Pause was very accommodating trying to find an available spa even if it was their own, they were attempting to help me find service. Tashon, my therapist, was very good at providing massage service for what I considered to be a somewhat emergency massage. She was caring, knowledgeable, and talented. When I am in Chicago again I will definitely schedule with her.

Came in for a couple massage and had a great experience. We were welcomed in from the front desk with a glass of wine before our massage. The whole place had a relaxing/tranquil vibe. We were in a very spacious private room. I had Natalia who was amazing!!! Just the right amount of pressure, I could feel the knots loosening up. Probably the most relaxing massage I have had. We did 90 minutes and couldve gone 90 more!

Hey all, my family and I came for a visit from CA and me and my mom wanted to get a massage after all the hotel beds and travel. We decided to come to Pause Chicago and couldn’t be more happy! My massage therapist Sharae, made sure I was comfortable and was enjoying the service. She also changed the pressure when I asked her to and was inviting and nice. The environment was SUPER relaxing…I did not want my experience to end. I’d recommend a longer session because I was there for 50 minutes but wished I was there longer. Overall, I had a great time and it was a relaxing activity during our vacation.

Made an appointment with another massage center for a prenatal + couples massage. That center accepted my request, then at the last minute carelessly told me it could not be accommodated which left me scrambling for a quality place that could provide what I was looking for. Pause massage went above and beyond to take care of us - making me realize this was the place I should have called in the first place. Outstanding experience, A+ customer service from Jessica & Aniya and awesome massages from Launa & Stan. This place knows how do do business and looks out for the client. Don’t think about it, book them! Thank you Pause!

I had the best experience today at Pause. The place was cozy and feels like a little hideaway in the middle of the city. Jessie at the front desk was lovely and a warm person to see coming in from the cold! She offered me spiced apple cider tea that was delicious while I waited. I had a Relax massage with TaShon and it was amazing! I highly recommend her. I left feeling fresh and rejuvenated! I will definitely be coming back.

I called in today to reschedule my appointment because I had a emergency, told the receptionist i had no intention of canceling and that I was at a salon nearby who gave me a different hair color -than what i wanted.. she went on to tell me there will be a 30$ charge for same day cancelation, she could tell I was in distress so she went on to say sorry but its 30$ and ill be charged automatically..she asked to reschedule and i told her my hair is literally purple i cant tell u right off the bat..so she booked me for next sunday without confirming. While I understand policy is policy but not having any regard for my situation and that to a first time client was super foul to me so 1 star for their customer service!

Absolutely loved our experience at Pause! My hubby and I decided to treat ourselves for our anniversary, and boy, that was the best decision ever! The whole body massage was hands down the best weve had in years. We also tried for the first time the Kobido-Buccal face massage - which was a great experience, done with the utmost precision, sooo relaxing. The therapists were extremely experienced and knowledgeable about each tiny spot that might feel tense in your body. We walked out feeling like new people, totally relaxed and satisfied. I’ve had massages at many places and by far the best deep tissue massage I’ve had was with TaShon at Pause River North. I’ve been multiple times and each massage is better than the last. She is knowledgeable about the body and trigger points. The price point is also reasonable. TaShon is fantastic and I’ll definitely be back :)

I have been coming here for over a year and I have to say it just gets better and better. From the moment you walk in you’re always welcomed with the nicest front desk ladies, to the amazing massage therapists and a wonderful manager. I personally love Stan he is the absolute BEST massage therapist I have ever had. I do the monthly membership which brings your massage down to $84 a month, it’s worth every penny and sometimes I go twice a month. It truly has always been the best experience and if you want to be relaxed with good pressure then Stan is your man. I look forward to my massage every month. You won’t regret coming here, so just book your massage!!

This was my first time at Pause Massage and I must say I am super impressed. The receptionist was a delight very sweet and very informative and has such a pleasant personality. I went in for a deep tissue massage, Himalayan hot stone massage and a foot scrub. Jeff was my massage therapist and he did not disappoint. He has a awesome technique. I left his table feeling super relaxed and my muscles wasnt tight and sore anymore. I will be going back soon. Thanks so much for giving me such a wonderful experience.

Booked my husbands massage about 2 weeks in advance. Provided all the information, including credit card details and when we arrived for our scheduled couples massage they said we were not in the system. Very unorganized place. I even had a confirmation email and they wouldnt take me. Ridiculous!

Ive been going to pause massage for a few months now, and its always been a pleasant experience. Youre always greeted warmly as you enter, and the place is clean and gives a serene atmosphere. The booking online process is so easy. Tina has been the massage therapist, and shes the best. I always walk out feeling great, and shes super friendly. Would highly recommend!

Tina is the BEST! She does such an incredible lymphatic drainage massage. So relaxing. If you’re looking to slim down a bit or decrease bloating and swelling this is a great massage. It’s also great for getting those areas you don’t think are sore or need it. The space is so cute as well. It’s very calming and the front desk staff there are so welcoming and helpful. Great experience and I’ll continue to go back 😁

Oh my gosh!! Fantastic experience all around, from the minute you walk in to the moment you leave. The front desk was so friendly and helpful (shout out to Jacque! I hope I got the spelling right 😖) and the environment is very clean and comfortable.The massage itself had me feeling like a brand new person. I came in for a couples massage with my partner and we both left feeling incredibly relaxed and revitalized. I got a deep tissue massage with Patty and she was amazing. She worked on all of my knots in my shoulder, neck, and back and checked in throughout to make sure I was comfortable. I walked out feeling so GOOD! Definitely can’t wait to come back again!

TaShon is amazing!! I got a deep tissue massage and it was perfect. She really paid attention to the areas I mentioned while still doing full body. I left feeling noticeably lighter and felt a lot of pain/tension relief. Will definitely return for her services again.

After a long trip from Europe to Chicago, to run the marathon, was feeling exhausted and with heavy legs! I did a sports massage with Stan, and I felt amazing before my run!! Excellent massage and professional!!

This was my first experience at Pause massage. I saw Kate for my deep tissue massage service. I was experiencing some low back pain and muscle stiffness. She asked for feedback on the pressure, focused on the specific areas of need and made it a really enjoyable experience!

I would highly recommend having a massage with Stan, he is very detailed and thorough at his work. I was only to get a massage once, but I ended up going back severally. The hospitality at the front desk is a top notch. Try it you won’t be disappointed.

My therapist was very nice, but I was disappointed that they didn’t look over the intake form I filled out prior to the massage, I specifically said I only wanted my shoulders, back, neck, feet and hands massaged. The therapist started massaging my legs and I had to tell him to stop. I didn’t like that the therpist tried to continuously crack my wrist and fingers, that’s something that I don’t even do my self nor would I want someone doing that to me. :(

This place is consistently amazing. I have been coming here for about 3 years now and have seen several massage therapists-all wonderful. The reception staff is caring, kind and always welcoming and they have water (& currently apple cider for added coziness). Highly recommend.

I went to the Dearborn location and had an amazing experience. My wife and I decided to go with the couples massage for our anniversary. Alex was my massage therapist and was the best massage therapist that I have ever had. She really took into account my preferences for the massage, and I left feeling great and refreshed. The place is clean and everything went flawlessly. 10/10 would highly recommend.

The best massage I’ve ever had! The pressure was perfect - deep but also very relaxing! She got lots of stress knots out of my back. The whole experience was amazing. My husband and I did a couples massage. We were in town for a work conference and it was convenient enough to walk to! The couples room was nice and a very professional experience. We met the owners while we were there - very nice couple! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Chicago!

It’s not easy to find massage really good massage therapists. Well I found them!!!! At Pause Massage.My first time receiving Himalayan hot salt stone massage with Erica was amazing. She was able to get all my knots out and I love a really good deep tissue which is exactly what she gave me.I have also returned for a hot stone massage with Amanda. Amanda was able to focus on where I really need work on without me telling her. I was very relaxed and her pressure was great. Her deep tissue was also amazing. Hands down the best experience at Pause specially with it being cold in Chicago right now.

Came to Chicago Memorial Day weekend for my birthday. I found them on google and booked what I thought was for their streetsville location since I did call that number to reserve for that Sunday. Day of massage we get to location it was closed. Called they then tell us it’s further than we thought. When booking they need to specify which location they would like to book for not everyone is from Chicago and knows. My best friend got a couples massage our massage therapist were good however there are some things I would suggest. I don’t do well with lotion I prefer oil they should heat up oil before use. I had Stan and he was great but hands were ice cold probably would warm hands either with those hot towels or under hot water. Also he spent too much time massaging my butt. I would have rather him utilize that time for my feet and hands. I did specify the areas I would like him to spend more time on prior to the massage . Other than all of that cute place.

The massage was incredible and very relaxing. I was running a little late and when I called to let them know, they were extremely accommodating and were able to bump my appt to a later time. The receptionist could not be any nicer! It was great experience!

Dont even both going anywhere else! Ive gone to Pause twice now with my most recent massage being with Summer. Everyone from the receptionist to the therapist were kind and welcoming. Facilities are nice and clean. And the massage is terrific. All around an amazing experience.

I can’t boast enough about my deep tissue massage with Tashon. The pressure, touch, and experience was top notch. If you need a deep tissue massage I URGE YOU to book with Tashon, she will make you rebook every time.

I love everything about my experience here.I came in on Sunday and were attended right away. My therapist was very professional, she was constantly making sure I was comfortable with pressure and temperature. I was so relaxed I fell asleep for a bit towards the end of the session. Its a really great place to get a massage and for the money the value is amazing!

Good service at a convenient location. The place is small but is kept clean and quiet. My masseuse is very tentative to my requests and pays due attention to the areas I specified. She also offers great care to places that I didnt know needed massage and it really feels great!

I had full body 1hr massage last week. My experience was wonderful from check in to check out. Clean, professional and relaxing. Olga was my massage therapist and she was amazing. Perfect amount of pressure and really worked out the knots in my neck. I’ve already recommended this place to friends. I’ll be back soon!

Pause has 2 locations with the Ontario location being nearest to our hotel. My wife and I left 2 messages on their voicemail but were never called back. The next day, we went online and scheduled 2 different types of massages at their other location since there were no online openings nearby. We arrived 20 minutes early to fill out our forms. My wife was escorted back first by a male therapist. I was surprised since she had requested a female for a Signature massage. 5 minutes later, a female therapist came for me. Again, I was surprised since I had requested a male for a deep tissue massage with hot stones. We came to find out that they had mixed up our massages. They did not switch back since “they were already set up”. My massage was less firm than I was expecting and my wife felt uncomfortable with the amount of time that was spent massaging her glutes. There was also noise from the salon above so it was not a relaxing environment. There were no apologies for their error so it was a disappointing experience overall.

TL;DR: Truly the weirdest and most awkward experience of my life.I dont know if this is a reflection on the place itself, it might just my massage therapist. The front desk staff was so kind and the place was cute and super clean.HOWEVER. My massage experience - SO weird. First things first, I booked a 50 minute massage and showed up at 7 and was out the door, done, paid, dressed by 7:45. When I walked in the massage room I saw the timer and it was already down to 47 minutes so youre not getting a full 50 minutes.Ive gotten a lot of massages and once it started, Im 100% sure this woman had never given a massage in her life. There was no technique, no purpose to anything she was doing. She would do things on the right and not the left, didnt work on anywhere I told her needed it. At one point she was ON ALL FOURS ON MY BODY. Her knees were on the back of my thighs and her elbows were on my back. Like, girl what?! Then she asked me if she was making me nervous which is such a weird question to ask during a massage. Girly I wasnt before but now I am!She was twisting my arms in ways they were absolutely not supposed to be to the point that it was painful. She also got behind me and pull my whole upper body up so I was fully exposed if anyone else saw. At the end she had me sit up and sat on the table right behind me and just pushed her elbows onto my shoulders while I was sitting upright on the bed?As if that whole experience wasnt weird enough, she gave me a small cup of cider after and I was like oh thanks and she made me finish it before giving me water? I dont know it felt like a weird fever dream. I almost left in the middle of it.Anyway, needless to say I left more stressed than when I got there and I will not be back.

Today was my second time massage at My Massage place. I loved it, Jose, was wonderful. It was one of the best massages I ever had, and I used to work in the Hilton Spa. He know the muscles so well and where I was tight. I had a deep tissue massage. Paula is also amazing. I strongly recommend either of these therapists.

I had massages with Stan At the Dearborn location and it is always very high-quality. He is very thorough and manages to release all my tight muscles. The spa is also very clean and smells really nice inside, and they have some products available for purchase if you’re interested as well. I would definitely recommend this place, and I’ve tried so many different massage places around Chicago.

Wonderful massages in a calming setting. Not posh and stuffy like other spas but just the right amount of comfort. Would definitely recommend Stan as your massage therapist, he is the best!

I had a great massage from Jose yesterday! I chose the Signature Massage since its on promotion right now and it sounded like just what I needed. The heated pad and aromatherapy was very relaxing. Jose asked about my pressure preferences and checked in to make sure the pressure was right for me. Highly recommend trying this place out!

My husband and I were in town for a special occasion and decided to try out Pause for a nice massage. We were contacted prior to appointment to go over Covid guidelines. When we arrived we were assessed and asked if there was any areas of focus. When the massages began...amazing and met all plus more of any expectations we had. Paula and Summer were very pleasant and attentive to our needs and stress areas. Afterwards they had some great advice for us to work on to better help maintain loose muscles and less tension. Will definitely love stopping by again whenever we’re in Chicago.

Erica worked wonders! Had major knots and tightness in my shoulders from sitting at my desk all day. Sign up for a combo massage knowing that it’ll take a few visits to get back in order. Erica did a great job and I felt way better than expected after. I didn’t realize how tight I actually was before until after my session...Should’ve come sooner. Pressure was quite firm but definitely needed! Definitely recommend and will return.

Jose is absolutely gifted with healing touch and Im so glad I decided to stop in for a massage this evening. Jose is intuitive and understands and listens to the body well. He applied just the right pressure to help ease the pain in my lower back. The vibes here are lowkey, relaxing and friendly. I was able to easily find their basement spa location because its conveniently located directly across the parking lot of Whole Foods. My hour was perfect and in the near future Id love to schedule a longer session! Wonderful experience and thanks again.

The massage was not good at all I felt i was getting massaged by beginners. It was not worth it at all for the price. I would never go back and I was shorted 3 minutes. Sorry but it’s the truth. I would rather go to china town for half the price and way better.

Dont let the understated signage and basement entrance detour you. Ive had massages all over the world and my massage with Paola was one the BEST massages Ive had. I had a severe tension headache the day before and had a lot of soreness in my neck and shoulders. Paola gave a wonderful Swedish massage and did some stretching through my neck as well as some scalp massaging. I felt so much better afterwards! To top it off their prices are very reasonable.

I have visited this place twice during business trips to Chicago. Great massage at a good price! Friendly and professional staff. Doesnt look like much from the outside, since you go down a narrow set of steps to the basement level, but very comfortable on the inside.

When you see the spa from outdoor, you are nearly affraid to enter... but dont be !!!! As soon as you get down the steps, you enter in a calm and comforting hallway with dim light and candles.I had a warm welcome and the therapist was available for an hour swedish massage right now, even if I hadnt an appointment. You cant beat the price : 49$ for an hour in downtown Chicago. Unbelievable.The massage was really great, she applied the pressure I wanted (swedish was perfect for me). There was a heated table and dim light. Very comfy and warm. At the end, she gave me a heated towel to remove the oil remaining on my skin. I was also offered a tall glass of water.To sum up : not a big spa experience, but a very good massage in a warm & cosy environment. Really relaxing. I will definitely be back !!

Summer is the best. Always pleasantly relieved of sore muscle aches. But more than that I am stretched out. Enjoy conversations. Been coming to my massage /paused for 4 years. Found the best masseuse. I will settle for nothing less. Grateful.

Faulty online booking system - despite confirmation text, they cancelled on me when I got there.I realize these things can happen, but I have to admit it was really disappointing. It’s my birthday, I’m traveling for work and my neck/back is killing me after working hard all day - thought I would book a massage as a birthday treat. I book several hours ahead of time and then leave a meeting 15min earlier to walk over - only to be told there was a double booking and they couldn’t see me. I had the choice of several massage places when I was looking online for tonight, and unfortunately the one I picked had a faulty booking system. Not a great experience, I hope they fix their issues.

It was a very difficult stay for me in Chicago until I found My Massage Spa by chance. 80min deep tissue with Jose it was the best decision I made. Thank you for this wonderful experience. I regret that in my city there is no Spa like My Massage. I have the reason to come back here quickly.
