Just spent a recent evening here and was impressed with the improvements and minor renovations. Nearly ten years ago we visited and everything was falling apart but now the fun grungy feel of the 90s is back without the disrepair associated with it. Truly a step back in time but with excellent staff and service.
I feel dead souls here #SoberJaqey J. Numbers😸45 years in business. The light show and sub bass and Eclectic and Electric Energy when everyone is Dancing is an absolute blast 💥 I feel the energy of this place throughout my soul when I am here. It’s my spiritual place and I feel community here amongst Hetro and LGBT people. Sometimes I wish it was bigger for more people.
The club is great. The vibe is awesome. The club had just the right amount of people. The drinks were good and not too expensive. My only gripe is with the music as a person who loves music, bars, clubs and atmosphere. If you have people camped out on the dance floor, they are there to dance. A majority of the people on the dance floor were in autopilot in between good songs. Take note of what makes people excited and come alive. When the songs that people know came on, the entire vibe changed. People would rush out on the dance floor and people would be laughing and having a good time. Then it was an hour of music no one knew and stagnated. Then a good song came on and reignited the vibe.Everything was great, except for the DJ. We were there from 10 to 2 and heard about 6 great songs. It’s disappointing because there are so many great 80’s and 90’s songs that would easily flip this club to a 10/10 night spot on Fridays.Update:I am in no way bashing this club. It is successful and I’m not disputing that. The dance floor does stay full. Because people are there to dance regardless of what you play.My only critique is that if someone goes to hear some 80’s or 90’s new wave, I’m not looking for deep cuts. The songs listed only probably 6 of them made the top 100. There’s no use for filler songs when you have thousands of iconic songs to choose from. The billboard top 100 for example.Like I said, I’m not bashing. I’m giving my opinion and it doesn’t mean anything. 🙏
Friday nights are the best at the club, but been to other amazing events there. Great sound, amazing lights! Friday nights are the cheapest drink prices to be found! Resident DJ Wes Wallace plays all the new wave, goth, and alternative classics and more from the late 70’s - early 2000’s and even the occasional new release to keep it fresh. The women’s bathroom got an update which is awesome. Big dance floor to flex your style. No dress code so come as you are, no judgment here!
Don’t get me wrong the place has great music and great atmosphere but i was with my friends and they kicked us out because a random dude gave us a drink and we were marked because we had no id when yet we were 21+ and last time we came they never marked us for having a photo id because we had one this time for the second time. one of the staffs kicked us out and i asked for my money back and they said “ we not giving you your money back that’s why we rob from the community “. never coming back, don’t go there unless you wanna get your money robbed.
The reason that I give the atmosphere a two star rating is because I have had a lot of friends drugged here. It is unfortunate that that happens in our scene. I wish that we could keep everyone safer and also I feel like this bar is amazing and beautiful and has awesome events but I do really feel bad about drinking culture and promoting alcoholism. I just want to say that the staff here are amazing and as always, much lovefrom Houston and the universe :)
This place was feeling like my empire when it comes to Emo Night every Wednesday, until i hear from my brother and our bestie Lulu that some stupid kids almost set the place on fire. Not just that, my brother and Lulu said that there was some drama from yall which i really dont understand yet id rather wanna keep away from. Overall, this place was still the greatest place to come. It genuinely sucks that Landry said no more Emo Night for this one because of that fire those scumbags caused a few weeks ago. I wasnt there when that happened, but my brother and Lulu could tell ya. Anyway, im still a little heartbroken that theres surprisingly not gonna be anymore Emo Nights in this one, but im still forever crowned as the Hype Man of Emo Night!
Had a good time thanx for the opportunity to visit y’all while I was in Houston I actually live in Louisiana and I take the train courtesy of Amtrak the route is called sunset limited and it takes me about 5 hours to get to Houston from Lafayette cause I live between Eunice and Crowley
I was entangled with intrigue from the first hour and the night unraveled into a labyrinth that my mind is still (delightfully) confused in. They say its nothing like your first time but Im hoping itll get better. Definitely going again!!!
The best and longest running nightclub in all of Texas history, Superior service from bartenders and door staff. Highly recommend on a classic numbers Friday night for your 80s industrial music fix.
I have always enjoyed Friday night classic numbers! Great DJs and good vibes - recently went to a private event and the atmosphere was spectacular! What a wonderful montrose gem to still have around. I hope to keep dancing here for years to come.
Definitely good beginner bar. After party location if very good. Bathroom is messy for men’s. Vibe was great!
This was definitely a fun place to hang out. I went on classic numbers night which isnt really my type of music but I knew that before I went. I do not dance very well especially to 80s music, but I felt like I could still get on the dance floor here. The only reason I did not give them five stars is due to the cleanliness of the club. If you are looking for clean restrooms dont go there, but if you are looking to have a great time with your friends and have a few beers this is a good place to go.
She was wearing a white dress. They played loud. Not a giant club so we were all real close to to stage
This is my third time coming here and having issues. We were told in the cash line it would be 10$. Get to the front and suddenly its 20$ with only 2 hours of the night left and nothing was done to accommodate. We had the money on card and couldve easily slid over to pay but they said we had to go to the end of the card line. There was no communication to the line from staff at all and no sympathy for people visiting the city.
Giving the bartender with dreads a ONE STAR , if she cannot handle the pressure of being a bartender and loses patience being super rude for NO REASON given , then she easily needs to move around.. meanwhile the other bar bartenders were fabulous, took care of us great and wish we just went straight to them instead of starting our night of with negativity from the dreadhead girl. Music is always great here, love the dance floor !
They knew how to not overdo the music volume so you are still able to communicate with people. Being from out of town, it was strange music and very theatrical dressed people with make up. The fact that people were walking around shirtless and there was no dress code get my stamp of approval.
$15 for minors $10 for 21+ thats fridays and weekends. tuesdays are a different story.
Oh What A Night!!Disco Night at Numbers is the epitome of a Dancing Queens delight!!Can’t wait for the next event!
First time. Amazing night. Glad I went to show. Whoever the dj was spinning before traitrs went on stage had a great playlist! Wish I knew the set he played. Staff is awesome and made my day better 🦋
This place is just TOO GREAT! I can’t even express how much I love this club. The staff are super awesome, the crowd never ever ceases to amaze me, the dj is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I meet such beautiful people here every time I visit.. I just wish they would stay open after hours, that’s legitimately how much I love this place. Also just a disclaimer.. don’t mind the judgmental LOSERS who complain about the music being “too lame” to dance to. Just straight up HATERS! Good riddance!! Meanwhile, The rest of us will have a blast while they sit in misery 🖤
I visited #’s Oct. 21st for my birthday. The music was so good!!! The bartenders are so attentive and remember you…. Even if it has been a few weeks. I also recently attended Front 242 and had such a blast. So organized! The crew was extremely attentive and aware when people were dropping drinks, etc. Someone made sure to signal me not to step back and processed to clean up a spill. Going on Friday for Halloween festivities! Sure it’ll be a blast!
Home away from home in the day and they are still going strong. Great live show venue and dance club. Be who ever you are, youre welcome there. Best club ever. Sad I cant get there as often as Id like to since I moved. Houston landmark in my opinion
Love this place. It is a houston landmark that brings me back everytime. Weekends are pretty packed and Kinky Tuesday is always a good time with rope class and top notch vendors.
We love Numbers! There is nothing like it, The vibe is great, and the people are welcoming. This club can not be recreated. It has been forged throughout many decades and is as rich as fine wine!
Absolutely LOVED this place and their music! All ages and friendly staff! Reasonable cover prices, too! Now, I get why there’s a line, it was totally worth it!
Dance your soul off at Numbers an Alternative Disco located in Montrose. It is open for ages 17+, as well as LGBTQ+ friendly. The cover fee can be as low as $5-$10 depending on age. The best spot especially for goth music. My friends and I love this place, we always have a grand ol time. We love dressing up, dancing, and enjoying the music, #s is my home ! Its as if times never changed, people are still vibrant, dancing, and the music is amazing. Its so ethereal, I love the community and people there sm, WE love #s ! Its a landmark of alternative culture in Houston.
Whether youre alone or with your significant other, all are welcome. Classic, Numbers Friday is always fun, Saturdays talent is gainng steam. The occasional Saturday night disco is awesome as well.
Most of my best memories have taken place here. It is my home away from home. Life has changed but Numbers has remained its glorious self, waiting for me to come forget my worries and with my favorite folks. Numbers is my version of Cheers, where everybody knows my name and I’m always glad I came. Come dance the night away! Everyone is welcome!
This is not your normal club scene. This is peak Montrose vibes. Dive bar + alternative club scene. If you are looking for alternative vibes, come here. The cover is worth the people watching and helps keep this Montrose treasure in business.
First time I went was alright, but second time sucked. They have a kinky Tuesday thing every Tuesday, which I didnt really care the theme, I just wanted to go out with my girl on valentines day.It was dead. There was people there but all they were doing was watching the women get tied up and whipped on stage. Nobody dancing, just drinking and blowing vape clouds. Some people clearly brought their own booze, we did too and since we saw others with it we thought it alright. Nowhere that we could see did it say no outside alcohol. Plenty of no weapons and no smoking but I didnt see anything on their website or in the club that indicated we couldnt bring our own drink. However, the bartender walked up to us, told us Guys, you cant do this and then he took our bottles out the back door. No warning, no chance for us to just put it away somewhere or get it back when we left.
Great vibes here, they charge a cover but the drinks are pretty cheap. Check what the theme is before you go because that changes the crowd a ton.
The sound is good and the dancefloor is nice and spacious.
The upgrade of the lights and audio that Rudi Bunch had done is fantastic. Wes Wallace is the best DJ ever, covering all the classic 80s music. I love the different events and concerts that Numbers does throughout the year. Shannon is the best bartender of all time and I will only go to her to make my drinks. The fact that I went to this club as a teenager and started going back about 5 years ago and continue going now that I am 50 is amazing.I truly have nothing but praise for Numbers and I have so much fun when I go. I consider myself a regular customer as we go at least once to twice a month but sometimes more depending on the events and concerts going on.
A fun, welcoming place to go dancing for all generations and lifestyles. The best music in Houston. We moved out of state 5 years ago and still make trips back just to go there. Its also one of the few cultural icons remaining in the Montrose area. We hope Numbers lives on forever.
I went here FOR THE FIRST TIME because I learned about The Obscure Oddities Market they hosted through Facebook. (I wanted to experience the market last month, but things didnt go according to plan.) The club is pretty laid back on Sundays and quite a blast on Fridays, according to one of the staff members. (Woo Hoo! 🎃🎶)
Big dance floor 80s music Friday night
Numbers is a very fun place to be. All of the employees are super friendly. The lighting and audio are second to none. The music and atmosphere are amazing, also the patrons of Numbers are like family, I cant even imagine a club anywhere that could top Numbers. It is truly a great venue with a rich history.
Ahh it was pathetic, the music is very old and corny, I enjoy and respect the 80’s, but this is my critique and MY EXPERIENCE.Great place to get drunk and make friends but sometimes i just want to change the music. I never heard my song request played. 😂😒
Our halloween was ruined by this venue. I paid $30 for my girlfriend and I to get kicked out after 10 min because they let too many people in. I was treated like garbage by every staff member.
Went here to blow off some steam and celebrate halloween last night, worst club experience in my life. For the wait and entrance fee, the experience was soooo lame. It’s NOT hard to do 80s halloween music. Didn’t hear thriller once. Instead all the songs sounded like some variation of the monster mash. All the beats sounded exactly the same. Since we had already paid the entrance fee and got alcohol, we tried to get on the dance floor and pretend like we wanted to dance but it was definitely not happening. Trying to dance to such lame music felt as awkward as a sweaty handshake. Will not be coming back.
This is a GEM of Houstons night life and has been part of Houston for decades. Its an important place to be, and definitely worth the time to get there!! Im returning soon, and VERY EXCITED 😊 🤗!!
Love the atmosphere and music! Expect to dress up a little and be fabulous. You will see people dress totally retro! Only complaint is I wish pricing was more clear and there are no lockers available so have a friend take turns watching your stuff.
My wife and I decided we wanted to try something new. So we decided to do 80s night on Friday. We had a great time. The cover was very economical and the drinks too if you compare it to other clubs. We part at El tiempo parking lot. We paid 10 bucks but they also have some free spots. Im just not the parking space scavenger type. So we paid. There was a line when we got there. It took us like 5 minutes to get in. We saw many type of people, all dancing and enjoying themselves dancing the night away. We didnt experience any bad issues. I do advice if you going go in with an open mind. Well definitely going back.
Definitely a weird eclectic vibe. This is the crowd you dont find in the average club... This is the club that people go to that dont feel comfortable and trendy clubs
Went to 6400 reunion night 11/6Hadnt been in over 20 yrs.A lot cleaner than the old days, esp the ladies room☆Lots of fun. Good DJ. He played both sings I asked for. There were other olds there too so we didnt feel out of place. Drinks were good. Had a great time & I hope they continue the 6400 nights.Ill be checking 😉I tried to add a photo, it was a pretty good crowd, but for some reason I couldnt
Great atmosphere! Reason prices, helpful staff, dancing, drinking, and being just whoever the hell you are! Park across the street, $20 bucks is a lot cheaper than being towed!!!
I love this club!! best music ever and amazing lightshows 🖤 good drinks too! kinky tuesdays is a chill time and fridays are my favorite!!
Favorite place to go since college many moons ago.. So many age groups and types of people that anyone can show up (even me in my 40s) and fit in and not feel out of place - From preppy college kids to goth and beyond. They play my favorite music (love classic Fridays where get to hear all the club classics from back in the day) and Im constantly checking on my phone to see what awesome new song is playing so i can download it later. And concerts here are always fun. Been to a ton of memoral concerts here over the years. Great sound system, great lights, great DJ, great bar staff. Numbers is the best.
Its the ONLY night club Ive ever felt comfortable and safe in. The people there know what it means to be respectful. I know that I can go there and have a good time, and I dont have to worry about being harassed. The drinks are great and cheap. The music is the best in Houston.
I was so excited to take my brother to a concert here- his favorite. However, the night soured when my boyfriend needed to get something from his car and asked the women at the front if he could before we entered. Since we were in line already, she told him very rudely laughing at him that there was no re-entry. He had not even went in yet. The tone/ behavior shown to him was absolutely unacceptable and rude- and it should not happen to paying costumers. I will not come back here again.
A Historical Landmark of Houston Texas. NO other club can or ever has been anything like it ever and lasted Succesfully as #s has. NO dress codes no attitudes, nothing but being yourself ! Ive been going here since the way early 90s i was a later boomer and was sorry i wasnt here earlier Honestly but i didnt live here LOL. Mgmt and bartenders have always treated me and everyone ive ever seen as every customer is a part of Numbers Night Club.VIP treatment without the VIP status for me and has always been that way Honestly and Truthfully. I used to go here all the time in fact i owned ( not really) the dance floor when it came to concerts i was here all of the 90s 3-5 nights a week for the live concerts and was invited by the club to meet my Favorite band backstage one night i was in awe and shock of a life time for me Personally Our Lady Peace my all time Favorite band ever and still thank Numbers for all the Memories and never except once due to surgery missed a New yrs party its the BEST New years night Party EVER. See you all soon!
Best Club in Houston and honestly, it beats any club in LA. Youll see so much diversity, everyone truly belongs, young, old, gay, straight, non-binary, trans, etc. No pretension, no egos, just FUN!! Its a great place to just have a great time and leave all your stress on the dance floor. DJ Wes Wallace is the best DJ in the city, Classic Numbers is our favorite night.
I was here last night for a show. It was really nice and fun. My only complaint is the bartender upstairs was especially rude with me. I asked him for a cup of water and he said he needed a dollar for it. I asked my friend if he could get me the water and the bartender said he wasn’t going to swipe a card for one dollar. All of the other bartenders were very nice, I don’t know what his problem was.
Great club for dancing, the bartenders are a mess, they skip you instead of serving you even after waiting 10-20 minutes in line for a drink. Don’t come here before pre gaming
What can you say, this place is a staple of the nightclub scene. Friendly bartenders. Fair prices. They have also worked very hard to remodel the interior. Bathrooms are updated and clean. Lots of music history at this iconic club from the myriad of stickers behind the main bar to the beautiful mural work outside on the side of the building. The sound and lighting system is spot on. The DJs also often play some great music you just wont hear anywhere else in Houston. Great place to socialize, dance, and perform.
Bartender girl with dreads was dreadfully mean to everyone at the bar and overcharged me yet made it seem like it was my fault and didn’t fix the problem. Will never be coming back specially because this bartenders terrible attitude
I LOVE this place!!!!!!!!! It was the first place I found when I moved to Houston, I have no need to find any other club... this has everything I could want or need. They have plenty of room, everyone is open minded and friendly ... I am usually around there for the Cyber wasteland or Underground nights. I always have a blast... I have never had any problems with any one..and to the guy that says everyone is already taken... that is not true, everyone is not married or already dating someone... but it is true of most clubs that the majority of the people in the club are with their significant other... but not everyone has one of those. And to the guy who thinks the live shows suck... So far every show I have seen was great!!... I had no problem hearing any of the bands or other shows that I have seen there...and I have seen several at this point. So you have two guys that didnt get laid, complaining about the club... dont take their word for it...come check the place out for yourself.
I LOVE this place. I try to go every Friday night! The restrooms arent in greatest of shape but Im not there for that, Im there to dance. The music is fantastic, and the lights are incredible and the drinks are cheap. Its also cheap to walk through the door! I love this place.
Awesome place to dance.. Rudi Bunch did great job of upgrading the lights and stairs with lights by the stage. Thanks to the best dj Wes Wallace for spinning 80s music past, present and many more years to come.
Cool shows and a crazy crowd. No matter how weird you dance, you can feel comfortable and have fun here. Not the cleanest place- but ok for a club. Very casual- no dress code. Be advised: If you go on a Friday you will see very obvious cross dressers / trans people.
Low stars are from boring, uptight folks. This is the coolest place in the whole entire world. Feel so sorry for those who cant see it for what it is
Ive only been a few times, (all on Fridays), and I think its an an awesome club, they only played 80s music, beer on tap for really cheap, discounted cover charge for students, plus a free Well Drink with cover, and I met a bunch of great people there.I normally dont like clubs and only dance around my house when nobodys there; but I thoroughly enjoyed it, so much that I even danced (that really says a lot).I really, highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys that sort of stuff.Just make sure you have at least one item of BLACK clothing on, otherwise you will stand out, (unless you like standing out).
I sometimes travel down from Chicago just to go to Numbers on a Friday night. The music is great and the crowd fantastic. Always friendly staff too. If youre in Houston you should definitely go!
Feels like a second home. Such an amazing energy here that you can’t find anywhere else. Great selection of 80s/90s music. My double cranberry vodka is always delicious too. Can’t wait to go back and dance!
All-time favorites, was fourteen years old child and had a blast and never looked back! Staff is awesome and has seldomly changed through the course of its existence! DJ and dancing along with some of the greatest shows live from all sorts of genres.
Came here for my friends 30th! Great environment, great music, great vibes ♡#s is a Houston staple and has been around for ages. Never lets you down and you will always have a good time. I suggest coming after 10:30 thats when it gets a nice crowd and more dancing. We came last night and happened upon a Depeche Mode mix. Had a fantastic night and danced the night away.
Numbers v2.0!Came in from Austin last weekend last Friday night with a friend that had never been, suggested we go. I hyped it up so much, probably because of all my nostalgia from going in the 90s and early 00s! OMG, #s didnt disappoint! At all!Incredible music ✔️Friendly staff ✔️All the good vibes ✔️Where did the sketchy AF restroom go?! I hadnt been in 20 years and I was blown away yet pleasantly surprised how clean Numbers was, but somehow maintaining the originality of the old #s I loved! They made all the right changes and kept all the right stuff we fell in love with all those years back. All growns up and still rockin the retro like noone else in Texas!Good job Numbers! Im coming back as soon as possible!
This is one of the best clubs in houston for the grunge/80s crowd, It may not be for everyone but if you arent like everyone you will probably like it. They put on some really good shows and seasonal attractions that will not disappoint. It is a two level venue with upstairs bar/observation deck/lounge area. There is also a stage, bleacher area, large dance floor, a gift store, outside patio/smoking area and 4 bars on the ground floor.
Nice club with a pretty inclusive but still upbeat atmosphere. When I went you could find goth, hipster, hip hop culture, and Bowie fans and none of them felt out of place. Plus friendly staff. Roughly as expensive as youd expect. Ill probably go back.
ITS NUMBERS! This place is legendary. It attracts all kinds of people and is very inclusive. Pretty cool place. If you want to hit up clubs in Houston, start here, Fridays are your best bet for a fun time.
Been coming here for years. Recommend the upstairs bar since it can accept credit cards and had minimal lines. Staff is always helpful and looking out for the best interest of the patrons. Drinks always poured heavy. Bathrooms, kind of suck. Regardless, 5 stars for this landmark of night life.
The best, most iconic nightclub in the world. Saw my first concert there, danced every Friday for years Ill keep coming back until I die.Thankfully it kept going after Robot passed away. I hope it continues forever.Classic Fridays still the big weekly event.Kinky Tuesdays has been going over a year now and is excellent.
Numbers is what Ive spent my whole young adult life looking for. I just discovered this gem roughly 8 months ago. Boy am I glad I did. I live 3 hours away in Louisiana, and Numbers is my go-to club for a vacation weekend. My husband and I love this place... great drinks, great people, and an amazing dance floor. Every night weve gone, we have come back home with the most incredible stories and new found friends. Numbers is legendary.
Amazing Light Show , Great Music , Great Drinks , Friendly regulars & staff, and the Best Friday night in Texas , this place is a Houston Institution!!
Go back in time and experience what clubs were like in the 1980s! Friday night is amazing!
Not a friendly place if ur tr4ns
Why I paid ten dollars to get in, I have no idea— I don’t think y’all Texans realize how lame y’all’s nightlife is.The music was depressing and the 20 people on the dance floor barely even were doing the white girl dance. It’s Houston. Do better.
The best place to hear your favorite hard rock, metal, industrial, or 80s/90s hits. The only club I am ever willing to go to in Houston! Great people work here too, its very friendly and a great place to go after a long day to get your work frustrations to go away.
Best night club from 80s, synth, darkwave, industrial, new wave, and people just being themselves or just doing their own thing. My friends are my family there. Love being their on Fridays and industrial nights. Parking lot is so much better than it used to be. You can wear what evvvvver you want. Attend glamorous or go in super casual. Its not that no one cares or feel like people are starting at you, the vibes and atmosphere is a wonderful chaotic experience. The first time I went was over 13 years ago and had the best first time experience. Its memoriable and inviting. There is bar outside and cigarette area. Friday nights are the favorite nights to attend.
Lets DANCE! Great spot to dance 80s music on a Friday night. Its dark, mysterious and sure to be an experience.Numbers is not your typical Houston nightclub. It has a style of its own and you have to have an open mind to go there. You can wear whatever you like, from fishnet stocking to a bustier nothing is off limits here. Just a bunch of people having fun and dancing the night away to David Bowie, Depeche Mode and more.
I went here for Halloween with some friends and every encounter with an employee was horrible. I spoke with 3 different staff members and every single one of them had a bad attitude. I will not be coming back and would not recommend. There are so many great places in Houston. Don’t even bother.
Its an nice club. Come as you are. Be who you are. Except for a few. Me and my partner went on salute to 1989 and the dj selectively chose the music to spin for that night. I was expecting to hear Madonna and Samantha Fox. Alot of Acid Rock. Not for me. I was expected to hear top 40s of 1989.
Went for Front 242, RevCo and CCCP. They completely oversold so it was packed to the point you could barely walk, and you could only buy one drink per “wristband” which was a major inconvenience. Thankfully, we saw Front 242 and RevCo in other cities this week so we didn’t miss much.
This place is like home to me! James is an amazing bartender! I love my Tuesday nights here. Just watch the signs when it comes to street parking so you dont leave and find a ticket on your window.
The I oldest dance club in Houston that dedicates to the underground scene and continues to caters to the older crowd. Fri. Nights are for us 80s kids who love the classic industrial dance music and the club feels like you stepped back into the 80s like when we were kids coming there again like when we were young... May it never change!!
Dont lose anything here. The staff and owner would most likely keep it. We went to get my stuff and they claimed it wasnt there. Until I told them my GPS shows it is here and all of a sudden the owner finds it after saying they gave it back the night before. Wack. They did keep my Wallet they said they gave us with my phone though, since theres no GPS in that.
This place is home. Everyone has a place here. I feel safe coming to dance here , even by myself. All the staff are wonderful and are watching out for everyones safety because they truly care and that is a very rare thing these days especially at a nightclub. Underworld nights are amazing, love DJs Mina and vv James ❤
For better or worse, Numbers is just one of those Houston establishments that refuses to die. Fridays, to me, are the best time to drop on by. The staff are what they are. A good group a friends and the will to drink and dance can really make for some memorable times here.Just be cautious of their restrooms and creepers. True grime.
Always has smokey, hard to breathe air. The bartender shamed me because I didnt have cash and didnt meet the $5 minimum for a card (NO sign posted!). The dance floor is too small for the amount of people and theres not a whole lot of seating.
Great place to go for 80’s music on Fridays. A Houston institution. You will see a lot of older faces there.
Great bar and venue. I am a particular fan of the burlesque shows they host on the last Friday of every month. The staff is nice and helpful, and while the venue does show age, it is maintained well.
I absolutely adore #s! I drive from 4 1/2 hours from Louisiana several times a year to visit. Theres no place like it to dance!
I was there last Sat for a tribute concert (Soda Stereo) and I went to the bar for a beer, and after around 15 mins. I asked the bartender ( black/curly hair with tattoos) Why she was serving her fiend who came after me, what I got in response was an insult and she showed me the middle finger. I never was rude to her, even after her showing her low class. I went to the bar to buy a beer, and also I went to NUMBERS to spend money, not to beg or get stuff for free, this kind of staff should be terminate since is ruining reputations business.
Went with a group of friends , had three drinks at a bar prior, ordered ONE drink at numbers and don’t remember anything after that. Also found out from a mutual that there are other girls with similar stories of having one drink here and blacking out. BE SAFE LADIES AND GENTS clearly are drugging people at numbers. If I could give less stars I would. I’m disgusted that a bar tender, someone to be trusted was slipping people’s drinks.
Numbers is my home away from home. Best new wave, industrial music ever!!! Friday nights is the place to be when you wanna dance the night away 🖤 met some of the most amazing people there
The only place I have ever been to where you can actually be yourself, or whoever else you want to be without a judgement in the world. A mixture of all sorts of ppl from diff backgrounds every time I come. Definitely the funnest club around. I usually go every Friday and have been for about a year! Definitely recommended. Also, check out Kinky Tuesdays at this place, if youre into the BDSM scene ;)
Numbers is a locality where you as an individual can let go of todays stresses and enjoy the ambience that the dance music will always possess.Let it also be noted that Numbers attracts a wide spectrum of guests that one can just sit back and note. Sometimes, a few nice ladies will be included that are there to play the same game as one. Play your cards right and you might get lucky...
Always have a blast at #s when I visit Houston. The last show was freaking sick. Twin Tribes/She Past Away. You all need to get them there once a year at least...
What happened to classic Fridays. Returned after the pandemic and was looking forward to some good Depeche Mode but left disappointed with all the new rave playing.
I try to make it every Friday - always a blast. DJ wES spins great 80s viny and shows vintage video, and the patio has a vibe all its own. Diverse, eclectic crowd with numerous Numbers regulars complete the scene. You have to check it out.
There is no better club if you are into 80s new wave music. Its not for everybody, but if you can be open to the unusual ways some people have in expressing them selves; you can have a really great experience.
No place compares to Numbers. Excellent staff, music, and atmosphere. Come and experience the best night club in Houston! Been a patron for many years, and intend to be for many more...
I loved 6400 night - had a blast. Met a bunch of cool people
One of my favorite places. Although I would like to hear more deathrock, batcave, and trad goth in the musical rotation.
This place has been here since the dawn of time!!!!
Worst club I been too so far, music sucks wasn’t even good and the whole vibe of the place was off. Also entry fee was outrageously high huge pay 30 bucks for each person. 👎👎👎👎
The bartenders especially the girl downstairs on the bottom right was so rude it’ll prolly be the last time I go there unless otherwise
I love Numbers!! This club has been my favorite place to go for almost 20 years! The diversity here is amazing! You can be yourself here and not worry about people judging you!
This place used to be the spot for real music. A lot of great bands got their start here. They used to have a lot of great bookings but Now it seems its just a spot for 80s music.
Houston’s grand old dame of nightclub entertainment. If you feel like you don’t fit in at other clubs, then Numbers is waiting with open arms. Recently upgraded light show makes Friday “Classic Numbers” (80s/industrial/retro) extra nuts. Check schedule often as events/live acts/themes change frequently! Everything from live bands to wrestling to burlesque and more. Don’t park on Avondale! LOL
Ruined what could have been a great live performance in a small club. Peter Murphy show. Sound was awful. On quiet or spoken times all you can hear was the fans in the ceilng rattling. Place sucks for live shows.
Ive been to Numbers Nightclub off on Westheimer inbetween the Montrose District and Midtown Houston back in September last year and was there with another male friend of mine hoping to dance the night with some sexy ladies, but boy were we dissapointed after finding out that every lady (sexy or not, young or older) was already taken and with their boyfriend or husband! Ive also seen fights break out in this nightclub between 2 or 3 guys with 1 accusing the other of dancing with their wife! Ive also seen men dressed in what appeared to be gang-related attire and was worried that a gang-fight could break out in the place or on its premises! Also, Ive smelled what appears to be marijuana in the place! Ive also been approached by another patron who asked me if I would like to try ecstacy! The place looks like it needs major upgrades, especially with its lighting in the mens restroom and upstairs lounging area to make them safer for the patrons! And please, for the sake of the patrons and their safety, please put more security in the place (I.E., more Bouncers, physically tough ex.NFL/Ex Pro Wrestler sized Bouncers, metal detecters at the entrances), and please institute a strict dress code for all men, too! I know you guys dont really have a dress code or VIP system in place, but please institute one for the men who goes there (I.E., no baggy pants, no baseball caps, no sports jerseys, no all blues, no all reds, no bandanas, just some examples of gang-related stuff), esppecially for safety of the guests there! I know you guys will confiscate any guns or weapons brought into the place, but people still have fists to fight with, too! And also, if upgrading the place, please have a No Drugs allowed on premises policy! For the time being I and my male buds will be taking our night clubbing to Downtown Houstons Club Curve for now on! At least theyre safer!
A Houston treasure thats been here for decades.80s music, alternative crowd, Industrial, Grafitti art, kinky, tattoos and body mods, undergroundIf any of these words describe you or your interests then you need to visit ASAP. Very friendly crowd and staff.
This is a Houston landmark, lots of great bands have played here over the years. Numbers has an eclectic crowd and you never know who will be here. Must see at least once, you will be back again.
Rude women. Grabbed my drink forcfuly and kicked my younger sister and I out of there just because i asked her to hold my drink. 1st-you couldve been nicer.Rude women who discriminate when you walk in, bartenders were alright.1 drink per purchase... How lame.
Some of the most fun you can have in the city, especially if you’re in that weird 18-20 age range.
Only given 5 stars because of the awesome history Ive had good times and bad times on this place I would have paragraphs forever Ill just say right now its still a good place to go and hear old-school 80s dance music. Oh and be careful where you park
Been going here since I was a kid. Lloyd is the best. Never ever had a bad time ! Can’t wait for it to reopen!!! Best place ever ❤️❤️❤️Lloyd, chad and I love ya!
The only Dance Club you, as a person who loves to Dance, can go on a Friday night, Dance to Great 1980’s Industrial, Synth POP, New Wave, New Romantic, Dark Wave, Post Punk and Indie Rock MUSIC and have a BLAST..... There are some really kind and decent folks that I have met at Number#’s, Houston..... I have been going to this club since I was in the 9th grade..... Number#’s is part of the Midtown, Houston Culture and will always be in the Hearts of the Kind Spirited people who gather at Number#’s together in Peace and Harmony to Drink and Dance the night away.....
Always a great experience! The club doesn’t tolerate any kind of racism what so ever. I’m f you have cash go to the back bar (red) and see Lloyd!!!
Its a fun place good music beautiful people and large dance floor.
I like 80’s night and the drinks are cheap depending on which bartender you get. The women bartenders are really rude and expect you to tip each time you get a drink before you even close your tab. I tip at the very end not between every drink, but I guess that’s the kind of vibe this club is going for
Different nights means different from classic 80s pop on Fridays, to Gothic Saturday night once a month. The mix drinks have a reasonable price $3.5.
Nothing says rock and roll like this place. For decades its been the dive of the live music performance spaces. It offers a fun 80s night on Fridays.
Dirty, Run down and not a good environment. I went one time and will not go back. They may have good performers, but id rather go to a decent facility.
Sound system is very good. Not the cleanest place in the world but for a club that is 40 years old it is expected. But for a place to have a show not bad at all.
Its one of the best time she can have in a long time have all kinds of music and bands the ages are 17 and up yeah let this place in you want to come back
Gothic type club, went on a Saturday it was mostly a crowd in their 40s. Had good drink special till 11
Polite fun crowd.. All people welcome, good music.. Recently rediscovered when they had a Saturday disco night!!!!
Not at all what I expected. Would not recommend to my friends. Unless you’re looking for some punk vibes on a Wednesday, don’t go ✋🏼
I always have a great time here. I’ve been a client for years and hope to keep coming back for many many more! It’s an awesome time with awesome people.
Absolute dump, hypnotically stagnant staff, archaic payment processing system, and DISGUSTINGLY filthy/grungy interior (I won’t even begin to try and describe the restrooms). First and most definitely last time here. To those that like it - keep it, it’s all yours!
I hate this place so much. This place used to be a lot of fun, now its a racist bastion of hatred and oppression. I honestly never bother with these Google reviews but I hate this place so much I had to leave a review. Please dont bother. There are so many better places to check out.
Its been decades but I was on the 812 productions team and helped bring many awesome shows to numbers! Memories Ill never forget!
I always enjoy my time at numbers because I get to be myself and dance as much as I want in whatever way that I want with no judgement.
Went here plenty of times with a bunch of friends and always have fun. Always nice coming here and seeing familiar faces! Definitely a 5 star.
Drinks can be expensive, although they have specials all the time. The crowd is not for everyone, but if your into it you will have a great time.
You will feel like you need to go bathe after being in there for a few minutes. Looking around at the crowd makes you feel depressed. Negative energy. Never again.
Love the music and the atmosphere. The drinks are not over priced . Hope to see more concerts there.
Great place! Music is always awesome. Light show makes the atmosphere wonderful. Friendly staff.
I have been enjoying numbers for many years, I am glad to see them still going strong. Great place for friends to get together and have some fun.
Ladies please be careful some A-hole put something in my drink and my husband found me in a corner where this guy kept biting my face. After my husband rescued me I have no recollection of the rest of the night, BE CAREFUL.
This is clearly one of thje best dance clubs around town, trust me, if there is a person to ask about dance clubs around time, that would be mu friend Alex, and she said that this is oneo f the ebst, we tried going in last weekend and it was the bomb.
The quintessential 80s style dive dance club. A fine sheen of wear, tear and filth that will not scrub off covers the place.
I would give this place a zero if given the choice. The staff on the the floor grabbed my hand and made me dump my drink at last call, forceably, by grabbing my wrist. This is not well managed establishment. Beware.
Houstons only goth club, theres a reason its been open for decades. Strong drinks, usually cheap & 18-20 get in for extra cover (& a X on their hand)
My first time in this venue, total bill was $160.78 wake up the next morning saw $200 debit in my account, I call and visited the morning shift manage, he told me there is nothing he can do, don’t use your debit card here, I have reported to my bank to dispute the transaction.
I love this place, but last time we went, all of us got felt up by creeps. People who come here need to keep their hands to themselves.
This is sick and I like it! They have a great bar manned by great tenders and they also have a wicked song list to play, they never disappoint.
It was an awesome club, great energy very professional staff.. Def want to c another top band when it comes to Houston.. Thx..
Absolutely love this place and its vibe awesome concerts I’ve enjoyed here!
Great place for alternative folk, super chill and great music
Absolutely the best 80s by dj Wes. Etro has nothing compared to #s
#’s has been a refuge to be myself and discover some incredible music and meet some great people too for more than half my life.
I love Numbers, it takes me back to my teen years. The only downfall is that the restrooms flood, please fix! Other than that I love the music.
Ive been coming here for over 20 years j its never a dull moment. The drinks are stiff & the music is RAD!!!
Great staff, great music...come as you are..no judgment...and dance the nights away.. love it!!
The best 80s club in town. I have going there for many years.
Always have always will love this place. Numbers is a staple of the Houston night life. Friday nights are a trip back to the 80s
Wow very impressed fromThe security guard to the bartenders I found a great spot with music and great atmosphere thank you!
This Hidden Gem in Montrose area has been around for over 30 years. This Night Club contributes to an alternative lifestyle and may seem unusual to some.
This place is a den for police. Do not go to this place. I was at the bar ordering a drink and ended up going to jail for drinking. Had designated driver there and everything. Would not recommend!!!
I entered the club and they kicked me out immediately after paying my entry fee. All I wanted to do was dance with my friends.
I have been to numbers since 1988 when I was a senior.Last visit on 06-12-16 ; Friday...it was a blast! Lol....a couple called is old.
The staff is rude, the smoke they used made me allergic and gave me a headache, the air ventilation sucks and makes you feel surfficated
Some people who work there are rude, the place is boring and ugly looking, and the music is awful.
Been roofied here twice and nasty bathrooms, but awesome 80s nights and obscure bands.
Young crowd, good music, strict staff probably because younger crowd. Go to ETRO night club
One of my favorite clubs in Houston, Classic 80s night is awesome.
The only place worth going to dance in Houston. The only place where EVERYONE is accepted, no judge. Not even you!
Fun place on Tuesdays when all the kinky folks come out and perform. Love the atmosphere.
Been coming here for almost 10 years. A Houston treasure and 80s night on Fridays is incredible.
Go upstairs and ask for something fruity, its the bartenders own creation and its fantastic, especially when you drink 7 in a row.
A classic Houston club! Always go for flashback Fridays. Cheap drinks, fun atmosphere.
Great dance floor, Friday night 80s alternative music, great DJ and drink specials!
Its a place where you cant be afraid to be your self. I felt safe and accepted here when I was young.
Everyone is free to express themselves and the music is the best. Super great to dance too!!
Great crowd, big stage, fair prices, awesome effects
High cover fee but worth it! Easily the most fun Ive had in a long time
