back if I stop in Charlotte again.

Great mixed crowd. The bar workers are really nice. The drinks are moderately priced. This is definitely a grown folks bar that has no time for shady queens.

My kinda laid back atmosphere to chill! You can choose to be alone or embrace the ambiance of this hidden leather bar. Its very inviting and intriguing with its elixir of misfits and men of substance all at the same time. A perfect place to SIP and PEOPLE WATCH, WITH NO APOLOGIES! An all-inclusive environment to soothe the tired and entertain the weary! Im inspired with my musings and my daily interactions from the experience of complete self discovery and reckless abandonment that exudes this spot. Check for yourself, you might get a membership!

Not a bad bar for a beer or mixed drink. But it is kinda low budget. Friendly, but very shady. I mean its a gay bar for average working type of guys. Nothing like it back in Seneca.

So the dj is entertaining himself. Even if you tip him he will only play what he wants to play. I like this place but they need to run it like a business and play music people want to hear. The th only cares about himself and he needs to care about his crowd. It is bad when there is a playlist on the back bar that is better

Hmmm... how many stars to give? If I judged by the way the staff and other customers treat me, would have to be a five. To review based on the appearance (and smell) of the place, no more than two...The people here are why we come to the Shed. They dont seem to mind that the inside still reeks of stale cigarettes from way back when smoking was allowed. But the restrooms? OMG, disgusting. Pray you never have to do a number two in this place.To call it a leather bar is rather odd when only about once night a month are leather folk out en masse. OK, there will be the occasional person decked out, but hey, not even San Francisco or New York have leather bars anymore.So, I landed on 4 stars because I enjoy myself here. Fortunately I have a large bladder capacity and am also thankful theres an expansive outdoor space for some fresh air. Its really close to the airport, and very welcoming of out of towners... But seriously... spend a few bucks and update those restrooms.
