I have been a client at M+H Salon for 7 years. I fell in love with the service, ambiance, and most importantly, the incredible work that my hairdresser did cutting and balayage bleaching my hair. M+H literally helped me level up in my career and confidence. Even when my stylist left, I then switched to Libby, who did my hair color before my wedding, which was great! However, I have to leave this review because of the last two times I went to this salon to work with Leah. I wanted to touch up my roots in a honey blonde balayage. Both times I left with jarring lines and patchiness in my hair. The first time it happened, Leah left a literal spot unbleached in the middle of my hair, along with a really jarring blend at the top. I figured it was a fluke. But then when I returned for a second time nearly 9 months later, she once again gave me spotty coloring. I called this out to her, along with some really bad jarring lines in underneath layers of my hair, but Leah just waved it off and said it would fade. It did not - these photos were each taken over a week after the appointment. I had to leave for work, otherwise I would have argued it...instead I just decided to never come back. The cherry on top is that I learned Leah had been adding extra long and thick charges to my sessions - my hair is above my shoulder and I have the thinnest straight hair youve ever seen. It is one thing to have a bad stylist, it is another thing that she sneaks in scummy extra charges, but the last straw is just how dang expensive this place is. I paid over $540 the first mistake and $400 in the second mistake appointment. They really played me for a fool!!Edit: M+H did call me and apologized for the quality of service and the extra long and thick charges (which they did now finally refund me). I was not able to go back for a correction during their window due to work travel obligations at the time, but they offered to give me a deal if I am willing to try coming back. I am not currently in the market (got my hair corrected by another salon), so am unlikely to take this offer but I appreciate the outreach and apology nonetheless from the business - added one star back.
My girlfriend and I recently visited Milk and Honey Spa in Houston, and it was a five-star experience from start to finish! The ambiance was wonderfully tranquil, setting the perfect mood for our relaxation. The staff were incredibly professional and attentive, ensuring we both received exceptional care. Our massages were perfectly tailored to our needs. The attention to detail and the serene environment made it a truly memorable visit. We left feeling completely rejuvenated and pampered. Highly recommend Milk and Honey Spa for a luxurious and soothing retreat!
Let me tell yall this place is PHENOMENAL! from the moment I got there everyone took such good care of me. The two receptionists were so kind, one brought me tea and was very good at explaining every step to me since it was my first time. Jen is the BEST! She did my hydrafacial and dermaplanning. She is so knowledgeable on skin care and extremely personable. I’m so grateful I found this business and will be going back because they really are worth it. You will leave feeling so good:)
My experience wasnt as good as anticipatedI booked 2 massages. One for myself and the other as a birthday surprise for my guy. When I made the appointment I requested a couples massage- they couldn’t accommodate at that time. So I then requested separate sessions with both female masseuses, but was advised there is only one female available the other would have to be a male (a woman named Janice and a gentleman named Oscar would be servicing us). I confirmed the booking with the understanding that I be serviced with the male and he be serviced with the female. When we got there, we filled out the intake form- I finished first so they immediately brought me to the back to begin while he finished up his intake form. I don’t have anything negative to say in regards to the masseuses + their work . I wasn’t completely comfortable since I prefer women instead, but since it was his first service- I took one for the team so he would feel more comfortable with the female. Come to find out afterwards, they assigned us both with male masseuses without my knowledge. To speak bluntly- The appointment was booked with the intention of feeling comfortable and relaxed, but having another man rub him down- he couldn’t enjoy it. He debated leaving mid service. This was completely disappointing. Everyone has a particular comfort level, especially during intimate (new) experiences like this. Milk + Honey really missed the mark with honoring it’s booking specifications and ensuring preferences were met. I don’t think I will be a returning guest in the future.
My boyfriend and I booked a couples massage. Our massage therapists, were amazing!! They listened to our concerns about the areas we felt needed extra focus. They really helped us feel more comfortable and relaxed. This place is definitely a true gem in the area! Thank you!
I always come here for massages/couples massages, but I went to Priscilla for a facial for the first time yesterday. It was perfect!!She did so much in just an hour. It was really comfortable and relaxing. Most importantly, my skin looked and felt really clean and refreshed. I woke up this morning with glowy fresh skin😍
First of all, it’s difficult to write a review about a massage without it sounding a bit off. Over the past 50 years, I have gotten a lot of massages. Whether around town, while traveling for work, and on vacation. I have been to Milk & Honey before for massages. I can honestly say that I recently received the most incredible massage I have ever had. Celeste was amazing. Every movement was intentional and every transition from muscle group to muscle group was seamless. Seventy-five minutes was not enough. You can tell that she really cares about her clients comfort. For a man with very good muscle tone, I’m a wimp and fragile. I cringe at the sound of deep tissue. Celeste combined the signature massage with a bit of light deep tissue. I was so relaxed I didn’t want to get off the table. Thank you for an amazing afternoon of relaxation. I’ll be scheduling again very soon. Cheers Celeste!
Check you receipt before you leave I was charged an extra gratuity. I booked two pedicures arrived on time the service was adequate the ambiance was relaxing. The pedicures was relaxing that technicians were warm and friendly. When it was time to check out and pay for the services the concierge was having trouble and told me she need to start over and she made a mistake. We waited for about 10 minutes and the bill was paid. Upon inspection of the bill she charged an extra $20.00 to the gratuity without my consent. I called and spoke to the manager she stated that the person who checked me out was a model employee and this would be a coaching opportunity. This is reprehensible I am African American ca and this simply seems as though she thought she could pull a fast one on me. She corrected her mistake by adding and extra gratuity to my bill. CHECK YOUR INVOICE before I am sure this is not the first time this has happens.
I went here today for the first time because I’m currently training in Pearland for a few weeks. I saw Chloe for a signature facial today and it was wonderful. This spa is SO cute and you actually get the TRUE spa experience with the robe, slippers, snacks, drinks, a rainfall shower with nice quality shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. This place even has complementary brushes, hair ties, lotion, deodorant, and more to use after your steam shower. Chloe was super fun to talk to and very informative. I will definitely be coming back before my training ends to see her again. I hope they bring milk + honey.to the woodlands/conroe area ! This place gave me exactly what I want my spa experience to be.
We love getting massages and facials here to celebrate special occasions. My spouse fell ill during our last visit, and the manager allowed us to cancel our remaining treatments at no cost. This was very gracious and was indicative of just how professional this establishment is. We look forward to returning in the near future.
Oscar has a client for life. He is the best massage therapist ever! The service here is great, it’s a beautiful space, and it’s very luxurious. My only complaint is that I filled out a survey for a coupon and then they didn’t honor it because I already received a membership discount.
Milk + honey was my preferred spa in Texas when I would frequent Austin on business trips. When they started to expand locations such as this one. I left Texas, but its my only spa I return to when I visit. Talk about 5 star quality customer service from the staff, the pristine and clean condition of the facility and exceptional deep tissue massage from Eric. I dont feel rushed here and enjoy the wonderful amenities this place has to offer.Facials have been on and off, but I do like that they use OSEA.
These five stars are not for the salon. They are all for Sonia Quintanilla with whom I have gotten three facials. Sonia makes this chain spa feel like an intimate small spa. Her kindness and attention to detail are unmatched. Her educational tidbits about taking care of my skin are priceless. I feel heard and well taken care of. Do not book with anyone other than Sonia. As far as this chain salon, it has the typical chain issues. Picking an esthetician or massage therapist is guess work and they do not have any information about who will work with you. I even emailed asking for at least bios or profiles but the email said they dont do that. The Kirby location while clean could use some maintenance. The bathroom door is all scratched up by the handle the and celiing in some areas stained. Like most chains the cost is higher than needs to be and they pressure employees to sell us products and the membership. The only reason I will put up with this type of chain is 100% to have Sonia take care of me. She is spectacular and milk and honey should be grateful they have her on the tea.
I had an incredible experience at this Houston salon recommended by a friend for a scissor cut. The location was stunning, the interior design was delightful, and the entire staff was punctual, polite, and professional. The stylist teams positive energy was evident, creating a rare and enjoyable salon atmosphere. After the wash and cut, my hair looked amazing – it was almost unbelievable. Ive never had such a fantastic haircut before. Even my daughter loved her hair wash, haircut, and style, which instantly boosted her confidence as she couldnt stop admiring herself in the mirror.
I wasnt going to publicly post a review, but the way my feedback was handled was poor. I booked an appointment online which had to be rescheduled the day of due to staff being out. Because of this, they upgraded my 45m massage to 60m which was very appreciated. However, when I arrived, the front desk had no idea what I was talking about. I had to show them the email as proof which was a little off-putting. I was taken to the back and the salon was beautiful, clean, and quiet. I met with my therapist and explained my problem areas. I also chose the CBD oil which I was told was an extra fee, but not exactly how much ($40... for oil?). Anyway, during my massage I repeatedly had to ask for deeper pressure and when it was over, I almost laughed because my problem areas werent even focused on. I left feeling the same tension I walked in with. Literally, the worst massage Ive ever gotten. At check out, I was honest and said the massage wasnt great. He was sympathetic but also not much he could do. Then, I once again before checking out, I had to clarify the 60m was an upgrade due to scheduling conflicts with the salon because it wasnt passed along. As I said before, I wasnt going to publicly post my negative feedback without giving them a chance to make it up. I received an email for a feedback survey which I honestly filled out. I received a phone call within 24 hours but basically was told we will put these recommendations in your profile for the next time and we will give this feedback to our staff. Thanks - but also, this was the most expensive massage Ive had - and the worst, as I still have the same tension/discomfort. Recs in my profile or not, I will not be back.
I had a consultation with a stylist at Milk and Honey. I asked for a bleach and tone and toldher that I wanted to have blonde hair. She said she could do it but that it will not be the brightest blonde in one session. I was aware of that. I made sure to emphasize that I wasnt interested in getting highlights or balayages. I wanted one color overall. I was okay with starting out as a dark blonde then eventually moving on to platinum after three or four sessions. She acknowledged that and told me she could do it. I booked my appointment with her for next month. On May 18th, I showed up to the salon at 7:45 am. The stylist told me that it will take all day to bleach my hair. I was asked to sign a form that disclosed that Milk and Honey wasnt responsible for any damages to my hair. Before she began, the stylist asked to see an inspiration picture. My first thought was, why do you need an inspo pic for a bleach and tone? but nonetheless, I showed her a picture (the girl in the pic had grown out roots). Then she started foiling my hair. I asked her why. She said it was for dimension. I started panicking internally. But she reassured me that it will look like the picture.Of course it didnt. As soon as the towel came off, I wanted to scream. My hair was nothing like the picture. I thought I was clear during my consultation. Dont ask for a picture if youre just gonna go do your own thing.I shouldve prefaced by saying, I had red/copper box dye hair. So when I saw her painting my red strands brown, it made no sense to me. But she said it was to add the same dimension that appeared in the inspo pic. Mind you there was no dimension.I paid then sat in my car for 30 mins sobbing. When I came home, I realized that my front hair strands did not process long enough because they were still orange from my previous hair dye. And my hair had green undertones. So not only did I not get what I asked for, but even the highlights were done terribly!I went to a different salon the next day and the stylist told me to come back in July since the highlights were so fresh to avoid damage. He asked me why my hair had a green hue. He said that a bleach and tone was not possible for me anymore since I have highlights. And that the stylist who did them put me in reverse to my blonde journey (overall bleach).I contacted Milk and Honey. They refused to refund me of course.Since I signed that form prior to getting my hair done, I agreed to any accidents. Of course I was thinking more along the line of chemically fried hair. Not this mess. That wasnt even my biggest issue. I dont know why I got highlights when I never asked for them.I spoke to the managers Chelsea and Alex, and they sent me their thoughts and prayers. Chelsea was very understanding but Alex was so intolerable. She was very patronizing. She said she could retrieve the cameras from my consultation to hear my conversation with the stylist and what I asked for. I ended my conversation with her on the phone shortly after that comment.Anywho, the managers felt it would be unfair to refund me since the stylist makes a commission off the total paid. Shouldnt the business foot the bill for that kind of mistake? Regardless, it was hard to sympathize about the stylists commission when I didnt get what I paid for. But I did offer to cover her commission if they could just refund me. They said no.I paid $825 for highlights that I didnt want. I like to think my anger is justified. Imagine spending that much on something you didnt want and it not even turning out good. Now I have to spend more money to fix your mistake. If you didnt know how to do it, you should have said so. Thats the most confusing part for me. Just say no, I wouldve gone else where. But you decided to take on a new client just to make money. While I have to go find another stylists. Way to go!I didnt disclose the stylists name to be courteous of her. Now if only the managers showed the same courtesy towards me.
I came here recently and the place doesn’t feel relaxing at all. The facility itself doesn’t make sense, the women’s locker room is covered by a curtain. I walked into the men’s locker room because of it. Everything is over priced, if I was paying for actual luxury then it’d be a different story. But they are upping their prices for what? Everything about this spa feels very corporate. They only want to sell products and packages. Not actual good services. Would not recommend to anyone if you care about the service you are receiving. I came in and I heard a baby crying, which took away from my relaxing experience. Not sure what kind of a spa allows their employees to bring babies in but this is supposed to be place to relax not a place to run a daycare.
I came here for a massage. The receptionist didn’t seem that welcoming and didn’t explain the directions clearly for our massage as it was hard to understand. The men’s area was dirty with robes laying on the ground and used slippers on the floor.I had a hard time getting situated. The massage was good though!
I was in a business trip and I was interested in a haircut and tint because I wanted to look good for My meetings. It is a nice and very fancy place with friendly staff. However the hair tint did not cover My grays and I expected more of the hair cut for the price. I considered it expensive with results not superior than any average Beauty room from Latinamerica.
I have to start out by saying that the massage and facial services here are fantastic. Manicure and pedicure services are okay but nothing extraordinary. Their natural vegan polish is extremely soft and will barely last a day on, so I’d recommend getting gel if you’re going to get any kind of nail service done. However, I’m honestly pretty shocked about the quality of the salon services. This is what my bangs look like right now, and this is after I asked that they re-tone my hair before I left so that there was less contrast between the very jarring and stark orange and blue that is still in my hair. The assistant manager of the salon said my hair looked “so good” in an overly enthusiastic way that felt like she was trying to convince me that I wasn’t seeing what I was seeing. I have never once in my life been sent out of a salon, much less one that is priced and marketed as an upscale salon, with color this bad.My haircut was fine, and after spending an entire day at the salon I really had no desire to be there for any longer, but this is usually the kind of color customers come to a salon to correct — not something they leave with. I left the salon five days ago, and tried to convince myself that I might have been overreacting, or that maybe it wasn’t so bad. After taking some time to calm down and think about this as fairly as I possibly can considering that this is on my head, it’s pretty embarrassing. I’ll have to spend a considerable amount of money (again) to correct this color.I’m used to being able to go to a salon and pretty much trust that they’ll be able to color my hair appropriately and reasonably. I asked for my hair to be as cool toned as possible as I went lighter again, and while I know that’s always a big ask for redder undertones, this is not where I expected to go. I wasn’t expecting to leave with grey hair, and was plenty aware that there would still be warmth in my hair, but I was not expecting such harsh and contrasting brassiness and literal blue.I am perfectly aware that mistakes happen, and sometimes even well-versed stylists make errors and don’t always do their very best work. Everybody has bad days! It’s just hair and it isn’t the end of the world. However, it would have meant a lot if they had just owned up to the fact that yes, hair shouldn’t come out like that after having been professionally dyed, that it (hopefully) wasn’t up to their standards, and that it wasn’t representative of their best work. I don’t mind paying for stylists’ time, hard work, experience, and expertise (I was quoted $415 for my cut and color) but I expect to end up with services that reflect what I’ve paid. For reference, the other pictures are the other most recent dye job I had done on my hair (mushroom brown from blonde), and what it had faded & grown out into when I entered the salon. I was not coming in with warm dye. I just want to share my experience because had I known that this was an acceptable standard of service for them, I would have gotten my services done elsewhere. None of the photos has a filter, and they are captured in natural light.
If you value your time whatsoever, do not bother visiting this spa. The people who work here are utterly disrespectful and have no business working customer service.Today I scheduled a first-time appointment to get a manicure. Upon arrival, I was sat down and told that my technician would come get me for my treatment. After fifteen minutes of waiting, I approached the front desk to ask what was happening, and I received a snarky remark that she would be coming soon. I asked if there was a problem, and the girl responded in a sassy manner, Is there a problem? At this point the manager came out to speak with me, and told me that my technician was never able to take me and that they were scrambling to find me another. My time is more valuable than waiting for these liars. When I told them I wanted to cancel my appointment, they offered me a fifteen percent off discount for my next visit... as if I ever planned to return. The people who work here are are rude and snarky, and I feel that they were especially disrespectful towards me because I was not a young client they would expect to share my opinion online... well here I am sharing my experience. Do not schedule here.
I make a appointments online for me and my friend to get the signature massage here and i got the email that’s they will confirm my appointments but they didn’t sent anything after that keep me thinking that’s my appointments are complete or notAnyway we go to the appointment time and get the massage I suggest everyone to go before appointment time to find the parking spot and walk to the storeThe front desk are friendly and bring me to the women changing room which is big they have the shower steam inside but no private changing room so i have to do quick before someone are coming then i walk to the waiting area which is nice and calm then will get you to the massage roomthe therapist asking for the area that i like and i say my upper body and handsHe started with my back for like 20-30 mins and it’s was good for light to medium massage until he go down to lower body and do light pressure on my feet for the whole session left!I don’t know what to say but i don’t think getting massages here are worth the money at all.Me and my friend are thinking the same way this is not worth our time and money.I give them 2 stars because of the environment and amenities
Jess (Jessica) was awesome & super friendly!I just moved to Houston and really wanted to find a place and a stylist that felt comfortable& I definitely got that at Milk & Honey thanks to Jess. The rest of the staff was super friendly as well. Their refreshments and snacks area/waiting area is super clean. A great experience overall that will keep me coming back.
Libby is the best blonde specialist I could have asked for! Her foliage was a dream come true. I don’t like to get my color done more than ~every 6 months, and she works her magic to keep your natural root color with quality grow out time! She also happens to be one of the kindest souls who absolutely puts love into every client’s hair which makes for the highest quality service you could want. Thank you, Libby! 🥰
I visited for my partner’s birthday and had a horrible experience. Masseur continued to inappropriately touch me and trying to expose me several times. I made many adjustments thinking it was accidental before completely getting grossed out. After reporting the masseur to management they only offered me to come back and try it again. Again! Horrible! Experience!
I have always had a good experience. Today, I had a massage with Nicky and she was amazing! Listen to the areas that needed attention. One of the best massages I have ever had!!
I had a great experience with Libby! I got a foilyage and could not recommend her more! I have received so many compliments on my hair and feel so confident. Libby guided my though the entire process and made a huge change so comfortable. She is everything you want in a hairstylist- has attention to detail, takes the time that is needed, and will recommend what looks best on you. If you are looking for someone you can trust, Libby is your girl!
I had the most incredible experience at Milk + Honey Spa today! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. Kelsie, my stylist, went above and beyond to ensure my visit was nothing short of amazing.Firstly, the shampoo and conditioning treatment was so relaxing that I could have easily drifted off to sleep in the bowl. Kelsies gentle touch and attention to detail with my natural curls were truly commendable. She understood my hair needs perfectly.I opted for the two-strand twist, and let me tell you, I am absolutely in love with the results! Kelsie worked her magic and left me feeling confident and beautiful. Its rare to find someone who not only understands natural hair but also knows how to style it flawlessly.I am beyond thrilled to have found a stylist I can trust with my natural hair. I left Milk + Honey Spa feeling like a million bucks and already counting down the days until my next visit. Thank you, Kelsie, and the entire team at Milk and Honey Spa, for an unforgettable experience! Five stars doesnt even begin to cover it!
This place is horrible! My wife’s first experience was not pleasant her cut and color was done wrong! Do they only hire inexperienced people?! She gave them a second chance and her experience was even worst than the first! 5 hrs there and she came back looking the same as when she went in. She had the worst experience. Never will she go again. They charged over $300 and still had the nerve to ask for a tip! The audacity of these people!!!!!
I was at milk+ honey yesterday for a blow-dry, it was the worst bow dry I ever had in Houston. The provider was clearly unexperienced and kept burning my scalp with the heat. as soon as I walked outside the blow-dry effect disappeared and my hair curled back again!! it wasnt done properly and I had to redo it at home for an !event.. completely disappointed
I had a Reiki massage with Elizabeth and she was phenomenal! She spent so much time with me and it was obvious she truly had my best interest at heart. She is all about healing and releasing negative energy. She has a true gift🙏I was so happy to see that the spa started offering different types of massages; including Reiki. I will be back to see Elizabeth soon.
After driving in from out of town, the salon turned me and my infant away (she was in a compact stroller sleeping) because of a “no child policy” that was not made clear when I booked my appointment. The salon was snobby and insensitive. I will never go back.
I have been trusting Libby with my hair since 2020! She has saved my locks time and time again (from regular glossing treatments to a highlight/balayage to treat a permanent dye job gone wrong from a previous stylist - eek!) and I literally will not go anywhere else. I mean it! She is incredibly talented with color and knows exactly what will look good! I come into my appointments with inspiration pictures and she nails it every time! Libby is THE gal to see!
Do NOT go to milk + honey in Houston if you’re a blonde. I just moved here from Chicago and they’ve ruined my hair. You can clearly see when my last two touch-ups occurred because the color is totally not blended and uneven. I’ve reached out twice to have this corrected and am still waiting to hear back from someone. *This is the 2nd time this has happened. Maybe my mistake for coming back… but I won’t be returning. Thousands of dollars down the drain.
Very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The massage therapist, Tiffany did an excellent job. She asked about my preferences, and adapted her technique as needed. She was very professional and skilled at her job. My nail tech Jasmine was also great. She made me feel comfortable and did a great job with my pedicure which still looks almost perfect 2 weeks later.
Spent this afternoon getting a signature spa package - gift from my husband (bought in the spring.)All the technicians and services are very sweet, but as another reviewer commented, the vegan nail options are very very soft. I got in my car and multiple nails are already smudged... (Its been literally 15 mins)Moreover, would recommend AGAINST ever buying gift certificates from milk and honey. they increased their prices sometime in the summer and will subsequently charge the difference - be ready to have your gift recipients pay over $50+ to use your gift (NOT including tip). 🙄When you book your appointment, they will tell you the certificate covers everything and the credit card is just a hold for the appointment - lies.Do not be fooled!!!Very disappointed and instantly took away from the relaxation.
I recently had my hair cut with the stylist Libby and it was one of the best haircuts Ive ever had. Shes super precise and careful. She ensures that your cut is perfect and Libbys attention to detail is superb. She took extra care of me and I felt extremely happy with my haircut. I highly recommend Libby at Milk + Honey. Shes honestly the best Ive had.
I go in for a hydra facial once a quarter. Tutti is AMAZING. A true professional on how she makes me feel comfortable and answers all my questions. I highly recommend her.
Amazing experience with Ruth for mani/pedi. She is very detailed oriented and doesn’t skip steps. Loved my nails and I will be looking forwards seeing her again.
This is for anyone that wants to work for this spa! I almost had a job here very unprofessional place just stick you in a room with product you never worked with dont know where the tools are for waxing. They just put you in a room And I might add I was rushed to get a massage therapist to work on. They told me to be there by 9:45. I was there at 9:35 practical was at 10 they called me back at 10. Stick me in the room. Tell me I need to go get the girl in the lobby. ( No time to set up) Then I found out later the lady badmouth me and said that I wasnt confident in waxing! I was confident. I was not confident not knowing the products I was working with or where the tools were. There should be a manager or someone licensed to observe the practical. Been doing this since 2012 was shocked the way this establishment does practicals and interviews.
I always look forward to my mail appointments here. It’s quiet, customer service is top tier & their attention to detail goes a long way with me. I never feel rushed, so it’s a true restful experience.
My experience at milk + honey was exceptionally poor.I was scheduled for a 60 minute deep tissue massage and when I arrived there was extremely loud construction occurring at the spa. If planned, I was definitely not notified - who would want to get a $160 massage with power tools on the other side of the wall. What actually bothered me is that it was so loud there that I misheard my name when a provider called out a name very similar to mine and then after ~10 minutes when I realized I was getting the wrong service they were incredibly rude to me. So rude and awkward that honestly months later I felt compelled to seek out and write this review. The facilities are nice, which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1, but honestly the employees are rude and the service was mediocre. In a city this size there are a lot of options and I think we can all do better for the price. Would not recommend.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting milk + honey, and let me tell you, it was an experience worth raving about! From the moment I stepped foot into the spa, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly put me at ease. The service at milk + honey was truly top-notch. The staff was not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but they were also incredibly friendly and attentive. They took the time to listen to my needs and preferences, ensuring that my experience was tailored to exactly what I was looking for.The treatments I received were absolutely heavenly. Whether it was a massage, facial, or a luxurious body treatment, each service was performed with utmost care and precision. I left milk + honey feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and absolutely pampered. One thing that stood out to me during my visit was the attention to detail. The spa itself was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated, creating a serene and tranquil environment. Every little detail, from the comfortable robes to the soothing music, was carefully thought out to enhance the overall experience.I must also mention the products used at milk + honey. They were of the highest quality and left my skin feeling absolutely amazing. The team at milk + honey clearly takes pride in selecting the best products for their clients.Overall, my visit to milk + honey was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of their excellent service, respectful staff, and attention to detail created an unforgettable spa experience. I cannot recommend milk + honey enough to anyone in need of some pampering and relaxation.Treat yourself and pay them a visit - you wont be disappointed!
My experience was challenging from the start. I called the 800# to book my couples massage and facial for a SATURDAY appointment at 6:45 PM for 60 minute massages and facials. When I went Saturday for my appointment I was told it was on Sunday instead. I didn’t make it a big deal, so we went on Sunday. I was a bit underwhelmed at the locker room and the overall facility. I thought it would be much bigger and much more luxury, especially because of the cost. Our facials and massages were decent, but we have had better. The issue that made our experience even more unenjoyable was when we went to check out we were charged for 90 minute massages instead of 60 minutes as I requested for my SATURDAY booking which was an additional $120. Was disappointing overall because this was my first time visiting this place and for them to get the date and services wrong which resulted in extra money out of my pocket was upsetting. We will not be returning.
First timer at this spa, and by far the best experience Ive had compared to the spas back home In Corpus Christi. Andrew knew how to work his hands and was the best massage Ive had in a very long time, I also cant forget to mention the exceptional customer service. I will be making a stop here next time Im in the area.
This was hands down the best massage I’ve ever received in my life. Oscar is amazing and his hands are gifted. He massages the exact area you request to the point your body starts to feel like silk. This was my first and will not be the last time; completely blown away. I will definitely be back ☺️
I had such a great experience that I was inspired to actually leave a review. My gf and I had our first couples massage yesterday. We both agreed they were the best massages we had ever gotten. My masseuse was Elizabeth, hers Paulo. Excellent therapists!Yes, its pretty expensive, but we have zero regrets
I love this spa so much! Generally when I visit, I do deep tissue with Bill, he is ABSOLUTELY phenomenal!! I adore him and he is the MASTER of deep tissue massage! The staff is always so accommodating and friendly each time I visit. Highly recommend this place and will forever come back here! If you like to have a male masseuse for your massages, ask for Bill, you WILL NOT be disappointed 🙂
Manahil did a fabulous job doing my prp for hair loss and BBL treatment. She is amiable and humorous which makes the whole experience better. I will be returning to her for maintenance treatments in the future.
Terribly disappointing. The reception staff and management was so rude. I arrived ten minutes late as there was a crazy rain blocking most streets but was told there was a 15 minutes grace period. Instead I was told that the remaining of my massage would be delivered. Despite this, they still took about ten minutes to pick me up from the lounge cutting my time even more. The massage was nice but the room was terribly noisy. When I checked out, I was told that I would need to pay a price differential since pricing had changed since I had received my gift card, despite the gift card had no expiration date. I would really recommend for anyone to try another spa, the houstonian has similar pricing but much much better staff. This is just such poor customer service.
Jacky is an amazing stylist and I am so happy to have found her!! If you are looking for someone that is a perfectionist with your hair, Jacky is the best! She doesn’t take short cuts and is very detail oriented. I wanted a simple cut with layers and she made sure everything was precise and exactly how I wanted it. I also had her recently color my grays. I have very thick hair and she made sure to go through and get every piece. Jacky is amazing!!
Very nice and elegant place with great amenities such as a private shower, steam bath, refreshments, and snacks, but the massage was only okay and not worth the money.
FABULOUS haircut & style with Victoria!!!Will become a regular customer. Also great staff at reception and on phone - very helpful
I love love love milk + honey. My friends and I were doing a monthly spa afternoon and had been hopping around town trying out different places. When we found milk + honey and there is no need to go anywhere else. I love everything about this place (or almost everything). Free parking and convenient location is great. The staff is professional yet friendly. The interior is clean and well kept. The locker room is just big enough and Ive never had to wait for a shower. They have all the amenities youd want from hair dryer, showers, little items you might have forgotten etc... Someone is always tidying and cleaning the locker rooms. I wish the waiting area / relaxation space was more spacious and secluded and less waiting room. The massages I have had, especially by Nia, have been AMAZING! I am absolutely in love with Nia and her ability to know how to do a massage. She is a master! I wish that COVID would go away so I could go back to my monthly subscription!I had a monthly membership which gave me a discount for my massages. COVID has messed that up but Ill be back there soon.Milk + Honey is truly a gem in the city of Houston!
Went to Milk + Honey for the first time last week and got a facial (thats usually my test run service when Im trying a new spa). The ambiance and level of service provided were definitely worth 5 stars. I highly recommend asking for Christy. She was AMAZING!!!
Scheduled a massage for my mom, sister and I. Everyone was very friendly and kind. Facility was clean and relaxing. I’m giving it 3 stars because the quality of the massage was not good. My sister and mom had a similar experience and we all came to the conclusion that they all needed more experience and training. Even though the prices are good, I rather spend a little extra to get a good quality massage.
I recently visited a spa renowned for its quality and ambiance, expecting a peaceful retreat. My experiences with Chloe, an exceptional aesthetician, and a particularly kind nail technician were outstanding, each earning five stars for their attentive and professional service. However, my interaction with the spas manager, A***, and a technician, F***a, fell disappointingly short of expectations, meriting only two stars. After an engaging session with Chloe, which unintentionally extended beyond the allotted time without any indication from the spa that this was an issue, I was abruptly informed by F***a that my subsequent appointment was already 20 minutes late. Confused by her tone, I sought clarification and expressed my willingness to reschedule if necessary, attempting to navigate the situation with understanding and flexibility.F***as response, however, was curt, suggesting that while we could proceed, any change would incur a fee. This interaction felt rushed and carried an undertone of aggression, prompting me to question the necessity of her initial remark. Despite my efforts to communicate calmly and find a resolution, F***as demeanor remained unchanged, leading me to request assistance from the manager.A***s intervention, rather than offering a resolution, seemed to dismiss the issue as a simple miscommunication, overlooking F***as unwarranted rudeness. I was lectured about the overrun appointment as if I bore the responsibility for the spas scheduling, an approach that was both unjust and far from the serene experience I sought. The suggestion to continue my appointment with F***a was untenable given the discomfort her behavior had caused.Despite this, I attempted to resolve the situation amicably, indicating a willingness to reschedule to maintain the peace. A*** continued to lecture me as I prepared to leave, which only added to the disappointment. However, when I returned to reschedule, the staff were accommodating and displayed the professionalism I had originally expected, thankfully without imposing a rescheduling fee. This account is not meant to disparage but to highlight the importance of effective communication and empathy in customer service, especially in settings designed for relaxation and wellbeing. My attempts to communicate and resolve the situation reflect a desire for understanding and professionalism that was unfortunately not reciprocated by F***a and A*** during this visit. In sharing my experience, its important to express that, despite the high regard in which Ive held this spa, the recent interactions with F***a and manager A*** have profoundly impacted my comfort and perception of the establishment. The thought of engaging with or receiving services from these individuals again is deeply unsettling, to the point of causing distress. This sentiment is disheartening, particularly as this spa was a place I previously treasured for its tranquility and exceptional service. I sincerely hope that future visits will not involve encounters like this, as I wish to preserve the sense of peace and well-being that initially drew me to this spa.I hope that M&H will continue to contribute to an environment where all clients feel valued, respected, and above all, comfortable.
I have been getting my hair done by Sage for the past few years now. She does the perfect balayage that grows out so naturally. I receive compliments on it all the time. I live in Hawaii now and still come back to Sage because I dont trust anyone else with my hair! My friends have also started going to her for all their hair needs now. 10/10 recommend!
Such a great place! Definitely have to book in advance though because they get booked up pretty quickly. The facilities are clean and neat and everyone I interacted with was super professional and nice. The robes are so comfy! I was late and they totally accommodated me which I greatly appreciated. There was even checking in and asking for consent along the way in my treatments which I think is amazing and should be the industry standard. Shout out to my short queen Jenny for the great massage! I had to take off a star for the truly bad facial I received. The products she put on my face didnt make sense and I did not leave with the fresh faced glow I am accustomed to leaving with. The extractions were extremely painful to a degree I have never experienced and I literally had to ask her to stop. I have had facials before so I know the job can be done much more effectively. There was even enough product residue left on my face that I had to wash my face off afterwards. Also watch out for the parking situation because I didnt know I was gonna have to pay $15 for parking.
Had a facial with Chloe and it was nothing short of amazing! My skin has never looked this good, I can’t wait to come back!
I had my first facial with Milk and Honey River Oaks location in Houston Texas and it was wonderful! I received the Deluxe facial with Aurion and she was incredible! If you get a change to chose your esthetician I highly recommend her! Check in process was easy, appointment started on time, and staff were very professional. Added bonus, I was able to make this appointment same day!
Overall I dont think the service given is equivalent to the price. I got a haircut that cost me $80 which I really think I can do it myself. The haircut didn’t even last for more than 10 minutes. I usually would give stylist the freedom to cut my hair to make it as nice as they are able to. But I felt they just followed my only request of wanting a cut to get rid of split ends. Also did the keratin express treatment for $100 and I dont think the overall results are the best. Even though they keep mentioning that it would not be as great at its $300, but if $100 isnt great, what would make $300 any better? I think its a rip off. This is my first hair salon experience since I came to the states. I’m quite disappointed with the service and quality compared to my home country.Anyways, I do think the people there are pretty nice in general, but service can definitely improve.
While visiting in town, I decided to check this place out. I booked a Milk and Honey Pedicure along with a Buff and Go Manicure. Jass did an amazing job on my services. The vibe here is very chic yet relaxing. Everyone at the reception was very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely book again.
Had my first visit to Milk & Honey tonight for a haircut with Darcy and had the absolute best experience! She was so sweet and is amazing at her job. She went above and beyond to make my haircut even better than I was wanting! I’ve never left a haircut so happy (thank you!!!!) I will def back for future haircuts with Darcy, she is the best. ◡̈
I had a severe pain in my left shoulder blade after getting a massage here. It still comes back after months.
Libby is hands down one of the best hairstylists I have ever had the pleasure of going to. I have been a loyal client of hers for years, and she never fails to impress me with her skills. She is also so caring, thoughtful and patient.Whether its a simple haircut, stunning highlights, or even complex color corrections, Libbys talent truly shines. She has an incredible eye for detail and always takes the time to understand exactly what Im looking for.She has a soft warmth to her that when combined with Milk and Honeys environment, you truly feel like warm and welcomed. I always feel relaxed and comfortable during my appointments, knowing that Im in good hands. What I truly appreciate about Libby is her dedication and care for your hair. She won’t guide you in the wrong direction.I cant recommend Libby enough!
The Spa is in a nice area off of Kirby, when we entered the receptionists greeted us and showed us inside where we put our items in lockers and got dressed. The robes and slides are extremely comfortable!Bill did my deep tissue massage and it was PERFECT! The rooms are clean and smell good. The ambiance is very relaxing and everyone is professional. After the massage I enjoyed the steam room, it does exactly what you want it to.The waiting room has feminine products, hair ties, fruit water etc. Very thoughtful.
Will definitely be coming back ! was concerned since it was my first time at milk+honey, but it quickly dissipated once I walked in & I was warmly greeted by the front desk and my esthetician carrie who honestly made me feel comfortable and not at all nervous . for anyone looking to do leg waxes I highly recommend they leave you super smooth and not at all patchy :) && their lounge is extra comfortable and relaxing ( ◜‿◝ )♡
Such a gem! I’ve used Libby and Lydia and they are both fabulous stylists! … and just when I thought the service couldn’t get any better, today the manager ran across the street to get me a Diet Coke while I was sitting with my color. Great experience and results every time - without fail.
I had my first experience at Milk and Honey River Oaks location and it was spectacular!I booked the extended massage and it was exactly what I needed to round out my week. Highly recommend that you request Oscar as your massage therapist.Pro tip: If you are a first timer, give yourself around 30 minutes before your appointment start time. This way you have time to get your bearings and settle in.
Arrived at my appointment on time. The parking garage was a short walking distance to the spa. Had a smooth check-in c/o Sarah. She gave me a brief tour and prepped a ginger turmeric tea for me to enjoy while I waited in the lounge. Had a Signature massage c/o Dulce. It was one of the most relaxing and most thorough Swedish massage sessions I have ever had. A Signature facial followed c/o Arianne and she was very gentle esp during extractions. The rooms were clean and tidy. So was their steam room. Sarah made sure I was taken cared of, she was pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Wonderful customer service. Would love to return with some girlfriends for sure.
Kenya gave me one of the best sports massage I have ever had, I definitely recommend her!!
I went in for a sports massage, Oscar did an amazing job. I went in with back pain from doing 4-6 classes a week (spin) and left with 0 pain after the massage. Definitely recommend him. Also come early, if you come a bit late, your massage is cut short. It ends on time.
My experience with this location of Milk and Honey was really surprising. The whole thing was a bit disappointing, disrespectful, and uncalled for. More training is needed perhaps?
I’ve been coming here for years. Had some good massages, had some not so good ones. But Jude is by far the best! He’s wonderful for deep tissue and sports massage. He has gotten out knots I didn’t even know I had, such an amazing massage therapist!
Love coming here for the signature massages! It is such a relaxing and easy experience that any time I am in Houston, I try to stop by. Carolyn is amazing and knows exactly how to deal with my lower back problems and knots. It is always a fantastic experience and I will definitely be back. Thanks, Milk + Honey!
Absolutely amazing massage experience at Milk and Honey! The therapist Celeste was incredibly skilled and attentive to my needs. I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated after the session. Highly recommend! Will definitely be back!
I had an amazing 75 min signature facial with MAYA. She was so kind, friendly and just helped me have a very relaxing time. She didn’t push me to buy any products, she was so calming and explained what she was doing throughout the facial. I’m very happy that I got Maya as my esthetician today and I’ll continue to book services with her.
Libby has been my hair stylist for 2 years now and she is amazing! Every 6-8 weeks I come in to get my roots done and freshened up, as she is a blonde specialist. She’s thoughtful, always goes over pricing first and is great both with coloring and cutting. Definitely recommend her and trust her with my hair!
I just had my first appointment at milk and honey with Oksana for a curly hair cut. I usually never write reviews however I loved every single second oksana spent on my hair. I went in looking for consultation on how to deal with my curly hair and when I saw she took her time, I mean she took her time with every strand of hair!! She’s so knowledgeable and I’m obsessed with milk and honey now
Maya is the absolute best for facials. My face has never looked better and she also gives you an amazing massage. She explains everything during the facial if you want her to and she educates you about your skin type and products that will help with your concerns. She’s not a pushy to buy and products. She’s very sweet and genuinely wants to give you a good experience and good skin. Loved my experience!
I was supposed to have an appointment today for haircut/highlight and massage. They called me 4 hours before my appointment to tell me it was canceled!!!Its supposed to be my first time in M&H (for my birthday), and I have an important dinner tomorrow where I was hoping my hair was properly done. They didnt even offer me anything special to make it up for messing up my day!!!I understand the hair stylist was sick but I cant believe that no body was there to fill in for her!! Since I didnt ask for any specific stylist. The place seems fancy, I was very excited about this experience, but now I am really disappointed with the customer service especially given that it is very expensive! I dont recommend it to anyone!
For the price I thought it was just an average massage place. Honestly there is nothing really special about this. I could go to the local massage place around the corner where I live and they do just as good a job
I would have to say- many other better salons in the area. My stylist was great but the front desk, the manager, they are not aware of how to provide good customer service. One would expect at this price point to have a stellar experience. Lots of attitude, no communication when the stylist was running 40 minutes behind schedule. First it was only 20 minutes behind and then another 20 minutes while waiting. One can only assuming they squeezed someone else in because it’s not like this is a doctors office where an emergency can require additional wait times. Manager Alex- an idiot.
Have had such positive experiences here. Libby is so great with blondes! She is super meticulous with her placement and listens well when it comes to color and tone. I’ve also noticed a big improvement in my hair health since seeing her. Highly recommend Libby for cut and color!
I made a reservation for both my wife and mother-in-law for one of their signature spa treatments, and it was a great experience! Their staff is nice and courteous, and the waiting area and lounge area were both clean and relaxing. Overall the massages were great, it is a bit on the pricier side but you definitely get what you pay for!I will say the reservation process was a bit difficult - first off this is also a salon so the phone line was constantly busy and I had to leave a voicemail to get them to call me back. I was also on the phone for about 30 min with the concierge trying to figure out a good time for two separate reservations. Hopefully next time will be smoother since they have our info saved, we’ll be back one day!
Friendly staff, we felt very welcomed. I scheduled a 90-minute massage. I recommend requesting Eric; he is very professional and was keen on understanding my needs. He applied several techniques and identified my tension areas. The front desk staff also noticed we were celebrating a birthday and made sure to acknowledge/accommodate us. Thank you very much! See you soon.
I arrived 15 mins late, was told it will be cut off from the entire time, I understood and agreedThen they made me wait another 20 mins, and guess what, 35 minutes were deducted from a 90 minute facial. Didn’t do most of the facial and charged the entire amount.
Good massage, but the amenities have fallen in quality in the last several times I’ve been here. The showers were broken and there was a construction worker taking suspiciously long in the only working toilet. I could justify the cost of this place for the amenities, but without that, this place just has expert masseuses.
I dont think junk mail flyers have ever worked on us before this one. It showed up at exactly the right time when we were trying to figure out what to do to celebrate valentines day and had talked about getting a massage. We booked a couples signature massage, and I maybe regret that we only got the 45 minute signature massage. I wish wed gotten a longer massage; 45 minutes goes by really fast.Overall, the place was very welcoming, the staff were very friendly, and they were very forward in volunteering information. I felt like I knew exactly where everything was, how to best enjoy their facilities, and get the most out of my massage without having to ask any silly questions. The employees here were not elitist at all like some of the other spas weve visited. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Avoid this spa.I booked a massage for my birthday. I’ve been here many times. The receptionist called me 20 minutes before my session to say my therapist would not be able to make it in and we’d need to reschedule. This was the third time (in 2022) that milk and honey called with short notice like this to reschedule. When I mentioned this the manager then called me back to reschedule but said my massage therapist was in the ER after a car accident. After I told the manager that three cancellations in one year due to accidents was interesting she was able to reschedule me same day. When I checked in for my appointment I inquired about my original therapist. I was told she was in a car accident four days prior and she was not in fact in the ER. I’m glad she was ok but the truth would have been nice.To top this wonderful experience off, my new massage therapist began my appointment by commenting on my body and offering consultation services on overall health and wellness since Covid was “hard on everyone”. I promptly asked her to stop and ended the massage given such a lack of respect and common decency. The manager talked to me as I was leaving and said she’d call later in the week to rectify the situation. It’s been 5 weeks and I’m still waiting on that call.Milk & Honey- thank you for ruining my birthday massage and making me feel absolutely horrendous.I would not recommend this establishment to anyone.
It pains me to write this review but after coming to this M+H location for many visits and spending many hard earned dollars here, I think it’s finally time.I have had 18 services (I just checked my history) at this M+H location since December 2021– 16 have been massages (four 75-minute, 12 60-minute) and two have been facials.I am not a facial person, they’re not really my thing (however one was fine, one was BAD) so this review will be for mainly the massage visits.~85% of the massage therapists I have been paired with randomly at M&H have been very good. If I am able to request the ones I have really enjoyed, I will request them (pending their availability. There are a handful that are absolutely exceptional. I don’t want to give away my favorites but they are all men; I assume this is a function of me preferring firm pressure). From my experience (and looking back at my massage history at M+H), roughly 15% of my services have been notably lackluster (pressure too light, they wrap up early/start late, and YES, I speak up). As I mentioned above, I have been paired with some OUTSTANDING LMTs there and request them when I can. While services are (for the vast majority of my visits has been) great, M+H saddens me personally, primarily, over and over, in the atmosphere once you get past the lounge: there have been at least four times (including today) where I am placed in a massage room that is (as I’ve been told) “next to the nail room” — AKA very loud, all I hear is giggling and muffled “yeeeaaaah! Haha!!”s throughout the entire duration of my massage. I have (kindly) mentioned this explicitly to the front desk every time it’s been my experience, but it keeps happening to me. (Maybe it’s a cue for myself?) Today was made exceptionally worse when the wifi went down, so there was not even music to semi-overcome the middle school sleepover girl chat in the “nail room”. 75 minutes of straight “haha, yeaaaah!”.$180 (before tip) is a lot of money to pay for a great massage, only to be ruined by a (historically recurring) problem, but also one that is very easily solved. This may be comical to readers but it was also my birthday today, so the chatter and gossip of the ”nail room” was even less amusing for me today. Relaxing bday massage!!Another thing about the “atmosphere”, though this didn’t matter today: the sound system (aka glorified boom box) for each room is not only controlled by wifi (as I learned today) but it is also NOT controllable by room (volume, music, for ALL rooms is ALL controlled at the front desk— so if it’s too loud for you but not for the person next door, that’s too bad for you! …this has never made sense to me). Personalized relaxation is what all spas tout… again: a very obvious flaw with a very easy solution. When my M&H experiences are great, they’re GREAT, but when they’re bad, I remind myself that there are many other places out there that may have 10% less amenities (I don’t use the steam shower or eat the organic almonds at M&H anyway…) but cost 30% less (and don’t raise prices more than once per year) and seemingly care way more that you personally have a great experience. (M&H is very close to my house, which is the only reason i have continued to forgive them.)Want to end this by saying there are indeed many many wonderful LMTs at M&H. They are outstanding. The front desk staff is also lovely and does what they can to make things right as well (but a 10% discount only goes so far to entice someone to come back for more after they voice their concerns again and again). But neither of these parties are responsible for whether you are getting what you pay for in terms of a complete 360’ relaxation experience — just keep that in mind.
My boss was very sweet to bring the staff here, but I honestly feel bad she paid almost 200 for a manicure and pedicure that started peeling the very next day. This place seems more like its running with the intent to be a very high end establishment due to the area it inhabits, but theyre products made my fingers peel as well as my friends. Dont get me wrong, the staff was very kind, not including the staff at the register.Youre better off going to a local place for 30 bucks with better quality.
HORRIBLE! I made a extension apt for 1:00. I got there at 12:45. They told me I still had a 1:00 apt but i had to wait 45 min! Because their website said their stylist could do a consult but couldn’t. I told them to cancel it. Called for a manager the lady proceeded to argue with me keep telling me “ yes ma’m you do have a apt for 1.” But then would say you just have to wait 45 min. I planned my day accordingly to this. I work as a receptionist in a salon myself NEVER would i make my clients wait like this for a mishap on the salon’s end. I NEED A MANAGER TO CALL ME! Do not go here!! Took no drive to find a solution.
Waited for more than a half an hour for my hair appointment and then left. Extremely rude and unprofessional.
It was my first time here & this place is AMAZING! I had a one step color & blowout with MiMi and she was so personable. The products all smell AMAZING even the color!!She was super knowledgeable too and it was nice to chat. Also the heated towels at the shampoo bowl with eucalyptus/lavender were a really nice touch. Best salon experience I’ve had in a really long time!
My husband bought me a gift certificate for Christmas and so far I have really enjoyed the services. I had a facial and deep tissue massage and will probably schedule one more massage there. Both of the service providers were well trained and pleasant to interact with. I left feeling great. However. During the facial I removed my jewelry and was so relaxed afterwards I left it in the pocket of my robe. I understand this was my mistake, but the responsiveness on whether the jewelry was found has been pretty poor. I have had trouble getting anyone on the phone and had to leave a message w the corporate office. When I went back into the salon, I was reassured that the jewelry would be found as they check the robes prior to washing them. But unfortunately I have heard nothing back. Once I finish my gift certificate, I don’t think I will return. The services are good, but I am just too upset about losing my jewelry.
Update (1 Star): Unfortunately just because you scheduled a massage and paid in advance does not mean that they will give you or your gift recipient a massage. They proved to be unapologetic, even when they cancelled my wife’s massage 2 hours before the scheduled time. They just let us know that we should be happy that they will not charge us a cancellation/reschedule fee for a massage they cancelled.Original (4 Stars): Outstanding first time massage! The experience was amazing and rejuvenating! Had to remove a star due to the fact that the locker room experience is a bit confusing and it took the staff a while (20+ minutes) to assist me whenever I got locked out of my locker. Also, I got a call from Milk and Honey without a voicemail during my drive back home...I ended up driving back to the Milk and Honey location since I couldnt call them back directly. Someone from corporate ended up telling me they accidentally called me for no reason.
Ive been a client at Milk + Honey for more than a year and am consistently impressed with their service, professionalism and attention to detail. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel the calm and serene atmosphere that the spa exudes. The staff is extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, and they are always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that their clients have an unforgettable experience (special shoutout to Abigail, Ally and Hope). Alisa Baker, PA-C is the BEST! The treatments offered at the spa are of the highest quality, using only the best products and techniques, and the results speak for themselves.
Massages and facials were wonderful. The place to sit for pedicures is a little unsafe in my opinion.
It was .y first visit and I liked the experience. It was a deep Tissue massage day and I got so relaxed that almost fell asleep. Relaxation is possible! Check them out.
This was my first experience with this business:I shared that I was on Accutane multiple times on my intake forms. I get back to the room and tell her about my skin and she tells me I can’t come in for a facial. She said the front desk ladies “don’t really send them (intake forms) over to the aestheticians.”(please note: the staff was incredibly kind the entire time, they handled the situation as best as someone could )I’m really disappointed because I drove almost 45 minutes to this appointment, filled out the forms ahead of time as instructed, all just to have my time wasted. I wholeheartedly understand if I cannot be on Accutane and receive a facial here, in fact I appreciate the concern for the integrity of my skin, but somewhere in the intake process or on their website it should specifically outline their policies to avoid this type of thing from happening. Their prices are already steep, so I’d expect more preparedness from this company to avoid wasting someone’s time.Just be mindful when booking here because if you have very important information on your intake forms more than likely it will be over-looked. And, if you don’t mention it before the appointment, something very serious could happen resulting in doing more harm than good.
Before my appt, I had this idea that Milk an Honey was IT. I received a gift certificate for a full massage and a manicure. I saw the price and thought, jeez. Thats expensive and must be worth it? Nah. Ive had better massages and a way better manicure in the past for cheaper. I dont mind paying, but for these prices, I expected way more. The massage was cut 10 min early. I dont know if the masseuse didnt think I would notice, but I did. I didnt complain tho, because well, whats the point in forcing someone to go back in a massage you after the fact?Next was the manicure. Nothing fancy, just a manicure. I could have done that manicure at home in less time and done a better job. I dont know why a simple manicure took OVER AN HOUR and to boot, the choices were limited and it it all chipped off within an hour of leaving.Im sure there are better options out there.I will say though, front staff was amazing. Very kind and on the ball.
Ive always have had top level service with one issue years ago but all of the staff is so courteous. Its definitely pricey but worth it.
I just have a truly wonderful experience with milk+honey in my trip to Houston. Everyone there is so sweet so caring. AND THANK YOU YARMARI FOR DONE THE INCREDIBLE NAILS WORK FOR ME!!! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. You are the best. Thanks for such the patience💜
The esthetician here so severely injured my eye while waxing my eyebrows that after two days, there is still skin missing from my eyelid with swelling (see picture). I sent a picture to the salon, only for them to call me and tell me they didn’t see anything in the picture. Please don’t go near people’s faces if you’re not trained to wax safely, work on your customer service and don’t tell your loyal customer that they’re making things up after causing severe damage.
After moving from Oregon to Texas, I was so relieved I found Kimber at Milk & Honey Spa to do a full highlight. 1st impression: Beautiful spa and Kimber was so personable and friendly which made me SO much more excited to work with her. When rescheduling my appointment, the receptionist made an error and scheduled it for 30mins vs 5hours. Due to this receptionist error, they had to reschedule me for NEXT YEAR. The receptionist apologized and ensured the price will stay the same since the error was on their side, considering my hair is going to have WAY more grow out. Although i knew waiting till next year was going to be awfully inconvenient, I agreed to wait because Kimbers work is absolutely outstanding and thought she was worth the wait so I can ensure it is done the first time. THEN i get a call a few days ago stating her prices basically DOUBLED. Jumped from around $350 to $650.The price difference does not bother me, but the principle does. The reviews on here are deceiving. This salons inconsistencies and poor customer service truly shows how unorganized and un-trustworthy of a business they truly are.10/10 do not recommend, save yourself the headache.
My experience here was wonderful! Beautiful interiors, knowledgeable staff and great products. My masseuse, Skyler, gave me the best deep tissue massage Ive had in a very long time. Prior to my massage I brought up the fact that I had back issues and she listened to my concerns and made me feel comfortable. I also received a facial, manicure, and pedicure. Amanda and Connie were both fantastic and today my skin and nails couldnt look better! Ill definitely be back.
I love this salon. It has every you need, but I usually come here for styling and waxing services. The staff is super friendly and the whole experience at Milk + Honey is so relaxing. I always enjoy my time here and wish I could return more often. They have a rewards system and I always prebook to get more points and to make sure my stylist is available. I would recommend to all. It’s a little extra cost but definitely worth it.
A bit pricey! But no complaints on the service rendered. I had a facial with extractions, full body massage, and pedicure with nail polish. Schedule early to avoid the crowd in the afternoon. It was organized and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. I left around 3 pm and the lounge, and lockers were packed.
I was referred to Milk + Honey after my sister had a really good experience here. I thought I would give it a try after a stressful week and had a great experience myself! Everyone I came in contact with was so kind and welcoming. Although the locker room and lounge area were closed due to the corona virus they still gave me a tour so that I could see where everything was and the spa is immaculate. Courtney was the one who gave me a massage. She was so kind, used the perfect amount of pressure and was very professional. I will be back to this location soon. I was very impressed.
Ayanna and Celeste did my massage and facial. I felt like i was floating out of the salon. Everything was perfect can’t wait to come back. Thank you for everything Celeste and Ayanna!
My therapist Nikki was great!! She was kind, professional and knowledgeable in her kraft. She was detailed and applied just the right amount of pressure with my Swedish massage. Facility was luxurious & clean. The staff members were all professional. It was an awesome experience.
I cannot explain how well the place was kept, it was emasculate. The therapist are very knowledgeable in what they are doing . My scapular pain of 3 months is gone gone now . Thanks to them
This was my first time here-- I had an excellent experience. I had Janine for my pre-natal massage-- it was sooo much better than I expected it to go and she was so sweet and the massage was awesome. I had Tanya for for facial and it was awesome- it included extractions and another mini massage and my face looked and felt great and she was really sweet as well. The lounge is spacious and clean and relaxing- over all 5 stars!
Update: immediately after my massage I was contacted by someone from the spa and they were very apologetic gave me a full 90 min massage to compensate. I appreciate the quick response and willingness to remedy the situation. My massage was supposed to be 90 mins. I received a call last week asking to change it to a 75 minute massage to maximize the availability of the therapists. I made it clear that I would be fine scheduling it for a different time that worked with my schedule, but I wanted to have the full 90 minute massage, as it was a gift for Mother’s Day. I arrived 20 minutes early to ensure I had time to check in, and I still wasn’t called back until shortly after 730, which was when my massage was supposed to start. So, it probably didn’t actually start until around 7:40 PM. Then, my massage was definitely over at 8:44 PM. So, even though I insisted on getting my full-time, I only received a 75 minute massage and they charged me for the full 90 mins until I said something. The massage itself was fantastic, the ladies at the front were wonderful and very nice when I brought this up to them. But, every time I’ve had a service here it feels like I am called a few days before to change it to better convenience the spa. It does not seem like they put their customers first. Additionally, the locker area is very small and it was uncomfortable to even stand in there, much less change in that area because it was so crowded.
I really liked this place but the last two times I came for highlights, they left too much root exposed. This past time they left half an inch of root! They told me it was done “strategically to maintain the integrity of your hair” even though I specifically asked her to please color to the root. Now here I am just a month later and I already need new highlights. I can usually go like three months. And I have to find a new salon because I can’t afford to get my highlights done every month with the way they do highlights.
Very clean and professional Spa. I had my PRP session done with Manahil and she made my experience less painful and easy. I highly recommend this place and I recommend Manahil as the nurse for any procedure! I will be back!
The entire experience was amazing - massage, facial and mani/pedi. Definitely will be returning
It was my first time here and I got a pedicure with Content, and she was amazing! I felt so relaxed leaving! The front desk staff were super welcoming and kind. The staff overall are all professional, and I’m excited to book a prenatal massage in the near future! Thank you again!
Maya did an awesome job for signature facial and recommended the right products I needed. Thank you!
Had my massage with Carolyn today. She was great and understood the assignment. I explained to her the problems I was having and she was of great help. She also provided me with stretches to help my neck. The ladies in the front who checked me in were friendly and seemed as though they loved working there, which is good and says a lot about the business. I hate that I did not get the women who walked me in the back but she was lovely and made me feel welcomed. I will be making me another appointment.
I’ve been getting massages here for years and have always enjoyed my experience. Today was a disappointment. When I entered the lounge area, I was surprised to find a crew of maintenance men ripping open the ceiling to work on the A/C. Instead of relaxing in the quiet area before our service, we all had constant construction noise. You could even hear drilling and hammering in the massage room during the service. I do credit the manager for coming to me to apologize after but I think the right thing would have been to tell customers in advance and give them the opportunity to reschedule for a day when the A/C is not being replaced.
I came in after a long week of problems and built up stress from work and pain in my legs that kept me up at night. The place was absolutely wonderful & clean. The ambience and atmosphere was everything I needed. My massage was amazing and the pain in my legs is gone. I wish I remembered my therapist he was great and would definitely recommend him.I absolutely loved the locker room. I plan to visit again and hope to learn more about the products in the shower my skin has never felt more smooth. Thank you!
I really enjoy the massages at milk and honey my massage therapist Eric really takes his time, he is so professional and courteous. He listens and complies to my request for more or less pressure when massaging. My most recent visit this evening was a 75 minute massage completely ruined by loud annoying instrumental music which did not help me relax or get into my massage at all. I asked Eric to reduce the volume, unfortunately he had no control to do so. Hopefully M&H can do something about that before my next visit in September. Id like to enjoy the whole experience.
First of all, I love how early this place open.I was there this morning for a massage with Shannon. The massage was great. Very good communication between the therapist and I, she really helped me with my concerns and resolved the problem.I had been to milk and honey a couple of times for facial and massage services. The place is quite, bright, and beautiful. My experience has been great so far.
I have never been disappointed and always leave feeling great and relaxed. Their massage therapists are top notch and I recently had an amazing facial with Tanya at the River Oaks location. I especially like that they have their own all natural products and a curated line of skin care. Everything smells amazing, too! This is my go to place for relaxation and spa services. I love when my husband gets me a gift certificate here.
I got a 75-minute signature massage with Celeste and a Lux pedicure with Janna. Celeste was an excellent masseuse. She hit all of the areas we discussed and worked out a lot of the tightness in my upper back. She was friendly and respectful. It was the best massage I’ve had in a long time. And the pedicure was lovely. Janna let me know that their lotions and scrubs are all natural products and the polish they use is 13-free. I got the blood orange scrub and it smelled delightful. Janna was meticulous and my toenails look great! Highly recommend this place!
Wow!!! This was amazing!!! My first ever hydra facial… my face feels super clean and moisturized. Veronica is the best- she walked me through each step and what to expect. Her facial massage is out of the world fabulous.Linda checked me in and was so sweet and energetic showing me around. The spa was beautiful and clean. I cannot wait to book again!!
Absolutely AMAZING!!! I will 100% be going back and telling friends to visit. The staff was wonderful they never made me feel uncomfortable. Now I am on the thicker side so the fact that I was completely comfortable in the robes and slippers they provided is a big plus for me. Cant wait to go again!
Review Update* Cherilyn (Concierge Service Manager) took some time to discuss the debacle that took place. She was extremely understanding that this turn of events would have been extremely frustrating for anyone to go through and could not apologize enough. At the end of the day they are working through some obstacles with implementing a new system, and after our discussion I am confident they will have some additional measures in place to avoid this type of experience from happening to myself and future patrons. Hats off to Cherilyn and her concierge team!1 star is generous, if 0 stars was an option this is exactly what Milk & Honey deserves. I have sympathy for company/employees when they are implementing a new processing system, because issues are inevitable. However after 6 phone calls and multiple changes to a reservation, you would think everything would be ironed out. Well a week later the spa day has arrived, and much to my surprise nothing was handled correctly. For anyone trying to surprise a significant other with a spa day and pay for it in advance, don’t waste your time here. Absolutely terrible service, and the whole process with having to call into a concierge call center and being the 17th, 23rd, 31st person in the queue gets real old when they can not seem to figure out scheduling a surprise visit within their own system. Let’s not forget, not following through with emails for intake forms, or verifying the appropriate appointment details. On the bright side, I was informed that the actual massage was extremely enjoyable and relaxing, so depending on how Milk & Honey chooses to handle this review, I would reconsider adjusting the rating to better reflect a score that Milk & Honey strives for.
This is was a gift from my son for a 75 minute massage. The bookings were all done by him. All I had to do is show up to this beautiful beautiful spa. They offer a number of services from spa, hair, and more. I love the locker area. It has bathrooms, lockers and showers. There is also a quiet waiting room with drinks and snacks, while you wait for your massage. My massage was AMAZING!!!! I believe her name is Carolyn, I think, but she worked out all my tight muscles and massages my head. She even went over key areas where the most tension was. The location is perfect. You are in a strip with a parking garage, retail shops and eating spots. Thank you for a wonderful experience!! I highly recommend this spa.
4.5 stars for the experience but I’d say my skin didn’t feel completely different when i walked out, skin products wise. They have a very relaxing ambiance, snacks, and a steaming shower. I highly recommend Janna for mani/pedi & Janene for body massage. I’ve had the most enjoyable services by them and they are so nice and considerate. Especially for my first body massage, Janene made me feel very comfortable and communicated throughout the entire thing, her calming voice is a plus. BUT be careful with your belongings, they can easily be stolen. I overheard someone needing to open their locker so the employee got a pair of scissors and opened it easily, regardless of having a code lock or not, it’s easily opened with a sharp object.
Ive been going to see Krystal at milk + honey for over 3 years now for cut, color, keratin treatments and products. She is INCREDIBLE! Ive been to other top salons in Houston, Dallas, DC and she is absolutely the best by far. The first 5-10 minutes of every appointment I ever have with her starts off with her spending time asking me what Im looking for and wanting, visuals on how much I think to cut, pictures of different hair colors Im thinking of trying EVEN if Im getting my usual haircut or trim. She is honest and knows what would look good, I fully trust her opinion and she is a very talented stylist. She has the best personality, genuinely listens and I always leave her chair feeling glamorous!
I have been going to Milk and Honey, both this location and the one in downtown Austin, for nearly a decade. This was my first (and last) experience at the hair salon and M&H in general. I loved my treatment and Layla did a great job. But at checkout, they added $60 for three ounces of extra color. In my 30+ years of getting highlights, I have never been charged for extra color.I spoke with the manager who gave some rambling explanation that boiled down the fact that because my stylist put like 10 lowlights in my hair and a few additional foils in the back, I was being charged extra. There was a tub of color left over on the bench, but Im being charged for that? AND, it was never communicated to me that there would be an upcharge for the lowlights. The manager refused to reverse the charge, and instead offered me a hair mask for my next visit. Unfortunately, I will never be back.Had she looked at my file she would have seen the THOUSANDS of dollars I have spent there over the years, and had the situation been made right, probably would have continued to do so. A great example of how poor management can damage your business. There are too many places in Houston to ever go back there again.
A friend and I came here for massages for my birthday. This place came highly recommended by a coworker. Im still wondering why they so highly recommended it. Ive gone many places and have had much better massages at a much cheaper price. The ambiance was good, I did enjoy that. Therapist was not great. I mentioned to her that I still felt the tension in my shoulders (an area I wanted special attention paid to)and that I was uncomfortable on the table in a particular position. I felt like she wasnt getting to the stress points as I needed/ wanted her to. She simply stated that it would take a couple of days for me to feel the relief! She/ they did not suggest and products to me (but my friend received suggestions and she even received 2 complimentary products). I wont be referring anyone here and I wont be coming back when there are many other places with lower prices and much better massages, to go to.
Ive had massages in several states, and McKenna is the best deep-tissue massage therapist ever!
One of the worst customer service experience! I had to cancel the day of due to being sick. The manager, Chelsea Welsh at River Oaks location asked me to come in regardless, or she would charge me $150 cancellation fee. I obviously wasn’t going to go in being contagious. She was more concerned about her provider getting paid rather than the safety of her employees. A company that charges their customers a cancellation fee for being sick.
Great service from jalyn! She explained the whole process and was very kind and exceptional with her work! She made me comfortable the entire time and I left feeling rejuvenated. Definitely will be back to see her !
I went in for a haircut and ended up booking a facial on the same day! This visit was very special to me, as I chose to donate my hair to a Childrens Hair Loss Foundation thats dear to my heart. The experience couldnt have been any more inviting, relaxing and comfortable. I saw Christy for my facial; she was very knowledgeable and super sweet! I was with Kristi for my haircut and she not only gave the best haircut, but gave me a style that fits my everyday lifestyle! I highly recommend visiting milk + honey; everyone was so welcoming from the moment I walked through the door. Great customer service and worth every penny!
It’s never a bad idea to pamper yourself! I always have the best experience when I go. Such a welcoming environment and each massage is excellent!
This review is long overdue. I went here for a balayage. I showed the stylist pictures of exactly what I wanted. She was sweet but did not do a good job. I asked for shades of red and I left looking like my hair was on fire. It was orange! She never recommended any products even tho I asked her for tips on how to take care of it. I talked to other people who have colored hair and used products for my color to last, but it barely made it to 3 week!! After all that $$$. Its so over priced and over rated! I do not recommend this place.
I got a massage for Christmas and I was excited. I had been to Milk and Honey previously and had a massage. It was good but nothing Earth shattering. This time was different! This was the BEST massage I have ever had and as usual the staff was friendly, the facility was clean and calming, and the staff was super professional.GiGi is new to Milk and Honey and was exceptional (ask for her by name when you schedule). She worked places that were sore but didn’t over do it. I feel like a million bucks and can’t wait to go back!
Received a gift certificate for a massage, facial and mani + pedi for Valentine’s Day. I was able to book online within 2 weeks of receiving the gift certificate. Shannon and Chelsea performed my services (prenatal massage and facial) and they were both fantastic. I loved everything about the services from the heated tables, the robes, linens, products, experience, etc. Mani + Pedi was performed by Ruth, who was also fantastic! When I return to Milk + Honey, I will request them all again.Reasons for 4 stars:My appointment time was changed by 15 minutes less than 24 hours before the start time after I had confirmed my appointment and original start time. Notification was only provided via email (thankfully I saw it in time), but I had other appointments (outside of the spa) booked that afternoon.Based on timeline, my services should have been completed at 1:15 pm (15 minutes later than originally planned per above), but did not conclude until 1:30 pm. Because I had other appointments booked, I found this to be frustrating as I spent the last 30 minutes fretting on whether I would be able to get to my next appointment.Great selection of beverages, but poor selection of snacks (apples and nuts) - having spent four hours there, I expected there to be other options (complimentary or for a fee), but nothing was offered or obviously available. I also don’t recall any mention on their website or confirmation about lack of snacks and feel this should be highlighted for those who are spending hours at the facility. Based on experiences at other spas, I just assumed they would have something to offer.
My deep tissue massage from Tiffany was marvelous. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and knew exactly how to release every muscle that had been bothering me, even the ones we didn’t discuss in intake. Every single thing she did was effective; not a second was wasted. I didn’t give her any direction once the massage began—she just knew exactly what to do. I’ve had persistent issues with these muscles over ~5 years and had many massages and chiropractic appointments to address it, and this was the best treatment I’ve ever received.
Came for my first time and left very impressed. Not only was the deep tissue massage excellent, but the amenities were great. Nothing like taking a hot steam shower mixed with a cold shower to get you going for the day.
Overall I enjoyed my first appointment at milk and honey. There was a bumpy start to my appointment because they updated their booking system and accidentally cancelled my appointment earlier in the day. When I arrived the manager stepped in found a new esthetician available to help at my original service time and she added a complimentary upgrade for the confusion. Their new system however did not show the esthetician that she was now booked at 6p so she did not realize it until 6:25p and apologized over and over again for the confusion. Everyone I encountered during my experience that night was so kind, warm and helpful they really turned my initial experience around.I work in the service industry and I understand how sometimes things are out of our control, so I empathized with them and was just really glad to have my service after all and not have to turn around and head home without a service.During my service, I appreciated how she explained every step and the benefits of each product to me throughout my facial. I enjoyed her play list too. I ended up enjoying my experience and purchased a $1,000 gift card to receive the $250 in voucher credit. I stayed there to book the rest of my services until April. I’m excited to return to this location and hope there’s no booking hiccups.Feedback:Restrooms were not kept up with. There was one restroom with a full waste can and toilet paper on the floor. I would assume the staff would do a lock room walk through before each check in wave. The locker room had towels on the floor from maybe the previous check in wave? Only one sink in the locker room was operating so there was a line to wash our hands.Waiting area was pretty crowded but we all tried our best to spread out and maintain 6ft.I wasn’t aware they had a steam room or shower so next time I’ll prepare to use those amenities and I’ll follow up on my experience. My additional observation is when new systems are put in place milk and honey should provide their teams with an adequate amount of training so that booking issues don’t continue to impact other clients experiences and time.Giving them 4 stars because when they had the opportunity to make it right they did, and I could tell they needed support learning a new system too. Potentially they were understaffed so lock room cleanliness just wasn’t in their bandwidth that night.
My experience was pleasant enough. I had booked a gel manicure with the Lux pedicure over the phone. I had a coupon for an add on treatment. The only option for the nail services was a color but since color was included in both of my treatments I tried to schedule the eye+lip enhancement. The lady that scheduled it wasnt sure if I could do that with the nail services (she was new and it wasnt her fault that I couldnt). The assistant manager came out and told me that those services were only available for a facial, but that she would keep it on my account for when I scheduled a facial. She did tell me that she would add on an extra 15 minute massage to one of my nail services, but that wasnt done. Im not sure if it wasnt communicated to the nail tech or if the nail tech got distracted and forgot. There was no foot massage at all for the pedicure, and hardly any hand massage for the manicure. The lady doing my services seemed very distracted (she was telling me a very sad story about something that recently happened in her family), and I get that shes sad, but she still needs to focus on her job. I also noticed when I got home that all the dead skin wasnt scrubbed off my feet, and there were still some rough patches. Overall, it was mostly relaxing, but I dont know that it was worth the price. And I wouldve liked the extra massage, but I didnt say anything about it at the time, and the technician talking about her family problems was not very relaxing, so I didnt want to hear much more about it.
I have been coming to milk+honey for over a year. Every experience is perfect from start to finish. I was referred here by a friend and I always recommend it to people. It is a high end salon, and gorgeous yet not pretentious at all!Every staff member is so professional. I come for salon service which is the best I have ever had in my life. I have visited the spa as well for massages. AMAZING. I love the reward system. I especially recommend buying gift cards for your loved ones during the holidays they have great packages.
Went to do keratin express 1 week before my wedding, expecting to have it frizz free and smooth for 2-3 month as I was told! After the first wash nothing changed! Very frizzy 2 days before the wedding already!! They ruined my plans and added to my stress!! Regretting the money and wasted time!!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Milk & Honey!! My husband gave me a GC for a massage & facial a couple of years ago and Ive been a regular customer ever since. The rooms always feel very clean and sanitized and all the therapists Ive encountered are very professional and polite. The locker rooms have steam showers available to use after any of the services you receive. Definitely my go-to spot anytime Im treating myself or a friend to some luxurious self-care/self-love.
A very pleasant experience and worth every cent you spend. My son and wife got haircut service from Victoria and she was splendid. Very expert and highly skilled. My wife has very long hair (I mean lllooonggg) and there are very few hair stylists who can handle her hair all by themselves without any assistance. Victoria both managed and styled by wifes hair the way she wanted. And my son already wants to get his next hair done by only her!!The staff is very courteous (I saw them being calm and cooperative to a very rude customer) and helpful.
Worst massage of my life. Technique was inferior, I booked 90 minutes and somehow only did upper body. the therapists didn’t talk to us at all to ask about pressure and when I tried to speak she would just say “okay” but didn’t do anything and didn’t give us any aftercare instructions after. We were also told we need to come in in 2 and 4 days to get the full benefits of my massage. Why am i spending $1500 on massages?Spoke to a manger and she offered me 20% off my next service. What a joke, why would I pay to come back for this Walmart service?
I’ve been getting my hair done by Jazmin for several months now, and she is amazing. She has done a great job on my color and my cuts have been exactly what I want. I recently had a formal look done by her for a wedding and I got compliments on it all night. Also she is very efficient with her work, I’ve never felt as if I’ve been sitting there all day long! Love her!
Expect to pay more than you were expecting – I am new to Houston and Milk + Honey River Oaks was running a promotion, fee cut with any color service. I got a one-step hair color with a toner and a hair-cut. My stylist let me know I was going to be charged for the extra bowl of color and the extra bowl of toner when my hair was half covered, so while she did let me know I didn’t really have another option at this point. I only recently started coloring my hair but other salons haven’t used more than one bowl. In total it came to around $200. A little high but the color and cut were both great and I really liked the stylist. So 8 weeks later I called to schedule just a cut and asked the receptionist to confirm with my stylist if I would be charged their extra $20 for long/ thick hair. This is where things take a turn of the worst. The receptionist straight up refused to ask the stylist. She told me there was no way to know if they would have to charge me the extra $20 until I was there since it was really based on how long the cut took. At this point it wasn’t even about the $20. It’s about a shady practice of luring you in with one price and up-charging you when it’s too late to change your mind (a theme I saw multiple times). Their stylist had already cut and colored my hair and yet she wouldn’t know if I would incur the extra $20 fee for long/ thick hair? That just makes no sense to me. The receptionist offered me 2 options, schedule the appointment and see what the total came to or don’t come in. If you value honest pricing I suggest you look for a different salon.
LOVE the hair salon! So many of the hairstylists here are SO talented. The atmosphere is so great. I love how other staff offer an extra hand for the stylists too. Everyone is so sweet and kind.DARCY is amazing! I have seen her a few times, and the drive and costs are so worth it. Darcy listens to what I want for my hair, and she works her magic. I have enjoyed a few haircuts, and she is the best handling for my natural red hair. Darcy was able to give me a balayage of some blonde/strawberry blonde for the sun-kissed vibe. Darcy is the best, and I love catching up with her. She is so personable. I have confidence in her care and recommend any other stylist, but I personally love Darcy! The reception are really great too. Most artists have an instagram page along with their profile on Milk + Honey. It was so helpful for me to narrow down my personal wants & wishes to Darcy.I also use the parking garage in the little area within Milk + Honey. The area is well lit and I always feel safe going to and from my car there.Overall fresh, supportive, and luxurious experience. Thank you!
I really enjoyed my first spa experience here, which was the partisan. My last spa seemed short which was the cocoon. It was just barely an hour if that. I’ll have to double check to see what the overall time was supposed to be. Overall the aesthetics are nice and it’s peaceful when there aren’t groups of people being loud. Customer service is also pretty good.
Had a wonderful experience here. I highly recommend the facial. My skin feels amazing. Im hoping to return on my next trip. Staff was very helpful, and my esthetician was very knowledgeable.
Ive always had wonderful experiences with Milk + Honey. The customer service is spot on. Facials and massages are top notch quality. My stylist Leah, is one of the best. I may be a bit bias but I do enjoy my time with her and my hair always looks lovely. Thank you!!!!
Amazing prenatal massage. I was a little disappointed I had to change my appointment to the next day but nonetheless. It was my first time there.. I wish I could give more than 5 stars for massages, customer service, ambiance, locker room and lounge - I could have stayed all day. It was beautiful.. I wish I could remember the guy’s name who gave me my massage. I’m going to find the card he gave me and update this review later. But definitely recommend!! There was a car show going on outside the building. Which was pretty loud but it was still okay. I can’t wait to come back after my son is born. 💛Update*** his name was Levi.
I had the loveliest experience at this location today. I highly recommend Celeste as a massage therapist and I thought the woman who helped me at the front desk was warm and friendly. I wish it were closer to where I lived but I will find an excuse to return soon.
My sister found this place when she wanted to do a spa day for her birthday. Honestly I was skeptical especially for the price and we came in with high expectations. When I tell you we are NOT DISAPPOINTED. We had Mani/Pedi and massages and I will be going home to my husband to tell him I need this at least once a month! Yarmari, Marta, Audra and everyone that assisted and tended to us were amazing! This is definitely worth the price! I had never gotten massages before and Audra was very thorough in explaining everything to me. I did want to get up when time was up she really knows what shes doing!
Very disappointing and not worth the money. Other than the girl that checked me in, the rest of the staff was pretty rude. The lounge area is a joke. My only goal was to relax in preparation for my birthday. This did not happen as there were a group of women who were very loud. I could hear them through the music playing in my headphones which gave me a headache. My appt was at 5. I arrived around 4:20 because it was my first time there, and I didn’t know what to expect. My massage did not start until almost 5:30 due to “hiccups with the therapist.”. I (Not sure what that was about). Finally, before starting my massage, I specifically told the therapist I did not want deep tissue because I’ve had that before, and it was very painful (the same thing was said when I booked my appointment). However, the therapist must have only heard deep tissue and ran with it. The massage was very painful, and I cried out in pain, to which the therapist said she was sorry. I thought she would have eased up a bit, but she did not. I purchased a back polish which she forgot to do, and I had to mention it. She did it, but I’m not sure if I received the full experience. At the end, she showed me a bump she had on her finger. (You just had your hands on my body and face. Why would I want to see a bump on your hand? So disgusting). Also, when I checked in, I indicated areas of my body that I did not want touched. These areas were still touched. Why ask me if you’re going to do what you want anyway.,So again very disappointing experience. I was hoping to wake up feeling relaxed, but all I feel is pain like I’ve been in a car accident. Not how I intended to start my birthday.
Jessica is hands down my favourite aesthetician for facials, highly recommend! She’s extremely thorough and helps you improve your skincare routine to get that clear glowy skin. ✨
I’m giving only 3 stars because of how the pre sales process went. I wanted to schedule a facial for my fiancé. I called ahead, requested the desired service and scheduled a time. I was also asked if I wanted to leave the tip ahead. I was charged for the full service plus 20% tip. Upon checking out day of, we were Informed the service was discounted 15% and that I had purchased a gift card. It was very dissatisfying learning that I had overpaid since I unknowingly purchased a gift card. It wasn’t a lot of money and also disappointing knowing I over paid by 15%.
I have been going here for years. They always bombard you with multiple emails, texts, phone calls for you to confirm your appointment. Ok cool. You do it. Then 30 mins before you arrival they call you to tell you your appointment has been canceled. Worst customer service at the Houston location. This has actually happened to me before but at there Austin location but the manager was actually apologetic unlike the person at the front desk who called me and the first thing she said is I dont know if youve heard? Heard what? are you not the one calling to let me know? and then she ended it with well I was going to offer you a discount so now your not because I called you out for being rude and unprofessional? Ok I was never going there for the discount I was going to the spa like I have been many times before. As a long time customer I have never been so disappointed with Milk and Honey. Houston needs to take note from Austin.
So my SIL and I booked the same 60min facial. And while I enjoyed myself while it took place. After my facial I asked my SIL how hers was . And she had a much more luxurious kind of facial with a head massage and shoulder rub and chapstick being applied at the end and whiteheads actually taken out Whereas my lady just massaged my HANDS after the facial (she didn’t remove my whiteheads or rub my shoulders or massage my head)I would expect that after paying so much and driving all the way I would get the same service!Apparently every facial specialist does it differently and it’s just your luck who you get.Disappointed!!
The treatment options were fantasmic. The facility itself is lovely, amenities are clean and really nice. Front desk, an amazing set of ladies -- especially Taylor* (hoping that I remembered her name correctly). My Spa Partisan treatment with Betsy was great. She was super attentive, informative and I really liked the service. Will need to be back for a facial!
I came here 3 weeks ago for a facial. All was good and from the very beginning I disclosed to the therapist that I was pregnant. She even mentioned she would be careful with the products she would use for my skin because of my situation. Before I left that day, i booked a signature massage. To my surprise, when I arrived i was told the massage couldnt happen because I was pregnant, and apparently the facial shouldnt have taken place either because of the pregnancy. i was not informed about this in advance prior to coming here even though my situation was already known from my first visit. Very unprofessional way of handling this situation for a place like this, a whole morning lost for nothing. Extremely disappointed.
Riley is exceptional! I came to her to have a bad highlights fixed and boy did she deliver. She was able to correct my color and break up the chunky, striped bad blonde that made me cringe each time I looked in the mirror. She’s an artist! The way my newly caramel colored locks shine in the light is testament to her skill—I love my hair and I’m so grateful she could not only fix but improve it so expertly!
Libby, is hands down the best stylist there. She listens to what you want and then creates magic with your hair. It has been years since I’ve been able to find someone who truly cuts and styles my hair to how I like it. I’ve finally found my stylist! I highly recommend her and the salon!
Originally I had a massage, manicure and pedicure scheduled with my friends. Unfortunately my masseuse had a health emergency and I couldnt get my massage. However the manager went above and beyond by allowing me to add on anything to my manicure and pedicure and also offered a free facial. She also made sure the day was still special for my friends as well.Even though things didnt work out for the massage, I was very happy with my manicure and pedicure and the excellent customer service. I will definitely be going back.
Update:Went back in for a deep tissue massage after being contacted by Alex. No issues this time around! The massage therapist got most of all my knots out and I feel much better. It was similar to the service I received in my past visits at Milk and Honey____My friend an I came to get prenatal massages before I was getting induced next week. I checked in at the front and there was a line waiting to check out so they said to go ahead to the locker room and someone would come to help me. NO ONE ever came.I grabbed a robe and slippers myself and thankfully I remembered how to use the lockers. When they called to confirm my appointment, I specifically said I wanted to lie on my stomach, it was the main reason I came here. Not only did I get a different therapist than the one I booked the appointment with, I was told they only had one bolster for prenatal massages and someone was already using it. The therapist said she spoke with the new management and he gave me the option of leaving my appointment and coming back at another date (and they would not charge me for their mistake) or getting either a back or foot scrub. My friend, who also had an appointment at the same time was offered the bolster but she declined. Upon check out, they told me that the therapist I booked the appointment with had the flu so thats why I got a different therapist but that I must have also incorrectly made the appointment and did not request her when I booked the appointment online (where you actually have to choose the therapist to book the appointment). I left here more tense than when I came in. Terrible experience all around, especially before being induced.
I HIGHLY recommend booking an appointment with Libby, particularly if you are a blonde!!! She is INCREDIBLE and is ultra passionate about her work. If you want to completely relax and have faith that your color will come out just as you hoped, I couldn’t recommend Libby more.
The online booking process was a little challenging due to some glitches and I went through several calls with the reservations center to finally book my appointment but once I made it into the spa everything was perfect. The front desk was friendly and Celeste was an amazing massage therapist. She listened to my concerns, made me feel comfortable and gave me some great tips.
NO WONDER THEY HAD BAD REVIEWS. I can’t stop crying looking at my hair. I am never coming here again! I was charged extra for two extra bowls of color? Like seriously? My hair is over my chest. And they also did a test strand and I was told that my hair won’t go that light. And to my surprise she made me blonder? I wanted brown and I ended up with blonde shades like seriously? I wanted brown because that’s what suits me and I can’t even go out lime this. I even showed my inspo pic before hand and they saved it. Please save yourself.
I was not at all pleased by the way me and my friend were greeted. We felt so rushed and hurried. Almost like being herded like cattle’s! No one showed us our way to the locker or where the slippers were. I felt so unsettled that I could not even communicate with my massage therapist that I have a very sensitive and weak neck region and he has to be extremely gentle with my neck! It is not his fault that now I have pain in my neck and I do not feel good. If you can’t give your clients the time to settle in for their appointment, then why book them so closely? Not coming back for sure!
I decided to try milk + honey on 02/27/21 for the first time for a simple eyebrow wax after trying many different Ulta locations and always being dissatisfied.Christy was very knowledgable and friendly and I was completely satisfied not only with her but with the entire staff.Everyone here is very professional and friendly and they all practice the proper safety protocols during these COVID-19 times.I went back today (04/03/21) for a second eyebrow wax (yup, 5 weeks later) simply because between that timeframe, the hair didn’t really grow out as much as it would with Ulta so that lets me know the quality at milk + honey is EXCELLENT.I have made this my go to for all services and look forward to trying different services in the nearby future!
The one star is based on my mani+pedi experience. I had booked a signature retreat with facial, massage, mani + pedi. The facial and massage went great but i was not at all satisfied with my mani and pedi. I cant remember the name of the tech but she was short and wore glasses. The entire experience was extremely rushed and she kept getting up in the middle of the service to go clean up and set up other stations. She applied my manicure nail polish while standing up and having me sit at the pedicure station just so it could all be done quicker. With the pedicure she forgot to massage my legs and feet until after applying the nail polish so she did while the polish was drying which of course left out half the foot and toes. For a luxurious spa, not the kind of treatment one would expect especially when paying that much for the services. My nail polish had barely dried and she said i was done which of course ruined it all while i made my way to my car. I was observing the other technicians and could notice a major difference with how they were treating their clients vs. how i was treated with a lot less care.I think when someone is paying to get a service done, they need to be given 100% attention and care which i did not recieve in that experience.
It was my first experience! The place is beautiful and tranquil. The locker room is cozy and also has a steam shower with luxury products. They give you a comfy robe and sandals. Christian is amazing! He provided quality service and took care of my problematic areas and corrected them. I will definitely come back. It’s worth the money!
Short and easy..... I guess.Had a gift card for a while gifted from son, we waited a year for couple massage,i understand COVID played that part. Finally they restarted couples massage, we called to book appointment, asked how much for couple massage, she said $190 for 105 min COUPLES MASSAGE, she wanted a card on file we let her know we have gift card for 230 and we asked about how to spend the balance she stated they have products to buy as well, ok cool no problem. Got there everything went great MESSAGE WISE, get done free steam shower didnt work, lockers wouldnt unlock checked out and wallahBalance $380 which meant $190 EACH. That was not the deal we discussed a week ago, but lady gave 20% OFF EACH, still had to pay more than gifted no problem. 2 out of 5 starts and will not go back or recommend anyone else, sorry, thanksKizzie/Chris Rice3/1/22
Always a great experience, I get a signature massage every couple of months as a pick me up. 10/10 would recommend, especially if you have a high stress job, its a great way to decompress.
I talked with Sterling to set up an appointment for my sister and he was so helpful. The salon is also beautiful and everyone is kind. Massages are phenomenal, Brittany does a bomb job with my scissor cuts and glossing treatments
Im not going to bash on the entire establishment because it was very well laid out. My complaint is strictly about the massage. My masseuse was very uneducated on what she was doing. Full time I felt like I needed to be tense because she was rolling over my backbone and also pressing on my muscles so hard until the finger broke traction multiple times adding more knots and stress to my back than when I came in. 90 minutes of me twitching and flinching and tightening up and saying that it was too rough. Its been a couple of days now and I have been having a pain down the right side of my spine that I can feel even when I move my neck and arms. I really do hate to leave this kind of review but for the amount of money I paid I expect the masseuse to know exactly what they are doing. I feel like calling up a friend to give me a massage would have been a better option. I highly doubt that I will be trying this establishment again.
Had my first experience here and I know Ill be back! Adelea and Riley took good care of me.------------Update:Dropping my 5 start rating to 2 stars because of two last minute (the night before) canceled appointments in the last one month. Milk + Honey expects customers to confirm their booking 24hrs in advance (or charges 50% of the estimated cost) but fails to get the same commitment from its stylists. While I understand that emergencies can come up in this climate, the frequency and last minute nature of the cancelations is concerning. From reading other 1 star reviews, I see that this is a recurring trend. The customer service rep offered me a discount to reschedule, but I was too frustrated to consider the options.I cant help but question if they routinely overbook expecting cancelations like in the airline industry, or I was bumped out for someone else as I am a new customer.---------For m+h: please do not comment below asking me to email you so I can help you help me. You should have all my contact information, history of past and upcoming appointments, etc. Send me an email directly about what you can offer, and more importantly, a commitment to maintain my upcoming spa appointment in September.
You guys. Y’all HAVE to go to MAYA!! Literally I’m telling you, you have to book her for your facial. My entire family goes to Maya now. No one does it like this girl. She’s so sweet and she’s literally so good at what she does. 10/10 would recommend!!! We love her
Love coming here after a stressful week and getting a massage and getting to use the steam room after, healthy gel pedicure and manicures are worth the upcharge especially since they sanitize metal tools and dont reuse nail files, buffers etc, ive tried other aluminum free deodorants but their actually works!!!
I was thinking for a long time if I should leave a comment or not. I had a day spa and hair treatment. With both I was happy on one hand and completely disappointed on the other. I had very good massage but horrible quality manicure with rude person who jump every 3 min as she had things missing on her table , and shellac lasted 3 days only .. I have beautiful balayage but the technique used on my hair was the longest ever and as painful as you can imagine. 3! People could not brush my hair over 2 h , so the stylist run out the time and would not finish with me and had to combine with other customers and speed up as a result terrible haircut with no due attention. If you charge 450$ for the service I expect 100% attention to myself and not sharing with other clients and waiting .
The robe, slippers and lounge were so comfortable! Massage was great as well! A true spa and not just get your service and leave. Highly recommend!
