So thrilled to finally get to see a show here. Lived up to all of my expectations from all the stories Ive heard from CO natives. its a small venue but it works out so great to make you feel like youre up close no matter where you are in the crowd. It does get hot in the building so if you can bring a fan or dress accordingly.
Absolutely excellent! Great small indoor venue, has clean restrooms, reasonably priced drinks and even though it claims standing room only, there are small benches along each wall to get it a sit down if you need it. Couldnt recommend this venue enough, and of course they held the show for Slothrust, so they get extra brownie points!
Great venue to see the music i love! The sound is always on point, and you can see the band from anywhere in the venue. I have seen nekrogoblikon there twice! The drinks are reasonably priced. The staff is always respectful, and sometimes they give away free tickets for upcoming show if youre lucky. They have a wide variety of national acts and very good locals that perform there.
Absolutely amazing venue! Went and saw both Bear Ghost and The Crane Wives, and it was just spectacular! Highly recommend everyone goes to see a show here!
Black sheep is my favorite venue I’ve been to after 38 venues the last few years. The staff is incredible, the shows are amazing and I always feel so safe and respected in their space! Added bonus is vultures is right next door and has amazing food!
Was in town from Denver for a show. Door staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional. The lady bartender was awful. Guy bartender was great. I ordered a tequila and soda tall and was automatically charged for a double. I had no problem with this, however; i was watching the bartender (feminine brunette) pour the drink and, after tasting said drink; was definitely not a double. When I said I wanted a refund, the bartender was horribly confrontational about the situation and could not figure out how to give me a proper refund. I just wanted to get what I actually ordered. Friends with members of the band and I really enjoyed the show and the sound was great. The staff completely fudged the experience. Please train them.
We had a really great time here. I appreciated how thorough security was with checking purses and coats. I just felt safer and able to enjoy the rock show. The bartenders were really nice. The sound was great 😊
Great music venue that gets touring acts consistently and most shows are all ages. They have respectful and thorough security at all of their shows, a great staff and a sister venue next door called Vultures where you can get food before and after shows.
Disco night was so much fun! It was impossible to sit down because the music was so good. There were plenty of places to sit, I just didnt want to. All I wanted to do was dance.
I saw clutch on may 1st and it was an amazing experience. The Black Sheep was the perfect place for such an awesome concert. Its a large space with a great view of the stage from almost any spot. I would go there again for sure!
The space itself was nice but the sound was so bad. Couldnt hear vocals at points, guitar was soft, and drums didnt sound micd. Waited a long time to see Bear Ghost and they were great but really disappointed by the sound crew.
The best music venue this city has to offer, and the second best is Vultures, which is right next to, and affiliated with the Sheep. I have seen so many great shows here since moving to Colorado Springs from Wisconsin two years ago.I would also like to put out a huge shout out to Whats Left Records and the Bryan Ostrow for getting fabulous acts to play there. This city would suck with him and his brothers dedication to the scene.
Only been here once but i love this place!!! great staff, great stage, not too loud (but the sound carries great), and easily accessible free water!!just make sure that if youre leaving, youre sure youre leaving, theyre very strict about re-entry (and no re-entry is allowed for minors at all)
I love The Black Sheep and its staff. They are professional and friendly. They protect concert goers and go above and beyond to make sure everyone is safe and is comfortable in a crowd.I was just at the a metal show and so e guy showed up drunk and saying hateful slang terms. This was stopped immediately and that guys was removed. Adam and the reat of the security did an amazing job. They remain professional when that situation could have ended badly. Thank you Black Sheep for being the best damn venue on the Springs!
Its an okay venue that gets a lot of lesser known bands which is awesome. Its got some serious issues though such as: genuinely bad acoustics, over the top security, greedy bartenders, terrible traffic flow, and parking just doesnt exist. This makes it a pretty crumby place to see a show and I question why its so popular.
Getting close to the stage is easy. The right side of venue has a ledge you can sit or stand on. This section is a good place for people that cant stand that long. When the artists start to perform people start to crowd up like every place, but is manageable. They offer alcohol drinks but didnt check the prices. The bathroom lines kinda long so if you got to go go when you get in. I like seeing bands here being feet away from the artists and the sound isnt over powering. Only took video here & quality sounds pretty good.
I have always enjoyed the black sheep over the last couple decades, love the support of a lot of my favorite bands, but seems like the sound is off lately. I recently took some friends of mine to see strung out and we had our ears blown out. The openers sounded good, but when strung out played it was piercing. I like loud but without bass its like broken glass.
I like going to see live music, but Im short and can never see. The acoustics arent that great either. That said, the bathrooms and bar are always clean, the staff is always fantastic, and security is on point.
Very nice and respectful venue. They care about their performers and their atendees. The drinks were amazing and the staff was great and efficient. Will definitely be back.
We attend concerts & live music whenever we travel, and we look for smaller venues because of their intimate approach to music environments. The Black Sheep definitely brings that intimate vibe to live music.Very cool side bar, the vibe is a grungy warehouse experience with incredible sound & lighting.Definitely a must for live music! ✌️
If I could leave a negative rating, I would. The show was great, staff was horribly rude. I will never come back to a concert at this venue.
Always a good time at the sheep. Miss the high tables or bar stools. Like the new water keg.The staff being constantly over it gets old when it’s the job they chose…. but I guess that’s the charm. lol
Went to see Overtime. He was great, but I really enjoyed Big Murph, if I spelled that right. Good place to catch live performances.
This nosey security guard kicked out 2 young girls out of the show before it started when the young girls wasn’t harming anyone or anything because the nosey security guard wanted to put his nose in other peoples business that has nothing to do with keeping the fans safe!!!!! He should be ashamed of himself and the disappointment and tears from these girls that spent most of the day preparing for this event!!!! I will never suggest this venue or security guard to anyone ever again!! And btw he was rude and disrespectful and broke these kids hearts!!!! And no refund before the show started just sad!!! And this bully of a thug took property from them and he has no right to do that either!!
First time at this venue. The building was clean and had lots of room/seating. The staff is what impressed me the most! First off, loved that they had plenty of security. But also, the Security were so welcoming and respectful as soon as we walked in. I felt very safe as they were inside the venue and outside monitoring everything. The bar staff was the best Ive seen. They provided prompt service, and we never had to wait as multiple bartenders asked if we were being helped. Will definitely be back!
Has been for over 20 years a good place to see live performances by all genres of musical acts. From underground to international bands.I performed there with my garage band almost 2 decades ago, so some nostalgia involved.Just saw one of the all time great pioneering death metal bands Obituary play last week, with some talented opening acts.Loved it.Seedy, sweaty fun.No social distancing whatsoever.
Great place to see a concert. The security staff could be a little more professional and not so rude.
Your FIVE bouncers JUMPED my little brother (25yo) SATURDAY NIGHT…. Broken nose, staples in head, broken eye socket. Charged will be Pursued.*May 18th 2024* day of Incident.Hard cause this used to be his favorite honestly a risk returning to this establishment unfortunately!
Very fun show! Good atmosphere. As for beer and seltzer etc, they only offer in aluminum cans (no taps). Only problem with that is that they throw all the empty aluminum cans directly into their trash rather than recycling. So they get a big F from me for not doing their part to help the environment. Aluminum is 100% recycleable. So in the year 2023 it is completely inexcusable for a business like this that goes thru many hundreds of cans at every show to not recycle them.
Always hosts the best shows. Amazing venue
Dope venue, good staff, cool scene. Futuristic and gremlin put on a great show.
Personal, affordable, and close by. Honestly couldnt ask for more! Love the variety of artists they get here!
Im sure the younger crowd loves it but I found this place from googling Jazz Lounge. Yeah this is NOT a jazz lounge lol. I went here one night and I was probably double the age of every person in the building. I quietly left and stayed in my lane. Have fun kids not for those 30+ I wouldnt think.
Great bar, decent venue -Absolute sweat box. fans at the doors and ceilings would fix this.
Saw Avatar perform in the parking lot on their current headlining festival tour and it was amazing!! The staff was pretty attentive when a pit erupted and kept a sharp eye on everything going on during their set. I didnt get any food or drinks but heard things were good and decently priced from people in the crowd. Great club venue for intimate shows like this one was!
I had such a good time! For such a small venue it wasnt over packed, it gets a lil hot, but wat concert doesnt
I always have a blast at this venue! Its an open floor so youre able to get right up against the stage without much difficulty, giving you more of an intimate music experience. Drinks werent too exhorbant either, and from the bartenders to the security detail the staff was polite and friendly all the way around. Get there early if you want a parking spot close to the doors and not down the street though!!
A small intimate venue in the Springs. This is a great place to see some good local bands during the week and some bigger bands on weekends. The sound system is actually really good and the floor and stage are spread well. Theres so much room for activities haha!!! Drink selection and prices are pretty standard (over priced and lack of options). 4 stars mostly because of the layout and sound quality.
Interesting venue to see a band. Its small and intimate, but the bathroom floor will always be covered in urine by the end of the concert. Not that the establishment has any control over that. But where else are you going to see a live band in Colorado Springs? Theyve cleaned it up over the years and they got rid of the urinal trough which is a plus. There also seems to be a very negative vibe with the place. Every time I go there theres always a fight breaking out, Everytime... the security was on top of it though last time I went there, so kudos to them. They were able to stop it before it got out of control. The security was also very respectful as well. They just drag the people outside and told them to get gone, they werent overly aggressive and acting crazy like I have seen with the bouncers downtown. So if your favorite band is in town definitely go to the black sheep to see them, just be aware that the people in the springs are crazy, uptight and looking to start drama for some reason.
This place was terrible. Dirty venue. Uptight, over zealous bouncers got aggressive with patrons who werent consuming alcohol.
This has always been a great venue to catch some really great bands. Drinks are reasonably priced and the sound is generally on point. My complaint though is the temperature inside the venue…hot as heck! I mean to the point of literally having to go outside to cool off and missing the show you paid to see. We tried to suffer through the temperature last night but it was incredibly hot and in the end spent the last half of the set outside just to not pass out from the heat. Please fix the fans!
Great staff, fun themed nights, amazing place for concerts with a very up-close feel (everywhere has a good view). Sound \acoustics are awesome. Drinks are on point!
Best venue. I’ve always felt safe even in high school. The staff is lovely.
Fantastic venue for intimate concerts. Earplugs are definitely a good idea to have with you during your visit.
I came here for the Exodus concert on November 29th and got the meet and greet. The actual venue was amazing, but there were some problems. There were some vaping problems, and that affected me. I wish that they could enforce no smoking inside. But overall, the place was great, and it was definitely worth my time.
Ive always had a great time! Friendly staff and great bands! What more can you ask for?
A very intimate venue where you can get up close and personal with the bands as it is standing room only.
I came here to see EarthGang preform last year and Im so glad they did because the Black Sheep was absolutely the best introduction to the Colorado Springs music scene I couldve asked for. The local musicians were awesome and the energy from the crowd was great. I was blown away by the amount of support for Dot and Olu that night. Never before had I seen women twerking in the middle of a moshpit, and to this day I have not experienced another atmosphere so filled with joy and love and freedom. I cant wait to go back.
We came in from Texas to go to a show because my son’s favorite band was playing, and we’ve never been to this area, so… ROAD-TRIP! My husband and I frequently go to concerts, and we loved this venue. Everything about it: the sound, the service, the staff. All amazing. Since it was a family road trip, our youngest son came along (age 8). He’s an engaged kiddo and loves to dance and listen to music. He also doesn’t like loud noises, but we brought him ear protection and he had no issue with the sound. We also had no issue with people shoving him or anything like that, and he said it was the “greatest night of {his} life.” I will say, I had what I would call “parking anxiety” before we got there because of the parking FAQs and not knowing what to expect being from out of town, but we got there only about 10ish minutes before doors and got a very close parking space. It was not difficult to park in the street, and I didn’t have any impression that my vehicle was not safe on that street. We’d definitely catch a show here in the future if we were in town and had the opportunity.
I love the black sheep. I have been a frequent visitor to numerous concerts of varying genres and I have fully enjoyed every one of them. The staff is generally friendly. And the security is great at being there fairly quick when needed. The venue is small enough you can see well pretty much where ever you are.
Best local band venue in the Springs! The kids have a great scene here and are a huge support for touring bands. Im super excited this place exists! So most week day shows are $8-$12 and the bigger named shows go up to $20 to $35. For those shows purchase tix early because they do sell out. The staff are always helpfull and provide ear plugs free for those who need it, with that being said the sound system always sounds phenomenal for the crowd and the bands say stage sound is great as well, there is an ATM just inside the entrance so you can buy merch from bands that dont take cards. The box office is cash only but the staff is cool with letting you use the ATM to buy tix. The bar does accept cards and has a great selection of liquor and Avery IPA with Great Divide Titan are always on tap for $6, a few more craft selections are available in cans along with a selection of domestics. My only con is the restroom situation, I think some people dont aim or flush so the smell is harsh and gets worse the further back you go however Ive been in venues with way worse situations so its to be expected at almost every venue that hosts shows every day of the week. If youre only in town for a few days and want to see a show this is the place to go! Chances are youll see a killer band youve never heard of, thanks for being the best of COS Black Sheep!
Ive gone to The Black Sheep for years and Ive always had a blast! More fun to come!
Great times were had here by my kiddo here! Would make the trek from Denver to here again!
One of the best music venues in Colorado Springs! Catering to multiple different genre’s and National and local acts. If you like live music you have to hit a show here! The staff is friendly and professional and always on top of things!
Always a fun time at the Black Sheep! Best local venue around :)
Went last night to see Priest, Julien-k and Powerman 5000. Great venue, staff are super friendly and definitely on their A game with making sure the mosh pit doesnt get too crazy and people follow the rules. The bartender that served us was really nice and remembered my cocktail, which is special order. Already looking forward to going back for another great time!
One of my absolute favorite venues and the staff are absolutely amazing
First time going here. Great place! The staff was friendly and seemed happy to be there. Rare in todays world. This is a great place for smaller concerts. Would definitely come here again. BTW, the bathrooms were clean, as was the rest of the place. :D
Outstanding venue. One of the best in town. Large standing space and some bench-type seating along either wall. Very little wait at the bar despite the number of people at the concert. They might consider opening the line earlier since they do a card and metal check on everyone. Excellent for security, but many folks missed the first band waiting to get through the process.
Love small venues but this one is special. Drove 1.5 hours to see my show and it was worth it. Only bar/venue Ive seen with free water for everyone.
Had a great time at the concert. Bar had a nice selection of alcohol. There is seating along the walls which was nice. Bathrooms were clean. Stay was very nice. Lots of free parking. If go there again for another concert.
If youre new to Colorado then you should know that this is the venue to go to if your phone Colorado then you already know. From small artists to some of the biggest Headliners out there it seems like just about every artist high to low wants to play here and the shows are always amazing! I will say however like any concert venue the bigger the artist the more crammed the crowd and this very quickly can become apparent here but is well worth being smushed XD
Awesome little music venue! Small but great atmosphere and great people employed here. Definitely worth checking out
Dude the black sheep is amazing. Great for any event and offer
One of the best venues in Colorado! Ive seen so many bands I love here! Great security staff that are helpful and aware. Drinks are moderately priced and the sound is always really good! Thanks for all the memories!!!
Great place, obviously kinda tiny, but made the experience better. My only reason for 4 stars is because the parking options were non existent, but not entirely the fault of the venue.
I absolutely love this venue! Thank you for sharing so much amazing music and for sharing the space!
I’ve seen 2 shows here and it’s a great place. Drinks are not too expensive and the staff is very friendly. You will need ear plugs, because it’s a small place and it gets very loud.
Love this venue! Have seen some amazing bands here and it is always great
Saw Hatebreed there and the entire experience was great. The staff were super nice and watching out for everyone to make sure we all had a good time. My glasses got kicked off so a guard put them on stage for me, my husband got crushed in the crowd so they brought him a cold water bottle. We had a great time and were excited to go back for another concert.
We saw the sold out show on 11-13-22 of Machine Head. It was fantastic! The band are true masters of their craft and there is no better place to see such mastery! The Black Sheep is perfectly suited to see a metal show. Its so small we just stood in back and could see everything with no problem. The sound system is incredible, my ears are still ringing.Last but certainly not least is the staff that manages to provide a really fun experience while delicately balancing the freedom to mosh with the safety of control.I look forward to the next show I see there, thanks Black Sheep!
Love it for the metal shows, but its gettin a lil small.....
Small venue so we were so close to the artist. I loved it. The bar made really good drinks and the bathroom was clean.
Look this place as been around since my first concert in the 90s. I cant help but love it and the staff!
We love going to see shows here! Great pricing, great sound. Great venue, very intimate. You get a chance to see the stage up close and get an unobstructed view during the show (unless someone really tall stands in front of you, but even then you can move to another unobstructed spot easily). Bartenders are cool and quick to get drinks.
This place is awesome. I really appreciate the professionalism and compassion of their Marketing person Rosanna. She has gone above and beyond to make sure my family have a great experience. P.s. Buy your tickets through Black Sheep, not third party.
Great venue since I was younger lol.Went recently to an Abba themed disco night. Boy was that DJ working hard. It was fun and they added new security measures which were awesome. Even though I had to put my knife away it made me feel okay that these guys were ready for any trouble. Lol. The drinks rocked and the bartenders wore amazing clothes. And also their bathrooms were decent for how old this venue is...thanks again!
The spot, the joint, the absolute GOAT 🐏 (close enough to sheep I guess) Emo night is always a personal fave but Ive seen bands big and small here and they always pack the place. Parking is not a thing here, youll freeze in line and then boil inside but its all worth it! I really appreciate that the security is on point here too! They watch and actively hunt down the belligerent / drunk / rude people and kick em to the curb, I love it!
Went to watch Delta Bombers and Reverend Horton Heat, staff were very kind, and allowed us to park in the lot even though my disabled father inlaw forgot his handicap placard. Shout out to the outstanding worker who went and talked with his boss to clear our parking. I have always been a fan of the venue, but they certainly went above and beyond and we couldnt be more thankful!
A lot of work has been done to this venue since 2020. The sound is now much more crisp and detailed with the new speakers and sound system, definitely a noticeable improvement. The bar and aesthetics look fantastic and the mens bathroom has actual urinals now instead of the classic trough. Staff is friendly as always
Nice and small but sound system needs improvement. Feedback was really bad at times
No trash cans where you need them. Arrogant security. Not a big venue, but people try to crowd surf. Better sound than Sunshine, but not a good vibe or location.
Love this place…no matter where your standing it feels like your right up front
This is a cool venue. Its pretty straightforward and not super big, which I like. I dont drink alcohol and I get really anxious in public so I always wish there was more seating at venues but I really dont have anything to complain about. We had a great time here.
It’s always such a treat when I get to see shows at the black sheep. The sound quality is great and it’s a perfectly sized venue. Security can be a bit grouchy and rude at times… but I don’t blame them when you take into account the people and situations they have to deal with. There’s seating on the far left and right where you can rest or stand on if you want to get a nice vantage point. Parking isn’t as bad as everyone makes it seem, just get there around the time that doors open and park along the sidewalk. One tiny criticism is that their website will say “Show: 7:00pm,” however this means DOORS are at 7:00, NOT that the show starts at 7 and doors are an hour before. It’s been a frequent point of confusion for friends and I, but now that I’ve gotten it down it’s not as big of an issue. Overall it’s the best CoSp venue and I would highly recommend going here if given the opportunity.
Honestly my favorite concert venue! I recommend it to everyone I know. You can see a lot of up and coming artists for a good price and at a smaller stage where it always feels like a more personal experience. The staff is incredibly nice and they help make it a safe experience too (will hand out water bottles if you need or walk you to your car etc). Theyre genuinely great people and I always have a positive experience there.
Paid $60 to have a good time at emo night just to have some horrible woman on staff scream at my wife in line for no good reason. We are locals that will NOT be back and will not be recommending this place to anyone we know.
Excellent venue, excellent staff. They have a great crew Tristan and Mark are my favorites as I see them there most often. Kevin and Jacki kill it behind the bar. I feel protected, and I feel I get a good value for my drinks, and as always everyone puts on one hell of a show.
Great small venue. The sound is great and the staff is nice. Will probably go back in the future.
Had a great time, got to see red jumpsuit apparatus, dead rabbits and a few other bands. The bar is fully stocked, and theres a few beers. I wish they had a better IPA on draft but none the less its great. Parking is 0 of 5 stars
I really dig this place. They showcase local bands, as well as bringing in nationally renowned bands. The acoustics are fantastic. Every time Ive been in, theres been deals on drinks, friendly staff, and just an all around great place to catch a show. Tickets are always at a great price and its overall atmosphere is one that caters to the true music fan.
Best place in the Springs to see a show. Over the last 3 years I have seen over 12 shows and each time I have a great experience. The audio is great, I love the smaller size of the venue as the shows are a little more intense yet intimate. Only issue is how hard it is to get back and forth to the bar but thats just how the building was built.
Nice venue with most excellent decor. Prices are about as expected but the people are great. Already planning my next trip. It should be noted the floor is very hard and standing for prolonged periods of time is not the best but with some good shoes Im sure it would be not as hard on the back.
Came in from out of town for a metal show. Nice venue that wasnt too sketchy. They could use a commons area outside for smokers, but they manage to make it work! Id totally come back here again sometime though! :)
Bouncers are extremely rude, pulled someone over age out of the pit
My only wish was that there were some fans or something to help with heat during a sold out show. Otherwise great venue, loved the bar and ive never heard of a bad show here. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great venue. Ive been here several times now and have never had a bad experience (minus my friends getting booted on their own). Prices are a touch high for drinks but the concert tickets are cheap so it evens out. I do like that the bouncers dont mess around and keep everyone safe too.
Its kind of a small, dirty venue. The bar is fairly well stocked, the staff is friendly, and the sound system is solid.I enjoy coming here because there is no pretention, prices are solid, big name bands play here, and the small size lets you get right next to the artist. Its also a great place to meet the artist, as they usually hang out and have a drink after their set.
Great place to see live music. You can get up close and personal or hang back by the bar. Either way a good view no matter what. They can even host outdoor shows, bigger crowds. Great place, been going there for years
Just saw Cattle Decapitation here and it was amazing. Roomier in there than you might think and very friendly staff .. The sound was amazing and crystal clear. Glad we have our own venue for shows and dont always have to go to Denver. I actually remember this place when I used to go to their goth nights. Damn good to be back! 🤘🏻
Always a great time! They play the best punk bands, alt bands, and they have some fun events (punk rock flea market? Disco nights?! Yes please!) Could use some seating outside though.
My absolute favorite intimate venue for the most badass metal bands!!! Always the best crowds, too!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
So a terrible thing happened and I dont know how much to blame the venue. The parking is bad. The drinks were good. The sound was not good. The bouncers were not professional and the crowd sucked. Between the incident that involves the bouncers and the crowd I am not in a hurry to go back but its hard to place blame and I dont know how other shows might be.
Bought tickets through Vivid seats for Backseat Lovers, a show that was advertised as sold out through Black Sheep. Since the tickets were not through the actual venue, we were unaware of the policy of having to provide our vaccine cards or negative COVID test. This was not listed on the tickets we purchased and printed either. As of November 6, 2021- this information was not clearly posted on the Black Sheep website. Only if you purchased tickets on their website, or went digging through their FAQ page. Now they have an alert as soon as you access the page, which should have always been in place. We waited in line for an hour only to be denied entrance at the door. Staff advised to pull up vaccine info on state website, but this was down at the time and we couldnt access our records. Would have been nice if this information was advertised better, or if staff informed people while we waited in a line that wrapped around the building. Signs could also be posted on the building. We live 30 minutes away, so needless to say, we could not see the show, or would have missed half of it by going back home. Lost out on pricey tickets for a show we could not get in to see. If you are buying from a 3rd party vendor, be prepared!
I would like to begin this review by saying that I do not believe anybody in this situation was at fault. I have been attending different kinds of shows at this venue for close to 25 years, under many different owners, and I truly appreciate every staff member Ive ever met that works on the premises. Tonight, unfortunately, I was attending a party at which a lot of women told me that I was welcome, and then a lot of men decided that I was not without checking in with the women. I very respectfully left the premises as requested and sat quietly outside until everybody left, to make sure that nobody needed any medical help or anything else I might be able to provide, and then I went home once I knew that it was safe to. I dont believe I will ever have another experience like this at this establishment, and I dont think that anyone did anything wrong at all. I think it was a wild night with a lot of emotions and Im glad that were all still friends. Ill be back soon :)
The black sheep is a great place for avid show goers. All the employees treat other with respect. Always having good shows and cold beer. Love this small venue!
Cool vibes. Great staff. Check out a show here or play a show here, you will not be disappointed.
The staff here is fantastic. I came to the Dog Party show, and I accidentally locked my keys in my car.Mark and Jason helped me get them out and gave me a coupon for a free show!Great people, great venue. Hope to see yall soon.
Been here a handful of times and enjoy it every time I go. Wide variety of music acts. Staff is cool, the sound is good, and never have to wait for drinks even when the place is packed.
I love this place. A smaller venue, it has a more intimate feeling than other places. Its a lot closer than having to drive to Denver. Every employee Ive ever dealt with is super friendly. My only complaint is the bathrooms are super small. Two stalls and one sink. It causes quite the backup in the ladies room, but eh, what can you do.
I read reviews before heading to a concert here. I was very cautious due to what I had read. However there was no need. The bounces that other claimed were horrible and liked to rough people up, were amazingly nice to us (group of 4). They were kind to my girls and me. They let us go to the car when needed and even helped me walk one of the girls to car when she had a bit to much (before we got there, they didnt serve her, and rightfully so). I forgot my jacket after the concert and they had already closed up. They allowed me back in to get it. So my perspective is. If you act decent and respect them, theyll respect you and even look out for you in return. Thank you guys for helping me with my friend and being kind. Especially David! The actual venue: clean bar and bathrooms, dance floor, good sound system, all in all great little place. What you absolutely expect from a hidden away bar/venue. I didnt give 5 stars because they charge for water. 2$ a bottle, so not bad, but shouldve been free. That is my only complaint.
The Emo night tour was amazing!!! This place had ice cold drinks, complimentary water, and the atmosphere was good! Everyone here was happy and in a good mood and the drink prices were cheap and made well. The vibe here and people are much better then the Church night club, Vinyl nightclub and Beta nightclub. It’s a long drive to get here but it was worth it! I will be back for sure!!!!
Drove from Denver to check out some death metal, security was laid back the bands sounded awesome and drinks were fairly priced! Definitely would go back
This place will forever be my favorite hole in the wall punk rock escape from the world. The only real alternative venue in town, black sheep is still running strong. Good bartenders and bar, excellent security and staff and good music, what more can you ask for?
Very small with only a tiny bench to sit on. Provide water for free and have a decent bar. Small bathrooms, old but clean. Lots of band stickers from over the years. Good sound system made for the off sized venue. Amazing big names stop here for a garage band feel.
Best place to watch a concert. Drink specials were fantastic, air conditioning was arctic. Sound was perfect. Security was respectful and responsible. I will come again and bring friends. I will try to use their own box office in the future
I went there to see Soulfly and its a really good club to see bands almost intimately. The staff was very professional security allowed kids to dance and didnt break it up unless it got out of hand. so you are allowed to have fun as long as you werent hurting anybody and I like that a lot of places you dont get to do that
Great little dive spot with plenty of personality to match. Parking is severely lacking, so expect to walk a bit. Prices are also a bit high, but that is typical for bar/concert venues. They host a huge variety of genres, and the place has that intimate vibe. Staff does a great job with keeping people behaving so you can enjoy the show as well, whether it is indoors or outdoors.
Went to see the AJJ show on the 26th and it was fantastic. The staff were excellent from bar to soundbooth. Event security were great at making sure people had fun but things didnt get out of hand. Will definitely return to this venue if any of the bands I follow have a show here
Strong mixed drinks. Friendly bartenders and doormen. On the smaller side of venues but still able to separate yourself from people if necessary. Cant leave and return which kind of sucks but I get that reasoning. Very affordable no matter who youre seeing.
Great venue for up close experience. Drink prices are reasonable and the crowd is always good. Always a place to look at for live music. Bring ear plugs.🤣
Amazing headlining popular bands in a affordable small concert atmosphere. Feels like a block party with all your friends. Shocking how many big name stars/bands are booked all The Time. The venue knows what the public wants to see and hear and they make it happen!! I give it Highest ratings for sure
Only 2 stars because of an aggressive door man with ego issues that screamed and cursed at my friend and threatened to drag him out. My friend had done nothing wrong and had already apologized (for the non issue) to try and keep peace. Other than that, we enjoyed the Wax Tailor show on 3/3.
An ok venue, its a little bit small I would have to say, but I have only been to huge events so Im not sure if its considered small. The artists had to walk through the crowd to the stage which was cool, because you were able to see them close up if you were in the right place. Overall, I would definitely go back! But it would be the artists who make me go back and not the venue itself.
This is one of my favorite venues in southern Colorado. I’ve been to multiple shows over a 20 year span and have always had a great experience. The bar’s staff is fast and friendly as well.
My fav venue here! The staff is very hospitable which is hard to find in this city! They literally take care of you! More rock bands have been booked lately so we back on the up!!! Thanks yal!
Arguably the best local venue in town. They attract good artists, regardless of your musical tastes. The bar is sparse in selection, but not terribly overpriced for a venue. The atmosphere varies from night to night, especially depending on the size of the crowd. Have had some great shows that ended up being intimate performances due to low turnout. The biggest drawback is the lack of a real solution for parking. Parking is free along the street, and usually isnt a huge problem, but it is inconvenient and can be a longer walk than anticipated.
I honestly was expecting much less in pretty much every aspect! The place was nicer than I expected it to be on the inside, and we saw Claire voyant and she was awesome! Great show super nice staff!Looking forward to seeing what other shows they have available in the future!
Always a good time! The staff does well for some of the people they have to deal with. They pull some good bands and shows for a smaller venue.
We love it! It is well run, safe, and they have great shows! Im from Michigan originally so I grew up going to shows at The Machine Shop in Flint. This is by far the best place to go for a big named show outside of that. Highly recommended!!
To be honest the crowd doesnt find it bad, the talent on the night I went was good. But the really need to do something with the acoustics it does become hard to hear the singers because there is none. The whole place vertebrates backed the sound because the Acoustics are bad whats makes the sound not so good. The whole place just needs to be updated. I found the ladies room to be dirty and very offencive I understand that its a bar lounge venue but it doesnt call for the offensiveness that is written all over the walls.
Great intimate venue super awesome staff. We saw crown lands and the Hu. We brought our 6 year old grandson to the all ages show he had a blast. Well stocked bar. Lots of music history to be a part of. Thanks for the awesome time
Went to go see Suicide Girls there. The show was awesome. Wish there was a bit more space and they had started the show earlier than advertised so I missed the one part I wanted to see the most which was them in Star Wars costumes. But otherwise, they were very helpful, even gave me a stool and made sure I had a place to sit. I ended up off to the side and not able to see really well because of the early start, but I had a seat and was still a really good show.
This place is an awesome venue! Ive seen shows pre and post quarantine here and no matter what you come to see here, it still feels like home ... With the occasional mosh pit... I saw Empire Records there last night on one of their movie night and it was perfect.
A good place to see a small show, make sure you dont mind standing if you buy tickets for a show. The bar service is good and fast. Biggest drawback is bathrooms are small (2 stalls) but clean. But the crowd is friendly so the close proximity to others enhances the experience.
If you want a real concert experience that youll remember for years this is the place to go, not only do they host some really great bands there staff is great. Last concert I was at they swiftly kicked out this woman causing a disturbance and were very professional and calm about it. Ive been here for an indoor show and outdoor show and they were both great you will absolutely get the experience you paid for usually more.
Heck yeah! Shout out to the band The Elevators! They crushed it last night absolutely had a great time. The Blacksheep has done a lot of cleaning up too. Great sound, overall a great place to go see a show of any kind. Ive seen metal, hiphop, and now reggae there it was dope.
By far one of the most intimate music/concert venues in the entire state! most shows/concerts will run under $30 dollars and the bar serves some decently priced drinks and beers. some of the best concerts Ive been to were at the black sheep such as Matisyahu, waka flaka, Kyle gas band, and many many more! definitely a place to catch a show at if you have the opportunity!!
First time there since the 90s when it was a different club. Show was sick, and felt safe enough to bring my teen. Expect standing room only, there is a bench that runs the sides of the room but thats it. No tables or chairs, even at the bar. We had a great time and will definitely be going back!
Seen a couple bands here, we like the small venue Atmosphere.Staff has always been friendly and weve enjoyed ourselves.
Its what weve got in the Springs. Nothing special, but Im glad weve got it. The show I went to was just fine. The music playing before the act was appropriate, the the place was clean, and the sound was good. Local beer on tap for good prices, which is more than I expect from most venues.
Always a great time at this venue. Small enough where youre up close to the artists, parking and leaving is never an issue. Great sound too. Its awesome to meet bands too. Highly recommended.
Went there last month, for My first experience and it did not disappoint at all. Love the location and the entire Staff there. Small Venue and still perfect for any Band that performs there.
Best music venue in Colorado Springs. I’ve always felt very safe there with the highly attentive staff and the bartenders are always super friendly. Fantastic operation.
