The Texan

The Texan has very reasonably priced drinks. The selection of draft beer is good and served cold. Pool, darts, and an expansive & well landscaped outside area are available.

Went in for first time and I found it to be quite relaxing to sit and enjoy a drink. Employees and patrons were very friendly and made me feel at ease.

Visiting from the RGV and the bar tender was spot on. We drank and played pool. Chill atmosphere outside if you want to take a break from the music and wind down.

This place has a great atmosphere, 2 pool tables, a shuffle board, a jukebox that connect to your phone, and a poker game machine. They have some of the coolest bartenders and are now serving BarbQ! The smell breaks me everytime, I end up ordering the pulled pork sandwich! Also they have one of the best bloody Marys around! Like Im not kidding! Im a bloody Mary girl an have been looking for the best in corpus Christi and I have to sayyyy... I think I have found it here at the Texan! They have IPA beer and lets not forget to mention they have cheaper prices.

Love this bar, its one of the only two I really care to go to in corpus. Its not a trendy or upscale tavern, its a bar where everyone who walks in and knows how to act is welcome. Occasional rock bands play on weekends, other than that its never really crowded, but theres always a good crowd :-)Best patio in town, with a large BBQ pit where anyone can come responsibly cook on, they might even supply some lighter and foil if you look like you know what youre doing, and brought enough to share... did I mention theres a zero tolerance for drama? Nuff said huh~

Hard to expect a lot when someplace is open 7 days a week at 7am (including Christmas as per the bartender). We stopped after getting the final big ticket items for a drink and the bartender was great.

Their back patio is a little hidden paradise and was a great place to hang out with friends, toss some washers and have a few drinks. Pool tables and Shuffle Board inside.

Only bar with pool tables open at 7 am. And I’m there all the time in the morning. I wake up early to go play pool. But all of the sudden I’m not allowed anymore. Just bc I’m a minor. But I went there so much. First time I was there when I was 19. They even let me have drinks. But now I can’t play pool. Smh.I 20 now

Great bar and even better bartender in the afternoon. Have been to rock shows many years ago and happens to pass by one afternoon and figured why not. Had been one of those days. The bartender Jessica (beautiful by the way) kept the cold beers coming and always had a smile. The regulars that were in there were great to listen to while I did a little work and had a few beers. I actually went back a few days later and the same great experience was had. This will definitely be one of my weekly stops when I need a couple of beers after a long day.

The Texan is a great place to have a beer ..maybe 1 or 2 or more than you can remember the next day. Great place to hang out with friends. The best Bartender in Corpus...Charlie! friendly funny and makes some great drinks. BUT...I have to say...THE RESTROOMS REALLY NEED SOME INPROVMENTS! By the crowds of people spending money at the Texan, you would think the owner would make some very much needed improvements to the restrooms.

The bartender was very helpful and incredibly sweet. She did above and beyond. Definitely going back again. Also had so much fun playing pool and getting to pick out songs on the juke box.

The Valet took really good care of our Maserati. They had our reserved table ready and every one there was so polite. The drink specials were spot on with the right mix of flavors and varieties. The night time helicopter ride arrived after we had finished our socializing with the locals which was just the best. We hope to have our new sail boat christening there if the owners are up to it. We really love this annual visit. Follow up: Love what they did with the hardtop. Not as many divots as Jim puts on the golf course!! Caroline from Ukraine said this place rivals the most exclusive water holes back home!!! I think my sister mentioned having her marriage reception there with black swans floating in the pond!!!

Great little bar with huge outside area for smoking. The big fella with glasses behind the bar is exceptional at his craft. He was very fast during a crowded night.Big rule here, have a good time and be respectful of others doing the same.Only thing I found bad was the size of the mens toilet. Airplane size.

Great beer prices on Monday. The back patio/garden area is awesome due to the grills that we were able to use. The staff were very friendly and cordial.

Tristina or “Trish” was one of the worst bartenders I’ve had. Warm beer and very weak drinks and very touchy didn’t feel comfortable at all while there. She kept touching my arms and grasping my hands while at the bar not professional….

If you want to get away from the stupid kids going to the bar trying to get laid and that annoying young crowd with terrible music this is your place. Im 23 and even I hate going to young, hip places because the atmosphere isnt relaxing and laid back like this place is. The bartenders and regulars here are so nice, theres a great outdoor seating area with lots of trees for shade and wildlife if thats your thing. People even grill out in the patio area sometimes. One of my favorite spots to hang out and unwind! Definitely recommend

Affordable and quaint neighborhood bar. The backyard BBQ area and throwing Washers pit is awesome and peaceful.

Bartender only cares of who is at the bar to but my her shots. Other than that is you ask her to perform typical bar duties chick looks for you to leave. If you ain’t a poor guy down in hood luck she’ll overlook you.

The Texan offers great service, 3 pool tables, electric dartboards, and shuffleboard. The best part is a large covered patio, and well kept garden seating anyone would be proud to have as their own! They offer an open jam session every Sunday night, 8-?, and also serve as a small venue for local and visiting bands. The happy hour is generous, and serve a wide variety of beers!

This is one of my favorite bars. Its dark, the backyard area is beautiful, music is always good, and beer is cold. The reason its my favorite is because of the back area. You can have private secluded conversations with plants surrounding you. What more could you ask for.

Cooking 400 hamburgers for a benefit it was a huge success thank all the people who help make it happen 👍

Two Pool tables, shuffle board, juke box, friendly people. Nice selection of booze and beer. Great back yard garden setting with picnic tables here and there, and a set up for playing washers.

1st time here and didnt even get to order a drink. It was near the end of Sunday funday but the guy bartender was not having it. Granted Sundays are slow and it was late in the evening but for us to leave couldnt be a good sign. On a side note I was told the female bartender is pretty awesome. May try again if she is working 😄

Cold BEER and liquor drinks. Pleasant atmosphere. Friendly people. Pool tables 2. Music box. Awesome outdoor patio With picnic tables plenty. And it is shaded by trees. Really cool outside. Bbq pit out back. Serve beer buckets too. What more do you want!!

Great place from my experience. The man behind the bar was awesome. The live band was great and they have a nice outdoor area with lots of seating and washers. Also cheap pool at $0.75 per game

Excellent prices and low-key vibe. Live music on the occasion Saturday night so take a few bucks for the bands tip jar because theres never a cover here.

How have I not reviewed the Texan yet? Its a staple for my visits to Corpus Christi - solid dive bar with an amazing walled garden in the back yard, full of plants and trees from around the world. One of the proprietors daughters is a botanist, and she selected a wonderful variety of plants native to South America to provide a private garden for patrons in the back. Worth a stop if you have 20 minutes to grab a drink and chat with some locals.

Its an old, dive bar. A fun hole in the wall kinda bar with a juke box. Occasionally they have some live rock bands. If you need a smoke or want more of a laid back area they have the best backyard/smoking area in town. Youll find yourself in a secret garden with picnic tables almost hidden within trees and bushes & center area set up for bbqs & am outdoor game of washers. Inside they also have a couple of pool tables, dart boards, and shuffleboard!

One of my favorite dive bars , anywhere. Darlene is a great bartender. Sometimes live music in the weekend. The back yard is very relaxing. Washer pit is fun.

From my first visit to this bar, I liked it and still do, all the bar tenders will make you feel welcomed. Theres this new bbq guy and hes always grillin and his food is real good.

Cozy inside small yet spacy, however outside in back is like no other, like you stepped into another part of the world. I have never seen a setup like what I saw at the Texan. Bartender was cool and was informative, so I wont hold it against him that he is from Louisiana and is a LSU fan, lol.

Small bar with 8 stools, 6 tables, 2 pool tables and dart machines. But huge fenced-in backyard with plenty of seating, trees, and benches. Best part is that you can hear the juke box outside.

There are 2 great dive bars in Corpus. This is one of the 2. Great bar, great prices, friendly staff, awesome location. Definitely hit up this bar if youre ever in Corpus Christi.

Bartender was outside in the back in the bushes almost every time we went to order beer. When he finally came back I tried to close out my tab and he said my card was declined, I took the card back and saw that it wasnt even my card.

The restrooms are small. The drinks are very expensive. When you ask for your drink dressed its half naked. Didnt enjoy it. But the bartender is really nice.

Neighborhood bar... Backyard is AMAZING! I can walk back there and it feels like I fall out of the city and land in the jungle. Killer spot for both groups and privacy!

Great drink prices and one of my fav places to go to cuz u can actually still talk to the people ur with because the music isnt over powering ....charlie is the best bartender there as well

I have to say I was impressed. The interior of the bar and the service was nothing like I expected. It was clean, and the service very good. The drink prices were reasonable and very competitive. I liked it.

Hung out in this neighborhood joint 25 years ago. It has not changed much, which is a good thing. Great place to wet your whistle and take it easy!

Literally a hole in the wall. You would think they would make up for it with some good drinks. Drinks are the weakest I’ve had anywhere, and the beer ain’t cold, won’t be back.

Best Little Hole in the wall in town! Been comin here for a long time still homebase... and we all know theres no place like home! Tip the bartenders gotta love my girls!

Not at all what we expected for bike night sponsored by 104.5. Host never acknowledged or promoted the station. 6 people sitting at the bar 5 people behind the bar and waited 5 minutes to get a beer and bartender seemed like it was a hassle. Music was sparse. The outdoor area was the only reason they get 3 stars instead of 1.

The quintisential hole in the wall. But, it holds a beautiful surprise outside the back door. A great place for pitching washers or throwing darts.

Service was perfectly fine but it smelled....odd. They had a live band but the place clearly didnt quite prepare for a live band

Womens bathroom is way too small. The toilet was between the door and the sink. They did have pool tables.

The bartender was not good, had to ask her to wash her hands to make my bloody Mary, and wouldnt stop yapping away to her other costomers....and I believe she forgot to put the vodka in our mix.....we left after that.

Bike night was car night. We could not find a place to even park safely. No bike parking. We were blocked in by a car and had to push bikes to get out. I wont be back until there is bike parking on bike night.

First time there. Next clean place. Will be going again for a drink nd hang out with family.
