Amazing atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful. The owner Jody is so welcoming. Food is delivered from the sushi place next door and it was a great experience too. This was my first stop on a pub crawl and was feeling a little awkward but they were perfect.
Shoutout Jody (or Jodi) for creating a space for queer women. As someone from the San Francisco Bay Area, I am always looking for a place that’s safe, welcoming, and also a vibe. Blush & Blu is this place. Stop by for a drink or 2, shoot some pool, or catch some karaoke on Thursday. Places like this makes me wish I lived in Denver. Cheers 🤘🏽
We were in town visiting from Chicago and cannot say enough good things about this place! Immediate immaculate vibes on walking in. Patrons were friendly and everyone working was helpful and kind. We felt comfortable and at home. We tried the Gina and Tina cocktail and it did not disappoint. Jody completely crushed it DJing the evening! It was a perfect night. We will be back again any time we are in Denver! Highly recommend.
Ive been meaning to come to this place for a while. Recently, I completed my transition to womanhood, and I wanted to stop in and check it out.. Got to sit down with Jody (with a Y), the owner of the bar.. VERY kind person!!! Although due to my schedule right now, an evening trip isnt an option, I do intend to go check them out at night!! They have several nights of the week where they will have an open mic, for music, poetry, comedy, what have you, and another night for Kareoki!!Cant wait to get there at night!! Seems like a good place to find some support and friends!!!Thanks Jody!!!
Im an autistic queer person who just moved to Colorado from a small town in California. Finding queer people back in CA as an autistic adult was very difficult (but not impossible), and Im sure it will still be here too.I went to this bar by myself this past weekend in a moment where I just needed to be around queer people, and the performance that night did not disappoint in soothing the ache I had to add around people like me. Performers looked like they were genuinely having fun and I felt like I was a part of it with their engagement.I think the owner was there too, Im not one to approach people but it was heartwarming to be in such a close knit environment. I hope Im able to make friends out here in time so we can enjoy this establishments atmosphere and events. Ill definitely be going back even if by myself, for now.
Ive been trying to visit all the lesbian bars in the country and so far this one is my favorite. Its as close to a queer version of Cheers that Ive ever found. I was in town for work and stopped by all sweaty after a morning mountain hike and I was immediately welcomed as a friend by the bartender and patrons at the bar.
Walked in and Jody immediately made me feel at home, mixed a great margarita, saw into my soul and I ended up having a great time. Everyone that came in was great, if I lived in Denver there I’d definitely make that my regular bar. But I’ll have to settle for stopping in next time in visiting. 10/10. Would highly recommend 🙌🏽
In Colorado from across the country for unfortunate family circumstances. Blush and Blu has become a spot that has helped us feel at home. My sister and I feel welcome, have made new friends, and had a wonderful time...multiple times after long days. We found a new spot and yall should too!
My wife and I came from New Orleans popped in on out Friday night here. Turns out the owner served us, we felt so welcome. The bar was a great environment. The owner was super nice and gave us tons of recs and made for easy conversation with us. We plan to go back every night until we leave. So great to have a safe queer space to feel welcomed in.
Blush and blu is VIBES. We went on a Friday night during pride month and the owner was DJing. The music was great, the dance floor was fire. We were from out of town and the owner gave us a tour of the bar. The entire staff was incredibly welcoming and the hospitality was unmatched. Also, everyone was hot.DONT SLEEP ON THIS PLAXE.
Brought our out of town guests from DC here on a Saturday night. We are a diverse crowd and all of us felt completely welcome. We always try to support local. Jody was very gracious and gave us the full tour. The crowd was fantastic. We loved the karaoke and Jodys personally made expresso martinis!! Well be adding Blush N Blu as part of our weekend plans from now on.
Blush & Blu is a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for queer people of all ages and walks of life. The manager Amber is kind, warm, and a very talented DJ who everyone should get to know. The atmosphere is great and the drinks are delicious. Karaoke is really fun and the events they host are a blast. I highly recommend checking out this bar and telling your friends about it!
Last night was the second time Ive been to Blush &Blu. It was another fun night where I had a great time meeting new people and the staff is so sweet. Merci and Vegas took great care of us! Merci even made me her specialty drink and since it didnt have a name we named it the Merci drink, of course. I cant wait to come back and have another!!!
Extremely rude right off the bat. My theory is because we’re men and not women. Totally not LGBTQIA+ friendly. My Denver Colorado LGBTQIA+ Facebook group (Over 12k) thinks so too about this environment. So disappointed.
Cozy, friendly, LGBTQ+ womens bar in Denver. Highly recommend a visit for a delicious cocktail. Jodi was a pleasure to meet and have a drink with. The ladies from Florida.
I absolutely love it here.Very welcoming and the owner Jodi, she is the bees knees!!Her and her wife are delightful 😊My home away from home!!
I went in this afternoon. I had seen some of the comments on Reddit & general reviews of this establishment- but as a business owner myself I always try to enter an establishment completely neutral & open to develop my own opinions.I cannot sing enough praises for this bar. Lesbian bars are so few & far between. Blush & Blu is one of the last in the entire country. Jody, her wife, myself & a lovely individual named Human had an over an hour in depth discussion about our cultural backgrounds/heritage, experiences, our individual gender identities, etc. When opening a tab- the first thing Jody asked was,”Do you go by Alexis? What are your pronouns?” I wasn’t sure what to order & Jody made me an absolutely divine espresso martini that had me feeling in just after 2 drinks! Ha!The environment is very tight knit & sweet. Cannot sing enough praises for the service, openness & making new friends all the while. I’m so grateful for Jody & her contributions to Denver! Please stop by blush & blu if you’re ever in the Cheesman Park area!
Ive been here a few times and enjoyed myself every time. The door person and the bartender were both very friendly and welcoming. They even had a prank caller while I was there but everyone was able to laugh and make light of it.However, Ive also tried to stop by on at least three occasions where Google says the bar is open but it is very clearly closed. Please update your Google hours of operation
It was pretty quiet early Monday night, but we had to leave before the comedy night started! We had a lovely time anyway though and got to meet owner Jodi at the bar. Drinks are super reasonable and delicious!
While the (former) bar staff is truly so kind and incredible, their doing their best to hide the fact that blush is not a safe space for everyone. With the owner refusing to take any accountability i cannot see myself there in the foreseeable future. I hope that if your reading this the safety and well-being of your community matters more than a drink and you choose to spend your money in a place that welcomes all people. Not just cis femme women.
Found this place by accident while visiting Denver for work. I walked in and was immediately welcomed and treated like a long-time regular. Met some of the nicest people on my entire visit there. Cant wait to go back.
One of the most welcoming, judgement free and fun bars Ive ever been to. There really arent nearly enough bars for queer women but this is a really good one. I had a blast dancing the night away with beautiful women and karaoke night is so much fun. The staff is very friendly and so are most of the patrons. I felt so at home.
Amazing vibes!! spent the new year there and had the best time. music was incredible, staff were fantastic, and the general atmosphere of anyone there was great. would love to stop by again
We had an absolutely wonderful afternoon at Blush & Blu! Jody is a delight to be with. Thank you!
This bar is the most trans-friendly bar in the Denver area, if not the entire state. The entire staff and all the regulars will treat you like good friends. A very fun, drama-free, and safe space for everyone.
THIS IS HOME! I dont have anything but positive things to say about Blush. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles from all of the staff! Throughout the past few months, I have made immaculate friends and family. The bartenders and staff are super aware of whats going on and make you feel beyond safe to be you! This is the safest place Ive ever felt being in. They accept everyone no matter what and make genuine connections with the people who come through the doors. They have very diverse nights from poetry, burlesque shows, Latin nights, and so much more! If you need a home away from home or a home in general, this is the spot to come to!
I love this place! And I especially love when Jupiter is there. They give me such phenomenal service every time and they are a breeze to talk to. Beautiful and a great conversationalist. I will definitely be back again and again because Jupiter gives the best service I’ve ever had!
If I could leave no stars I would. Staff was great. Owners treat their staff terribly
I used to go there, but when my partner stared to transition, Jody, the owner, got really gross. Nasty sideways coments, misgendering him, telling g other people hes just a confused lesbian. 100% Do Not Recommend.
Felt welcome as a trans gal. Lovely environment
Blush & Blu has good vibes. I ended up going in on a night they did comedy open mic night & it was alright. They had a lot of fun & fruity drinks on the menu. The bartender was kind & made great drinks. My friends & I had a good time.
Great Atmosphere, everyone was friendly and helpful. Went for New Years Eve & met the owner. We had a great time, keep the party going Jodie!! 🥳
I discovered this bar from the Lesbian Bar Project, and I am so happy I came when I visited Denver. I really appreciate how they have great coffee and mocktail options for the folks not interested in alcohol. I really recommend the Liz Lemon. Drinks aside, this place is so warm and welcoming, and if I lived here, Id come a lot more often. Their karaoke night is a blast, and I can only imagine how great their other events are. Absolutely come if youre a lesbian or some other wlw, but it doesnt matter what your gender or orientation is - everyone is truly welcome. Cant wait to come again sometime!
My partner and I had a great experience at blush n blu! The staff were lovey and made our visit very memorable - shout-out to Ally and Jody! Thanks so much, we will definitely be coming back next time were in town.Shaneen & Paveena :)
Great Coconut margaritas and super cool bartenders. Cool spot to hangout for a drink
Bartenders were weird and there were like 3 people in the entire bar, and the music was too loud
I came in a Monday so it was a little slow, which is perfect for me. Allie and Gabbie, thank you for an amazing experience. *some* of the comedians were good :) shoutout Rachel and Allie
Im a straight white man and I love this bar. The reason is because the owner and staff are so welcoming and warm, kind, and friendly. Id rather party here or relax here then any straight bar.
I love it here! Its a very well kept bar, and is very inclusive! Everything here feels safe and comfortable, but also the drinks are amazing! If you need a chill place to go, this is the bar. If you want something more lively, come during karaoke or one of their theme nights!!! Come as you are!
I sort of wandered in here off of the street last night cuz Google said that it was a safe space for queers. Sometimes you just need to feel like you belong and Paige (pretty sure that was their name) behind the bar made me feel at home. The beer was cold, prices were good, the company was fantastic and the music was on point. I believe that truly accepting queer spaces like this are few and far between and I just appreciate the compassion I will shown last night @ Blush & Blu
Jody was phenomenal at recommending things to check out and even had records and books for super cheap for us to skim through while visiting the area!
Literally the best crew of women hosting every night. Sweet, kind, and Will actual remember you. Great bar for girls who love girls and those that know how to just respect those around them. You’ll make fam and friends here. If you love a good time COME HERE!
It is an decent bar. The pool table area upstairs was empty so we went upstairs. Not even halfway of the first game, a female gave attitude and said she will play next game. Since we put money for 3 games we offered her to do a teams play but she had a face and declined and went down to bar.
I was born a man but consider myself a two spirit individual. I look like a standard tall attractive snd muscular man however. I always come here to just quietly have a drink and not be hit on constantly, which is usually the case when I go out to have a beve. I get hit on constantly anyway here but its always very respectfully and kindly. Why, because Blush is just about the most respectful place in town. People and the staff here are just so respectful and kind. I highly recommend this bar for any LGBTQIA person , lifestyle person, Poly person, or even anyone that prefers traditional hierarchical heteronormative dynamics.
I didnt eat, but the Gin & Tonic was great! The bartender was really sweet, as were the other guests. I highly recommend it for a great time.
I love this place and the owner was dope! I went here for the Super Bowl and the owner was super accommodating and cool!
I LOVE it here. It’s a wonderful place that welcomes all. The owner has created a venue that holds space for a community of folks that are wonderful, kind, and diverse. Jody the owner is gracious and caring. There’s always something fun going on at the venue and I always have the best time when I go to Blush & Blu.
I love this place! Wish I lived closer so I could come more often. The atmosphere is great and I love that they have quieter areas so you can take break from the noise. I was here for queer karaoke night and it was so much fun. Appreciated that they offer a mock tails menu!
I’m normally not that into going to bars, but I highly recommend this place after going last night! Completely queer, super down to earth welcoming vibes, met some awesome ppl. I felt very at home and comfortable with the crowd of almost entirely women, trans, and nonbinary folks. If you’re in Denver and want a chill queer space that is friendly and unpretentious, come here.
Im from out of town so my expectations for this place were quite high. Everything would have been great but the music was much left to be desired especially on pride weekend. The $20 cover was not worth it for me 😔
Thank you to everyone at the Blush & Blu for the best birthday night Ive ever had. Karaoke wont ever be the same anywhere else I go. My friend and I chose Denver as the place to meet in person for the first time and one of our criteria was to find a great place for karaoke and this was the best Ive ever been. The drinks were fantastic, the bartenders were awesome, the DJ was so sweet and wonderful, the owner was amazing and the people were friendly and I will never forget them. I hope to meet up with the friends I made here in the future.
My GF Jess and I go on Karaoke nights, mostly, but we love it because the drinks are good and the staff and the Owner Jodi are all so very Sweet! PLUS the Karaoke is a blast due to the people who get up there and get really into it! Also, the pool table upstairs is fun as well. 🤘😉❤
It was so amazing going out with friends and feeling a little normalcy. The staff was so accommodating!! We had a blast on Halloween, and went back for brunch on Sunday. The food was amazing!! So cool to see the staff return on Sunday to hang out and eat, that says a lot about the leadership. Thanks You!
One of the most iconic, legendary, and historically relevant bars in all of Denver. Affordable, well-made drinks with frequent events and host DJs on the top level for dancing with the lower level offering a more chill, spacious vibe with ample comfy seating options.
Jodi was amazing!! The drinks were great, and the atmosphere was amazing! I will definitely be back.
I’m from the east coast where there are many queer safe bars. Living in Denver, I’ve never found a bar that feels like home. Most of the queer bars here are dirty and not personable.Blush and Blu has given myself and my trans boyfriend a space to feel safe and always welcome. Tonight we took our best friend for his birthday and the owner treated him like a celebrity. The last time I was there the owner offered to order the Bev wine that I like… As a queer healthcare worker, having a space I can unwind and be safe is so important. The bartenders are always so welcoming. If you’re new to Denver and looking for a safe place to drink and have fun: this is it💜
The staff are amazing & super nice - Jody, youre awesome! Sunday brunch is delicious & I cant wait to try it the chefs restaurant. Plus, theyre being very safe with social distancing & mask rules.
Love the atmosphere of this place! Got some afternoon to evening drinks with some friends, & our bartender Megs was sweet, helpful, and amazing... She also had great drink + shot suggestions! Covid conscious gets an A+ as well!! This place makes me feel more at ease, especially because several bars do not take proper precautions. Nice to know some ppl are. Will definitely be back here soon🤩❤ Thx Megs
I was in town, visiting from Los Angeles, and I got to say Blush & Blu is by far the best LGBT+ bar. I wish WEHO had yall, seriously a very nice and comfortable environment. Music is on point and the drinks/bartenders are great!! They had a $5 cover charge the day I went bc of an event, but trust me its worth it!
Had the greatest and most welcoming experience and I could not be happier! When I come back to Denver it will undoubtedly be the first place I return to! Owners are amazing and extremely accommodating. Thank you for the perfect experience during my travels, Blush & Blu I love you!
This place is absolutely amazing! It is more than a bar! Its a family! The energy here is immaculate and I would suggest anyone to come here and collect themselves. Not only the people but the employees are super incredible with real emotions and absolute kindness. Love love love blush and blue 💙💙💙
This place is amazing! Have been there a couple of times now and got to see some amazing karaoke! The staff is wonderful and everyone was so much fun.
A friend and I came from out of state and loved this bar. The upstairs has a pool table and it was great to have a nice cocktail and shoot some pool. Everyone who worked there was really kind and friendly. I would definitely go back. Support this great local business.
I have always loved Blush & Blu since moving to Denver. I recently visited during Pride. (My first time here since the COVID shutdowns.) Obviously it was busy, but it was wonderful to see everyone again. Blush always has a good energy and everyone I run into there is always super friendly. They have a good selection of beer offerings, wine, mocktails, full bar, coffee and to-go cocktails. They frequently have entertainment and they have billiards up stairs. The place is deceivingly large, so its easy to find a comfortable spot to hang out with friends.
I had a very interesting experience here. Drinks and atmosphere were good enough. My friends and I were seated away from the main area and discussing various topics including downtown’s homeless issue, the current political climate, and the 2020 election. We all had opposing views and were engaging in a civil discussion about it (not being rowdy or loud, always seated, being respectful). One of the bartenders came up to us and said “Are you guys done with your drinks? He’s your tab. We’re asking you to leave.” I was perplexed as I’ve never been kicked out of a bar before and asked why. We were told “This is a safe space and we got a complaint that what your group was talking about was incredibly offensive. You need to leave.” We left and will never be going back. I don’t think they quite understand what a safe space actually is.
Warm and welcoming, as usual. Sunday brunch was awesome! The food was fresh and full of flavor. Service was kind and attentive. The drinks are always the best. Had a wonderful Sunday funday at Blush & Blu with friends and I recommend you try it too!!
From Houston came to Denver for the Weekend. Came across this Gem. My girlfriend and I enjoyed this place. The Owners and Staff are very Acknowledging and Welcoming. service was GREAT! My Marina Martini was delicious and the Ruby Rose was Fab. Definitely a stop whenever i Visit again.
Great environment, and like most gay bars, very warm and welcoming. Came on a poetry night, which the second room over seems tailor-made for. Im told drag shows go down here too, I would love to come back and catch one of those! The lovely ambience and friendly peeps, staff and patrons alike, make this one a necessary stop.
I don’t like to give bad reviews, but to help a place achieve their potential, it’s worth it. Yea, so was there on a Friday night. Bartender was pretty rude by being partial to serving other groups. The vibe was just so confused. I’m not sure what they were going for there AT ALL. And I kinda think they didn’t either. Movies with commercials, overly loud bad music. I went there to dance but the music was not optimal for that. And the cocktail tables were weird with unmatching chairs. I want to support lesbian bars a whole lot but kinda wish this place would pick a vibe and go with it and get bartenders that are badass.
I brought a friend here that was visiting from Florida. I live in Colorado, but had not yet been to Blush and Blu. My friend is cis female, but I am trans and frequently worry about where I should or shouldnt go and if Ill be welcomed. Everyone from the staff to the owners to the patrons were just great! The karaoke night was soooo fun, even with Covid restrictions in place, and I very much feel like I can be myself and have fun there. They are also doing a good job of being safe and keeping everyone healthy. I cant wait to go back, especially when this pandemic ends!! 🙂🙂 ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
My first Sunday in Denver, I found myself taking a break from job hunting and stopped in for a drink. The bartender made me feel instantly welcome, and it was the first step in helping to make this city feel like home. Ive since been back, for burlesque shows or random celebrations, and Im glad there are places like this in my adopted home.
Not gonna lie, we were kind of excited to come in here. We were in the area, went to a couple bars on the block and decided we wanted to spend the rest of the night here. As we walked in the person at the front said “cash or Venmo”. There was a cover of $20 per person. To get into a bar? We are from out of state and were kinda shocked that they would ask $40 for the two of us just to get in. We ended up turning around and going to the place next door. Disappointing. There wasn’t even a band or anything.
Excellent service with an accepting, welcoming vibe and a real cool environment. One of 15 remaining American lesbian bars according to their website, and definitely worth the visit if LGBTQ+ is your crowd. We had a great time.
Super welcoming and comfortable environment. Drinks are fun and tasty! Theres live music some nights, karaoke others. The sushi in the cover is not accurate lol. The sushi place is next door.
Awesome place. Very welcoming. Amazing mocktail menu!
My first few times at a girl bar; I really enjoyed myself! As a newbie to the Denver metro area I found it easy to engage. The staff are awesome and I always look forward to talking out front. Convenient location, great and/but rather intimate dance floor. Plan to park a few blocks away and pay $4-10 for drinks.Only complaint is that the arcade machine upstairs sucks for Galaga; the button doesnt fire fast enough. Otherwise 6/5, thanks B&B for being such an awesome queer space!
Blush & Blu is the best! Theyre doing Sunday brunch now and everyone is as friendly and welcoming as ever. Even with COVID restrictions, it was a relaxing environment - wonderful spot to hang out and have 2 for 1 mimosas. Props for the excellent lesbian anthem playlist as well =)
I used to love this place, but it has new owners now. I went last night they charged a 10$ cover which is more expensive than other more frequented and popular bars. It’s never that busy and last night wasn’t different. The worst part was that the bar tenders and new owner are rude and play favorites with people they know. I also felt discriminated against because of my accent. I had not had a drink and wanted to order one and the owner refused to prepare a drink for me. In the past I’ve spent a lot of money at this bar and introduced friends to the location. Under this new ownership I will no longer do that. It’s very sad this used to be an open minded, chill and accepting environment. Not anymore!!!
I took my daughter and her bestie to Denver for her 21st birthday. I found Blush & Blu on google and told her that I thought it would be a good fit for her. I could not be happier that she loved it there! The bartenders made her fruity drinks that she thoroughly enjoyed. They made sure to offer her water throughout the evening. When she got a little too drunk (it’s her 21st birthday after all) they cut her off and had her sit on a couch to wait for me to pick her up. When I pulled up out front, the bouncer opened the door of my truck and asked my daughter if she was sure that this was her ride. She and her bestie confirmed that she was supposed to get in that vehicle with me. I’m not gonna lie, her dad and I sat in the hotel room worrying because our little, sweet daughter was out for her first adult night in a major city, but the staff and clientele of Blush & Blu took great care of her and showed her a wonderful time. Thank you so much for celebrating safely with my baby!
Went there a month ago, had a great time with a couple friends. But when I went to cash out our tab they told me we didnt have one. I questioned it and they said its ok. So great...wow...bar tab on them. Not sure why. Then a few weeks later I see a charge on my credit card. I was happy to pay but not get cheated.
The most laid back, none-judgmental, and fun place ever. Everyone is so friendly and sweet. They make you feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. The drinks are delicious and reasonably priced. Will be back very soon and often.
My favorite bar in Denver! I love this place!I love the pool table upstairs, I love that they have a non-alcoholic cocktail menu, I love the staff, I love the atmosphere, Blush & Blu is the best.
Came in to meet a friend. Was immediately met with an attitude from the bartender and was treated as if I walked into the wrong bar. I didnt even stay long enough for a drink. We left and took our business elsewhere. There are more friendly spots in this area.
This bar is no longer a safe space for queer folks. They even had a lawsuit in 2021 for racial discrimination and unfair pay. Nothing has changed.Boycott! Stand up for what’s right!
Great place to hang out!! Owner was awesome and came to talk to us on our first time in there. Plus all the staff were super friendly and we had great interactions with everyone there. They made my sisters 21st birthday a great night!!
Another great night at This fantastic place. Megs is absolutely fantastic and the tacos were great. Best bar in the area for sure! The owner Jody is also great! Swing by and be a good person! \m/
This place is decent in size. There’s upstairs, regular floor and a basement area as well.Drinks are ok priceI don’t particularly like how they treat the people who book events here.We were doubled book with another event. And it really hurt our show and performance. It seemed very rude.We were musicians placed in the basement while a dancing group was placed above us. All we heard while playing our setlist was a bunch of stomping from above. It’s very rude to the musicians who was performing and showed no respect to our event. If you plan to have an event. Don’t double book or at least have the musicians above the dancers....
Signed up for karaoke at 8:30pm, didnt get called up to sing until 12:30pm. But good vibes
I had a great time last night. Very welcoming crowd, very inclusive of all people. Bartenders and staff were very friendly.
Laid back environment with 3 floors to relax, read, play a few retro games along with a pool table. Drinks are reasonable at an average of $6. The shows are generally $5. Restrooms are tidy. A great place to dance on up to two floors.
So a gay guy and a straight girl walk into a bar.......We were so ready for a happy bar with friendly service and accidently found this place, so nice. Our bartender Honna (?) was the best, welcoming, funny, just what we needed. Cant say well be back any time soon but thats just cause we rarely get the chance to day drink, but when we do this place is totally on our list! Thanks!
There have been several instances of misgendering and racial profiling under the current management. needs new management and a safe place for all
We loved blush and blu! Immaculate vibes, the BEST bartenders (we love you Casey!!), and the owner Jodi treats their employees well! It shows in their energy! Must go!!!
Wonderful evening!!! Went to Blush & Blu specifically to watch to Laramie Dragonettes perform - they are VERY talented and engaging performers!!! Vivica (not good with names, hope I didnt mess up with yours!) - the regular MC is awesome. She worked well with Cinnamon from Laramie to coordinate a great show - Ill go back to see it again!!!As for the bar itself, the wait staff was excellent and the tab (which I kept open in spite of reviews I had read) looked to be perfectly accurate. The Friday night crowd seemed to be out for a good time, as were we - again, Ill be going back - Great Job, All!!!
I visited Blush & Blu for the first time over PRIDE weeked, and this place is so Awesome!! They have Brunch, Burlesque shows, a super badass bar staff, and just an overall wonderful atmosphere to come hang out in what more could you ask for!! We will be back!
I went for the Drag Queen garage sale and had so much fun. Everyone was super friendly and the music was bumping. There was a good selection of clothes at decent prices and the folks selling were very helpful. I really cant wait for the next one!
Blush and Blu was not only a beautiful space with great staff, but a phenomenal asset to our community providing space for the Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado for a fundraiser. When you bring good people together with a great environment, you have success!
Blush n Blu is an amazing community space that also doubles as a bar. Everyone is welcomed here with open arms. Tonight i brought my toddler here to munch on donuts we got next door at Voodoo Donuts. I held my foster daughters quinceanera here and the staff was incredibly helpful and generous. Nothing but love for this place.
Chill atmosphere, great music. We love the separate areas of the bar, especially the loft with books and chairs. A good place to hang with friends, especially LGBTQA+ family.
Love this place! If you havent been here you should absolutely check it out! Great vibes and awesome service! Everyone from staff to the patrons are super nice and inclusive! Its a great safe space!
Came here 3 weeks ago for my birthday from Houston, Tx. I was by myself and welcomed with open arms, complete southern hospitality! The owners are great, the staff is awesome; there is a beautiful bartender who needs to learn some humilty but Im sure life will handle that! lol Do yourself a favor and stop in! #loveyouAda #425
Great atmosphere on open mic night, awesome crowd! Good mix of true to its lesbian roots, but not alienating as a qt dude. Facilitator and bartender were both friendly to the crowd.
Its always nice to go to places that are supportive and inclusive. Im a bi wife and I went with my girlfriend which is a new experience for me. And it was karaoke night! Fantastic time.
Great atmosphere, great events, awesome staff. When straight men come in and start being creeps, the staff take care of it pretty immediately and make sure they stay out.
I had a really great first night here; Everyone was welcoming and friendly, I met very cool people of various ages and persuasions. The place is clean, the music is good...highly recommend.
So much fun here! Stopped in on a Thursday night and everyone was friendly from the bartenders to the crowd who hangs out here. Great ambience and drink options and just a cool hangout!
2 stars for how open and friendly the environment is.Lost 3 for watered down expensive drinks and horrible music, and even when I requested a song, they ignored us. 🙄I was out after an hour. As my first time in Denver, I’m pretty disappointed in the bar scene lol
This place has lots of fun events for adults. They do a regular drag show and also have adult theme comedians. Good drink prices and one of the most LGBTQ friendly places in Colefax. Its been called one of the last lesbian bars in the city so lets be sure this place stays on the map.
WOW the bartender could not have been more offputting! Snarky answers and the smallest pores... maybe shes just having a bad day but Im not going to come back 🙃Decent setup otherwise. Upstairs (pool table and arcade) was 15 degrees hotter than downstairs. I wanted to like you Blush &Blu 😭
This is one of my favorite venues to play. Their open mic is fantanstic. There is always a nice vibe and the place is big but also feels cozy somehow.
Very cool place! It actually feels like a lesbian bar which is a miracle since there are so few left. Definitely worth visiting and Ill be back next time Im in town!
When I first came out as transgender I was afraid to go out in public. I was afraid I wouldnt be accepted or supported by anyone anywhere. From the very first time I stepped into Blush and Blu I was embraced and accepted by all the customers, staff and by the owner of Blush and Blu Jody Bouffard. Now as a regular customer at Blush and Blu I can firmly say Blush and Blu is all about unity and equality where everyone is welcome and treats everyone with the utmost respect which is very vital for our community.Jody Bouffard is the owner of Blush and Blu. She holds herself to and always treats everyone high moral standards that include acceptance, forgiveness, compassion, support, integrity, friendship and love.Jody Bouffard sets the bar for the highest quality caliber of character, and because of Jodys moral caliber she has become an inspiration to me.
The place is disgustingly dirty, bartenders are rude, small children running around after 9. It’s obvious the owner doesn’t care about the bar, just her own personal life and the hype of owning a bar. They finally made some improvements but they should have spent that money on fixing broken toilet seats, deep cleaning the facility, furniture that doesn’t have holes, and decent pool tables. It’s a shame the last lesbian bar in Denver is going so far in the wrong direction. We won’t be going back. The bartenders are rude and clicky. Not a safe environment if you’re not part of their click.I travel a lot and would definitely not recommend this bar to people traveling or new to Denver.
Nice place very clean. Didnt get to stay long. But had a great time talking to locals. The bar could benefit if there bartender changed her attitude or learned how to make a drink. Which ever comes first.
Met one of the owners in PV and came to visit her here. Had a great time and great drinks. Good place to relax and talk with friends upstairs or let loose on the dance floor.
We were from out of town and they were very nice and welcoming! They followed COVID protocols, provided great service and would recommend this place to anyone!! Great drinks too, we will definitely be back!
Hey America,My wife and I just got back to NYC from DENVER, CO. We ve never been to Denver and didnt know anyone. Thankfully,we arrived on a Wednesday, Just in time for Whiskey Wednesdaysat Blush n Blu and experienced their open mic poetry weekly event....AWESOME! is the first word that comes to mind, Next, is Great! the atmosphere, drinks, and service were all GREAT! from the time we walked in We were shown a lot of Love... We felt welcome and met some GREAT new people. We can hardly wait to visit the Denver area again and BLUSH n BLU
Amazing company, safe community, epic dance parties. You want to find friends, a fling, or a cheap drink: come to Blush n Blu, and you might blush too. Meg is excellent!
Awesome place. Its a great vibe in there and the bartenders are so nice. Great drinks and an amazing atmosphere. Ill be coming back again and again.
Loved the energy here. the employee who greeted us told us about karaoke nights - wished my friends and i could have stayed in denver longer ! ♥️
This place was my best experience in Denver! It is truly welcoming to all and I walked out with new friends on the west coast. From this dc queer to y’all *tips hat*
This place is so special to me. They are so welcoming and safe for trans folx. I appreciate the owner and staff so much!
LATINAS ARE NOT WELCOMED at that bar. Even if you are respectful to everyone; bar tenders can act in a way to push you away from the bar and you can clearly see how they treat the rest of the clients when it comes to service. It is understandable, a white bartender from Massachusetts must not be used to Spanish people.
My favorite lesbian bar... probably ever. They cater to more than lesbians. Its a great place to just to hang out, have a drink and meet people. Ive made a lot of friends here.
Dont let the size of this bar fool you, big things happen here! I visited for a show on a saturday night and had a blast. The staff and patrons are very welcoming and inclusive. A very positive place. I will definately be back again and again.
Walked in after visiting Pride & Swagger a few weeks ago, expecting fun and relaxed atmosphere with one under 21 friend and my IDless 30something friend from Texas.Right away this place felt weird, cause we said we didnt know what we wanted so the bartender just wandered off to help someone else. Theres no menu. The bartender should help you find a drink. Then when they came back, they asked for our IDs and when some of my friends said theyre under 21 they said you cant be here.We went to Pride & Swagger and we were able to hang out, my under 21 and IDless friends were able to drink soda, and I could have a Baileys. No problem.Blush & Blu apparently isnt chill with this, so Im not chill with this establishment.Wont be returning.
Great scene , comfortable environment and I loved how amazing the bar tender was on Monday night. Thank you ya deserve five stars everyone!💯🎊🎉🎆💥😸
Favorite queer spot in Denver as a woman. One of the few spots where you can find other queer woman and not just guys and straight girls. It is also trans friendly. Plenty of cheap drinks and upstairs and downstairs for more talking areas.
Great lesbian bar, friendly & helpful staff, trans friendly, reasonably priced drinks. Ive been going there since about February and always have a good time.
My friend and I had a great time there. Such a comfortable atmosphere. It may become our regular place to meet up.
Pissed as all hell. Went in for a couple of drinks with some friends. Agreement was that the friend I was with tip in cash. I paid the tab I owed and when I checked my bank account the bar tender had decided to tip themselves off of my card without my permission and without any prior discussion or consent. Funny thing is my good friend is a lawyer.... definitely not ok!
Blush and blue is one of my absolute favorite queer spaces in Denver. I always have a good time here.
One of the most inclusive joints in Denver. If you visit town, you wont wanna miss this welcoming and fun experiences.
Safe space for Queer and poc. New ownership has done a great job making a more inclusive space with a variety of events like poetry, open mic, drag shows, political events, and dance parties
Best spot on Colfax. Inclusive and full of love, great music, and great vibe. Hannah is the best bartender! Go go go! You won’t be disappointed!
What a blast! Such a great place to dance with reasonably priced drinks.
The atmosphere is amazing and the inclusivity makes you feel like you’re at home. We went for karaoke on the third Saturday, it was an absolute blast.
Very easy going, friendly atmosphere. Bartender was very nice and service was excellent!
Nice vibe! Everybody feels welcomed! Ive been there many times and it is always a pleasure to go back.
$$ GRSM ESTABLISHMENT. Dont show up with an agenda tho. Come hang, drink affordable, enjoy GRSM entertainment. Bring change for pool tables on top deck. Dont be the guy who comes just to be offended by everything, just enjoy the fairly priced beverages, lovely company, and variety of muse.
Great mixed drinks. Small beer selection but good. Good music. Good dance floor.
Bad management! You should put your money to bars who actually care about our community.Bartenders are rude, not welcoming. Seems the staff only cares to help themselves. Drinks are way over priced! I had such a bad experience.I will never go back!
So much love was shown here! Let like home, family. Karoake night was AMAZING! Everyone needs a record deal! Id definitely be back!
Very friendly, staff enjoy being there. Set up and size too small and you are shoulder to shoulder at times.
I love this place! Thank you for your Latin night! It’s amazing to have a safe, brown queer place! Gracias 🙏🏽
Friendly staff, mixed crowd, strong drink, but most of the patrons who sang or attempted to sing karaoke were not so good.
Wonderful lesbian bar - so so friendly, very inclusive, really made us feel like a part of a community. Would give six stars if I could.
Very meh, the environment was alright but it was cramped, the drinks just werent that gr8 and were more expensive than they shoulda been. Its family but not very friendly from what I could tell. So yea probably wont be going back.
Megs is a mega bae and we could not have had a better time, even with my active imagination. Thank you so much! Cant wait to come back.❤️🙏🏾✊🏾🌈✌🏾💏🦞
Had an amazing time visiting from out of town. Great vibe, super nice staff, wish we had a place like this where we live!!
This place is always spot on! The bartenders are always friendly and the inclusive environment is refreshing. It’s always a bar I take my friends to when they are in town.
As always, its a pleasure to come here when Im in Denver. Fabulous ambiance, great service, safe space environment. I appreciate this bar.
This is my favorite bar in Denver. It feels like home. Jodi, Tannaz, and Megs are my favorites and treat everyone like family. ❤ forever
I met my now fiancé at this bar about 3 years ago. Very chill and welcoming environment. Love this bar!
Drinks were good but the staff didn’t seem to want to be there.
We love Jody and her new bus. partner SJ.They both are great mixologist....whats your flavor? they got you!
Great drinks, great DJ, great staff, great times! Thanks, Blush and Blu!
Excellent place to go. All the staff are very nice and atmosphere is the best! Always a fun time.
Fun and clean location. Lesbian speed dating with Denvers Cupid was a blast!
A lovely little gay bar right in the middle of the action of colfax. Amazingly friendly staff and always a buffet of eye candy for all letters of the lgbtqia crew.
Super vibey little bar. Everyone’s super friendly and cool. Been coming here for years and it’s always welcoming!
Bartenders were very competent. Very friendly and professional environment and great drinks. Highly recommended.
Jodi, Amy, Emily and the whole crew are so amazing. Super fun place where everyone is welcome!
Very pleasant experience early in the week. Despite being a Tuesday, there were enough people and a good bartender.
You better not be a straight person going here or male.... One of the bartenders will gladly let you know that youre not welcome and they wish they would never return to his bar
My girlfriend showed me this place and I absolutely love it!! Definitely a go to place to grab a drink when were in town
Great atmosphere, reasonable prices, and all around chill vibes.
Attended for a fundraiser and was pleasantly surprised by how inviting the space felt. Great bartender and awesome energy from those in attendance.
Amazing bar run by great staff. Safe, cozy, comfortable, plus great drinks that are reasonably priced.
Ive given this place multiple attempts and have been disappointed each time. Went there on a Saturday night, there was 3 people there. 1 was the DJ, 1 was the bartender, and 1 was the DJs friend.
Wonderful place even if it takes some time to get a drink at the bar. Lovely gals, all of them.
Staff is great, friendly, and really knowledgeable about their craft. Atmosphere was exciting, a must visit.
I love the atmosphere and clientele. Amazingly inclusive. 🏳️🌈
This place was pretty cool! It has a chill, comfortable vibe, and the staff was really friendly.
An incredible safe space for queer people :) Friendly and fun bartenders with creative drinks!
Not JUST a great staff, but an amazing center for a number of intersecting communities. Its a shame that businesses like this are so few and far between.
Blush and Blu is a very accepting, friendly environment with great drinks to boot. 10/10 would recommend again
Awesome spot. Great queer community. Its an incredible safe space. Definitely recommend.
Without question one of the friendliest bars I have ever been to. Good prices too.
Great spot love the new staff! Customer service and attention to detail sunday brunch freshly made and excellent!
Very chill bar, and amazing staff. My first time there, and definitely wont be my last.
LOVE THIS PLACE! Very inclusive and fun atmosphere. I just wish the music was a bit louder!
Pretty fun! Recently went for open mike night and it was great
Super friendly space with awesome decor and a teeny upstairs bookstore. Plus its next to a great donut place!
