Felt desk is helpful when making appts, changing appts., and understanding membership services as well as non member services. I have had three different masseuses at Massage Envy and they were all great with the pressure I requested. The stretching service is wonderful. I had no idea stretching was a service anyone would meed to pay for, but it is wonderful and worth every penny. With background in dance I didn’t think I would need assistance in stretching let alone pay for it. It is very relaxing and once you learn the benefits of stretching you will be glad it’s available as an option. I only gave it a try since it is available as an option with my membership. It was such a relaxing experience I have repeated the service many times.With my membership I also tried the facial but I have only had that service once.I typically have tension, pain, tightness in my shoulders so the service I prefer the most is the massage. Esme is my preferred masseuse but if she is unavailable on the dates I’m looking to book I have had a positive experience with other masseuses.I do recommend the membership. I been going to this place for the last 4 months my appointment is for 60 minutes but instead i get 40 minutes they all ways take there time to start the massage. And front desk are rude you ask them a question and they refuse to give you and answer today was the worse i dont know if im going back to that location. They charge for everything but when it comes to service they felt short.
I am very pleased with the massage I received from Kat! I went in with a level 8 in pain and stress in my neck and shoulders. I left with about a level 6 and felt so much more relaxed. I definitely recommended massage services at Downey Massage Envy!

I’ve be going to this location since we moved to Downey. The front staff is professional and kind. I recently requested a massage therapist that specializes in the paraformis. I scheduled with Joshua, I was blown away how good he is, my sciatic pain was gone my numbness was gone and my left leg.
My granddaughter and I had a couples room massage. Very pleasant and relaxing. Kendra was outstanding. Listened to my concerns. I will be returning.
Kendra did a great job on my massage. She has a gift from God. It wasnt too hard and it wasnt too light.
Although my masseuse was good, I didnt get my full hour massage. Initially, I rated my service 3 STARS because of her. However, when I called to inquire about the service, the receptionist didnt seem to want my business over the phone or in person. If Id known that Id be docked 10 minutes for undressing, which took less than 5 minutes, I would have undressed in the waiting area.

I have been going to this location for 3+ years. Today I had the worst customer experience ever. My interaction with both individuals I spoke with had no customer service experience, at least from what was expressed to me. There was no empathy or acknowledgement of what I was complaining about. Only excuses and a script they go by. I will never return. It’s unfortunate that these young ladies are not trained properly and no manager to speak with.

I purchased and gifted a gift card to my mother to come here and have a pleasant experience, instead she had the absolute contrary. This location was awful and nasty to her over the phone as in person the day of. She was charged 50% of the service she had appointment for which was a massage and that was a $75 late fee!!! Not including the actual service which they didnt provide! This late fee was never brought up when taking the credit card over the phone! I really wished we had read all these horrible reviews before gifting anything from this franchise! Disgusted of how they allow theyre FRONT DESK to run or should I say ruin their business!

I rarely give 5 stars. I have never gotten a facial before and was nervous because i have very sensitive skin. I went in and Olivia was my aesthetician. She was amazing. So kind and friendly. I explained to her how I have very sensitive skin and she was so accommodating.It was a really relaxing environment and we were talking the whole time, which I really appreciated. She was explaining each step to me as she was doing it.Highly recommend this place. The Management and environment is very professional and friendly. HIGHLY recommend Olivia.

I work a lot and needed a massage. I signed up and when I had my first massage the room was cold and I was very uncomfortable. I spoke to the front desk about it and they said that they could not do anything to help me and that if didnt like the massage, that they had other services. The maganer was very rude and did nothing to help. Very disappointing experience and instead of feeling relaxed, I left with even more stress. 🙁 The worse part is that I cant cancel the membership and if I want to continue attending, Ill be feeling very cold and uncomfortable during my relaxing massage... 😟
I walked into this clinic super excited to buy a gift card for my friend because she needed a massage. When I approached front desk they said I couldn’t be inside because I didn’t have a mask. I told them that there was no mask mandate anymore. That other clinics did not require mask. Reception replied “ you can’t be in here with no mask” I said I just need a gift card, not a massage. She said to step outside. I had to leave without a gift card… :(
I showed up on time for my appointment and was told my appointment was cancelled an hour ago. The receptionist at the front desk named Christine claimed that she called me, but I have no missed call on record, no text message either. She was so unapologetic which triggered this review. When a customer canceled an appointment, they need to call in 24 hours in advance. Is it ok for this business to cancel an hour before with minimum effort of communication and trying to find a replacement? From the other reviews, this seems to be a recurring issue and management hasn’t found a way to address it. In addition, the attitude of the front desk workers is unacceptable. I’d suggest anyone who considers this place to walk away to save yourself from unpleasant experiences.
Never have appointments available. My husband and I how now 2 months worth of massages and we are unable to get in. Also havent had a pleasant time on the phone with them but dont have a name for the person. This is ridiculous. It seems like once you are a member they dont care because they have your money. Conveniently enough they dont have anything until the end of Sept when we will then have 3 massages. I cannot deal with this place.
First time at Downey location. Esme was my masseuse. Had a great massage, she found all my knots and effectively melted each one. Have to show proof of vaccination or wear a mask.
If i could give this place 0 stars I would. Over the phone they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. All they want to do is gouge you for as much money as they can. They have no regard for loyal customers who have used their services for years. Save your money this corporation does not care about its customers!

We had a very negative experience at Massage Envy in Downey, CA. Because weve been working very hard the last month we thought it would be great to book a family massage where all four of us could get a massage at the same time. My wife called around a few days ago and the first two places she called could not accommodate all four of us at the same time then she called Massage Envy who said they could so we booked an appointment and drove there on our way to Long Beach to go tour the Queen Mary. We arrived to find out that one of the masseuses was running late so they were going to start mine and my sons massages a few minutes late. No big deal. After waiting for almost an hour which by that time my wife and daughters massages were almost done the masseuse still hadnt shown up. So to make it work they would now have to sit and wait for an hour while we got our massages which would mess up the rest of our afternoon plans. All the supervisor, Rachel could do was apologize and really did nothing to make this situation right. She didnt offer a discount on the two massages that happened and didnt offer any kind of discount so that we could do a family massage at a different location another time. All she offered was to reschedule the massages for my son and I at this location which wasnt going to work since we had a full day already planned today and tomorrow and then were leaving the area plus she still expect me to pay full price to come back another time. Things happen and mistakes are made which is no big deal but when its your fault you should take responsibility and do something more than just apologize to make it right. Thats why we made a reservation two days in advance. This was our first attempt at using Massage Envy and will be our last! We will go back to small local spas like we have used in the past.
I had to wait over a month for my appointment and I show up and they tell me it has been cancelled. Whoever cancelled it didn’t put any notes in the system explaining why they cancelled my appointment. I went ahead and made another appointment and had to wait another month. I walk in and once again my appointment has been cancelled. Apparently the esthetician no longer works there and was supposed to contact me to cancel but instead she noted that she tried to contact me and my phone is no longer in service. They told me the good news is that they wouldn’t charge me for that day!!! Then they wanted to schedule another appointment but they didn’t have anything available until a month and a half later. No thanks!!!! I’ll spend my money somewhere else.
If you are able to get an appointment the massages are very good all of the therapy massage therapist Ive had are really good. However, that is, if youre able to get an appointment after you sign up for a years membership and give them your card so they can take money out every month. I find that I have to call around to other branches that seem to be able to make appointments for you. If you go in there as a first time and prospective member, they act like theyre going to be able to accommodate you all the time, but they dont.
Totally relaxed and revitalized. I received a 1 hour facial from Rosa and a 1 hour massage from Debbie. Both ladies were professional and accommodating to my needs. The front desk team is also very helpful. Thank you so much.
Literally just got off the phone with such a horrible receptionist. She was so rude and said my grandma left without paying after my grandma gave them her gift vouchers I gifted her. She didn’t even apologize or anything after she found the vouchers under our accounts. Next time don’t let people leave without verifying their payment and then try to make an older lady go back.Don’t bother trying to reach them through the link they send, its been over a month and no one has gotten back to me.
We went on saturday, no appointments available that day, they give us appt. For tuesday at 6 pm, when we called to confirm our appointment they told us it was not made, there was no record, we intent to use a gift card they checked and with that appointment was made, but we were told appointment was not made because a credit card was not in file witch they never asked us to provide, another appointment was made for same day for 5 pm, when I get there the appointment was not made for 5 pm but for 645 pm, not only the service is bad but what is worst is the incompetence of the girls the work there and very, very poor customer service not even have the eager to assist and make you feel welcome, maybe the owner pays very little very poor that his or hers employes dont have desire to have good customer service. Dont go there if you like to be treated right, if you like bad service then go.
I enjoyed coming to this particularly location because of the friendly staff and the service they provide. I particularly enjoy going to the quiet room and listening to the music playing there. Also, I request for Necali to provide me with service, massage, since she is attentive to detail and always makes sure her clients are satisfied with their service. I am looking forward to my next service in January.
Dont buy there gift cards they dont honor them. Very expensive. The message is great. I wont go back.

I have been going to this location ever since it opened and wow what an amazing example of what a Massage Envy should be!!! It is always immaculately clean, well staffed with friendly/knowledgeable employees, plentiful parking, hot tea/spa water (cucumbers, lemon, etc), and have THE best massage therapist Ive ever gone to: Miguel (I actually followed him over from the Seal Beach location...which is a terrible place to be honest, but thats a whole other review). I have been getting deep tissue massages for 10+ years and Miguel really knows his stuff! Your initial 60 min is only $39 and $59 after that. I usually opt in for a 90 min which is only $79....a steal! If you want an amazing massage at a great place for an affordable price...this is it!!! I havent tried the facials, but thats next on my list :)
I came to massage envy for the first time on my birthday March 29, 2017 and they gave me Brenda who was the absolute best. I will and have referred people to her already. She works from 3pm to closing.
Pleaseeeeee stop coming here for sessions at this location! Nothing is clean here! Everything has mold! And everything is old! From the washing machine to the towels they use on your body! No wonder I was always sneezing! So please be aware and stop coming to this location ! And the owner is cheap he doesn’t put any money in the location! Also he doesn’t supply any cleaning supplies for the massage therapist!

Dealing with front office and over the phone staff continues to be challenging and stressful.Massage staff is great. However, tips and business will be impacted by negative experience the moment we walk in the door.
I love Massage Envy Downey. The first time I went, I was afraid I would get a Cookie Cutter type massage. I couldnt have been more wrong, The therapists work on exactly what you need, and you will leave feeling great! I look forward to going regularly. The front staff is great too! People go to these places to relax, not to be treated with disdain. Last night I called to book an appointment for this morning, and I dont know how more specific i could get in my request: do you have a male masseuse available tomorrow morning? Girl on the other line said yes, we have 60minutes or 90 minutes at 8am, I said ill take the 90minutes. Now in retrospect, i should have anticipated the worst when she said ok, you are all set for 8PM i said well, im calling for a MORNING appointment remember? She then repeated 8pm and i said you mean AM! right?!? she responded yes, AM. Ok,no big deal i thought. The main issue that would later arise (and again, i should have seen it coming by how distracted she had been already) was when she gave me my therapists name, sounded like Laily? so to AVOID a misunderstanding, i asked is that a male therapist? she said YES! I went on and said oh, ok, because it doesnt sound like MAN s name she said it is a male again.well, i show up half asleep to my appt 10 minutes early and when the masseuse approaches me after 8am, it is a female. I say, i am sorry, i dont mean to be rude, but i SPECIFICALLY requested a male therapist she was very nice and said oh, ok, i am sorry about that, lets find out what happened. She walked me over to RACHEL, the front desk receptionist, whos personality was already abrasive from the moment she checked me in the first time (isnt an upbeat, friendly personality a requirement in customer service period, but specially at a place that promotes relaxation??) said to me well, we have an 8am with a male if you prefer, but he is only 60minutes i was like ok, whatever at this point. But reiterated my conversation with who ever booked my appointment the night before, to which she retorted, well, i wasnt here, but we dont usually have male therapists available for 90 minutes anyways. Now I truly got upset, because i know for a FACT this isnt true. Well my mom gets her 90 minute massages with a male masseuse at least once a month here, and her last one was yesterday!you know, we are not perfect at the front desk.wow, i was shocked but at this point i just wanted my massage. So when the therapists walked me over to the room he tells me about the upgrades i can add on such as aromatherapy, i briefed him on the situation and how upset i was and the LEAST they could do is give me an add on the house since i was not getting my 90mins after all. he came back and said sorry, they said no.well...I understand people are not perfect, This is obvious by the schedulers mistake and Rachels unprofessional comment in itself, however, it is ridiculous that she felt the need to throw it in my face rather than easing the situation. I work in real estate, imagine me saying yes, i know you said you wanted to see a 3 bedroom house, but this is a 2, ooops!pay attention to your job and dont upset the clients that keep you employed! I live down the street but i would much rather drive to Lakewood, Long Beach or even Brea. Downey Massage Envy, I am ashamed you are in my city, makes us look bad as a whole.oh, and to make my experience worse, my appt ended at 9pm on the dot, even though it didnt start till after 8:15 with the correct room not being ready, and inquiring of the add ons, etc.

Very bad services. They scheduled me 7pm with a female masseuse and when I was driving to the location they called me canceling me to push my appointment for a later time which I didnt agreed on. Then they wanted to give me a Male masseuse. This company has very poor communication and services I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone or friends and family. This is why I canceled my membership with them.
I have been a member for more than two years now and I love it! The staff is courteous and the service never disappoints. My only complaint is having to give them up for financial reasons. Chris is the best!!

Came here a massage for B-day. Nice place but the masseuse pinched a nerve. (right arm) Barley can sleep at night due to the fact that my arm goes numb. Even at work my arm goes numb. I didnt go back because it would be hard to prove the masseuse pinched MY nerve. If you decide to go then make sure that the Masseuse has all the right credentials. So you dont end like me.
