Decided to stay in that area due to the close proximity of the airport. Area looks a little bit rough but we walked down to the Embers and had a wonderful time... food was good and reasonable, listen to some karaoke, had a nice feel due to all the locals. The karaoke was the most fun!
I love this place! I cannot say anything bad at all. Parking I thought was going to be an issue, but its not. Theres more parking along the side & back of Embers. They have live music which is the best. I know The Survivors that play at Embers every 3rd weekend of the month & they are just about as spectacular as you could imagine & Im not just saying that cause I know them. I say that cause they really are the best band Ive heard & they play at Embers which has the BEST food EVER!!!
Food was ok, typical bar food. Service was slow and had to ask for refills on drinks. Had to ask for our bill so we could leave our waitress just kinda disappeared. Place was also on the noisey side which I could not understand because it was only 11am
This was your classic senior center dive bar. But it was one of the friendliest dive bars Ive been to, with some of the best food. Owners/management was extremely friendly and courteous, local color looked like we just pitched a tent in their front yard. I would definitely recommend this place, just use the buddy system as there is safety in numbers.
Place was good, bigger than it looks. It looks like they have a couple signature dishes, see pictures and get the emberized. Menu is big. Taps are Bud, Bud Light, Coors Light, Widmer hef, Sweet As, Boneyard RPM, Citrus Misstress, and a Cider. Looks like they do live music here but I dont know what days. Cheers.
The bar has live bands on weekends. Has a dance floor. They have good drinks with reasonable prices. The cocktail waitresses and bartender are friendly. The Embers bar has been there for decades and has a loyal following of patrons. Everybody there was extremely friendly and welcoming. The parking lot is shot and needs to be replaced but theres lots of space. The door into the bar is not handicapped accessible unless someone opens and holds the door for you which someone did every time-the people of Eugene are extremely helpful and friendly. Please click on or LIKE below if you found this review helpful ☺
The coffee was good which is not a general rule in restaurants anymore. I had an omelette with fresh ingredients topped with excellent service!
Chicken fried steak and eggs over medium Hasbrouck sought dough bread with strawberry jam and of coarse country gravy.Am I making you hungry yet?Superfantastico
I was expecting a typical dive bar/pub food experience, but while the menu is definitely not health food, it also is some of the best pub grub Ive ever tasted. Absolutely going to become a go to when I want old fashioned comfort food!
Great food, wonderful service, relaxed atmosphere. My one gripe is, no matter how politely I phrase it, the smoking hot server refuses to sit on my face. 6/9. Will keep at it 😁
New owners seem to be on the path of fixing things up. The staff is attentive and always smiling. Their karaoke lady SASSY PATTY is awesome too.
Worst broasted chicken I have ever had. Over cooked to where there was zero moisture in the chicken. Like chicken jerky. The bartender was great.
Great food! Big portions, breakfast served all day. Good alcoholic drinks, gaming. Sometimes the music is too loud, but they are good about lowering the decibal level on the speaker near you if you ask.
Small local bar. I would never go out of my way just to get there. The staff is really friendly though. For all you video poker players they have machines.
We had lots of fun playing the trivia game. Although we came in last place, we didnt necessarily lose, because last place gets to pick the category for the next trivia game night. Our server was very good and really friendly, she always had a smile and was attentive and punctual to everything. The food was good and filling, my girlfriend and I shared a Fish & Chips and still had some leftovers 🤤My only reason for the 4 ⭐ is because of the obviously homeless person who came in to get out of the rain and decided to come over to our table and slyly made his way into the conversation and in my opinion was hoping to look like he was with us so he wouldnt be kicked back out into the rain. (🤷🏼♂️ Thats the vibe I was getting from him anyway). All in all, I would recommend Embers and I do plan on going back.
Super fun PLACE and everyone seems to have a great time, I know I do every time Im there
Red Thunder band is FIRE ! My first visit I walked into a room full of friends I didnt know existed. From the staff to the patrons, and the house band Red Thunder I aint no spring chicken, so I know a good thing when I see it. And this place and the fine folks in it is the real deal. You owe it to yourself to check it out.
We love to dance and Red Thunder provides great music! The food is good. My only negative was the last bartender did not make a good drink. I will return. Perhaps it was a new bartender or he was having an off day. I recommend this establishment!
As I dig through the map on my sales trips, I’m always on the lookout for something different. The fact that this place had finger steaks and I haven’t had them in…. Forever sure helped my decision. The place looks rundown from the outside but it was kept clean inside. It wasn’t anything special regarding decor but it is a bar / diner, so I wasn’t expecting a lot.Their menu had a lot more on it than I would have figured considering the kind of place that it is. Usually they are limited. But they had a large variety.I did of course order the finger steaks and TOTS (duh) LOL. TOTS, we’re cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The finger steaks were tender and not tough or chewy. The flavor was good but I kept using this chipotle or pepper aioli that they had which was delicious. The waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. Though they had a light staff as she had to keep going back to wash dishes.I was there during the day, so I can’t speak to any of the nightlife or evening entertainment. But they had a chalk calendar that seemed full for the month.
We had an awesome experience here, we drove 13 hours from Boise Idaho on vacation when United Airlines grounded us and we ended up driving straight to get home. We found this gem when the roads iced over, the wood paneling and old school atmosphere was just what we needed after a 20 hour day. The regulars were cool and invited us right in. Great food and a great atmosphere. Our server/bartender was Leyleh was great and always kept the drinks coming and always checked on us. I highly recommend this for anyone 21 and up
I like to drop in for the slot machines. Bartenders are friendly. They do a lot of music it seems.
I have been going here for years and love the people that have become regular fixtures here. Live music and karaoke weekly creates a fun place to go and hang out. This is mostly a older group of people ranging from 49 - 99 years young.
Good breakfast place, poor dinner choice if you want to eat in the diner during nights with live entertainment. The wait staff leans towards the bar crowd because thats where the tips are. My service was slow and once I received my meal I never saw my waitress until I got the ticket.
Great place for drinks and good food. A really nice bartender there is a fellow Sarah. She is very friendly and lots of fun. I came there after an after party to continue having fun with some new friends and we really did choose the best spot. It was a pleasant surprise for me because I never usually go to that part of town.
I was listening to people sitting at the bar complaining about the service. I have no complaints about the service I had. Didnt eat here so I have no idea about the food.
This place doesnt look like much from the outside but it makes up for it inside with good food good people and a HomeTown atmosphere. I usually get the same thing every time Im there and its the chicken fried steak dinner which always satisfies and leaves me full and thankful for choosing that entree. Sometimes I try the special and have never been disappointed anything from enchiladas to ribs they always seem to put together a nice meal that reminds me of a wholesome dinner from home. Sometimes there is karaoke or live entertainment which is never overbearing and oftentimes a draw for a good crowd. The staff is always been very friendly and attentive and good at their duties. I wouldnt expect something fancy when going to the embers but I never leave there thinking that Ive done anything but pay for a good time and food. Drinks are strong and theyll keep coming as long as youre sober enough to order one which is just about right
Update: They still have really good food and if Jasmine is working youll get great service! BUT if you want to call in an order be prepared to call 3 or 4 times to get someone to answer and possibly be put on hold indefinitely. Its sad, they have great food. This has happened several times. :( Taking a star away.Great food! Possibly the best country fried steak in town! Crispy coating and great gravy. Delicious home fries and bacon too!UpUpdate: 3.31.21I just had their fiesta salad and it was SO good! They wash and chop the lettuce in house. No pre bagged stuff here! They also make many of the dressings in-house as well. I would give it 10 stars if I could!
They consistently have some of the best staples of Americana grub Ive ever had! Service is almost always very good, super friendly and attentive! We got there during the Sunday brunch rush today so it took awhile to get our food and even then with being slammed our waitress was very nice and apologetic. Highly recommended!
Amazing Service! Super friendly waitress and good food. We went to try the chicken fried steak and it was good... Not great, but good.Again, the place was so full of good energy, except for the distance from the house, it was a nice visit. We continue our quest for the best chicken fried steak in the greater Eugene area!
Friendly energetic ladies keep the place drinking. Good crowd kept the energy flowing Serve food I didnt indulge myself but seemed popular with the regulars. I left with more than I came in with remember gamble responsible.
Super sad about this. But waited way way to long to get our order. Which never came. Waited over 30mins. So we left. They weren’t even busy. Barely anyone there. Then the lady that gave us our seats and menu was acting crazy high. Going back and forth not even doing anything. Just walked around not even trying to take our order. We even tried to get her attention and just ignored us. She was high on something and it was very obvious.
Friendly place, huge variety on the menu, reasonably priced drinks and live music. First time so we will be back.
My burger wasnt cooked correctly. The fries were amazing. My husband had fish and chips and 2 over easy eggs. He said his fries were amazing and the eggs but not the cod from fish and chips. No one was wearing masks including the works and it they were wearing them they were on wrong and would do no good. Prices are good. I have ate here b4 a couple yrs ago and they were amazing. Idk what happened.
The food was good, solid stick-to-your ribs stuff. We both had the Chicken-Fried Steak, and I also ordered some biscuits and gravy, to try them out.Portion sizes were enough that we had plenty for later. The gravy was good, with a nice spice array, and fine quantities of sausage; but, a little over-the-top on salt. The biscuits were nicely dense, just as a good B&G plate should be.Hash browns were, as requested, nicely crispy. The eggs were cooked to order (over-easy) and not overdone, but seemed to be lacking in flavor, though, that cannot be held against the establishment. The lavatory, however, was the weak spot. It wasnt that it was dirty - it wasnt. But, it was poorly maintained, and the stall door latch didnt work at all. The only thing holding the door closed was friction from the damaged, and no longer aligned, door, which had to be pounded back into place after leaving the stall. If they would get around to replacing that stall wall and door, that would bring the score up considerably. It wasnt like the damage was recent. That said, I am looking forward to trying out their dinner menu sometime.
Bartender is personable and fun but still mindful of her duties. The food was mediocre and smelled really icky. I had tacos and they stunk the place up horribly. The floor plan is we thought-out, spacious and open and can accommodate reasonably a large number of patrons. The bar has a considerable number of amenities and is surprisingly pleasant considering its drab street side appearance.
Great local bar with karaoke! Very friendly bar staff!!!
I came & had a Cobb Salad the other day. WOW. Huge, fresh, delicious & I ate it for 2 days! Breakfast here is truly one of the best in Lane County, but that Cobb Salad was definitely in the top 3 in ALL of Lane County!! This place has Great Eats, great Bands, great dancing, great Scot, why arent you here? They have a bisquit & gravy breakfast that cannot be beat for taste or price! Deep fried battered green beans, get outta here! I just cannot say enough good about The Embers! I come here to see my friends in the band Rock n Rewind perform. I like the venue a lot & they have tasty food to order to sustain you while dancing your butt off! The crowd is fun, jovial & I have never seen a bar fight here. If gambling machines are your thing, there are many to choose from. The dance floor is good sized & the acoustics are great. Its time to start dancing again!
The staff is what makes this place!!! Lots of regulars, but a very comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Fries were an average krinkle fry, but the burger was next level exellent!!! (Had the blue burger) I cant wait to go back next time Im in Eugene. Also I think my waitresses name was Bobbi, and she was amazing.
Oh Texas Twinkles ...oh yummy ...and the lady bartender with the long black hair is so nice ...and the singing some of the folks do is amazing..
I played the slots while I was there. Its a completely different bar inside compared to the bar it was way back when when it was always called Menopause Lane. Younger Crowd of people goes there, been redone inside the bar, more opened up and the atmosphere was great. Try going there and you will feel comfortable once you walk in
Went on a dive bar pub crawl and got to experience this place. From the outside it looks like its seen better days. The inside looks like that as well. But drinks were good and I got hit on by a professional and that was awkwardly funny.
A great place for dining. Ive never been disappointed with the food, big fan of any burger theyve prepared. Tots are crisp and warm, the ranch is solid, the staff is fantastic. You get what you pay for, dont let the bill scare you off.
Was not impressed with Embers health standards when I went there for dinner Saturday 29th. As I was waiting for my broasted chicken dinner, a guy in street clothes had his mutt wandering around in the bar from front to back, THEN he decides to take his dog with him to the back kitchen and hang out with his buddies! That did it for me, a dog allowed to hang out back in the kitchen and cooks petting him while cooking my food. I talked with the nice young lady waiting on me about it and she agreed, she said she noticed him going back with his dog too and SAID she would discuss this with the owner. Just sayin, comon - I pay a good price for bar meal there and I dont appreciate the compromise of dog licks or hair potentially touching my high priced food at a restaurant. Wont be eating there again.
The Karaoke leaves something to be desired but Im not getting up there so kudos to them. The food is standard but done well actually. We have been 2 times and the first time was a great experience. He was very friendly and checked on us at the right times. The second time a young lady took forever to follow up on things and seemed like other things were more important. Sidenote: we were one of 2 families in the dining side and the other family had the same issue .
Sunday karaoke with Patty is great!! Makes me son feel involved with the crowd!! Great people & food!!
Its a good place to have a drink and some food.. Service was friendly. Prices were good. Food was really good. And good portions. Try the sidewinder fries. Theyre delicious. Will definitely be going back again, soon.
The atmosphere and service was great, the product was bad. $7 for a shot of Bushmill’s is pretty high. $25 for a 12 ounce prime rib is also pretty high. Especially considering that it couldn’t have been above choice grade, and came with frozen crinkle cut fries and frozen veggies. I ordered it rare but it came out medium the first time, they got it right the second time. I was really excited about the house made clam chowder, which had actual clams. However the first bite was very sandy and gritty. I would have paid $15 for that meal, but $25 was dishonest.
This is a nice local bar. The night we went they had live music and an older crowd. It was fun to see. The food was good and the service was nice. I was over all impressed if you are looking for a super nice local place to eat at this is one you should definitely consider.
Good food, good service, nice bartenders and wait staff. Weekends they sometimes have live bands. Fun atmosphere, easy going clientele, lots of regulars. Typical neighborhood bar. Love it!
HIGHLY DISSAPOINTED!!!!HIGHLY DISSAPOINTED!!!! 2 stars is in relation to the music played and the partial attempt at being nice by the server. We decided to go here for, what we heard was, good food. It was 930p on a Thurs. So the place wasnt super busy and kinda cozy. Then it c all went down hill!!1) started with the fact , noone showed to bring us menus so I went to bar and asked for them. We got them, decided what we wanted 2chef salad and BBQ pork slides. So no service at table, so I return to bar to place my order.2) was informed as I was ready to place out orders that it was fried for only. Somehow the salad were grill items, so we settled for 2 chicken strip baskets and 2house salads( which werent considered grill items)3) about 30 min. Had gone by, we still didnt have our drinks. So to the bar I go, yet again.4 ) I politely requested our drinks and the server presented very annoyed with my Request. Finally received those just moments before our food.5) the food that came out was not anything we ordered: no salads were brought and we received 2 orders of fish n chips.6) I go to bar to see about our salads. When she brought the salads, I inquired in the fish instead of chicken I was told the cook chewed her out saying chicken strip were a grill item(since when, this is a very common fried bar did item) and she tells me that she cleared the fish n chips replacement with my spatial needs son, not the person who placed the orders(me)..7)the food got cold quickly and the quality was sub-par at best!!I literally had to go to the server, wherever she was to make any requests for refills and additionall salad dressing.8)I could have done better food at home with leftovers or McDonalds for a hell of a lot less than $45!!!9) the server was hard to read, one interaction was pleasant, the next not!!The best thing I can say is the music played by DJ was right up my alley and it g had a large dance floor!!I will not be returning to eat there but might consider going back for the music and dancing!! ( which is why I am giving 2stars).
The staff was friendly, theFood was good, and the portion size was huge; however the place looks and feels like a business that is dying and the building was dilapidated as well as freezing cold. It was so cold I ate without removing my wool blend overcoat. My dining partner said the bathroom was even colder than the dining room. 5 stars for service and food but less than one for the rest of the experience. I wanted to give them 4 stars, but that would have been misleading.
The food far exceeded my expectations. It was cooked perfectly. My order was precisely correct. There was alot of extras and everything was perfect. Im going to order and pick up from here regularly. I cant give enough praise. The employees went above and beyond. The customer service was sincere and I felt very well taken care of. Id give everyone a $10 an hour raise if it was within my power.. Your staff makes or breaks you. This is such a great example of the kind of people we all wish we could have on our team. Thank You for being so genuine, kind, proficient, and masters in the kitchen🥰
I have been going to the Embers since I was 21 years old to the bar, but my entire life to the restaurant! My mother worked there, my best friends mom worked there, it was one of my fathers favorite places. And now even though he is deceased, his brothers still frequent
Live music and dancing on weekends. Older nice folks, hence the nickname Polyester Palace lol. Great food & steaks.
Looks like a dive bar, dont let that dissuade you. Breakfast was amazing and huge. Housemade jams were fantastic! Even made special pancake shapes for my kids! Dont keep driving by this place like I had been doing for so many years.
Food is top notch and the price is very reasonable and the portions are more than adequate. Happy to have found a go to place thats also close to home.Ive had the Chili Rellano Frittata 3 times now. It is very very good.ETA: 4X now on the fritata. But the best deal is the biscuits and gravy and their tots are fried well. Heard it was the chefs son running the show when we were there last.
My husband and I love this place! Today we got the black and blue burger. We have gotten it before and enjoyed it. Today not so good. It didnt have any blue cheese crumbles or bacon! The tator tots where burned. So sad. I really enjoy this place. Most of the time it doesnt even bother me that the food takes forever! We always know its going to be delicious! Today Im disappointed! Will be awhile before I go back!
Ok alright I was 86d for not a reason needed to give much like an eviction or getting fired.thats what it is. However notice not one month later they keep Mt card when Im not even there. My plea to you is look at your bill while having fun at the Embers ... next week and the week after your not even there check your cards my darlings ...help yourself and be well and beware of their billing when your not even there. Call Tina shell explain much as a ? block pro ess to male you feel its ok join the team your not alone bit your wallet is empty because she stole
Great environment, one of my favorite places to play vp!
It was the worst experience we have had going for dinner. The food took forever (over 1 1/2 hours) all together. Ordered prime rib and both came out cooked wrong also the Tacos we ordered were burnt.. They werent busy and I asked about the wait on our food 3 times and no one cared. Its close to my house but noy worth it at all..
This place used to be awesome with great food and service. Went in today and had to listen to a employee that was not working tell the world her life story very loudly while demeaning her grandkids and distracting the staff with her foul language. We were one of 3 tables in the whole place and it took 20 minutes to take our order and then took almost 30 minutes to get subpar food - there was more staff than patrons makes no sense that it took so long. This place has gone seriously downhill. There has been zero upkeep...the carpet is ripped up, the tables are wobbly and dirty.
Food is amazing as long as you ask for the food side before ordering. Amazing house ranch and great char flavor without missing the med rare/rare mark. That was my previous experience. Now I return to a very terrible experience. Had to wait for the bartender to make far too many drinks when I called in and my food is sweating in the back. Not to mention giving me my food sideways so my gravy is mostly in my bag and an upcharge for a side of bacon just for a container. Absurd.
Found some sugar in a tiny plastic baggie on hwy 99. I put that ground score in my morning coffee. Stuff made me want to touch video lottery machines. like i had magic fingers.. That were gonna help me hit the big one. So, i decided to check out the embers. And i lost my entire social security check. Should have known it was a bad idea when i walked in and all i could smell was goldbond and vicks vapor rub.
Great food, great price
Its a dark bar with extremely fun and friendly bar tenders. I had a simple drink that was well portioned and a great conversation with the bartender and some of the regulars. Honestly a very welcoming and friendly place, if a bit run down.
They have incredible food. Im a good eater and am really blown away not only at the size of the menu but the consistent quality of the food. I love liver and onions. Good iron people. Best in town.
Usually eat here when visiting from Portland. Never a bad meal. The chef is crazy good. Last thing I had was steak and eggs. The steak was awesome . Their blue cheese burger is insanely good.
This lil place was hit with a huge breakfast rush. And the blonde with long pony tail worked so hard to serve alot of people all at once, the bartender seem to try to help but the waitress really impressed me a lot. She never crumbled under the pressure.
The Embers is a good bar. This bar has always gotten lively, and fun. I believe they have live music once a week, and they have karaoke tonite as well. The food is always good at The Embers.
My family and I went here for breakfast a little after 11am, we stood and waited to be seated and no one seated us so we sat down finally assuming to seat ourselves. We ordered, I waited for 30 minutes before the waitress brought my orange juice, noticed a cat climbing a buffet table in what I hope was a storage room, looked down and saw the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed in days, and then I saw the used boxers on the floor under the table!!The waitress was sitting with a cook who was on his 3rd screwdriver and by 45 minutes as my family got up to leave, the cook yelled at the waitress to come get the damn food.We weren’t sticking around.
It’s a mom and pop restaurant/bar grill. It’s still a classic from my childhood days. Still serving large servings and great food to sit down to eat. Had breakfast with an old friend from the old neighborhood. Good place to sit down, eat some good grub and put a couple of dollars in the VP machine.
Its a cool place to hangout and listen to a live band. The only thing that gets me is the price for food there. Super spendy for ok food in my opinion.
Very dirty. . Floors were filthy. Service slow. Waitress was nice. Food was good. Probably wont return due to unclean and slow service. It was not even busy. . Just a few customers. .. used to be a good place to eat, but has site changed for the worse. .
We really enjoy this place. The food is excellent and the karaoke is so much fun. We appreciate the bands and the staff. Drinks are delicious. We recommend Embers and bring all our friends here.
Good food, nice people
Ive been around here for a very long time. My joeseph was very close with Marv. Well my dad died 2 yrs ago. Marv has since been a support. Unfortunately also is tired. And now it seems like Embers is tired as well. I hope she survives. Please support what Embers truly is. And thats family loyalty honor with grace. Its a given kandmark for those whom work love luve with loyalty beyond means. And choose not to participate with the younger generation by way of manipulation tactics in taking advantage of their Elders...SHAME ON YOU! Ill be close with this knowledge in hopes you remember your part at the Embers from hence it broke ground!
Cute little place. Big TV for football no sound tho just TERRIBLE county music. Ended up leaving because of the no sound for Sunday football.
Good food and great service. The yound ladies that waited on our table of 13 were absolutely amazing. Super fast and very attentive. Will definitely be going back
My friend and I went there for a quick lunch today. After being there 15 min, we had to get our own menus. By the time our waitress came to get our order, which she wrote on her hand, we both had figured out what we wanted and had played a game of gin rummy. By the time our food came we played three more games and had been there an hr. And my order was wrong. Then my order was wrong. Busy? Not at all! When we got there, there were three tables. We will not be back.
While it may not look appealing, the food sure makes up for it. Fresh veggies, fresh meat, and well prepared sides. Friendly staff, very accommodating. We will be returning, totally worth it.
The bartenders are awesome, the crowd is mostly chill and the karaoke on Sunday is top notch. I like the chill atmosphere and the drinks are reasonably priced plus the food is good. I highly recommend this place.
I simply love this ma and pa type dive place. It isnt formal and thats ok... because the food and service are awesome!!! Great karaoke sunday and mondays. Fantastic drinks. Fabulous food... great service. Sarah is an amazing manager and trained people wonderfully. Try the quesadillas and fresh potato chips, salads, broasted chicken, club sandwich or breakfasts for sure... great coffee too!
Waited a half hour for a burger in an empty house. When it finally came to the table, I didnt get what I ordered. When I mention to the server that they messed up my order she says, What... are you allergic to that?. Terrible service. Just terrible. Over-priced too.
I’ve been going to the embers for a short period of time in my experience the workers are all fairly nice just extremely lacking direction while there are a couple employees that know what they are doing most seem like they have been hired off the street with little to no training I’ve recently found out that the current manager has already ran her own personal bar into the ground and I would hate to see somthing like that happen due to the extremely poor management while I very much enjoy this bar the only problem I see with the establishment is management because the employees are nice and usually willing to be of service. I like the embers and while I’m going to continue to go there I just wish the manager would take initiative and do what she is supposed to do. Like train and enforce equal work loads I’ve seen bartenders leave the bar for the next shift absolutely trashed this is unacceptable.
We enjoyed each item of our dinners very much. We started with appetizers and ended with desserts and spent $52 including tip for 3 adults. Good value-for-money.
If there was the possibility of zero stars thats what I would give this place. I tried to take my Mom here for her birthday Saturday night. We walked in with my father and my fiance and were told to sit anywhere. We grabbed seats and were given menus and silverware by a waitress. After that no one ever returned to take drink orders, bring us water, or even acknowledge our presence. The waitress returned to the room several times to take care of a larger group but never even looked at our table. We got up and walked out and went to a different restaurant. Would never go here again!
I wish they had more vegan options on the menu, Id tell all my friends and stop by a lot more often and shoot pool. Employees are nice.
Food was amazing. Service was great glasses were never empty. Place had great wifi it was fast and stable. Carpet had holes in it and bath rooms could use some TLC. Otherwise it was a great place to eat!
Great food! One of my fave phillys in town.. Corned beef hash breakfast is also delicious. They do not do cocktails to go.
The staff was friendly but the breakfast was lacking flavor, none of the orders came out together. Everything took forever to come out. When we finally got coffee at the table we still had to ask for coffee cups. It just seemed very disorganized and took twice as long as it should have.
Great food, good entertainment. Building needs some work but they have done a lot; replaced the flooring so now the inside is much better, added some lighting, nice pony bar.
Im here @ 9 p. m. On a Thursday. This must be where the HIP seniors hang. Its a full bar and a decent band. So if youre of that certain age group and wondering where to find fellow funsters - theyre right here... Laughing, dancing and eating great food.
Shrimp cocktail was bomb. Bartender was good. Waitress was a little slow. And then I had my backpack stolen. So just keep watch of your belongings while you are there.
The staff is super friendly and the food was pretty good. The place seems very worn and needs to be updated.
Nice, pleasant atmosphere. Great place to relax and talk with someone. Bartenders friendly and attentive. Jukebox, slot machines, keno, live music on certain days, restaurant and grill, good people.
Honestly the facility is dated but this old dive bar has great food and religious patrons. The menu is robust and full of value. If looking for good food and a quieter dining experience head to Embers.
We waited over an hour for some pretty average-to-gross diner food. Chicken fried steak was OK, biscuits and gravy were almost OK, the bacon was bad: overcooked, thickly greasy, over smoked, and extra chewy; one of our breakfasts wasnt made - additional wait time for that, but not worth the wait for any item ordered. The waitress was friendly, but the place wasnt packed and there were other servers working... Wont be back if I can help it.
Not a lot of breakfast joints in this part of town, so we tried Embers and were pleasantly surprised. The dining area is decent and the food was fresh. Definatly a notch above. Great friendly service. We will be back.
Ive almost always had a great time at Embers- friendly staff, great karaoke, family friendly and the food is great!
Good people, old school manners, and humans with brains( remember those) both humans &brains, that you dont see any more..add well taught politeness, manners, the folks that remember your name, equals = Good Food, lots of Smiling ..A Real Class Act comfortably ,What is the definition of friendly fun ?EMBERS
Great place for food. Its not fancy but its good
Very friendly people who work here they really make you feel comfortable rt when u walk in atmosphere is nice and the food is awesome. It was brought to me in a reasonable time frame as well.
Great place, but the customers who go there😆. You can watch and hear others peoples confos. Not to be weird but dont want ur drama while im eating some biscuits and gravy.
Feels like home very welcoming establishment my husband and I love it ! 😀 💜
Went to Embers for breakfast for the first time today. Food and coffee were good and priced right. My omlette was super fluffy and cram jam full of delicious turkey, bacon, cheese and avocado. Hubbys chicken fried steak was excellent. Hash browns were exactly the right mix of crunchy outside, fluffy inside. And the housemade strawberry and mango jams alone would have me coming back. However, the best part was the excellent service. Our waitstaff were friendly, attentive, and very good with our two kids. Treated us like regulars and learned our names. They made Mickey Mouse pancakes at my 4 year olds request (we tipped extra for that alone) and the smile on the kiddos faces when they were served Mickey pancakes with whipped cream faces... Made our morning. We will be going back for sure.
Live music and kareoke is always a good time. Yummy comfort food & my favorite brew! I eat here often.
Small but lively little bar. Gaming, Dancing and Drinking.. top 3 things on the to do list so we got that covered. Older crowd, looks a little dicey form the outside but it is all good.
The Embers has good food the atmosphere is great and the Saturday morning bartender is to die for, shes really awesome, down to earth. They basically have 2 sides divided by a partition which allows minors when needed. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars is that it does need some remodeling with that , it is an overall gem.It tends to be an older crowd most of the time. Must visit!
Good food, friendly staff, generous portions. There was French Fries and tomato slices on the floor around one of the tables along with a few annoying flies that would not leave us alone.
This is a local bar that cant be explained, you have to experience it first hand. The food is better than most pub/bistros in Eugene. It reminded me of that old bar sitcom Cheers
Low-key local restaurant and bar with a neighborhood crowd and friendly service. The restaurant is divided into two sections, the bar area with dance floor, disco light, stage for live music, a few tables for eating, and of course, the bar. You can order food for take-out or dine in. The other section of The Embers is the main dining room, suitable for singles, couples and groups. 4 stars for overall service and local kitsch , it’s not a 5 star restaurant but it’s comfort food and a local hangout.
I got food poisoning! About 30 minutes after I ate some of the taco omelette with hash browns I got painful abdominal cramps and had to rush to the bathroom- where I was stuck for almost 40 minutes with diarrhea. Don’t risk it, the food isn’t worth it.
I went early in the day like noon so it was kind of dead.😎 to be expected. Played machines walked byXD away a loser
Not to put the friday night bartender on blast but I have never had a long island ice tea that weak . I could not taste a trace of alcohol. I go to this bar all the time , and will continue to .The day time bar tender serves the best long island in the world. So thats it Im only drinking in the day.
Decent food, good prices, great service
Went here for dinner at the recommendation of a few people and will not be going back ever. The dining room was disgusting with dirty tables and a floor covered in garbage and old food and the food I was served was the most bland and disappointing excuse for a meal Ive ever had the misfortune of putting in my mouth. My emberized Philly omelette came out painstakingly slow considering my boyfriend and I were 2 of 3 guests eating and the 3rd person there had already been served before wed even arrived. I asked for no peppers and was unimpressed when I realized that my omelette was overflowing with them. After I finished picking them all out I dug in and was disappointed to find that it was completely flavorless and the eggs were spongy. It wasnt edible, even after I tried doctoring it with tabasco. Somehow my country fries were both burned and mushy which made for a very unpleasant taste and texture. Finally as my last hope I turned to my English muffin. Unfortunately I was once again let down. It was not only soggy but cold as well. Not room temperature cold. Ice cold. The best thing I can say for this place was the jam was ok, even if it came out of a squeeze bottle.
I wish I could give less than 1 star. The place was absolutely disgusting and the service was terrible. The waitress carried her dog in her purse the whole time we were there and even pulled her dog out and showed us while there was food on the table! I was in such disbelief.
I was not very impressed with the food. It seems to have progressively gotten worse over the years. It used to be one of the best places to eat in town. Now, I dont think so. I give it 2 stars maybe.
Kariokee, Oregon Lottery, and mixed drinks with good company make this little dive, worth it. Its dark inside, but the bartender, i forget her name, is a hoot. She knows all the locals and its good to see, especially in a bar, that she truely, in my opinion, cares for them. So this dive gets a high 5, and i give it 3 stars
Embers is awesome. It is a local icon. A legend. Their food is the best secret of all. The menu is not overly wide but they have a respectable showing for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is very good. The prices are amazingly reasonable. Ex.. 4pc. Broasted Chicken Dinner complete with Baked Potato, fresh, steamed veggies, 2 pc. Texas toasted and a rather chincy dinner salad. The chicken is yummy. The band is off the hook terrific. They specialize in 70s thru present day. THE SURVIVORS.i dont imbibe but, i know that they make an honest drink. They make you feel right at home, kind of like a family woopi party. What more could one ask for.
There didn’t seem to be any wait staff in the place. Sat down and waited for quite a while but couldn’t seem to figure out if I was supposed to serve myself or if someone was going to do it for me. 0 stars for me. Had to leave hungry.
Need better cooks half the food is bland, noone cooks the same menu item the same way. The wait time is terrible at times they only know how to cook 1 meal at a time, and if you have a big group plan on being there a while. Eventually Youll end up knowing when to go there depending on what cooks are cooking that day and the food is actully good. If Sara the asst mgr is there she will make sure that if you have any problems. She Will Make It Right.
Have given this place several chances now. First off they have karaoke almost every night with a bunch of people that shouldnt even be allowed in a bar! They sit there and drink coffee, water and tea all night!! Is this place a bar or coffee shop??? Once in awhile they have bands which is about the only good thing they have going. But on band nights be ready for a bunch of the rudest fing old people Ive ever seen!!!! And I travel the country! So there food!! Lol! They sit there and brag about how good there food is! They cant even cook a burger right, also they have a horrible problem with making sure all your food comes out hot!! Its really not that hard!! As I know from prior restaurant cooking experience! Just as it should be pretty simple to get your meat done the way you order it ice medium or medium rare nope not here!!! Use thermometer!!! Not one cook there should be without! As for the latest episode Ive had there. So its Sunday football game is on this place a huge schedule and football specials on the wall... on top of that it is the 49er seahawk game!!! What do there have a bunch of coffee clutching karaoke singers!!! WTF!!! This place needs to make up its mind are you trying to be a supper club? Karaoke bar? Or a sports bar? You cant be them all!! So I gave this place plenty of chances and will never step foot in it again and gladly go spend my money elsewhere!
Interesting menu that was nicely put together. We had the soup of the day which was a really nice. All went well with the wine and the food that was recommended. Great place worth a visit.
Our bar tender Brian was great! Always a smile and phenomenal service! Definitely be back when hes working.
I like the place but there told me to leave for what reason I dont know I was never kick out for no reason. So Im still wondering why??(u shouldnt believe everything that someone tell u about someone else
Awesome place to eat and play some Video Lottery. I like the fact that they are open in the morning. Most places you have to wait until the afternoon to be able to play VP.
Call it Menopause manor, polyester alley, or just a bunch of desperados looking for their desperettes...this place hasnt changed much since it opened back in the dark ages. But, they do have some great live music, and lottery...and booze. Theyre located on the edge of felony flats and thats fun...mostly. Get drunk, dance with strangers, take a cab home and hopefully do the walk of shame the next morning. Youll regret it either way. Life is short so live it up.
We stopped in for breakfast.the food was great. Our waitress was friendly and provided excellent service. Everyone left full and happy.
Great service! Ordered the strawberry gargonzola salad. Fresh strawberries and lots of candied pecans, yummy 😋
Very disappointed. $15.00 for a shrimp Alfredo and it came with bay shrimp. Both my wife and I have had great experience before but Im afraid they have lost their touch.
Great food! Very good bands for dancing. Everybody is friendly and the customers who stay to dance are nice and sociable.
Very friendly staff and great atmosphere! Prices are really good for the quality and amount of food you are served... Highly recommend this place for a great meal and cozy surroundings!
Always great food and beverage. The bartenders are a hoot! Especially the twins, they both really take good care of your needs.
I love the place 🤩 everyone is so nice and chill
The best Chicken Fried Steak in town. Period. Service is friendly but slow as hell. Plenty of parking.
A bit pricey, but the food was great! I got a hamburger. It was so big! I had to cut it in quarters! Sweet potato fries were great!
This place looks like an average dive bar but the food is Great!!! The beef is antibiotic and hormone free and grass fed. Everything is homemade ,not from a box (sysco ect.).
Good food and great bands Red thunder is their best band. bartenders are okay but they keep getting new ones that dont know what theyre doing
My group had a very good, delicious lunch at The embers yesterday. Great place for meeting with friends or family, quiet enough for conversation, very important!
Always a great place to start your morning with breakfast or lunch, and after the dinner service is delicious. Good people and great food,Also the ni g.j gt life in the bar is off the hook.!!!!
Good place to get a strong reasonably priced drink
Friendly. A little over priced for bar food but a little above average. Mixed drinks arnt that good but super strong. One long island is enough for me.
I love sassy patty kj and jimmy g. What a great bar crew my favorite drinking place
I have been a patron of the members now for 30 years ,& I have always enjoyed going there. I must say I liked it so much better when the music was old Country.
We come here often. The food is fantastic and the service is great. Some nights theres live music to add you the ambience.
We waited almost 45 minutes for mediocre food. When we got there our order was taken quickly, and the waitress was really nice, but wont be going back.
Great place for people over 50, at a back patio karaoke and live band every weekend and a restaurant great place low key
I was very disappointed from the get-go walking in the place we passed unfinished drinks from the bar on the ground broken glass tables that hadnt been cleaned dishes piled up service was terrible food was average Ive eaten here before and probably will not eat here again
We love embers. Not best food ever but it definitely is a favorite diner of ours. Always room for improvement.
Great attitudes and prompt service with great food. Cant go wrong with that plus they have live music on Fridays!!!
Good food at reasonable prices. The menu ranges from starters to dinners. It is standard American fare. They do breakfast all day.
Went in and got sat down. The server forgot about us and lost a 100 dollars so she was looking for that. She gave up and came to take our order after a hour. She came back from the kitchen and she said the cook refused to cook anything because past kitchen hours. So we paid our tab and went down the street.
Food portions are Amazing all their food was great Chicken fried Steak yummy 😋 The waitresses are so very nice
The food was good, not great. The service was really slow, but with employee shortages that seems to be the normal right now.
Great food and good prices. A low profile atmosphere. Not too busy for lunchtime on a Friday too.
Clam Chowder is especially good & served with garlic toast.Good stuff.Service Excellent.Patio Outside are with Umbrella or without, Your Choice.Comfortable.
Everything was good but the bacon tasted old. Great service tho.
Nice people and services. The band was great and also the food. Prices are reasonable.
The dishwasher is the man. I saw him bus tables, clean a bathroom, sweep in parking lot, seat customers and call the waitress over to take our order. Not to mention the glasses and silverware were spotless.
The embers has delicious food during the day and great bartenders at night. Gene is a wonderful manager and does his best to do right by both customers and employees.
Had live music and was great went there for a birthday party and had a great time
Good service good food. One of my favorite places to eat. Highly recommend the club house sandwich
I was treated like a criminal. Will never be back. Im a single woman who drinks 1 beer and plays a little poker. I was treated like a criminal! Never again. 1 love and good vibes
Great service, good food, able to relax and have fun.
You wouldnt tell from the outside, or the inside that this place actually serves up a good breakfast. Ive only been there once but was pleasantly surprised
Awesome venue with friendly staff and patrons, Karaoke was a blast.
Had their breakfast. Was unseasoned, and awful all around. Havent had their lunch or dinner options so maybe I just ordered the wrong meal at the wrong time of day. but I dont recommend their breakfast options.
Karaoke is awesome. Sundays w/JimmyMondays w/Sassy Wednesdays w/Sassy.
Thank you for being open on Thanksgiving, great service, but for a restaurant thats been open for decades, it really needs work done, nothing worse than ripped carpets and dirty windows.
The price for food is kind of outrageous had to settle for biscuits and gravy to get out of there under $20
Love the food. Service is all depending. But still love the place!!! Cant even go 1 month without going in.
Its an ok bar. Clean (especially for being on Hwy 99). Decent food. Fairly strong drinks. Free WiFi.
The Ember are great, the environment is low key and friendly. Every time I come back theres always new tacos to try. This place is the best!!!
Sunday night kereoke is a fun community event. Good people! Patti does a great job with the music! 🎶💜🎶
Me and my sweetheart love this place! We have been going there since we moved from WA. Good food & people!
I ordered 2 Bacon Cheese Burgers, taste just like home! Good meat! I would bet its local.
Great place to eat, and sing karaoke!!
Always good food, nice staff and good music. Best little old school bar in town.
Great family dinner with great tasting food and pleasant staff!
A dive bar.cood so so .live entertainment wasnt good at all.locals place.dont recommend. Can be seen from road.not a place I would choose.restrooms available .gruff service.
The food is fine, the servers do spend a lot of time in the back and are not aware that people are waiting to place orders though...
We used to really love this place, but over the last year we limit going there. The food just doesnt seem as great.
Kind of like going back into the fifties. The food was great and the servers were very friendly.
Its what it is the last two years is the most Ive ever been in there menopause manner born and raised in the Eugene its fun
Always loved this place! Great food, good company and amazing staff! Always fun!
Ok place, mixed crowd, friendly staff. Could use some updating. Its more for beer drinking then wine sipping, if you know what I mean. And you find a stray druggie or homeless person.
Live music was great. Good service, clean bathrooms.
