Quick trip from OKC, have been wanting to try this place. Beautiful decor, inside and out. We came on a Sunday, where there is an option to sample lots of tapas style plates. This offered a great variety of of things to try. We ordered the flaming skull dessert, did not disappoint. Pretty cool thing to see, much BIGGER than we expected. 💗
Came here for my boyfriend’s birthday, the place was beautiful and they have complimentary valet. The food was delicious we got queso, flautas, quesadilla stack and churros for dessert. The hostess was sweet! However, our server seemed to be too busy to refill our drinks or check in at all, many times we had to ask other servers to refill our drinks that is the only reason I’ll be rating a 4/5 otherwise it would be 5/5. Other than that, I would go back because the ambience and food is worth it!
***UPDATE 8/3/24 I have personally spoken with the GM, and he offered to make it right. He has invited me and my guest for a night out. He was really nice and apologized for the horrible experience. He sounded very sincere, and I will take him up on his offer soon. I will update then and do a whole new review.UPDATE!! AS OF 7/26/24 Be AWAREKeep your receipt because if your server is Christan, he will update your tip without your consent. I dont have my receipt anymore, but I will be disputing the charge and calling since I left my contact information and no one has called me from their relations department yet. You give bad service, you get the tip you deserve, not what YOU want to give yourself. *****This was our first time here, the ambiance was nice, the food was great, my drink Deseama was wonderful. Now, the waiter Christian lacked customer service. When we walked in for our reservation, we had to wait a few minutes, so we went to the bar, grabbed one drink, and our table was ready. Waiter never asked for our drink, I had to ask for a drink. We ordered our food and fajitas, and we had to ask for tortillas because it didnt come with the plate. He said tranquila the kitchen is getting them ready. Im thinking wow the food is going to get cold before they come out. Finally, they came. He never really checked on us, never asked if I wanted another drink, never refilled the soda on the table, and we had to ask for that as well. We wanted dessert, but he seemed to rush to worry about anything we needed, so we didnt ask for anything. He brought the tab and no pen, not even a thank you, just gave me my tab and walked away. What could have been a great first experience was definitely not. It left a bad taste, to say the least. I doubt I return, I had been so anxious to check this place out and finally had the chance for service to ruin our first time here.
From the start, valet attendants friendly, courteous, and polite, safely took care of my vehicle. Entrance greeter very professional. Server knowledgeable of menu. Food excellent. Beautiful restaurant. Love the decor. My son invited me out. Happy I went. My granddaughter loved the quesadilla. The braised short ribs excellent choice.
The food is not very good here; we tried the enchiladas, octopus, fajita, and many dishes. First, the enchiladas were dry, and the octopus appetizer was decent. It was just too burnt like you can taste the burnt char taste. Lastly, the fajitas were a bit better than the rest, but the same for the enchiladas; it was quite a bit tough and dry for the steak. I’d recommend just coming here not for the food but go to their rooftop bar.
Complimentary valet parking. Reservation encouraged. Great food. Rooftop bar/cigar lounge. Service was a okay for a Thursday night, waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about dishes, however she took too long in between table visits to return for refills and/or to take orders. It’s wasn’t busy. Great for date/girls night.
Te Deseo is a restaurant with a very beautiful decoration and its service and attention are excellent. As for the food, it really falls short for me. I ordered a ceviche 2/5, its flavor was overwhelmingly lemon. We ordered 2 more entrees which were simple and small without any impact on its flavor. Basically you are paying for the decoration of the place and its service. You can find the same type of food in any restaurant at a lower price.
I reserved a table to celebrate my anniversary with my wife. You would think that a place as nice as this would provide an outstanding experience but looks can be deceiving. By far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Destiny was our server & the service was horrible. I was only able to order one drink because she never checked on us & not only that but when I tried to order dessert she walked away because the bartender called her over. I do not recommend spending your money here if you plan to dine in. The bars they have are good no complaints there but they seriously need to work on there dine In experience.
We attended one of the tequila dinner experiences for Lalo tequila! The food was spot on, paired perfectly with the Lalo cocktails. Everything was done well and entire crew that works here ensured we had a great experience. The biggest highlight of the evening was our server Gabby. She was hospitable, detail oriented and just down right lovely. Highly recommend requesting her if you come in to dine.
Went for a friends birthday for the 1st time. The ambiance was great, our waitress was good and knowledgeable about the items on the menu(wish I could remember her name). The margarita was nice and strong and the potatoes were seasoned to perfection and the flautas were ok.
I got the fajitas for dinner, which were pretty good. We also got some chicken which was also very good. A taco appetizer got our attention and I recommend it. The flaming skull dessert is not worth it. Its very expensive and tastes burnt after its done. Overall a good, quiet dinner with a dark, intimate atmosphere.
Made a reservation for dinner and then to enjoy the entertainment on the roof after. They have a time limit depending on the size of your party for dinner (I believe that on the weeeknd). Atmosphere was more intimate, lighting was darker then I would like. Customer service was great! I believe it was the manager was friendly and checked on us repeatedly on his rounds. Now the food for me it wasn’t great this review is based on my overall experience and with the food mediocre I take that into consideration. The skull dessert was heavy on the alcohol and due to that we couldn’t enjoy it and ended up not eating it. Upstairs the bartenders were great and attentive. Entertainment started around 9:45 and we danced the night away. Definitely an aesthetically pleasing place.
This club is a great spot if you can appreciate the Latin music scene and visiting from out of town. The security is helpful and friendly. The bartenders are useful with recommendations of whiskey and cigars. And the People who attend this club are very nice.Welcoming and friendly.
Disappointed. The drinks were so good but The food was okay at best & the service was badThey brought me the wrong food, took the plate back to make it & during that the birthday girl had still not received her food while everyone else had theirs and was eating. After dinner we received the check and I asked her if I can pay before she brought out the cake she brings out the cake anyways , ruining the surprise than says oh & i have to charge you for the cake since it’s a outside dessert - $39 dollars - ridiculous. They charged $100 gratuity for terrible service in my opinion save your money / go somewhere else.
Reserved a table at a certain time with friends for a birthday and had proof. Messed up and had us sit outside in the heat, they provided us a big fan but it was still so hot! Flies were landing on our food and drinks. The manager honestly didn’t help at all. I was very disappointed with our experience.
We visited Te Deseo for Happy Hour because it showed up on a recommended list for rooftop happy hours. To say it was disappointment is an understatement. We did enjoy the margaritas and carnitas tacos, but overall their furniture is very unkept. Would come back late at night when the sun is not shining.
The restaurant is very nice and could be much better. The place is dark and we werewere shown to our table. My wife sat on food that was left in her seat and stained her dress. There was food in the floor, on some of the empty tables. When the waiter finally cleaned the table he brushed the food on the table to the floor. During the time we were there no one cleaned the floor. The food was mediocre, but the service was good. The restaurant has potential if were managed better.
I went to this place for a friend’s birthday and the entire experience was kind of bland. I won’t come back!First off, it’s valet only parking which can be frustrating, especially during high traffic times.Second, food was bland, overly expensive, and kind of disappointing. We had the steak with carrot purée and a salad. The broccoli in the salad was REALLY spicy (and I was told by the waiter that it wasn’t supposed to be) and the rest of the salad was SUPER vinegary. The steak was cooked medium rare and was one of the most tasteless stakes I’ve had. I’ve had better steaks at the grocery store! I had to put salt on it just to make it taste good.My friends steak was mostly just fat and barely any real meat.Third, service was mediocre at best. They were kind, and I know it was busy, but the waiter barely checked on us, and one thing that frustrated me was the fact we were forced to tip $30 and then asked to tip more on the receipt!? That’s not okay, especially with what we were paying!Ontop of that, we couldn’t split a check for two people, and were told we had to split it into four tickets because we were a big group. (There were 9 of us)! That was really frustrating and made us spend more than what we wanted to!Fourth, the atmosphere of the restaurant was okay but not fun for large groups, especially trying to celebrate a birthday. It was very loud, dark, and busy. It was hard to hear my friends and the waiter!Overall, I don’t suggest coming here. I had a lot of issues with the entire experience!
I’ve been a couple times and the time before the most recent time was when I experienced the best food out of all the times I’ve been. I’m pretty sure there is a different chef because the food I experience yesterday wasn’t even close to being good. It was cold, bland, I did not enjoy it at all. Even the drinks. Not sure why there is salt in the actual drink vs just being on the rim. I don’t want to drink salt with every sip. Our server and ambience were great though. Prob won’t be back because the cook on the food isn’t consistent
Environment was beautiful, very cool experience! Loved everything. Only thing I can say that was a downfall for myself is the menu is limited. I like seafood and Latin inspired cuisine its just not so much octopus. If you are a picky eater you may have a hard time choosing what to eat on the menu. Other than that everything was great! I ordered the Fajitas, margaritas 🍹. Service was impeccable!
I made reservations to celebrate my birthday a month ahead of time. It was simple they have 6 max but I made a note for 8 and they changed it. So that was good. We got to the restaurant, and sat at the bar while we waited for everyone to arrive. The bar was the best part of the restaurant. The bartenders made an amazing drink. Dinner….we all ordered and the waiter was nice, I felt the quality of the food and the price was not equally yoked. You are definitely paying for the location and ambiance. 18$ for guac, and chips in a little bag, cute presentation but we came to eat. This is not the place to leave full and satisfied. Everything is à la carte. They don’t have lots of items in the menu so I did not feel overwhelmed.Plans were to enjoy a cocktail and cigar after dinner on the roof top, I had called to see if I should reserve and was told no we could just go up after dinner. Well wrong, you have to reserve. And the staff up top is super rude. So birthday ended at 10 because the city was packed, they had multiple events, we couldn’t get in anywhere else. We did find a little patio spot down at the bar and we had one drink before we left and that was the most peaceful spot. Over all, I don’t plan on doing it again. Nothing was inviting another visit. But for some great photo opportunities and being downtown! Do it.
Our experience with your restaurant was not pleasant . The hostess sat my group in a secluded hallway. While there were plenty of open tables on the other side of the restaurant. The vibe was not welcoming. At all , we will not dine at Te deseo again . To top it off the server with the red hair was very rude . She took one of our sides without asking if we had finished eating yet !
The restaurant offers a great vibe for those date nights or adult get togethers. Food is good as well as the drinks. After 10 the DJ starts and music sets the mood. The only downfall is that it does get packed and hard to get drinks and get through. Also parking will be difficult since two restaurants sit on this corner so come early. Other than that good atmosphere and service.
To their credit the food is pretty good. But they dont seem to understand appetizers and then dinner, choosing instead to bring it all at once. Its a bigger deal since we specifically talked about waiting to put in entree order and were assured could place it all at once and the timing would be fine. The server did apologize, but thats hardly the point. So if you want a rushed experience, enjoy...we were looking for a more relaxing night out.
First time dining, sat on the patio to get fresh air. Zach was wonderful from start to finish especially with his recommendations. Food was really savory even the Octopus, ate it all! Thank you Chef. Moved indoors, where it was very dimly lit and comfy. But eventually moved upstairs, where it was chill until it became lively and fun atmosphere by the end of the night. David was quick to say hello and serve, great margarita recommendation since I didnt know the specific specialty drinks. Then ...ah girl took over, I cant remember her actual name but she was attentive and can make a good green tea. Thanks for everything from beginning to end.
Slow, slow service. Our server Anna took forever to come over each time for the initial greet, drink order and food order. When it was time for the check, we asked 3 different people, who all declined to assist because they were not our server. I even went to the host to see if we could get assistance, nobody was at the front. Finally got our check after waiting for 25 minutes.Drinks too sweet, restaurant was so dark, our group did not know what we were eating. It was a dining in the dark experience sans the blindfold. Definitely not worth coming back.
Weve visited Te Deseo many times to celebrate birthdays. The ambiance is great, the food is always fresh and the service outstanding. I made a reservation for 8, for my husbands birthday. This particular visit, our server seemed unconcerned about our party of 8. We couldnt locate her when we needed her, and half our guests frequented the bar for alcoholic drinks and water refills. My husband, daughter and I ordered the Chaufa rice. Initially it was delivered with no egg. The waitress tried to convince me it was there, however when I asked her to show it to me, she couldnt find it. She reluctantly brought out a new order. The second order had only 3 very small shrimp... no avocado. My daughter and husband ordered the rice as well, and were disappointed. I left the meal uneaten on the table. We provided couple reminders for the presentation of the birthday dessert (birthday note was included with reservation). It was presented with no candle, though we saw others around us with a lit candle. Our reservation was at 7:45p. We began receiving bills until 10:14p. It was a really long night.
This is a hard review to leave I brought my fiance here for our monthly date night. The positive side of the review the food was hot and fresh and great. The environment was great very vibrant. Now the negative side of the review was the fact that they have the nerve to sit people in a area without air and not even do something about it. Then the fact that our waiter was stuck with two big tables so that left us fending for ourselves looking for someone to help us. Overall the food and atmosphere was great but until yall do something with the air me or my fiance will not return
Went here for “Sunday Funday” with the hubby. The braised short rib was amazing! Our server Mika was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Really enjoyed the cocktail she whipped up for me after mentioning I wasn’t a fan of tequila. We will definitely be coming back.
Update: His response to my review just proves my point.I gave a star just so I can let the Owner know that I was planing to go to your place, but since I see more bad than good comments, I rather go somewhere else like Abuelos, or any other nice restaurant. I also noticed the automatic response from the owner, it just says the same thing to everyone, which makes me think he doesnt give a cricket to whats going on at his place.
Wow, super fun spot. I went here for a business dinner with a huge group of people. Dinner was served family style. They were able to accommodate my vegetarianism without any problem. The food was delicious, the decor was creative and very well done. Upstaris has an open air bar/dance floor with a DJ. Such a great spot to get dinner and do a bit of dancing to regatone after.
The restaurant was recommended to me and did not disappoint. We were a group of 6 and enjoyed our dinner here. The service was very attentive and gave us good recommendations; especially the vegetarian option was very tasty. We had a table inside in quiet area as requested. Thank you
Wow what a beautiful restaurant! The ambiance and vibe is amazing but food was a hit or miss. We started with the guacamole which was full of flavor and the chips were fresh, crispy and with a spicy seasoning. The next dish, which was recommended by a server, was the spicy noodle dish. I particularly thought it was under season but my friend on the other hand thought it was good. The server also recommended the prawn skewers for the next course. My friend and I thought it was overcooked and dry. The only upside to the skewers dish was all the amazing sauces it comes with. The server also recommended the octopus dish which was phenomenal! The octopus was tender and full of flavor! I would totally come for this dish! For dessert we had a chocolate mousse cigar! This was far beyond my expectations! It actually looks like a cigar and was so tasty!! I would definitely come back just for this dessert!! This restaurant is only open for dinner and stay open late. I highly would recommend making a reservation and the is valet parking available.
First of all I love the dimly lit ambiance of this place. It gives you a relaxing feeling which makes it a great date night spot. I ordered the Diabla shrimp tacos & picante margarita. The Diablo shrimp tacos was a symphony of textures and flavors. Spicy grilled shrimp with punctuated with chipotle slaw and fresh corn hot tortillas. Margaritas on point for taste as well. My waiter was very attentive and friendly as well. Looking forward to coming here again.
Came here because I had seen pictures on social media. The drinks have no taste, the food has no taste either and feels very bland. The interior of the restaurant is very dark.We ended up only having appetizers and one round of drinks and left to go eat next door at Happiest Hour. If you are deciding between here and Happiest Hour, I would recommend Happiest hour.
I absolutely LOVE this place… the area is beautiful and all the staff are really kind and hospitable… I must acknowledge Daniel, Lewis, and January ! These 3 men are AMAZING… they make for a great experience with laughter and joy… very knowledgeable of the menu and they understand customer satisfaction. The drinks and food are ALWAYS immaculate in taste and presentation! I highly recommend this place ! # 1 stop on my list to have a great atmosphere, good food/drinks, and a pleasurable experience!
Drinks were great here, the Maluma baby is a must! Food was decent, but there are better options (especially considering price) in the area. Was a little dissappointed in the staff. Waiter never came to check on us or bring us the remaining food. We were only comped 1/2 of 1 meal... Id only recommend for photo ops and drinks...
Whew . As much as I wanted to try this place I went there on my birthday and I was turned away due to wearing hard bottom sandals. My attire wasn’t even casual as I had on a very nice suit. I understand each establishment has their own desired brand and image that they appeal to ; however , it’s very pointless to try and convey this upscale image when you have people entering the restaurant in dirty sneakers and cut off booty shorts. I also seen other patrons entering the restaurant in slides which appeared to be shower or beach slides. The guy was also very rude and dismissive about the matter and it definitely left a bad impression. I won’t be patronizing this establishment and honestly don’t recommend anyone else to either until they fix their customer service and also revisit their dress code.Update 2/14I finally decided to give this establishment another chance and take my partner there for valentine’s day. There was a preset 3 course menu with a few selections for the first course , second course , and dessert.Upon entering the restaurant it seems the hostess table was in a frequent rush which is understandable due to it being busy. We were immediately seated in an area outside the main area which seems like it missed the ambiance of the night. Our server was amazing and very attentive he even escorted me to the restaurant to show me the way.The food was very very subpar and simply bland. For it to be $85 per person I expected more. Somethings were room temperature and not served hot and somethings just seemed rushed as if I were at an all inclusive resort buffet. The drinks were definitely the star of the night. The pours were generous and the drinks were refreshing. Whoever the bartender was for the night I could definitely tell they knew what they were doing.Ambiance 3/5Food 2/5Service 5/5Drinks 5/5
I don’t think I would come here again, by choice. I know they are fairly new, however service was pretty slow. They brought 3 dishes out first and then we had to wait an extra 20 mins for the last dish. Which were only okay, we ordered a lot of small plates. Drinks were good, decorations are very nice. BUT is this a restaurant or a club?? It’s kind of pathetic that the line was super long when we left and didn’t even get to go upstairs because they were “at capacity” at 10pm...If you want to eat and then get upstairs I recommend having reservations before 8.
Beautiful date night hot spot. This place is owned by Harwood and is usually used for parties and other events, but when it’s open to the public it’s a fantastic place to be. They used to have breakfast but since Covid are now open for dinner. I miss the breakfast. The main room has a sunroof that opens up but the evening is the most romantic.
We came here for my friend’s birthday on Saturday night. I made a reservation on opentable, at first I accidentally chose outside seating but changed it to standard seating. When we showed up, the hostess wanted to seat us outside and said our table confirmation doesn’t mean inside, which didn’t make any sense. Anyway, she finally let us sit at a table inside and said we needed to be done in an hour or so for the next reservation. We ended up finishing a little later but nobody came to hurry us up which was nice. Now to the food/drinks and service at the table! For drinks, we got the brazillionaire, pisco sour, and the Centro (with the popsicle). All were really good! We also ordered a bottle of sparking wine later, and it was nice that they have a good selection! For food, we shared some appetizers: the elote, brisket flautas, the mixto ceviche. The seafood in the ceviche was very fresh and the heirloom tomatoes went really well with it. The elote was so creamy and delicious, the brisket flautas came in three and were pretty good as well. After that, we each got an order of the shrimp tacos which were really good, I love the green salsa and the freshness of the shrimp. Our waitress was so sweet and brought my friend a surprise dessert and that flan was very good. I like the different textures of the flan, the waffle cracker in the middle of the flan, and the different fruits.Service at the table was great, our waitress gave us good recommendations, the food came out quickly. We didn’t expect much for the food here but they ended up being very good.Afterwards we went upstairs to the rooftop. It was very pretty and would be nicer in a few months when it cools down. I like the Latin music that they were playing, definitely a fun place and I will be back!
Te Deseo is one of the best, if not the best, restaraunt Ive ever been to. The waiters were very friendly and made helpful recommendations. They checked in every while or so to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The atmosphere was dimly lit and elegant, the entire place was beautiful. The food was exceptional. I hope to come again.
Just tried this place we sat in the bar and love the vibe. Let me just say that Zach the bartender working was amazing! Probably the BEST skinny margarita I’ve had and I’ve had a few!!! Fajitas were great tender beef and yummy beans and tortillas! We will be back to drink with Zach!
Decided to try something new for mothers day. So we picked this place for dinner. Unfortunately I wasnt impressed. Not that the service was bad, it was just slow...we ordered drinks we never got and when we received the bill we noticed they were charging us for them. I had to ask them to please adjust the bill and felt like I was being a nuisance. We ordere the chips and queso and thought it was odd they just bring the chips in a paper bag?? We sat waiting for a long time, and when they brought out the food we got it all at once..no time to enjoy the appetizer since now it was part of the meal. Needless to say, I wasnt impressed and definitely wont be back.
An honest review for dining area, it was mid. Below average.Went on a Friday night at 730 pm with reservations.I was hopeful that chips and salsa would come at any minute but they don’t serve any, boo.First disappointment. But the queso was alright. The atmosphere was loud and dark. Very loud. If you’re planning a full on conversation across the table it’s not even worth it. You basically have to yell to be heard.Ordered margaritas, strawberry and classic. They were ok and strong. Honestly I’ve had better for the price. $14 a margarita.Fajitas were good. Not disappointed but it doesn’t come with rice and beans. You get those separately and they’re large portions. The rice tasted like hibachi rice. Wasn’t bad just threw me off. Salsas need improvement.Dessert was good. Overall I would not return for dining. But only the rooftop and drinks I’d go to if I did return.
The ambience is beautiful. The service staff was very friendly. I ordered the Vegetarian Quesadilla & it came in so greasy, mushy, and poorly taste. I didn’t even eat them all. The worst part was I got Food Poisoning after we left the restaurant. We were at the Mavs Playoffs 1st home game & it was embarrassing and uncomfortable that I had to run to the toilet twice. The last trip I almost passed out. I called and spoke to their Manager Robert Wilkes. He was rude, defensive, and very unhelpful. We certainly NOT coming back again and will let the word out…
I recently was have experienced one of my friends put on a short ban from garret one of the security managers, because one of his friends didn’t like my friend. I didn’t pay no mind to it and waited for my friend to be welcomed back. After the time was reached we came back to the club and garret word for word said “actually I change my mind your permanently ban” I have never dealt with a security with such a power trip and this isn’t the first of many friends that had issues with this guy.
Honestly very disappointed to try this restaurant and walk out 30 minutes into our reservation. We waited 10 minutes to be greeted and sat for our reservation and then sat at our table for 15 minutes without being greeted by a server or anyone for that matter. This sucks because the place is really cute and looks like a great time.
Overall restaurant was good. Waiter steered us in a direction to the better foods. Food was fairly priced. Drinks moderate to high. Open roof. Overall good until the end where we were supposed to access roof bar through the restaurant and bypass the line and we got left at the elevator with no instruction. We got frustrated and just left.
I visited them during happy hours Thursday , we arrived first at the bar, there was no one there and the bar tender decided to ignore us and then attended to other customers once they arrived. It was a clear episode of racism, the staff did respond well but I didn’t wanna get back with such individuals so we went to happiest hour, a bar right in front of them.
I enjoyed my first visit to Te Deseo. Took me an embarrassing amount of time to locate the complimentary valet, but I eventually found my way 😁 The ambiance is everything. Theres a big beautiful fireplace that makes you feel cozy and at home. My waiter, Kevin, pretty much took my dining experience to a new level. This guy was so professional but also made me feel like I was talking to a friend. He answered all questions my friend I had about the menu. Not once did he make us feel we were taking up too much of his time. We appreciate his patience.I decided to order the Diablo Shrimp Tacos and Chimichurri Potatoes. The tacos were delish. I know its good to order something different each time you visit a restaurant, but next time I visit Te Deseo Ill be ordering the shrimp tacos again.Everything about this place is enjoyable and inviting.
I went for my birthday. The service was lacking. I got the charred octopus, I’ve had it before, but this time it was completely burnt. The upstairs bar was so incredibly loud that I was losing my mind from the repetitive base bumping for like 2 hours straight.
This place is absolutely amazing. Everything I ate was delicious and we had a smorgasbord of food. Enchiladas, shrimp tacos, quesadillas, queso Blanco, guaca6, elote, chicken flautas and more. And the drinks! I cant remember the name of the on I had but it had ginger in it which I typically hate in a drink , but this one was perfectly balanced.I gave the atmosphere 4 stars only because it was so dark I couldnt read the menu without using the light on my phone, but I will definitely go again!
Cristian was a Devine character who had the best service I have experienced. Very attentive, courteous and respectful. The food is amazing and the rooftop bars have the best views
This place is everything and than some....truly grown and very sexy Ambience. Shaun’s serving world class service on the first floor and Logan’s preparing your favorite cocktails 🍹 🍸 and don’t forget to tap into her cigar knowledge....she want disappoint you. Unfortunately, I don’t recall the managers name but she’s one of the best in the business at defusing conflict and resetting the tone of your experience to assure you enjoy every moment spent at Te Deseo! Shaun gave us a tour and I applaud every effort the company has put into assuring each room has its on look and feel but cohesively complements one another...truly a treat. This place has only been open 3 weeks and serval colleagues suggested I not miss the opportunity to experience good food and the best skyline in Downtown Dallas. Toast to Te Deseo!!! 🎉🥳
Food was good although pricey. Staff was friendly. We had a reservation but we were sat 20 minutes after our reservation time. One of our party then got the wrong dish, they quickly corrected and brought out the right dish, but it was cold. Manager was very apologetic and made up for the error. Chilean sea bass and arepas were menu highlights. Be sure to check out the rooftop bar before you leave, but get there early, as it gets very crowded.
You’re paying for the ambiance here. The rooftop bar is nice with a good view of the city. I can see this being a great place in the spring. I had the Chilean Sea Bass as my main and the fish was beautifully cooked but I wasn’t a huge fan of the rice that came with it.I highly recommend the sea bass ceviche! It was to die for and I wish I had more. It comes with tortilla chips and jalapeño popcorn, surprisingly really good! The churros were huge and chocolate dip was warm and beautiful. I also ordered the flan and it was creamy just sweet enough to hit the spot and the bottom half was actually tres leches (a little dry for my liking but still enjoyable).I’m giving this place 4 stars solely on the fact I think it was a tad over priced for the portions but like I said, you’re paying for the instagramable plates and the fun wallpaper!
Last year I set up my friends birthday dinner and the Manager Matt was real helpful and informative...... Fast forward to a year later for my birthday. It it did not pan out the same. Our wait time after being sat was 10-15min before we got helped and thats only because I went to the front desk. We ordered drinks that we didnt receive until we all got the food we ordered and just know we ordered steak. The glasses were not kid friendly so my 3yo niece spilled her drink on accident and they dont even have a kids menu so we caught the hint. Our food was pretty good for 5 out of 8 due to portion and vegetarian selection for 2 of us. Refills were behind for I think our waitress was overbooked you could say. I did receive a birthday treat at the end which was good, but I wouldnt take kids there again. It could have definitely been better because I have seen and received better. Not sure if Ill be going back.
Amazing! We decided to share small plates and tried a little bit of everything. Our favorite was the ceviche trio. We also tried the nachos, elote, guacamole, empanadas, shrimp skewers, and octopus. Everything was delicious. We had been here for drinks before and we will definitely be back for the food. Our waitress was awesome as well.
We went on a Sunday so it was more chill. Drinks were good, food was really good and the service was fast. We sat in the bar downstairs, rooftop was nice too but we really liked the bartender and vibes downstairs
Food was amazzzing!! Felt so light, super picky eater but thought the queso and brisket tacos were amazing!! Tori was our server and she killed it! Would 1000% go back again!!
Te Deseo – where your desires for a good meal and decent service go to die! The hostesses clearly didn’t care about the guests and were aloof. The waitstaff must have been practicing the ancient art of invisibility, considering how long it took for someone to acknowledge our existence. Maybe they thought I came for a Latin meditation retreat instead of a meal.As for the food, well, lets just say Ive had more flavorful experiences chewing on celery. I ordered a Yellowtail dish that had a fancy name but tasted like it had been seasoned with disappointment. If bad service and overpriced bland food are what you desire, then Te Deseo is your gastronomic soulmate!
We went to celebrate our 13th anniversary. Perfect place for a romantic dinner. Prices are $$, we tried the picada Argentina which for me it was a bit pricey considering it doesnt come with any sides(only meat), it says its a family plate but I would say its good for 2 or maybe 4 if they are not a big eaters. We ordered guacamole and it was really good.. we had no drinks and payed $175 for 2. So its a bit of money for not much food. But overall we enjoyed it. The upstairs its closed weekdays so if are looking for a good pictures you wont get any bc its too dark.
Ceviche with no lime or tomato, really not a ceviche dish. Meat skewers incredibly tough. Enchiladas with no taste at all. Terrible service, server got lost for over 20 minutes. Valet service took over 10 min even when we left at 11pm, so nobody in line in front of us. Just don’t go there.
Horrible service from the bartender working downstairs at the bar! And when I asked for the manager she LIED and said there wasn’t one working. I had to flag down another staff member who provided us the manager. Which doesn’t make sense, because if you think you’re right, why lie! I definitely am reaching out to corporate and the GM, in additionally to my lawyer on retainer first thing Monday morning because the amount of unprofessionalism and disrespect from this establishing is unacceptable!
Do not ever eat Ribeye bone in, because they will charge as a Market Price, the market price is nothing compare for what you get, I got charged $175 I truly felt Robbed, I Do not recommend this place to eat. Look at the picture is this 32 oz? Hail not. The bone smelled as a raw meat. Manager gave me 2 free meals but still 3 meals $175 pls tax and drink $255 still robbed 😩 look the big bone Lol 32 oz within the bone weight I would never eat again in this place. Not recommended at all! You get more eating in Longhorn and Saltgrass.
Teya was our server and she was fantasticccc. She paid great attention to detail and the bartenders Louis , Michaela, and T were great as well. I’ll for sure be back! 10/10
The weather was perfect, the ambiance was fantastic and the food was great. This place is a must try, especially for Sunday brunch. I had La Colombiana... and it was top notch. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Dallas no doubt. Love the colors, especially the Laguna Seca blue tree in the atrium!
Okay, so the food was fantastic. The service was good as well. BUT! And its a HUGE BUT!1. Never, EVER let influencers sit in the main dining area and use a damn spotlight to take pictures and videos.....over and over and over. The damn light being used was not a phone but a handheld light. It was rude and obnoxious and made the night not so enjoyable because the light was very bright in a very cozy dark room. It shined right in our eyes. Put them in some back room with no people, for Gods sake.2. You never ever try to slip a different drink by someone because you ran out of a specific tequila. I let the waiter know I got someone elses drink, but when he came back, he let me know that they ran out of the Jalapeño tequila, so they just brought me a regular one. Like I would not notice? Why would you not tell me? He blamed it on the bartender. He ended up bringing me another drink with fresh Jalapenos, which sadly was too hot to drink, although it was very tasty. Two huge no-nos.Updated 2/12/2024:I have changed my rating to a 1 star due to the fact that (the owner) did not even read the review but only paid attention to the star rating. Wont make it long term in Dallas with this kind of management.
This is a great restaurant where they have a variety of dishes and drinks. My server Christian Sebastiano went above and beyond with his great Customer service. He was very detailed and self-explanatory where he offers Me different options in menu always smiling very kindly. I really recommend this place If you want to have a great time with your family, or with a friend
Love the atmosphere, perfect for date night! Our server Ana was fantastically cheerful and added to our experience!
We went here for the night scene to celebrate a friends birthday. When we arrived we did Valet and the Valet gentleman asked us to pay before we were even out of the car. Which no problem its was weird to me they would ask before instead of after when we would be leaving the place but we zelled him again and paid no biggie. When we were leaving and walked out to Valet to ask for our vehicle the same gentleman came over and asked us again “where was our money as he had yet to receive it” my husband mentions to him “ we already paid, you made us pay when we got here” and the guy didnt push any further. Sounds to me like Valet is running a scam by making you pay before hand and potentially running in to people that have had a few drinks and asking them to pay again on the way out! Beware if you do decide to do Valet here.
We visited here from NY. I can’t recommend this spot enough for a date night. The indoor is moody, sensual and romantic. They play the best Latin beats. Although we had no reservation, they were willing to seat us at one of the best spots in the restaurant (by the fire), when we told them it’s our anniversary. The wait time was short too. They offer an awesome view of the Dallas skyline. The food was great, the portions are small but we liked that as we got to order a bunch of different items and share them. Loved the drinks too, this is a place with a good pour.My recommendation is to get here early on a weekend like around 9-10 as it gets very packed to get in as the night goes on, when we were leaving there was a line outside extending to the streets. If we come back to Dallas, we will definitely be revisiting this spot.
Beware of the predatory waiters. We came here for the first time for a girls night out and left with a huge bill. Having never been here before, we obviously asked the waiter for recommendations. We asked for something to share, and he suggested one of the larger meat dishes, it was $145, and he said repeatedly that it came with two sides. Even asked us to chose our sides when we selected the meat platter. We each ordered a $14 margarita, no biggie, and he interrupted us to ask which tequila we wanted. We asked what the difference was and he went on some spiel about smoothness. Okay. Then we get the bill and we were charged for each side dish separately and Mr Cristian didn’t feel it necessary to mention that the $14 margaritas turned into a $38 margaritas based on the “smoothness” of the tequila. Apparently mentioning that a drink price more than doubles isn’t worth mentioning when your customer asks what the difference between two offerings are. I think it’s interesting the dish HE recommended and HE said came with two sides was now suddenly individually priced. I don’t have a problem with a $400 ticket when I know that I made those selections but I do have a problem when it was the waiter being less than honest and taking advantage of a customer’s first time at a restaurant that contributed to a bill. It won’t be our last girl’s night out but it will definitely be out last night dining at “Te Deseo.”
Our Reservations was at 9pm we got there at 9:10 when we sat down the waiter told us we had 20m to order. Rushed our order our drinks and appetizers main course and dessert he did not take our food order right. We asked for medium and medium well ribeye and he gave us medium rare. The place was almost empty. While we were finishing our food he came by and took our food while we were eating to clear the table. I have never been rushed to eat my food at any restaurant . He later told us the cleaning crew is coming in 20m and we needed to be out of there. While he gave us our check while we were still eating. My friend told him that if they were going to rush us that they should not take reservations at 9 he said that they don’t handle when reservations are made. Then with a attitude said we got there late and he could go check when we made out first order. The food was okay. The place is nice but the service is the worst!!!!! And the place had roches. I have a video. Do not recommend this place.3/31 UpdateContacted the email below and never got a reply or response back.
The atmosphere was great. We went on a Thursday evening and at the perfect time before the late night rush! The service was quick, and the staff was knowledgeable and attentive. The side and small plates were enough to share with 3 people. The guacamole was the BEST I have ever had, and Ive been to a lot of Latin, Mexican, etc., restaurants. The queso was pretty good, and I loved that the chips came in individual bags. The fried rice twist was delish, and the flautas were huge! I had the brisket tacos. They were just okay; the meat could have been a bit tender, but the flavor was good. Those skillet potatoes...OMG, and its a shareable side for a decent price!
10 out of 10.I recently visited Te Deseo for Ladies Night and my birthday. Everything was great from the food to the drinks.
We had a private event here (great second floor); the bartender Zach absolutely nailed it. Super accomodating, great drinks, The service was above and beyond and it just really made me smile. Thanks to the whole team!
Dined here for my birthday celebration. Everything from arrival and seating and especially the service in betweencourses and the drinks were impeccable. The service was literally more than I had ever experienced. The waitresses were very intuitive and prompt! Loved sitting at the bar and then being able to enjoy the food.Very very detail oriented and delicious.
Amazing! Super cute date spot. Gotta get the chocolate skull for desert if you have a few people to enjoy it! Staff was outstanding! Love it!
Love love loved, My birthday Dinner!Staff was super sweet from the front of the door to even upstairs. Richard was a great bartender and server was so sweet! ( forgot her name ): ) Would Highly recommend eating here on a date or with a nice group of friends! Food was amazing, definitely check out their arrepas!!!!
This was my second time coming, I came in with a group of friends and decided to join the fun upstairs on the rooftop. Great views, the music is so much fun! Definitely a little crowded but with the weather cooling down it was still enjoyable. I was actually taken care of by the same bartender who helped me the first time I came in and she was amazing! She gave us a round of candy shots for my friends birthday and on top of that she remembered our drinks each time we came up to her! Super attentive, a lot of fun, Liliana (or lily?) is definitely your bartender to go to!
I love the atmosphere and staff here. Everyone was extremely nice during my recent dinner. Ana G went above and beyond to take care of our table. She was very attentive and sweet. I enjoyed my food and drinks. Having a roof upstairs is a plus :)
The food was amazing!! We had the fajitas and a side of rice. Every bite was so flavorful and the rice was cooked to perfection! Compliments to the chef!Outside of having incredible food, the ambiance was nice and romantic. I would highly recommend and will be visiting again soon!
The place was wonderfulDecorating it was beautifulThe music was good after 9:00The server was kindThe food tested greatBut the price is kinda expensiveFor example the quesadilla steak was good but unfortunately it was small ( I mean small its like they got only two small tortillas and cut them into 2 pieces each one) and it was 16$. But after all that I say that its a great place to take out a loved one or hang out with friends.
A group of friends and I celebrated my friends Birthday at Te Deseo. We made reservations for dinner. Let me tell you it was a great experience. Our waitress Anna made it even better she was very attentive and made sure my friend had a great experience on her birthday. The drinks were so good! The music on the roof top was a plus. We will definitely be going back.
Ambiance and aesthetic were nice. Food and drinkswere not good. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were the smallest shrimp I ever seen. I expected full size shrimp for the price. I also ordered one of their most popular cocktails and it was watered down. Will not be visiting this place again. Better Mexican cuisine restaurants with better drinks and food. This place is just beautiful on the inside.
I was recently in town for a conference and my daughter invited me to this restaurant because she heard so much about it. Well!!!!!! Let me tell you this did not disappoint. We decided to sit at the bar. Martin, purr bartender was the absolute BEST. He recommended drinks ( that coconut margarita 🔥🔥) and the food. The decor, service, and staff was amazing. Thanks so much Martin.
I can’t even book a reservation for a birthday dinner. I tried calling every day for the last week but nothing. Their online website for booking sucks. I called them, no answer. I left a voicemail, no response. I even messaged them on Instagram, they replied saying try the website even though I said in my message that the website isn’t working. It’s very unprofessional of them, maybe this will get their attention.
Been wanting to go to this place for a while now and was disappointed. I went last night to celebrate my anniversary with my boyfriend and the table they sat us at one of the utensils was dirty and I ask the waiter if they clean that table before they sat us down and he didn’t say anything about the table being clean or anything just took the fork. Didn’t even ask us if we wanted any drinks just took our food order. And then I ask him for a sprite and he never brought it to me. When he saw we were all done eating he ask us if we wanted our check didn’t even apologize for not bringing my sprite over all didn’t feel welcome.
Do not come here if you are a large party. We did not know about this policy they have. There’s nothing in the restaurant or online that says this policy nor the host said anything about it. It was 11 people and 1 toddler who did not eat but they still counted her as a adult. So for our 12 people we had to hit a limit of spending at least $900 + the %18 gratitude tip + taxes. So We all ate and dranked but still didn’t hit our minimum amount to spend. Our total was about $800 but since our minimum is supposed to be $900 they added a charge to our bill called “open table for $140” so we can hit the minimum amount of money we needed to spend which was $900. The manager and the host were being aggressive and the host was being really snappy yelling saying she did tell us in the beginning but she did not!!! Then she kept telling us not to yell at her even tho she was being snappy and being loud and defensive! We are going to give you the same energy! The manager was forcing us to order shots to make our total “$900” but we all refused since we were all full and didn’t want to drink anymore. The manager ended up calling the cops because we were all refusing to order more things. The cops tried to dispute the $140 extra charge because they understood where we were coming from. But the manager refused and stated it’s a policy and there wasn’t much the cop could do at that point. We asked for something in writing because we don’t see this “policy” anywhere in restaurant or on the menu or online! They took 30 min “printing” this form (really they were making something up on the computer real quick that’s why it took so long). We ended up paying the $140 but never again coming here.
One of my favorite places to go to! The vibes, food, drinks, music and service is always great! Definitely recommend if you want to have a good time. make sure to ask for Ana as your server the next time you are there. Her service is always top notch! Positive attitude, friendly, fast and is always a pleasure to be around
Worst service ever! We went there to celebrate a friends birthday and our waitress was serving only to large party tables (I guess she was more focused on THEIR tip). When our food finally came, it was not good at all. The shrimp tacos were the worst Ive ever had in my life- those shrimp were not even tasty and super small... definitely not coming back. Drinks were mediocre at best and came more than 30 minutes after being requested. The lighting is very dark and it gets super loud. The patio is nice, but we werent seated there.Shoutout to Edgar and Brandon for taking over our table and salvaging our experience there. There are definitely nicer and better dining options in the area, would suggest to avoid.
Cam was the man! He was serving the bar, but took over our table on a short staff.Keep up the hustle, it doesnt go unnoticed!!!!
The host was extremely rude and unwelcoming. I came in on cinco de mayo and greated poorly walking in. She mentioned immediately no walk ins today only reservation. Ive visited this establishment before so im aware i can book a reservation. The original plans were to go to mexican sugar but due to a chemicalSpill they shut down the establishment so we decided to come back to te deseo since we had a good experience before. The host was extremely rude and informed me we cant even hop online to make a reservation. So my boyfriend made one anyway. We walked back to the podium and she mentioned she can now seat us. Yea she’s terrible and super unprofessional. A host should be welcoming. Find another job because this isnt it
Outstanding food, service was a little slow on Wednesday. The place was dead too, not sure why. Weekends are better.
Food was not good. Charged a $25 cake fee for bringing a cake. And didn’t not notify guests beforehand. They just added they extra fee. No thanks.
Loved the atmosphere, and the service was great. Went to great lengths to ensure our needs were met. Maybe adding more choices for vegetarians would be good. The skull dessert was simply WOW!
My experience at Te Deseo was AMAZING! The second I walked in everyone was very welcoming! My server Ana was the sweetest and she recommended amazing cocktails and dinner since that was my first time dining in at the restaurant. Ana had the most positive attitude and was very attentive! Ask for Ana and you won’t be disappointed! Will definitely be going back!
5/5 To start off the ambiance of the place is beautiful. My server Rosa was not only very attentive, she was also super kind and made us feel very welcomed! It was our first time visiting and she made the experience amazing. When our food came out it was nice and hot. Over all it was a great first time experience. We will definitely be coming back and asking for Rosa to take care of us!
Came here on a date and the first server,Christian, seemed to be rushing us and told us we had a time limit after we had just arrived . I think Christian had to leave before we ordered so Edgar took over our table and he was amazing ! He has such a bubbly personality & was so patient although we were sure what to order . His smiling face made me is feel so welcome and kept checking on us to make sure we were comfortable. I will definitely be back and recommend to my friends :)
Good place for drinks, Happy hour has some really good prices and drink selection. Had amazing customer service, waiter was very knowledgeable about menu and gave excellent recommendations. Beautiful place for anniversary, birthday, date night or just a good evening out. Complimentary valet was a great amenity especially in the downtown area.
Celebrated wifes birthday. Selected the family style option for our party of 7. Food was amazing. Atmosphere very relaxed as we casually enjoyed our meal and conversation. Before leaving we danced on the rooftop bar. Taught my daughter how to dance the Rumba.
Very fun place, just needs to improve food a little to match the vibes and service. My group had a bartender (Kasey or Kaden or something like that) and he really made the experience incredible. Not only had great recommendations but taught my out-of-town coworkers some Spanish and some Texan slang, which they loved. I got rave reviews at work for the choice, and will definitely be back next time I need to show people a good time!
The food and the atmosphere are amazing. I love that they offer free Valet parking of course we tipped the Valet. I would suggest getting there before 9 and making a reservation if you are dining in because if you dont there can be up to a 2 hour wait. But if you do have to wait you can enjoy cocktails at the bar on the 1st floor or on the patio which also has a bar or enjoy a cigar in there cigar room while you wait. I loved that they had options. The staff is Super friendly and professional. The food is delicious extremely flavorful but not overpowering Brandon was our waitor he was an excellent server very knowledgeable about the menu my fiance has food allergies so he knew exactly which dishes to recommend. The view from the Patio is Amazing. And the decor in the restaurant is just breath taking prices are extremely reasonable for a nice restaurant. We spent about 200.00 between 3 people which included desert. All in all I give this place a 10 out of 10 we will definitely be back and be telling our friends about this place. And we will definitely recommend that they ask for Brandon as there server. Although the atmosphere is Casual its not someplace that i would show up in jeans and a T-shirt. I would say nice slacks or jeans with a blouse or nice shirt with some dress shoes or heels.
Overall a horrible experience. I live next door to Te Deseo, my apartment complex shared it, figured Id check it out.I walked in with my friend, we were put on a wait list. I have no problem being on a wait list. She advised of a wait time of 1hr and 45 mins, I GOT A TEXT confirming, so we decided to get some drinks and wait it out, this was at about 7:30pm. Only bar space available was upstairs where it was hot, but we endured. They never said well call you, she asked if it was ok to receive text, which I replied yes it was.By 8:55pm, Im at the bar getting another round, I see a call from a private number, I ignored it because 1 its too loud to talk and 2 I dont answer private numbers (as Im sure a lot of people dont). The caller did not leave a voicemail either.Mind you Ive been to restaurants that use their system and you usually get a text saying your table is ready because they know a call makes no sense, let alone a private number call.Few minutes later we decide to check on our table, instead of a hospitable sorry for the misunderstanding, be on the lookout for a weird call, they simply brushed it off pretended like she was trying to find my name on the list, said oh I found you, shouldnt be long as I was walking away I noticed I received another text saying Im on the wait list, this time its 9:15 pm, now I know she just lied to me and after waiting almost 2hrs, it was disappointing. So after 2hrs 30mins total of waiting, I decide to leave because now I was extremely hungry. At 11:00pm I finally get another call with a private number which I still ignored, but this time they left a message which my phone translated to text, it was only then that I knew they were behind the private number from earlier. For a restaurant with prices like theirs, their hostesses have an attitude, they have no empathy for customers whove been standing in the heat as long as youre spending money buying drinks at their bar, and calling people standing in loud music with a private number is a horrible system. From the images below youll see the messages I got from Te Deseo, youll also see the other restaurant who uses the same system and how easy it was to get a table.
5 star!!! Best service ever!! Gabby was a great hostess! Food is amazing! Highly recommended!
We left the bar next to this one bc their DJ was lame. The deseo did not disappoint, it has a good reggaeton selection, mostly mainstream, not really perreo but i guess it’s okay. Drinks are good, same as any other bar in the area, $12ish. We did have to wait in line around 20 min bc we got there at 12 am on a friday night. Also, ladies beware, the ratio men-women on this place is crazy. Too many guys.
Came before a concert food was good but the service was awesome I wish I could remember our servers name but she had very beautiful smile. Loved her she recommended almost all of our dishes and drinks and it did not disappoint. I hope next time I come I have her as my server! Beautiful girl on the inside and out.
Nice intimate setting, music downstairs was a bit louder than would have liked but still managed to hear and maintain a conversation with our guests. 2 appetizers, 2 main courses, 3 beers, and a dessert came out to over $200. The complementary valet is a nice feature. All the food was devoured and our guests enjoyed what food and drinks they ordered as well. I can see this being a great place to dine out for a special occasion.
When yesterday 10/9 for my wife’s birthday. We were greeted by a very nice and smiley hostess (wish I knew her name) she sat us down immediately and within 5 minutes our waiter Thalia came and went over the menu. She was AWESOME! Great personality honest and not pushy at all. She checked on us consistently but it wasn’t over done. Just quick check ins. We order a “ margarita picante” and pineapple drink (can’t remember the name) that was good. The food I would say was good but not for the prices listed. We started with the cliniche triple, being Ecuadorian I know how cleviche should be and it was ok to me nothing spectacular. My wife had the stuffed arepa and she enjoyed it and I order the arroz chaufa that was good too. We asked Thalia about the night life here and she mentioned that they have one Thursday-Saturday and have a cigar section.Overall my wife was happy which makes me happy. I would definitely come back but I would be for appetizers and drinks and to enjoy the night life.
Had a reservation for 8, and we were 15 min early. Did not get seated until 8:30. Food was okay, nothing great. The Skull Dessert was gross! By the time the chocolate skull melted everything was burned. All you could taste was the cheap liquor used to light the fire and the burned cake and waffle. Waiter brought the birthday girl a shot that we did not ask for and it was added to our bill. Drinks were also not the best.
I had an incredible experience at Te Deseo, a Latin American restaurant in Dallas! From the moment I walked in, Ana, our waitress, went above and beyond, providing fantastic recommendations that made the dining experience exceptional. The food was absolutely fantastic, capturing the rich flavors of Latin American cuisine perfectly. The atmosphere was delightful, and the attention to detail in every aspect of the restaurant was truly impressive. Te Deseo is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in delicious food served with top-notch service.
The food, music, drinks were really good, but the staff in the upstairs room was trash, I was standing by the bar with my friends taking pictures & here comes the staff moving us telling us we couldn’t be there like seriously….. the fact that they have the “Te Deseo” sign by the bar & can’t be around that to take pictures is plain dumb…
My husband & I recently visited Te Deseo for dinner & drinks. We absolutely enjoyed our date night! The decor is absolutely beautiful! Ana G took care of us, she was super attentive & super sweet! Ana, thank you for making our experience here AMAZING!!! We can’t wait to return!!!
My experience here was amazing! Not only was the food good but the server, Edgar, made my anniversary unforgettable by giving us complimentary champagne and showing us the right attention and knowledge over the menu. Not to mention the great time we had upstairs, would recommend 100%!
Excellent food, subpar service! (And I’m being generous with the word subpar). This restaurant by far, in my 22 years of culinary adventures in Texas, has got to be the weirdest combination of excellent food and awful service I’ve ever encountered! The food was amazing from every angle: portion, flavor, presentation, etc. Almost as much as the service was awful. All I will say is that after trying to enjoy the Parrillada for couples they offer, it took me asking for a darn steak knife at the very end for the server to get his act together. Drinks took an abnormally amount of time to get done, and I was constantly bothering other servers that casually passed by my table in order to get the most basic things done: more water, ordered more drinks from the bar, get another napkin… I could go on and on. Why is this a problem? Because the price of the food should be directly proportional to the experience (experience = food + service quality), and in my experience, I paid for a 5-star experience and definitely got cheated for 50% of it! In conclusion, Te deseo, a restaurant where you will pay for a good night out but only get the food portion of the premium you will pay, done correctly!
Had the pleasure of dining at this amazing restaurant! The food absolutely did not disappoint! So delicious, large portions and doggy-bag worthy. Our server and the manager were both a class-act. We were given a tour of the restaurant, which has so many levels and interesting things happening. Also, the Latin American inspireddecor was well-appointed and simply gorgeous. Highly recommend dining here.
Overall its a great spot to eat and spend an evening. The night club portion is a little small and gets full really quick. The food portions were very good and the prices were very decent for the food and quality you get. The drinks, on the other hand, are overpriced. As soon as you arrive, they valet your car for free and and the wait staff is very friendly. If youre in uptown Dallas I would definitely recommend te deseo.
While visiting the city, I enjoyed dining at this restaurant. The food was great, the atmosphere was fun and welcoming but most of all my server, Adelina, made sure to deliver an outstanding experience!!! Very informative about the menu and even fun things to do while in town!!!! If you go I totally recommend asking for her!! 6 stars for Adelina!
Bittersweet feelings about this place. Its one of the only places where you can hear good latin music, but why do they always put it with a weird rhythm? And why do people dont dance? The restaurant is good but way too expensive to be worth it. Unless you want to skip the line to enter the club, which is not even so long.Staff is nice though.
I was super excited to try this place out however as the night went on the experience kind of started to be a bit disappointing. The drinks were amazing! Whoever was bartending that night yall did an amazing job! The service was lacking it took about an hour for us to put our drink and food order ( we put in everything at once since she had taken so long to get back to us). Multiple tables around us had extra lighting from candles and we didnt; it wasnt offered to us even though we were in a dark corner. Two of us ordered the shrimp tacos with slaw - the shrimp was unseasoned and the slaw was just cabbage? No dressing. We also got two sides of rice which were great! The other person at our table ordered the fish with the pineapple salsa; which was amazing 😍 and the 4th person ordered el lomo which was also pretty good. We also ordered the quesadilla stack ($20 for 4 slices of quesadillas) and those were pretty bad and tasted like Walmart frozen pizza not to mention the portion size was ridiculously small for the prize. Our other appetizer was the elote, that was pretty good but not worth the $20 - could get similar quality from the bazaar. Overall it was okay, I wouldnt come again not after spending $450.00 and leaving disappointed.
Came in for dinner and drinks and everything was absolutely delicious! Our waiter Adelina was constantly checking up on our table and made our whole experience that much better! She was was the sweetest and gave us the perfect advice to help us pick out our meals.
I give it 2 stars just because i have been going to this place a lot and i never received this kind of treatment. i always have dinner then go upstairs. This time i did the same, had dinner and went steal upstairs. Ordered a drink once the drinks were made, my friend asked if they accepted apple pay. The answer was no and the drinks were snatched away. I was surprised as a bartender myself, i would never. At least, i would wait for the customer to answer. How poor service. I ended up leaving the drink after her action and went to buy on the other side. Maybe bartenders need a little more training. Other than that, everything is great.
Came here for a quick dine before our event. The atmosphere was great and the service was great. So sad that they missed the mark on their food. Portions were so small, kid size. Their ceviche was without flavor, the arepas would have been amazing, but it came with a side of hair. They were kind enough to replace it, but all in all we will not be going back.
I had the worst experience at this place trying to celebrate my bf’s birthday. We never expected to be treated like criminals over such an immature action made by someone who was not even part of our party. This issue could’ve been easily resolved. There was nothing complicated about it to comprehend. However, due to their incompetent management, poor lack of communication, awful bottle service, favoritism, incredibly supercilious, discourteous off duty cops, they made the scene worse and wrongfully threatened, accused, and publicly humiliated innocent people. You must have connections in this place and know your rights. If not, they will use their power/privilege to try to scare you into doing something you don’t have to do. I’m disappointed to say the least; I expected better from this place. I highly don’t recommend if you’re really trying to have a safe and fun time with family and friends.
Love the food so good!! Service is amazing! Servers are always so caring! Make sure to get here before 10 if y’all want to go upstairs without a line, overall amazing! Music is so good and paired with a good drinks is always a good time!
Want to feel old? Take some clients here. Its like ordering dinner in a movie theater. You cant see a damn thing, so youll feel like your parents when that break out their cell phone to light the menu...I guess theyre calling that ambiance.Theyre also going for a true Mexico vibe by keeping it nice and swampy in the dining area. It is hot, humid, and there is no relief in sight. Remember...ambiance.Food was good, but alas, no pictures for you because I didnt want to be the obnoxious guy with the flash on any longer. One last piece of advice for management...when someone asks for menu guidance for the light eater of the group, dont train your people to only list your three most expensive items. Its just tacky and wreaks of desperation. Let your employees have an honest opinion.
Never have I ever been in an environment with such poor service!! The security sucks because my husband and I were in a “VIP” section yet no one would check to see if everything was good! Poor service if you tell me! Immediately arriving my husband was told to get a ticket for his Dallas Cowboys hat, ok fine, went up to the “VIP” lounge area, everything was going good until some douchebag came and ruined everything, again because there was no security checking the area. An outsider ruined a birthday celebration and the management didn’t even bother to get the birthday boy’s side of the story, escorted him out and the scum who ruined everything got to stay and party! However they were so quick to make sure they got a signature for a tab!! Blows my mind how this nice place had poor management and staff, then to top it off as we were leaving someone who worked there told us we couldn’t go back in after I said my husband needed his hat, they took the ticket from him and never came out with the hat! Don’t waste your time or money on an environment that is going to want your money but provide nothing but bad customer service!!
Made reservations for a dinner, had the best time in Te Deseo. Food was great and the service by Claudia was amazing. Definitely recommended.
Everyone was amazing and our waitress Adelina was PHENOMENAL! The food is elevated Latin cuisine and the prices are fair for the full experience. The stuffed Arepas were amazing and so was the braised short rib.
Bad management!!! Especially Mr. Bald. He didn’t have the management skills to control a situation that could have easy been deescalated. As a “VIP” with bottle service constant spending our guest got kicked out due to a random couple that felt they could just randomly join the VIP section. They threw a drink because they got kicked out of the VIP which caused the whole group to get kicked. Their security is a joke accusing our guest of throwing the drink when a few other random couples said it wasn’t our party that threw the drink. Mr. Bald could have reason with the guest in the VIP and handle the situation but decided to kick us out in cuffs by the Dallas Police Gang Unit. Our VIP guest embarrassed and harassed escorted out. Not the way to treat your VIP.
Great food menu! Anticuchos and ceviche for starters, yes, please! Lovely ambience, the lights, the decorations, all very neat. Leave room for dessert because you will regret if dont try the flan. Certainly coming back next time Im in Dallas.
This is mine and my boyfriend go to date night spot. We love the atmosphere, food & especially the service! We always request for Ana because she is the best! She always greets us with a nice smile and gives us the best recommendations.
Disappointing experience all around. Waited over 45 minutes for a table despite having a reservation and informing the hostess of an event we had to attend at the AAC. Once seated the hostess apologized and said that complimentary appetizers would be sent over which never occurred. Even after seated, the service was slow and not what I would have expected.
Thank you Ana and the rest of the Te Deseo staff for the amazing hospitality! Its always been one of my favorite go-to spots in Victory Park for the atmosphere, vibes, dinner, etc. The shrimp nachos and chef Ryans famous Tomahawk steak are simply THE BEST! 5 stars +++++
I finally tried out this place after hearing about the great reviews.First off, my server Adelina was phenomenal. Great service, friendly, and knowledgeable about the food and drinks.I ordered to drink - A Margarita Picante, and to eat - Arroz Chaufa. It exceeded my expectations. I totally recommend this place and will definitely be back!
Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in uptown Dallas. The service is unmatched. Ana our waitress truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. I lHighly recommend you try this place.
The place was very pretty and aesthetically pleasing. The food was good and at a good price range. Our server took great care of us!! Rosa was very friendly and helpful, make sure to ask for her!
WOW! One of absolute best experiences I’ve ever had! Not only was the food amazing but our waitress Gabby was the sweetest and so caring. She really took care of us and made the night one I will never forget!
Had a great time here at a rehearsal dinner for a wedding. The service was great, the food was really good. There is free valet parking which you pretty much have to do because parking doesnt exist in the area. They offered Venmo as an option for a tip to the driver so I didnt feel bad about not having cash.
Te Deseo is an outstanding restaurant that I would highly recommend to anyone in the area. The ambiance is beautiful, with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere thats perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic dinner for two. The menu is varied and creative, with dishes that are both delicious and visually stunning. I especially loved the ceviche and the steak, which were both cooked to perfection. The service was also excellent, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, Te Deseo is a fantastic dining experience that should not be missed!
Great atmosphere and great service. Drinks were good but the food was a big NO. Not worth the money we spent. The chips were stale and the food had no flavor. We will not be returning.
Took my girlfriend on a date over the weekend, the atmosphere was spectacular but our waitress Adelina made it even better. She suggested the chuletón to share —which was amazing. Service was attentive, definitely coming back.
It was ok, not the experience I expected for a double birthday specially when you request to be seated in the main dining area. Instead we were seated in a side area with monkey wallpaper , I didn’t like it tbh, and the food was ok , some dishes looked very nice but very pricey. All in all , I wish I would’ve gone with my other choices.
I’ve been to Te Deseo several times over the years and the food and environment is always great. Every time I get Ana I know I will be getting great service. She is nice, attentive and gives great recommendations! 100% recommend Te Deseo for any occasion.
NOT COMING BACK to this place. I went last weekend 11/12/22 made a reservation for 2. Problem #1 The waiter never bothered to check on us after the food was brought to the table. We wanted to order some cocktails to have it with dinner and we ended up drinking water. problem #2 Then we wanted to go upstairs to the second floor to dance and they wouldnt let us. The MANAGER, a VERY ARROGANT light brown man, was only letting his friends upstairs. They keep telling us that they didn’t have enough tables upstairs. I didn’t know I needed a table just to dance. Where on the official website says that you need a table? There were a lot of people WAITING in line literally MORE THAN 3 HOURS and I am not exaggerating! A lot of people left because they got tired of waiting. We stayed at the bar at the end because at some point we realized that it was getting late and the wound never going to let us go upstairs. I had come here before and it was one of my favorite places to for dancing and dinning but after what happened last weekend I no longer want come back to this place. Problem # 3 To park the car with valet parking is another story. More than 30 minutes waiting in line to park the car that it’s not only a waste of time but also of gas. Everything is really bad managed. We came to Te Deseo wanting to have a good time and get out of the routine but it was the opposite. The only good thing about this night was the 2 guys attending the bar but everything else was a TERRIBLE service!! My recommendation for future people who want to go here is to be prepared to wait a long time because even parking your car is a long useless wait.
Educated your staff on the dress code rules as it seem that the manger has no idea. We were denied our reservation due to my uncle wearing sandals (which were a elevated, dressy sandal - not flip flops). The manager words: men are not allow to have their toes out, it states that on the website. Actually, Per the website it states no flip flops but at manager discretion- no reference to gender or sandals. If you are going to have this policy, please ensure your staff knows the difference between flip flop and dress sandals - especially when it’s paired with an presentable outfit. I’ve never been to an establishment that will allow people in their with crop tops and super causal wear but deny an appropriate, dressy sandal. It’s 100 degrees out, who not wearing sandals in the heat!!!
