Studio 22 A Ballroom & Social Dance Club

I went to Studio 22 for dance lessons with my fiancé and father/daughter dance lessons with my dad in prep for our wedding. I bought several private lessons for each of us and Aimee Mendez choreographed both of our wedding dances to the songs we chose and worked with all of us over several weeks. She thought of everything from our entrance into the reception to the transition between our first dance and our father/daughter dance so that everything looked polished and wasnt awkward on the day of. Being inexperienced dancers, we came in knowing nothing but left feeling really confident about our first dance and we actually had fun!! Aimee made the steps easy for us to remember but also look really beautiful. She is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent dance teacher for people of all levels. She made dancing fun and comfortable and we really enjoyed working with her. Highly recommend spending the money on wedding dance lessons at Studio 22 so your first dances look polished and professional!!

Ive been taking classes and private lessons for over a year and Studio 22 is the place to go! The teaching breaks dancing down for the beginner but is challenging for those with experience. Everyone is kind, genuine, and supportive! The atmosphere is fun but still very professional. I love going to an independent studio versus a chain with a community and so many unique events!Sergey & Michelle have created such a special place.

I had a really nice experience during my first group class here at Studio 22. It was a Beginner Level 1 class. I felt that the pace of the class, the guidance of the instructors, and even the energy and friendliness of the other participants were exactly what I was looking for as somebody very new to the world of dancing, looking forward to coming back for the next lesson!

I’ve been taking classes here from Wes Neese since December 2023. I took classes at this studio and a few other studios, eventually settled on only going to this studio. The quality of the West Coast Swing classes are unparalleled in the DFW area. Wes is a fantastic instructor, both in group classes and in one-on-one private classes. I’ve learned an incredible amount in a very short time, and feel more confident in my west coast abilities thanks to this studio’s social events and classes.

First class was tonight…Nobody got hurt! , Jim and Nancy are great instructors, the facilities were great, all the participants seemed to enjoy themselves. There were more guys then ladies, which I did not expect, but it was a good time by all.

I have danced at Studio 22 since 2016. Our instructors are absolutely great! I have met a wonderful group of people that have the mutual goal of wanting to become beautiful dancers! It’s so much fun. I really like the flex package option for purchasing groups of classes that allows me to mix and match the style of classes I want to take. It’s a wonderful dance family!

Ive been a member of Studio 22 for more than 2 years. I started group lessons to learn West Coast Swing taught by Wes and Pam Neese. I have enjoyed Wes and Pams teaching style. They are dedicated, energetic and enthusiastic instructors who care about the students fundamental skills, posture, and learning progress. They are very patient and use their whole heart to teach. I really appreciate their West Coast Swing class and would recommend it to everyone!

The location is very well done with large practice rooms, smooth floors, mirrors, reception and highly professional; and very clean.The instructors are excellent teachers with extremely helpful and friendly personalities. I have taken several classes in different styles and I have enjoyed each one. I am excited about returning for more and becoming a part of the family there.

I did the Level 1 Two Step class and it was such a blast. The class was very structured and led well by the instructors. Is a very established studio and affordable. I would highly recommend.

Sergey and Michelle are fantastic instructors that break down Salsa dance movements so that you can learn and enjoy dancing!

Productive, organized and well taught class! The instructor was great at breaking down the steps and successfully teaching beginners. The community, especially the higher levels that came to join afterwards, and the after class practice itself really solidified the rating. Everyone is so nice, happy to dance with different partners, and not put off by the fact that it was clearly my first lesson. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and welcomed I felt, especially since I didnt attend with a partner and it seemed like common practice to switch partners with each song.

Coaches are highly knowledgeable and lessons were challenging without feeling impossible. I highly recommend especially if you have not danced before. They take their time to teach important fundamentals while still keeping it fun and interesting.

Dancing has made me feel alive again and I’ve experienced so much joy since starting classes at Studio 22. I’ve had wonderful instructors, fabulous students to work with, the membership price is perfection and quite frankly - I don’t want to give dancing up ever again!

What started as first-dance prep has turned into a passion. We nailed our first dance 💃🕺 and now my wife and I are continuing to learn new dances in preparation for showcases. Our instructor Maya has always been upbeat and responsive to our needs. Very technical and always improving our dance technique. It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come!

Love this studio! Great instructors and fantastic learning experience. I’m in my 40s, and I wanted to try something new. This was my first formal dance class and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to catch on, but the instructor’s teaching method made it very easy to learn. The other students also made it extremely fun as no one took themselves too seriously which allowed for a very inclusive group learning experience - which was great as I didn’t have a partner.I had a blast! I look forward to taking more classes!

Ive been taking classes at Studio 22 for 7 years. I cant imagine how my life would be now if I hadnt join the Studio. It has brought so many positive changes in my life. I have not only become a very good dancer but also I have met so many amazing people and I have made friends that inspire me to be a better person every day. I met my instructor, Jim Weber, at a group lesson while out social dancing one evening. It was easy to notice his personality was delightful. His group lessons at Studio 22 are filled with many patterns and lots of fun. Jim is always kind and helpful which makes you want to learn more and more! I also highly recommend Jim as a private coach. He continues to encourage me to be the best dancer I can be! Jim’s teaching technique gives me confidence and makes me feel beautiful when I dance.The receptionist, Jordan, is also a lovely person to interact with at the Studio. She always greets me with a beautiful and sincere smile.The Studio offers a “flex package” option that doesn’t require a contract. This allows me to take lots of group lessons and progress at my own pace while staying within my entertainment budget.

We took the wedding workshop class about 5 times prior to our wedding but even one class would have been sufficient. Aimee is a fantastic instructor and shows a lot of patience with beginners like us. It paid off at our wedding and people were amazed at the opening dance we put together. We picked a specific song and Aimee helped us design a dance that was choreographed to the music it was fantastic. Strongly recommend studio 22 for beginners or seasoned dancers. All the instruction was easy to understand and it was a fun learning experience.

Ive been coming for six years. I love the instructors and staff. The group classes are always fun and a great way of meeting new people. Private lessons with Michelle are awesome way to learn a new dance quickly. The group salsa classes are the best in Dallas. Studio 22 also has the best parties in Dallas.

Studio 22 is amazing. No doubts about it. The instructors are so talented and are dedicated into making you the best dancer you can be. From the moment I walked in I felt a sense of community and can say I feel like I’m a part of the Studio 22 family. I have taken group classes here for over three years and feel like I have grown so much not only as a dancer but in other facets of life as well. I’m beyond grateful for this studio and it’s instructors.

We have been taking lessons from Cody and Maya for over 10 years. They are great instructors and very good dancers. They’re also fun to be with we spend a lot of time laughing and enjoying ourselves. I can’t recommend them enough. They know many different forms of ballroom: Latin, smooth, country, swing and are able to teach it in a way that you are not self-conscious and are ready to go out and dance.

Cody and Maya did a fantastic job of breaking down the waltz for a beginner at the Waltz Workshop I attended on Saturday. I signed up for an annual membership - will take salsa 1 and 2-step 1 this month.

I learned a lot in the class. The instructor, Bobby, is a skilled instructor. He is helpful and attentive. As a bonus, he is also funny.

Forget the other studios, this place is far superior in every category. The owners understand and appreciate that dancing can be daunting and have taken special care to ensure all their classes are taught by the best instructors and most importantly, that the classes are fun. Every class is warm and friendly and the teachers are patient. There are a variety of styles to dance and every class is full. Some other studios offer only a few group classes where only a handful of students come to learn, at Studio 22 each of the over 100+ monthly classes have great attendance. The community here is extremely supportive and loves to come out to all the events. The studio is clean and parking is easy. The group classes have 2 options for credits - a pay as you go or a monthly subscription. Its nice to have multiple options for every type of schedule! I highly recommend all the classes here at Studio 22

Michelle was an amazing teacher and helped us learn a fun and romantic routine for our first dance! Our dance lessons with her were definitely the most fun part about wedding planning. We got so many compliments on our dance and couldnt have done it without her! :)

Taking dance lessons with Aimee was by far the most fun part of our wedding planning experience! My husband and I do not have musical backgrounds, but Aimee made us feel confident and relaxed from day one. She worked with us to create a first dance routine that incorporated moves from West Coast swing and salsa. It was a blast to learn and perform, and really impressed our guests! We highly recommend Aimee, and we’ll be back to take more lessons at Studio 22.

I started dancing 3 years ago. After having some less than stellar experiences at OTHER studios, I finally found my home here; I have been here 2 years, and I am here to stay. This place is amazing! The staff is incredibly friendly, the other students are great, and the class structure is perfect (1.5 hr classes!). The instructors have an enormous range of experience and dance styles so you will always be learning, and never get bored. If you want to up your game, the private lessons offered by the instructors are phenomenal! They can dive into the nitty gritty technique, details, and history of each dance, or they can just help you with being a better social dancer. Regardless of what you are looking for; if you want to learn to dance, this is the best place in Dallas!

I’ve been taking private and group lessons at Studio 22 for the past year and have had nothing but great experiences. I had no previous formal dance training prior to this, but the quality of the instructors and classes made it easy and enjoyable to develop not only my skills, but also my confidence to pursue social dancing outside of my lessons.I’d like to give a particular shout out to Michelle, who I’ve been taking Salsa lessons with for the past 10 months. She’s a highly talented, down to earth, and patient teacher who always brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm to class. In group sessions, she and Sergey create a fun and engaging learning environment every week, regardless of the level of the class.

Our private lesson was everything we hoped and then some! We had such a blast and look forward to being back! Aimee was a pure delight and just what our dancing needed!!!! Thank you for helping to make my husband’s birthday date so special!

I’ve had an amazing experience at Studio 22 over the last several years. The salsa group classes I’ve been taking are phenomenal, the beginners is so well thought out and broken down to be achievable by any two left footer like I was when I started going. Intermediate and advanced classes are led with great progressive skills that make dancing funner and better every time. Michelle, Sergey, Terryl and Enio are incredible at what they do and super fun to learn from. The community of dancers is wonderful, we always have a great time in class and dancing around town. 5 stars aren’t enough but Google says will have to do, this studio is amazing!

The people and instructors are so kind. My first classes were salsa with Michelle and Sergey and west coast swing with Wes Neese. They gave incredible high level instruction in a memorable and fun way. I couldnt not come back. I was hooked! Ive worked with Cody and Maya and Jim Weber as well. Same quality of classes! None of the other studios Ive been to even begin to compare in terms of professionalism, instruction, camaraderie, and affordability. Plus parking is really easy here.

Studio 22 is the best dance studio Ive been to in the DFW area. Ive been here since it opened after checking out many other studios & they have the best people from instructors to staff to price & activities. I highly recommend my instructor Michelle (Hafle) that Ive been taking private lessons from for almost 10 years now.By far the best quality of teachers, depending on what you like, all of them are very skilled at their dances and can teach as well. They have reasonable prices for privates & group classes. Friendly staff, amazing social dancing & performances parties, and competition events.

I have had two wonderful instructors (Mya and Michelle) and they could not have been more patient and helpful towards me. Studio 22 is AMAZING!! The staff is seriously so awesome. Michelle, Sergio and the rest of the instructors are so incredible. They really know what they’re doing.. I love studio 22! I take salsa and west coast lessons normally. People at the front desk are always friendly and I havent had any problems with admin. Instructors are great. There is a large variety of dances you can do here but I like to stick to the more social kinds. I have the bronze membership and tbh havent been able to go enough because of work. Its fine since classes roll over, but it might be a better option to buy the 6 class package for $100 to use whenever.

Love this dance studio. I have been dancing with this studio for several years now and it is by far the best in Dallas. The quality of teachers is amazing and believe me when I say I take lessons from them all.The best group classes I ever took and I have tried quite a few.The parties are relaxing and fun. Love this place!! We enjoy both the group classes and also private lessons with Michelle and Sergey. We started taking lessons to be able to dance at weddings and then we had so much fun we kept going. Michelle and Sergey have both danced professionally for years and it is fun to take lesson with them. They offer so many classes to choose from and their parties are a great way to get some additional dancing in. FYI This is where the local celebrities come to learn before they are on Dancing with the Stars.

I’ve been taking virtual classes with Michelle and Sergey the past few weeks and can’t think of enough great things to say about the experience. I had heard about the great community and events Studio 22 hosted, so thought now was as good as time as any to pick up Salsa. I found the class fun and a good learning experience, since both Sergey and Michelle are great teachers who are easy to follow. It was a great way to end the day! I’ll definitely take advantage of the studio once it reopens. If you’re on the fence about trying, go for it!

I had decided I wanted to learn two stepping and convinced hubby into learning with me. We first tried those free lessons at dancehalls for several weeks... Yall, it was NOT sticking!! So I decided wed sign up for a REAL dance studio. Enter Studio22 and BOOM!! We are getting it down!! Jim (instructor) is awesome... and patient... and thorough... and demonstrates steps as much as the group needs. He makes us feel so comfortable in class doing something that is WAY out of our comfort zone!If youve been thinking about dance lessons, Im telling you, this place is awesome. (And Jim has totally got you if you are looking to two step.)

Why do I dance, a complex question to answer. I dance because it is an all around goodness. You get tired, become sweaty, exhausted. You then smile, you feel happy, and relaxed. Then the next lesson start or the next song plays and you do it all over again. Studio 22 creates a great environment to get my dance fix. Great teachers, great facility and the most important really pleasant professional teachers that do care about your learning time at a reasonable price. I am in particular extremely impress with my Argentine Tango “Maestros” of around 7 years; Jarelbhi and George Furlong, as we have been seeking amazing dance education, always using simple, clear instruction and just talk time as needed. I cannot tell you in this short paragraph how much we appreciate our now FRIENDS FOR LIFE teachers. The only regret I might have is not starting to dance earlier in my life.

Studio 22 is a quality dance studio, with the highest quality of Professional Teachers in the metroplex. I was able to start in a class for beginners and gained confidence with Jim Weber and move on to more advanced classes. Initially I began with private lessons because I didn’t have the confidence to be in a class. The class schedule and wide offering of classes accommodates the most complex student schedule. Studio 22 and their Professionals are #1.

Studio 22 is what I would consider Dallas premier dance studio. The instructors bring decades of training, expertise, knowledge, and inspiration to the dance floor, their group classes and in personal instruction. Many of them are well-known nationally and globally. They are incredibly talented, intelligent, motivated, creative, intuitive, and caring. The variety of dance styles and forms offered are too numerous to list. They really care about their students, no matter their level of ability, nurturing, encouraging, and always with remarkable patience and continuity. They provide them numerous avenues to practice and improve their social dance skills, and offer those who want to go farther, to even perform or compete, lots of options to pursue. Personally, the studio, the owners and instructors, staff and students are like my second family. For the last two years, I have taken group classes from almost all the instructors, and private lessons from Cody, Maya and Michelle. I have been able to grow so much through all of this, and allowed both opportunity to perform and compete. The studio is inviting, the owners, instructors and staff are approachable, and they promote family and provide a safe environment for all students.

I was not a dancer by any means growing up and this studio broke down dancing to an incredibly manageable / fundamental way. I have taken both private lessons as well as large group classes and have always felt like the instructors do a great job of making you feel like youre the only person in the room (in a good way!). Individualized attention plus an amazing staff! I cant say enough about the instructors. I have been to other dance studios in the DFW area and have never met such passionate instructors than when I walked into Stuido 22. A must try for anyone looking to change up date night or learn some new moves for an upcoming wedding!!

I have been to other studios, but Studio 22 has the best instructors in the DFW metroplex and offer a ton of different styles of dance.My favorite aspect of the studio, though, is that they treat you like a member of their family as soon as you walk in. Ive only taken 2 lesson as of Tuesday, but we had a friendly welcome upon entering, its a very clean place and Michelle the instructor is great!! Even my girlfriend said, shes one of the best instructors shes seen and I totally agree.

Michelle has transformed our clunky Frankenstein moves into fun, romantic salsa. The folks at Studio 22 make feel relaxed and never awkward or self conscious. Great place!

Aimee was incredibly helpful and made us feel comfortable right away!! In one lesson, she had choreographed a simple father/daughter dance that was easy to execute and looked well planned! Highly recommend!!

I have been attending Studio22 since the opening 10 years ago. Without hesitation, it has been a wonderful experience and if this can be duplicated for the next 10 years, I will be extremely grateful. Whether you want to attend any one of their group classes (there is something for everybody), have a private lesson with one of their instructors, participate in a competition, have fun at their parties or events, you will be able to choose an activity to suit your interests. You might even learn a dance which you never thought you would be able to do. Whatever your age or whether you have had dance experience or not, the studio has instructors more than capable of adding something special to your life. Their cost structure is extremely reasonable.Why not give it a try?

This studio is an amazing place that provides options for multiple dance styles and preferences. The community that has developed around this place is incredible. The instructors are all extremely talented and passionate about their work and teaching. The studio provides ample opportunities to practice your dance in front of small, medium, or large audiences. My husband and I took lessons at Studio 22 in preparation for our wedding. We started out taking a few of the classes in different styles to try a few things and ended up getting along really well with the swing instructors Maya and Cody. Maya worked with us on learning Jitterbug for our first dance. We didnt want a choreographed routine but we wanted to have a few moves to throw in moving about the dance floor. She was great about breaking the moves down and coming up with different ways to explain things if we were struggling and we really looked forward to our lessons. However, she really went above and beyond as we got closer to the wedding. My dad really wanted us to waltz for our father daughter dance but he lives out of state so there was no way for us to practice together and he was taking lessons at a studio near him. Maya was great at communicating, finding out what he was learning up there so she could teach us the same moves and we were able to schedule an appointment with her a few days before the wedding so she could help us work through any of the disconnects. We just got our wedding video back and we are all so proud at not only how great the dancing was but also how relaxed, confident and happy we look. I highly recommend Maya for private lessons if youd like to wow at an upcoming event! The studio is also great and is always putting on fun events, we just joined them for a West Coast Swing lesson down in Deep Ellum as part of the Reimagine Crowdus project and had a blast - perfect date night!

I come to Studio 22 for the salsa classes and I absolutely love the instructors! The frequent rotation system they use in all of their classes, (Salsa 1-3 & Performance), actually helps retain information. Studio22 is my happy place and one of the few reasons why I started liking Dallas recently (I moved here 3 years ago). They have many varieties of dance forms to choose from, and many free classes, parties, events to boot that are just cherry on the top. Ive taken salsa, bachata, West coast swing, cha-cha/rumba classes here and also attended a free progressive double 2-step. All the classes were great!! The instructors are so good, and they make learning a fun process cz how jovial and full of fun they all are! Michelle and Sergey are my most favorite of all! Theyre good looking, great dancers who have performed internationally and won several times and yet are very down to earth, welcoming people. Although I live in Benbrook (SW Fort Worth) I travel to Dallas for George & Jairelbhis Argentine tango group lessons every week, twice a week (and sometimes more). Their classes are full of energy, they are great instructors and great people. I have been going to them for about 8 years now. There is never a dull moment in their classes, they keep it moving and they go around to everyone to help. I recommend them highly.

Studio 22 enjoys an excellent location off Preston/Belt Line, with 3 separate dance rooms for instruction and social events. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, who are ready to assist with questions. I know getting into a social activity such as dancing is intimidating to many - dont let that get in your way. The Studio will help match you with an instructor to the dance you want.We chose West Coast Swing and Wes Neese is an excellent and personable instructor. If your partner cant show or you dont have one, Wes will find a partner for your lesson. Wes will go at your pace and push you onto the next phase when ready. He doesnt mind reviewing previous lessons, answering questions, guiding you gently but pointing out what he wants from you and why. Wes will also give you a lesson video where he summarizes in two minutes what you have learned. Wes makes the dance enjoyable and I cant think of a better instructor for West Coast Swing than Wes.

I love taking lessons with Sergey & Michelle! They are just amazing dancers and helped me improve a lot! They also offer fun events, socials and keep you updated about dancing congresses and events! I made a lot of friends and enjoy the international and open-minded atmosphere!

Ive been going to Studio 22 for a little over a year and Im really addicted to West Coast Swing now...it was iffy at first but the encouragement I got both from the staff and the fellow students kept me coming back! Especially the duo of Wes and Pam with their humor and willingness to share what theyve learned over the years, I dont think I would have stuck to it...everyone has become my second family. It can be challenging but it is truly my fun zone!

Amiee was great! My wife and I worked with Amiee to help us with our first dance. I am a terrible dancer and within two lessons she was able to come up with a dance that we both loved, and teach me how to actually do it. Jim teaches progressive double two step here at Studio 22 and is the best dance instructor I’ve ever had. He’s incredibly patient and doesn’t rush his teachings, so literally anyone can pick it up. Just try it.!!

Be aware. Sadly, a mistake made in billing was not corrected and we were charged for lessons we did not ask for or receive. We communicated in person, on the phone, and by email. We were guided by Studio 22 Representative and followed procedures told to us. We kept records of dates and conversations. We did exactly what Studio 22 Representative told us to do. Be aware.

Poor front office business Mgmt. Dance lessons themselves fine , but front office not accommodating at all. Especially on first time customers who are looking to be longtime clients. They obviously don’t care about repeat business because they don’t go out of their way to make things work out. Definitely don’t try the Groupon route - fail for sure
