Absolutely amazing and memorable experience I had at JVs Restaurant & Bar. I live in Pittsburgh. I was on a solo road trip to Raleigh and I stayed at a hotel nearby. I decided to venture out on a Wednesday night to explore the area and was shocked at how cool this place was. You dont really find low-key spots like this one anymore. There were folk artists playing music, which really set the tone for a great vibe. The bars aesthetic is so pleasing and the bartender was so sweet! Im so happy I stopped by JVs while I was in Virginia for a day. Hopefully one day Ill be in the area again and can make a visit!
Visited twice now, both experiences were great. Live bands Saturday and Sunday both playing a good mix of classic rock/folk songs. Tried the desserts of chocolate mouse and Peanut butter pie. So impressed we bought a T-shirt. Great place, not pretentious, live music since 1947. Must be doing something right!
Ive been coming here for years. This is a dive bar with great live music and OK food. The music is always great. The bar serves bottle/can beer and wine only but no tap beer or liquor service. Id love to see them double down on a great plate of nachos (theirs are dry and tasteless) as well as offer a draft beer option but if they did that, they wouldnt be a dive bar now would they? Ive come back here over and over again over the year to see fantastic bands. My advice is absolutely come for the music but eat before you go or at least know what youre getting. Have some beer or wine, dance with a partner or all by yourself because its all OK here. Folks are friendly, the bartenders are great folks, the patrons are easy going and nobody gets rowdy in a bad way. Drop any pretentiousness you have when you walk in and plan to have a great time and enjoy the show.
Ive been coming from Bethesda for many enjoyable visits for past 7 years and I love this place! Theyve been around for 78 years and its a classic both for music lovers and passionate musicians who come to this legendary music room from all over the country. The Owner Lorraine is 100% dedicated to her customers, the musicians that love to perform there and her hardworking staff. Their menu offers a wide variety of dinner and appetizer options at reasonable prices and they always aim to please!I come away time and again happy with my appetite very satisfied both for the great music and a great dinner! Thanks Lorraine and the staff at JVs and I look forward to more good times at your special place!
I really enjoyed this place. The food was great. I wanted a low calorie healthy dinner which they had and it was delicious. They served beer and wine only which was ok, I had a chardonnay. I would love to have had a margarita but wine was good enough. Service was great as well but the best part was the live jazz/blues band. Excellent entertainment!
We listened and danced to the band Cowboy Casanovas. 4pm to 7pm. Great fun enjoyed dancing to music of the 60s and 70s
Wow.... Havent been in for a long while. Far drive and retired and no longer up that way avoiding horrific traffic home from work and in night owl mode . Previously had lasagna and meatloaf to die for 👍👍.Looking for light fare ...ordered the club with chips and real fresh brewed tea.....cant do it justice describing ....absolutely delicious . Five plus hours later ...last part of said sandwich as bedtime snack just as fresh and so mind blowingly good . I want to know where they find real and tasty tomatoes this time of year ....amazing thick slices throughout . Real tomatoes !!! Two thumbs way up ......and ill be back .Tacos folks seated with had .....also just as spectacular 👍
Website prominently states kitchen open til 1:30am every night. Walked up last night at 12:55am after a long day on the late shift, only to find the chairs turned up on the tables and people waving me away. Dont advertise what you dont provide.
Some lady I didnt even know ask me to dance and my date and I and her and her husband or boyfriend had a wonderful time on the floor and then it was over that was it that was the last song
Great bluegrass & jazz sounds 7 days and friendly people. Beer & wine only+sodas. Most people dont realize they have great down home southern food till 0130 (midnight munchies) and blues brunch on Sunday. New expanded place big bandstand and hardwood dance floor for us patriots and vets too! Added chef for even more variety in foods and 2-3 bands FRI, SAT, SUN. 70 years of doing things right! Started from GI Bill in 1947 with continued family run. Once in a while big name performers pop in to check it out.
Cant go in and not hear a great band - whether it be on a Friday or Saturday Night, or any night of the week. Bring your own voice, strings and things and experience your own Rock n Roll Fantasy during a Tuesday or Wednesday open mic. Say hello to Loraine and introduce yourself to her staff - they will take care of you. Remember, if you got to make a call - take a ride in the last remaining Phone Booth in Northern Virginia...haha. A good time, great food, fine drinks and Triple Chocolate Cake too. Its been 74 years come November. Keep this train rolling.
The live music is great. Cocktails available are from a can. Theres a cover charge to enter.
Great local gathering place. One of the few local pubs that is still around. Home style food, varied menu, reasonably priced and a great atmosphere.
The atmosphere and music are all 5 stars. They have a great music line up and the sound setup is very good. I ordered a hamburger, fried mushrooms, fries and sweet potatoe fries, all no better than 3 stars. Based off that, I wouldnt recommend the food. The drinks, atmosphere and MUSIC are all a solid 5 stars.
Loved the owner, staff, food and the great music!! Would definitely go back.
Small and intimate setting to enjoy live music! The food menu features pub grub and comfort food, and its very good. We love listening to the Blues and find that many local blues artists play here often.
Great food cool music very comfy atmosphere 😎
I am a musician who performed at this restaurant. I have never been treated so poorly by any bar or venue that does live music ever in my entire life. After being told my group would get to perform within an hour of arriving, we ended up having to wait five hours - just to get kicked off stage after six minutes of playing due to “lack of time”. I play music for a living and I have never once been treated like this by any establishment. I would recommend staying far away from this place, as gatekeeping, racism, and inconsiderate behavior seems to be the norm. I will never be setting foot in this restaurant ever again, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone.
Live music every night, nice people enjoying dancing, good food. What’s not to like about this charming place!
Fun dive, sometimes great blues bands. Only beer and limited wine, not licquor, very good service. $10 cover usually. Bar food ok.
6.Ordered from JV Restaurant via Grubhub. Ordered Crab Sliders with Coleslaw with a side of Onion Rings. Driver got to me within a reasonable amount of time and the food was well protected. I was surprised to see only TWO Crab Sliders but there was a ton of Onion Rings and the Coleslaw was pretty good. So five out of five.
Jvs is a wonderful place to see live music. its small so its good to get in there early at happy hour. it is one of the best local bars in the whole area and has been in business for more than 50 years. Ive been stopping in there since 1991. Definitely go here if youre staying at one of the local motels like Motel 6
We were in the area shopping and decided to stop in for a meal due to the ratings on this restaurant. There was music playing which was a nice surprise. The reason for this rating is due to the behavior of the door man. He came to our table three times during the end of our visit asking for $20 for a cover charge. On the first stop to our table, we told him we were just finishing our meal, didn’t have cash and that we were about to head out. At this time, the band was setting up their equipment. The second time he came over, the band started playing and we were waiting on our bill. The service was incredibly slow and it took awhile to get the check however, we did not mind because the waitress was sweet and very busy. On the third visit to our table the doorman just stood there and wouldn’t leave and just stared at us after he made smug expressions demanding $20, watching us sign the receipt. After paying $100+ for a meal and a couple drinks, we were utterly disgusted in his behavior. It is unbecoming to interrupt patrons THREE times demanding money while they are trying to pack up and leave. If people are already in the establishment and a band starts, let them finish eating and leave. I have been to many restaurants with live music and I have never be harassed and treated so poorly over a cover charge. Unfortunately, due to this frustrating experience, we will not be returning. Also, drink prices are not on the menu. We paid $9 for house wine in a plastic glass and $7 for blue moon which seemed steep for a dive bar.
It is a reminder of what Arlington used to be like. A touch blue-collar, military-focused. Laid-back and unpretentious. That is this bar to the tee. Does it serve fancy cocktails? No. Does it feel comfortable? Yes.
Nice place for food and beverages and bands that play good music that makes everyone get up to dance. Everyone is so friendly.
AWESOME HISTORICAL BUSINESS!! All of the food is homemade. Service was excellent!! Entertainment was AWESOME. I visited for the 1st time on a Monday night and it was VERY busy with mainly people over 60 yrs old. They were singing amdnd dancing , it was WONDERFUL to see. I highly recommend this place to everyone. They also have Blues nights as Well as other types of love music. Great place!!
I dont like to leave bad reviews but this time I have no choice because I felt offended by my waitress, she ignored me several times, got my order wrong and gave me attitude on top of that when it was her mistake, I had to go to get her at the bar to get my bill; again she ignored me. I was patient and waited then when she finally looked at me I waived at her to ask for my check and she yelled at me saying I am busy even the guys at the bar commented that she was very rude and that she could have used other choice of words instead. I didnt say anything to her just watched her and I guess she noticed the way the guys looked at her so she just said sorry and gave me my check. I have been there a few times for the Blues jam on Sundays and even a Tuesday night and the other servers were nicer than her so I cant generalized on the service. I go there because the music and organizers are really nice and inviting so you dont want to miss any day for the Blues jam, food is ok nothing outstanding except for the coconut pie so far! I havent try everything on the menu yet so I can comment farther about the food another time but so far this is my personal opinion. I try to get friends and family with me but I am afraid I will get this kind of service again, the friend I took was very upset about this issue and said he would no go back but I will give it another try since I love the Blues jam
I love this place. Live music 7-days a week and a friendly atmosphere. Locals who perform on open mic nights are very good. The ladies are amenable for a dance if the music is right.
Great live music venue with a small dance floor. We were there for just a few hours and didnt get anything to eat so we cant comment on the food, but the folks were friendly and kind to dancers! Thats what mattered on this day. If only I could get a shot of bourbon, not here as they are wine and beer only!
Great Music, Great Food, and Great People. Everyone is pleasant and fun. If you love America and Great Music then dont mis out on the classic, opened in 1947, Gem.
I ate recently by chance, had to come in because it has my initials! Im glad I did. Came here on a Tuesday or Wednesday night, which happens to be open mic night. Had live entertainment with my meal. They had a number of daily specials. I chose a ribeye steak for about $32. It was fantastic. It was huge and delicious, came with baked potato. I would put this steak against any steak form a fancy steakhouse. It was superb, and for $32 also a great deal. I have been to many fine dining restaurants and expensive steakhouses across the US, and Im telling you that was one of THE BEST steaks I have ever had, and in that price range it is impressive. The food here is solid. They have music 7 nights a week. My only constructive criticism is the drink prices a re a little high. I had a beer and it was $8 or 9. No beers on tap. This place has been around since 1947. A real landmark. If I was going to recommend only 1 place in Falls Church Virginia, which has many good restaurants to choose from, this would be THE PLACE. My number one recommendation in the entire city.
A real classic family run restaurant/bar. The meatloaf is excellent comfort food! Monday night is karaoke open mike night and the senior set was all in. Some of them were really good! Everyone was having a blast. Im be back!
I have always found the staff to be very friendly and attentive. The owner is always there and she oversees everything. There is music every evening and some days as well. Since the expansion a couple of years ago it is not correnct to call this place small. It has lots more seating, a much larger bar, and a really big dance floor. Music varies from blues to rock to country with occasional acts that are harder to categorize. When there is a cover charge it is modest. The food? Bar stuff, but pretty good for that category.
Great owner, Live music 7 days, decent food & service, pleasant staff. You come to appreciate live music. The rest is all gravy.
This was my first time here. I had a great time. There was live music for a $10 cover but I had already been there. The food was just like a restaurant, not just bar food - though that is also available. A bit pricey but worth the portions. One of the specials was a 14oz bone in steak for $14.95. The owner was there making sure everyone was comfortable. The staff was polite and attentive. I will go back.
This is the best place in the entire DC area to relax, listen to really talented musicians, hear amazing singers and dance. It is the real deal! The staff are down to earth Americans. They make you feel comfortable if you are on your own, on a date, with your family, having a birthday or with your motorcycle gang. This place has been around since the 1940’s. There is a reason it has been going strong since 1940!!! Best live music, cool staff, chill atmosphere and value for your money every time. Real talent!!! Miss all you guys, Nanette
Top of its genre! Great & eclectic live music. Good food for reasonable prices. Under $20. Good dancing, lots of regulars who are friendly.
Great neighborhood bar and restaurant featuring live music. Committed staff who are lovely and attentive. Fantastic club sandwich.
Great bar/pub eatery. I talked my ol lady in to comin in for the gaming machine/slots. Sure it worked, but what I really come for is the wings.. real good! Beer is a great price and will continue to come back to this lovely dive bar JVs.
Timeless charm without yuppie bastardization! THE classic northern Virginia spot for live music since forever. And the meatloaf alone is worth the trip!
Dont believe the reviews. JVs is a dump. They treat the customers like dogs. They wont even give you a glass of ice water: they make you buy a bottle of water. Shows that should be $5 are now $15 and up. Greedy jerks.
Tons of real American charm! Much respect to the veterans who have served this great country. They offer live music every single day they are open. Sometimes two acts a day. Note: they do not serve liquor. Beer and wine only. 21+ after 8pm.
I went to JVs last night to hear a band. The band was great and so was the venue. I am so sorry I havent been to JVs sooner! It has a lively and down-home atmosphere with great space to hear a band and dance if you want to. The staff are on the ball, quick to deliver and happy.JVs has a great selection of beer, decent wine (if youre a wine snob, look at the beer menu) and the food that came out of the kitchen looked really good. I didnt eat, but the next time I will give their food a try, too.Restrooms are really clean (tells me a lot about a restaurant) and parking not a problem. I cant wait to go back.
Got my food to go-but the environment I saw got it an extra star. There was pretty good live music and dancing - seems like a lot of fun. The staff seemed friendly. The food was only 3 stars though. . It was edible, but not spectacular. The burger was pretty good. The fries were like the frozen kind at the stores and a little under baked. The grilled cheese was the basic standard - white bread and American. It came with stale potato chips.
The food is Like a home cooked meal and well proportioned. The weight staff is kind and friendly. The music is outstanding. There is something happening here every day. Don’t miss out on an adventure add the legendary JV’s.
Friendly service. (Beer and wine, soft drinks only.) Food is great but not low calorie! Dancing Fantastic music by the Dave Chappell band. They play the 4th Thursday of every month. (There is a very reasonable over charge $8). Live music every night! Love it!
Its a little difficult to rate a place like this. Peoples expectations and likes/desires are very personal. Id like to give it 5 stars, because Ive always had a good time. Thats certainly a 5 star affair, especially if you like dive bars like I do. This place has been going for over 70 years, so theyre obviously doing things right. Food is good, and a great value. Its almost like being out of state. Their slogan says it all: Ageless charm without yuppie bastardization. Cant argue with that.
This place is phenomenal! Downtown Band is awesome! We shared the Chili and Cheese over Tater Tots! Great combination! The Raspberry Tart is an explosive combination of Sweet and Tart! If you get the chance, please come here!
Dive bar! But the best I have been in for a very long time. Came open mic....wow! Amazing performances from a older generation that knows how to rock! Place is great for a beer, steak and cheese with some amazing music
I did not eat but enjoyed the live music. Friendly and safe place.
How can you not like a classic, timeless bar and Grill like JV’s? Excellent food great beers and the music is literally some of the best on the East Coast. They have been here coming on 75 years.
Older crowd but the live music is acceptable. I go with people who enjoy dancing and music.
The Wednesday open mikes at JVs are the best in northern Virginia. The hosts are all fine musicians and conduct a fair schedule. The list fills up fast, so arrive well ahead of the starting time. Music is live 7 days a week. The food is really good and priced right. The staff is as friendly and efficient as it gets. The patrons are also friendly and appreciate good music. The atmosphere is pleasant. The sound system is clear and the vocals are audible. The music is never too loud. You can still have conversation and not be drowned by the speakers. JVs is an evening well-spent any night of the week.
The entertainment, Jose Ramirez was phenomenal. The food was wonderfully prepared and very tasty. It was a fun night everyone was warm & friendly just like the owner. I look forward to going there again. I was introduced to JVs by Dr.Nick of WPFW Radio 👋👋👋
My friends and I decided to stop in at JVs last night as they had a live band (The Bad Influence Band) that sounded good. We ended up having delicious wings and beer while listening to some really great live blues/swing music. Lots of dancing. In fact, couldnt help but enjoy watching one lady in particular (petite, short blonde hair, attractive) dancing up a storm, often near our table.Suffice it to say, although somewhat of a dive bar, JVs is one of the best places Ive been to in the NOVA/DC area that offers great live music and a wide variety of tasty wings, burgers & beer! Just a lot of fun. Ill be back.
Love to go here to listen to the live music, Drinking the hard cider and dancing is always a great night out!
Family played music there.Son Micheal, Vernon Santmye, sisters Fledia, Sue, June and daughter of Vernon, Bonnie all great singers. And bar waitress wonderful. Great had by all.
Ageless charm since 1947. The neon sign over the door says it all. Good food, great staff and a great place to hear live music. A gem in the DC area!💙
Music was great. Nice neighborhood feel to the place. Very friendly staff. I got the meatloaf. Huge piece with two sides.
Nice little dive bar. The staff seem pretty friendly. I was told they have live music every night. I noticed they had no draft beer, and they dont have liquor, but they have just enough bottled beer that if youre picky, you should still find something you like.
When JVs expanded their operations a few years back, they completely revamped their menu and now feature some of the best bar food in Northern VA. Pizza is surprisingly good as are the wings and subs. Only downfall are the pretzel rolls used for hamburgers and cheese burgers. Maybe someday they will switch to a nicer brioche or potato roll or at least give customers the choice. Music is outstanding as always. A Sunday afternoon at JVs, live music and a beer, is the best spot in the Metro DC area. Oh yes, and dont miss Cactus Liquors when they are on-stage !!
Looking for a late night bite to eat. I stopped in and had the quesadillas which very very good for a traditional bar fair. Very good beer selection.A local rock/blues band was playing that had a large following of 50-60 year olds. All rockers no suit and ties.
I had the Chicken Tenders and Cheese Sticks last time I was there, fairly straight forward meal, the cheese sticks where nice though nothing special, and the chicken they served me, was perfectly done, nice n juicy, probably the best I have had in months. The shows they have are a wide variety of acts/performers, BE SURE TO SUPPORT THE ONES YOU ENJOY!!! My only complaint is sodas are very expensive for what you get.
Perfect dive bar only draw back is beer and wine only. Live music every night at 730pm with local artist. Very Patriotic and music decor on walls.
Do yourself a BIG favor and visit what, Im sure will agree, is THE GO TO venue for the highest quality live music, warm vibes, and excellent food. I guarantee you will leave a show ELATED and exhausted from the sheer positive energy exuded from all involved. Hard to recommend a particular artist since every one is superb. Im still recovering from my most recent visits featuring Forty Dollar Fine and the Darryl Davis/Patsy Stephens Kissin Cousins show.
Good food, great live music, great wait staff. Had a fabulous time! Small hole in the wall place, but very upbeat and comfortable.
5 stars for the atmosphere and live music. Opened in 1947. 3 stars for the food i had- the steak and cheese sub. Bottled beer only. Very good and friendly service.
Once a year my dad and i come to D.C. for Rolling Thunder on Memorial weekend (from Massachusetts), and after we are done riding there isnt any place we would rather be than at JVs resteraunt! Live music every night, awesome food, and employees that have turned into wonderful friends. Thank you Lorraine!
Attentiveness is terrible. They literally avoid eye contact as they pop in and out of the bar several times to ring up orders and run receipts as you stand and watch. I actually had one look at me from the other side of the bar and give me what almost looked like an eye roll. Thank goodness for the gentleman with the longish dark hair, he was super attentive and friendly. I wish I had gotten his name.
Never disappointed with this place for music!
If you enjoy local olde School, down home musicians from cover style bands as well as original lyrics this is your place. The inner walls are plastered with posters and bios of acts that have visited and performed at this venue (I was a roadie for one of them) Friendly staff, management, Ill certainly be back. Check out Open Mic night!!
Although the band was good, it was a little noisy for me. Could not talk softly. Had to talk loud.
I have moved my rating up to 3 stsr, I see alot of good reviews about the place, I will give this place another shot and see if it changes my opinion about the establishment.
The all girls band were great. Sheatles/wicked jezabel! Played good music. The pulled pork sandwich I ordered was really good.
Love the welcoming atmosphere, staff and food. Came for the Blues jam and received so much more. Got up and danced to top it off. Will return
Fun place...good sound quality of the live band. Very generous sized burget with fresh fixens on the burger along with a toasty bun. Will check out other bands down the line
Great pub food very fair prices best live music in Northern Virginia!
Stay away if you are any kind of ethnic. This place is white white white. Awesome music but when I went ..and it was.several times..,..I felt like an outcast by the patrons. They do not like anyone of color in my experience. Others may have a different opinion.
Great local restaurant and bar, featuring a vibrant local music scene, friendly, helpful staff and many regulars.
We absolutely LOVE JVs!! We are treated like FAMILY & have been from day ONE! Lorraine AND her ENTIRE staff are AMAZING people! The food is FANTASTIC, the atmosphere is AWESOME & the people are GENUINE. On top of that....its an EXTREMLY PATRIOTIC place!! You will ALWAYS end up meeting Veterans &/or 1st Responders. Being a Veteran myself, it makes ME feel so HONORED to have a VERY SPECIAL place (like JVs) to go to that supports ALL of us. And with UNBELIEVABLY talented LIVE musicians 7 days a week....there is something for EVERYONE! When you go to JVs Restaurant, you can go in not knowing a single person & come out having made friends for LIFE!
I love the live music and open micGlad they expanded to a bigger dance floorThe clientele and staff and Loraine makes people feel at home
JVs is an institution. Great live music but limited beer and wine selections dont help. Bottled beer only made it feel a bit out of place for the changing dynamics of the neighborhood but they vehemently oppose change in a changing world.
Just visited JVs last night and after walking in the live Blue Grass music was playing, I found a seat and listened to the music as the waitress took my order for a bacon cheese burger. It was friendly and full of regulars with great music and food.
Staff was friendly/fun/attentive, food was good, many options. Bar food and/or full meals. Enjoyed the music.
Suburban roadhouse, roots music (blues, rock, rockabilly, some country) temple, music every night, bottle beer, good food. It is all about the music in a venue which might hold 50 people.
Amazing music, decent food, great entertainment, supports Merica, fantastic musicians..did i mention the music is friggin great! my ONLY problem is, $6 Miller Lites and up, thats a bit much for my wallet, especially when there is a cover charge..totally harshing my mellow.
Great music. Great food. Real people. And BEER! And pictures of JVs and the Snake Farmers performing are somehow posted under Bethesda Country Club. ?
I lived in the area for 22 years and just recently found this bar/ restaurant, great ambiance, music, the food is really good and the people who works there and regular customers super friendly, highly recommended, love this place if I could give more than 5 stars wil be nice
It is the best place in the Falls Church area .. good atmosphere good food. the people are very friendly and funny .. the best bands of blues, rock etc. Live.
I went in there with family to eat dinner and then I told I couldnt have a table because there was a birthday party scheduled back when I used to go here all the time when I knew Lorraine somebody would have got fired if she would have heard that these days I give up on the place
Neil Young said see the losers in the best bars; meet the winners in the dives.. JVs is a welcome vestige of the American dive. It aint fancy, it aint trendy, it aint a scene. But if you like good live music, a few cold beers and real people (as I do) this is your place.
Small place with great food and music ! Bring your dancing shoes . Friendly staff and people !
Great music, friendly and attentive bartenders, and a nice crowd! This place never disappoints!
Great bartender! Shes working both sides of the bar by herself, but still has great personality, attitude, etc.! That makes all the difference in the world!
Monday nites Open Mic with the incomparable Tom Saputo are a blast! Love JVs.
Bottled beer and wine only with a good selection. The food looked delicious. They have live music every night.
Awesome Music, fun vibes, good times, and great beer and drinks! Definitely an amazing place to listen to music and dance.
We come every First Saturday for Snake Farmers Saturday. Local music that makes you move. Improved menu with great service. Nightly local music.
Great band on night I visited plus friendly atmosphere.
Great live entertainment but dont recommend the food or service. Waited an hour for eggs and French Toast.
Very slow service takes a long time to get a waiter and a cold drink. Dont order hot food as it wont be hot when it arrives at your table.
Good food, usually always good music too. Dancing sometimes. no liquor, only beer, cider, and wine.
Reasonable prices, great live music, cheerful service, ample free parking. I didnt see prices on the beer menu, otherwise 5 stars.
I have traveled all across America as a trucker. This is by far one of my favorite bars. Never change, ever.
They have remolded and the place looks great....good food but best of all is the bands that play there......Kreek Water Band is a great band!!!
I havent been in years when you could still smoke in the small restaurant so it smelled pretty smokey but liked the band.
Great vibe and live music. The people there treat you like family. Awesome place!
Fun place to catch a band and dance💃🏽🕺🏻
Always have been the cleanest restaurant even before the virus.Great food. And they make it your way.Love the dance floor
Great live music. Good dance floor. Make sure to see the 19th Street Band when they play there.
My favorite new place when Im home .Live bands are top notch and owner is very cool
Great place to see local musicians. Food and service was fantastic!
Fun place, friendly people, and good music. Only down side was that they dont have a full bar.
Great food, quality live music. Tonight it was Johnny Rawls, playing behind him Sol Roots and Linwood
Live music 7 nights a week. Good food. Check out the daily specials board. Homemade desserts.
Great food, awesome people and terrific bands. Dancing, music, laughter and character - this place has it all.
Great music. Good food. Gret service in a veteran-friendly bar..and did I mention the great music?
Great bands and dive bar! If you are 40+ you will fit in great here :)
We enjoy the Sunday afternoon Dixieland live music and excellent food. Always friendly wait staff too.
Wait staff was excellent. Music rocked. Tacos and beer were solid. Really liked how friendly the wait staff were.
Saw the Insect Surfers last night. Colonel Josh and the Honky Tonk Heroes opened. Great show.
My favorite beer and bluegrass joint with a meatloaf, taters and green bean dinner sure to satisfy a lumberjacks appetite!
I like the old school live music this place tends to have playing inside when I come. The steak is good too
Live music (very good), good food, pleasant staff. At the corner of Route 50 and Annandale Road. Since 1947. You should try it!
JVS is a small but awesome place!!!!Food is good, waitresses are the best. There are band(s) almost every day.
Owner is a legend in supporting live music. Lorraine and her staff are great people.
Had a blast..good food and great music...very friendly staff...dance floor also!
Very friendly bar/wait staff and food was good. Live music every night.
Great atmosphere; great band/sound!! Staff is always friendly and engaging!
Authentic! Established 1947 and well maintained. They have live music geared for people 50 and up.
Great dive, fun atmosphere, good food. Music was awesome - Little Red & The Renegades.
First time bein here and it was awesome, everyone was very friendly food was great and came out very quick And prices were very reasonable well being goin back again.
Dropped in for a great desert on the way home. Lemon Marange Pie was scrumptious.
Live music every night.Good group of regulars and good food.
Great bands, fun music! If you love to dance, this is the place for you!
Customers tend to be older (50+). A good place for local music.
Great atmosphere (Think Cheers)Good bands and people. Older crowd.
Love this place. Mostly older crowd.
A nice place with live music where you can eat tasty food and meet interesting people.Billy serve beers and wine.
Great local music venue with lots of character and a great staff and crowd. They treat everyone right.
They had good food and live music that I enjoyed thoroughly.
Open Mike was great. Very friendly place. Extensive menu.
We drive over an hour to reach JVs; love the live music.
Great food and beer selection. Very friendly staff and great music.
Love this place on a Sunday afternoon. Good food, great music, and dance floor.
