My partner and I recently visited Scorpio and were impressed by the atmosphere—it’s definitely upscale and gave us vibes similar to Legends in Raleigh. The music was great, and the drag performances were okay. However, my main issue lies with the drinks. After paying a $20 cover for two, I expected a better experience at the bar.The first round—Tito’s and Sprite, and a Jack on the rocks—cost $25.26 with a tip. The next round, with just a Coke added to the Jack, was $29.16. Both drinks were mostly ice, with what seemed to be a very weak pour and served in surprisingly shocking small plastic cup, possibly the smallest I’ve ever had for a gay bar. I’m fairly certain it was just a single shot, if that. Also the bathrooms were possibly the cleanest I’ve ever seen in a gay bar. While I loved the atmosphere and what it’s offering, I think other local bars offer better value. For example, we stopped by Sidelines before coming here and ordered the same drinks plus a shot of Fireball for $23, not including the $5 tip. The drinks there were much better, stronger and in a standard size glass.I’m willing to give Scorpio another try in the future, but for now, I’ll be keeping an eye on whether any improvements are made. If I’m spending $75 just on drinks and a cover to get in the door, I expect a better pour, a more consistent price, and a more satisfying experience overall.
I’m relative new to North Carolina but when I got here last year I hear that Scorpio was the place to be. So when it reopened I was excited to go but disappointed awaited me. The aesthetics of the different levels was indeed cute, the drinks average but the atmosphere and the music gave gentrification. We were told that Saturdays are better so we came back the following night and it was the same or even worst.I feel like music is such a universal language for it to be stuck into one genre of house music especially with it being in
All these reviews complaining about drinks prices are old beaches who don’t go out!!! This is a rooftop gay club in the SOUTH AND KILLING IT!!!!!! thank you for creating a safe place that’s ALL LOVE!!!! I will be dancing my soul out there this weekend! $20 cover a little crazy because I’d rather spend my 20 on drinks but hopefully that was a grand opening cover and babes it was a GRAND MF OPENING!!!!
I made a comment on social media stating how I felt the club should be more diversified and was blocked shortly after. I mentioned inclusion being a current issue as the old club welcomed ALL. Even in the LGBTQIA community, black Americans are still EXCLUDED. SMH. I see this is no longer a spot for all. Allowing a better selection of music would also help.
Crappy experience for my birthday weekend out of town. $15 cover and mid music. My girlfriend and I had no choice but to go to the outdoor rooftop bar, because there was a concert happening on the dance floor with nowhere else to go. My taser was confiscated at the door (which is to be expected but I always bring it on nights out and rarely have issues). Luckily the woman at the door told me shed hold onto it for me. I asked two male bouncers how I could find her on my way out, and they shook their heads, shrugged their shoulders, and gave me the rudest looks. Thankfully I found her, but I was extremely irritated at these mens lack of compassion for a womans safety. It wouldve came in handy when I was racially targeted in the restroom as well. From what Ive read, this clubs not what it used to be.
Scorpio is literally scamming people. I ordered a house gin and tonic at the outside bar and it was $8. I ordered a house gin and tonic at the bar near the dance floor and it was $10. I ordered a house gin and tonic ar the far side bar and it was $12. I spoke to the manager (1am 8/4) and he obviously did not care. This is not only illegal but homophobic and immoral. The atmosphere is great, DJ was good and drag queens were fantastic, but I’m not going to support a gay bar that intentionally scams gay people. Absolutely not.
Such a great place. Great shows and great music. I do wish stage was a little higher. But overall 5 star.
My god 28.82 for two very week drinks. I do not expect a weak drink at a gay bar. I know getting the kinks worked out. And such a small drink for us advanced gays!Patrick from Charlotte!
I used to come Scorpios on freedom dr all the time, it was honestly the best club I’ve ever been too and I was a loyal supporter. Then I simply commented asking why many of my friends comments were being deleted and I was blocked from their social media. I’ve always been supportive and I was still trying to support despite everything going on and it’s a slap in the face to be blocked as I simply asked a question. Very unfortunate
Great experience! The new venue is amazing. Drink prices a bit high considering the size and pour. Looking forward to coming back! Congrats on reopening.
The new venue is gorgeous BUT $15 for a TINY (house) vodka and soda ALONG WITH $10 entry? Nah, other options around. If you dont drink alcohol, this is a great place. If you do drink, prepare for a very expensive night because you’ll need many of these weak/ tiny drinks to even get a buzz. Not a recipe for long term success. FYI-On the way out, the crowd coming in late all looked very thuggish
I’m extremely disappointed in the grand opening weekend. And to the owner who called the people who showed up to the show originally Scorpios “HATERS” is down right disgusting. And trying to silence the people who was ROOTING FOR THE RETURN of Scorpios is a slap in the face. I will not tolerate being belittled and pushed out of a place that allow me to be myself and feel comfortable in a world that make me feel like I’m nothing.
It really is a spectacular environment that reopened its doors for the LGBTQ+ community, I think the reopening brings with it some mistakes after a great organization but I think everything will improve even more than before...
This was not the Scorpios I remember before the switch in location. They should change the name all together. Lovely place, however my friends and I will not be back.
Scorpios used to be a safe haven for those of us who love hip hop and R&B, a breath of fresh air in a sea of EDM and house music that dominated the North Carolina LGBT club scene.Scorpios was a place where the beats and music resonated within our culture. It’s as if the owner decided that attracting a mainstream crowd was more important than holding onto the original spirit that made the club special in the first place. The transition from hip-hop and R&B to house music is a significant departure that was not communicated effectively to the communityThis shift is not just a personal feeling. Ive seen many others express their concerns. The owner’s decision to turn off comments on Instagram and remove critical feedback from Facebook speaks volumes. It creates an image of a space that is unwilling to listen to its community, while somehow tolerating comments with questionable, and even outright racist, undertones.
Venue is nice but the prices are insane. white claw over $10 and cover usually more than $15. will try again later this year to see if the prices settle down.
Where do I start?Scorpio’s Charlotte was somewhere I used to look forward to going to before I came out. Somewhere that gave a vibe like no where else in Charlotte. No focus on section culture, no standing around. Just dancing and vibes and everyone accepting everyone. The only day I would make it to is Hip Hop Saturday’s; because I work a 9-5 and this is the only day I could completely unwind and have a great time. When it was closed down I was disappointed but somewhat knew something great had to come out of it.When I saw the Grand Re-Opening post, I did nothing but post about it and get everyone I knew excited about it. Then weekend of, it quickly came to realization that this new venue, scorpio’s became something different. Not the same music, none of the same people and everything seems like the people who made scorpio’s a great time weren’t welcomed anymore. I saw the club say that Hip Hop Saturday’s will be moved to a different day… because of the competition in the area. I am a club promoter for most of the clubs in Charlotte and there is no competition where scorpio’s USED to compare. There is no other LBGTQIA+ club that plays hip hop near this gentrified area that the new club is located in.So what’s the real reason Scorpio’s?
Absolutely gentrified !!!! They are simply riding off the clout of the name and legacy of the old venue but no longer want the previous urban crowd. Owner is unprofessional & the same demographic of people that kept that place alive and in business are the same ones they are pushing out. No inclusive music. No longer a safe space for POC LGBTQ+ anymore. They will not get a singular penny from me again. Just blessed to have experienced the OG Scorpios.....you will be missed. RIPScorpios
I was so sad to see the reopening of Scorpios so gentrified. The old spot was the only real place POC had and now they claim to be playing towards “everyone” when those other groups already had their own thing. Most of the gay bars in the Carolina’s already market towards everyone but POC and now the one thing we did have, y’all switching it up. Like danggg we can’t have nothingggg. Anyway they should definitely change the name or something because this ain’t that no more and can’t even compare.
My biggest concern with Scorpio reopening where it did was that they’d go with highway robbery prices, which is exactly what happened. A white claw should never have a double digit price tag.
I’m very disappointed and saddened to see that scorpios is blocking ppl & simply just deleting/hiding comments on their public Instagram page, simply bc they may not agree with the public, mainly POC like me and others not liking the new atmosphere. It’s very disappointing to be blocked from the scorpios social media page when I’ve spent my money there many times…but besides that, I feel like any good business will listen or atleast take head to its communities wants….but blocking and shutting people out that were some of your biggest supporters btw is NOT the way to go about this.
Didnt stay for long (something came up), but despite us being there before the crowd arrived, me and my friend had a blast! The employees were very friendly and explained the ID pickup situation to us because it was our first time there. Great environment, great music, so much fun. Will definitely be coming back :)
I haven’t found a club scenery in Charlotte that matches since you left. The presence of the Scorpio vibes are missed in the city. Any chance of a new reopening date?
Awesome energy, really nice space, way over priced drinks and they ran out of limes.
I came here the other night with friends for his birthday and pulling into the place you would think it’s abandoned especially considering you have to drive through a whole other business parking lot to get to the actual “club” itself. The “parking lot” is just gravel and muddy holes. Personally I would have a paved parking lot especially since the people dress up for places like that. Besides the outside the inside was very upbeat and very entertaining! I loved the drag show! Everyone was very nice that worked there. I didn’t try any food or drinks but I would definitely come again.
Love the people the atmosphere-i can be myself !no body to judge me
Very expensive drinks.Parking is expensive $30
Came from out of town to experience Scorpios. I was let down big time! Went to the main bar got charged $10 a drink by a girl. Went to the other bar got charged $3 for the same drink. Went back to the same guy/bar got charged $8 for the exact same drink. Went back to the main bar and the guy charged me $3 a drink. He never changed the price. I have never been to a club and charged different prices for the exact same drink. I won’t be back. The cups are so small and I have no idea what the staff is doing here!!!
Dissatisfied with how the drinks were different prices at both bars. One bar was $10 and the other would sell to you for $3 for the same drink and they gave you small cups for it. I came from South Carolina Greenville. Safe to say i will not be coming back again. Not worth my time or the drive.
It took me 1 hour to find this bar but it is all worth it. I had so much fun and really enjoy the drinks and foods. I love the entertainer for real!!
Absolutely lovee The Scorpio!! Its 18+. The vibes are always immaculate. Every time i go there i come across the most amazing people. Very welcoming atmosphere. Great place to dance especially if you enjoy rap/hip-hop music. Plus theres a patio area. My only complaint is the DJ at the main dance floor goes a little too heavy on the bass but 5 stars nonetheless.
Very open, extremely crowded, multi cultural. Modern music, rap with a disco style beat. Hundreds of people ... Lots of security. Im concerned about the number of exits for the huge number of people , it was hard to move around without an emergency happening because it was so crowded.
Bartenders were great. Club was clean. Drinks were reasonably priced. Music was fire. My only complaint is the sound system was atrocious. I couldn’t understand what anyone was saying on the mic. It sounded like everyone had a mouth full of marbles, yelling across a house of all closed doors.
So it was me and my partner’s first time here we happen to go on drag night which was Friday and the vibes were matched! The only thing is we had a VIP table only 5 of us showed up and we still had to pay 20$ to get in :/we also had a purple bracelet,Blue ticket handstamp and bought a bottle of champagne.. kinda feel like we got swindled on that.i have no clue what everyone is saying about the music it was not real nor hip hop it was more like up beat rave music but I didn’t have too much of an issue with that🤷🏽♀️
So I will say this place is pretty live on Saturdays. The music is Always good, and it’s ALWAYS packed. I would have given it less stars, but they just recently changed the age to 21 & over…… no offense to the younger crowd, but unfortunately Charlotte’s Lesbian scene is nonexistent 😞 so this is all Charlotte has to offer, so I went in with an open mind. I feel if you’re a fun person you’re guaranteed to have a good time. My friends came in from out of town and I took them there, and we all had a blast. The only issues I notice are the floors are always sticky 🤮 and the drinks are overpriced in my opinion. But I would recommend if you just want to dance all night and be around Gay family ❤️
I booked The Scorpio to host a birthday event for my wife. The ownership, staff and talent were amazing to work with! They exceeded my expectations and I look forward to having them host events for me in the future.
This was the absolute worst excuse for a LGBTQ club I have ever seen. It honestly wouldnt be half as bad if they just didnt market it as such. Its 99% straight people, terrible trap / hip hop music that doesnt represent LGBTQ culture, rude staff, and insanely overpriced drinks. This place would be more accurately marketed as a regular hip hop club. Anyone who has ever been to a real LGBTQ club consider yourself warned.Beyond that... the place is disgusting. Incredibly sticky floors and the smell of puke in the air to really round out the whole experience. Should have taken the 3 police cars posted outside, the metal detector, and the extremely invasive search by security as warning to just get back in the Uber.
They threw my umbrella away. I could not take it to my car as I did rideshare. They said I could pick it up later but they really just threw it away. I did not pay cover/tips to have my belongings treated like garbage. What kind of establishment makes a woman dig through the trash for her things?
Had not been to the club in ages still same interior but clean and good atmosphere. Lemonade drink $10 to expensive not worth it. Tipped anyway!! The show is always entertaining enough but the music and DJ! Ugh! No variety…hip/hop and that’s it….. I get dressed to go out and dance to great music! Trans/house/mix!Can’t say I will be going back or recommend.
DO NOT GO HERE IF YOUR GAY….90% of the people there are straight women and Alllll the music is Trap and Hip Hop (not even the popular hip hop songs). There were more straights here than gay.Typically Gay culture is pop music and you won’t get that here. The drag queens were the only good part but they only lasted an hour. $15 was a waste of money to go here. I feel like they should’ve paid us to go here. You have a better chance of having fun at a straight club with mainstream music than this place. Also drinks are $10+ And weakly made.I rather go to coyote Jose Than here.#homophobic
This place really helps me to conquer my problem. The sounds, drinks, and also the foods was so satisfying. It is affordable as well, you can visit here together with ur family, friends and relatives.
Good environment, but mainly twerk music, which I enjoyed but it’s not everyone’s thing. Feel like there needs to be some upgrades but I don’t know their finances. My only gripe is the wristbands were on WAYYYY too tight. Double wristbands is actually wild, and a little excessive imho. It was Basically handcuffs and I swear they got tighter as the night went on. Soooo uncomfortable, it actually caused such a distraction from enjoying myself.Scorpio management, if you see this, PLS just put the wristbands on less tight. Y’all are great but those wristbands literally were cutting off me and my friends circulation.
It was an enjoyable happy pride♥️ I really enjoy the show and everything. Love the foods and drinks 💖🎊 A great experience indeed.
Me and my friends LOVED IT!!!!!! We went for a friends 20th birthday for all of our first time going and we were hyped. it was good vibes all around. The dancing, music, live shows, everything was just amazing. The staff is friendly. Can’t wait to return 🥰🥳
This is my favorite LGBTQ club in Charlotte. Me and my sisters went three weekends in a row. It’s a lot of fun. The drag shows are always amazing. They enforce there security very well to make sure everyone is safe. Love it here!!!
Went to celebrate the NEW YEAR & the bathrooms were so disgusting and had no locks. For $25 per patron and $5 reentry fee despite giving out armbands and hand stamps (money grab I guess) I think installing locks can be afforded. This was my first time & I was disappointed.
I’ve been coming here since I turned 18. I’m 30 now. Unfortunately the quality of this place has gone down a lot, especially after the original owners sold it. The drag shows lack talent, the security harasses patrons, the drink prices have sky rocketed but are extremely weak. Themed nights aren’t that good, and they increase cover without telling anyone which is lowkey shady. I remember coming here when it was in its prime.. this new variation is a joke. They even block off the sitting areas, trying to claim is for VIP, when we all know it’s so people can see the shows better (if they cared). I genuinely miss it when this was a safe haven for the LGBTQ+ community, and a nice place to come.
THIS PLACE IS JUST SHADY. I was once a regular customer in the late 80s and mid 90s, so I decided to check it out again and see how things have changed. From the charm-free woman at the counter to the nasty bathrooms, this place sucked. The patrons were nice, but the staff had the attitude that they were Gods gift. I dont need an attitude when I spend money, and if I ask for my drink to be correctly made, I dont expect backtalk. For Gods sake, it was a vodka with sprite and LIME, not lemon. I asked nicely, but I got a smirk and an attitude. I wont be back until you teach your staff some manners. But its probably a easy place to get robbed in the parking lot, security wasnt around except the guys leaning on the front counter.
Awesome place to express yourself and dance the night away with great music and amazing people. Brought my family and friends and we had a great time watching the hostess direct people onto the dance floor and compete for the twerk crown. I will definitely be coming back here next time Im in town.Remember to bring cash as this is a cash bar place. They do have an ATM inside with a $3.75 fee.
Absolutely ridiculous!! There was nothing drag about their “drag show”. Women dancing around in Dresses, is not drag. Coming from Orlando, Charlotte has a WHOLE LOT to learn about drag. Drag shows aren’t trap music and females in dresses. You can get that at any club in any city. Just saying. Waste of an hour drive.
The bartender upstairs denied me a free CUP of water. She said that I had to pay $3 for a bottle. I restated that I just simply wanted a cup of water from the fountain and she again said that I’d have to pay $3 for that. I started telling her how ridiculous that was and she threatened to call security. Not sure why a bar is denying its patrons cups of water but that’s horrible business practice. Needless to say, it was not worth the $15 to get in and I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.Update: it’s actually illegal for an establishment that serves alcohol to deny people free water.
My friend invited me last night and this place was amazing!! Really is a great place to be with the friends and have fun.
Ive only been here once for Black Gay Pride in 2014. The drag show and performances were really nice. Place gets really crowded the later it gets. At opening its dead, but at least you can get in and relax. Bar tenders were friendly. Ill have to go back again to get more of an impression.
Took my belongings (420) but allowed others to smoke it in the club. Overall the facility is very UNPROFESSIONAL. One of the guards proceeded to tell me I can have my stuff back and then when I was preparing to leave he said he couldn’t give it to me.
The barkeep higher up denied me a free CUP of water. She said that I needed to pay $3 for a container. I rehashed that I basically needed some water from the wellspring and she again said that Id need to pay $3 for that. I began disclosing to her how ludicrous that was and she took steps to call security. Not certain why a bar is denying its supporters cups of water however that is awful business practice. Obviously, it was not worth the $15 to get in and Ill be taking my business somewhere else.Update: its really unlawful for a foundation that serves liquor to deny individuals free water.
I was told I couldn’t have my song played after I traveled from Troy al to attend to club due nobody knowing my song I was told I had to preform never was given the opportunity to after I asked the owners different time they ONLY LOVE THEY CHANGE that’s it Dj’s play decent music though
Literally the rudest people you will ever meet. Not worth it at all. Go somewhere else. This is a second review: they literally close whenever they want to. We got there 1:30 on a Friday and they just told us they we closed. They makes no sense. If you’re open till 3am, why are you closing at 1:30??? Literally do not come here unless it’s a Saturday. Even then, don’t come till after 1. This place has really gone downhill 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
What looks to be once an okay place to sit down and have a coffee?? Is now littered with poor aesthetic choices in music, lighting and crowd. Performers like August Phillipines in the house cast are rude, uninteresting coke addicts and the bar seems to only bring people in on promise of drink tickets. Ive only heard about scandal and filth before going there a couple months back and the atmosphere did nothing to alleviate that for me. I wish I didnt feel so ashamed of a queer space in my city but its hard not to with what is brought to the table.
Very disappointed. My friends and I arrived at 11pm with the intent of having a good time. I read a lot of reviews and nothing said it was cash only to get in. So it costed $5/person to get in and a $4 ATM charge. Then, we get to the back and go to the bar that had a sign saying cash only bar. Nobody had drinks in their hands and nobody was even at the bar to get drinks because nobody told us up front to get cash out if we wanted drinks. Nobody was dancing, only had their phones out. So my friends and I left, and as we were walking out the people at the front door asked why and then laughed at us which was very rude. Definitely wouldn’t recommend coming here. Also, if you have asthma or anything that causes difficulties breathing, they have a heavy fog machine that can mess with that.
Good service and friendly crowd. Only bad thing was being forced to watch a rap group that looked like 50 year old men perform several songs. People began to leave the floor & I left shortly, but it’s a cool place.
“Scorpio” Charlotte, North CarolinaCover: $12 (Cash Only)Music: Rap/Hip-HopRatchet Level: MediumWhew chileeee! I finally made it here after a failed trip to Charlotte where I ended up falling in the hotel after a day in the amusement park! Irreverent now, lets break down the club. I arrived around 1am. The line wasn’t long and progressed fast. I am going to fail security. We were patted down before entering. I was wearing a lot of garments and a jacket with something in just about every pocket to include a flask. I was able to bring everything in without my pockets being checked. Honestly after the horrific events in Orlando, FL I challenge venues to step up security for events. After you enter you must sign in on a tablet. It is a local law that requires memberships to enter facilities serving alcohol with no food after a specific time frame. I was education on this topic earlier in the day. The cover charge was cash only with ATMs available. Afterwards there are three doors. The door on your left is the main room. The door forward is a stairwell that leads upstairs to the balcony overseeing the main room and a small bar. The door on the right leads to an outside smoking area with a bar. This venue is a nice size. The DJ was playing all the ratchet hits. The crowd was loving it. There was a good male to female ratio with a diversity in age with everyone for the most part being African-American with a mix of Latino and white. Everyone was vibing. The music was great. Money guns were shooting at the crowd. The hosting was walking around with a mic. I had two drinks at the bar. They were good. The restroom seemed clean. The venue was well kept. I was getting Marquette (ATL) vibes but bigger and better. I danced a lot. No drama. No issues. This was an authentic good time. The people I interacted with were very nice and social. I did feel safe and inclusive. Everyone just wanted to enjoy a night out. This was black gay culture at its best honestly. From the music, drinks, and dancing this is where you want to be. There was seating against the wall with trade posted up on the left, a stage to the front, and VIP section to the side with a dance floor in the middle. If you’re in Charlotte this the the only club you want to hit. I do have to shoutout Argon though (a white gay bar on the other side of town). I went there for a drink before making my way to Scorpio. The staff was very nice with history and rules and spoke highly of Scorpio for a young African-American gay like myself. I hope everyone shares the same, if not better experiences I had. Your favorite critic Shamel Jones. Trust me I’ll be back!
It was my first time there. It was lit 🔥 and great vibes, I most definitely will be back.. Dj was off the ⛓️ chain!!! 🎶 🎵
This nightclub holds onto the I.Ds of under aged guests until they leave. Donald, the owner of Scorpio, intentionally damaged my authentic I.D because I forgot to pick it up before I left his establishment one night. When I came to pick it up a week later when they reopened, I was told by the employees that their policy included damaging the I.Ds of only under aged guests who dont pick them up before they left. They said that it indicated that the guests were too intoxicated to pick it up. I honestly never consumed any drugs or alcohol. They told me that I would have to explain to Donald, the owner, why i didnt pick up my I.D or else it will be damaged. Donald approached me with attitude and disrespect and asked me to explain to him why I forgot it. I told him that I didnt appreciate the way he was speaking to me and that the employees never mentioned their policy and that I forgot my I.D. He walked off into his office after that, then came back out and told me to step outside. He then handed me my I.d almost completely cut in two. The bouncer told me that I needed to leave the property. I walked back to my car and had my mom call to speak with him on three-way with me and she respectfully voiced her concerns. He then tells my Mother that she cant believe everything her son tells her and that I am a liar for saying that I wasnt aware of their policy and hangs up on us.
Great clubbing experience for LGBTQ+ people!! Always feel super welcomed and it’s very inclusive. Would definitely recommend going here if you’re looking for a fun night out.
Thank you for letting me enjoy every moment. I was so sad when I go there. But I got home with full of happiness in my heart ❤️
I’m coming on April 9th and been to this club severaltimes . Had a ball each time. Went in dry & came out sweating ! DJ had us bouncing all night. My favorite place to visit when i come into Charlotte. EVERY TIME ! Must visit ! ! ! ❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✌🏾
Got to see the drag show the performance, performers were entertaining! Music was lit and the dance floor was lit lol good experience will return next time I’m in Charlotte.
I gave this place two tries. Not a fan of the atmosphere or the vibe here. Music was okay, but the crowd is where it went wrong for me. The drag show was the best part of the night but it’s early on and pretty short. Other than that this place sucked
This was my first experience at a night club. They LOST my ID and then the man who took it threatened to fight me because HE lost my drivers license. The owner gave me 25$ and didnt even talk to me until i DEMANDED to speak to him. He told me to never come back, but honestly I have no desire to ever return. Honestly i was humiliated and yelled at because someone else couldnt do their job right?? What a joke. The owner also stands by the Id booth so he can look at girls behinds while they pay for entry. Disgusting.
This club is amazing ! Great music and good environment to meet new people . It’s a very comfortable environment for gays and actually met a few new friends there ! Will be coming back !!
Went down with a bach party, do not go here. It’s absolute trash, i felt like i was going to leave in a body bag. If i could give the bartenders a different rating i would give them a 10/10, but the drag show wasnt even a drag show! Ive been to sooo many and they were all fun. This was just skinny dudes dancing and then some wanna be rapper performing. There was no one actually doing a drag performance, i have no idea why they call it that. They booed my friend who was getting married and that was not nice. Typically a real drag show would be supportive and fun of EVERYONE. This place needs either more police, or just needs to shut down. Such a disappointment and a waste of my money. I’d rather jump off a 25 story building.
I dont know where to begin... But im happy i supported this venue. And to be in a venue with people of all color creeds and nationally was even more gracious. The Dj catered to everyone. Now i never met the owner but thats where it starts. Great job. The owener please dont ever give this place up. Thx u soo much. I relly enjoyed bith Friday and Saturday even tho i lost my GA. ID card lol
Went here for pride, paid $20 cover, 45mins in someone sprays pepper spray right as the building reaches capacity. I left, but Im sure they reopened and gladly took others cover. Funny people that are regulars say this always happens on busy nights.
If you looking to have a good time and in charlotte definitely stop by. Whether your straight or gay, you’ll have fun with the different dance floors and hood drinks.
The music was a vibe, the drinks were good, we met new people and me and my sisters had so much fun!! I will be back.
Their website advertised latin night for dia de los muertos but they played almost no latin music. The employees also kept telling us about their haunted house but they had it closed and locked the whole night. It was a let down and I dont see myself going back.
See you soon again. I had so much fun last night. I THINK I GOT MY FAV BAR EVER!! 🤗
Im 19 which means they put xs on my hands and an underaged band on my wrist at the door. THAT I dont mind. What I mind is that they took my license too! Ive never been to a club that went to that amount of trouble. The reason they take your license is when youre waiting in line to leave they check to see if your xs are still intact and your bracelet on. If you dont have one or the other guess what: you have no license or I.D. either. They keep it. I broke none of the rules and here I am still without my license. Well, long story short I was waiting in line at the front desk to leave and I suppose the clerk didnt notice I was underaged so he yelled at me quite rudely that the exit was the other way. So I left forgetting that hours earlier I had left my license. Once you leave the club you arent allowed back in without paying the RIDICULOUSLY high entry fee of $15.So my license is now an hour away from me since I drove in from out of town and I had to order a new one which wont be here for a week or even two. I am PISSED. Dont go here if youre underaged. its not worth all the trouble.
They need ah new dj asap .. he kills my vibe every time i go there .. this place use to be lit ppl use to come from all over just to come here def not the same vibe i use to get
This place desperately NEEDS a new Dj, his music choices are trash nor does he know how to mix, most times people are just standing or sitting because the music is so bi-polar. I’ve never met a dj that when you request a song/genre to be played he will give you the thumbs up AS IF he is going to play it, only for you to NEVER hear what you requested. I think what truly brings in so many people is the drag show because this place is begging for a face lift, the LGBTQ community DESERVES somewhere clean and safe to go to and this place is/has fallen off
The bartenders are great! The entry process was a bit convoluted. The drag show wasn’t that great, but the energy of the queens was. Very hot and crowded.
The line went quick, the DJ was lit, the drinks hit, and it was just a vibe overall 💯 Definitely a place I visit frequently
What a low life kind of place. I have been offended and wronged one too many times at this establishment. First time I was told that I was a “stupid chink” and yes I mean this in the wrong derogative way against Asians, well tonight I was told that because of my abnormality cause by my bilateral cleft lip birth defect. One of the so claimed security guards told me to go “fix my lip”. That is neither professional or right on a basic human level. I’ve been so hopping mad at the comment that I have called everyone I know to vent and clam down to about the situation but nothing has worked or fixed how I feel. I will not and refuse to support a bar/club that allows people to say such offensive things to their customers. I will NEVER support this place again and strongly urge everyone else looking for a good place to spend an ENJOYABLE evening to elsewhere in the city straight or gray friendly.
Contact them and emailed and called and got nothing for months. Sent them message on Instagram and they seen it, but no reply. They said they would eventually share something of mine on Instagram and they never did. I asked them why and they blocked me for no reason. This is the most unprofessional business I have seen. Do not go here
I have travel all over the country and I have never been to a bar worst than this. This place is absolutely terrible and they turn people away for no reason. Do not go here and take your patron money elsewhere!
Decent performers, uneasy environment. Only took one visit for me to never want to come back.
SOOOOO unprofessional. Definitely not worth the hype and they do too much to let you in. If you’re 18 and looking to actually party I don’t recommend. It says they’re 18+ but you’re not treated as an adult there
Saturday December 11, 2021, it was and will be the last time I go, I do not recommend it is my only comment I know I could make the only one that did not like it but I never heard varied music the same sond
Scorpio is one of the only places I will get a sitter just so I can go out. I hang with a fairly large group and its one of our fave stops. I would have given it 5 stars but the tenders often ignore me. Its a lil awkward cuz they seem so nice so i cant validate that its intentional. We shall see what happens tonight lol.UPDATE: Yeah.... I get ignored every time. I just dont order my own drinks anymore. 🤷🏽♀️
The best place to have a good time so much fun and the people are so nice i literally lik be the energy me and all my friends go every weekend!!!!❤️
Terrible experience i paid 25 just for them to steal my id cause my wristband came off. very rude staff
The new Scorpios is white washed.
I come to scorpios every year for my day. I don’t have pics cause I’m too lit to worry about pic. Im actually on my way now (2hr) drive. I love it
Bouncers at this club commit hate crimes towards LGBT folks. Not okay! I would press charges, but I dont have your name. Do not go here! This place is problematic, homophobic, transphobic, racist, elitist, ablist, etc. Patrons cause issues with customers for no reason.
10/10!!!!! If I coulda thrown a stack during the show I would have. Such a fun and safe environment.
This place absolutely sucks the bathrooms have NO locks the drinks are way to expensive and watered down honestly I will never go back the only reason I would go back is for the performance and that’s it everything else sucked
I always have a good time at Scorpios, the drag queens are always fun and they even have performers from drag race come and perform every once and a while.
Prices to get in shouldn’t be that much considering, but I guess it’s a good price for young ppl, the drinks are cheap and good too, I’ve been going for 3 years now I really think they should invest in some hookahs, they would get a lot more business
Best gay club I ever been to so far when I tell u music always on point an drinks or fire ....A place u must go if u wanna enjoy urself 😉
So I havent been to this place since I left in 2016 the owner was a real piece of work but the place itself was fun I dont know if I would ever go back just because of him and his man I dont know much about the place since then heard some horror stories I wish the place success but doubt I will be back
Had a blast!!! Will be back!!! Great atmosphere and awesome show!!!!!
This club is the best place that Ive been to. Its live. Its inviting. And most of all its lit. Definitely the best place to be.
Went here and had a ball I never had this much fun!! If you haven’t went you definitely missing out
The people in there including the staff was very friendly to me considering it was my first time entering their club. I would definitely love to go back there one of these weekends.
Love the ambiance, my friends and I are having a blast time!
Everybody loves to go here. They close later than most clubs. I do wish it was another big LGBT club to choose from though.
Best gay club in Charlotte. Music could improve but other than that the vibes definitely there!
Vibes was amazing everyone was friendly best lgbtq club hands down make sure to check them out when in Charlotte NC
Love coming here, came recently and had a blast w/ some friends. Totally recommend!
Scorpios is alright, if you like hip hop and rnb then Saturdays are for you. Mix crowds and different types of music, Sundays. Fridays are for the cheap beer.
Scorpios is such a vibe, staff is always nice and doing their job to a T, entertainments on point and the bartenders got good hands 😩 I be levitatin.
Over all perfect! nice place to have fun. 💗
Amazing experience, music was good and vibe was nice. Would definitely go back.
One of the best clubs in Charlotte. If you’re looking for a good time, here’s the place to do it.
Music could have more variety. The clientele is rather dirty. No cute bartender staff.
Great place to hang out, great drinks. You’ll have an amazing time 😁
Went here with my sister and had a blast!! Definitely recommend

Sad to see such an iconic bar dying a slow death due to bad owners/management
Great place and very exclusive! Love the vibes!!!

Great night club. Great place to go dancing
Literally the rudest people you will ever meet. Not worth it at all. Go somewhere else.
