I cannot believe that these two guys made me feel so bad about being a Mexican. The guy in the entrance was so rude and racist; he wanted me to bring my visa and passport, which are pretty delicate documents. I was planing to have fun, of course I did NOT bring such important documents. Every other country understands foreign IDs are valid documents.

Have been going to this place every now and then for the past 3 years. The same dj plays there every night and is absolutely TERRIBLE, unless you’re into middles school dances (and y’all can see what I’m talking about from the rest of the reviews). More recently, a bouncer grabbed my friend’s arm and pushed her (btw we were not drunk). Random trifling men are also putting their hands on you for the line for the bathroom…need I say more.Just avoid this place at all costs, it’s not at all worth it even if there was no cover fee

Would be cool if they hired a DJ that actually cared about music. Maybe someone younger? The DJ plays music that’s 15 years old but not in a cool nostalgic way. Needs better music - pronto.

If theres one thing the places in Harrisburg have, its the AUDACITY. Sad excuse for a bar with an absolutely terrible dj who looks like hes been doing his set there since he was in his 20s. The people just stand around doing nothing because the music is so bad and they have the nerve to charge a $10 cover?? Never going back here again thats for sure, the only good things are the drinks are cheap (but also cheaply made) and the giant beer pong (which was hogged up by one group that wouldnt rotate with anyone).

Fun outdoor club, no cover charge but they make that up with very high drink prices (small cups too). Music could have been better....unless they were having 90s night.....

What a wonderful place to spend time on a lovely evening! The music is great and the bar is completely open so you an enjoy the weather!The bar staff was amazing, tons of people at the bars and still barely any wait for drinks.There was a cover to get in so make sure you bring some cash to get in.Will definitely be going back again! A++

Great outdoor weekend spot, variety of areas to hang out.

Definitely the coolest bar in town the out door seating is cool fire pits and games all over. Wouldnt think a place like this would be downtown, but its a lively place with a lot going on. I definitely recommend checking it out if you get a chance.

This review is from COVID times in 2020 and 2021. Bar service was much faster than most, drinks were poured properly to the right amounts and choice of music was fair to my liking. Would definitely go again. One of the best young downtown venues.Since then I havent been back in a year or so. The music is average and just play the overplayed top hits. Uses a lot of remixes and usually there are more dudes than women. 4th of July cops tazed and maced people as a riot outside almost occurred.

Person at the front desk (apparently the owner) denied me the entrance. He seems like he discriminate against minorities. Red flag 🚩

If youre on 2nd you have to stop by!One of the few places you can really dance!

I have to give their bouncers a ton of credit for doing their job. I showed up on a random Thursday and it was dead. For whatever reason, my ID wouldn’t scan so they didn’t let me in despite me being well past 21. A lot of place would have waved me in. Their team didn’t. I give them a lot of kudos for following the law over making a few bucks. Hat tip to the staff and management for doing a good job.

Drinks taste like juice.. barley any alcohol in them.

The first two times we went were amazing with great music, but it went down hill from there. Unfortunately there are way too many creeps and they made us really uncomfortable while we were trying to have a good time. The last time we went, the bouncer yelled at us when we brought our international friend who had a non-American ID, and insisted on seeing a passport which no one carries around. He tried to tell us the passport was expired after we made a round trip to grab it, and his attitude was beyond nasty. Xenophobic bouncer. Cover charge was fair for the quality of the club.

Good people here but, music is absolute garbage. Fake DJ. He actually only plays a playlist. Been here enough times to know every night theyre open its nothing new. Come for the people, not the music or fun.

Ive been here a few times and find it difficult to come to a conclusion how I feel about Sawyers. Sawyers has an outdoor dance club kind of vibe. Everyone is dancing and talking and they sometimes have yard games out. The music isnt the best but we can usually make do with it. I have so much fun every time I come here but there are some facts that I just cant overlook. First, just so you know, they do charge a cover of $5 a person. This isnt terrible, but really adds up when youre ubering and paying for drinks too. The bartender was on his phone and looked annoyed when I wanted to order something (the other bartenders are usually fine, but the one I dealt with over the weekend was like this). The drinks are ridiculously expensive. I got a rum and coke, 12oz, that the bartender only put a splash of alcohol in and the rest was ice and coke, and he charged $8. I didnt taste the alcohol and didnt feel buzzed at all. Definitely pregame before coming here. The part that irritates me the most and is unforgivable to me is that they wont give you free water. This is absolutely illegal. They will only give you bottled water that you have to pay for. There was a poor girl next to me at the bar begging for some water because lost her card and she had too much to drink so I ended up buying her a bottle. That is pretty disgusting to me as a business practice. For mainly this reason, Im giving Sawyers 2 stars.

Has potential. The music is rough though. The DJ plays the same old weird pop remixes each weekend. He played the exact songs he played every weekend last year. People were complaining last night. No song requestsBar doesnt offer free water. They make you pay for bottled. Wouldnt get too many drinks here unless you are willing to pay for water. Harder to pace selfCover was $5 on Friday night at 9:30pm

Saturday nights are busy but I love it. Atmosphere is great. The only thing is that they could use some better music. If I wanted to listen to the same exact mainstream music thats on the radio, then I would turn on the radio! At least remix the music or give us some good danceable music.

Okay... This Sawyers scene is obviously the quintessential launch-pad for the H-burg experience. This bar can be just what it is, a melting pot of locals, visitors and establishment dignitaries. A college frat house vibe, not your typical Alpha Betas, boasting a jumping off point when testing the waters of the state Capitol City. Take a mean stride. Be responsible, one stone at a time moves mountains.

Fyi: $5 cover before 10 PM and $10 after. definitely a scam to get in to a mediocre bar. the only aspect of this bar that makes it stand out from the rest in harrisburg is that it has an outdoor space. other than that, the drinks are more expensive than any place across the street and plays even worse music.the dj is absolute trash. they play the exact same playlist every night, every weekend and the music is just bad. they should probably consider opening the position to someone who was born within the age range of their target customer demographic.also, the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting and there’s definitely mold in the women’s bathroom (photo attached).if you’re in harrisburg, you know there’s better bars. if you’re visiting harrisburg, try going to the beach club or any other place on 2nd street instead.

Cool place for downtown - plenty of bars so lines are generally short.

The outside was great. Love the environment. The drink was weak. They short you on mixed drinks.Update: went back last night. The drinks are better. Josh made my Jack & Coke correctly (he wasnt the poor pourer). You should consider this place for your next night out on the town.

I went on a date there with a local Politician. The date could have been better, but thats on the man, not the place. The parking and the entrance are the reason I removed stars. I had to park 2 blocks away, at night, in a city Ive never been to before, in what felt like a pretty shady part of town. I didnt have any problems, but I didnt feel safe walking back and forth to my car. My date lived a block away in a different direction and frequents the place. Getting to and into the bar was the tough part. Once inside, the bar was pretty dead, and the service was excellent. Its a basic bar, quiet that night. Not much else to say about it since I was only there a short time.

The weather has broke!! Great place to hang with friends or partner. Drinks special are decent. Gets pretty crowded. Plus the music is well-rounded for the age range of people. Good fun all around

Awesome bar, young crowd! Most of the crowd showed up around 11pm on Friday night. I give 3 stars because they dont give free water, which is absolutely illegal and ridiculous. They only give bottled water for $2, which is unbelievable for the most popular bar in Harrisburg. This fact alone turns me off to what could be a really fantastic bar.

Its the perfect summer spot! Great Outdoors with good music. Atmosphere is really nice there is a little wait but not more than you would usually wait at bars or clubs. Overall 5 stars!

I went here for my 21st, music was great but the staff wasnt. I went to the bar by the entrance (not in the diner) and of course I didnt know the names of any drinks, so I said have any suggestions? He shook his head and walked off.You also have to pay for water, which sucks. We had to wait about 10 minutes JUST to buy a bottle of water.If you are looking for something that feels like a high-school party, this is the place for you. If you want someplace sophisticated or calm, try a different place.

I come here a lot and they always have the same DJ. It is a nice place but the music is really bad. It’s been years people have been complaining about the DJ and they still don’t do nothing about it. The DJ seems to be stuck in the 2000’s. Nice place, but horribleee music.

Tried to walk in with my boyfriend and my friend. The security guard at the gate told me that I could walk in with my bag, but my boyfriend could not come in with his string bsg. Never been, but if this is how the policy is going to be between men and women, I will not be coming here again, nor will I be recommending this place to anyone else.

The place is nice. But the music is BADDDD! Please play more 2019/2022 music. They were literally playing Sweet Caroline! WE NEED BETTER MUSIC!

I absolutely love the vibe here, but the music throws me off every time (feels like a middle school dance).. Im sure most could say the same considering the fact that most people are just standing around half the time. Ive watched someone try to request the next song & the DJs response was Go to Aroogas if you dont like it We may just have to do that moving forward because weve given sawyers a couple chances and nothing seems to change :(

Fun outside bar. Dancing on the deck, but watch your heels as they will get stuck in the floor boards! Its also VERY crowded and there is not much room to move around.

The Inn place in Harrisburg to be on a Friday or Saturday night now on the other end of the spectrum during the weekdays depending on whether sometimes theyre open on Thursdays great bar great atmosphere outdoor great lights great music and affordable again on on the scale of affordability value for for Value the place is great how would I explain some of the fun large-scale drinking games without getting too deep here theyre pretty special Tuesday and Thursday night the 10 to have an attorney with lots of teams competing for a traditional type of game of beer pong accept using soccer balls and garbage cans pretty fun stop. Everything but youre not there for that high

Its a nice place to dance, the servers are pretty quick, and the drinks are actually pretty good especially for the price. Theyll definitely get you where you want to be after a couple

Had never been here before, but it was packed and a lot of fun. The music was good and the drinks were good. Shots were about $5 which i honeslty dont know if thats a good price. Mostly out door areas, a roof area and a ground level outdoor area

Bartenders are often grumpy. Not their fault though.Managent doesnt seem to want to create a list of beers to show so they need to shout the list of beers every 2 minutes for several hours all weekend when a patron asks.Id be unhappy if I had to do that too. Its not efficient and its a pain for patrons.This issue has existed for several summers now across multiple bartenders.Great place for people watching, always packed.

Usually holidays and weekends can be crowded. But great for the younger drinking crowd, although great places for all drinking ages. Outdoor drinking in the warmer months. Good place to have a lot of fun.

If you like the wild crowd Id say go here. Pretty decent outdoor bar but they never have good music. People do seem to have fun but I could see it better if they changed a few things.

They have a downstairs bar and a rooftop bar. Its outside but in the winter they put up large tents. Sawyers is always packed on Friday and Saturday. The bathrooms are rough but the general atmosphere is a party.

Very unfriendly bouncer who denied my sister visiting from the UK entry because she had her driving license as id and not a passport. Where on their website does it say you need a passport? Apparently her current and valid driving license isn’t acceptable because it’s not American. This is discrimination and extremely unfair. I do not recommend going here if you’re foreign or uninterested in possibly losing your passport.

Could not be more disgusted. I flew 3300 miles from Scotland to see my sister and reunite her with our elder sister after 15 years and subsequently visit my younger sisters (US citizen) favourite club only to have these words said to me upon presenting my British driving licence to the bouncer, at 37 years of age Thats not going to work HERE The fact that I am a British Citizen? I refuse to believe that a woman clearly of legal age would be refused with such aggression based on her origin and the fact that she is not a US citizen. I have enjoyed my visit here and I have experienced discrimination before as a traveller, but to be discriminated against because I am not American?? Unbelievable. I have been more welcomed in third world countries. Sorely disappointed that this has marred my visit and hope that this treatment of tourists does not spread. A blight on an otherwise wonderful city. Shameful.

The music is literally terrible, they play the same thing every single weekend! The same old pop weird remixes. Drinks aren’t really good and a bit expensive, not too many other clubs in the area unfortunately

It is a downtown, fun place to go. Lots of drinks and good things to look at. If you have fun, go there, you will be able to meet a lot of interesting people.

Terrible expirenece. Was having a decent time. Until I had to relive my self. Literally did nothing wrong. When I walked out of bathroom I was violently snatched by a angry security guard and ejected out. So moral of story if you have to go to bathroom or you are a male under 6 ft (cuz they wont pick on anyone bigger then them)do not go here or there is a chance of you being assaulted by a miserable staff member who has nothing better to do with his time.

I mean its a great bar, go there for drama and cute girls dancing. They have fun events and its one of the most popular bars downtown next to firehouse, Burbon and Zembies

This place is EXTREMELY UNFRIENDLY and RACIST to non States citizens. I brought my whole crew ( US AIR FORCE VETERANS) here from PUERTO RICO (a US territory, by the way), and they RUDELY denied entry for not having a State License and wont accept the Puerto Rico ID either. Even they questioned our US MILITARY ID just because we are LATINOS. THIS PLACE IS DISCRIMINATORY! DONT GO HERE IF YOU RESPECT YOURSELF.

OK literally this club has so much potential but Harrisburg needs to do itself a favor and hire an actual DJ and if they can’t they literally could find a remix on YouTube of some popular music and it would be better than anything that this DJ ever plays

It is not a grill,they serve no food. However,I love it here. Theres always a good crowd,a lot of free concerts,and great staff.

If you want some fresh air and a slushie, you have Sawyers. Stand in a crowd of people thats not moving because the same playlist has been played for about 3+ summers that I believe by now shares the same playlist as the other known bars. I grabbed a Long Island from all 5 bars and they ALL tasted different, ESPECIALLY the one directly below the deck, that one was sour. Its very easy to get tired and bored of Sawyers. Better chances are going out of town for a nightlife.

Bartenders charge you for drinks you didnt order, dont offer free water, awful atmosphere. Worst bar Ive ever been too, surprised theyre still opened. Awful customer service.

I had the best time here when they had the Reggie band. Drinks are week though. So if your a drinker other than beer, you will be mad.

Ive never actually been in this place but I live a block away and the god-awful music that they play is so loud that it sounds like it is in my house. I can literally hear every lyric. For this, I do not like it.

The bartenders take forever to get to you on a slow night and would rather talk to the other bartender. Took me 10 mins to get a drink even after flagging the girl down 2 times!

Had the opportunity to play a live show here on their stage recently and everyone seemed very accommodating and the service was superb!

Last night the security personnal did not let my friends in because they did not have the entry visa of this country in their passport, an act that I consider RACIST since they must corroborate that the people who enter the club must be over 21 years and not corroborate their immigration status through the visa in the passport
