Ive had fun every time Ive been here. The only complaint I have is the inconvenient bathroom location upstairs but other than that, the music slaps and the vibe is nice. Would recommend buying a ticket online in advance since day-of pricing is higher. Drinks are good and reasonably priced for downtown Chicago. Theres a coat check and its only a few bucks too. Finding free street parking nearby is easy on Kingsbury. Come to Prysm and dance the night away.
Had a rough time with the bouncers who seemed to be on a power trip. The place was a bit of a mess organization-wise. They had us waiting outside in the cold even though there was plenty of room inside. For general admission, things could be way more sorted out since we all have tickets anyway. Also, the folks at the entrance could definitely be nicer and more human about things.
Poor Organization! I saw online that a famous DJ was going to be playing there. But Online it said tickets were sold out. I called the venue and I was told that as long I was to get there early there will be a few available tickets on a first come first serve basis. I arrived 30min before doors open only to be told after they starting letting people in that was not the case & to hang around outside and there was maybe a possibility that if not that many people showed up they will start letting people without tickets get in. Who is going to wait around to do that. People with no life that’s who. A big waste of my time!
My experience with this night club but especially people whos look after the place. I give 5 star review for; the atmosphere, ambiance and bartender. Big shout out for to the person who is there making things happen, Row is the RO outside.
Overcrowded as fukk. sold twice more tickets than capacity. Other sounds behind the wall louder than the DJ. No place to dance. Flashing lights on right wall causing epilepsy. I had a digital ticket, but they gave me handwrites too)))Mans restroom visit is American Ninja Challenge.pros: great screen, nice lasers, NO security
Prsym by far is one of the best clubs in Chicago!! The vibe is amazing and the staff that work there is top notch. I had someone approach me who wasn’t a good vibe, the bouncers dealt with it quickly and with so much care. I definitely recommend going here for some great music and amazing vibes.
PRYSM Nightclub is the epitome of nightlife excellence in Chicago! From the moment you step inside, youre transported to a world of music, lights, and energy like no other. The state-of-the-art sound system creates an immersive experience that you can feel in your heart, making every beat unforgettable. The enchanting lighting and striking visuals add a mesmerizing touch to the atmosphere, turning every night into an extraordinary adventure. But what truly sets PRYSM apart is the lineup of world-class DJs who take the stage. Its not just a nightclub; its a front-row seat to some of the worlds top DJs delivering mind-blowing performances that will leave you dancing the night away.PRYSM Nightclub is the Midwests crown jewel when it comes to nightlife. If youre looking for the ultimate dance party experience, look no further. This is the place where unforgettable memories are made, and I cant recommend it enough!
We saw Kevin de Vries here and loved it. Why? The air refresher was just great. This was the first club I didnt smell sweat even it was very crowded. 5 STAR just for that air freshener!!!!Although I should mention that I enjoyed the dance floor more than the VIP table sections, so think twice before making a reservation!!
I dont even know where to begin. The service was ok but the crowd was easily one of the worst I have ever seen. Absolutely awful. Frankly I am at a loss for words for how terrible it was. The artist performing was world class, but the crowd and atmosphere was complete garbage. People there were not there for the music and It was very clear. The crowd was full of low energy and very rude people. Never ever again. Do not go here even If your favorite artist is performing, it is really that bad. I am writing this review after leaving a show early (for an artist I was very excited to see), and I have never in my life left such a show early.
Bartenders were great, bouncers did their job, but literally the worst crowd I have been in and I’ve been to plenty of concerts, festivals, and clubs. The club scene has deteriorated. Moral of the story is that people suck. Drinks were reasonably priced and properly made. Bathroom attendant originally worked at The Mid when it existed and is a nice fella. Crowd was impolite.
Valet parking is 40$ cash or 45$ credit card . Entry is 20$. Water is 8$ and drinks 20$ . Music was so bad . Really expensive place for the service they provide . We thought if they are so expensive this place will be good actually it is opposite . I dont recommend this places to anybody. This was my first and last time in this night club. Service was pure too. We had to go to another place. Our night was ruined at this place. We went Liqr is really cool place to go instead. Domt wast yiu time in Prysm.
Great time! We went to see Eli and Fur play. I’ve been following their music and artistic development for over 4 years and was excited to hear them live play some of my favourite of their songs. It was a pleasure to meet them after the event, despite them being busy and going to the airport for their next event, in Florida I think. Even though they were super busy they stopped for a quick selfie with me and made my day even better. It was a pleasure to briefly meet and talk to my role models. Thanks Eli and Fur! 20221230
Had the BEST time at PRYSM!!!! Staff there is truly so wonderful and they take such good care of you. Vibes are always so fun and the music is always a blast!!! Must do!!
If you like to dance and party you’ll always find the biggest names in dance music at Prysm. The dance floor is huge. The table setup is perfect. Not a bad seat in the house. Love watching big name acts from the balcony that surrounds the club! They just added a few crazy new upgrades. The sound and lighting production is next level. Rocky has taken care of me and my wild friends too many nights to count. Hospitality goes a long way with me and Sean and Rocky always deliver. Whether it’s a night out w friends or a special occasion this is thee spot. If you’re a local or a visitor looking for the best party in the city, Prysm should be where you go.
Nice club, music was not half bad, but the prices in this club are absolutely insane. I ordered 4 plain vodka shots and two cocktails, the bill was roughly $120. Cocktails $30 and shots $20 a piece. Not worth it.
Really felt like an archetypal snobby nightclub. If you go to feed your ego you might love it. Music was great - Dusky threw down - but the vibes were disdainful from the environment and some staff. Wouldn’t recommend it to friends looking to just go out and enjoy some music.
Absolutely amazing service for brenden and ray absolutely had the best birthday thanks to them also the service is phenomenal special shoutout to persia and georgia the bottle girls are beyond friendly and would highly recommend. also mike and nule are the best and will keep you safe all night if you are girls.
Before you decide to visit this venue you should know that management considers tap water food to be sold so they will not have any water to offer to their patrons. Instead, they will offer you Fiji water for purchase. They have taught their staff to explain to patrons that its not in fact illegal to not offer water, per their philosophy.Consider this a place for consumption, not for community building and gathering.
What a disappointment. I paid to see Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano and it’s 3Aam and nothing. I asked someone from Prysm stuff and that person said “I think they’re coming out at 4am maybe I don’t know” even though the place closes soon. So dumb. I spend money on friends and drinks for this 🤷 is this for real?
RO has been an excellent employee . The bartender are attentive and the crowd is immaculate. Def coming back, it was my first time here.
This is one of the top nightclubs in Chicagoland in my opinion. I’ve been taken to almost all that Chi has to offer, but the sound, service, energy, management, at PRYSM is unmatched. They’re also constantly expanding and bringing in top artists. This place was my first recommendation for entertainment by locals after I moved there, and I have had only the best memories come out of those doors ever since. A lot of the negative reviews seem to stem from a lack of understanding about the nightlife, so take them with a grain of salt!
I saw a comment below about security.. I was also waiting in line for the Day One, 24 hour party. Security let me know that they were at capacity, thats why they werent letting people in. No matter how much they explained, people were pushing and shoving because they were cold. Security tried to calm everyone down, but people gave them a really hard time and were shoving security back against the rail. When we finally made it thorough I apologized to security for everyone in line acting so inappropriately
One of the worst night club in chicago, Personnel at Prysm were royal verks ( head security) the security guys kept pushing people away to kick them out despite the dj yelling at them to get their attention to stop. Chicago police was on the scene. They had no respect and empathyIm very disappointed.
Only good thing about this place is the music.Drinks are very overpriced even for Chicago. However the absolute worse thing about this bar is their staff/security. There is absolutely zero respect for their customers and they are unwilling to help with anything unless its showing you the exit at the end of the night.
I had a really pleasant first experience here. Told the bartender I’d leave a review if I remembered in the morning and honestly she was so sweet I wanted to say something. All bartenders were attentive and fun…the one who served us, the blonde ….. forgot her name - Jenny or Jacky I think ? Was so fun!!! We were thrown off by no Red Bull (which is only part that we didn’t like to be honest) but she immediately recommended other drinks that we all loved! Would definitely go back - service makes or break a place and she was awesome!!
Could be a great place if they didnt pack it like sardines. No room to dance or even move with bumping into the person next to you. People shoving their way through to get to the front or to the bar, every 2 mins. Need a bar on the side imo Would be a great place to go if they didnt jam pack it.
Prysm is one of my go to spots in Chicago! Always amazing hospitality when I stop by! The drinks are always on point and the sound system is unmatched in Chicago! I highly recommend stopping here if you’re in Chicago looking to have a good time. The best staff all around (from the bartenders to security) everyone treats you like family!
Great venue with an excellent staff. Everything about this place is top-notch and perfect for private events.
We love Prysm! They have good djs there and the service is great! We got engaged there so it also hold a special place in our hearts. We went there this past weekend for a show and it was great! Except that our favorite bartender Yolie was not there. Shes the best bartender they have! Hope to be back soon
I invited a couple of my closest, most beautiful friends to see my son DJ Kula mix it up on Saturday 2/10/2024. Over a dozen showed up and they thanked me for the best time!!! Arbi, the manager of the club, his staff, security made us feel so VIP and safe...Best upscale club in the City of Chicago by far!!! Yes, It is not a cheap club but if you want a cheap club they are out there but they are not better! If you want to party with the best than this is the place!!! I wish they had a food menu, but I made sure everyone ate before arriving so it really was not a big deal!
Not recommended. The bouncers are super rude and disrespected me more than once. Specifically one in the second floor yelled and me for no reason at all, and for what I see in the comments it is very common this happens here. They should adjust their staff!
Traveled hours away to go to a private party at this club that I never heard of, in the snow, and once I have arrived to the function. I was turned around by security stating that I wasnt dress up according to the dress code which I didnt know of or wasnt presented to anyone for that matter. Many people have traveled for this purpose and also kept turning me away. They let certain people in with hat, caps, and turbans but turned me and some away for that reason.. Once I gave them my hat, someone stolen/gave away from security!! Ill never make a return here and by the looks of it from reviews, it isnt a good look or to be recommended.
Prysm is the place to be! The artists are always such a vibe and you can’t beat the sound system! The bottle servers & bartenders are always welcoming and with two floors there’s plenty of space to move around
They choose who the want to go in first one minute its ladies next its tables Rsvp while other standing out in the coldur dont matter if you were there first, I seen at least 50 ppl go in before me because my finace was a male we had to let ladies first and I refused to go in without him, Dj was 🔥, drinks was ok, and this place was very crowded you could barely move around.
Prysm is truly my favorite club in the city! They always have the best artists, lights and service!! Beautiful and bubbly bottle girls and fun, friendly bartenders :) this is my every weekend spot.
The overcrowded-ness was too much for me too handle. I ended up having very little space to dance and people in front of me kept walking back and forth to get drinks from the bar so many times that it became too distracting and really annoying. Ended up not being able to enjoy the music because of it. This place needs a solution to this, desperately. Either set up a second bar near the front of the stage so that people dont go back and forth every 30 minutes for more drinks, or increase the dance floor space, or lower the amount of people they let in so the dance floor doesnt end up feeling clogged, or whatever. But unless this aspect of the club gets fixed, I dont know if I will ever come back.
Charge $7 for water…. Friend spent $84 for 4 white claws…. Cover was $30…. Went to go refill my bottle of water (which I already paid $7 for) in the bathroom and the bathroom attendant got up in my face for going towards the sink to fill my bottle up with water…. Dont go here it’s a capitalist scamEdit: water was $7/bottle & I bought 2 bottles and didnt leave a tip since water should be free (sorry but not sorry). Just found out my card got charged for $15, so they charged a tip without my consent…Not cool bro
Bartenders are rude, security doesnt do their job- water is 7$ a bottle, no other option and they add in a tip on your check w/o telling you. A girl was literally trying to punch our lights out on the dance floor and nothing was done. People were falling over drunk/etc and no one asked them to leave but random other people would be kicked out for no reason at all. The lighting was pretty cool but the service sucked so much it didnt matter.
Terrible nightclub, went here expecting a fun time but the short while bouncer was very aggressive for no reason. Would never come back to this place due to the services
Way too expensive for what it is. cant even get tap water. only overpriced fiji. a single vodka rebull is nearly the price of a bottle of vodka in any convenience store. definitely has a mix of pretentious people that are there just to be seen but also people that are really there for the music so 3/5. ooo and bar staff was really kind & fast.
I dont doubt that other people have had bad experiences, with that being said my friend and I had no issues while here Saturday night for Gareth Emery. We arrived a little after 11pm. Got in quickly and effortlessly, no questions asked. We did have tickets purchased ahead of time. Headed up to the second floor and stayed there all night. Had a good view of the main floor, sound quality was great.I will agree, drinks are overpriced. Vodka (titos) and cranberry juice was $13, but the club itself was clean and upscale. It would be nice if there was seating for people who arent paying thousands of dollars. I didnt get a good look on the main floor however. It seemed most of it was for bottle service. Ive only been to a couple night clubs ever so this one was a good experience.
Anton, Mario and Tanika went above and beyond. I’ve been to clubs all around the world and this club treated me the best. Will be coming back every time I’m in Chicago .
The bartenders were great. The dancefloor was hoppin. Security was the nicest Ive ever encountered. They were looking out for me and walked me to my Uber. Pay these men more!
This place is not safe. The Bartenders are really bad at lying about the drinks they give you. Some serious race issue vibes coming from management.
The guy with the glasses Ro and Adam from the smoking area I guess has gave me a magnificent night I will be coming back!!!!!!
Went with my bestie, they had great drinks and the dj was killin it. we already planned our next night there!
It was a bad experience I asked for bottle service and everything was extremely horrible page everything I asked for when I entered was more than 1000 dollars and then they charged me they brought me the bottle when they wanted and then 1 hour to close they were already cleaning and security wanted to get me out of the section and my bottle was not finished I had to take it in my hand and go to the middle of the rink I dance to you just because they wanted to clean early its the worst experience Ive ever had in a nightclub I recommend it to anyone
Terrible service, over selling tickets and taking people off the guestlist so they can charge $100per person at the door. Horrible management and communication.
Had a great experience thanks to Phil! I try and come here several times a month and have a great time, every time! Not to mention the killer sound system from Funktion One! Highly recommend!
Cool spot. Very strict on staying in once you entered. You can only go to the smoking area. I paid $30 to park in their parking lot in case of emergency (phone dies, need somewgere to get air when everything gets crowded, etc) just for them to get frustrated when I asked about going to plug my phone. They did let me go once, but gave us a “don’t ask again attitude” kind of a red flag for me. I got a feeling off being trapped. As soon as we got there, I ordered two tequila sunrises knowing it would’ve been a reasonable price. To my surprise Two drinks came out to $72! And they were about as good as a $15 drink. I told the bartender that was insane and asked for a breakdown as I showed her my statement on my account (the other bartender took the receipt book before I could take my copy, otherwise I would’ve given her the receipt ). She told me to find a bar manager that didn’t exist. when I would ask for the man, no one knew who he was.It was over crowded. I didn’t feel safe this time. It’s not a terrible venue. It’s actually a beautiful space. I just got an uncomfortable feeling from staff. I’ve been to upscale bars in the city and have always felt like If anything happened, I’d be Able to get someone to help me. Here, It felt unwelcoming.I’d try again under different circumstances. I’ll pass on the bar
Security was ignorant as hell. Some girl hit my friend in the face and they did nothing about it. Just told us to stay away from her. Website says $20 parking in lot next door… parking was $40. Website also says no shorts…saw a lot of people wearing shorts. Club was extremely crowded and everyone was pushing each other and the vibe was terrible. Won’t be going back here. Only thing good was Tiesto…although he was supposed to start at 10pm and didn’t end up starting until about midnight. Good thing the tickets were a gift.
Prysm is my happy place. Ive been here twice and always felt so happy, charged, and like I was truly in a world-class experience.I want to give an extra shout out to the bathroom attendant who was super concerned about my friend who had a bit too much to drink. She was watching closely, checked in with me twice, knew when we needed to open the door, and called a couple other people from management to make sure we got to the street safely. They were obviously so attentive and concerned for both our well-beings, and I wont forget that feeling of security.
My friends and I love Prysm! We always have the best nights here and the staff is super friendly!
Michael Fagan (manager gave me his full name) denied me and 3 of my girlfriends a single cup of water at the bar. This is clearly a trickle down decision. Unless we payed $7 a glass, we had no option to avoid dehydration for the evening. Prism will deny you your human rights and should be shut down until they prioritize people over profit.
The sound system is atrocious... ownership, can you hire someone to tune your speakers before the show starts for once? For months, shows have been all bass—barely any mids or highs. Many folks at Day One were saying they would not be coming back due to the sound quality...
The parking lot is the only thing that works, and the DJs who are going to perform, the attention especially from the bartenders, is very terrible, they are always focused on their phones, they dont pay attention to anything, I asked one of them, a blonde, for a recommendation, and She treated me badly, she humiliated me for being Latino and being gay, she told me to use my brain to imagine what drink I would order her because she doesnt recommend any, I bought her a margarita that was very expensive and poorly served, especially for her, they shouldnt have it. there she will know when you read this comment who I am she will remember it all her life I made a bad recommendation to all my friends from school not to go there while she is there I should make a filter to put trained people to work in the place I will take it to other levels so that they have respect and do not discriminate against anyone!!! false
I like this spot, especially after renovation!I like how the dance floor is much more open now!The crew/staff (specifically on doors 3/25/23) are great!I’ve never had an issue with staff either in the several times I’ve been here.I do miss the old guy on lights though, and when they used to use the CO2 A lot! New guy is cool and good at what he does, just doesn’t bring as much energy lolOverall, I like this club!
My night at Prysm was nothing short of spectacular! From the pulsating beats that greeted me at the entrance to the vibrant energy that reverberated throughout the night, this place truly knows how to create an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was electric, with neon lights casting a dynamic glow over the dance floor. The DJ skillfully curated a mix of music that had everyone on their feet, seamlessly transitioning between genres and keeping the energy high. Whether youre into House, Techno, or the latest remixed chart-toppers, Prysm had it all.The crowd was diverse, creating a lively and inclusive vibe. From locals showing off their dance moves to tourists soaking in the unique Chicago nightlife, there was a sense of unity on the dance floor. The spacious layout allowed for plenty of room to move, and the strategically placed seating areas provided a welcome respite when needed. The bar staff deserves a special mention for their efficiency and friendly service. Despite the bustling crowd, they managed to whip up cocktails with flair, and my drink was consistently top-notch. The variety of beverage options, including signature cocktails and craft beers, added to the overall enjoyment of the night. What truly set this nightclub apart was the attention to detail in its design. Chic and contemporary, yet with a nod to Chicagos rich architectural history, the venue was a visual feast. The incorporation of cutting-edge lighting effects and visuals enhanced the overall sensory experience, making every moment feel like a celebration.Security and organization were also commendable. The staff ensured a safe and enjoyable environment, and the entry process was swift yet thorough. It contributed to an overall sense of comfort and allowed patrons to focus on having a good time.I left Prysm with a renewed appreciation for the citys nightlife scene. Whether youre a local looking for a regular spot to let loose or a visitor seeking an authentic taste of Chicagos after-dark allure, this nightclub is a must-visit. My night was a euphoric blend of music, atmosphere, and good company – an experience Ill undoubtedly be reliving and recommending to friends.
Just Wow! For a fun night out with great music and great drink prices compared to other clubs, Prysm definitely set the bar high for their competition. The atmosphere with the lights and laser make you feel as if you’re in another world. The hospitality from the staff is fantastic. Bartenders are on point and you’re not waiting forever for a drink. Have booked many tables for friends and parties and the VIP team (shout-out to Rocky) are the best at making you feel like The VIP.
One of the worst clubs in Chicago its a miracle City of Chicago hasnt closed for starters when the headline goes on to its overcrowded on the dance floor and buy them changing the lights making it darker its like half of the club thats in front of the DJ booth is snorting of cocaine youre going overboard their charge so much money to go in charging so much money for drinks nowhere to to sit down management disrespectful in a tall skinny black guy with the dreads I dont know if hes a manager or just part of security team but after he kicked out half of my party from the table we were paying for he kept Im threatening us putting his hand under his jacket talking about lets go outside lets very bad for business cant believe what my friends and family had to go through here washrooms overcrowded you can barely walk in that establishment and Im usually a regular spending thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars every weekend just to get treated like and have security Management thats very sad and disrespectful still cant believe whos the owner Mr Wikl Shawn Wayans I thought he left this place a long looks like hes still there didnt want to apologize to me or any of my friends or family members from the table that we were paying for give this place for thumbs down
Dear Prysm, I admire your attempt to reimagine the club on Friday nights, but please-please do better. The sound quality during Mind Against night was ridiculously bad! All we could hear was bass: blasting, hurting our ears even with the earplugs. Why is it still so difficult to figure out the right sound in 2023?? Multiple people around me were wearing their Airpods in an attempt to save their hearing. Please offer earplugs, this is a 101 for any respectable techno club. If you are so cheap - ok, sell them. And one more thing - putting on rap music for ten minutes in between two techno acts - this is just being tone deaf to the community you are trying to attract on Friday nights. It was so disruptive 🫣
The security team, and especially bravo were super sweet and nice!!! Had a great time
Easily the worst club I have ever been to.Bouncers made a big deal about my boyfriend wearing open toed shoes even though he said there isn’t a dress code on Fridays. My other friend was wearing open toed shoes but it was cool because she was a girl. For my boyfriend, it was a liability issue, but it was all good when we switched shoes. Almost tried to start a fight and kick us out after we paid the cover. Speaking of, $20 cover is crazy for the vibe of this place. Awful
I paid for an event that they didnt let me enter, its totally ridiculous, you could even say its a fraud, Ill investigate it with a lawyer 😡
Generally a very good Funktion One sound system. They spend a lot of money for lighting which gives a super nice vibe. BUT there is NOWHERE to sit down unless you have a table service.. and according to my experience Americans are not the most fit of people. A club needs a sitting area. I have huge trouble finding a place with one here in Chicago. If a sitting area is included this can be by far the best club in Chicago.. cheers
Im very disappointed. the treatment and racism that exists in this nightclub is HORRIBLE, the Mexican man in the bathroom who according to him is called Jose treated me like garbage when I tried to take paper to close my hands, the man tried to hit me and treated me with a lot of hate . I am going to take this case to the Chicago police and mayor for being so racist and treating people so badly.
Bravo and Antonio provided friendly, informative and quick service at the door. Great venue!
Way to expensive. 4 white claws were $85. Water was $7. I don’t recommend at all. Music wasn’t great either! This place is so pretentious and service was very rude
This place couldn’t be worse of an experience. Loaded college kids everywhere with a chip on their shoulder trying to start problems with anyone. Security also has a chip on their shoulder, they don’t pay attention, especially kicking out my buddy who was a victim of these college clowns. I’ll never go back and pay any money in this establishment. Go to radius for EDM/techno shows. This place is a bust. Beware. Garbage production and small space anyway.
I absolutely love PRYSM! If you’re looking for a place with a great atmosphere to dance with fun and loving people — this is it! The venue is big and open, you are able to see the artists from any spot. The staff is professional and welcoming. Being in Chicago, this is the only place I feel safe to get lit, lol. The music is amazing, too! Some weekends, I don’t know the artists but still end up going and having the best time ever!
Honest review - The club hosts an edm environment, I am from Toronto and I can say Chicago knows how to party. Don’t wear shorts or you won’t get allowed it, the crowd and atmosphere of the place is about a 9/10. The club fills the hell up after 11:30, best time to go id say is 11 pm. The music is a mixture of Tech house, European techno and trance music. I am a dj and this is honestly a great club, you will have to pay for water. The staff were friendly and had no complaints otherwise. Floor is a bit sticky so wear beater shoes and washrooms do get crowded. My insta Dj_dyzfunction
After reading the polarizing reviews of Prysm, I was apprehensive to attend anything at this venue. While I can’t say I’m really never in the mood to go clubbing with frat boys and aspiring influencers, the increasing number of elite tech house artists on the calendar was inevitably going to bring me in. While my initial assessment proved to be true in the demographics, I was quickly blown away by the state of the art Funktion One sound system and lasers that rival Miami music week afters. The production coupled with the layers of dance space with several bars makes the experience enjoyable for even the most fringe electronic fan. If it’s too crowded grab a drink, go upstairs and find a spot near the railing for some dance space. Highly recommend for an artist you’ve been itching to see.Disclaimer: This only applies to the Serum nights.
All the negative reviews are true. Club is just dirty. Tables had used straws and trash stuck in them. Table was wobbly and sticky. Bottle service girls spilled a ton of the liquor and then laughed about it. If they get a card on file whether for bottle service or at the bar, they will try to overcharge you and charge you without seeing a bill. Luckily, Ive seen these tactics by clubs before and froze my card before I see a bill to then unfreeze it. Prysm tried to charge me twice the amount and came up with some lame excuse that it wouldnt go through...yet why charge 5 separate charges for separate amounts. Ive known people to have the same thing happen at the bar when not getting bottle service.Others must feel the same way as on a Saturday night with a well known DJ in town, they didnt have enough people to even open the top floor. Should have taken that as a sign.On top of that, their bouncers are looking for a fight and started one with me when I had my card frozen because I asked for a bill and they said I just needed to pay. Never will be back to this dump.
Its pricey, but its fun. Definitely a vibe. Had an extremely good time here. The staff wasnt douchey. Everyone was classy and I had nothing but a great experience here. We had a blast. Would absolutely come back.
Long overdue review.Great venue for concerts and truly amazing how much talent they book there. If you ever need bottle service, highly recommend planning it with Raquel. She helped us book our friend’s birthday and even booked a free party bus for us that night.Looking forward to going back this weekend.
Worst club ever. better search other clubs in town. They have no place to rest/sit unless you pay for VIP tables. So you need to keep standing all time...Theyre just there to reap off as much as possible from clients who enter.-No entry once you exit
Had a really creepy and disturbing experience this past weekend since I’m pretty sure one of our drinks got roofied. I read through the reviews to see if anyone had a similar experience and unfortunately a few people have. I thought the staff was nice enough when I was there, but having a total random blackout and seeing I got overcharged is a really violating and deeply disturbing feeling. Be careful and watch these people like a hawk 😭
Prysm is bring all the best music to Chicago ! Lit vibes! Cool atmosphere to dance and Deserees and Mikes service at the bar is top notch!
Hostile environment and staff, no where to stand on the dance floor, no seating area (Unless you pay for bottle service, lmao). I came to see Skream and didn’t find out that he wouldn’t be playing until 1:00 in the morning. The crowd was pretty lame. Won’t be attending again, its a shame this is where some of my favorite artists get booked
I can call this place my second home aside from the MID (RIP). Love everyone from the door to the bus staff. Security has definitely changed since over a year ago from when previous reviews were written. Definitely appreciate them for always making sure I feel safe & same goes for the rest of the staff. I get a lot of ppl asking where to go if they come from other states or out of the country & always tell them PRYSM or N°9. The servers are very attentive & very personable. Shout out to Mae & Mary for making my guests feel so welcomed. Sound system is like no other in the city besides RADIUS. 😉 And the production in this place… just Wowwww. Bravo PRYSM. Can’t wait for all these upcoming 2023 shows! 😎
Been coming here for years and its always a great time - from the popular and local artists who perform to the friendly staff and management - always giving excellent service and genuine care for their patrons. Ive taken a group of friends visiting here from out of town on short notice and the team was able to accommodate us beyond our satisfaction. If youre ever in the city looking for a great time I highly recommend it! Cheers!
Absolutely love this club. Workers are the sweetest! The club is huge. Bartender Aj is amazing.
We purchased tickets to go to an EDM concert at Prysm this weekend. It’s summertime in July and we are from out of town so we didn’t have dress pants, only shorts. We were immediately turned away at the door for wearing shorts (I may add, nice shorts and nice attire) without the any offer to reimburse my tickets since they were purchased through a third party. We were then told in a belittling tone that, maybe we should go to Walmart or Target and buy some pants. At this point I asked to speak to a manager or the owner of the club. The security then pointed out the owner/owners wearing their luxurious multi piece suits standing right inside the door as they shook their heads in denial to speak with us.Prysm to me seems like a small local club that is trying to be something much nicer than it truly is and has chose to exclude paying customers based on their choice to wear shorts in the summer versus pants. The energy, the staff, and treatment of my friends and myself was absolutely unacceptable. I wouldn’t return to Prysm for another concert if they handed out free dress pants at the door. Rave community be warned, this is not the place to be in Chicago.
Worst place you can ever go ..Overpriced drinks, after buying so many drinks I asked the bartender for water and she is like we only give bottled water and you have to pay for it .C’mon , I did not need bottle water , I told her to give her water from the tap but she said she can not, that’s for drinks .What a shame .Dj was okay- kept playing the same music again and again.Overpriced cover charge .Would never recommend .
Place is a disaster...Security didnt check IDs or do any security check (pat down, wand, or anything) could have walked in with a gun. Drinks way overpriced by any higher standard club in Chicago (TAO, Radius). Security put hands on me on the public sidewalk out front they are on a power trip. Unsafe club, especially if you with woman. Will never be back.
I agree with other commenters here that the security seems to be on a power trip which is funny since a child could do their job.
I was there for the Tinlicker concert. I wish they would have had better security, such as metal detectors or wand use. It was way too crowded for my liking and it didnt feel safe if I needed to exit in the case of an emergency.I would also mention that my friend was told he had to put on a shirt with sleeves and that his tank top was unacceptable. Now, granted that was in the dress policy which I later reviewed. I had a collared shirt in my car so I gave that to him but then upon entering the club I noticed that many of the females were wearing spaghetti strap tanks and not much else at times. Doesnt seem very neutral to me....I did enjoy the concert and the acoustics were good.
I used to have good memories of this place! I remembered it to be pretty clean and spacious and open. I went last night for a show and maybe they moved things around but now it feels like a dirty basement. And despite my best efforts to stay alert and keep my purse in front of me and zipped up, someone still managed to steal my phone-- which I know isnt really their fault. I promise, I only had one beer-- so these pickpockets just knew what they were doing. As soon as I felt movement in my bag, I looked down and it was already open and my phone was no longer there. The bartender, his name starts with an M (Max? Matt?) was really sweet and attentive. When I let the first group of staff know that someones stealing phones, they at least seemed concerned about it.But some of the staff was pretty rude about the situation when I was asking them what I should do as I was leaving, just in case they had a protocol or something. I know their job is probably tedious so I made sure to be kind when asking about my phone, and their bad attitude in return was just uncalled for. Also goes to show what kind of people they let in. I didnt feel safe there. If youre a female and want to come here to have a good time, Id at least make sure you use a purse that has a pocket on the inside also secured by a zipper to put your phone in. Or maybe just use a wristlet.Personally, I dont think Ill be coming back for a long time based on the company they let in and most of the security staff. Getting your phone stolen at a place like this is not going to leave a good impression on anyone, let alone dealing with rude staff in the process.
My two friends and I came here this past weekend to see Malaa and we had a fun time and good experience. We were there from about 9:30pm-4:30am and enjoyed every second. The lights and sound system were great, the bass was incredible. Drinks are expensive and the club itself is not as big as you would think but that doesnt mean you cant have a good time. Staff that we had interacted with was helpful too.
Staff were not friendly, over priced drinks. I tried to refill the $7 bottle of water I bought with sink water (to avoid spending another $7 on a bottle) and the bathroom attendant got mad. Uh water should be free. The stage looks nice but the venue is small.. a table is not worth $1,000 I tell you that.
Always a good time - great music, friendly staff, and despite other reviews saying things like “you get a drink for the price of a bottle at the convenience store” the prices are extremely fair compared to almost every other venue in Chicago. Also like having the option of different music in No.9 upstairs!
Beyond disappointed that I rushed here after Lolla for an advertised after party which I paid $60+ for a ticket for, stayed almost 3 hours, then left without ever seeing the advertised performer. Like at least if you’re going to make everyone wait 3+ hours for an act be explicit about the timing so I can go somewhere else first. I wasted money drinking here for 3 hours when I could’ve enjoyed somewhere else. Also the bartenders upstairs were absorbed in their phones every time I went to order and seemed annoyed that I would dare order a drink from them. I won’t be back here, even for a normal night.
The staff is very unfriendly and treated us as if we were not welcome to the place. They also overcharged us. After we entered inside, the vibe was off and the dance floor was empty. Not a fun music. I don’t recommend this place, not worth the money.
Great experience, friendly service, great vibe, music was excellent.
PRYSM Chicago Nights at all costs! The club was poorly managed. The dance floor was overcrowded, making it impossible to move or enjoy the music. The staff seemed indifferent to the customers needs. Save yourself from this disappointment and find a better club.
Amazing venue!! Went for the first time last night and immediately loved the place! Staff and security made us feel very safe and well taken care of. Some reviews say it’s overpriced but it’s priced JUST RIGHT for the experience! High end/professional feel, yet totally laid back. Definitely coming back soon!
Sean and Rocky hooked me up big time! Great customer support and the security staff were on point whenever they saw split drinks/any disturbances. Had a great time seeing Sickick and Madds!!🤍🪩🎉
Look. With all due respect. We all have our own opinions and I value that. In my perspective. This is an amazing night life experience. Ive traveled to many places in the world. And I belive this is as beautiful as a venue as there is. Especially in Chicago. . The Staff is always amazing. Bartenders are always respectful and forthcoming . One particular gentleman at the door, named Anthony, is always accommodating, as well as all the others Ive came in contact. The security guys are always very personal and Accommodatig . Music is always on point and the atmosphere is Simply electric. If your looking for a place In Chicago where you can get it all and leave with a positive memorable night..this is the spot to receive this at. Thank you all for all the wonderful past memories and the future ones to come. Godless you all. Keep up the AMAZING WORK! ❤️🕺🙏🎊
Literally drove 5 hours to see Sickick last night and was turned away at the door cause my husband was wearing shorts...to a rave. Meanwhile Im literally pantsless. . Weve had our tickets for 3 months and it was my husbands birthday. Super bogus, Prysm. Never going to this venue again.
If you want a night out with friends with the topic music scene in the city and an amazing experience I would definitely recommend coming here. The hospitality is amazing and they really know how to run the club. I’d most definitely recommend coming here if you’re interested in bottle service with their recent remodel
This venue is a TOTAL SCAM. A popular Tropical House DJ (Jonas Blue) was advertised to perform at 10:00 PM. Bought two tickets weeks in advance, and I naively waited until 1:30 AM, but the artist didn’t show up. Staff and security is incredibly elitist and pretentious, but for nothing at all. If you want to pay for $15 for a well cocktail or $7 for a bottle of water, then this is the place to go! Website states a specific dress code, that I prepared for, but you can honestly get by with college fraternity party attire. They’ll let anyone in, especially if you’re drunk enough in advance to get conned by this crooked establishment.
We had an amazing time seeing Two Friends at this club. Jecca and Rocky did an excellent job hosting us in the VIP area. Thank you for an incredible experience!
Do not go to this club and buy bottle service this place is a scam. I purchased a bottle for $500 and when I was intoxicated the bottle service girl ran my card for $1000 for the bottle of Jose then decided to give herself an $800 tip and then tried to charge an additional $2500 and my card but fortunately, my card was declined for suspicion. When trying to reach out to management I heard nothing back from phone calls and emails after several attempts. I am sending this to the attorney generals office and BBB. This place will get you drunk and scam you.
Do not go! I went with my husband on an official Valentines Date, to pregame (first stop of the night,). A drunk girl bumped into me which I didnt care, because I was there to enjoy the holiday. She knocked into me and spilled my drink all over my dress and hair. I didnt say anything because I was trying to have a damn good time! It was a Celebration of love!! But later as I was ordering my replacement drink and broadcasting my fun times to my friends she attacked me...after the attack I held on to a security guard, he was a heavier set black man and he just let me hold him. I was so scared, but he should get a 5 🌟 review... bouncer says just wait.....went back to the bar and stood there asking if I can call 911 and they said 911 cant help because I was kicked out for fighting..a brunette manager (I think) said rules say anyone who fights has to leave......so my husband and I had to find a place where I wouldnt get beat up by a drunk strangerUpdate*** I pressed battery chargers....DO NOT LET A BULLY WIN
A lynch level of evil. oversold mid sized venue with no metal detectors, a security slumber party. hundreds of people, packed, some smoking cigs inside, while the bartenders automatically add a 20% tip to each bill. laughable spot just waiting for something bad to happen. yikes.
Idk if they tried to scrape some extra money post quarantine but -prysm- used to be super fun -number 9- added MORE vip tables where the main dance floor was so it made the dance floor extra small and now the place sucks. It made sense when most of the vip tables were up top and on the outside but now the club is just small clusterf**k that’s trashy
5 stars all day every day. This is one of THE BEST clubs on CHI hands down no questions asked. Anyone commenting is either a chump or dork because the staff and service was lights out for our party. If you want to have a great time. Come here.
DO NOT GO! I have heard great things about this place but once we got there it went down. We got a table for Bach party where we chose the bottles listed in the menu that was sent to us prior arrival via text and given to us in person. Once we chose the bottles, Waitress came back mentioning that the bottle which chose which is on menu for $1500 is actually $3000 now. We asked where does it say, they told us the menu changed and they dont have a new menu yet its not here. Out of whole entire menu they only had one thing changed, one bottle that we order which felt like they were doing it on purpose to make more money. Understand the point of it from business point of view but thats trash of a service you are providing to customer by doing it in such way. Music was up and down multiple times as the DJs kept changing. Vibe was great but this Shady business made me not like this place at all.
I always have so much fun when I go to PRYSM, they usually bring the best djs and the sound is great. I’ve seen some of my favorites over there with exclusive sets. I never had any issues with staff or security. I just wish the place was a little bigger tho.
Hard to imagine the city without a place like this — starting with the atmosphere and quality of sound. I couldn’t find a venue that had any acoustic treatment like Prysm. The sound system is something you see in very few venues around the world (Funktion One). Tons of memories and what it’s like to experience Chicago at its best…
Probably some of the rudest employees I’ve ever encountered. I would not go here. It’s not fun and the employees, especially coat check, make it that much worse.
The best club in the city. Sound system, vibes, and workers always make coming here a blast.
Prysm has the best Djs at this venue. The staff is very friendly and professional. It’s nice to have a dress code because it makes me appreciate going out. I recommend taking an Uber. They are also open on other nights in another room called #9 on Sundays & Mondays, which can be convenient if you didn’t have Fri/Sat off to party. Whooohoooo!!!!
Paid money for a fraternity event to go here and wasn’t let in. the bouncers are on a power trip. DO NOT GO HERE
First and last time at PRYSM. Small dance floor and terribly crowded. Cant really dance like you would want to. This nightclub brings a very uppity college age range type of crowd. Most of the people there were just standing around on the dance floor taking selfies or standing around cliqued up with their peers, very few people were there to dance and have a good time.Later on in the morning (around 1:30 AM), thats when the people begin to dance but since the dance floor is so small - expect to be constantly bumped/shoved around.I bought my ticket for $15 online so I cant complain about the prices, and I didnt drink at the bar.
We paid 1387 for the VIP table, and my friends went out for a smoke and they were kicked out of the club for no reason, I think to free up our table because we closed the account but danced more
Drinks were great, staff was on point and the DJ was phenomenal! It felt like I was at a rave at one point yet they still managed to keep things classy. Security was nice, just make sure to be courteous. Respect is a two way street.
Worst experience for a show. I typically look at the positives for reviews but this was very disappointing. Our group purchased tickets months ago we stood in a line for over 30 minutes while they let people walk in buy tickets at the front door while we stood outside. Security would not let us even get remotely close to see the artist, saying we were too close to the tables. Men’s bathroom is upstairs it’s very crowded in there. Drinks were expensive and not good. I would not recommend coming to this “venue” we left after being inside for 20min.
I was shoved hard several times and each time it was by an employee bussing a table. I recognize that it was packed but there is no need to male employees to be aggressive towards women or anyone honestly. Sound system is muddy and their crowd management is horrible. The amount of people in there seems unsafe especially now. Glasses at the tables looked moist and dirty definitely not worth it. Employees seem stressed and overworked.
Complete garbage for an electronic music venue. Dance floor is so small, this is not a place for those looking to dance the night away. Drinks are outrageously expensive when they’re giving you the cheap stuff, served in a tiny glass, and by the least experienced bartenders. They think that having a big screen and some lights will get anyone to come back but obviously the 2 star rating is accurate. Go to Spybar or basically anywhere else if you’re looking to have fun and not just sit on some couch watching the dj.
This was my first time here. I loved the variety of music that was played. It was mostly hip hop, dance, and electronic music. The bottle service was great. We had the table behind the DJ booth which was the best spot to be in my opinion. The go-go dancers were great dancers and loved their costumes. The only thing I’d like to have is more space for dancing. Most of the venue is tables, so unless you’ve got one, you’re going to be dancing and standing in the main walkways.
MOST RACIST PLACE EVER ….unfortunately I have encountered the racism from management several time not just once ! First time me my spouse my sister and her boyfriend went and where told we couldn’t get in never explained why mind you once again we came from a wedding so we had very expensive dress clothes on was told No entry literally all because I was with my family whose BLACK so now recently again we booked a table in advance at the No. 9 upstairs to ensure we would get in..750 deposit not including the money we where going to spend for bottle service once we got there we where denied access inside or a refund. I over heard some staff speaking upset saying this is not okay asking questions why and I over heard someone said The managers John and Danny told them No entry for us because we were black and not dressed right (mind you we had dress clothes on like usual ) … If your of BROWN or BLACK decent I DO NOT recommend you go here and have to experience such racist and horrid treatment from management I feel sorry for the staff who constantly have to tell customers NO Entry knowing the real reason behind it is because the color of their skin
This club has some pretty transphobic staff who chose to target a friend of mine while we were attending a show there. They need to re-evaluate their l dress code policy. It states that they will apply it in a “gender-neutral” manner but that was not the case last night. Honestly not a queer and trans friendly venue at all.
Apparently paying 120 dollars for open bar isnt enough since the (bottom floor) bartenders refuse to serve you if you dont tip
Skip it, go literally anywhere else. If youre getting bottle service paid for by some viagra triangle goons this could be an enjoyable experience but if you go to clubs for I dont know... clubbing, youll be disappointed
Garbage. Bouncers have a real ego. Go anywhere else.
****This is a review for anyone considering a table at No.9****If I could leave ZERO stars I would. Don’t bother coming to this place. Even if you get a table and bottles they rip you off. They have been deleting our reviews because they won’t have own up to disrespecting us and STEALING from us. They kicked us out from our table we were seated at almost an hour late and our bottles were still full (that weren’t served to us until another forty minutes passed mind you). The second we paid they were like bye Felicia. So don’t pay until the end of your time. Better yet. Don’t go here at all. Go somewhere better. The city is big and there is plenty of options. I won’t be coming here or to prysm any longer.
Been there for the first time ! Never going back! Me and my friends reserved a table for an concert , they didn’t explain the whole thing till the day before the concert , then ending paying 2000$ for 2,5 h . The artist was there for 1hour and they closed the club after that. Who does that?! Too small, there is no space to dance. Very bad communication with their costumers.👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 Better spend your money somewhere else!!!
No place to sit, you have to pay 900 dollars to sit down, and the employees will egg you on saying whats the matter you cant afford it?? worst place I ever been to hands down. Also paid 28 dollars for vodka cranberry which was nothing but ice and cranberry. 0 stars if I could. DO NOT GO HERE, the owners and staff are completely void of any morals.
Was a fun time with my friends but they dont serve free accessible water. So for that I have to give it a low score. It is a very unsafe environment.
Table for DJ Mustard. Wouldnt let us in until the credit card was given, wouldnt pour us a drink until the credit card cleared. Literally took over 30 minutes before they poured us a drink. Once the credit card owner left the table, took our booze away and sold the table to another group. I poured my own drinks half the night and was in on the table too. Wont do it again. Thats service? Can go anywhere for a nice night out. Treated us like we were going to cheat them and then threw us out as soon as the credit card holder left. Never again. Club is a smaller version of Mid. Rather have the service than deal with this nonsense. They have much to learn. DJ Mustard killed it though so at least their talent buyer is doing right.
My friends and I come here a lot and always have the best time! Servers go above and beyond to make the night special and security is always on it and respectful. There’s not many clubs with this good of vibe these days
The service was decent! But tonight lots of third world ppl😂😂Sorry
Love Prysm! I’ve been going there for years, it’s my go to mostly because they play all the EDM subgenres, depending on the artists who is headlining. Bartenders are great and just love the environment.
Seriously disappointed in our trip here. $1000 minimum for terrible tables and service, staff messed up our reservation then continued to bring out waters without telling us it was $7 a fricken bottle which resulted in $100 FOR WATER. Security is beyond rude and just ruined our whole night. Literally you’d be better off going ANYWHERE else.
Pros: Attentive bartender, good lights and screen, friendly folksCons: Sketchy admission policy, pricey bar, crowded and cramped dance floor, late headliner start time, rude individuals in staff, flying drinks, you name it!Please wait to see your favorite artists at another venue!
We must have attended a wild houseparty that night...The guests were heavily intoxicated or stoned,The music didnt quite match our taste,And the service was downright rude
Had a great time at this spot. Staff was friendly, drinks werent too overpriced and the sound was incredible. If youre looking for a great spot to party on weekends and stay classy, go check it out. I recommend buying tickets to whatever is playing that night to avoid lines OR if you have a little cash the door guys becomes your friend. Money talks!
Terrible. The party was great but the staff was horrible. Denying tap water when people need it speaks very poorly about the staff and the club. Moreover, the staff keeps harassing you for tips even when you are allready thinking about tipping them.
I visited this club for the first time this weekend and was pleased with the accommodations. The sounds were very clear and crisp, the air condition turned up a sufficient amount, and the visuals great. The dj didnt draw a huge crowd, but that didnt make the experience any less enjoyable. I think I enjoyed the classy atmosphere the most.
To begin with, bouncers were extremely friendly, we did have a table reservation though. Once inside things got very very crowded, it took a solid 3 minutes to walk from the entrance to the front, and you had to push your way though. I consider this extreme crowding to be caused by the large space that the reserved tables take up, but it is what it is. Overall we had an alright time. Drinks are a bit pricy, its a fancy club so dress to impress, and overall the light show and layout were really nice. If you have the money to spend, dont mind crowded spaces, and enjoy EDM this is the place to be.
This place is the worst. Drinks were insanely overpriced. $18 for a vodka cocktail?? Also, inconsistent drinks. ONE bathroom per gender for the entire club. The line for the men’s bathroom was about 50-60 guys easily. Coat check is a joke. It took over 40 minutes to get my coat and there were only 15 people ahead of me. Never again.
I had one of the best nights of my life here. Its a really good place to let your hair down. The music is always great. The parties here are wild. But be careful with the amount they charge you for your drinks. They have been known to overcharge if you keep the tab open.
Staff was rude. They hosted an after party for a festival but they dont even have dance floors really lol either pay 350 to sit at a booth or dance in the way in between booths lol staff was picking and choosing girls based on looks to get to go to booths. I went to go dance to house music and instead was in a room full of dudes in business suites that dont even like house lol weird vibe overall.
The bottle service bouncer had a power trip and threatened to forcefully remove my girlfriend and I (quotes were his exact words, despite the fact we were just hanging out with our group, nobody was acting up). We left to go to the bathroom and the rest of our group was still at the table when we got back so he basically tried to kick us out for the fun of it. I assumed the whole group was being asked to leave (for a reason unbeknownst to me). Probably never going back. Spend your money elsewhere
$7 bottle of water. I guess that’s expected. If you want to kinda dance this is the spot for you. No one was going all out, but you saw a good amount of two step dancers. Bathrooms are clean. I would go back if I strongly had the need to listen to dance music.
Went here for my bachelorette party and wish we would have gone somewhere else. They asked us if we had tickets when we got there even though it said nothing on their website about having tickets for that night. When they saw we were going to leave and go somewhere else they let us in without having to buy tickets. When we got in there it was just a regular DJ, no one was having a concert. The drinks were expensive for what you get. I only had fun because I was with my girls.
It was a group of us. We called ahead. We didnt have to wait outside. We had bottle service. The staff was very attentive. I got too drunk and was escorted out, which isnt a problem except the guy wasnt communicating with anyone. He said, Come with me. Drunk me was slow to respond. Then he grabbed me by the elbow and pulled me away. When the group came around to inquire what was going on, he didnt speak to them and didnt give me time to speak to them. Outside was exactly what I needed, the fresh air and less noise was much better for drunk me but the guy didnt tell me anything. I didnt know if I could go back in if I wanted. I didnt know if he was trying to be nice out mean. He was a little physical but wasnt intimidating. He came off as rushed more than anything.
The club was nice but they had the RUDEST bartender ever! The lady w the messed up lip injections took forever to finally take my order (after I asked her twice when I was right in front of her and she walked away) then she had the AUDACITY to call me back and ask for a tip when I was leaving! I heard others complain about her too. All other bartenders were friendly & fast except her.
Always a great time, with a great variety of music and artists. Staff is super friendly, and accommodating. Honestly i don’t think any other club in Chicago competes.
Bouncers got bullied in high school and now think they’re cops
Worst chicago music venue Ive ever been to. Saw a guy laying on the ground not doing a thing extremely inoffensive & getting punched heavily by three security guards. What is that? I understand they have to do their job but why not call the police instead & let them handle it. Disgusting behavior from an upscale nightclub. You would think the service would be high above average but every single staff member i encountered was disrespectful and rude. Dont waste your time at this place if you want to have a fun night out. Take your business elsewhere. If I could give -5 stars I would.
I went to the after party for Russ and had an amazing time. Not once did I feel uncomfortable or disrespected by the bouncers. I needed to charge my phone and asked every bouncer I saw if they had a charger and each respectfully said they didn’t have one, until I went up to the hostess stand and she let my boyfriend and I charge our phones for about an hour while we went off and danced. One of the bouncers led us upstairs to use the restroom and when we came out, we sat in an empty VIP booth for a good 5 minutes without getting in trouble and then the bouncer walked up to us, laughed and kindly asked us to go downstairs. I went really late around 12 which it started at 10 so we got in easily, the only downside I’d say is that drinks are expensive but it’s chicago so we expected it
Garbage. Don’t waste your money! Spend it elsewhere so this place gets the picture! All of the positive reviews are clearly staff, performers or paid for in some way.
Were not accommodating with dress code whatsoever after we came to the night club after North Coast Music Festival. They made us change our wardrobe on three different occasions and still did not let us in. Yeah we understand that the club has a dress but when you have several North Coast people buying after party tickets you would think they would be a bit more lenient with the wardrobe because a lot of the people are standing for about 6 hours in more comfortable clothes. I have never had a problem like this before and will never go back to Prysm again.
Don’t go here if you’re visiting Chicago spend your money somewhere better, $14 for a small drink, front door staff had bad attitudes, no re entry if you leave for anything expect smoking.Only plus side was the bathroom attendant.
My Allen bhaiya aka trifecta.records held an event with PRYSM.
The venue is alright. A bit small. Drinks are are overpriced. Took a photo of the outside and the staff told me to delete it because they “dont allow” photos of the outside, which might be one of the dumber things someone has ever said to me. I didn’t delete it.
Checked out industry night ($20 cover)Got reamed for spilling half a beer (no glass broken)Later got told area was not a dance floor, bouncer (Im sure unintentionally) knocked my beer of my hand (lol spilled the other half) wouldnt replace it.Our group decided to leave. WORST industry night spot
I will never go again and I hope for the failure of this club. My own personal experience was waiting in line for hours to get into a club that I couldnt move in only to lose my wallet at the end of the night. This wallet was very valuable to me because it was given to me by my deceased grandfather and also had personal notes that I valued in it as well. The next morning I reached multiple times on the phone, emailed them, sent messages on insta and facebook expressing why this wallet meant so much to me and got nothing in response. To add insult to injury I saw that they read my messages. Regardless of me losing my wallet this place deserve to be shut down for number one the lack of care from the staff in general. Two the crazy drink prices. Finally, third the gross almost fake vibe that theyre trying to sell to people. The people that run the place are thieves.
IF YOU’RE THINKING OF BUYING A TABLE: DONT!!! If I could leave zero stars, I would. Not only we’re we double charged ($1200 extra dollars) but we were BLOCKED BY MANAGEMENT. They literally blocked us and won’t answer us anymore. You’ve been warned!
Door staff are always friendly, venue is great if they have big artists playing, bartenders are attentive and nice. I always have a good time
Have been to four after parties the weekend of North Coast and ARC. This was by far the worst. Starting with the oversold Camelphat show, then the pushy and rude waitresses in yellow bikini tops and all their men in black suits that accompany them. Lets also not forget that buddy had a champagne flute drop on his head from patrons upstairs. Plus one for the decent lights/sound, but it doesnt quite make up for all the rest.
Good music but very disorganized staff. They gave my credit card and ID to someone else and we had to track them down to get it back. They also played games with us at our table in order to create confusion and double charged us on our table by collecting multiple credit cards. Bunch of scam artists work at this place. Beware!!
Went here on Halloween with a bunch of kids I go to school with. It was the designated spot for the evening, which is why we all went. The place itself was cool, but a bit overcrowded. The bartenders werent very nice. One of the bartenders told my friend that she had to buy a bottle of water (as opposed to providing her with water from the soda gun). When my friend told the bartender she was legally obliged to provide water free of charge, she rolled her eyes and begrudgingly provided a glass of water. It was a sub-par customer experience, but certainly an easy thing to fix!
I got escorted out with no warning and when I walked out hoping to talk out the misunderstanding, the employee disrespected me and pretended to not hear me. When I asked to talk to management he told security to get me off the property. Even the security guard was confused. Before walking in I waited in line with my already bought ticket(I was the 10th person) I waited half an hour and thought they mightve sold too many tickets and were over capacity. When coming in I was surprised that there werent that many people. They were simply creating a fake line to make the club look poppin. The inside is actually nice and maybe I just had bad luck with that one staff member but in the end I spent almost 50 bucks for my ticket (standard pricey nightclub drinks) and didnt even have a chance to ask for a refund or anything. Very disappointing.
Oh !!!Worst serving i ever had !I did pay 40$ for the entrance , bartenders ... just ignored me and my friends ...Later on ... i got kicked off the location for no reason... just because they thought so ...Waited outside for my jacket in a t-short 5 minutes ... in 30 degrees :|Would not recomand ...
The best club in Chicago, I can always count on having a good night at this club. Kat is an amazing server and always ensures that me and my girls have a fantastic time :) Prysm always provides the best DJ performances in the city.
I celebrated my 21st birthday here last year and it was a blast! I went back this weekend to celebrate my friends 21st and it wasn’t the same experience. I was walking towards the stage and one of the security guards backed up into me. My drink spilled on to me and I was like what the hell! So my boyfriend said “can we get a refund?” And the security guard said no. I was wet and half my drink was gone. He could have at least gotten me another drink or even APOLOGIZED. I guess you’re only treated with respect when you get bottle service. Pathetic.
Six months ago I gave this place 4 stars.Since the remodel the club is more crowded, they took away one of the bathrooms for some reason? The line to no 9 is now in the building instead of outside which is a dumb move to get people asking “what’s the line for” and just makes for less space. The worst thing I’d say is when you ask for a water bartenders charge you $7 for a small bottled water and when you ask for tap water they refuse. I’m told no to tap water..... I’m unsure how they can get away with this at a place where alcohol is only served but unfortunately a deal breaker for me and lost my business.
SCAM ALERT! Place is a scam!! Thought I was buying a 400$ bottle. me and friends drank it, blacked out, and the next day looked at my bank and they charged me a 1000$ For a 400$ bottle 600$ different from the menu and then a week later when it finalized the bottle service girl took 500$ without my knowledge. confirmed with people I’m there that we only got one bottle. Couldn’t get ahold of anyone for a receipt.
Went for the Bassjackers. Probably wont be back...Two narrow aisleways to get to the dancefloor. The bar is facing one of them, so with all the people crowding to get drinks, its difficult to get through. Wasnt impressed with the dancefloor or the stage. Seemed basic for the cover charge. Not many areas to take a break either. No problems with service. Just didnt like the venue itself and thought it was overpriced.
SECURITY: Was polite and no nonsense. As long as you are respectful, theyre nice.DRINKS: Overpriced. I bought two shots of rail tequila and it was $20.VENUE: The setting is nice. The bathrooms are nice.MUSIC: I dont like House music. I actually loathe House music, but I came on a night they played Trap music, and I find it **REFRESHING** that an EDM club isnt constantly playing House music every night all the time. Now, the PEOPLE: The venue was jampacked. I highly disliked the people. People were constantly running into me. **I came alone.** I found an open space and tried to plant myself in the one spot I could dance and just enjoy the music, but people were constantly shoving into me or pushing past me, without an excuse me or even a pat on the back to politely get my attention. There were VERY FEW people who were actually there to enjoy the music or dance. It seemed to be crowded with mostly people who wanted to be seen, or cause a scene. I was right up against the flimsy, retractable rail headbanging to a rather nasty Trap song and the group of girls up there were very annoyed with me. Why are you even at the rail, girls? Why???OVERALL: I enjoyed the venue, but they could do with some nicer clientele. **Classy clothes does not equate to classy people.** I think PRSYM is a split personality and needs to just decide which one to stick with. EDM Club or Fancy Club.
I will never go to this night club again. If I could give 0 stars I would. I was so excited to see DJ Pauly D, and when I got there, the bouncer could not be more rude to my friends and I. I wanted to enter the bar with my cousin and he would not let me for some reason. He made it a point to let in any other person before me. When I got inside, the bartenders were incompetent. Someone stole my phone and wallet. Someone stole my cousins entire purse. You could not pay me to go to Prysm night club again. Worst experience of my life. When I asked the bartender if they had seen a wallet or purse they said no without even looking.
This place is KNOWN for drugging your drinks if you’re doing bottle service. It happened to us and was later confirmed by an ex-employee. They drugged us, overcharged us, and then kicked us out and there was nothing we could do about it because we couldn’t prove it. I repeat, THE STAFF WILL DRUG YOU. DO NOT GO HERE.
I would put negative stars if I could. I am 10000% positive we were ROOFIED by the staff. That’s their game. They tell you one price for a table- put something in the drinks so you’re so drunk you just sign whatever. ALL of my friends (who can handle their liquor) have the same story the next day of “I only had a drink or two... what happened?” I had HALF a drink and was completely out of my mind. They charged us an insane amount for bottles we NEVER BOUGHT and completely got away with it. I’m shocked that I even would have that experience at a place that is suppose to be professional. BEWARE. This place should be shut down.
Came here for rl grime to celebrate a going away for a couple friends. Sound bar is a far more impressive venue for edm concerts compared to prysm, and that’s not something you want to be.Reason #1 : they waited til right before rl grime came on before they finally started moving the lineReason #2: I’m not an expert at this but it felt like they oversold the venue a bit. Way too cramped to have a good timeReason #3: this club does not attract a good crowd. People cutting each other in line, girls pushing other girls because they don’t care about others, and just all around not good vibes you’d want if you’re spending a Saturday night with friends.I am never coming here again. Prysm will never get a dollar from me ever again in my life.
Love this place, great music and fun vibe, Des and Mike always keep it real!
Hands down the best spot in Chicago whether you live here or are just visiting! A+ staff service all around from bartenders to doormen to management. Keep it up guys!
It is absolutely true about the bartenders. They will ignore you and steal your money. If you think about buying a drink with a credit card, please think again. I bought one drink ($14) and I left a dollar tip but for some reason, I was charged $20. LOL!? PRYSM do you even do background checks on the people you hire? Apparently not because they commit fraud!
The staff here was incredibly rude and constantly wanted to boss us around. Right from the Restroom Staff giving a paper towel like they’re doing you a big service, to them cutting our event short because there were lesser people (even though we had the venue reserved for longer)The staff does not understand customer service
Music is ridiculously loud in the main area. Upstairs in the den is much better and way more enjoyable. Main room seems to be solely catered to edm fans. $5 charge for Fiji water which is the only water option.
The girls and the big brothers are so nice at the front! They are really cool. I just cant understand why there are so many accusations here!Maybe its just the manager, maybe hes under a lot of pressure? The shorter man? Middle East guy? Idk!You should happily and nicely!
A bunch of tools with too much wannabe “power”. I went with 3 of my gorgeous girls and wouldn’t let anyone in even people who prepaid. Lots of people were coming out but they still wouldn’t let anyone in. They need stop drinking Red Bull get off your high horse and just let people have fun. I will NEVER come back here!
Worst staff Ive ever met at a nightclub. Ive traveled to Chicago from Iowa several times and have been to many different clubs, and Ive never been treated so poorly than I did when I came here for the 3LAU show. The doormen were arrogant and cold, and the women cocktail waitresses were extremely snooty, while running into them getting ready in the restroom. Save your money and choose a nightclub that is going to create incredible memories and a vibe that is unforgettable ... which isnt this place. Its very unfortunate as I traveled many hours in a snow storm to see one of my favorite djs and it was a gift to me from my boyfriend for my birthday.
Received confirmation email that I was on the guest list. Got turned away at the door that I wasnt on the list. Drove 2 hours picking up my friends to go. We ended up going to Roscoes instead and had a blast. $5 cover and no highend dress code.
Absolutely one of my favorite clubs in the city, never fails to have a good time. The promoter courtney took real good care of my friends and me for my birthday. Bouncers have helped my friends plenty of times and have gone above what they needed to do.
Such a frustrating venue. They have some good acts from time to time but the layout is so stupid. I don’t know how you can call yourself a nightclub when there isn’t even a dancefloor. Their layout is worse than the Mid’s. VIP tables down the middle of the floor so if you’re not getting bottle service, you’re packed like sardines into aisles.
I were there for first time to see Gareth Emery.. place was super packed - not a problem for me at all.. however- when we went out for a cigarette they told my BFF he have to go and he is not welcome to come back.. I asked them why? What is going on, and they told me he is too drunk, but I can stay if I want.. WHAT??He was our driver, and drunk just one drink that night - I was drinking way way more and I was ok to stay? Come on guys!!!
Unbelievable stafff by far the worst experience ever. Staff was unbelievably aggressive and they automatically started pushing and shoving with absolutely no cause. Took full advantage of their authority and did not care much for their appearance or actions. Warning to all, staff is absolutely the worst here .
I went there to enjoy some trance djs, the music was great, but for the first time in my experience the club atmosphere was so awful I couldnt enjoy it and had to leave after I waited at least 30min in the coat check line to get my coat back It was a total mob scene of pretentious douchebags; I mean completely congested with the shittiest jersey Shore types you can imagine. I could go on, but I just want to forget about it.
